Starting point is 00:00:00 it's quarry tours another week another round of quaras here with you it's your host alex and Jeremy. Hello. How's it going? What's up? And these aren't questions for us. They're questions for you. Type into the box below. What's up? Great. We are your number one Quora podcast where we ask
Starting point is 00:00:39 the question every week. What is Quora? We're trying to figure it out and we're trying to figure out what it is. We have a very special guest this week all the way from whatever any here is Brooklyn, New York. It is a stand up comedian and didn't and lady about
Starting point is 00:00:53 town. We have Brittany Karn. Thank you Brittany, welcome to the show. Thank you. I'm so honored to be here. Thanks for coming. From Brooklyn to Brooklyn. From Brooklyn to Brooklyn. Our debut album.
Starting point is 00:01:02 What an honor. Yeah. What do you think? What genre is that? Oh, like. Fusion. Fusion? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:01:10 Fusion because it's our two styles combined. Oh, okay. Wait, wait, wait. Your guys' two styles? No, it's our two styles. I'm not on the album. Jeremy is not on our album. I do one rap verse on one song.
Starting point is 00:01:25 jeremy is paid for one feature and it's weird people don't like it that's gonna bump sales like nobody likes when jay-z is on a song anymore but it gets you on the radio and that's what's important yeah yeah people throw fits about it when he's on an album wait what does this album cover look like of our album yeah brooklyn to brooklyn i think it's you guys back to back with your arms crossed like a teen movie okay here's my bitch so we're still back to back serving spy kids yeah yeah and it might be that same pose but it's like zoomed in where our face is almost like the whole cover and it's like faded into each other and then it's also like the twin towers ghost in the background so it's like so you it's like new york and alex and britney at the same
Starting point is 00:02:07 time oh yeah that's beautiful i like that from one brooklyn to the next our plans for a financial district in brooklyn now britney we've known each other for some time yes i'd say so we used to run a stand-up comedy show down the street in brooklyn oh in brooklyn where we love it we we love brooklyn a pop down the well i was gonna say the g train but i guess you could walk and i did that's it was the most convenient time of my life and it's over now thanks covid yeah but um that was the big loss from covid was brooklyn bar shows cherry tree bar with their pizza shop in the bar they served pizza i forgot about that yeah this is honestly a great segue for our podcast because we have one segment on the podcast where we ask a question at the end this is our only segment
Starting point is 00:03:00 and last week our question was i am a brooklyn hipster living in park slope brooklyn what should i eat for lunch this was weirdly yeah to quora we asked for this oh that's funny okay i see i see if they were asking when the cherry tree bar was open should i have lunch there i would say no i don't think that's not a lunch destination not a lunch destination i don't even know if it was open but if it was it's so it was so dark yeah it was dark uh the pizza was fine it was really marketed to you're already drunk and don't want to leave have some pizza there was always some like older man kind of just like alone at the bar like it wasn't like uh That was to make you feel welcome.
Starting point is 00:03:42 Like Santa Claus. Like Santa Claus. Take the words right out of my mouth. Yeah, this is a very literal question for our quora. No one answered it, so. That makes sense, because they knew we were. Just our listeners answered it. They knew we were doing this all goddamn wrong.
Starting point is 00:03:57 Do you want to read one of the listener answers? Make them feel special? Sure. This is from Didi. It says, you should check out Champ's Diner on Meserol Street. Looks like a nice hipster place. Unfortunately, it's vegan, so no hamburgers or scrambled eggs, if that's your thing.
Starting point is 00:04:10 Hey, do you know how to tell a vegan at a party? Oh, and then it's up to us to answer. That place is closing. Well, sorry, DeeDee. Sucks to suck. Bad answer. Try again next time. Again, if you are going to answer one of our Quoras,
Starting point is 00:04:25 make sure you use the word scrambled eggs. Yes. So we know you are not a real Quora user. And then... Goddamn plant. Another listener, RoboHora, said Fonda at 434 7th Ave. Yo, that place is great, but it's very expensive. So there you go.
Starting point is 00:04:40 what um it's like french no it's it's uh it's like regular mexican food but it's like fancy oh why did i get french what is it called oh i thought you said like fondant which i don't even know if that's a word i was thinking of other words i can't do it yeah that was good what other what other french things does it sound like What's that? What other French things does it sound like, do you think? Oh, I'm not doing this. Okay.
Starting point is 00:05:11 I got nothing. Fair enough. I don't think I could do it. Well, we'll come up with a better one today. You can't ask something that would actually help you in your life. That's not what Quora is for. Brittany, we had this discussion before we started rolling today, but you have been on Quora.com before.
Starting point is 00:05:26 I have. Maybe in a past life. Yeah, and I might in a future life again. Sure, yeah. Okay. But not this one. No, not in the present moment. I have no relationship to Cora outside of this podcast and the current.
Starting point is 00:05:41 We're hoping to change that. We're hoping to change that. Yeah. So I'm familiar with the interface and the like culture of Cora, if that makes sense. And I was saying, well, what I said to Alex earlier,
Starting point is 00:05:54 I just look at you like I forgot your name, but I do. The word that occurred to me earlier was like, the questions feel like i'm not part of reality like like the way that people ask questions and then respond to them make me feel like i'm in a truly like a twilight zone like it's like that's a great way great way to there's a few elements of it one is the grammar is always crazy it's like right you're right but like seemingly done from someone who speaks the language right that's exactly it it's not like not second language right that's not what it
Starting point is 00:06:30 seems like it seems like it has its own language the feeling is like i ran out of time to get this down correctly so it's just like should i should i be under the train yeah it's like missing certain like articles of speech or something but like you know right like it's not like they went through esl yeah quora.com i'm tired should i be under the train right right is that a twilight zone yeah what if you were under the train we have that it's on a different board i don't have time to go get it what if everyone had a pig face uh we've oh that's a twilight zone i love uh phrasing all of the black mirrors as if they're different low effort twilights what if everyone was on their phone in a bad way i fucking hate black mirror i kind of love it it actually freaks me out yeah
Starting point is 00:07:18 but i realize that it's i enjoy it well some episodes i've seen and some i feel just do you don't like it because you don't think it's good or you like it unsettles him yeah no i i think it's bad it probably makes you i do think it's bad i'm taking i don't i'm not like if someone likes it i'm not gonna be like you're dumb or something but it's not for me okay what about what about black mirror do you dislike so much uh from your high horse that you live on i don't know i just feel like it's been a long time since i've seen black mirror or had a thought about black mirror but i feel like the the questions that it asks are usually just like silly there it's too silly to take seriously for you yeah i feel like i'm actually
Starting point is 00:07:58 out of myself because i don't think i've actually really watched sure i haven't seen not black mirror twilight zone black mirror i've seen twilight zone i like twilight zone obviously a classic i don't think i've like seen of course i just hear references to it like the thing that i keep hearing about is the one that's about um we're like the guy okay two but i i know there's limited time one is like i'm running out of time here but i've heard of two twilight zones no one is going anywhere we have so much time except alex's cat just like ran by with a lot of hurried energy it is actually a little it's it's making us feel uh i think higher energy waffles the cat is sprinting by yeah i feel i'm like sweating i just live this way it's not
Starting point is 00:08:48 bothering me at all wait so there's one twilight zone episode where a guy like wants to read and his wife is like yeah stop reading i beat my husband yeah you know stop reading and make love to me and then it's like it's like apocalyptic and then ultimately his glasses work that's like that's like what i keep hearing yeah yeah so finally a world without my damn wife right Is that the premise? Always stopping me from reading. But steal my seed. I feel like the Twilight Zone is usually just like,
Starting point is 00:09:19 what if your boss was the devil? Yeah, yeah, yeah. I don't know. That's so scary. To illustrate the difference between Black Mirror and Twilight Zone, Black Mirror is like, well, if you're president, I do my job to a pig. Whereas the Twilight Zone is like,
Starting point is 00:09:31 what if a gremlin was on the wing of your plane, but no one believed you? It's sillier. That's kind of at the same time darker. Yeah. It is darker. It takes it to the next level that we've been afraid to touch
Starting point is 00:09:42 since the 50s, 60s. And I guess the reason that I brought it up or it came to mind back to Quora, back to the subject matter at hand, is because when I read the questions and the responses, it makes me feel like I've lost control over what my reality is.
