Mari Llewellyn.
My friend Mari.
Welcome to the pursuit of wellness.
Merry Christmas, pal girls.
Aw, that was perfect.
Merry Christmas, guys. Welcome to the Christmas Day episode. I am joined by Fiona.
Hi, guys. Happy to be here again.
Merry, Merry Christmas. Merry Christmas Day. I will say, if you couldn't tell, both of us are so unwell today.
Yeah, extremely.
But we would never leave you guys hanging. Like we knew we needed to power through for today's episode
because we didn't want to leave you guys hanging
and we have a really cute episode planned.
And if you hear us sniffling, coughing, sneezing,
just know we're doing it for you.
Here we are.
No pressure. So thanks guys for joining us today if you're watching on video right now you may notice I'm wearing a little hat guys this is
actually kind of crazy because we have been working on this hat for what like six months at this point
yeah the idea definitely started like six months ago and I have to say not that you guys necessarily care about this but we didn't go through a merch company
a lot of podcasts use merch companies because it's easier you just slap a logo on something
we didn't do it that way we designed it from scratchity scratch scratch we came up with the
copy we wanted on the hat which you can see is
in my healing era wait let me take it off so i could actually show you guys each detail so the
hat says in my healing era in super cute font and it says pursuit of wellness underneath
we chose this like really cute taupe color and this dark green, which I feel like kind of gives like bloom pursuit of wellness vibes,
super on brand.
And Fi is like really, really, really into hats.
And she knew we wanted to go with this brand of hat,
which is an auto hat, which is like a very high quality brand hat.
Fi, want to add anything?
I love it.
I mean, yeah, it was definitely a process sourcing the hat
and the color we wanted.
And then even the design process with the designer we worked with was a lot of back and forth. But I
feel like what we landed on, we love and we're just so excited for you guys to be able to wear them.
And these launch on January 8th.
Yes, Monday, January 8th.
Monday, January 8th. We will have a PAL website at that point.
I did post the newsletter that I started.
So I will put that up again on the PAL page for you guys to subscribe.
So you get alerted when the hats come out.
We got a limited quantity because we've never sold a product from PAL.
So we didn't want to go too crazy.
So there's a limited stock.
So if you want one, highly recommend you hop on it before they run out.
Get a wild hat.
And I'm so excited.
I mean, we only have one in our possession right now.
Fi was going to wear one too, obviously.
She decided to go with her Christmas bow instead, which is also a vibe.
Cindy Lou Hill.
But I can't wait to match in our hats.
Oh, I know.
I'm going to wear mine every day.
In our Healing Era hats.
Hot girl walks in our Healing Era hats.
Oh my God. Yeah. I actually think we should do like a pow walk again where we all wear these hats.
Iconic.
Iconic. The judge is so cute. And yeah, I'm so proud of this hat. So I'm so excited we could tell you guys finally.
Okay. Another little announcement. I have a bloom code for you guys. So I'm quite under the weather right now as is Fi, as is honestly everyone I know. Yeah. So I've been doubling up on my greens. What's your fave
flavor right now? I always go between coconut and mango. Those are kind of my classic two favorites.
Just depends what I'm feeling that day. But that's what i've been taking every day and it definitely is helping i have to say it is helping i know and i feel like if i travel without
them i can tell oh yeah so yeah we've been up in our greens game lately so greg was kind enough to
give me a code pow 15 for 15 off and guys he is very stingy with the codes like he doesn't give
anyone a code and i had to beg him and i was like it. Like he doesn't give anyone a code. And I had to beg him
and I was like, it's the holidays. The POW girls need a code. So it's POW15, P-O-W-15 for 15% off
the Bloom website, which is www.bloomnew.com. Okay. So what we thought for today's episode
is that Fi and I would share some updates we have on our personal, basically on like anything wellness,
anything that's trending in the health and wellness space, anything that we're trying right now,
kind of just like a little newsy like update of what's going on in the wellness world. And we
thought we would discuss it together. And then after that, we are going to go ahead and listen
to your guys' voice message submissions. We recently opened
a voice message system so we could listen to you guys ask us questions and answer you,
which is so exciting. I can't wait to hear what you guys asked. I'm kind of worried, actually.
We peeked at a couple and they were really cute. So cute.
Like they actually like brought a tear to my eye. It was so cool to hear people's
actual voices and them leaving a message.
But then I stopped listening because I want to have a real, real reaction.
And I was like, let me get out of here.
Yes.
Hopefully no one's mean.
Well, imagine we play an episode.
Y'all are bitches.
I suck.
I hate pal.
Oh, that'd be so cool.
Oh my God.
If someone went out of their way
to leave a voicemail like that, I mean.
We need to be humble to do that.
Oh yeah, it's fine.
I can't laugh too hard I'm gonna explode.
Do you want to start first with your uh trends or would you like me to begin? I mean you go ahead I've been talking for a fat minute I could use a breather my throat. All right so something I
very recently started as of like a week and a half ago. And it's been around for some time.
Mari's staring at me like, what are you about to say?
Yeah, because I don't know what it is.
I mentioned it to you.
I showed you a photo.
You really don't show that to anybody.
What?
I started mouth taping at night.
Oh, yeah.
And doing a nose strip, you guys.
Oh, my.
Okay.
Nose strip, a media game changer.
