Starting point is 00:00:00 if anything i feel like i want to elevate claire voices and that's right exactly exactly elevate claire voices listen to claire's listen to claire's when they talk not all claire's hashtag not all claire's what are they doing a few things that are unjustifiable but not all of them those just bad ones what was the guy we were talking about earlier off pod about a guy who posted about me talking about double barrel oh oh somebody in our youtube comments was like i see claire also watches this is a submarine salvage video it was a joke reading that being like he was being a goof he was doing a joke because you you thought that you were last week i have to cut all of this but last episode was was life at sea and you kept going double
Starting point is 00:00:53 double Boyle and Trouble, and someone was trying to connect it to a real sea thing. Wow, funny. Keep doing that, y'all. I thought the idea of Claire watching a niche YouTube in-depth video was funny
Starting point is 00:01:09 to me. I thought it was funny. I feel like I have seen something like that. Actually, I can only fall asleep to wreckage videos. Every night I watch the submarines crash and help me sleep. I watch the, what was the submersible?
Starting point is 00:01:25 The Titanic guys who they imploded. I just watch over and over again. Oh, you know, you can't ask me to remember the name of a ship that exploded. It was called Titan, I believe. It's not a big enough news event for me to, it's just, that's a chuckle news event. R.I.P. I remember that happened, this is the billionaire submersible where he went down for no reason and got crushed like a tuna can.
Starting point is 00:01:47 And I was on vacation and I read it and I went, ha! and uh that was it it's like a darwin award kind of situation yeah they did win i'm not keeping those proper nouns it's full in here i'm pointing at my head it's a podcast it's full in here it's an audio medium i got so many card names i gotta remember slam one slam one hit us with a card name Tear Asunder. There you go. You wouldn't know anyway. Name a card.
Starting point is 00:02:20 Get out of here. What game is that? Probably from Flesh and Blood. It's from Flesh and Blood. I feel really guilty because I'm always looking at these things all damn day long, and I still don't remember the names of them because I just look at the picture, and I'm like, that's the one with the horse on it. I know what it does.
Starting point is 00:02:36 It's the horse one. I come up with my own names. So you have name blindness as well. Right. Sometimes I'll get too high up in the tournaments And I'll be like I play Cthulhu And they'll be like what is that And I'm like I don't know what it's actually called
Starting point is 00:02:49 It says right here I don't know the name of the card It's got Cthulhu on it When it destroys your deck I don't know what kind of learning disorder this is But I have it and it's serious And it's not a joke Hit that button
Starting point is 00:03:06 This is an educational podcast He's got silly boy disease and with the sound of the robot you're back for another week here at quarators america's premiere quarrel-based podcast hello lover hello lover hello lover the audience is the lover you're our lover. Looks like our bed is full, and we're ready to go to sleep and enter the world of dreams. Is this a dream episode?
Starting point is 00:03:45 Well, it's an episode of your dreams because it's really great. It sounded like you were teeing up an episode about dreams. Oh, it's not related to dreams. It's kind of just one branch off of that. Okay. You know where dreams come from is
Starting point is 00:04:00 the mind. Is that not true? Yeah, I can see that. That's unobjectionable, and Objection. No, no, you can't. Sustained. Thank you. Judge.
Starting point is 00:04:15 This is highly unorthodox to sustain such an objection. This is a kangaroo court. Today's theme is Quest for Wisdom. It's the pursuit of knowledge that keeps us all in the saddle throughout the week, isn't it? Yeah, what is wisdom if not a horse? That's what you said. i didn't say it was the horse it's just it keeps us in the quest we're in the saddle for the quest it doesn't you know let's not split hairs here the point is that there's a lot to learn online
Starting point is 00:04:48 and this is an educational show now when we started the show itunes asks you it says what kind of show is this and i believe we are partially filed under education yes which is probably destroying our number if we had put comedy we'd be the biggest podcast in the world by now no but people keep coming here to learn and they say it this is not a show for laughter see i feel the opposite way it's not a show for learning okay fair enough no no wait wait wait i keep telling people we're an anthropological show okay that's good can we add comedy is it too late or i think it's in there it's i think it's comedy and education it's like hitchhiker's guide to the galaxy right which is a quest for wisdom i think this is all clear i think it's
Starting point is 00:05:38 clear enough the listeners are right when they look at it they say there's no laughing matter because it's a matter of great human exploration uh-huh and we've got a heck of a space pulled up for you this week if this is your first time listening to the show surprise how'd you get to this one uh but we're happy to have you every week we like to start with a space which is kind of like a subreddit it's a little group inside of quora and this is our space of the week space of the week this is the seals of wisdom get on the saddle you're going to ride the seal of wisdom
Starting point is 00:06:19 giddy up wow giddy up the bio for the space is explore the knowledge for achieving right growth and the header image is very interesting it's a it's a brain and then it has where all of the different facts are stored with lines yeah there's some sort of like ai brain happening in here where half is black and white and half is rainbow the car is in the black and white half car what's in the rainbow half oh yeah yeah see that car so that's where car is open your eyes the rainbow guitar is in the other half guitar and bicycle and fish this is like left brain right brain i guess yes is what it's i always get confused because left brain right brain is the opposite of the political spectrum where you think left brain guitar is actually right whereas in politics
Starting point is 00:07:13 the left is artsy while the right is so smart and analytical. They're cold and unfeeling. They're car. They're basically car. They drive to the money. That is true.