Starting point is 00:10:02 We're getting a response out of Brittany that feels like you are in therapy right now. how does quora make you feel i just start crying feels as if a gremlin typed this um yeah i'm trying to feel like i just okay or it's always like it's always it comes up to it a certain order of things right if you're like typing a question it's like if it's a certain kind of question maybe it's like a webmd and then quora but then if it's like the questions can be about anything people i feel like relationship stuff or like whatever it's like something like google like like a blog or article and then like bing and then quora it's like third or fourth
Starting point is 00:10:44 it lives without identity because it's not google it's not a search engine it's not facebook and it's not reddit but it is all of those things if for some reason the first one is shut down somehow like uh there's a fire at reddit and so you can't go on there today you could go to quora Quora is a free agent yes sign free agent you could sign it now
Starting point is 00:11:06 you could get on get on the Quora train before all that money comes have you guys thought about buying it buying Quora people have been responding
Starting point is 00:11:14 to us online as if we already own Quora and it has been a great source of power honestly if you guys owned it that would track and I mean that
Starting point is 00:11:23 as a compliment I thought you were going to say you would use it more to support my business but that's fine wait whose business laugh at my powerful website if we owned quora if we owned it we're saying we'd want all of our comedian friends in
Starting point is 00:11:36 new york to be using it more jeremy and i own quora would you use it yeah do you mean that because i'm not gonna buy it if you don't trust me from my i'm not gonna response i'm either getting a private island or quora i have to decide by the end of the week well both sound like okay both of those seem like they require a lot of maintenance the private island more so Like gardening. I'll get some fucker to clean that shit up. You can afford it. I don't care.
Starting point is 00:12:05 With all this cash I got hanging around. I might as well buy a quarter. I'm really naturally drinking from this water. You really are in the talent zone. Paralyzed by the camera. Unable to drink water anymore. The worst that I've ever held him up. Brought to the level of a baby.
Starting point is 00:12:27 I think you want to keep the mic next to the tip. That was ASMR. I like it. I should probably keep water away from all these cables for my own. This is off the goddamn rails. Okay, so let's start. Sure, let's read some fucking Quora. It's been too long.
Starting point is 00:12:39 Number one. I miss it. Is it bad to eat dust? Okay. This is a medical question. Quora MD. And this is an ambulance for Quora MD, the segment. This might be dangerous for drivers.
Starting point is 00:12:53 Sorry. Heads up, you're not being arrested. Sorry, but I will continue to do it every week. I had an EKG flatlining on here, but it took like a while and was very upsetting. You've been watching Doogie Howser, right? Yes. Do they have a good theme song we could steal?
Starting point is 00:13:09 I'm doing research for my Kickstarter. Doogie Howser has a fantastic theme song. Maybe that should be our Quora MD. Is that illegal somehow? Oh, probably, yeah. That might be illegal. They'll never catch us. Anyway, what's the question?
Starting point is 00:13:20 Is it bad to eat dust? Is it bad to eat dust? I have to assume yes. Medically. so again this is gonna raise your hand scott olinger it's gonna raise my hand but i don't want to interrupt okay there's no interrupting you got it all i was gonna say is i think it's a real question of volume britney what do you think well i guess i was raising my hand to ask a question which is that is now my role to respond oh like in conversation is that why i'm
Starting point is 00:13:46 here yeah so we're we like to uh you know answer the questions ourselves and then see what answers are organically on the page because sometimes there's really funny stuff on the page and it's better than the question but then other times these fuckers they don't know so they don't know what's up where you guys like reflect on what you feel about yeah yeah and so with the topic being how do you feel about eating dust is it bad what would your answer be you said it's a volume question your boy did your mic double mic does it work best if i kind of position britney is it bad to eat dust i don't know i don't really think so because i think me neither a lot of dust yeah that's probably true yeah i stay eating dust you know when people are like every year every like
Starting point is 00:14:37 you know when people say that people well the main thing i always hear is that you eat like eight spiders a year which i always want to be like no i don't no no no here i was gonna bring up the spider example yeah okay but here's how i feel about that i don't really care like sure i kind of feel like yeah we probably ingest spiders or maybe that's more than feels realistic but what i do with my body is up to me and spiders yeah my body is a temple for spiders it's a spider temple and they're worshiping in your belly it's like i don't want to know that i'm eating a spider in the moment but if the idea is that i just like do then okay i don't really have that much of a defense yeah of a defense against that outside of spider traps you'd go
Starting point is 00:15:27 on like fear factor and be like i've eaten eight of these a year just 10 in a minute while i'm awake too i forgot the word i was gonna say scorpio but i mean a tarantula anyway scorpion is a different thing okay so um dust like i don't want to take a spoonful of it but if it's kind of just getting in my tubes then like i feel like wait this and the body is too we're living in new york city to be clear legally it's too i feel like the air in new york city is like 10 poison right like every day after you're in and yeah the subway is like literally metal like we're all ingesting metals that will kill us and and microplastics yeah so yeah eat some dust i just you can't be scared of it but i think if someone were like like if a countertop was like oh if you
Starting point is 00:16:18 went into like an old ass antique store and there was like collected dust sure if you blew off a map or something if someone took a spoon to it i would be concerned for them and their like yeah health mentally and physically sure mentally for sure there would be social repercussions also just like what is going on with them if they're eating a spoonful of dust i don't want to yuck anyone's yum but i would feel like oh that person probably shouldn't be doing that i guess but i think society has told you that yeah but ultimately the way i feel about it is similar to you alex it's a volume thing yeah a little dust is your own business you know Great Expectations
Starting point is 00:16:59 the the great novel yeah there's a scene there's a whole thing with this like morning old
Starting point is 00:17:09 widow Miss Havisham and then she lives in like a really dusty room and like her wedding cake is still kind of rotting on the
Starting point is 00:17:17 table she left her wedding cake on the table sorry like something like the husband died or left her at the altar
Starting point is 00:17:24 I forgot oh okay this is like truly not what the book is about there's a great reason for her to leave a cake on the table she's still in her wedding dress and it's like she lives in a really dusty environment still in the dress oh no but that makes me think that some people right and so like if she ingests dust she might have more of a resistance to it yeah she's stronger than us honestly like if you have a friend who is left
Starting point is 00:17:49 at the altar and then years later they're still in the dress with their cake rotting on the table it is your purview to get involved in their life don't leave them to their dusty room that's true yeah be a good friend be the change you wish to see are you i don't know what we're doing all right okay hold on is it bad to eat dust probably yes but we're all doing it yes it's kind of the idea with the understanding there are microplastics everywhere i don't feel bad eating sure no yeah I'm not saying it's the worst thing. Sure, okay. Anyway, David Wawoski says,
Starting point is 00:18:24 eating a little bit of dust may not be harmful for your body. In fact, it is quite healthy to eat some pathogenic germs. Really? As long as you don't overdo it. And he said overdo wrong, which is a little concerning. It is healthy because it motivates your immune system to look for ways to destroy these outside sources. Cool.