Do I understand how the technology works absolutely not you put
that little butterfly nose thing opens up your nose immediately i do not understand how it works
i put it on and kenny was like how does that help i'm like i don't know but i can instantly breathe
so that at night yeah game changer i mean you know greg wears one all day every day so honestly i've
seen greg wearing them for months now and i was influenced by the way guys everyone who thinks greg got a nose job because he's constantly wearing a nose
strip no he just can't breathe that people think he got a nose job that's really funny someone said
let's address the elephant in the room okay got a nose job he needs one frankly he can't breathe
but it's it's surprising to me that that helps you because you kind of have like a really nice perfect nose. I think it literally just the way it, I don't know.
I literally don't understand.
But the moment I put it on, my nose airways are open.
Do you snore?
I don't really snore.
I don't think.
Unless I'm like sick or I've had some beverages.
But no, it really helps.
So I've been implementing that.
Love.
I did mouth tape the other night.
I realized I was coming down, but that's kind of when my cold started getting worse and I really couldn't breathe.
So it probably wasn't the best time to try it out.
But it was really cool.
Like, if anything, it made me so conscious of how much I was mouth breathing at night,
which I think also kind of leads to you getting sick easier
and like a million other things.
Can I tell you something I just realized?
What?
And I forgot to tell you.
What?
On our flight from Austin.
Was I like?
Your mouth was so wide open while you were sleeping.
And I was like, oh my God, she's a mouth breather.
And I have to tell her.
And I'm telling you now.
You know what's crazy?
You know when you're like walking down the aisle
to like pee in the middle of the flight
and people are passed out and you see them
and they're like,
that was you.
And you're like, oh God, they're like embarrassing.
I literally thought that on that flight
because I was like, that's definitely how I sleep.
It is.
Baking season is upon us.
Greg and I have been a little under the weather
and whenever Gregreg's sick
he's like a giant baby and requests baked goods which i'm not complaining about because i love
too and that's where i found stella eats because i want to stay healthy and you guys know how
important clean ingredients are to me so stella eats is grain free baking mixes made with eight
or less real ingredients like almonds, coconut and dates.
They have so many different mix options like carrot cake, banana bread, coffee cake and they're
also gluten-free, paleo-friendly and naturally sweetened with coconut and date sugars but guys
these really taste like the real thing. The last thing I want is to be making like a healthy cake mix and for it to taste like
cement or cardboard and these taste so like the real thing I mean I don't think Greg even noticed
to be honest the taste and texture are just like traditional or conventional treats plus this brand
was started by three women which we love a female founded brand they were frustrated with diet
culture and how healthy eating is made all about how you look
and not how you feel. You guys know I'm all about how you feel. And it's really possible to eat
healthy and fun at the same time. I love the way I eat. And I feel like this brand is all about that.
They are on a mission to change the way wellness brands speak to consumers. You guys can visit
StellaEats.com and use code POW, P-O-W, at checkout for 20%
off your first purchase. That's S-T-E-L-L-A-R-E-A-T-S.com. Use code POW for 20% off your
first order. Stella Eats is also available at Whole Foods stores nationwide.
I don't want to flex, but I've been nose breathing since I was born.
I'm a mouth.
I've always been a mouth breather.
I think it's something even with like my asthma I had in the past.
Like when I was a soccer player, when I was eight,
I would run down the field like,
and do you know what?
For anyone listening who doesn't know about this concept of mouth breathing versus nose breathing,
look it up with Andrew Huberman. he has such a good explanation of it yeah they literally have done clinical trials of
two twins one who's a nose breather one who's a mouth breather and shown how they grow up and
aesthetically like yeah they say it like makes your face look better i was gonna just read a
couple benefits they said it can boost your immunity, deepen your sleep, even improve your appearance.
Like, I think it helps with your jaw.
Well, that's what I was going to say.
The twins growing up together, one becomes outrageously ugly,
the mouth breather, and then the nose breather becomes gorgeous.
What are you trying to say, Mari?
I'm not.
Not Mari starting this segment.
I'm a nose breather.
No.
I started this by saying you have a perfect nose. Thank you. I'm not. Not Mari starting this segment. I'm a nose breather. No. I started this by saying you have a perfect nose.
Thank you.
I'm not saying that.
I'm saying you're honestly outrageously gorgeous
given that you're a mouth breather.
Thank you.
Imagine what I could look like if I was a nose breather.
It'd be over for you bitches.
It would be over for you bitches.
Listen, we'd be sitting with Margot Robbie right now.
Bella Hadid's definitely a nose breather.
Yeah.
And Margot Robbie.
Well, Bella Hadid has a nose job.
Oh. Touche. But do you know what i think of with this guys is think of dogs who have squished in
noses like pugs and they can't breathe or frenchies not that they're like ugly but they're
like ugly cute you know they always have outrageous health issues because they're mouth breathers
and then you have less of that issue
with like a lab or something with like a longer nose. I'm a pug. All of our dogs though are nose
breathers. Yeah, Benny's definitely a nose breather. Yeah, which is great. Right. So we don't have to
worry about that. But I just like to say that example and definitely look into this guys because
it is really important. Yeah, I mean the benefits, I've seen it all over TikTok and stuff. And then
yeah, like Andrew Huberman, I know, has talked about it.
But I wanted to give it a try.
Maybe once I'm not quite as sick, I'll do it again.
But I took a photo of myself wearing the mouth tape and the nose strip the other night and showed Mari.
And it was definitely not my most flattering photo ever.
She was like, just like, don't post that anywhere.
I said, thanks, Mari.