Starting point is 00:07:26 Republicans are car and Democrats are guitar. That's a damn thing. Write that down. This is an educational podcast. And that's why they get so much done. Because they're driving to success. While these Democrats
Starting point is 00:07:39 are freaking singing songs. Stairway to heaven. That's how that goes. Stairway to heaven. The Democrats would love the branding that they are guitar. They would. It would kill for that to be public knowledge. Unfortunately, that would be quite car of them, wouldn't it?
Starting point is 00:08:00 Therefore, undoing their whole branding. Who's donkey again? Who's donkey? Shrek's friend? No. Who's elephant? Who's donkey? Oh, Democrats are donkey.
Starting point is 00:08:11 You don't know which one is the donkey? I always forget. Because a Republican never forgets. How could you forget? There's an elephant. I don't know, because they're equally as deep-de-dee. I don't know. They're both jackasses to me.
Starting point is 00:08:29 Claire's been watching a lot of Mind of Mencia lately. You know, we talked about this off mic. We cannot have Mind of Mencia rubbing off on the podcast. Too late. I know, we've already passed our post-woke moment. We can't have a mind of Bencia reprisal on Corators. Now, Seal of Wisdom, to come back to the space here, is largely monitored by this figure, Michael Bob.
Starting point is 00:08:53 Yeah, so this was emailed to me. I found this in my email. And basically, the Seals of Wisdom is this guy, Michael Bob, just posting lists. And also this other guy, Nasir Khan, posting lists. So I posted, I found one, this is what was emailed to me. Shout out to Nasir Khan. The five dirty moves that make you dangerous.
Starting point is 00:09:12 Oh, baby. Oh, baby. I found it. Tips for them. Going on a pee, girl. These are five dirty moves that make non-binary people dangerous, I guess. Tips for them. What is this a picture of?
Starting point is 00:09:27 This is a picture of a chess game at a cafe of some kind. Which happens all the times in movies and yet never in real life. I skimmed this space because I didn't want to read too much of it before being on the freaking podcast, but it's pretty good. Trying to stay fresh. It's pretty good. He's got some great lists. I could always use a dirty move that makes me dangerous.
Starting point is 00:09:46 So I know that chess is the image, but it's also about life. Okay, so what's a dirty move that makes you dangerous in chess when you flip the board and shoot them? Yeah, something like that, I guess, or some sort of nasty gambit. Okay, I guess castling. You get the pieces all sticky. You can't move your piece if you can't take it out of your hand. What's the rule?
Starting point is 00:10:08 When your hand comes off of it, that's when the move is officially made. That's right. It's touch move, but the pieces are sticky. Stick and move. All right. Well, let's read the five dirty moves. Okay. Want to read these, Alex?
Starting point is 00:10:19 Yes. One, sit near the leader during meetings. That is not what I would have guessed would be number one. This guy rules. Greatly surprised by that dirty move. This guy has the seal of wisdom, and he talks funny. Being physically closer to the boss can sometimes shift attention away from you if problems arise and may suddenly position you as part of the core group.
Starting point is 00:10:46 That's a good rule. I feel like this guy, his rules are very interesting. They're very unique. Usually on Quora, when we find lists, it's like 100 lists to be a man is number one. Never hug your wife or whatever. But to respect. Yeah, it's always like whatever. You need dignity.
Starting point is 00:11:05 Copy pasta. But this guy, I don't know what he's talking about. This is all original shit. Be close to the boss? Number two, chew gum before an important moment. I've never heard that before. Luckily, I was at a dollar store recently. It had to make a credit card minimum, so my house is actually full of gum.
Starting point is 00:11:25 I got like 10 packs of gum. This says chewing gum can help reduce stress and calm your nerves, is allowing you to feel more relaxed and focused. That's true. I think chewing gum is good before an important moment because a lot of times gum, the wrapper has a little comic strip on it and those comic strips can inspire you
Starting point is 00:11:41 to be a maybe funnier person. Yeah, and they can make you laugh and relax. Yeah, it gives a little pun or something. You see what Bazooka Joe's up to. But again, this is dangerous. Before you have sex for the first time. Yeah, before the stress gets involved. I need to read what Bazooka Joe is up to before I make this woman call.
Starting point is 00:12:03 I'm kind of laughing at Bazooka Joe because I'm like, man, Bazooka Joe, my day is way better than yours right now. You're just going to school or whatever. I'm hearing the fuck, Dan. I was nervous about having sex, but now that I remembered how shitty Bazooka Joe's life is, I learned to count my blessings. That's his deal, right? He's like a child who's hurt by a bazooka. I think that's right. He's like a war orphan.
Starting point is 00:12:27 Is that true? I don't know. I don't know. He's a victim of war? Yeah, he's got PTSD. You have to get shell-shocked. Yeah, because, I mean, he wasn't just a little hurt. He was shot with a bazooka.