Starting point is 00:18:40 Like when you give a hunting dog a scent, but by eating dust. There is a through line of you thinking that every quora answer is about dogs i don't know what you're talking about i love it uh once your body knows how to do this your body keeps a record of how to destroy these pathogens in your body so next time you are sick because of this your body is well prepared on how to fight these uh these diseases so i think you want i don't know if i trust this man's medical knowledge i think it seems sound in theory but it sounds like something i'd come up with and i make up
Starting point is 00:19:11 shit all the goddamn time we did make that up earlier that's basically what we said okay well is this guy like i'm a pathologist or is he like um let's go on his being a good friend we can check what he studied at georgia oh my god this man's picture we can look at a picture of his face he's he doesn't have a like a job what is the line between like uh uh violating privacy and also look at this motherfucker that we have on this podcast he looks very airbrushed and he's just like yeah dude he's he's doing the smile from the movie smile he's kind of doing a smile from the movie smile oh that uh i actually don't know what you're talking about there's a horror movie yeah called smile where they do a creepy smile that david wozni is doing where it's like
Starting point is 00:19:54 they have a scene where they're like just smile like how david does you know and we're being hard on this guy it's really just a business headshot he's just in a suit and he's he hasn't even posted on quorum six years either he's not he's a he's a good man You think it's the same that's on his LinkedIn? Yeah, it's a LinkedIn pick for sure. But it's like very high contrast and like smoothed out, it looks like. Yeah. It might just be a smooth looking meal.
Starting point is 00:20:18 Wait, go back to the answers. There was one that had an intriguing start, which was- Well, one person said, if you want to eat dust, then you might have pica, which is like- Yeah, yeah. Well, I'm sorry. I knocked this out. Oh, yeah. Oh, that's okay.
Starting point is 00:20:29 What is that? Oh, that's your headphone? My microphone. I got you. My headphones? I got you. Thank you so much. All right, tell me.
Starting point is 00:20:36 Can you hear it? Yes, I can hear it. Thank you. it does when you don't have enough iron right so you like it's like one of those shows that was like you know how tlc had a lot of shows that were like this freak but it's just like someone with a difference so like some like we're being nice to this freak yeah i think it was a show about like weird habits or something and someone with pika like wanted to eat the um this is my strange addiction or something my strange addiction correct so it was they were like
Starting point is 00:21:02 wanting to eat the little pebbles on the inside of a swimming pool for some reason see those are chemicals you don't want to eat those that's not harmless like dust is which is actually good to eat and like chalk right dust of any of these things like people with pika eat chalk too and that's like a calcium thing i convinced myself i had pika as a kid because i kept eating ice cubes which is just not related oh that's just water yeah but as a dumb child i was like i must be sick you really needed the attention back then just going up to your parents being like i have pika i won't stop eating chalk how did you learn about this what are you watching uh this like that this one was an intriguing start to me um this is from jesse wilkinson who's i love to travel
Starting point is 00:21:44 and discover new delicious foods that's appropriate if you are allergic to dust mites then yes but if you're like me spelled y-o-u-r which i have had a skin test then you should be fine but that is kind of gross facts wait what is spelled if you oh if you're like me we cannot get hung up on the response grammar we're gonna be here all day all of these are written wrong yeah that's the beauty of quora that's the beauty of quora and then their picture is their picture is a big uh breakfast buffet it's so fun eggs and sausage eggs are fun this guy also hasn't answered anything in six years well what was going on here six years ago i don't know i'm kind of scared that's just well that raises a good question like some people have dust allergies yeah so if you have one yeah
Starting point is 00:22:28 if you're listening to this at home with a dust allergy do not eat dust just because we said it's good for you otherwise go ham if your stomach the clues it needs to root out dust in the future here's a funny one from a food blogger john thompson didn't the bible god condemn the serpent to eat dust all the rest of his days after his involvement in that naughty apple business I rather think that was supposed to be a punishment. Is that true? Did Bible God do that?
Starting point is 00:23:01 Oh, you like eating dust so much? Too bad it's forbidden by the Lord. Is that in the Bible? Yeah. It's under the dietary restrictions part. Fair enough. It's in brunch-a-lees. Why do you think this person asked this question in the first place?
Starting point is 00:23:17 They want to eat dust. They want to eat dust. I think they have people. I'm 100% sure they're like, I want to eat some dozen, but I got to check first. Is this cool to do? I think Jeremy wrote it. I think I wrote it, actually, as a child six years ago. Okay.
Starting point is 00:23:29 We have a lot of questions. Let's do the next one. Okay. Number two. If someone behaved like a real-life Mr. Bean, would he be diagnosed with any mental conditions slash behavioral disorders? Oh, interesting. You know Mr. Bean.
Starting point is 00:23:43 I love Mr. Bean. We all know Mr. Bean. I'm like an OG. Like, I love, this is not the point. I just love Rowan Atkinson, the man. Sure. that obviously doesn't act like Mr. Bean, but I love Mr. Bean.
Starting point is 00:23:53 Yes. That's such an interesting question. So the point is that it's like an exciting question because I think about him a lot. Mr. Bean in the context of now, would he be like, oh, this man is suffering? If you met Mr. Bean, would you be like, you need to see a therapist?
Starting point is 00:24:09 Wait, sorry. If a man was acting like Mr. Bean or is this on behalf of somebody who meets someone who's acting like Mr. Bean? If someone behaved like a real life Mr. Bean, would he be diagnosed with any mental condition i think the answer is that he'd have like mr bean ism right that's probably he has a turkey on his head yeah you have mr bean disorder see the issue is i'm thinking of mr bean but i'm imagining the rowan atkinson role in rat race
Starting point is 00:24:36 which is honestly canonically not mr bean underrated under underappreciated and this are not good. This decade will validate rat race. Yeah, I think so. As the seminal work it is. But Mr. Bean's thing is he's like kind of clumsy, right? But he's like, he has like a like a he ruins like
Starting point is 00:24:56 he's like a clown. Yeah, he's a clown. He ruins many investigations. He's like a mime who talks. Does he ruin investigations? Yeah, because I feel like there's always a stuffy detective around him. Yeah, you're not thinking of Johnny English. and i made me thinking of johnny english which is the real danger of this question yeah i was like
Starting point is 00:25:17 is it tests you mr bean wise yeah this is also just an ode to rowan huckinson and his range of clowning so um that's interesting because like at first i was like huh would someone then read his behavior and like think about neuro he definitely doesn't he seems like he misses signals sure right yeah so that's like Asperger's yeah yeah yeah I think they should this is such a but he doesn't seem like he excels at math
Starting point is 00:25:44 per se right which is an Asperger's thing he seems cunning and at the same time not that bright right but that's also just like human sure yeah maybe he has um um like a sociopathy kind of thing like maybe he just has to be on the top
Starting point is 00:26:00 this is me guessing not accurately remembering what mr bean i know i i could i don't i haven't seen mr bean in a while um i guess he does get kind of worked up in the same way that like you know how like the larry david character in curb is like focuses on like fixates on things i feel like mr bean which i yeah i haven't seen in years like has that a bit sure i have to get without speaking he's less pedantic than larry david though he gets less stuck on yeah i mean i don't think he likes and social cues speaks can you give me an example of something mr bean has done since you seem like you know mr bean the truth is that i've watched okay yes the truth is what did you say personally in real life you know mr bean like he's your uncle i didn't i don't
Starting point is 00:26:48 enjoy mr bean as much as i like his stuff in like blackadder so i feel like i haven't watched as much about mr mean but i definitely did in the 90s yeah um there's like a christmas oh oh oh something about a sock um something about a sock like he's like fixing a sock or like he has a sock is like puppet fuck there's like a thing with a sock and he does this weird like mumbly like a like a minion where it's like it sounds like english kind of yeah but it's like you know what i mean it's like babble it's like okay okay i think and so that makes me that does make me think of a disorder of some kind but then the chicken mr bean disorder name it after him i feel like he like navigates the world he like i'm sorry i'm looking i'm looking not at anything
Starting point is 00:27:38 in particular i was like right well some call it disassociating i was trying to imagine Mr. Bean like fumbling around down the street, ambling slash fumbling down the street. It's a cold day to be doing that, Mr. Bean. Oh my god, it's freezing out there. It always seems cold in Mr. Bean's That's true in England. Doesn't he go to the beach in one?