I feel like you would have gotten canceled for it.
Oh. Most people get like kind of like subtle mouth tape
where it's like see-through and like this.
You got.
Mine's like a giant black.
Maybe I'll find a photo.
Maybe I'll take a new photo to insert with it or something.
Yeah.
It looks like a giant.
Almost like, you know,
those lip masks that people wear sometimes.
It's that, but it's giant and black. It's so it's so big yeah okay let's get my update okay okay my most recent update is that
i started taking bioidentical progesterone now i'm not a doctor i'm gonna just lay that out right now
i'm not saying anyone should take this i'm not you know prescribing progesterone to anyone i just
want to talk about it because it has changed my
life. I obviously have done extensive lab work on my hormones, blood work. You guys know this. I
talk about it in every single episode. And I essentially have been making 0.1% progesterone
for years and years and years, which is not nearly enough. Progesterone is the hormone
that eases anxiety, helps with depression, overall just makes
you feel happier and able to deal with stress. So the fact that I make none is quite telling
because I do have really, really bad anxiety. I asked Emily, my doctor, she's not a doctor,
she's an integrative health practitioner. Thank you for clarifying. You're welcome.
I asked her, why don't I make enough progesterone and she
said oftentimes women who own businesses or work out a lot who are kind of living in their masculine
stop making progesterone she also told me she stopped making it because she had a lot of
concussions from soccer practice which I thought was really interesting so I was a bit nervous
about taking progesterone because I'd heard negative things about it for some reason.
Like people said that it maybe caused breast cancer
and I was just like kind of sus.
But then the more I looked into it,
there's like tons of benefits.
And also if you're trying to conceive
and you don't have enough progesterone,
a lot of times you'll miscarry.
You need to have a lot of progesterone
or you need to have a healthy amount of progesterone in order to times you'll miscarry you need to have a lot of progesterone or you need
to have a healthy amount of progesterone in order to keep your baby healthy and keep it alive i think
you even take it during pregnancy no maybe i want to say i either saw on tiktok or some creator
saying how she was like stopping her progesterone because she was about to give birth or something
like okay so maybe i don't don't quote me but i feel like it's like something maybe you take the
whole time well it helps you not miscarry yeah um which is kind of crazy so Emily was like yes so many people
conceive and then can't keep the baby because they don't have enough progesterone like this
is apparently a very common issue so I was prescribed slow release bioidentical progesterone
and they told me they were like do you feel like you're ever uptight
and I was like my whole personality is uptight what do you mean and they were like well this
might help with that and literally within I want to say four or five days of taking progesterone I
felt completely different and I feel completely different and I I know it's like funny that I'm uptight and have anxiety
whatever but genuinely walking around in my daily life when I was just sort of thinking to myself
like my thoughts were generally what could go wrong locking and obsessing on thoughts and ideas
that weren't even logical like I genuinely kind of like on a day-to-day basis was really struggling to to have a positive
mindset like that is something I've always had a hard time with and I work really hard on
kind of manufacturing that myself this progesterone I feel like I'm just happy like when I come home
from work I'm like joking around with Greg and I just feel overall happier a lot more laid back we were
traveling last week and I was all such a good example yeah so usually I'll say we usually when
we travel Mari's like we need to get there three hours early we need to be the first people get on
the plane like just very like which I get but so we get there we're like a little closer on time
like you know we got there maybe an hour and a half early. And then there was something I was freaking out about.
And she was like, it's going to be fine.
And I was like, I finally looked at her.
I was like, who are you?
Like, why am I freaking out?
And you're so unfazed.
I've never seen this in my life.
And she's like, oh, it's that progesterone working.
Well, that's such a good example.
Because normally it's me panicking.
And you're like, happy-go-lucky.
They took our bags because we had brought
carry-on bags and we were so proud of the fact that we had these tiny lightweight carry-on bags
and they ended up taking them and a fee was like oh i'm gonna freak out i hate this i was like it's
gonna be fine she's like this is we brought carry-on bags for a reason but anyway that's a
good example yeah that really got me worked up i'm sorry sorry to flex i
usually bring a 55 pound checked bag i'm paying extra for that me and mari were like we're gonna
carry on our bags we're gonna be simple we're gonna bring one outfit yeah we get there i get
to the gate we were like a late boarding group and the woman goes oh you're gonna have to check
that i go i was like just i told her i said i've never done this before and I'd really like to bring this bag
on board with me and what was the best part Mari we get on the plane and we get to our seat so much
room and how many bags are overhead our aisle so much room for us none all right our whole thing
was it's fine I was I was very worked up about the whole flight Mari's like it's done and I was
like that was ridiculous it's fine it all worked out but there was it that was a moral of the story everyone should look into getting
progesterone because it changed my life and I just think why aren't people talking about this
I actually wrote down some of the benefits eases anxiety promotes memory I've noticed that
helps to prevent overgrowth of certain types of cells which can help protect against some cancers
including those of the breast or uterus so it helps prevent breast cancer helps with symptoms
of pms increases ability to handle stress helps with the metabolism assists with preventing plaque
from forming on the artery walls helps to lower triglycerides essential for bone growth helps with the thyroid gland
helps slow aging improves insomnia improves libido which i've definitely noticed oh sorry thank you
for sharing with the class wait so i have a question though yeah so if you naturally make
enough of this you're good still are we still getting those benefits yeah okay you're showing like you
should take if you're if you don't have healthy levels you should take something because those
are things that can help but like if you make it yeah that's what it helps with yeah this is the
job of progesterone but if you haven't got any like well I'm like these sound amazing should
I be taking more but I feel like you don't like have horrible anxiety like i feel like you have progesterone you're like pretty calm yeah i've always been kind of jealous of your calmness okay your turn
so i know mari has talked many times about her sauna ing i don't know if that's a word her going
in the sauna i unfortunately in my space don't have room for a giant wood barrel sauna. So I recently got a infrared sauna. Sorry, an infrared like mat
sauna blanket. That's what it's called. An infrared sauna blanket that you can just lay down on the
floor in your house. Game changer. It gets so hot. It is so relaxing. I'm obsessed with the sauna blanket.