Starting point is 00:12:38 Is that true? He's Bazooka Joe. I'm looking him up. Nah, he's all right. Yeah, go ahead and look that up. Pull up Bazooka Joe and see if he's missing limbs. He does have an eye patch. Yeah, he was shot with a bazooka.
Starting point is 00:12:49 Damn. He's like Lieutenant Dan. He should thank his stars he's alive. why does he have an eye patch this ran until 2022 jesus christ his friend's name is pesty formerly orville orville was better than pesty sorry it's his brother it's his younger brother all right well he wears a cowboy sombrero i think we've read enough about bazooka joe i personally wouldn't have pulled it up myself i would have continued with the seals of wisdom thing number three
Starting point is 00:13:24 use silence strategically i'm never doing this that's sort of my whole thing claire waits for you to make the mistake she's the assassin very wise of you claire it says when you stay quiet after someone speaks people often feel the need to keep talking sometimes revealing more information than they intended that is what's happening to me it's all the time more information than i intended yeah and every time i talk too much i i seem less wise because i say what is the donkey what is the elephant sure and uh if i hadn't said that if i hadn't said that you guys would have thought wow she definitely already knows all about where all of the animals are assigned to now i use my silence this shit works
Starting point is 00:14:17 so well on me when people do this with though like you're saying something and then they just never respond and then i reveal everything right don't please don't use this if you're listening against me but i've learned it works really well i feel like i've been using it more to get the upper hand yeah yeah because here's the thing is the hand that holds the cars makes the plays It's like a negotiation tactic. They really use that shit. Like, warriors will do that. Yes.
Starting point is 00:14:43 Yes. And you don't have to say anything. It's kind of an unspoken affect. It's unspoken. Yes, unspoken. And I think our modern culture is so used to constant stimulation that anybody born after, I don't know, 1985 or whatever, a good example of this is that I can't,
Starting point is 00:15:05 if I can't think of something, I'll say, um. Or I'll say uh, and that's just to make a noise so it sounds like I'm still talking while my brain has time to catch up. Right. People didn't used to do that until recently. Is that true? They didn't say um in like the 50s? Not nearly as frequently. What the fuck? I think every once in a while. They were talking really fast.
Starting point is 00:15:21 Yeah, and they do. They dance and they sing in the rain. We need to return. We must return to the rain. We must return to not saying um. Our tap dances have become crude. I'm gonna keep reading this list because there's more. Number four, say we instead of I.
Starting point is 00:15:37 Only a king could do this one. It says, using inclusive language makes others feel involved and builds a sense of teamwork and shared purpose. I don't know. This is broad. Yeah, that one doesn't feel... A king can say that. But unfortunately, we're doing no kings now.
Starting point is 00:15:55 I don't know if you guys heard. Oh, right. No kings. Quick test. Elephant or donkey on the no kings. Who started no kings? or who is king? Which animal is no kings?
Starting point is 00:16:07 I'm going to say donkey. That's right. Okay. You're paying attention. Donkey. One party is donkey. One party is Shrek. That's what I am talking about.
Starting point is 00:16:18 The Republicans just want to go back to their freaking swamp. For real. Right. But at what cost? I mean, Trump did talk a lot about swamps. He turned to the swamp. That was kind of his whole thing
Starting point is 00:16:29 was swamp stuff. I would love to see one of those like fascist memes things where it's just a really nice picture of a swamp. A little hut. This is what they're taking from you. It's like a fucking AI-generated blonde woman with huge tits on a swamp.
Starting point is 00:16:46 There's a pregnant Fiona. This is what they take from you. The Jews don't want you to have pregnant Fiona. Notice in my swamp there are no Jews. Everything's pretty good back there. all right number five this is the fifth gators gators would be a problem in a swamp all joking aside number five is the last five dirty moves that make you dangerous five maintain steady eye contact okay i hate that confident eye contact can make you appear more trustworthy
Starting point is 00:17:20 composed and in control during conversations follow the space if you want to appreciate me i will follow this space yeah we have all the space watch this space watch this space there's going to be so many tips to be dangerous upvote for watch miss base top comment from heidi larson who's a former doctor says huh i misread his five dirty moves that make you dangerous so disappointed that's what it is that is what it is that's what it is are you not a doctor anymore because you're like you got hit in the head or something that's exactly what it is five dirty moves that make you dangerous maybe she said this and then he updated the title i'm starting to think michael bob is not his real name yeah let's explore michael bob some more hold on i want to
Starting point is 00:18:04 yeah i want to explore michael bob i also would like to is there a way for me to get to the bottom of the post history yeah is there a way for me to know yeah let's go to the log here yeah if you sit near the leader during meetings no i think it's just uh it is what it is man that's confusing okay michael bob he's also posting in psychopath level okay so this is what's psychopath level level this guy rules i'm telling you he's got great stuff he's look at all these lists he has okay so this is his most recent list from four hours ago psychology facts about love four hours ago one crazy if you love someone because they love you it's empathy when someone cares deeply for us we naturally feel emotionally connected in return this mutual emotional understanding
Starting point is 00:18:47 creates empathy and strengthens bonds two if you love someone for their looks it's obsession Physical attraction can be intense and exciting But when appearance Becomes the main reason for attachment It may be more about obsession than emotional depth And this is on a psychopath's level This is something a psychopath thinks This is so long
Starting point is 00:19:05 There's a lot of ways to love someone In psychopath level I want to go back to the Seals of Wisdom I think that's going to be more interesting The other stuff is too twisted He does also have His own his own questions. I'm kind of curious
Starting point is 00:19:22 to see. To the tune of Dirty Pop. Michael Bob. He has questions like what are the rarest things in the world that only monks know? I would like to know that. I bet it's about not doing things because that's kind of their main... Or shaving that little circle of bald
Starting point is 00:19:39 in your head. That is the main thing that monks know how to do that no one else knows how is how to perfectly get the bald circle. How do you do that? I don't know. I'm not a monk. I think they shave it, right? I don't. There's no way to know. I don't think they just get that. You think they sit under a waterfall until their hairs blast it off of their head?