Starting point is 00:27:59 Oh, I think he does, Jeremy. I think he does. But you know what? We're kind of, we're scraping out the barrel here. What do people say? This one's really, really, really long. So I'm going to read the first two sentences. And this is Emma, former wood carver says i think i'm going to get burnt at the stake for this but i'm autistic and beneath
Starting point is 00:28:18 a very calm outward exterior facade i have roaming mr beam mr bean inner aspect that runs among when i'm by myself why would you get burnt at the stake for saying i am similar to mr b the mob is gonna have my head for this one but i am a lot like mr bead it's like a totally fine thing to say maybe you can't get away with this with uh joe biden in office i actually am very similar to tv's mr bean does she have any examples oh she's a lot of i know it's like 2 000 words but it was the golfing scenes that connected the dots for me when his mind was set on winning a game of crazy golf and he stuck to the set of rules of the games to such a meticulous extent
Starting point is 00:29:06 and he ended up getting a bus and extracting turf all so that he could just get on with the game. All I could see was my own stringent adherence to rules in the face of ridiculous extremes. His focus was completely restricted by what he was doing and he is always oblivious to the standards of those around him. That's me. That's so enlightening.
Starting point is 00:29:25 Can we put that on the podcast or is that going to get us burnt at the stake? You'll have to lock me up because I'm here to tell truth. Well, I think our instincts are... um in in collab in the connect with these yes yes what's what am i thinking we're in colluding i don't know it's like uh yeah like we were like yeah we're thinking of spectrum sure and also like fixation stuff we're kind of brooklyn to brooklyn with this answer wait it's a collaboration yeah yeah and not a lot of tension no no no just nothing but flows
Starting point is 00:30:07 between us and emma former woodcarver 2006 to 2016 all right that's interesting yeah we can see her deal yeah she seems low-key mr bean peeled and this is a middle-aged woman with like a hood on she she knows what she's talking about she's been around the block she knows about mr bean uh she shared a meme that says quora the social network for the unsocial and then has two laughing emojis and that's in the lol club which is definitely a forum i want to be a part of we're gonna go ahead and click on lol club now really quick hold on very relevant stuff and then the top thing is the butthurt report sure okay i'm already resenting having to go get the pictures of this this is terrible all right just old memes i can't look at this anymore
Starting point is 00:30:58 hey you don't want to look at the law club right now you're gonna crack up i'm curious what other people have to say about mr bean uh i do not think so being lonely and to an extent to an extent liking it is not a disease is that the main thing about mr bean though is that he's lonely no i think he's lonely because of everything else in his life he's lonely because he's like mr bean all the goddamn time yeah yeah yeah this person's very upset he just keeps saying like Mr. Bean is not sick. Mr. Bean is not your costume. Most of all, he is free.
Starting point is 00:31:29 I can even call him a punk rocker for not conforming to the, quote, rules of extremely prudent societies. I don't know about that one, man. Alas, if anybody who was different was considered with a mental condition, the whole planet would be in an asylum. Say that.
Starting point is 00:31:45 Yeah. Say it again. Say it louder for the people in the back. Yeah. That's right. we're just a world of mr beans okay okay all right sure that's just something some somebody wrote that oh wait this is an interesting medical diagnosis this is from bella freeman it says possibly dyspraxia as he is very clumsy yeah that's the big thing he's clumsy and he you know
Starting point is 00:32:11 yeah he seems like he doesn't have like the correct inner ear balance that's true wait you're actually the most medically like grounded of all of us i really do feel that way i think that's true i pick up a lot from my certain uh uh from my surroundings and i've been in many hospitals where i just sit i sit down and i listen you could probably be a doctor i could yeah medical school with my street skills well your parents are both doctors yes oh you'd be a nepo doctor yeah that's the thing they're like let me guess you want to be in here to be like mommy like no i want a stethoscope i want to diagnose mr bean they're like that's not what we do and i'm like he has dyspraxia i would watch like a very serious movie about a doctor trying to cure
Starting point is 00:32:58 mr bean that's genius that may already exist there's a 50 chance it's very sad i think what what would happen is like then the doctor would like become gradually like mr bean sure that's interesting that's good flowers for mr bean if we can just get our hands on this ip i think we're really gonna come out we could just buy it from rowan atkinson we think we can kind of carry on your work yeah okay well um this next segment i feel like is a is a good choice for britney because britney you've you've worked in child care before uh you've been a teacher yes and uh This is our, I couldn't find the right sound for this. This is the querenting segment where we ask parenting questions.
Starting point is 00:33:44 That's enough. That's the parenting sound. What is that? That's enough. It's a man saying that's enough, which is something parents do. Is it like a specific man? No, it's just I Googled that's enough and then I found the sound. That's great.
Starting point is 00:33:58 Like a kid acting up on the bus or in a theme park or in a restaurant. My head went to, like, the Sopranos. For some reason, I thought it was Tony Soprano being like, that's enough. He has to treat his coworkers like children because they won't behave. Yeah, parenting makes me think of saying that's enough. Do you find that to be the case? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:34:20 Okay, good. Okay, let's read this question. Yeah, yeah, yeah. This is Quarantine. If a baby is taken to a restaurant and won't stop crying, is it okay, if you're comfortable doing so, to hand them off to your waitress and let her hold and babysit them while you eat sent in by cody what the hell wait is it okay to give them to the waitress yeah yeah
Starting point is 00:34:41 the baby won't stop crying so like you gotta go to the waitress and be like just you take care of our baby just for five minutes just hold this not even i think for like 20 minutes i guess if you tip well give mama a break what i mean they gotta still be able to go do waitress stuff that's crazy i can't imagine wait what so you're saying it's not okay to do that um i'm trying to like even imagine what if the mother is a doctor and needs to cure mr bean yeah this is like wait that's actually so true and then she would need both hands yeah it's all coming together in that case from one brooklyn to the next two quaras because i think what we're agreeing here is that it is unacceptable unless there are specific
Starting point is 00:35:29 situations that arise absolutely unacceptable but then i also like what if it's like you know one of those like riddles where it's like well then the dad is the it's like maybe the waitress is the mother is mr bean's doctor yeah exactly dear quora what gets wetter as you try it what crawls in the morning uh stands on two feet in the afternoon and four in the evening oh i got So the baby, what if the waitress, it's acceptable if the waitress is wearing, like, one of those baby slings. Sure, yeah. If they have their own gear. If you bring that to the restaurant, that's kind of on you.