I lay it down on my floor in my living room and crank it up to like the highest level,
let it heat up for five, 10 minutes, get in, put on like friends or whatever I'm feeling like
watching and lay there for 45 minutes. Soaked. Like it is amazing. And then I just hop in the
shower. It's such a nice way to unwind I like make it
all dark in my apartment it's so lovely my dog comes and sits like right on my head and we just
vibe out and it is amazing and if you've thought about getting one I know it can be a bit of an
investment up front but it is a lot more I feel like budget friendly than like an actual sauna
I know they also make like one person saunas that you can put
that are like a little cubes, a little cube.
But I think these blankets are a game changer.
And you can like, I've seen people like lay them on their bed.
That makes me nervous.
Also, I'm like, do I want to be sweating all over that?
But I just lay mine on the floor on a yoga mat.
And it is amazing.
Sleigh.
Yeah.
I love the fact that you're getting sauna sessions in so easily.
I mean, I can imagine
that makes it almost easier than even going outside to a barrel. Like you just slip in a
blanket. No, it's right there. And like, you know, we get our spray tans occasionally. So it like
helps when I'm ready to get that off. I just sweat it right off. Do you wash it? So I was telling my
stepdad about this and he was like, this sounds very unsanitary. Of course, that's your approach.
You open it up after to like let it kind of air out.
I do lay a towel down on the bottom of it because it gets really hot.
Like I actually got out one day and had like almost like beams of like red down my back.
Like it must be like...
Oh, you were like a grilled burger.
No, I literally...
Yes.
I literally looked like a piece of meat.
No, I had lines down my back and I think I was
going to get a spray tan. And I was like, this woman's going to be like, not the summer barbecue
happening over there. Like just beams down my whole back, but they went away. But I lay a towel
down. Then after that, once it's cooled off and unplugged, you can just wipe it down with like
kind of any like antibacterial, whatever you want to use to keep it clean and then let it air out.
And then, yeah, I love that. And now we know from Dr. Anthony Yoon that we're not worried about your boobs.
Yes.
Yeah, guys, you probably have listened to that episode by now, right? Or not? Okay. Well,
if you haven't, Dr. Anthony Yoon is this amazing plastic surgeon who's viral on TikTok. And we
asked him about boob implants and if they melt in saunas. And he said no. He said he microwaved
one for like 20 minutes and it was fine. They didn't do anything.
They can sustain like incredible amounts of heat.
Or a truck.
Yeah, you can run them over.
So you'd survive if you got run over.
Just on that area.
That sounds like a scary movie scene.
That does give like Anna Farrow.
Yeah, yeah.
I already know we're going to listen back to this episode
and be like, we sound like Squidward.
Like I sound like Squidward.
Every time I laugh, I'm like,
I sound so awful.
I love it.
But yeah, and then, you know, that helps.
There's so many benefits to saunaing,
natural purification process.
It helps.
I swear I've noticed it.
Like it helps with my sleep.
If I do it before night,
it really
just like i feel like brings my nervous system down and like i take a cold shower after hopping
to bed and i'm like out i thought you were gonna say what take a shit i'm sorry i sauna i take a
shit and then i get into bed you said take a shit wait i. Wait, I should add my favorite part of this whole thing.
And this actually leads to that. I get in my sauna blanket and I make a big mason jar of greens
and I drink them in my sauna blanket. And all I'm saying is the next morning, you girls.
Snatched. We're feeling good. Yep. So. I i mean that's honestly a hat bloom greens into sauna
blanket before bed that's a routine that's game changer ladies love that okay love um so all my
updates are about like things i'm taking and guys like before i get into this like i am crazy i'm
not saying that this is like a normal thing that other people should do
but i want to share because i know you guys are interested and think of me as the guinea pig you
know so we talk a lot about peptides on the show and i'm pretty open about the fact that i have
done peptides even though i'm not sure they're legal anymore but you know there was that whole
thing about that and i was like all worried and then like pretty sure they are i don't know if
anything happened i don't know every time something is too beneficial they make it illegal yeah
because pharmaceutical companies get upset if they're not benefiting if they're not making
money off it it's legal anyway I'm taking a couple peptides one of them being for parasites
and one of them is for fertility because I'm in my baby making error and we'll get into that that's my next point in her healing era
in my baby making era because my house is like a factory right now a baby factory you guys
my calendar right now says baby week at the top and Greg's invited to it the details Mari shares
with me I'm like look I know we're close did I need to know about Greg's
balls absolutely not no listen I really if Greg's parents are listening please turn this off
immediately just know that a grandchild is coming anyway um no Greg is fully red lighting his balls and butthole like i walk into my bedroom you guys and he's laying on a pmf mat
legs up red light on his whole situation and one day i was sitting in front of it because
god forbid i got rid of my acne scars he goes oh we got room for two just fully takes over
and i was like honestly no like this red panel isn't big enough for me and your
anyway uh yeah but it actually helps to produce semen guys that's why he's doing that
sauna's bad for that right yes so he actually brings an ice pack in his underwear in the sauna
and holds it on his balls i don't know how greg's gonna feel about you no i'm not really sure listen don't tell him
i'm talking about this power girls this is between me and the power girls this is a girl's chat okay
this is a girl's chat no there's no men in the room no men really listen to the show like i think
we'll be fine and listen if the power girls are trying to get pregnant they want to know have your
men ice his nuts i keep them cool Keep them hanging away from the body.
