Starting point is 00:00:00 This is the Pursuit of Wellness podcast, and I'm your host, Mari Llewellyn. What is up, guys? Welcome back to the Pursuit of Wellness podcast. We have another girl chat with Fi. I'm back. She's back. It feels like a while since we've done a Mari and Fi. I think it's been since New York, since the Hamptons. Wow. Right? Too, too long. A month ago. Yeah. A month ago. But you guys love these episodes with Fi, and I feel like it like helps me open up more and just have a really casual conversation because
Starting point is 00:00:35 it's Fi and I tell her everything. So we both have some updates for you guys. I want to apologize in advance for my voice. And if I'm like coughing and sneezing, I am a little unwell, but I'm pushing through for the pod as per usual. I would never leave you guys hanging, but I have my bloom energy to get me through this combo. I'm drinking cherry lime. I'm just a cherry lime gal. I'm a raspberry lemon gal.
Starting point is 00:00:59 I love cherry lime too, but. And guys, it's been so fun to see everyone posting their favorite drinks and like people are ransacking the shelves they really are it's wild um so thank you for the support on that the reason i feel unwell and i'm actually not 100 sure but i'm having a combined moment because i am on letrozole. And if you follow me on Instagram, you may have seen. But I'm taking letrozole, which is a fertility medication.
Starting point is 00:01:32 Dr. Gabrielle explained this to me on my call with her today. It blocks androgens and estrogen and increases FSH. So you produce more follicles. What's FSH? Female... Female sex hormone. Oh, okay. I think. Yeah. And basically it like makes you ovulate. Basically I have to take the lacto-resolve for five days in preparation for IUI. And I've talked about, you know, me trying to do IUI. I don't really
Starting point is 00:01:56 want to disclose like when I'm doing it because I don't want people to be asking me if it worked or not. Cause I'm, I'm just really conscious of the fact that it may not work and I don't want to get my hopes up and I don't want to like hear about it a thousand times. But I know letrozole can make you feel really shitty. And I think I'm like having the exhaustion and like headache from it. But I also may have a cold at the same time. Yeah, you kind of sound like you have a little something too. We were at a concert last week and we like stayed out late. I know. We had some drinks. I know. You also have been traveling a lot recently. So I feel like I've kind of been off the rails. I picked a little something up. By my standards, I've been like really off the rails because we did the
Starting point is 00:02:39 concert. I drank. I've been eating different. I've been going out more. And then getting sick, I feel like I cannot stay on routine. Like I'm not working out. I'm not eating. Like you don't want to eat meat when you're sick. Like I just want like oatmeal and rice. And I feel bad about that, but I just have to embrace it because in the end, it will all be worth it, you know, hopefully. Is there any wood around here? Whenever I say that, I feel like I have to knock on wood. My God, I don't see any wood. This is wood, isn't it?
Starting point is 00:03:17 Sorry. I do it every time I talk about having a baby. So yeah, I've been like mentally struggling a tad because I hate being sick. Yeah, you're very bad at being sick. Horrible because I can't sit still. I hate feeling like I'm not being productive. I'm just so type A that sitting still
Starting point is 00:03:39 and feeling unproductive and not working out and not working, it's like my worst nightmare um so i've really been like trying to be nicer to myself and focus on um self-love and doing things like sitting in front of my red light and like just really trying to take care of myself and going outside and reading oh i'm gonna get to reading in a minute. Akatar Girls Unite. Can't wait to talk about it. But for mental health, I've been using,
Starting point is 00:04:10 and I've talked about this so many times, I've been using the Superhuman app by Mimi Bouchard. And I've been using this for a long time now. You guys know I had her on the show. And when she was coming on, I was so curious about it, I downloaded it.
Starting point is 00:04:24 And it changed my life from I was so curious about it. I downloaded it and it like changed my life from the minute I started doing it. And I know you've been using it now too. Yeah, Mari got me hooked on this app, you guys. I'm obsessed. I've been doing them every morning, every evening. I did one this morning on my way to work,
Starting point is 00:04:37 like a positive gratitude start your morning one and it really just puts you in such a great headspace. Yeah, what I love about Superhuman app is the fact that it's an activation app. It's not a meditation app. So this is like, it could be whatever you need it to be. They have so many different options. For example, I've been listening to the positive pregnancy affirmation activation because I'm manifesting getting pregnant. I'm manifesting a positive pregnancy. And I just love the fact that there's, you know, there's ones for career and money and gratitude and family and being present. Relationships. Relationships. And it
Starting point is 00:05:19 could really fit whatever your goals are, whatever you're struggling with. And you can do them actively, hence the word activation. So while Fee's driving or while I'm getting ready for the day or while I'm cooking, I feel like if you're someone, and I'm definitely this person who leans on the anxious side or the depressed side, like you wake up and the first thing you do is start worrying or you think about the bad things that could happen that day, the best thing you can do is control the media you're listening to. Instead of getting on Instagram and scrolling, put this on and it will change the way you enter your day
Starting point is 00:05:57 and therefore enter the way you live your life. Yeah. Yeah. The activation I was doing this morning was like exactly that. And Mimi was saying in my ear as I was driving, you know, like the way, the way you're thinking is the way you're going to show up. And like her just saying these, these mantras to us, it, it really gets you in that headspace for the day. It's really, it's really awesome. I love them. And if you're someone who has struggled with
Starting point is 00:06:25 meditating and sitting still with your eyes closed, I have a hard time with that. I know so many people do. This is different. It's a really easy thing to integrate into your life every day. It's cinematic and motivational. If you're on a fitness journey, you need this app. I think it would have really helped me while I was on my fitness journey. Oh my gosh, 100%. And now that I've become close with Mimi and the Superhuman app team, I actually have a link for you guys
Starting point is 00:06:52 if you want to download it for 60% off, six zero percent off, which is crazy to get a membership. So I will put that link in the show notes. Highly recommend you snag that deal while you can and yeah that's been so beneficial for me during this whole fertility sickness I'm sure I'll use it during pregnancy too
Starting point is 00:07:14 if I'm unwell yeah it's like always there for you every time I've been opening up the app each day the first one that pops up is like what I needed that day which sounds so weird no it's like really interesting like that something will pop up and I'm like wow how did it know that's what I needed to hear but no it's it's an awesome app I'm hooked Mari got me hooked what else has been
Starting point is 00:07:35 going on with you oh it's been an interesting couple weeks I'm going to go too much into detail of my personal life, but there's just lots of transformation happening currently, just in all different aspects of my life. And it's not always easy. Sometimes you want to go and hide from it, but I'm trying to really just embrace it and walk through it. And yeah, this app has really helped me do that over the last few weeks. They have no idea what you're talking about. Yeah, no, you guys will never know what I'm talking about. But yeah, just personal stuff, I'll say. Not everything's what you think it is.