Starting point is 00:36:09 Yeah, literally to the table. Oh, another exception, if it's a themed restaurant where the waitress is going to hold your baby. That's an interesting idea for a restaurant. Yeah. We could open that. We have the most exploited workers in the world. yeah after you buy quora yeah then you open up this restaurant sure actually there's a restaurant in tokyo that's like called normally it's like and it's like a kind of like a bistro like cafe
Starting point is 00:36:33 and it's normally called chanoma which means like tea room and then in the daytime it switches to chanomama like and it becomes like you can bring your little kids they can run around that's cool but it's like a different menu it goes from tea room to mom room yeah or the other way around or I guess technically your way if you think about the next morning so it's like yeah it's just like they kind of like have special hours for it to be and that's pretty much what we're asking
Starting point is 00:37:00 yeah so I think you know it could be okay but then in a Denny's it may be seen as rude yeah okay well I think you could get away with it like a rainforest cafe I bet they would be okay with it just because they're completely broken yeah by the time that you sit down yeah because they're surrounded by
Starting point is 00:37:16 a fake elephant screaming all day it feels like in the rainforest cafe there's like an automaton like gorilla that can hold a baby yeah yes machines that hold the baby also a good idea get the robots to do it we're getting together a lot of ideas for new restaurants yeah but i'm not i think only because we're united on the fact that it is on it is not okay sure to do this okay well what are the rude what do the comments say uh wait staff don't have time for this kind of bullshit we are the parent and it is up to you to look after your child get a doggy bag and go home with your child and stop bothering waitstaff because you think you
Starting point is 00:37:51 are there you're built-in babysitter hey not and they would get fired from their jobs if they did anything like this time for you to grow up and actually become a real parent oh my god that was very rude to the to the question asker in a way we all everyone's dunking on the question asker one person says oh i see you're confusing two entirely different titles one is waitstaff who was hired by the restaurant and the other is Nanny who was hired by you. Nanny.
Starting point is 00:38:23 That sounded like Nanny. Yeah, that's what I heard. What was that word? What was the yellow box? It was Nanny. Like. You speak Japanese. You understand what it is.
Starting point is 00:38:39 Oh, what? I was thinking. How do you know I said Sopranos earlier? Yeah, yeah, yeah. But you know how in like Italian people call them like Nona or whatever?
Starting point is 00:38:46 I thought someone was, like, saying some nickname for grandma in, like, Italian. Oh, and Nani's like, what? You went right to Italy for that one. All of our sounds are Italian. It's the Metal Gear Solid clip where he goes to Italy. Oh, so you put in the word what because it's, like, fitting because it's like, oh. Yeah, it's just a good sound. It's a great sound.
Starting point is 00:39:09 I kind of see myself as, like, the Rick Rubin of this podcast much of the time. I don't know if that is, but I really agree. he's a famous producer he made like the beastie boys and stuff oh yeah shout out to rick can you produce fusion i mean brooklyn to brooklyn to brooklyn it's gonna be a stretch you're probably gonna end up with me doing it i'm gonna be doing a lot of work on this i got a fuck ton of money it's okay uh i'm trying to find a single person who's saying yes about this but i can't someone says no one is yes anding the give your waitress a baby question come on people are like how dare not one no no no let's do a thought experiment together and then a rude thing um better to still
Starting point is 00:39:51 handle the chef i want to read the thought experiment you are holding a screaming baby in a nice restaurant the server approaches takes your order and delivers your food promptly your child is still screaming your wife begins to eat because she's diabetic and has to eat soon you could go on holding the baby but your meal is expensive and it's going cold do you ask the male waiter to hold your baby while you eat is your answer in other words based on sex stereotypes oh my god people who serve food have nothing to do but meet your needs i didn't even see i did not consider the wife had diabetes the misogynist angle of this that was not there for me this person needs a hobby or a job that was like a lot of analysis yeah well they'd shut this
Starting point is 00:40:33 quora user down a peg yeah there's a lot of answers that are just like how dare you so we have to assume no correct we have to assume no it is not okay no sorry i'm sorry to interrupt you yeah it's unacceptable okay so we agree then what did the what did the pink box say it's an objection i got 24 of these we got that's enough i got the national anthem I don't know when that's going to come up but it could at any moment those are three times already I could have used that
Starting point is 00:41:11 I think play the national anthem my 17 year old son slapped and punched me because I wouldn't get him a Galaxy S21 because he already has an S10 what do I do about him send him to the military yeah that's a good idea
Starting point is 00:41:27 get rid of him give him to the waitresses of life now i don't know one is considering does maybe this is there a chance that the child is right in this situation um yeah that their phone in like a life or death scenario sure is not appropriate and so you might have to resort to force i think i have an s21 a galaxy yeah how is it if i had an s10 i'd slap so i was about to say would you slap and then punch your father if it seemed like he was about to downgrade you um all the responses to this are like send your child to jail which i really enjoy this is the first one says call the police and
Starting point is 00:42:10 report the incidents that is on the record he will probably spend a night in jail tell him when he turns 18 he will be out the front door on his own if he wants the latest the greatest cell phone after he pays for his own rent his own car his own insurance and his own food maybe he won't be such a selfish ass maybe the best thing that ever happened to him you can also you can also him that if he touches you again, he'll be spending some more time in jail. One year after posting this, I never thought I'd get so many views.
Starting point is 00:42:35 Then he goes on to be like, I see I may have gone over the line. But what's so good about this is it goes from you are right to discipline the child, which everybody is saying, to disown your child. There is no way forward with them.
Starting point is 00:42:49 Put him in prison for assaulting you. They've got phone mania. You ever punch your dad? You ever punch your dad? I'm sorry? Are we asking her or me? Either of you. Either of you ever punched your parents?
Starting point is 00:43:02 I don't think I have. No. I went to go... I have a vivid memory of this, and I feel really bad about it. When I was like... That's a great start, but... Look into the camera.
Starting point is 00:43:10 When I was six years old or so, I don't remember exactly how old. I thought it would be funny. I think because I saw some joker on TV doing this. Maybe it was Mr. Bean. Maybe it was some hooligan where my dad was tucking my brother into a top bunk and I was on the bottom bunk.
Starting point is 00:43:27 And I saw him and I said, I'm going to go, I'm going to punch him in the butt like they do in Looney Tunes. I was like, wouldn't it be funny to punch him in the butt? But it wasn't his butt because it was his front and not his back. So I just like punched him in the dick for no reason. And he got very flustered and left the room. And I just think about all the time, just like that was really uncalled for when I did that. That was not okay. That's so funny because I think punching a butt is like really silly and like wholesome kind of.
Starting point is 00:43:55 Yeah, yeah. Just like that's my butt. sure don't this was your dad his actual cock you just walked up to your dad and just rocked him in the dick it's probably like fist height too right oh it was a great shot i went right for it and there was a strong reaction of just like oh that's like something out of an adam sandler movie right yeah my kid won't stop hitting me in the dick that would happen to like david spade at grown-ups three or something yeah yeah these kids don't respect me i'm always getting punched in the dick um my sister slapped me once because i was in college and i she was she's younger and i
Starting point is 00:44:30 like she had some expensive jeans that she really liked and she was in high school and i didn't know that they were hers so i like while i was home from college cut them i made them to shorts and she got mad her eyes like you know that would drive me crazy yeah and she's a huge power play me and i got the my mom called me you know my full name like middle name like one of those things yeah but i really didn't mean to yeah yeah yeah exactly yeah that's funny you do not cut your sister's pants what kind of power trip are you on yeah yeah but sister i mean i haven't come down siblings hurting each other is very normal yeah and if i were gonna if i was gonna punch my dad it would be like like the understanding like this will change our dynamic
Starting point is 00:45:13 forever after this sure he may send me to jail and then disown me and cora would agree he's right i feel like my family i never like hit my parents or anything like that but my little sister will just tell my parents like go fuck themselves all the time really and i feel like a lot of people don't have that kind of thing where like yeah i don't have that my sister like would just be like fuck you to like my parents like in high school wow yeah that makes me uncomfortable like far away from i know right yeah just like looking over my shoulder like i hope they don't get mad about i know right i don't know if that's like a long island jewish thing or what but i feel like I mean, Mad TV race rules.