Don't wear pants that are too tight and red light.
I would recommend.
Oh my God.
Every day he tells me they're bigger and bigger and bigger.
Okay.
And that is where we're going to end that subject.
Oh, okay.
Wait, I'm just going to actually skip the peptides
and talk about my ovulation because...
So the reason this
is baby week for everyone listening oh yes it's because i'm ovulating i'm actually at high fertility
right now and the way i know that guys it's the one day i'm not wearing my aura ring you're wearing
yours but it tracks your temperature and tells you when you're ovulating and when you're at peak
fertility so this week i'm at medium high and i'm peaking on friday so that's
why this is baby week and that's why things are going on know what mara is doing friday night
absolutely baby factory because i was told semen lives alive in you for three days. So ideally, you'd want to have sex every other day.
So it's constantly living in you.
I'm off the rails on this episode.
I think it's the cold.
The images.
I fully didn't plan on talking about this.
I mean, I was going to talk about the aura ring.
Oh, and you can get LH testing strips
to see when you're ovulating
I did one the other day
but what kind of cup do you pee in
cause you're supposed to pee in a cup and then dip the strip
yes I actually I don't even know where
I might have even ordered them from online
I literally got like little like pixie
plastic pixie cups like bathroom cups
cause I'm not gonna like pee into like
a glass that I will use so okay don't do that um i don't know what you've been using i have little dixie cups that
i like will pee into and then test the strip yeah i didn't have a pixie cup so i used a real cup and
i threw it out that was unfortunate good idea even like a red solo cup you know i don't have
that either i don't know what you think i have I'm not throwing parties okay well a little plastic Dixie cup will do the job but yeah no the Oura Ring app is a game changer
yeah it is with sorry Oura Ring with uh it pairs with natural cycles oh so cool and when you pull
up natural cycles there's a calendar and you indicate if you're bleeding or not if you've
had sex or not if you're ovulating or not and yeah it's showing me that i'm
fertile this week it's honestly really nice yeah and it's cool you can do different settings like
i use it as a preventative measure whereas mari obviously is trying to have a baby so you can tell
the app that and then it'll give you red days or green days and green means like in Mari's case green would mean go like it's she should right do the deed then mine will be like
do the deed I feel like I'm in my Victorian era do the deed wow
what do you call it your baby making factory sorry Mari will be yeah yeah love that okay
um when would I know like let's say i
got pregnant this week like when would i know i think it really just depends on every i mean
i have never been there but i think it just depends on everyone's a little different i think
most people notice once they've missed their first cycle so you i'm not sure quite where you are in
your cycle yet but you are you're probably yet, but you, you're probably going to have it. Yeah. Because you're obviously like two weeks into your cycle.
So I guess like in two, three weeks, you'd probably miss it. And then I think this is
the thing because we track, I think we're more on it. A lot of people that like don't track at all.
They just like, they don't know when they're getting their period. And they're probably like,
oh, wow, wait a minute. I feel like I haven't had my period in a while. And then it's been
like two months and they, then they check. So I like I haven't had my period in a while. And then it's been like two months and then they check.
So I think it just depends.
Okay.
Knock on wood.
You guys remember I recently had Dr. Kyle Landry on the show,
who is the co-founder of De La Vie Sciences Skincare.
It was such an interesting episode.
He is a scientist and I
love the fact that this is a science-backed skincare brand all about aging. I'm 29 years
old and I'm really starting to think about what can I do for my skin that's going to prevent
wrinkles and keep me feeling young and fresh for as long as possible. And I feel like I have that
covered with Delevingne v it's clinically tested and scientifically
proven and dermatologist approved ionia age defying skincare contains their patented ingredient
that boosts hyaluronic acid and activates repair enzymes to diminish fine lines and wrinkles
improve skin elasticity and even out the skin tone this has become such a popular skincare brand
that i know kyle told me that celebrities are buying it and it's never in stock because the
ingredients actually work what's currently available are the hydrating eye cream and
restorative serum and the aonia age-defying serum and Aonia Eye Refresh. I think this is such a fantastic brand
to look into if you are thinking about aging and wanting to do something nice for your skin.
They have so much science behind the brand. I highly recommend looking on the website so you
can see exactly what work has gone into this. Visit DelevisSciences.com and use code pow for 20% off your purchase that's d-e-l-a-v-i-e

do you have any more updates i do i have one more this is something i have not tried
but i have seen a lot of people online doing it. Your friend Celeste I know does it. It's like the hair oiling and massaging.
Have you seen this? I mean, kind of. It's big on TikTok. I see a lot of wellness girlies do it.
