Welcome to Positive Positive 385. Today's topic what we're talking about is acting foolishly. So let's get into it. Acting foolishly. Foolishly, I would say it's not a bad thing.

It is a bad thing, but you can learn from it. You see, foolishly isn't a bad thing. It can be a bad thing. It's a learning experience that we can take to be our, better versions of ourselves, to be better within ourselves. You see, it's an action that we sometimes can't control and you may say stuff that is foolish or act a certain way that is foolish,

but you may not even recognize it or realize it until the person across from you. or in a group or somebody points it out, points out the obvious. And you see, that's where mistakes and losses come in because foolish mistakes and losses all have one thing in common. And it's all that we can learn from. We can learn how to learn from the mistakes that we, endure, learn from the losses we encounter, and learn from the foolishness that we interact from ourselves.

Because in Let's Live it, 1 Samuel 13, 5 through 14, acting foolishly, Eric's dad was supposed to come home in the afternoon to take Eric fishing. By the middle of the afternoon, Eric was tired of waiting. He took his pull, dug a few worms, hopped on his bike, and went to the river to fish by himself. Half an hour later, Eric's dad found him. Eric, why didn't you wait? We were supposed to go fishing with Mr. Carson and his bass boat until late tonight. It was was a special surprise for you, but Mr. Carson has already left. Now it's too late. You should have waited. Read 1 Samuel 13, 5 through 14. Saul didn't wait either. Eric missed out on a fishing trip because he didn't wait. What Saul missed is recorded in 1 Samuel 1314. Eric and Saul were both impatient.

More than that, they both disobeyed. Can you see from these stories how important it is to be patient and to obey? Read 1 Samuel 13 5 through 14. What Saul missed is recorded in 1 Samuel 1314. Samuel Rebuke Saul 13. Saul was 30 years old when he became king. and he reigned over Israel 42 years. Saul chose 3,000 men from Israel.

2,000 were with them at McMash, and in the hill country of Bethel, and 1,000 were with Jonathan at Ghibeah and Benjamin. The rest of the men he sent back to their homes. Jonathan attacked the Philistine outpost at Jeba and the Philistines heard about it then Saul had the trumpet blown throughout the land

and said let the Hebrews hear so all Israel heard the news Saul has attacked the Philistine outpost and now Israel has become a stench to the Philistines and the people were summoned to join Saul at Gilgau. The Philistines assembled to fight Israel with 3,000 chariots, 6,000 charioteers, and soldiers as numerous has the sand on the seashore. They went up and camped at McMash, east of Beth Avon,

When the men of Israel saw that their situation was critical and that their army was hard pressed, they hid in caves and thickets among the rocks and in pits and cissettes among the rocks in pits and that cisterns. Some Hebrews even crossed the Jordan to the land of Gad and Gilead. Saul remained at Gilgale and all the troops with him were quaking with fear. He waited seven days. The time sat by Samuel, but Samuel did not come to Gilgall, and Saul's men began to scatter. So he said, bring me the burnt offering and the fellowship offerings,

and Saul offered up the burnt offering, just as he finished making the offering. Samuel arrived and. and Saul went out to greet him. What have you done? asked Samuel. Saul replied, when I saw that the men were scattering and that you did not come at the sad time

and that the Philistines were assembling at Mish, McMash, I thought now the Philistines will come down against me at Gilgale, and I have not sought the Lord's favor. So I felt compelled to offer, the burnt offering. You acted foolishly, Samuel said.

You have not kept the command the Lord your God gave you. If you had, he would have established your kingdom over Israel for all time. But now your kingdom will not endure.

The Lord has sought out a man after his own heart and appointed him leader of his people, because you have not kept the Lord's command. And Samuel left Gilgau and went up to Ghibeah and Benjamin, and Saul counted the men who were with them. They numbered about 600.

Israel without weapons. Saul and his son Jonathan and the men with them were staying in Gabia and Benjamin, while the Philistines camped and McMash raiding party. went out from the Philistine camp and three detachments. One turned toward Opra in the vicinity of Shul. Another toward Beth Horan. And the third toward the borderland overlooking the valley of Ziboim facing the desert. Not a blacksmith could be found in the whole land of Israel.

So on the day of the battle, not a soldier would sell and Jonathan had a sword or spear in his hand. Only saw in his son Jonathan had them. I think there's two in that passage that I feel like is acted foolishly. the first one was when when saul said that there was a set time that the philistines were assembly on mcmash and then then samuel

no wait so so so samuel samuel samuel thought there was a time set for for the assembling at mcmash and then saul started early. He didn't want to wait. Saul didn't want to wait for Samuel or any other people. So he acted, Saul acted foolishly and went, went right away when there was no, no communication with Saul,

with Saul and Samuel in the, in the people, about going at the set time, but they went early. So Saul acted foolishly of going early instead of going with Samuel and the people at the same time. The other the other acted foolishly part

is when Saul and Jonathan have swords and spears but not have have any equipment or gear in time for all the men that are fighting with them. Like, how can you not have gear for your soldiers, too? Like, Sol and Jonathan acted foolishly by having them only have, by having them only have swords and stuff, when all the soldiers should have had swords and stuff too. Like it's a team effort.

Like it's a team effort and they decided to go with them to, instead of sharing with the flock. And that resonates with the fishing story that we read and let's live it. Eric, Eric going fishing early without waiting for dad to come home. And Eric got tired of waiting so we went fishing. on his own and missed out on Mr. Carson's invite to go fishing with them too. So Eric was impatient. Saul was impatient.

And then Saul and Jonathan became impatient as well. The lesson is that patience is a, is a virtue. I learned that from other podcasts I read. And also, I am a patient man too. I obey the law, rules and regulations and everything in this world. There are universal laws also has followed because the universal laws also inquire us to follow our purpose and destiny throughout life.

So life lesson is to be patient on what you're going to do. Because if you do something impatient that you're supposed to be patient on, then it can mess up a schedule or conflict with other people when you don't communicate the play that you're doing because if you're impatient then stuff messes up
