Hearing this, well done, you found a way to connect to the internet.
Welcome to the QAA podcast, Premium Episode 351, Grand Theft Video Game.
As always, we are your host, Jake Rakitansky, Julian Fields, and Liv Agar.
Hey, everybody. Hey, gamers.
Hello, it's us.
We've managed to give Travis a technical issue that is keeping him out of this episode.
Out of fear that he would, you know, yuck our yum.
Try to ruin our big booty Latino video games.
You know what's funny, though, is that Grand Theft Auto and Red Dead Redemption are about the only video game,
and Witcher, I guess, are about the only games I've ever seen Travis raise an eyebrow at, you know?
I mean, he said he was probably going to upgrade his current console hardware.
This is awful.
I mean, we've kicked him off of the episode for a technical glitch.
And now we're talking about him.
And now we're talking about him.
That's right.
Well, he's not a D-Gen.
That's the one thing I'll say is like, that's why he has high standards.
He only plays, like, actually good games.
Whereas me and you...
Oh, my God, that is so funny.
I will play the brokenest.
I've played so many bad games.
I'll play something that actively hurts to play.
I'll play something where, like, right now I'm in this early access for this, like, hood, role play game.
I won't name any names, but I'm friends with the developer.
I didn't know it before the game, but through the Discord, we've become friends.
And he's cool.
But, like, he's a solo dev, and he's constantly releasing new builds.
And, like, the UI.
just like doesn't work sometimes.
Like your mouse just like won't click on like play game and the screen will kind of flash
because there's some sort of like vertical sync issue or there's some kind of issue going on.
Some windowed full screen exclusivity kind of thing.
I'll play that shit.
I will just spam the click button until I get into the game and then I'll, you know,
assess from there.
I mean, Liv and I think got a glimpse of that when you told us you were playing Path of
Excel 2, but you were playing it without the controller.
Yeah.
Yeah. We see what you're willing to do. I do the same thing sometimes. Sometimes I'll be like laying on my bed relaxing at the end of a day or something. And my head will be at the worst fucking angle. Like clearly, I'm actively hurting my neck. It's not comfortable. I will not move from that position for an extended period of time. There's something delicious. And then you get up and you go, ah! Yeah. I fucked my back. Oh my God. I'm so fucked for three days. I'm going to kill myself.
Oh my God.
I can't believe you're getting more and more to drag your video games back into the podcast
and I couldn't be more delighted.
Yeah, but this time it's not Slop for once.
For this video game thing that is not related to Slop.
It's beautiful.
Yeah, it's true.
It's true.
He has to talk about a high quality product.
As the world, as the world, oh, speaking of which they added four-player co-op to Citizen Vigilante.
That's awesome.
The fact that he even knows that, that he knows that they're not.
updating Citizen Vigilante.
Like, he's got his, like, notifications on for this Citizen Ritulanti.
He does.
PlayStation, they let me know.
No, PlayStation lets you know when your shit updates.
If it's, I just, I think because I own Citizen Vigilante, it's giving me notifications
of the updates.
But I think it's just kind of like a hard mode type deal.
I don't know.
I don't think you can play the whole story co-op.
That'd be a lot more fun.
If you invite Jake to, like, a three-star Michelin restaurant, he will be hitting up McDonald's after.
That is so.
true. You love the dirt, baby. Yeah, you know, McDonald's has really good happy meals.
Don't advertise. Jesus Christ. We don't even get paid to do it. I have seen people criticize us for
like reviewing products, like, or just saying anything good about a music festival. It's like so funny.
As if we're not out there, like, you know, being consumers like the rest of everybody, like exactly
what kind of lifestyle do you think we live? You think live? You think live is.
an ascetic. She's in a fucking cave somewhere.
Eating bug? I am not
Epictician enough. That's not a word.
That's a new word. I made it up like Shea's.
Epicurean? Epicurean? I'm referencing like Epictetus,
like the Stoic. Is that the same?
I have no idea if that's connected, actually. Maybe we're
interrupting. Different philosophy. Interrupting.
Maybe we're interrupting.
I think you should keep going.
This is like, by the way, by the way, this is like the realization that I have.
like so often in life as like the final point I'm trying to make is escaping my mouth.
My brain is like, actually what you're really doing is interrupting.
You've just interrupted.
You've interrupted the pharmacist.
You've just interrupted the GameStop employee trying to explain your pro discount.
You're interrupting.
You're always interrupting.
You've always got something to say because you want people to make sure that they know that you're
listening to them.
Well, I was saying that Liv and I were interrupting you because you were clearly in the process
of going somewhere with this word that you had coined.
Epic.
Epic.
Epictician.
Epictitious.
Epictitious.
Please ask your doctor before trying epictitious.
Epictitious may cause suicidal ideation, loose duels, and boils.
So you've dragged another video game onto the stage and we're going to get, but today,
this is the Michelin, you know?
Yes.
But this has everything.
This is so QAA related.
We've got a meme coin.
We have dissatisfaction over the loss of physical media.
We've got AI generated slop.
And all this piled on top of the world's foremost capitalism simulator.
And just last night, we all got the first look, a real look, at this video game that we've
been waiting for for 13 years.
So let's wait to talk about that.
and go back to the beginning because Rockstar has had a pretty rough couple weeks.
When Grand Theft Auto 6 releases on November 19th later this year,
it will be almost 13 years since the last installment, GTA 5,
released on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC.
I remember I was in high school when Gtay 5 came out.
Fuck.
That's crazy.
Yeah.
That must have been so awesome.
It was great.
It was really great.
Yeah.
such high fidelity where was i i mean i feel like i was a young a young adult in hollywood i had a
360 i remember i bought the game initially on ps3 and then i read online somewhere that the
that the fidelity was slightly better on xbox for whatever reason so and i bought the game again
on xbox probably for minimal difference but this is awesome because you definitely were wrecking your
finances to make this all happen yeah 100% i was selling i was i was i was i was
taking one hand and selling Peter to pay Paul.
Huh?
I don't think that's the one, but it's the new one.
The cows were coming home to milk.
Yeah, it's the one from now on.
Going from here on out, that's the correct.
That's the correct phrase.
I miss the cows coming home to milk.
I was coming home to milk.
The grands are coming home to theft, Dotto.
So in all this time, it's not really to say that fans of the series or
of developer rockstar have been left wanting. Not only have the devs continuously supported
Grand Theft Auto 5's online component for better or worse, we don't have to discuss. We also got
some pretty bad classic GTA remasters. We got an awesome Red Dead Redemption sequel. And of course,
GTA 5 released on three different sets of console hardware. I, of course, purchased it at full
price time and time again. You are the National Rural.
Rube.
I really am.
Like, you know, honey's the national baby?
I'm the national idiot.
No.
Or like, more like, not the idiot, but like the consumer.
I'm like the national, hey, hey, you sell me right.
I'll, I'll empty my bank account.
Please, call for more scams of Jake.
Jake's going to see an increase of scams that usually target higher age brackets.
