Positivity Successor episode 341.
Continue on with the Bible. Let's get into it.
Praise be to the Lord.
given rest to his people, Israel, just as he promised.
Not one word has failed of all the good promises he gave through his servant, Moses.
May the Lord our God be with us as he was with our fathers.
May he never leave us nor forsake us.
May he turn our hearts to him to walk in all his ways.
and to keep the commands, decrease in regulations he gave our fathers.
And made these words of mine, which I prayed before the Lord,
being near to the Lord our God, day and night,
that he may uphold the cause of his servant and the cause of his people, Israel,
according to each day's need,
so that all the peoples of the earth,
may know that the Lord is God and that there is no other.
But your hearts must be fully committed to the Lord our God
to live by his decrees and obey his commands at this time.
The dedication of the temple.
Then the king in all Israel with them offered sacrifices before the Lord.
Solomon offered a sacrifice of fellowship offerings to the Lord,
22,000 cattle, and 120,000 sheep and goats.
So the king and all the Israelites dedicated the temple of the Lord.
On that same day, the king incarcerated the middle part of the courtyard,
in front of the temple of the Lord.
And there he offered burnt offerings, grain offerings,
and the fat of the fellowship offerings,
because the bronze altar before the Lord was too small
to hold the burnt offerings.
The grain offerings and the fat of the fellowship offerings.
So Solomon observed the festival,
at that time.
And all Israel with them, a vast assembly.
People from Labu, Hamath,
to the Wadi of Egypt.
They celebrated it before the Lord our God
for seven days and seven days more,
14 days in all.
On the following day, he sent the people away.
they blessed the king and then went home.
Joyful and gladden heart for all the good things the Lord has done for his servant David and his people Israel.
The Lord appears to Solomon 9.
When Solomon had finished building the temple of the Lord and the royal palace,
and had achieved all he had desired to do,
the Lord appeared to him a second time
as he had appeared to him at Gibbon.
The Lord said to him,
I've heard the prayer and plead
and plea you have made before me.
I have concentrated this temple,
which you have built by putting my name there forever.
My eyes and my heart will always be there,
as for you, if you walk before me in integrity of heart and uprightness, as David your father did,
and do all I command and observe my decrees in laws, I will establish your royal throne.
Israel forever, as I promised David your father, when I said,
You shall never fail to have a man on the throne of Israel.
But if you or your sons turn away from me and do not observe the commands and to crease have given you and go off to serve other gods and worship them,
then I will cut off Israel from the land I have given them and will reject this temple I have concentrated for my name.
Israel will then become a byword
and an object of ridicule among all peoples
And though this temple is now imposing
All who passed by will be appalled
And will scoff and say
Why has the Lord
Done such a thing to this land
and to this temple
People will answer
Because they have forsaken the Lord
Their God
Who brought their fathers out of Egypt
And have embraced other gods
Worshipping and serving them
That is why the Lord
Has
That is why the Lord brought
All this disaster on them
Solomon's other activities
At the end of 20 years,
during which Solomon built these two buildings, the temple of the Lord and the royal palace.
King Solomon gave 20 towns in Galilee to Haram, King of Tyree, because Haram had supplied him
with all the setter and pine and gold he wanted.
But when Haram went from Tyree to see the towns that Solomon,
had given him.
He was not pleased with them.
What kind of towns are these you have given me?
My brother, he asked.
And he called them the land of Kabul,
a name they have to this day.
Now Haram had spent to the king 120 talents of gold.
Here's the account of the forced labor.
King Solomon conscripted to build the Lord's temple, his own palace, the supporting terraces, his own palace, the wall of Jerusalem, and Hazer, McGittal, and Gezer.
Pharaoh, King of Egypt had attacked and captured Gezer.
he had set it on fire.
He killed its Canaanite inhabitants
and then gave it as a wedding gift to his daughter,
Solomon's wife, and Solomon rebuilt Gezer.
He built up Lower Beth Horan,
Balaf and Tadmore.
In the desert, within his land,
as well as all his store cities within the towns for his chariots and for his horses.
Whoever he desired to build in Jerusalem, he'll abandon and throughout all the territory he ruled,
all the people left from the Amarites, Hedites, Peresites, Hivites, and Jibisites.
These peoples were not Israelites.
that is, the descendants remaining in the land,
whom the Israelites cannot exterminate
these Solomon conscripted for his slave labor force,
as it is to the day.
But Solomon did not make slaves of any of the Israelites.
They were his fighting men, his government officials,
his officers, his captains, and the commanders of the chariots and charioteers.
They were also the chief officers in charge of Solomon's projects,
550 officials supervising the men who did the work.
After Pharaoh's daughter had come up from the city of David to the palace Solomon,
had built for her.
He constructed the supporting terraces.
Three times a year,
Solomon sacrificed burnt offerings
and fellowship offerings.
On the altar, he had built
for the Lord,
burning incense before the Lord
along with them,
and so fulfilled the temple obligations.
King Solomon,
also built ships at Zion Jebber,
which is near Elath and Adam,
on the shore of the Red Sea,
and Haram sent his men.
Sailors who knew the sea to serve in the fleet with Solomon's men,
they sailed to offer and brought back 420,
talents of gold, which they delivered to King Solomon.
And that's what we're going to stop.
We'll pick back up with the Queen of Sheba,
Visit Solomon 10.
Words to treasure.
The Lord has kept the promise he made.
One, Kings 8.20.
Let's live it.
One Kings 8, 41 through 43.
Remembering an answer.
prayers. King Solomon prayed when he dedicated the great temple to God in Jerusalem. Read one Kings 841 through 43.
Why did Solomon want God to answer the prayers of foreigners? Answered prayers is still a good way to help people learn that God is real.
pray about a friend's problem or suggest to your friend to pray about the problem.
When God answers the prayer, it will help your friend know that God is real.
In a small notebook, lists the people or problems that you are praying for.
When God answers your prayer, write the date and the answer next to the prayer in your notebook.
This will help you to remember to praise God for answering your prayers
and it will make you more and more sure that God is real.