Starting point is 00:08:21 I think everyone looks at people. I look at other people online and compare myself to other people and think everything is? I think everyone looks at people. I look at other people online and compare myself to other people and think everything is great and awesome. And it might not be. So that's just your reminder to like, focus on yourself and your own life. And you know, everyone is going through, Mari going through her stuff, as she was just saying, everyone's going through something. So I just think it's a good reminder to be nice to people and you never know what someone's going through. Yeah, and I don't want to delve into details
Starting point is 00:08:51 of what you're going through. But what I will say is, and if at any point I say something you don't like, just we'll cut it out. But I feel like what I admire about what Fi's going through right now is I know it's hard for you because you're someone who is such a busybody
Starting point is 00:09:11 and such a positive person that she's the type of person to be like, I'm fine, I'm fine, I'm fine. And like, on to the next, on to the next, on to the next. And as her best friend and someone that is with her every day, I can kind of see when you're like maybe avoiding something. And it's hard for me to not say anything. But at the end of the day,
Starting point is 00:09:38 I think people need to figure it out on their own. And I feel like you are attacking it in a really healthy, positive way and using all of your tools and just like showing a lot of self love to yourself, which I think is easier said than done. Yeah. It's tough when you're going through something like Mari and I actually were having a personal conversation the other day just about like us having moved here and making friendships and stuff. And like, I've kind of realized I've isolated myself a little bit. And I don't think I did it on purpose, but I just think, you know, whether you're going through a fitness journey or a relationship
Starting point is 00:10:19 journey or whatever it may be, I think like the more comfortable, like easier way is to just like ignore and isolate. And it's like to actually get through it, you're going to have to do the hard part, which is the exact opposite of that, you know? And I think sometimes, you know, moving here and like still trying to kind of find my circle of friends here and, you know, like hobbies I like doing here. Like, I think I've finally recognized that I haven't taken the time to do that or really put in the effort to do that. And it's kind of like bit me on the butt in the end because then I, you know, have a weekend where I'm just sitting there and I'm kind of like, oh, like I don't, I didn't really make any plans to do anything. And I didn't.
Starting point is 00:11:05 But the only person to blame at the end of the day is me. I'm not actively trying to make those plans. And it's the same way with like, if you want to set out for your fitness journey or whatever, you have to take the first step. It's going to be really uncomfortable. But if you just sit on the couch all day and you don't make the first step to sign up for a workout class or get in the gym or go on a walk, you're never going to get there.
Starting point is 00:11:30 So it's going to be a little uncomfortable and you're going to have to put in a lot of extra effort. But it won't always be like that. At least that's what I'm telling myself. So I'm really trying to put myself out there and actively make plans and pull myself out of a little rut I've been in lately. You guys have heard me talk about Cozy Earth before. It is absolutely my favorite bedding company. And it was one of Oprah's favorite things in 2018. Cozy Earth's best
Starting point is 00:12:05 selling bamboo sheet set is temperature regulating and incredibly soft. We have spoken about so many times on how important sleep is on this podcast. Starting point is 00:12:49 Cozy Earth provided an exclusive offer for my listeners today, up to 40% off site-wide when you use the code PURSUIT, P-U-R-S-U-I-T. One of my main goals every day is to get in a bunch of water. I'm always carrying around my giant refillable cup. But what's so important is using high quality water. If you're like me, you know that we can't trust our tap water. I've done a few episodes on this before, and it's so important to focus on quality water. Having safe, clean water is the last thing you want to worry about. But unfortunately, according to extensive research by the Environmental Working Group, three out of four homes in America have harmful contaminants in its tap water.
Starting point is 00:13:29 And that's why you guys need to check out AquaTrue. AquaTrue purifies using a four-stage reverse osmosis purification process. And their countertop purifiers work with no installation or plumbing. Greg and I have the one under the sink so we can just use it from the tap. But I also love the countertop purifier.
Starting point is 00:13:47 We have one at the Bloom office. It removes 15 times more contaminants than the ordinary pitcher filters and are specifically designed to combat chemicals like PFAs in your water supply. PFAs are found in almost 45% of US tap water. I'm so grateful that Aqua 2 is certified to remove these contaminants.
Starting point is 00:14:04 I also think about the fact that our pets are drinking this water too. And if you're like me, your pets are your family. So I want to make sure they're getting the best water possible. AquaTrue comes with a 30-day money-back guarantee and even makes a great gift. Today, my listeners receive 20% off any AquaTrue purifier. Just go to AquaTrue.com. That's A-Q-U-A-T-R-U.com and enter code POW, P-O-W, at checkout. That's 20% off any AquaTru water purifier when you go to aquatru.com and use code POW. I did also want to add to this.
