Continuing on with the Bible. Let's get into it.
This is Positiveity Successor Episode 275.
The ark brought to Jerusalem 6
David again brought together out of Israel chosen men
30,000 in all
He and all his men set out from Bala of Judah
to bring up from there the ark of God
which is called by the name
the name of the Lord Almighty
who was enthroned between the
cherubim that are on the ark.
They set the ark of God on a new cart and brought it from the house of Abed Nadab, which was on the hill.
Uzah and Ahayu, Ohio, sons of Abedadab were guiding the new cart with the ark of God on it,
and Ahio was walking in front of it.
David and the whole house of Israel were celebrating with all their might before the Lord,
with songs and with harps, lures, tambourines, cisterums, and cymbals.
When they came to the threshing floor of Nakan, Uzah reached out and took hold of the Ark of God,
because the oxen stumbled.
The Lord's anger burned against Uzza
because of his irreverent act.
Therefore, God struck him down
and he died there beside the Ark of God.
Then David was angry because the Lord's raft
had broken out against Uzza.
And to this day, that place is called Perez-Uza.
David was afraid of the Lord.
Lord that day and said, how can the Ark of the Lord ever come to me? He was not willing to take the
Ark of the Lord to be with him in a city of David. Instead, he took his side to the House of Obed,
Adam, the Gidite. The Ark of the Lord remained in the house of Obed Adam, the Gidite for three
months and the Lord blessed him in his entire household.
Now King David was told, the Lord has blessed the household of a bed at him and everything he has.
Because of the Ark of God, so David went down and brought up the Ark of God from the House of
Obedium to the City of David with rejoicing.
with those who were carrying the ark of the Lord had taken six steps.
He sacrificed a bull and a fattened calf.
David wearing a linen effoid danced before the Lord with all his might,
while he in the entire House of Israel brought up the Ark of the Lord with shouts
and the sound of trumpets.
As the Ark of the Lord was entering the City of David,
Mechal, daughter of Saul, watched from a window.
And when she saw King David leaping and dancing before the Lord,
she despised him in her heart.
They brought the ark of the Lord and set in its place inside the tent that David had pitched for it.
And David sacrificed burnt offerings and fellowship offerings before the Lord.
after he had finished sacrificing the burnt offerings and the fellowship offerings,
he blessed the people in the name of the Lord Almighty.
Then he gave a loaf of bread, a cake of dates, and a cake of raisins to each person
and the whole crowd of Israelites, both men and women, and all the people went to their homes.
When David returned home to bless his household,
McGow, daughter of Saul, came out to meet him and said,
How the king of Israel has distinguished himself today,
this robbing in the sight of the slave,
girls of his servants, has any vulgar fellow would.
David said to Mikal,
It was before the Lord who chose me rather than your father,
or anyone from his house when he appointed me,
ruler over the Lord's people, Israel.
I will celebrate before the Lord.
I will become even more undignified than this.
And I will be humiliated in my own eyes.
But by the slave girls you spoke of,
I will be held in honor.
And McGow daughter of Saul had no children to the day of her death.
God's promise to David 7.
After the king was settled in his palace,
and the Lord had given him rest from all his enemies around him,
he said to Nathan the prophet,
Here I am living in the palace of Saturday,
while the Ark of God remains in the tent.
Nathan replied to the king,
Whatever you have in mind, go ahead and do it,
for the Lord is with you.
That night the word of the Lord came,
to Nathan, saying, go and tell my servant, David, this is what the Lord says. Are you the one to build me a
house to dwell in? I have not dwelt in the house from the day I brought the Israelites up out of Egypt
to this day. I have been moved, moving from place to place with a tent as my dwelling.
Wherever I am moved with all the Israelites, did I ever say to any of their rules?
who I commanded to shepherd my people Israel,
why have you not built me a house of Seder?
Now then, tell my servant David,
this is what the Lord Almighty says.
I took you from the pasture
and from following the flock to be ruler over my people Israel.