I think it helps a lot with post-partum hair loss. Yes, post-partum hair loss. But even just like
regular gals, like if you want to try to, you know, make your hair loss. Yes, postpartum hair loss, but even just like, regular gals, like if you wanna,
try to,
you know,
make your hair a little bit thicker,
and even like,
it's like,
your scalp health and everything,
I see these girls,
they like,
massage their head first,
to kind of get like,
circulating,
and then put oil,
and then I believe you like,
brush it in more,
and then kind of let it soak,
it's almost like a hair mask,
but with,
I envision it as like, dry brushing your scalp,
and then putting in oil, and I've never tried it so like i would love recommendations of like what people use for
it because i you know i i think i have pretty healthy hair but i'm very careful of what i put
in my hair yeah um i don't really have like oily hair necessarily but i think it yeah i'm pretty
like careful about what kind of products i put in my hair so i don't just want to i used to douse my hair in coconut oil in college did you ever do that yeah I did that room that
was a big thing you remember that yes my freshman year me and my roommate would microwave like
virgin coconut oil or whatever it's called and literally soak our entire heads in it and sleep
in it I swear it was because there was a Victoria's Secret model that did it and like it it made my hair extremely soft, but you also had to wash your hair like 16 times.
I don't know if it was good for you.
I feel like it actually wasn't good for your hair or something.
I feel like oil is good for your hair.
I just wonder which one.
But the stimulating is key because you get blood circulation and it helps with growth.
They do that at the Korean spa when I got that full body scrub which I'm not sure if I
talked about it on here maybe I should they wash your hair and they scrub your scalp get in there
yeah well you don't realize like I know it's kind of icky but like you can get a lot of scalp build
up with all the products so you want to go do that camera thing oh the microscopic I do I really do
am I kind of concerned what's going to be there for sure like
maybe five years worth of dry shampoo up in there maybe perhaps but i yeah no as long as there's
nothing alive you know i don't think there's anything alive i hope not who knows concerning
oh but guys the korean scrub i had heard so many things about am i saying it right the korean scrub
yeah i went to pellicure yeah uh i went to pellicure in beverly hills and basically you
get completely naked get on a metal table and a woman there's like a shower over you
showers you and then scrubs you head to toe with exfoliating mitts and like uh
like a scrub and gets all this dead skin off you and when i tell you the dead skin was flying off
my body and everyone says this they're just surrounded by rolls of dead skin are like orange
spray tan skin mine was orange because of my spray tan but i haven't seen my
like my skin so pure well because i get so many spray tans and so long flips you over doesn't
same thing on the back washes you head to toe gets in there you know like nooks and crannies vibes
and then washes your hair and you're like the cleanest you've ever been when you leave
i want to try it whenever i like need a little break from my tans i'm gonna go do that because and then washes your hair. And you're like the cleanest you've ever been when you leave.
I want to try it.
Whenever I like need a little break from my tans,
I'm going to go do that.
Because I think my skin can use it.
You know what I'm envisioning when you say this table?
This is a very niche image.
Build a bear workshop.
After you stuff your bear,
you go to this little grooming station and it's like these like air streams coming down
and you like brush.
That is what I'm envisioning you laying on. It's very similar. It's very similar. Wow. little grooming station and it's like these like air streams coming down and you like brush that
is what i'm envisioning you laying on it's very similar it's very similar wow okay no i know i
know the setup you're talking about it's a rite of passage wow i remember you were like it made
me feel like a baby because they just like are like like what i mean no you were saying like
when you got the spa thing done it's like like at 28 like for someone else to
be like no one has taken care of me that way since i was five years old yeah like a baby like it
makes you feel no i felt like a giant baby she wraps you up and she goes have a good day and i'm
like okay no it was it was funny but you said they don't really talk to you right no which i appreciate
because i'm not i don't love being touched like i'm not someone who's like
really comfortable being massaged and whatnot like i just something about it if i don't know
a stranger really relaxing and stuff yeah but i don't know i feel like you go get some sort of
like a wax or something you go and i feel like if you if you're if it's dead silent it's like
awkward because they're obviously like all up in true crevices but so i always talk because i'm
like this is so awkward but i feel like something like that you donvices but so i always talk because i'm like this is so awkward
but i feel like something like that you don't want at all i wouldn't want to be talking no maybe no
they're very respectful okay well i do have a whole update on my peptides but i feel like it's
a bit much for today so let's skip that okay and guys if you do want to hear about my peptide regime
let us know in the comments on the power page without further ado shall we listen to our voice messages let's do it I want to put like a
Christmas jingle on this Merry Christmas Merry Christmas ring the Hogwarts bells not me only
knowing Hogwarts yeah Christmas music the Great Hall, you were clearly a Slytherin.
Let's start with Mel.
Hi, Mari.
I am just wondering if you've ever taken creatine,
and if yes, when,
and have you noticed much of a difference?
I just started dabbling with it,
and I do feel like I
notice a difference at the gym, feeling a little stronger, better energy levels throughout the day
and a better mood. But I also don't know if it's mind over matter. So I want to know your experience.
Wow, Mel, I love that. Great question. A lot of people ask about creatine I have taken creatine I did at the beginning of
my journey Greg used to take it and it basically like hydrates your muscles and helps you look
more full I remember being really paranoid to be honest back then because I had just been on my
weight loss journey and I was like I had heard it makes you retain water and I was like oh my gosh
I'm so scared like I don't want it to make me gain weight again, which is like obviously an irrational fear that I had. But since I was keto back then,
carbs generally are what make your muscles look more full at the gym. So I was finding that I
looked really flat and I felt like my muscles weren't filling out. So when I started taking
creatine, I felt like it did really help and it really helped with recovery and I felt stronger.