Starting point is 00:14:42 And like, I will first say, this, you know, ozempic semaglutide journey I've been on and I'm still on has had a lot of positives. I'm down 15 pounds. I will share that. I am. My clothes are fitting a lot better. I honestly am feeling a lot more like myself than I have in a long time. And I almost think this is all kind of linked. I think for the last couple months, I wasn't, or even like probably up to a year, I just, I wasn't quite feeling like myself. And you know, you don't feel good about yourself and not that just your weight and the way you look should make be all, end all, be all how you feel about yourself. But like, you know, when you think about going out on a Friday night with friends and you're like,
Starting point is 00:15:26 okay, I got to go put on like a cute outfit and you go in your closet and you don't like the way anything looks on you and you don't like the way anything's fitting you, it deters you and it makes you just be like, I don't really want to go do that. And then I'm like, oh, do I even want to go out
Starting point is 00:15:38 and get dinner and drinks? Like, I probably shouldn't be doing that. You know, you start like really getting in your head about it. So I will say like, I am very proud of how far I've come with this. You know, I'm still on the medication. I still will be for some time. I'm still working on creating habits and routines
Starting point is 00:15:55 that I'm hoping I will keep after I end the medication because I do not plan on being on this forever. But I have seen a lot of positives. That being said, you know, it's interesting, kind of, I've noticed a little bit, and again, I don't want to say this is a cause and effect, but I've noticed a little bit of maybe a correlation of when I started this medication
Starting point is 00:16:17 and when I kind of started feeling extra emotional. I've just noticed over the last three, four months, it's kind of like, I think it was longer than that. Just in general, I think I've just been kind of going through it, but I think it has magnified it in a way. And, you know, we've had a couple guests on. I know Callie Means brought this up, that like there are some studies saying
Starting point is 00:16:42 it's really affecting people's mental health. Some people are claiming like suicidal ideation, like trigger warning. There's all different kinds of stuff. But then there's plenty of people on it who say it's absolutely changed their life and they couldn't leave their house before and now they have their life back. So I think like any medication, even Mari with her letrozole I think every medication affects everyone really differently um but I do find that interesting um and I'm you know I'm aware of it which I think is good I think the last three months I kind of like Mari said like I think I just naturally try to brush things under the rug and I don't want anyone to worry about me and I just want to be okay and that's just like who I am. It's my character. It's who I've like made myself to be. But like, I have to sometimes remind myself that it's okay not to be
Starting point is 00:17:30 okay all the time. And you know, the people around me, Mari, my parents, and you know, my boyfriend, like people do care about me and like want me to share this stuff with them. But I know you've mentioned like, you don't want to like pry. You don't want to like, you know mentioned like you don't want to like pry you don't want to like you don't know what's going through my head all the time obviously you know a lot but so I just thought that was interesting so I'm obviously paying attention to that
Starting point is 00:17:55 and I'm not going to ignore that I think it's good to mention to people listening because again like with Ozempic on the internet, it just seemed like this magic drug that people are dropping 30 pounds and living their best life. But I wouldn't be surprised if it's having an effect on mental health. And I feel like you, I noticed a difference when you started taking it. Like, I feel like number one, you were super tired.
Starting point is 00:18:27 And definitely, yeah, you seemed like a little more sad. You know what I think is interesting? I was actually, maybe I did talk about this with you. So it's been linked to help people with food noise, right? So people that, and I really struggle with this. You know, in the past, I'd kind of had binge eating disorder. Like I really got a dopamine rush and like a thrill out of eating. I really did. Like food, there were times and I, you know, I'd gone to therapy about this sense and like, it's really changed even up until now. But like years ago, there was a point where like, I would have a
Starting point is 00:19:02 stressful day at work and all day, all day, I would just be like, I cannot wait to go and just like eat tonight. And I know that sounds, it's like, it's so embarrassing to admit. No. It is. Like, it's like, it's one of those, like who wants to be like all day,
Starting point is 00:19:16 I've just thought about ordering a pizza. But I'm so sure people relate. But that's why I want to share about it because I'm sure there are so many men and women that relate to it and then no one talks about it and you feel like you're just like alone in it and you're not. So, but on that fact, you know,
Starting point is 00:19:34 it is, they've shown that it like is helping something. I don't want to get all scientific, but there's something that the medication is like kind of turning off in your brain and it's quieting that food noise. And to me, I'm like, it's almost like stopping that dopamine rush that I got from food. Yeah. Which then it's like, that's why I'm like, oh, I don't need to keep eating. It's not feeding something in my head. But part of me is like, is it shutting off like all my dopamine? Potentially.
Starting point is 00:20:00 Like, is it making me not really get, if food is what i used to find like a thrill out of and now i don't have that yeah and now i just feel like i kind of don't get out of anything yeah i think there's something to that i don't really know what that means and you know i think i need to find excitement and thrill through other things like hobbies and fun things i enjoy and going out with my friends and stuff and i think And I think the medicines kind of shut that off for me, which is great in one respect. Like I don't constantly obsess about food now, but I think there's something to it.
Starting point is 00:20:35 So I'm curious if anyone else has experienced that. Yeah, let us know, guys. I mean, very interesting, worth acknowledging, good to be self-aware about and good to talk about, I think. And neither of very interesting, worth acknowledging, good to be self aware about, and good to talk about, I think. And neither of us are doctors, obviously, and qualified to speak on it, but yeah,
Starting point is 00:20:51 definitely could be something going on there, and I think if you're struggling with that, guys, go to your doctor, talk to a therapist. I know I went off on a bit of a tangent, so I will get back to it. I'm sorry, I just wanted to be honest and update you guys. Yeah, and you haven't a bit of a tangent, so I will get back to Mari. I just wanted to be honest and update you guys. Yeah, and you haven't been on in a while.