Starting point is 00:19:58 Yeah, maybe it's a monk thing. Can get into their brain more quickly. Oh, I know why they do it. That's so God's wisdom can get into their brain. But how? I think they shave it. I think it's the waterfoddle. It's the waterfoddle.
Starting point is 00:20:13 I think it's the waterfoddle. That's a really good point. We're seeking wisdom today. His other question, what's the real gazing of eyes exercise benefit? What does that mean? I would love to know. Gazing of eyes exercise. It doesn't rhyme kind of cool.
Starting point is 00:20:32 I partake in this exercise quite frequently when I'm around my handsome co-hosts. What's the real gazing of eyes exercise benefit? Alex, what's the real gazing of eyes exercise benefit? Your eye flexors. your eyes are in traction i guess they're saying he thinks that there is some sort of physical exercise benefit for eye gazing into someone's eyes if you have interior eye tilt you can undo it with eye gaze that's more like a no blinking war damn this no blinking war i want to read this this top comment on
Starting point is 00:21:12 the space from Nasir Khan that 90% of your problems will go away if you dot dot dot. And then there's a picture of a woman reading a book on the subway in the priority seating section and it says, feet on the seat. Come on, girl. That's manspreading.
Starting point is 00:21:29 She's manspreading. The book is called Geek Love. Oh, girl. That's manspreading all over. what if a disabled person needs to sit there what if a disabled geek needs love i'm sure it's covered in the book okay so there's oh there's so there's a big list describing this girl i bet she does not know this is this photo either it's too bad 90 percent of
Starting point is 00:21:54 your problems will go away if you one stop wasting energy on things beyond your control thanks to stay calm instead of reacting to disrespect double fact three stop investing and people who give it nothing in return. Ka-ching, ka-ching. These are all pretty basic, honestly. This is what I'm talking about. This is what most of them are like, but where are the ones that are like,
Starting point is 00:22:11 be close to the boss? That's what I want more of. You know what we need less? Well, that's a Michael Bob thing. Less Nasir Khan, more Michael Bob. Yeah. Yeah. Nasir Khan's just pushing a wolf chip.
Starting point is 00:22:19 No, actually, this one's great. This is what I saw the other day, I think. Ten things that ocean teaches you if you actually pay attention. I need to know that. And then there's a picture of a wolf that says, I have no energy to hate. Not an ocean animal.
Starting point is 00:22:33 That I know of. Okay, this is better. This is better. Ten things the ocean teaches you if you actually pay attention. Well, wolves look out at the ocean sometimes. Depths and noise are opposites. That's number one? Wait.
Starting point is 00:22:48 Let's be very clear about what's happening. These are the rules the ocean teaches if you pay attention. And number one that a wolf has noticed, depth and noise are opposites. The deeper you go, the quieter it gets. The quieter it gets. That's true for the ocean. It's true for wolves. In the ocean.
Starting point is 00:23:06 Surface waves crash loudly. Chaos lives above. But far beneath, everything slows down. Silence takes over. People are similar. The loudest rooms are rarely the wisest ones. Real death usually doesn't announce itself. Number two.
Starting point is 00:23:20 This is a real Alexi quote. Tides don't negotiate. That's right. That's right. State your facts. They just keep moving. The ocean never argues with the moon. It responds.
Starting point is 00:23:40 Yeah, read that. Again and again, relentlessly. Life moves the same way. Time doesn't pause because you feel unready. Seasons don't wait for permission. Some things are bigger than your resistance. That's so true. The tide is always in a beautiful dance with the moon.
Starting point is 00:23:57 The tide doesn't negotiate with terrorists. In a dance. Tide always be closing. Yes, that's right. Or is that the moon? The moon is closing the tide from low to high. The tide is what's getting coffee. Right.
Starting point is 00:24:12 Tide gets coffee by moving. We shouldn't think too much about that analogy, I think. But this list could just be the first part with no explanations, and it would make kind of the same amount of sense. And I respect it so much that there is an explanation after each one of these. This is a wolf telling us this. Number three, the most dangerous waters look the calmest from shore. That is not true.