So Mel, I don't think you're imagining anything.
I'm sure you feel great at the gym.
I think it's one of the most clinically backed supplements you can take.
You've asked me about it.
I know because I've never taken it.
It's like it's one of the wellness things I've always thought about taking.
I just like haven't done it.
Maybe I'll dabble in it eventually.
I don't know.
Kenny takes it every day and like loves it. But I know a lot of men just they they've always taken it so
it doesn't taste like anything like you could just throw it in with your greens or pre-workout
yeah maybe I'll try it one day thanks Mel

Let's talk to Cheyenne. Are you moving to Austin, Texas? Are you moving to Austin, Texas? I mean,
it's like, why should this be complicated to answer? If you guys even knew the situation
we're in, it's like absolutely ludicrous. But basically, our whole life is in a limbo right now.
But yes, like we are moving next year to Austin for a multitude of reasons. Number one, we're working
on a deal with Bloom where being based in Austin would make a lot more sense. That deal is currently
in the works. It's not fully finished yet. Hence our whole life being in limbo. But Greg and I
obviously want to have kids, as I've mentioned a few times in this episode. And I just feel like
it's a more family friendly place to raise
children. It's also such a fantastic travel hub because we'll be coming back here very frequently.
We'll be back here at least every other month. New York's closer. That's where my family is and
Greg's family is. So the answer is yes. It just, we don't know when. Yeah. I'm so excited. I'm so excited I'm ready are you going to oh yes I will be going as well
yep a little squad what are you excited about to have more space I love LA it'll like always
be a special place in my heart I feel like I grew up like my young 20s were here and I really like
grew into the person I am but I I just feel the last even couple years,
maybe a year and a half,
I've had like that itch, you know?
And I've had a couple friends
who like were here with me for years leave
and try something new.
And I'm like, oh, that seems kind of nice.
So yeah, I'm really excited to start a new chapter.
And yeah.
Woohoo.
Can't wait.
Yeehaw.
I'm going to knock on wood because...
Okay, let's talk to stephanie
my partner and i both 24 have been together for three years lately he's in a bit of a rut he's
lacking motivation for career improvement neglecting self-care and showing little interest
in a healthier lifestyle these things are all super important to me, which makes things really difficult at times. While I'm eager to plan our future together, he seems uncertain about his
aspirations, remaining stuck in a routine of a dead-end job and minimal personal development.
Despite our discussions and his promises to improve, he hasn't made tangible efforts to
change. I love him and I don't want to give up on him,
but I don't know what else to do at this point
and I would love to hear some advice.
Aw, Stephanie.
Sorry, girl.
We've all been there.
I think most of us have been there.
I mean, I'll go first.
I feel like my advice might be a little too harsh,
but I saw a quote the other day that was like,
I think actually it was Megan
Fox talking about it. She was like, so many people fall in love with the potential of someone and not
who they really are. And I feel like maybe you're doing that right now. And it's, it just says so
much about you, how awesome you are, that you want him to be this amazing person and you're like
really holding out for him. But at the end of the day, I mean, I can tell you firsthand, the only person who's going to like
improve him is him. He's the only one who could take, take his own life and improve it and fix
that. And maybe it will take you leaving for him to realize. I was going to say literally that same
quote popped into my head. Like, don't fall in love with, like, the potential. Like, you do have to be, you know, what am I trying to say?
Like, what's in front of you is what it is, basically.
A realist.
Yes, yes.
You have to be realistic about it.
And even though that might be hard and there's a lot of emotion involved,
you know, I hate to say, like, talk is cheap,
but, like, actions are what matters.
You know, I went through this personally for a little bit,
just in different relationships and what like their actions speak far more than just what they
tell you they're going to do. And I forget exactly what the quote is, but it's like when you see all
that potential in someone else or like you are there rooting them on, like that's like because
you're amazing and because you have all this potential and because like you're almost projecting your, you know, strengths and potential onto them. And if they can't do that,
like see that themselves, then that's kind of their own issue. And then you just have to decide
if you want to continue that. Period. Yeah. Let's talk to Dandy. Hi my question for you is if you or greg are changing anything
in your nutrition for fertility thank you so nice thank you dandy um yes i'd say we're way
more honed in right now on just being as healthy as possible. Both
of us did our lab work with Emily and both of us are on peptides for fertility and supplements for
fertility. Basically anything you do that's going to improve your overall health and hormones is
also going to make you more fertile. Both of us eat so much protein. We eat a lot of red meat. Both of us
have pretty good lab work right now. Yeah, just eating really whole foods and nutrient dense foods,
I think. I feel like you guys have also limited like drinking. Oh, that's so true. Like smoking
weed. Like I feel like that's so true. I didn't think about that. Yeah, we're both very much
avoiding alcohol, weed, those things have a
massive impact on fertility, but also just like the health of your child. So really taking that
into consideration and just like everyday practices that, you know, can help. Hi, my name is Carissa
and I live in the Austin area. I have actually been listening to your podcast for some time and I love it.