Starting point is 00:21:08 So, I... Sorry, I'm checking the title of the book, Emery. Oh my gosh, these books, you guys. I've never seen Mari so... Maybe her horse. Maybe that was the first time I saw her so obsessed with something. But these books. Okay.
Starting point is 00:21:23 So, guys. If you don't know what ACOTAR is, it is A Court of Thorns and Roses, and it is a series by Sarah, what's her name? Hold on. Please hold. Please hold. Sarah J. Maas. Okay, the author is Sarah J. Maas, I think you say, pronounce it. And this began
Starting point is 00:21:48 literally a couple weeks ago when my old agent from UTA Kirby was like, have you read these books? And she was like, they're kind of fantasy vibes. They're like a little spicy. And she said fantasy and I like love Harry Potter. I was a huge Twilight girl. And my whole childhood, I was like constantly reading like book after book after book after book. And I kind of went through a lull in my life where I wasn't reading. And she recommended these books. I was like, okay, so I ordered the whole series
Starting point is 00:22:17 and started with A Court of Roses and Thorns, Thorns and Roses. Oh my God. Within 10 pages, I was like, I cannot put this down. And the book is thick, thick, thick. Huge book. I finished it in three days. So onto the next, finished the second one in a couple of days. Third one, couple of days. I'm on the last one and I'm sick right now. So it's almost like perfect timing, but I'm flying through it. And this one's a Court of Silver Wings. And guys guys like i feel lit up by this and i'm noticing
Starting point is 00:22:46 and i don't know if it's because of my algorithm but everyone's reading and everyone's reading these books jake shane actually said that today yes i saw a tiktok or something being like so when did everyone decide to start reading again yeah no one told me well that's how i feel jake did you see the comments everyone's like like, Akatar Summer. Well, Akatar's like been around for a little bit. Yeah. But it is like, it's a cult.
Starting point is 00:23:09 I have not read it yet, you guys. And Mari actually bought me the series because she was like, okay, if you're like, Did you get them? No,
Starting point is 00:23:14 I haven't gotten them yet. You need to look at your Amazon. Yeah, we'll check Amazon. But either way, you know, when I'm telling Mari how I'm going through this,
Starting point is 00:23:19 she's like, you need to read these books. I'm like, okay. Oh, and I should have said, part of the reason I started reading is I had a call with. Oh, and I should have said, part of the reason I started reading
Starting point is 00:23:25 is I had a call with one of my doctors, I have too many. And one of them was like, your mind is so, like, I definitely have like some form of OCD. Like I'm so obsessive about things. And sometimes I get hyper fixated on the wrong thing, like acne or health or food or whatever.
Starting point is 00:23:43 She was like, you need to read just to keep that mind tame. And so valid because now all I do is like read these books. They're like a healthy way to disassociate. Yes. You fully enter a different world and you're with the characters and it like romanticizes life. And I genuinely think it makes my vocabulary better yeah like I think it's a me reading my whole childhood I think is a huge reason that I have good vocabulary and I'm well spoken writer yeah and I love writing um so I'm really happy I'm back into that and I posted about doing a pow book club and the girls freaked like hundreds and hundreds of yeses so like I really
Starting point is 00:24:24 want to do a book club, but I don't know how to go about it. Like, how do I do a podcast book club? We could talk it out. I have some ideas. Maybe like, would it be you and me reading it
Starting point is 00:24:34 and discussing it? Because I need someone to discuss with. I can't just like... Like maybe once a month, a Thursday episode would be like a recap and everyone read that month. Yes. Maybe at the end of the month,
Starting point is 00:24:43 we have a recap and then like we talk about it on socials too. So what I'm thinking because I'm already on the last book of the Akatar series. She has another series
Starting point is 00:24:53 called The Throne of Glass or The Glass Throne. And apparently it's even better. Oh my God. So what if you hold off on this series and join me. Could I start that other series though
Starting point is 00:25:03 and I won't be confused? They're not connected? They're not connected? They're not connected. Oh, okay. So we could start that together and record about it at the end of August. That'd be a good idea. You'll be away in Jackson.
Starting point is 00:25:15 Yeah. You'll be reading a lot. So guys, let me know if you want to join us in reading The Glass Throne or The Throne Glass by Sarah J. Maas. I'm saying her name wrong. And should we do a book club? And if you have ideas of how I should structure it,
Starting point is 00:25:29 DM me because I'm like really wanting to do it. Some other podcasters have book clubs that like are popping off. Let's look into it and figure it out. Um, yes. So in my reading area, I'm obsessed. Question. What is Brat Summer? I have a bullet point that says, what is Brat Summer? It's Charli XCX, the singer. Her album is called Brat and it's the,
Starting point is 00:25:51 like all of the songs, the 360, the Apple. Apple, run to the door. I'm willing to dry, dry.
Starting point is 00:25:58 Yeah, it's Brat Summer. People just like, she came out with this album and people just declared it Brat Summer and like, it's just Brat Summer.
Starting point is 00:26:04 Oh, I thought it was like about Brat Skulls. We're all being like sassy's just Bratz Summer. Oh, I thought it was about Bratz dolls. We're all being sassy Bratz girls all summer. Oh, I thought it was about Bratz dolls. I'm sure she was inspired by that to some degree. But yeah, Bratz Summer. Oh, I thought we were all dressing like Bratz dolls. Oh my God.