Starting point is 00:24:37 I disagree. Sometimes the dangerous ones have big crazy waves and stuff. Still water can hide deadly currents. That can be true. Not everything threatening arrives loudly. Sometimes the greatest risks come disguised as comfort, certainty, or control. What looks peaceful from a distance can pull you under when you step too close. Number four, nothing fights the wave and wins.
Starting point is 00:25:01 I want, we need a shirt of every single line of fish. I would love a shirt that says, like, the tide doesn't negotiate with the moon. And it's a big picture of a wolf. With no moon or tide on it. Okay, you adapt. Fish don't battle the current endlessly. Surfers don't defeat waves. Sailors don't command storms.
Starting point is 00:25:23 They adapt. Number five. The surface is for storms. That's good. A peaceful life isn't one with no storms. It's one where your center remains untouched by the weather above it. Number six, creatures that survive the deep never needed light to navigate. That's big facts.
Starting point is 00:25:46 Number seven, salt preserves. It's kind of a cooking tip at the end there. Salt stays good, but it also keeps things from decaying. Difficulty works like that. Does it? I guess. It's kind of like salt. The hard things in life do the same.
Starting point is 00:26:03 Pain changes people. Pressure refines them. Certain struggles preserve parts of you that comfort never could. Number eight. Every shore in the world is being quietly, patiently reshaped. That's true. That's true. Everyone knows that.
Starting point is 00:26:14 Everyone agrees with that. Even the shores you really look up to, they're being reshaped. Number nine. The horizon only looks like an ending. Yeah, I guess. Fair enough. I guess. The main thing about the horizon is you can't get to it.
Starting point is 00:26:28 Yeah, it's always too far. Because it's always far away. But it also looks like an ending as well. Because it's where the vision ends. Yeah, that's right. Right, right. Where the boats get small. Right, because they're so far away.
Starting point is 00:26:42 But it only looks like an ending. Number 10. You always leave the ocean feeling like you remember something important. Not true. What does that mean? What? Oh, I always forgot my keys in there. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:26:54 What? I was going to say, I lost my sunglasses in the wave. You always leave the ocean feeling like you remember something important. That might be a you thing, man. I went to the beach with Ben one time, and he dropped his really expensive glasses that were last made in like 1910 in there. And we had to spend like hours feeling around with our feet trying to find that. That's his own damn fault, getting those little, little glasses. It was most his fault of anything that's ever happened in the world.
Starting point is 00:27:18 Context for the listener. Ben is a great comedian in New York City who famously has worn the same very small glasses for, like, what, 15, 20 years? They don't make them anymore. They don't make them anymore. They don't make them like that. It's kind of his whole thing. He looks like Vash the Stampede. And did he break a pair and he couldn't get more or something?
Starting point is 00:27:38 What was the deal? He dropped it in the sea. Okay. But he got it back. He's still wearing the small glasses. Yeah, I mean, he's overcome. This was a while ago. Okay, okay, okay.
Starting point is 00:27:46 There are ways to find these glasses, but you'd have to shrink bigger ones. Why does he like the glasses so much? Do you know? It's part of his look. Okay, fair enough. Every man needs a look. That's surely in this space somewhere. He would write a great list of things.
Starting point is 00:28:00 A seal of wisdom. He could really seal wisdom up on here. That's the end, by the way. And this one also has a follow me. Follow me. The ocean strips away distraction and reminds you how small you are, but also how connected you are to something ancient, rhythmic, and alive. You feel quieter, clearer, more honest somehow,
Starting point is 00:28:22 as if part of you recognized something that your mind had forgotten. Follow me. Hashtag team follow back. Hashtag whip them out Wednesday. There's one comment that says, this is very interesting. And not that this is the funny part, but his name does have a lot of E sounds you don't hear often. okay do you want to read michael bob's how to build an aura that people can't ignore
Starting point is 00:28:47 oh i think we misread that actually that's how to build a aura let's examine this gentleman in the photo of aura people can't ignore for a moment it sort of looks a little uh who is this he's sort of giving hunter biden yeah and hunter biden a famous example of a guy who has an aura people can't ignore who is that's true actually he does kind of i know i feel like the people like oh it's jeffrey dean jeffrey dean morgan he kind of looks like hunter biden doesn't he does well that's just because hunter biden's sexy like jeffrey dean morgan why isn't jeffrey dean morgan posting like photos of his dick out high on fucking meth or whatever he's spending more time on his aura here's the thing is i've
Starting point is 00:29:30 been trying to buy more shirts like this so i think i'm a while on my way yeah it's kind of subtle i'm saying it for the audience yeah you can't you can find them sort of anywhere anywhere you look yeah but it's a matter of perspective how to build a aura that people cannot ignore we're still in this space yeah yeah well it's the seal of wisdom claire we're seeking wisdom you want to read this one claire sure speak less but speak with purpose not every thought needs to be spoken people value words that carry meaning when you speak thoughtfully others naturally pay attention oh isn't that interesting it is pretty interesting to avoid talking without logic okay i feel like they're talking to me emotional reactions are temporary but logical
Starting point is 00:30:18 thinking creates respect before speaking ask yourself does this make sense does it add value i would kill myself before i ask myself does it add value in conversations fuck off does this makes sense shut the fuck up do not make me think like that no it doesn't make sense it's like tech tech brain linkedin brain for for having a conversation someone's like how's your day and you're like oh i should say it's good but does that add value to this conversation how to be sexy like mark zuckerberg maintain eye contact okay eye contact shows confidence honesty and presence it makes people feel heard while also making your words more impactful sometimes people make eye contact
Starting point is 00:31:01 with me when they're talking to me and i'm like you're looking at me too hard yeah you know what i mean i was there's this old article in gq from like many many years ago i always think about it was an i think it was gq it was an interview with justin bieber and they they said that justin bieber makes eye contact like someone who has been told it's very important to do so right yeah that all the time well it's too intimate yeah it's it's it's a window to the soul it's this very uh value that they're trying to get out of it the maintaining eye contact it's too much for claire because claire doesn't want to open that level of intimacy with everyone yes no only with her clients and her big sales pitch i just i feel like yeah it is sort of in the same vein of like
Starting point is 00:31:50 when people, when they tell you just repeat back someone else's name it'll make them feel important and they will listen to you more. Is that a real thing? So that's a good point, Jeremy. It's a pretty good one, Jeremy. That does make me feel important. See, people like hearing their name.