Starting point is 00:45:50 That's like the white child. It's always like, fuck you, mom. I want a skateboard. Yeah, that's what I'm saying. It's like, I don't think that... Wait, I cannot hear myself. Oh, yeah. It's my fault.
Starting point is 00:45:59 My knees are too... We'll get the guest chair closer. No worries. Mine is so taut. I'm like, every time I lean back, I'm just like... We're still figuring the system out. You got it? Yeah, I got it.
Starting point is 00:46:11 Okay, cool. I think that he should go volunteer in a community garden. Sure, the kid. Yeah. There should be some level of punishment because that is a wild choice. Yeah. Again, the fact that this happened
Starting point is 00:46:23 makes me think there is more of a context for it. And the fact is, if your child is punching you, either they're wildly out of line or it's just an abusive home where you punch them all the time. Sure. So they are punching you back. You should get them an S8.
Starting point is 00:46:36 Downgrade them. That's right. S4 punching. Galaxy S7. You're going to be sending SMS texts. Punch me again, you'll get a Nokia. Yeah. Let us keep going.
Starting point is 00:46:46 You're going to be doing your tweets via data. You better learn to enjoy snake. I love snake. Everyone enjoys snake. That'd be a hell of a question. Fair enough. Okay. Well, we've done some great parenting on this.
Starting point is 00:46:59 It's time to move on. Yeah, I'm ready to have a kid. Yeah, I think I'm ready. I answered my last two questions, which is can I give babies to waitresses and what do I do when my adult child punches me? I want to slam that button for our segment on religion. Corbidden fruit.
Starting point is 00:47:16 real theology question uh this one was sent in by cody my aggressively buddhist neighbor set out a buddha statue in his front yard and my kids see it every day if i put a cross necklace around the statue's neck without damaging it can i be held liable i think i put this one in there just because i really like the uh phrase aggressively right that really caught my interest because it feels like uh more like juxtaposition of like yeah they're peaceful and like not really practicing dogma yeah a confrontation he has a buddha statue in his own yard it's in his front well it's aggressively buddhist jeremy it's like telling you you will die and be reborn it's a buddhist giving like a middle finger yeah there are aggressively buddhist sin isn't real he was
Starting point is 00:48:14 meditating at me too hard yeah um i do like the idea of putting the cross on it i think that is kind of another fusion collab which we are introducing and it's a kind of like the coexist bumper sticker um and it's i feel like the the buddhist guy is not gonna hate that i think he's kind of like he's elevated beyond that he's like right sure i mean if you're mad about that you're not living the buddhist lifestyle it's not like you're like defacing it per se i love that this person's afraid of like their kid getting into buddhism like wow i don't want my kids to be so chill yeah i don't want my kids to have like perspective yeah i don't want to come home and smell incense in the house yeah um what's the there's like the big buddhist idea about like
Starting point is 00:49:03 impermanence like having peace with the fact that everything changes and like that's right the constant that can be aggressive in its own way yeah what is this new thing you're doing where you make a snake noise i don't remember you doing this before i don't know but it feels pretty good it's pretty cool i i um it's kind of like i'm practicing whistling but you have to work now it's not really the moment i guess i keep thinking it's gonna be the beginning of the word so but then it's just like i think i think it's like how like truly in this moment and not before like ever again it's helping me process my decisions like some people like tap a pen or something yeah yeah yeah that's just like my
Starting point is 00:49:53 little method for the moment helps you touch back into reality yeah so like maybe wait so there's something about impermanence and this question like the buddha statue also how big is the buddha how big is it is it a daibutsu is it a daibutsu is it a 40 foot tall buddha because that is aggressively that is aggressively buddhist i live next to a buddhist temple and its aggressive statue is too much for my child um frake odin atheist person who has 666 on his comment here it comes every year at christmas my aggressively christian neighbors put out a nativity scene right where my kids have to see it every day plus they light it up at night do you think it would be okay if i go onto their property and put a pentagram necklace on the baby jesus hey without damaging
Starting point is 00:50:44 it of course his name is odin his last name is odin yeah it's like a norse god this is like he's like a lot of layers this might be that's right he's lying for clout he's like i'm thor he wants us to think he's odin one eye i think it might be real he lives in denver he's an actor director writer composer lyricist therapist coach and person well that sounds really real i hate this man i know everything about him sounds it sounds like he's a morning routine jeremy that's a strong word you hate frank odin he's just trying to bring some rationality to he's just a person um he studied psychology and behavioral neuroscience at university of colorado he sounds very learned he's he only answers questions about atheism he's like a quora
Starting point is 00:51:31 one of those he's there to knock this guy down a peg for his his buddhist hate yeah well i think it would be okay because it's a nice way to bond with your neighbor sure sure people should talk to their neighbors more. That's what I think. By defacing their property. By defacing their property and messing with their decorations. Yeah, their religious symbolism.
Starting point is 00:51:53 They just put like Easter bunny ears. And then you have to explain it and you're just like, that's for my son. I don't want my kid to see your Buddha. I don't want to see nipples. Yeah, it's a shirtless man. Buddha,
Starting point is 00:52:08 does the Buddha statue have nipples? I don't know. Buddha statue. you he sometimes got it up yeah he's got nipples i feel like i've seen it sometimes they're covered by like a robe the ones with nipples and he has bound he has bountiful breasts he does in a way because he's supposed to be the whole thing is like look how fat my man is he's so fat off enlightenment yeah he's like even though he's quite thin he's actually hilariously gordo so gordo call me lizzie mcguire i don't know what any of this means i'm a i'm a buddha in my
Starting point is 00:52:45 everyday attire um brooklyn to brooklyn yeah i was gonna say that's okay yeah are you enjoying looking at these are you looking at his tits he's just looking at different buddhas he's going through like a hundred of them i'm just i don't know absent-mindedly going through Everyone pay attention for a minute Okay let's do the next one Okay forbidden knowledge Okay cool Welcome to forbidden knowledge
Starting point is 00:53:13 So this is This is not actually in forbidden knowledge But forbidden knowledge for those who don't know Is an actual Quora community Where they I guess Give forbidden knowledge They probe into the unknown Do you have to pay for it?
Starting point is 00:53:29 No So this is knowledge that you shouldn't know, but it's for free on Quora of all places. It's not on Quora Plus. The government doesn't want you to know about these ghosts. Yeah, so if it's a question about ghosts, we usually put it here, or any kind of paranormal thing is,
Starting point is 00:53:46 I feel that's all forbidden, even if it's not on Quora. I agree. Is it like adultery, or like, yeah, like government? No, it's all ghost stuff. It's like the guy, on Twitter there was a thing recently, or TikTok,
Starting point is 00:53:55 where someone claimed to have seen a giant or whatever. It's like that kind of stuff. Oh, right. did you guys see that that would be forbidden if there was a whole thing you mean you've seen a giant okay there was a tiktok i feel bad talking about it because i feel like it's people have been talking about this so much lately but it's like this is just catching your friend up with the news there was there was a big thing on tiktok and twitter where this guy claimed that he found a giant video footage of a giant okay and it was just like a mountain and he died with like a big
Starting point is 00:54:22 tower and then he claimed to have died and then everyone's like well why did the government kill him if not because he found a giant but then he posted again and was like I'm actually not dead I'm totally fine and everyone's like that's so obvious that he's just saying he's fine because the government's making him do that he went on TikTok saying oops I'm dead now and
Starting point is 00:54:42 he didn't post for a while and people were like he's dead and then he posted again and was like I'm actually fine everyone's like he seemed like he was I am not dead and there is no giant yes and he signed not the government right people are like the government's making him say that there's a giant there's not a giant it was so
Starting point is 00:54:58 I don't know about controlled opposition in the giant field. I mean, that just feels like something out of Chernobyl or something like. It reminds me of Alex's standup joke where about like, what would the government have to gain from hiding a giant? Right. Like why would they do that? What would be to access their strengths for their own ends?