Starting point is 00:26:18 I'm so embarrassed. You would think that. I know. I was like, oh, okay, I get it. Like big heads. Little bodies. Like big heads. Little bodies. Like big shoes. Big shoes.
Starting point is 00:26:27 Big hoops. As a music gal. And I actually, I'll be so honest, I know some of the songs, I haven't done a deep dive into her album, but I saw Joe Jonas posting about it, so I was like, oh, I gotta get into that. Rat Summer.
Starting point is 00:26:37 Rat Summer. Okay, well, I don't think I'm participating because I didn't even know what it was. Sorry. I'm having an Akatar summer there you go also the smut is getting so crazy
Starting point is 00:26:49 I almost okay I wanted to send you this TikTok I saw I'll show you after the show the other night but it was like
Starting point is 00:26:53 too late and I was like ugh she's already asleep it was like 10 o'clock and it was like a guy going to
Starting point is 00:26:58 his wife like what are you reading and her being like well it's a book about fairies in a little tree house and then she grabs a pillow and starts like choking it and like and she's like and then and then it's a book about fairies in a little tree house. And then she grabs a pillow and starts like choking it.
Starting point is 00:27:07 And like, and she's like, and then, and it's like bleeping, bleeping. She's like, and then she throws him against it. And I was like, oh my God. And the husband's just like horrified. And the wife's like, and then she pushes me against the wall. And I was like, is this what Mari's reading? Can I show you this screenshot?
Starting point is 00:27:23 You're going to die. Oh. No, it's getting so crazy. Like, that's mild. That's mild. Like, guys, I'm showing her this. Every time you feel exceptional, I clenched my teeth,
Starting point is 00:27:38 panting through my nose. He was thrusting in small movements, letting me adjust to every thick inch of him. I mean, this is... Not the thick me adjust to every thick inch of him i mean this is not the thick inch not the thick inch like i feel so weird even reading this out loud kathy if you're listening me reading next to my sleeping husband like no guys marie's been reading everywhere we're like in the car coming back we were somewhere we were in a car driving somewhere and she literally whips this book out i'm like hello he's. He's like talking to me. Yeah, we're on the plane. Mari's
Starting point is 00:28:05 reading. I'm like, hello. She's like, I'm reading. I'm like, I moved my hips desperate for any friction. Friction? He licked his way up my throat. Whoa! Okay. I'm just, it's getting so out of hand. This is going to need to be an explicit episode. I know. Please stop listening if you're
Starting point is 00:28:21 someone that I'm... Is that the newest one? The one you're on right now? The last one? Yeah, but like... But they're all... I don't want to ruin it, but I'm on the last one now and something's like the smuttiest scene have ever just happened.
Starting point is 00:28:32 Like, okay. I know. I feel like every comment you see, like Mari posts the book and the girls are like, just wait. This one's spicy. Wait till the next one.
Starting point is 00:28:39 And they put chili peppers. And I see people being like, these books aren't even spicy. You should read this series. I'm like, good Lord. No, no, no. This is like the thing though. Like I've actually learned
Starting point is 00:28:48 a lot of like married women and like older women, they love this smut stuff. Me. And those like audio books that are like so naughty and you're like, what are you?
Starting point is 00:28:58 How are you on the subway listening to that? I think I have a theory on it. Yeah. I think women really like, like I don't think men would ever be down for this because they're just brutes. They would think we're like,
Starting point is 00:29:10 the funniest thing is like men are like grosser, but they like think we're gross for listening to this. But I'm like, men, here's my theory. Here's my theory. Men want to see it. Like, that's why porn addiction exists and whatever. Women, we want to imagine it and like picture it the way we want it. That's why porn addiction exists and whatever. Women, we want to
Starting point is 00:29:25 imagine it and picture it the way we want it. And the descriptive words and everything, it's like that speaks to us. Didn't someone ask you a question if you imagined Greg? Oh my God, yeah. So disgusting.
Starting point is 00:29:41 Don't ask me that. Ew. But do you? I don't know. That's the thing. It's like, I'm not overthinking it, but you... Okay, I have a theory. I have a theory. I know when I read a book, you think of characters, right? You see them.
Starting point is 00:29:55 It's the same. I did it with Twilight. And then when the movie comes out, you're like, whoa, that is not what... Because us girls, we imagine that we're the main character. Yeah. We want to think we are the Bella. Yeah, you're Bella and you have Jacob and Edward and they both want you.
Starting point is 00:30:10 We want to think we're the Frere. Yeah. Frere is the main character of Aquitaine. I like that name. I relate to her in so many ways. What? No, like I'm reading this and like, this is about me.
Starting point is 00:30:23 This is literally about me. Fall is on the way and shifting my wardrobe from summer to fall is always a challenge. Luckily, Quince offers timeless and high quality items I adore, ensuring my wardrobe stays fresh and I don't blow my budget. But I think that's why women love it
Starting point is 00:31:50 because it's like a little fantasy escape. Yeah. I could see that. And it adds a little, I think women like need a lot more romance and like
Starting point is 00:31:58 spiciness in their life than a lot of us like to admit. And the way that they describe the fairies in the book, it's like she was devastatingly beautiful and I'm like, admit. And the way that they describe the fairies in the book, it's like, she was devastatingly beautiful.
Starting point is 00:32:06 And I'm like, what? Me. Why don't they have a movie? I'm totally kidding you guys. They should make a show about this. It's giving like Game of Thrones. Like Game of Thrones. Do you ever watch Game of Thrones?