Starting point is 00:32:07 What the fuck? I don't like how that works. We really are just dumb monkeys. We're just a bunch of apes living on this rock. That's right, dog. We all took those shrooms. Ah-woo. Ah-woo. Do you know about ape shroom theory? No, I don't know. Wait, let's hear about it.
Starting point is 00:32:22 This is like a bullshit theory that Joe Rogan's obsessed with, apparently, and my friend Chris, who told me about it, that evolution started because a bunch of gorillas ate mushrooms that they found, and then they became humans. They were so high that they became humans. And they'll be like, well, there's a scientist who says it's true, and you look it up, and it's like the most insane person you've ever heard of. They started losing hair on their chest. But he's a scientist, technically. Think about that. I mean, it's just a theory. It's just a theory.
Starting point is 00:32:53 I mean, it's kind of hard to prove it's not true. It involves a lot of, like, oh, you have proof the apes weren't taking the mushroom that made them human? But you could just say anything. I don't know. I believe that one ape had to take such a big shit, it created consciousness. Like, who's to say? Disprove that. That's a bit crude.
Starting point is 00:33:12 I was going to say, my issue with the name thing, here's my move with names, is I ask people their names when I meet them and then I'm so busy patting myself on the back about it in my head. I do not listen when they tell me their name
Starting point is 00:33:25 and then I instantly have forgotten it. This comes up all the time. That's why you've replaced your last podcast with people who have basically the same names. Right.
Starting point is 00:33:33 It's easier for me that way. And when Claire is named after your wife. You've created Jeremy and Katie. You've moved from Jeremy and Katie to Jeremy and Claire. I've never called Claire Katie.
Starting point is 00:33:44 I know, but it's just so similar. They're quite different people. Clary. Clary. Sure, I've called her Clary. But isn't that a cute name? My little Clary, I say. Good point, my little Clary.
Starting point is 00:34:00 The only one of the people whose names could be rhymed with bear. That's a rule. I have that written on the wall of my hype house. Don't just dress beautifully. This one's for you guys. dress smartly style is not about expensive clothes it's about presentation
Starting point is 00:34:20 where what fits your personality carries confidence and reflects self-respect long sleeve button down black shirt I was about to say where does that fit under this it's not too beautiful it's okay whenever I wear this jacket Alex says I look like I'm a Franklin the Turtle I think you look like a turtle
Starting point is 00:34:37 yeah it's too beautiful it's too beautiful it's like Cruella de Vil hitting the town Too close to the natural world. I have half black and half white hair, but I'm bald, so you can't tell. Listener, we're looking at a big, fluffy turtle shell. Jeremy wears like it ain't no thing. It's a green flannel jacket.
Starting point is 00:34:57 Trying to make a point of some kind. Number five. Replace self-doubt with a learning mindset. Never think, I can't do this. Instead, think, I can learn this. confidence grows when you trust your ability to improve i think that is true with some things and then there are other things you should know you can't do like if it's going to take you like 20 years to do that thing you know you probably shouldn't spend the time learning it unless
Starting point is 00:35:22 you really right there are some things you need to think i can't be doing this it's a yeah like sometimes i'll see like an extreme sport yeah on the go like paragliding or something and i'll think huh i could learn this but i think at what cost i watched a documentary recently about this guy uh who did wingsuit flying dark wizard style it was very good uh and i was reading about wingsuiting flying in the at the end on wikipedia and they're like yeah it's gotten better they've gotten the deaths down to one in 100 flights god damn it's too high it's way too high it used to be one in 20 or something like that fuck that dude no i don't like anything that much i said I said to my wife, I was like, it's 1 in 100.
