QAA Podcast - Gwyneth Paltrow-Endorsed Hyper Astrology (Premium E378) Sample

Episode Date: October 18, 2026

Ra Uru Hu, a Canadian and man Julian was one bad trip away from becoming, developed the astrology-adjacent Human Design self-help system while living in Ibiza, Spain in 1987. Human Design, Ra claims, ...was transmitted to him by a mysterious voice and the system attempts to take a more scientific approach to astrology saying subatomic particles are responsible for who a person truly is. Ra passed away in 2011 but the idea is alive and well, catching the attention, unsurprisingly, of Gwyneth Paltrow. Starting point is 00:00:02 Well done. You've found a way to connect to the internet. Welcome to the QAA podcast, Premium Episode 378. Human Design, Gwyneth Paltrow endorsed hyperastrology. As always, we are your hosts, Julianfield. Louvre Aker and Travis View. Who am I? How did I get into the world? Why was I not asked about it?
Starting point is 00:00:57 Why was I not informed of the rules and regulations but just thrust into the ranks? How did I get into the world? involved in this big enterprise called actuality. Soren Kierkegaard. There are a lot of major upsides to living in the modern secular world. For example, dental science, much, much better now. Oh, well, if it were included in my fucking health insurance, maybe that would warm my cockles. It's true.
Starting point is 00:01:24 Yes, the practice is better, but dentists are by large scammers. They're like, they're worse than, like, you know, independent, like back alley kind of like auto garages in terms of how they can gouge you. In the modern world, there are lots of things, but they're all very, very expensive, unfortunately. I'm immediately in resistance to, you know, two sentences in. I'm like, dental work, huh? I'm a big fan that, like, questioning religious traditions and roles is less likely to get you exiled or killed than used to be. That's true.
Starting point is 00:01:55 Yeah, any complaints about that one, Julian? No, it's, I've noticed that neither you nor Travis have been exiled or killed, and I think that's great. I, you know, big fan. I can say, hey, this sucks. This long tradition is terrible, and I can live my life. But, yeah, what wasn't the case? It wasn't the case for a big chunk of human history. Well, I was exiled from your country, Travis.
Starting point is 00:02:18 By yourself. Well, that's true. Remember? That is true. Yeah. I had my elbow island moment. But certainly one of the downsides is, you know, the problem explored by Kirkagard and ex-essential philosophers who came after him.
Starting point is 00:02:31 That is despite the fact that, you know, none of us asked to be here. here, we are all somehow each individually responsible for deciding was important and how to live our lives within whatever material and social constraints we're dealing with. Fuck. I know. It's bullshit. But it would be really great, really, if you could have the best of both worlds, right? Okay. Simultaneously, you live in the modern world with all, like, lovely empiricism.
Starting point is 00:02:55 But at the same time, you could have, like, some sort of detailed guide about what you should be doing with your time as a person. Not like kind of like a general command that applies to like everyone. So you're like, you know, part of this like self-indialating collective, but rather a kind of like personalized insight into what actually makes you tick based on principles that at least superficially sound scientific. Yeah, I don't have that love from parisism, but I'm with you. Yeah, yeah. Are we developing fascism from first principles here? So I think that's the really the core problem. of like human designs.
Starting point is 00:03:34 Like you could consider yourself a modern person who is an individual, but also you have some sort of like guide handed to you from some other source that tells you who you are and what you should be doing. This does describe the kind of splintered life of the average Protestant and like individualist first world nations, you know? It's like you've got to have your flare. Basically, if you don't have like some sort of esoteric system grafted to your totally dysfunctional Protestant one, you know? Life ain't that fun. That is a good summary of a lot of
Starting point is 00:04:07 mysticism in like Anglo-Saxon world, I guess, is that it's Protestantism with extra steps. Like, I'm spiritual, but not religious. Like, I just have, I don't like the institution, but I like the kind of the ideas. It's like you gave, you know, a bunch of, uh, duds a giant cathedral. And they just begun scribbling on the walls with little creolas. So human design, despite sounding like some sort of like Swedish architectural system is a modern spiritual self-help system that claims that your birth details reveal how you are built to think, work, relate to others, and make decisions. It combines astrology, the Chinese Aiching, the chakra system, and Kabbalah, with also bizarre
Starting point is 00:04:51 claims about genetics and quantum physics. Its central promise is that understanding your particular design will help you stop fighting your nature and help you reach your true potential. Oh, God, in a great world, what would come next is just live and I taking a cool quiz with a fun guy. And something tells me that we're not trying to figure out our human design type or whatever. Human design originated with a Canadian man who called himself Ra Uruhu. In his earlier life, he was a media producer named Alan Robert Krakauer. So far less exotic.
Starting point is 00:05:26 Yeah. However, Raw, which is how I'm going to refer to him in this episode, said that he was merely the messenger of the system. He claims while living in Ibiza, Spain in 1987, a mysterious voice transmitted the system to him over eight days and nights. It's my favorite song. I took a pill in Ibiza and it made me start a call. Yes, yeah.
Starting point is 00:05:49 He took a lot of things that Ibeza. The Jared Leto story. Yeah. He died in 2011, but the system he brought the world lives on. And he left behind lectures that he gave over his lifetime, which adds up to millions of words. And if anything, like human design is getting more press now than it did during his lifetime. Misunderstood genius. He's the Van Gogh of cultism.
Starting point is 00:06:14 Yeah. The core tool of human design is a chart that they call a body graph. One word, capital B, capital G, a body graph. This looks so crazy. I mean, it's supposed to be a diagram of a human design. figure, which contains the nine energy centers connected by channels and numbered what they call gates. This is how poop moves through the body.
Starting point is 00:06:39 And you can fill out your own personal body graph through calculations of planetary positions at your birth and approximately three months before it. There's this for some reason that you need to figure out the relation between these two points. So people fully understand what we're looking at here. It's like numbers and columns. We've got, you know, a bunch of boxes and triangles that are all leading to each other in a closed circle. They also have their own numbers, like, affixed inside the boxes and triangles.
Starting point is 00:07:09 And they're overlaid over a human silhouette. So it's like, it looks like a mechanical, like kind of Robocop style, like human cyborg. Yeah, something like that, hyper simplified, but it's utter chaos, just utter chaos. Yeah. I mean, it looks like like a really poorly designed, I guess, like map of a subway system or something. Yes. We have all these, all these like shapes, squares and triangles, and there are numbers everywhere. And there's like, yeah, there's like lines leading from one shape to another shape.
Starting point is 00:07:38 And, yeah, it seems like nonsense. But like, according to these human design people, this chart, personalized to you, is the key to really understanding what you should be doing. And these little symbols that are in the columns next to the numbers, are those the different astrological signs? Yes. Those, yeah, those represent the planets. Okay. Got it. Wow. Well, you know, sounds like we've stumbled on the answer to everything in the universe, and I'm just going to have to learn it, I guess. The chart is supposed to distinguish your authentic nature from the conditioning you absorb from other people. So you're simultaneously individualistic, but also you're having the system this sort of like guide handed to you, you know, from some other cosmic system.
Starting point is 00:08:20 I see. We're going to finally find out whether like gay people are born that way or not. Our chart says that you only started being gay when you were 16. You're not a real gay. Speaking of gay, but why don't you read your next line, Travis? You've been listening to a sample of a premium episode of the QAA podcast.