Starting point is 00:55:16 Yeah. Yeah. Like either it's like they're developing a giant as like a weapon. If you knew there was an agricultural sector underground controlled only by the federal government, that's all giants using their big muscles to generate power to create weapons and create everyday products to like boost the economy would you feel okay going about your day or would you rise up i think if there was such a thing as giants that the government was using them
Starting point is 00:55:38 to like super powered men to like do things they would have been like in afghanistan immediately 2003 like we would know about it this is the plot of attack on titan i cannot stop thinking i have not seen it so or a giant it's like let's say like you know like monsanto like what if they've been mass producing a kind of corn sure that's used for different products right yeah and then like the effects either like radiation from this like corn production or something about the process or the product itself made somebody a giant and then they were like hiding this giant okay so it's not like it's it's uh science not mythological it's not like a fantasy beast well you guys were talking about giants i don't know
Starting point is 00:56:27 maybe just science and giants game of thrones person but in my head i think that they were i think they were implying that it was like a secret race of giants giants but i don't know that i don't know if that's what the actual implication no i'm just getting to your question about why would they hide a giant yeah like you guys are like i would like to reiterate this is not the quora question we have not read the quora i've not gotten to it yet we're just talking about this is just the news oh yeah this is the day-to-day update of the podcast giant i think the quora theory is a good one they'll do whatever they need for your compliance they keep you underground so they can find the sound okay brooklyn to brooklyn
Starting point is 00:57:12 britney's app is the snake noise that's really what she's bringing to the album we need that new snake sound um okay this is a question uh yeah yeah yes thank you for affirming my reference yeah we were like like parcel dog okay i'm sorry here's the question what would ghosts be the only living organisms to survive a nuclear war interesting now the word living is interesting there it's gonna pop out to you on account of ghosts famously being by definition well ghosts pops out first and then living pops out second ghosts are popping out to say boom that much is clear living contextualizes the ghosts in a way that
Starting point is 00:58:00 pops out yeah because by the they're dead they're dead is why yeah they they're not emotionally oh that's true it doesn't that's not what that means though Casper
Starting point is 00:58:12 it's not what it means Casper is dead he's living he's thriving he died of that cold and that's the that's why he died he plays in the back it's at the end of the movie he plays in
Starting point is 00:58:22 the backyard he gets a gold and he dies and he stays at the house and he meets the girl I have not seen Casper I think since I was a baby and it shows it does show i watch casper every night to stay up up to date on that would truly be disturbing
Starting point is 00:58:37 speaking of oh that guy eats too much dust if someone was like i watch casper every night sure i'd be like oh that's not okay so wait let's get a check-in uh guy who eats a spoonful of dust uh guy who watches casper every night or mr bean what is the order it's more fucked crazy people i think the i think the spoonful of dust maybe but actually i don't know if that's how i feel i just kind of said that you said it and i was like yeah i think mr bean does crazier stuff than that no i think it'd be mr bean okay you think the casper thing is it's like weird but it's like a disney adult or something night this every night thing every it's a trauma response i mean it's weird but there's nothing wrong with it my friend dust if you eat dust every night i think
Starting point is 00:59:25 you're gonna get sick if my 17 year old son watched casper every night i would send him to prison to teach him a lesson yeah punch him in the mouth yeah all right can we focus on this question please would ghosts be the only organisms to survive living get rid of living in general but like roaches famously we say are gonna live through everything right cockroaches yeah because they're so right so they're so sturdy and having sex with each other that's not why though it's It's like they're strong. They're strong. I thought it was because they give birth so much
Starting point is 00:59:57 that they could mutate fast. That's not how I understood it, but that's a fair argument. That's what I always thought it was, but I'm not a smart person, so don't take my word for it. Rabbits mate fast, but no one's saying rabbits are going to be okay.
Starting point is 01:00:11 I thought it was a combination. I think their resistance to radiation is high. All right. Because they're just little... Because they're little guys. They're just little guys. They're small beans. that's so true they're just little guys
Starting point is 01:00:24 and they have the they're made out of bean they're Mr. Bean they're the Mr. Bean of the Anthropog community yeah I thought it was like you know there's that thing about how apparently they've evolved to not even care that much about raid
Starting point is 01:00:40 anymore like they just like evolve really fast that's insane that's terrifying that is really scary I'm going to say ghosts are definitely not it chief and also pause. And how are you as a man a ghost in a nuclear war?
Starting point is 01:00:56 I mean, if you believe in ghosts, you have to imagine that everyone's going to become a ghost. That's great for the ghost industry. Right. If there's a nuclear war. What's the industry? Just that they're out. Just that they're hanging out, scaring people like in Monsters, Inc. Big ghost. Yeah, good point. Scaring the roaches.
Starting point is 01:01:13 Yeah, they need to like distribute the right ghost for the right occasion. Yes. Yes. um so i would say no it wouldn't be ghosts it would be cockroaches yeah i mean or all sorts of other stuff yeah first one ghosts are not living organisms got them rats got nailed it okay can i tell you something i'm stressed out because i feel like with every question it's like we got to find the right answer but actually that we don't have to no we often don't most of these
Starting point is 01:01:39 questions do not even have a right answer i know the answer to this one is no the answer to this one is just that question doesn't make sense you wrote the question wrong is the answer i feel like oh one of these starts with allegedly since ghosts are not proven to exist the qualification for being a ghost is being dead your honor is thus inherently invalid your honor the ghosts are not alive i'll allow it okay this is a good answer gramsie lindsey says ghosts only live in the consciousness of some humans and without the humans there there would be no ghosts thank you for the question. Mic drop.
Starting point is 01:02:15 I've never heard of a good thank you for the question. Also, shout out to this new setup where we can both read the computer. It's very good. Big fan of that. Also, I really like
Starting point is 01:02:24 thanking them for the question. Yeah, that's what I'm saying. What was your previous setup? Our whole podcast is about their questions. We were in the kitchen before. So you couldn't sit next to each other?
Starting point is 01:02:31 No. We weren't next to each other. Jeremy was at the computer and then I was kind of blocking the guests, which is why we're in here now. Also, it's kind of nicer. And you guys now feel connected.
Starting point is 01:02:39 You feel Brooklyn to Brooklyn. Yeah, we feel very Brooklyn to Brooklyn. Well, I feel like Broken to Broken is kind of our thing, but Jeremy and I are. I have one rap verse. Jeremy is a feature on the radio. It's not well-received.
Starting point is 01:02:52 There is an edited version that plays on the radio. Without it, right. And like, yes. It's exploring another continent now. Okay, yeah, let's do another one. Okay, this is our last question on the list. Does that work for us? Yeah, I think that's about right.
