Starting point is 00:01:38 when Abraham's servant may have prayed in his heart here are some places you might want to pray in your heart instead of out loud. In school, you might pray in your heart when you are about to take a test. You might pray in your heart when you have to perform in front of an audience. You might pray in your heart on school bus if teasing is going on. List three other places or situations in which you might want to pray in your heart. And then list three places or situations in which you want to pray in your heart. And then list three
Starting point is 00:02:13 places or situations in which you would pray out loud. Genesis 24 1 through 21. Isaac and Rebecca 24. Abraham was now old and well advanced in years, and the Lord had blessed him in every way. He said to the chief servant in his household, the one in charge of all that he had, put your hand under my thigh.
Starting point is 00:02:47 I want you to swear by the Lord, the God of heaven and the God of earth, that you will not get a wife for my son from the daughters of the Canaanites among whom I am living, but will go to my country and my own relatives and get a wife for my son, Isaac. The servant asked him,
Starting point is 00:03:11 what if the woman is unwilling to come back with me to this land? Shall I then take your son back to the country you came from? Make sure that you do not take my son back there. Abraham said, The Lord, the God of heaven who brought me out of my father's household and my native land and who spoke to me and promised me on oath saying, to your offspring, I will give this land. He will send his angel before you so that you can get a wife for my son from there.
Starting point is 00:03:51 If the woman is unwilling to come back with you, then you will be released from this oath of mine. Only do not take my son back there. So the servant put his hand under the thigh of his master Abraham and swore an oath to him, concerning the matter, concerning this matter. Then the servant took ten of his master's camels and left, taking with him all kinds of good things from his master. He set out for Aram Naharam and his way to the town of Nahor and made his way to the town of Nahor.
Starting point is 00:04:36 and made his way to the town of Nahur. He had the camels kneel down near the well outside the town. It was tour evening the time the woman go out to draw water. Then he prayed, Oh Lord, God of my master Abraham, give me success today. It show kindness to my master Abraham. See, I am standing beside the, this spring and the daughters of the town's people are coming now to draw water.
Starting point is 00:05:13 May it be that when I say to a girl, please let down your jar that I may have a drink. And she says, drink and I'll water your camels too. Let her be the one you have chosen for your servant, Isaac. By this, I will know that you have shown kindness to my master. Before he had finished praying, Rebecca came out with her jar on her shoulder. She was the daughter of Beth Thule, son of Milka, who was the wife of Abraham's brother Nahua. The girl was very beautiful, a virgin. No man had ever lain with her.
Starting point is 00:05:59 She went down to the spring, filled her jar, and came up again. The servant hurried to meet her and said, Please give me a little water from your jar. Drink, my lord, she said, and quickly lowered the jar to her hands and gave him a drink. After she had given him a drink, she said, Outdraw water for your camels too, until they have finished drinking.
Starting point is 00:06:27 So she quickly emptied her jar into the throw. ran back to the well to draw more water and drew enough for all his camels without saying a word the man who the man watched her closely to learn whether or not the Lord had made his journey successful when the camels had finished
Starting point is 00:06:53 drinking the man the man took out of gold nose ring weighing a beca in two gold bracelets and weighing 10 shekels. Then he asked, whose daughter are you? Please tell me.
Starting point is 00:07:11 Is there a room in your father's house for us to spend the night? She answered him, I am the daughter of Bethel, the son of Milka aboard to know her. And she added, we have plenty of straw and fodder,
Starting point is 00:07:26 as well has room has room for you to spend the night. You see, the servant prayed in his heart for his master Abraham by saying, Oh, Lord, God of my master Abraham, give me success today and show kindness to my master Abraham. See, I am standing beside the spring, and the daughters of my townspeople are coming now to draw water. May it be that when I say to a girl, please let down your jar that I may have a drink and she says drink and I'll wire your camels too let her be the one you have chosen for your servant Isaac by this I will know that you have shown kindness to my master
Starting point is 00:08:19 so there was praying for there was praying for success and show of kindness is what we was prayed for. So, like it says here in school, you might pray in your heart whenever, when you are about to take a test. Like, you took all the lessons, you take the quiz, and you're prepared for the final test. And you pray in your heart that through all the lessons and all the quizzes and all the study guides and everything that you've learned from, that you will get through the test. You might pray in your heart when you have to perform in front of an audience. Like you may pray in your heart that you will get through the PowerPoint or the talent show
Starting point is 00:09:44 that you perform through in front of your students, colleagues, teachers, staff. You see every major thing. You pray in your heart that you get the opportunity and you get past the opportunity to get to the final stage. And with all that you learned, praying that in your heart that you'll get through the first. final stage of the opportunity that you went past and got and went through the door of the opportunity and made it made it through the success door through the opportunity door to that
Starting point is 00:10:33 destination you're trying to get to and you see with everything in life when you pray in your heart it can it make them true Because when the servant prayed in his heart for success and showing kindness to the master, Abraham, it came true. So praying in your heart through an opportunity, something to happen, pray for it, and it'll happen through your prayer. So I hope everyone enjoy this interesting and Bowery. Remember to look back at the reflections of ourselves in the mirror