I have been with you wherever you have gone,
and I've cut off all your enemies from before you.
Now I will make your name.
name great, like the names of the greatest men of the earth.
I will provide a place for my people Israel and will plant them so that they can have a home of
their own and no longer be disturbed.
Wicked people will not oppress them anymore, as they did at the beginning and have done
ever since the time.
I appoint to leaders over my people Israel.
I will also give you rest from all your enemies.
The Lord declares to you that the Lord.
himself will establish a house for you.
When your days are over and you rest with your fathers,
I will raise up your offspring to succeed you,
who will come from your own body.
I will establish the kingdom.
He is the one who will build a house for my name,
and I will establish the throne of his kingdom forever.
I will be his father, and he will be my son.
When he does wrong, I will punish him with the rock,
of men, with floggings inflicted by men, but my love will never be taken away from him,
as I took it away from soul whom I am removed from before you.
Your house and your kingdom will endure forever before me.
Your throne will be established forever.
Nathan reported to David all the words of this entire revelation.
David's prayer.
Then King David went in and sat before the Lord and said, and he said,
Who I am I?
O sovereign Lord, and what is my family that you have brought me this far?
And as if this were not enough in your sight, O sovereign Lord,
you have also spoken about the future of the house of your servant.
Is this your usual way of dealing with me?
man, O sovereign Lord, what more can David say to you?
For you know your servant, O sovereign Lord, for the sake of your word, and according to your will,
you have done this great thing and made it known to your servant.
How great you are, O sovereign Lord, there is no one like you, and there is no God but you,
as we have heard with our own ears and who is like your people Israel.
The one nation on earth that God went out to redeem has a people for himself
and to make a name for himself and to perform great and awesome wonders by driving out nations
and their gods from before your people whom you redeemed from Egypt.
You have established your people, Israel, has your own,
your very own forever, and you, O Lord, have become their God.
And now, Lord God, keep forever the promise you have made concerning your servant in his house.
Do as you promise so that your name will be great forever.
Then men will say, the Lord Almighty is God over Israel.
In the house of your servant, David will be established before you.
O Lord Almighty, God of Israel, you have revealed this to your servant saying, I will build a house for you.
So your servant has found courage to offer you this prayer.
O sovereign Lord, you are God.
Your words are trustworthy and you have promised these good things to your servant.
Now be pleased to bless the house of your servant that it may continue forever in your sight.
for you, O Servan Lord, has spoken, and with your blessing, the house of your servant will be blessed forever.
Amen.
That's where we're going to stop.
We'll pay back up with David's Victories 8.
Let's live it.
2 Samuel 6, 1 through 11.
Show respect for God.
David wanted to bring the Ark of God to Israel.
This special box was the most holy object in Israel.
This story tells something that happened that made David afraid and angry.
Read 2 Samuel 6 1 through 11.
Why was Uzah killed?
God's law said that the ark was to be carried very carefully on poles and that no one could touch it.
People had to show respect for God by doing exactly what God said, not by doing what they,
what they thought would be all right.
Later, David had carried men,
carried the ark to Jerusalem
exactly the way God asked.
The story of Uzza reminds us
to show respect for God
because God is very great.
We show respect for God,
as David finally did,
by carefully obeying him.
Let's live it.
To Samuel 7, 1 through 16.
Love,
forever. Read 2 Samuel 7.1
through 16. Then
memorize this part of 2 Samuel
715. My love will never be
taken away from him. God
loves us just that way.
To remind you of God's kind of love,
cut a strip of paper about one
half inch wide and
11 inches long.
Twist the paper strip
at one time.
and tape the two ends together.
Then take a pen, start drawing the line on the inside of the strip.
Keep turning the strip, but do not lift the pen from the paper.
You'll find, you've made a line on both sides of the strip
without ever taking the pen off the paper.
Keep this magic strip to mind you that God will never take his love away from.
you. You are marked as someone's God, someone God loves, and that love continues forever.