I love all of the health information, the knowledge. I feel like it's just been a great
thing that I add to my morning routine. One thing I am curious about is during the holidays,
I find that it's hard to maintain those personal boundaries when it comes to health, diet,
just really anything for your well-being
when you're surrounded by maybe other people who are not knowledgeable. It's not saying that
they're just deliberately trying to do things against you, but they might not know that, you
know, certain oils and foods are just inflammatory or fragrances everywhere can be really hard on
your endocrine system. So what is advice that you
give that when you're in a place that is not like your home where you feel like it's your sanctuary
and you keep things how you want, how do you still maintain healthy boundaries and have a good time?
Oh, that's such a good question. Yeah. Amazing. Amazing. Really good question. I mean, like,
I wish I had the answer for that. I know it's really hard. And I actually
posted this Mel Robbins quote last night that was about let them be and how it's really impossible
to control everyone in your life. And all you can do is control what you do. No one has the right
to judge you for what's on your plate, how much water you're drinking, getting outside and taking a walk. Like
just try to keep in mind the things that make you feel your best. Let everyone else around you do
whatever they need to do. You know, whether that's drinking or sniffing scented candles,
whatever it may be. I know, you know, being around those things every now and again isn't going to
completely destroy your health. I think the reason we focus on what we do in our homes is so we set ourselves up so
that we can process those toxins when we're out, you know, at the gym and there's Windex or we're
at someone's house and they're, you know, lighting a Yankee candle or whatever it may be. There's
only so much you can do. All you can do is control your health and happiness. So maybe you need to take a step into the bathroom or outside for a quick meditation or a quick
grounding exercise. Maybe you need to go on a walk after dinner. And you don't have to explain
yourself if this is just part of your life and what makes you happy. I mean, I know when I go home,
it's important for me to maintain a couple of those rituals I have because it reminds me of
who I am. And I don't want to just morph to what I'm around those rituals I have because it reminds me of who I am
and I don't want to just morph to what to what I'm around but I know that the boundaries can
be really difficult yeah I love that great answer I think kind of what Mari said just like stick
with your routine as much as you can let them be let them do what they want to do it's not
hurting you you know and they might not understand why you do what you do but
that's what makes you happy then it's fine and. And I also don't think, not that you should try to,
like, ever, you know, push your lifestyle at anyone or be condescending or anything like that,
but I know, like, when I've gone home and, you know, spoke with family, like, let's say they're
using, let's say we're all cooking in the kitchen and I see them using a vegetable oil or something.
You could very nicely be like, oh, like, have you ever tried using avocado oil for that? Like a lot of people really have no idea.
And I mean, there's one way to be like, that's disgusting. You shouldn't use that oil. You know,
it's made from tar. Like you could be like that. Or you could say, you know, there's a great
alternative. I know like Greg's mom has reached out to you before and been like, I cook with this.
What do you think I should use instead? And like giving constructive kind of like,
even just sharing the knowledge, you know, I think is really helpful. And I do think people
appreciate it. You know what I mean? It's but like, if you just talking down to them and saying
what they're doing is wrong, but not offering an alternative or explaining why then I think
that can cause issues. So true. The tone is everything. And the intent is everything like,
you know, I really want everyone in my life to be as healthy as possible
and if I can share information and we can kind of discuss it together and talk about it in a pleasant
way I think that's great but you know if anyone does kind of judge you or come at you for what
you're doing I think a polite way of putting it is just hey this is what makes me feel my best
like I'm so happy I can enjoy the holidays with you. This is just what I need to do for my health and happiness. Should we listen to one more? Yes. Hey Mari, love your podcast. Just wanted to
say that I love drinking Bloom Greens every morning. My favorite flavor is either strawberry
kiwi or mango. It's a very close tie. They have just made my gut health so much better overall.
They're my favorite morning staple and I'm so glad to have them as part of my routine and I love your podcast. Oh, so cute. That was lovely.
I was waiting for a question. I know. So sweet. The girlies love you. Strawberry kiwi really
does pop off. Yeah. Okay, let's find one more. Let's do Ashley. Hey, Mari.
I just wanted to say, first of all, your podcast is absolutely incredible.
I just started listening to it about a few months ago and I'm a huge fan.
I guess the question I would have for you is what are you doing to prepare yourself for Christmas in terms of healthy habits and what kind of habits will you be doing to stay healthy during the Christmas season? Great question. I mean, I feel like we've gone over a couple of things
already. For me personally, walking, like walking after every big meal, I still want to go enjoy the
food. Greg's family does like pasta and Italian food. For sure, going on a walk after that,
having a ton of water along with all the you know wine and food was really helpful
I'll probably bring my supplements definitely my greens definitely my magnesium getting enough
sleep in Greg and I also booked a spa treatment on the 24th before we hang out with this family
so I feel like we're focusing on self-care at the same time. I feel like being present is the best thing you could do
and really making sure you're in touch with yourself
before you walk into like a crazy family setting
and kind of lose yourself in the conversation
or whatever it may be.
So maybe like a little meditation or grounding exercise
just to make sure you're like, you know,
feeling in your own body and knowing your intentions.
Yeah, all the same things.
I feel like just keeping walks in, you know, I, I definitely try to give myself a little more grace around the holidays
and like, I will probably indulge a little more than I'm used to and stuff. But I think for me,
my biggest tips, just like the mental aspect of it all, like don't beat yourself up. Don't feel
guilty. Like you're enjoying, you're having a great time, you know, with family and friends and
having fun foods and stuff.
And just like, it's not going to ruin all your progress.
It's not going to be a huge setback.
Like, don't think about it that way.
Just have a good time.
Yeah.
You know, yummy food.
One meal is not going to ruin everything.
Yeah.
