Welcome to Positiveity Successor episode 347.
Continue on with the Bible. Let's get into it.
Did you know what were Israel and Judah?
15.1.25.
After Solomon had died, his kingdom was divided.
The southern part of his kingdom became a separate nation called Judah.
The northern part of his kingdom became a separate nation called Israel.
The first king of Judah was Riobone, and the first king of Israel was Jerobone.
And the rest of one kings and then two kings.
Israel and Judah are the names given to these two separate nations.
Basha, king of Israel.
In the third year of Azah, king of Judah, Basha, son of Ahijah, became king of all Israel and Tursa.
And he reigned 24 years, hit it evil in the eyes of the Lord, walking the ways of the ways.
of Jerobo and his sin, which he had caused Israel to commit.
16.
Then the word of the Lord came to Jehu, son of Hanani, against Basha.
I lifted you up from the dust and made you a leader of my people, Israel.
But you walked in the ways of Jerobam and caused my people Israel to sit.
and to provoke me to anger by their sins.
So I am about to consume Basha in his house.
I will make your house like that of Jerobo,
son on a bat.
Dogs will eat those belonging to Basha who die in the city,
and the birds of the air will feed on those who die in the country.
as for the other events of Basha's reign
What he did in his achievements
Are they not written in the book of the
Annos of the kings of Israel?
Basha rested with his fathers
and was buried in Terzaa
And Ila, his son succeeded him as king
Moreover, the word the Lord came through
The prophet Jehu
Son of Hanani
to Basha in his house
because of all the evil
he had done in the eyes of the Lord
provoking him to anger
by the things he did
and becoming like
the house of Jerobam
and also because he destroyed it
Elah King of Israel
In the 26th year of
Azah king of Judah
Eli son of Basha
became king of Israel
and he reigned in Tersia
two years. Zimri, one of his officials
who had command of half his chariots,
plotted against him.
Eli was in Terza at the time.
Getting drunk in the house of Arza,
the man in charge of the palace,
at Tursa.
Zimri came in,
struck him down and killed him
in the 27th year of Oz.
a king of Judah. Then he succeeded him as king. As soon as he began to reign, it was seated on the throne.
He killed off Basha's whole family. He did not spare a single male, whether relative or friend.
So Zimri destroyed the whole family of Basha in accordance with the word of the Lord,
spoken against Basha through the prophet Jehu. Because of all the sins,
Basha and his son Eli had committed and had caused Israel to commit so that they provoked the Lord, the God of Israel, to anger by their worthless idols.
As for the other events of Eli's reign, and all he did, are they not written in the book of the annals of the kings of Israel?
Zimri, King of Israel.
In the 27th year of Azah, King of Judah, Zimri reigned in Tursa.
Seven days.
The army was encamped near Gibbethon, a Philistine town.
When the Israelites in the camp heard that Zimri had plotted against the king and murdered him,
they proclaimed Omri, the commander of the army, king over Israel that very day there in the camp.
Then Amri and all of his,
Israelites with him withdrew from Gibbathon and laid siege to Tursa.
When Zimri saw that the city was taken, he went into the citadel of the royal palace
and set the palace on fire around him. So he died because of the sins he had committed
doing evil in the eyes of the Lord and walking in the ways of Jerobam. And in that sin he had committed
and had caused Israel to commit.
As for the other events of Zimri's reign and the rebellion he carried out,
are they not written in the book of the annals of the kings of Israel?
Omri, King of Israel.
Then the people of Israel were split into two factions.
Half supported Timni, son of Ganneth for king,
and the other half supported Amri.
But Amri's followers proved stronger than those of Timney's son of Ghanath.
So Timney died and Amri became king.
In the 31st year of Azah, king of Judah, Amri became king of Israel.
And he reigned 12 years, six of them in Turza.
He bought the hill.
of Samaria from
Shemmer
for two talents of silver
and built a city on
the hill. Connard's
Samaria after Shemmer
the name of the
former owner of the hill.
But Omri
did evil in the eyes of the Lord
and sinned more than
all those before him.
He walked in all the ways of
Jerobam,
son on a bat, and in his
sin which he had caused Israel to commit so that they provoked the Lord, the God of Israel, to anger by
their worthless idols. As for the other events of Amri's reign, what did he did and the things he
achieved, are they not written in the book of the annals of the kings of Israel? Amri rested
with his fathers and was buried in Samaria and Ahab.
his son succeeded him as king.
Ahab becomes king of Israel.
In the 38th year of Azah, king of Judah,
Ahab, son of Amri, became king of Israel,
and he reigned in Samaria over Israel 22 years.
Ahab, son of Amri, did more evil in the eyes of the Lord than any of those before him.
He not only considered it trivial to commit the sins of Jerobo, son of Nabat,
but he also married Jezebel's daughter of Ethbal, king of the Sedonians,
and began to serve Ball and worship him.
He set up an altar for Ball in the temple of Ball that he built in Samaria.
Ahab also made an Assyrian.
Pohl and then more to provoke the Lord, the God of Israel, to anger then did all the kings of Israel before him.
In Ahab's time, Heal of Bethel rebuilds Jericho.
He laid its foundations at the cost of his firstborn, son Abraham.
and he set up its gates at the cost of his youngest son, Sigub,
in accordance with the word the Lord spoken by Joshua, son of none.
And that's where we're going to stop.
We'll pick back up with Elijah fed by Ravens, 17.
Did you know how many good kings did Israel have?
1630.
Not one king of Israel,
worshipped God. They all did evil in the eyes of the Lord. Many evil kings of Israel are listed
in one king's 15-16-th-16. The worst king of all was Ahab, who was the enemy of Elijah, the prophet.
People in Bible times. Elijah was a prophet who loved and obeyed God. He was not afraid of the evil
being a hub or his wicked wife, Jezebel.
God gave Elijah power to do great miracles to show the people that the Lord was the one and only true God.