Starting point is 00:36:06 She's like, oh, 1 in 100 wingsuit flyers die? I was like, no, 1 in 100 flights. They all die. Eventually, in a long enough timeline, they will all die. And they all die in like Wile E. Coyote's hitting the side of a cliff, flattening their whole body waves. There's no dignity to it. Every wingsuit flyer dies by thinking they're going to run into a tunnel,
Starting point is 00:36:30 but it turns out to be a painting. Right after a bird shows up and mocks your corpse. dark wizard though pretty good pretty good doc uh they basically dean potter is this like very famous rock climber and they just basically read his fucking diary on hbo for four hours god damn and you look at his ugly little drawings i know they're all drawings of like a naked guy and then like a naked woman with a gun and being like i'm making you do the dishes it's like crazy he was an artist that's what it's like sometimes it's very funny uh dark wizards by the way have a strong pursuit of knowledge we would agree that i if somebody ever have a quest for wisdom i don't
Starting point is 00:37:10 have a diary but if i ever did have one and i died and then people read it on hbo and were like he would not want me to do this i'd be very upset i think anyone with a podcast already if you just give them enough time will admit to their terrible secrets yes on air and then you won't need to read their diary just to fill time really it's and they'll do it in chinese voice sure most of the people will do it in chinese voice but that's neither here nor there number seven stop making excuses excuses weaken character take responsibility for your actions mistakes and growth real confidence begins with self-honesty while i do generally agree with this i have a very vivid memory of this bullshit internship i had in college where i showed up late and they
Starting point is 00:37:56 said why are you late and i was like oh the train didn't come and then the security guard and my boss yelled at me at the same time for like 10 minutes i'm like excuses take the e out of i'm late and they make you a you of your late and it was just like when i fucking got blasted about it for five minutes it's like why are you asking me why then i just am late if you don't want me to like make an excuse to just like i don't know throw something at me it is awkward when you have a job and like you just don't want to do it like i had this job where they like my boss had to sit me down was like you've been five minutes late every day for like six months and i had to be like i don't want i don't respect you guys i'm sorry but i don't want to be here it's really i think the issue i
Starting point is 00:38:40 was having was uh well i was gonna say it's that they weren't paying me but i think i would just be late to any enterprise yeah i'm late to everything i'm at least five minutes late to almost everything that's about right it's a certain lifestyle i told my therapist i got a new therapist and i was like yeah i'm probably gonna be about 10 minutes late to every session nice she's like okay that's good to know and it's like you're not mad it's your time yeah all right and then i've been consistently but is she letting you do 10 minutes at the end or is it like no no Part of your therapy is 10 minutes. Yeah, you're just paying for time that you're missing.
Starting point is 00:39:16 Yeah, I get why she doesn't care. Well, at the same time, though, but she wasn't like, let's unpack that. That wasn't something that came up? It was slightly unpacked, but it was mostly just like, you know. And it's usually like, yeah, I don't really want to go to therapy, but I know I have to. Right. Is this your Gen Z therapist? This is my Gen Z therapist.
Starting point is 00:39:36 Has she been saying that you're choogy? I was going to ask about if you're choogy. I do want to say that she said slay the other day. That's really hard for me to hear. I've been really trying to conquer my fear of going out more, and she said slay. And you're someone who says awesome sauce sometimes. That's slay.
Starting point is 00:39:56 So this is kind of a natural combination. D to D. Slay? What did we say? We're keeping him out of this. What happened to him? Is he doing stuff? He's still doing stuff.
Starting point is 00:40:10 He does clubs and shit. Does he? I looked him up on a different podcast a few years ago. He had made an Instagram post that morning that was, and I quote, look, this dog took a shit on the ground. You can't shit there. Tonight I'm at the Laughing Bone. That's evergreen, baby.
Starting point is 00:40:28 It made me so sad. Can we get Carlos Mencia on Quarators? No. We're adding more Carlos Mencia. Would that be a funny stunt to do? I would be an hour late to that. Yeah, because Claire's the one who says D to D, so if we have Carlos here, it'd be like, what is she going to do?
Starting point is 00:40:47 She'd be like, you stole that from me. You fucking stole that from me. No, it's different. That's a recurring problem for him. By the way, follow this space if you want to appreciate me. I did follow this space, and I do want to appreciate Michael Bob, who's probably an Indian person trying to sound American with the most generic names.
Starting point is 00:41:07 Oh, no, this is Michael Bob again. Michael Bob's fire. Michael Bob does We have one response from Blessings who says Outstanding Thank you Blessings And Charles Okoya Charles Okoya says
Starting point is 00:41:21 No truer words have ever been said Has ever been said His Quora post hits different for Blessings Blessings seems to always just say Outstanding Outstanding His bio is all caps Loyal, kind, and forgiving
Starting point is 00:41:36 A triumph He knows about hair loss and baldness. Oh, this is your account. I think that's Larry David, right? Yeah, that is a picture of Larry David. He's a popular bald man. Blessings is some interesting stuff to say. Outstanding.
Starting point is 00:41:52 He has three questions. I want to marry my Algerian boyfriend. You needed more words there. There's your problem there. Go off blessings. Then some questions about Islam. Do we want to read nine secrets women will never tell men or should we move on to questions?
Starting point is 00:42:07 Are we allowed to read it? I'm curious what Michael Bob has to say about this. And it's a picture of Maggie Gyllenhaal. Is that Maggie Gyllenhaal? No. I don't think so. I'm sorry. It's Michael Jackson.
