Thank you guys for joining me for another powerful moment from one of my favorite episodes.
This is a highlight clip to enhance your week. I hope you enjoy. biggest things I like to talk about because think about the end of the day. We're done.
We're exhausted. We're literally, I don't want to mess up my mic, but we're doing a five second
cleanser to get our makeup off. If you took a white cotton round and put it on your skin,
what would that look like after you wash your face?
Yep. No, you're right. And I've actually tested this out.
And that's why I do multiple washes now, cleanses, because I was not doing it the right way.
And no one is. I mean, we're just not thinking about it. So, Pow Girls, I challenge you. Put
a timer on your phone for one minute and then cleanse your face, like massage get in there make sure you're hitting
your upper lip the bridge of your nose all the way up to your hairline your neck like chin acne
i mean are we even washing the sebum dirt oil indoor pollutants outdoor pollutants makeup like
how is your skin supposed to breathe and absorb any of your products if it's not clean
okay question i want to tell you how i do it and see what you think for example today i have makeup
on the way i would go about it is i would do micellar water i think it's called bio something
yes on a pad whole face yes then i use an oil cleanser and I go in, in, in. And I think it's, um, it's from the
acne clinic I work with in New York. Okay. Go, go, go. And then I have, um, baby towels that I use.
Yes. Me too. Okay, cool. Wet that, get it off. Then I do my clear stem, the calming cleanser.
Then I do that. Mari is the most extra and I love it. Well, I have to because otherwise,
you know me, like I will break out. Yeah. Then red light. Yes. Then products, which I love.
Is that correct? I think that's great. Okay. You might even be doing one more step than you need
to. I know. I'm a bit extra. And that's okay. Like you are an extremist in the best of ways.
You are. You do all the things right. Like
Mari's the best pupil. Emily is like, Mari, you're my best student ever.
I am traumatized. I'm not being disciplined. I'm just traumatized.
We're working through a lot of things. You're not alone if you're listening and you're still
struggling with your childhood trauma because we're right there with you. Yeah. But no, it's great. I think that's
awesome. I think that the micellar water and the oil cleansing are kind of one in the same. So you
could probably skip out on one of them. I feel like I should skip on the micellar. Yeah, I don't think
you need it. Okay. The oil cleanse will be able to get your makeup off. Cool. Yeah. I just use one
cleanser, just one gel-based gentle cleanser for my makeup and if
i need to do it's gonna want to know i love to i love the honest simple gel cleanser it's like 15
bucks okay really good and then the clear stem cleanser is also incredible a little bit more
expensive but it's very nice okay you love clear stem's great. That was my other question. With all of these recommendations,
with diet, stress, et cetera,
how important is the actual skincare we're using?
I think it's probably,
it's so hard because everyone's different.
It's like if your diet is 100, then it's 50%.
But it depends where you are in your journey
and what you're doing.
I always like to say it's probably 25 to 30%. Which is crazy because people think it's 50%, but it depends where you are in your journey and what you're doing. I always like to say it's probably 25% to 30%.
Which is crazy because people think it's the thing that will fix their skin.
Yeah.
And it's not.
It's like the added bonus.
It's whoever you're talking to.
If you're talking to an esthetician, they're going to say skincare is 95%.
If you talk to a nutritionist, they're going to say diet is 95%.
If you talk to a dermatologist, they're going to say, you know,
it's genetics and medication is going to be the 95% and just put Aquaphor on your face.
So everyone, when you're listening to people online, just know your intuition and what you think is happening in your body is really what's happening.