Starting point is 01:03:11 oh yeah big time definitely about right okay i really disagree okay this is in core romance core romance is our segment where we answer relationship questions and questions about love and everything everything about the heart on core.com this is about this is from sam binder the question is my husband likes that i have gotten fit and toned after losing 50 pounds but i want to be single what the fuck okay oh no that's not the whole question okay yeah that's the short version okay okay it's actually worse when you read the whole thing cool but i want to be single and focus on enjoying life now should i stay married or file for divorce we don't be uh we don't we both don't waste each other's time okay so this is a woman who's lost 50 pounds and
Starting point is 01:03:53 is looking great and she's like time to leave my husband yeah i'm gonna i'm gonna spoil the answers a little bit they're all furious divorced men really yeah who are wishing a hex on this My wife of 18 years just did this to me two months ago. Yeah, yeah. They're all like that. Oh, that's worse. But let's answer the question first. So she's lost 50 pounds and is already looking to commit adultery
Starting point is 01:04:15 as a time that she gets a divorce. And the answer to that, I think, is a clear yes. Yeah, I mean, yeah. I mean, if that's how you're phrasing the question. You don't want to stick around. Take it from us, two married men. Here's the thing, though, is she might be overestimating her odds out there. That's fine.
Starting point is 01:04:32 She might not be knocking it out of the park. but she needs to get brought down then right yeah i think like even if she doesn't love her husband if you're like i got hot now i want to get a divorce you should get a divorce yeah if you're not in love i do not love my husband and i want to leave but also i'm looking to get slammed while i'm out there uh yeah you should still leave i'm not even blaming her or the husband i'm just saying like she doesn't like him that much that's good it always comes down to that it always comes down to are you just into like how are you that into it right besides the fact that this question is definitely fake and written by a man i think that this woman should leave uh yeah i mean just yeah
Starting point is 01:05:08 this fake woman says i want to now focus on enjoying life you're not enjoying life right so also like yeah that's the thing like 50 pounds is a lot of pounds too so i don't know if it's like that is a lot of pounds because my first thing was like why is this woman like what about her friends like yeah why isn't she asking her friends well quora is her friend yeah which makes me feel like it's a man it's it's almost certainly almost certainly a man looking to get some woman hating going in the chat but that's like every reddit relationship advice question yeah oh i saw one cheating on my so m24 i saw one reddit relationship advice question the other day that was like i'm a girl who loves giving blowjobs so much should i like ask my friend
Starting point is 01:05:50 if i can just give him blowjobs for free every day right and it's just like you're a 14 year boy you are no chance that you are a real person lurker here holy smokes i gotta say yes to that um that sounds epic for me what's your address what are you guys doing what am i what are we doing what's that voice uh reddit voice is the voice is what it sounds like when you're on reddit like just a guy on reddit do you think that's what they sound like on reddit mine sounded a little like the halo announcer at the end i'll admit i guess i never thought about it but i buy it yeah what's your voice for the reddit people higher yeah higher i mean there are children yeah you should give your friend blowjobs no i'm
Starting point is 01:06:37 thinking like an idea of you yeah sure you youth comes to mind but i mean like a 24 year old who like doesn't have a very masculine voice and that's why he's mad at women yeah okay post a it in the chat queen yeah that's better that's not now we're talking surprise dm me your feet first of all go off and then it didn't no one is saying that to this question by the way no no it's just uncontested rage all the way down although this has a hundred or a thousand up votes up chorus so the top one has too many of course that means it's too well thought out we gotta we gotta go down and read some of these lower level ones um get a divorce divorce but don't take his stuff is the second
Starting point is 01:07:23 stuff he deserves to keep it and deserve someone better. This is a huge betrayal and says a lot about how I can't believe you do that to my friend, your husband who is a real guy. My imaginary friend who you are married to. Wow, I cannot stand people like you for richer or poorer
Starting point is 01:07:43 sickness and health fat to fucking skinny. Everybody wants a divorce for the dumbest shit. Damn. I don't know. This is a good reason for a divorce, though. it sounds like the relationship is bad you don't like each other i'm very caught up in this completely fictional situation my brother had a wife like you that's from bruce jerk water wow she didn't do anything to help him manage the house kids or vehicles this is a robot you do nothing to manage my vehicles she lost 60 pounds divorced him after an affair he cried for months
Starting point is 01:08:14 every morning after i let him move you know what fuck that guy this guy sounds terrible i hate bruce's brother and she didn't care for my vehicles um my honda was a mess he found a fantastic woman who he married there's a true partner and could be happier his ex tried to come crawling back later crying because she didn't have anyone to take care of her anymore be a real shame if this happened to you i think this actually is also made up real i think this is fake as well yeah this is like a poetry jam or something this is two sad men making up women for each other like they're in an improv class that can be kind of fun and if that's the case then eventually the two men might fall in love yeah that would be great that sounds really nice
Starting point is 01:08:54 actually everyone's taking that angle on the thread um what does enjoying life even mean that's a good question that's so funny it just gets broadly existential i'm trying to find anything different anybody who says yes or just anything even different from like my wife left me and now i want to kill myself yeah girl go off and get yours like no one i would like that now you gotta eat honey how old is this can we type that in there how old it's a few years old i think whatever yeah three years old is the top comment most questions on quora get no answers but then if you're like i'm a woman who hates men it's like okay well first of all you suck and also my brother had a wife once well this is a good segue into what we're doing today and that and
Starting point is 01:09:41 that is writing our own that's true yeah okay questions to ask quora so starting with the idea that we are going to make up a fake woman that is what is our question we're making up a fake woman yeah at the end of the podcast we ask a quora question right to see what results we get um okay so we're going to do that to farm engagement we're going to yeah you want to do like a fake we're gonna make up a nasty lady and people will love that you now you are your name is alex bataki of a picture of a man as your photo yes so i guess we should be from the perspective of a man right okay so okay it's a little harder that way unfortunately my wife of uh 10 years left me after seeing uh the um i want to say like some kind of motorcycle parade um is there like a
Starting point is 01:10:30 motorcycle parade people recognize motor rough rider rough the rough ride my my wife left me to pursue the sons of anarchy oh yeah right right maybe it should be like my life my wife left me after 10 years um because i spent too much time on quora i spend too much time answering questions on quora i want to try to like really meta yeah we don't want to we don't want to be meta we want to touch hearts okay like the sons of anarchy do okay so she's leaving me for a son of anarchy my wife watches sons of anarchy all the time now she's telling me she wants a divorce to find someone more like perfect and then we'll find the guy from sons of anarchy sons of anarchy what what uh what is inspiring this angle for you um well it's um from a place of creation
Starting point is 01:11:17 because as a fiction writer myself i i have to create a world i mean the motorcycle aspect specifically i think that will trigger something for guys who feel like they are being uh out out alpha because it's an alpha by a cool yeah it's undoubtedly very alpha to have a motorcycle because they you don't have seat belts on that thing so this is what i've written so far i'm sorry i do not have a motorcycle then uh my wife of 10 years watches sons of anarchy all the time now she wants a divorce to meet a hot motorcycle rider for herself should i let her do this that is a great way to phrase it okay cool jeremy that's a great quora question make sure to tag all the boxes divorce wives marriage and and if any listeners want to answer please use the phrase
Starting point is 01:12:02 scrambled eggs so that we know that you are coming from a place of bias because i want to know whether to let her go yeah okay cool and that's going to be quarators for this week oh my goodness what fun we had on the question website quora.com britney thank you for coming on thank you for having me it was great having you it was great uh until our album comes out where can our listeners find your work at home and abroad oh um well i post about my shows on my instagram which is james underscore earl bones and great instagram handle thanks yeah that's where i'm currently working on make sure you do not type james earl jones that's a different account no that's a mistake yeah james yeah i post um yeah perform i'm going on the road a bit