Starting point is 00:32:16 I'm sure there's a movie deal happening right now. There has to be. There has to be. Okay, so. If I'm not the main character? Okay, I was gonna say. As an actress? I have not read these, If I'm not the main character? Okay, I was going to say. As an actress? I have not read these,
Starting point is 00:32:26 but who do you think would play, besides yourself, who do you think actresses-wise that you know? Oh. Could Sabrina Carpenter be a pixie, or is that not the vibe? She could be, but she would not be the main character.
Starting point is 00:32:39 The main character, she has blue-gray eyes, so random that I also do. And blonde locks. She does. Oh. Golden. It says golden.
Starting point is 00:32:52 In her next hair appointment, Haley, I want golden locks. I'm actually thinking golden this time, and like pointed ears. Oh my God. I'm trying to think of an actress I feel like could work. I mean, similar to Twilight, they would have to like do some cosmetic makeup.
Starting point is 00:33:10 Yeah. I think more about the men and who would play the men. Okay. They're like, oh my God. It would play men. I'm blushing. The way they describe these men, it's like his muscle rippled and his chiseled
Starting point is 00:33:22 and they have wings and tattoos. Well, it turned on wings. And his chiseled. And they have wings. And tattoos. Well, it turned on. Wings. Wait, listen to this. In Akatar, when you make a deal with someone, like, here, I'll make a deal with you. If you do 10 push-ups,
Starting point is 00:33:38 like, I will give you a cupcake. That's such a bad example. That was going to be something really... Well, it usually is a lot more intense. Dirty. But all of a sudden, a tattoo would appear on your arm to lock in the deal.
Starting point is 00:33:47 And it would only disappear once you complete the deal. Interesting. So like tattoos are... I have an idea of Moana. Doing Moana. Right, right, right. Right.
Starting point is 00:33:56 Anyway, I don't know. Guys, if you have ideas on who should play the characters... Yeah, we want to know. I want to know. I know. Well, you need to read them.
Starting point is 00:34:02 I know. There's a lot of people I could see. What about like Florence Pug? Who's that? She's the actress from that movie with, she's in a lot of stuff. She's the actress that was in that movie
Starting point is 00:34:11 with Harry Styles. Oh. She kind of like looks pixie. She almost reminds me a little Sabrina Carpenter. Yeah. And she kind of has a little pixie cut right now and I could totally see her with like her little nose ring. Cute.
Starting point is 00:34:20 Her little pointed ears. No nose rings though. Well, that's like her naturally. But like she kind of gives me pixie vibes. Yeah. You know. I'm so bad at knowing people's names for pointed ears. No nose rings though. Well, that's like her naturally. But like she kind of gives me pixie vibes. Yeah. I'm so bad at knowing people's names for actresses.
Starting point is 00:34:29 I don't know. Okay, well, we want to hear from you guys. Also, they are currently filming 1923 here in Austin. Oh, yeah.
Starting point is 00:34:37 Should me and Fi go out for the roles of you guys? Should we like go out? They're doing casting calls here in Austin. So long story,
Starting point is 00:34:47 I'll make it very short, but Kenny will love this. Shout out. So Kenny has been talking about wanting to getting into acting. And I'm like, babe, we literally just left LA.
Starting point is 00:34:54 What are you talking about? Long story short, we're at our producer Drake's concert. Shout out Drake. Drake is Hannah Montana. Oh my God. And I just put this out there.
Starting point is 00:35:04 Drake, you are Hannah Montana and you have been hiding Hannah from us. You have just been Miley to us all along. Wait, let me give the girls context. Our producer for the show, Drake, is incredible. He like makes my show what it is and edits it and does all this work behind the scenes. But he's also like a pop star.
Starting point is 00:35:21 He plays the trumpet in a band. A huge band. A huge reggae band called Iration. I'm sure a lot of you guys know them. And they're on tour right now. They're on tour. He's literally on a tour bus being a pop star. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:35:33 Kenny and I went to his concert the other week. And I was like side stage watching him. And he kept like waving to me and like cheersing his little high noon at me. And I was like, oh my God. I was like, it was a really cool experience. So we love you, Drake. But I met this woman backstage who told me that 1923 is filming here in Austin.
Starting point is 00:35:51 That's what it's called, right? Yeah, I believe it's 1923. The old version of Yellowstone. Yeah, I might be getting the year wrong, but it's like Harrison Ford. I'm obsessed. Kenny and I watched it, and then it abruptly ended at the most cliffhanger-y part of the whole entire show ever.
Starting point is 00:36:06 Like, ever. And I'm like, what do you mean? And then Kenny looked into it and they stopped filming, or they never continued a new season because of COVID. Like, it's been that long and I'm like, we're never getting it. Ever. Like, I was so upset. And then this woman goes, you know they're filming season two here in Austin. I was like,
Starting point is 00:36:22 what? I was like, it's fate. And so I did a little digging and I found that they were casting for background extras. And I sent it to Kenny and you guys, Kenny went in and Kenny got casted. So he's going to be in the show
Starting point is 00:36:34 as a soldier in the background at the courthouse in the last episode. So if you watch 1923, I have no idea when this episode's coming out. He's filming next week here in Austin. I think it's so cool. I'm so proud of him. But I told Mari about it and she's like, are we going to be maidens?
Starting point is 00:36:50 Are we going to be bar maidens in the background? And I was like... Not me instantly trying to make it. No, Mari was like, so where do I sign up? I was like, yeah. She's like, no. Send me the link. I'm like, Mari. Mari has a show, has a brand, has all this stuff and she wants to be a milkmaid me the link. I'm like, Mari. Mari has a show, has a brand, has all the stuff
Starting point is 00:37:05 and she wants to be a milkmaid on the show. But would it not be such a cool experience? No, it'd be sick. I want lines. Oh, lines. I want lines. Yeah, I don't know about... I mean, maybe one day.
Starting point is 00:37:17 Casper, no. Mari's like the cowgirl in the background. Listen, if there's a horse role, just... That'd be sick. I'm sure there's like a, maybe not a lot of women out there who can act and ride horses. And listen, you're looking at it.
Starting point is 00:37:31 You should look into that. Not that I've ever acted or have any experience. I think you could. I was in drama club in middle school. So. Nerd. Anyway, moving on from that little tangent. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 00:37:44 Final update from me. I am heading to Jackson Hole for most of August. I'm leaving Sunday. And it's supposed to be this kind of like outdoorsy retreat for me and Greg and Arnold. And we're renting this cabin near the Teton Mountains. And we're going to go to Yellowstone and take the van and go off-roading.
Starting point is 00:38:05 And I love, love, love Jackson Hole. And I've been wanting to go back for so long. We do have a board meeting out there, so I will be doing some work. But I'm really excited for like my outdoorsy moment. I want to ride horses. Have you been journaling lately? No.
Starting point is 00:38:22 I feel like you should buy like a cute little like leather journal and a cute little leather journal and bring it and journal while you're there. Okay. Because I think... Granted, you're going to be doing some work out there, but I think this is going to be the first time since you and Greg ever literally were together
Starting point is 00:38:38 slash started Bloom slash anything that you guys are going to have a little bit of a detachment in a way. And I think it'd be interesting for you to write down your thoughts. Well, yeah. And report back on the show. Yeah. My original idea was to delete social media for the whole month. And I don't want to back out of that, but I do have some like things happening during August that I need to post about, but maybe you'll help me with it. Yeah. But, or do what you do, like delete it on the weekends or do like Friday to Monday. You know what I mean? Like delete it for a long weekend. Go hike, go like fully detach.
Starting point is 00:39:07 Yeah. And then, and yeah, like I can be posting stuff. I think it's going to be like uncomfortable for me the first few days because like even me being sick. I'm saying the journaling thing. I think it'd be good for you to like write your thoughts down. Yeah, like I'm uncomfortable because I like being with people and I like hanging out with people and socializing
Starting point is 00:39:29 and having plans and being busy. And like this is the opposite of that. So good thing I have my books. But I could see myself being a tad bit uncomfortable. But I definitely want to go hike. I want to take Arnold to the lake. I got him a little bear bell to scare away the bears so no one eats him because he's a bear snake.
Starting point is 00:39:47 Mari told me that. I'm like, Mari, those bears will be scared of Arnold either way. He's a kook. The man is an absolute. The man is beyond. What word did you use to describe him yesterday? Rambunctious. Rambunctious.
Starting point is 00:40:01 Rascal. Benny went to camp and he got a report card and it said he was curious. Mari said Arnold's would say rambunctious Arnold's would say boisterous Arnold's would say absolutely chaotic in the best way only that is that a bear
Starting point is 00:40:14 hey Mr. Bear come over here Arnold is like a bear snack size too I think those bears would be scared of him in the way that Arnold, yeah. I really do. But anyway, I'm so excited to go. And then I'm going to come back.
Starting point is 00:40:33 We have a couple of events happening here. Very exciting summer. I mean, I'm supposed to go to Europe in the first two weeks of September. This is going to sound so weird. And I'm so excited to go. Like we have these amazing plans. Everything's booked.
Starting point is 00:40:48 If I'm pregnant by September and I'm unwell, like I don't know if I can go. Yeah. So basically my whole summer is like up in the air with a giant question mark because everything is reliant on whether I'm pregnant or not, basically. But I like that you have not been like...
Starting point is 00:41:11 Rigid? No, I like that you didn't just stop making plans for the summer because I feel like what everyone's kind of said is if you're just being like, I'm not going to make any plans in case... That's when... It doesn't happen.
Starting point is 00:41:24 Yeah, yeah. You can't put your whole life... Exactly. Like, if you start, like, putting this whole plan into action, it's like, then you're setting expectations. Like what Greg said, sometimes expectations are not the best thing to have. You know what I mean? So I think continuing to make plans and work as normal and us, you know, plan as normal,
Starting point is 00:41:41 and then should that happen and it's the best thing in the world, then we make changes. You know what I mean? But I think it's smart of you to like have these plans, you know. I'm just approaching it in a very loose way. And I'm like, if it happens, it happens. If it doesn't, it doesn't. Yeah. Obviously, it's like way more emotional than that when you're actually going through it. But I know that this pregnancy will happen when it's supposed to. Even though I'm so ready for it. I was hanging out with my friend's baby over the weekend. Guys, this is the cutest baby I've ever seen in my life. She is, I mean, I was like nervous to hold her.
Starting point is 00:42:17 Because you know when you hold babies and they get upset and it makes you feel bad about yourself? Yeah, they start crying when you hold them. But she didn't. She just smiled and stared into my eyes. And I was like, I think I'm going to burst. Like that feeling of like, I'm going to burst of joy is how I felt. And then I pushed her in the stroller.
Starting point is 00:42:32 Pushing a baby in a stroller is like real exercise. Oh, yeah. Like a 20-pound little bowl. Up a hill. Up a hill? The strollers are not light either. I was like, I'm going to be fit AF. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:42:44 Oh, no, I cannot wait. I had my sunglasses on. I had little Benny walk in my tummy. I was like, I'm going to be fit AF. Yeah. Oh, no, I cannot wait. I had my sunglasses on. I had little Benny walk in my family. Autumn was like, who is that? No, I truly think, I used to work at a daycare like in high school. And I worked with babies that were like six. We started taking babies at like six months to a year. And like, I would like put them down for a nap.
Starting point is 00:43:00 And I would be sitting in the rocking chair with this little baby on me. And like, I was 16. And I was like, this is the best feeling in the rocking chair with this little baby on me. And like, I was 16 and I was like, this is the best feeling in the entire world. At 60? No, I'm not kidding. I felt like that my whole life. I've loved babies my whole life.
Starting point is 00:43:11 That's wild. Like I, I, like I literally was like, this is the best feeling in the entire world. Yeah. I truly think that. So like, I cannot wait till you have a baby. Yeah. I can't wait till I have a baby.
Starting point is 00:43:22 Oh my gosh. Can't be so cute. Anyway, guys, I feel like that a baby. Yeah. I can't wait till I have a baby. Oh my gosh. Anyway, guys, I feel like that's it. Yeah. I gave an acne update on my Instagram. I feel like that's maybe for another episode. I'm talking about how like much it has healed and now I'm just really focused on scarring. It looks really, it looks really good. Thank you. It really does. I feel good about it. Um, out of you. I know that was a lot. Fingers crossed it stays this way. But anyway, we can only focus on so much. So if you guys want me to talk about acne in the next episode, let me know. Anything else to add? Did we forget anything? No, I think that was it. Hey guys. We have some really fun episodes coming up for August,
Starting point is 00:44:02 I should mention. We have some like mashups coming, which is basically a compilation of all my favorite tips from top experts. So we're going to talk about weight loss, muscle, mental health, toxins, like all the best tips. And you'll see some reoccurring amazing guests we've had on the show.
Starting point is 00:44:23 So stay strapped for that. Oh, I do want to give a little Bloom the show. So stay strapped for that. Oh, I do want to give a little Bloom shout out. What? For the energy drinks. Yeah. I feel like, you know, so they launched in Target last week,
Starting point is 00:44:33 I think is correct. They're like finally, I would say almost in every Target. Like every Target I've been to now has had them. I think we're at 19%. So like if maybe your Target, your local Target you go to didn't have them before, I would go check it out. Also on Target.com now,
Starting point is 00:44:47 you can go look at the drink and find a store locator. And I've had a couple friends be like, I can't find them. I'm like, here's the link, girl. And they're like, yes. So check it out. They're really so freaking good.
Starting point is 00:44:58 I drink one every day. Please keep tagging me when you drink it because I just love seeing everyone. And the POW show. Oh, yeah. I love when POW girls are like, I'm drinking my bloom. Wait, can I tell a quick little cute story?
Starting point is 00:45:09 Yeah. Before we end? Yeah. So I get home from work yesterday, whip up in my new wrapped bloom Bronco, and I get out of the car, I have Benny with me because I picked him up from camp,
Starting point is 00:45:18 and my neighbor is like, oh my gosh. And I've talked to this woman a lot. She's this little English, what's the kind of dog I like? Not a Cocker Spaniel. It's like a Charles, King Charles. King Charles.
Starting point is 00:45:31 And his name is Winston Churchill, you guys. And he has a part like Arnold, but his part's directly down the middle and it hangs over and he looks like the most proper, like I want to like bow to him. Me and Kenny are like, he looks so proper. He looks like he should have a monocle.
Starting point is 00:45:44 He looks important. His name's Winston and he sits in her Mercedes and just looks around. Stop. But she goes, oh my gosh, like I had no idea that you, because she knew who I was and Benny was. She's like, I had no idea that you drove that car. And she goes, I love Bloom. She said she's been taking it for over a year. This woman's lost over 75 pounds. What? She literally whips out her phone and starts showing me all these before and afters. I was like so touched. Like I was like, that's incredible.
Starting point is 00:46:08 She's been taking the greens. She goes, I saw the car and I had no idea you had a new product. Guys, I ran in my apartment and I gave her an energy drink. I asked her what flavor she liked. I gave her the watermelon, strawberry one. She was so excited. She was like asking me all the facts. She's like, is there sugar? I was like, no. She's like, perfect. She has diabetes. So she was like,. She was like asking me all the facts. She's like, is there sugar?
Starting point is 00:46:25 I was like, no. She's like, perfect. She has diabetes. So she was like, and I was like, obviously,
Starting point is 00:46:29 ask your doctor, you know. But I was like, there's no sugar, but please read the can before you drink it. But she was so excited and it was just
Starting point is 00:46:36 such a cute little moment. Obsessed. And it was like, you know, people sometimes like wave at me in the car and someone stopped me, but it was just so cute
Starting point is 00:46:42 that this woman in my building had been using Bloom the whole time and had no idea that I worked at Bloom someone stopped me. But it was just so cute that this woman in my building had been using Bloom the whole time and had no idea that like that, that I worked at Bloom. Yeah. Let alone. And it was just, it was so cute.
Starting point is 00:46:50 And she was so excited to try the drink. That's what makes it worth it, honestly. And I was like, good for you. Like she had dropped all this weight and was like really on this like health and wellness kick. And it was really cool. So cute. So shout out to her.
Starting point is 00:47:02 No, I feel so like community driven right now. Just even, you know, I did a talk actually here at the collective gym in Austin over the weekend and just meeting other entrepreneurs, talking on stage, seeing people try the drink, like having people come up to me and tell me their stories. Like it really makes all of this worth it. So guys, like if you see me or Fi in public
Starting point is 00:47:24 or you want to say hi, please, please, please come say hi. I meet you guys at the airport, on the plane. It just really makes... That's the reason we do this. I feel like I'm a very mission-driven person and those interactions keep me going. Because right now we're just talking to a mic.
Starting point is 00:47:41 We're talking to each other. We're talking to the abyss. But when people actually come up to us and say like, that episode really stuck out to me. We're like, people are listening. Yeah. It's a really cool feeling. Especially with the show.