Starting point is 00:42:16 Elizabeth Olsen. Oh, well, I get those two confused. Michael Jackson. Well, I'm just looking at the nose. It's Elizabeth Olsen, y'all. It is Elizabeth Olsen. Okay, sorry. Why are all these pictures like paparazzi-ed?
Starting point is 00:42:32 I don't know. Be less celebrities. I feel way better when I get white people mixed up than when it's any other race of people. And then I have to be like, how much is it face blindness, Alex? How much is it face blindness? But this is genuinely Maggie Olsen. No, Elizabeth Olsen. Elizabeth Olsen.
Starting point is 00:42:53 And these are, you know what, Claire told you the name and you were so proud of yourself for thinking about it that you forgot to hear what it was. Because I knew that one. These are, what was it, quests for knowledge? It's a quest for wisdom on the Seals of Wisdom. These are nine secrets that Elizabeth Olsen does not want to ever tell you. She doesn't want to tell men. Number one. She notices the small details.
Starting point is 00:43:18 Why don't you want me to know that? Your shoes, grooming, posture, scent, and even how you treat strangers. They all leave an impression. A Trajan often lives in the details. Okay, Claire, how often are you noticing scent? Probably a lot. 24-7. 24-7, she said.
Starting point is 00:43:33 I do think this is the kind of thing that a dumb guy would be like, I don't need to think about how I treat strangers. Or smell. Yeah, that is true. Guys love not knowing how they smell. I will say there have been many episodes of this podcast where we've finished and my wife has said, smelly gas this week. And I will not say who.
Starting point is 00:43:56 You can't put this out now. No. It could be all sorts of people. We've had hundreds of guests. Listener, they're all smelly. We've had probably over 100 guests. I had a whole year when I was growing up where my cat pissed in my room every day
Starting point is 00:44:11 and I just stopped being able to smell it. And I always smelled like cat piss. And I was like 12 or 13. I was not that young. I smelled like pee around town. Why did your parents fix this? They just didn't do it. They were too busy fucking fighting or whatever.
Starting point is 00:44:27 We had a lot of animals. How many? I think five at this juncture. Wow. Were they all cats? It's a lot of piss. We had two cats, and then one of them had five kittens. Okay.
Starting point is 00:44:41 And then we kept two of those. So that's two and four, and then we got a dog on top of that. And I think that just like this cat, they just like could not figure out why he was like defiling areas of the house. And then you're kind of an animal. You're sort of raised like an animal. Yeah, and I was a wild animal myself. They said, put him in the cage together. Right, let him smell like piss.
Starting point is 00:45:02 Who cares? He's a wolf. He knows about the sea. Let him smell like piss at school. Women will love it and note it in his scent. Curiosity about your past is real. Many women will quietly check your social media, old photos, or even your ex's profile. It's less about obsession and more about understanding who you are.
Starting point is 00:45:23 That's just drama. Do guys do that? Looking at an ex's profile? I don't really have an ex. I think if anything... Yeah, that's true. Oh, yeah. I'm asking the wrong guys.
Starting point is 00:45:35 We're both bad people to ask for this, but I do think that men in general like to pretend you don't have an ex. Yeah. Is the whole body count thing? Yes, I have a friend recently who was dating a girl and she was writing a memoir about herself,
Starting point is 00:45:50 so she was very obsessed with her own, I don't know, history. And apparently they broke up in part because she kept being like, you don't ask me enough about my exes. And he was like, I don't care about your exes. And she was like, you have to. What do you want me to ask?
Starting point is 00:46:05 Not to be annoying, I was on my friend's side, the boy in this scenario. Yeah, I'm on the boy's side for that. Another big win for the boy. She just kept being like, you're not asking me enough about my ex-boyfriends. And he was like, what do you want me to know about them? And she was like, you should be asking.
Starting point is 00:46:19 They're losers. They fell off the truck. they could be all famous guys she's like don't you want to know about i can't think of one famous guy it was quentin i just found out my husband's body count oh yeah is it higher or lower than you thought it's pretty high oh and well he was telling me that he does keep running he cut he He has a list. He's a list. He writes it down.
Starting point is 00:46:50 Okay, I like that. I like hearing that. Is it building up to a greater work? He thinks so. Is there something we can do with these names? We can make like a scarf out of it? We can get them all together. No, I think he's just sort of a,
Starting point is 00:47:05 he wants to get to like a nice round number or something. You know what? People say that, but I know a guy who, and without saying who it was, really made it his hobby to get laid as much as possible. It was me. And he hit 100 women in our 20s. Wow, and then he had sex with all of them?
Starting point is 00:47:25 In 20s, that's crazy. Well, anyway, upon reaching this level... All right, I forgot about that button. That was a good time to use it. But upon reaching 100, you really just realize it's kind of more gross than it is sexy, just because he was just... Yeah.
Starting point is 00:47:45 He was just plowing through the ranks there. That's tough. Claire, do you know your number? Was it higher or lower than Nick's? Do you know? Nick's was about three times higher than mine. Wow. Really?
Starting point is 00:47:55 Big number. That's a lot of people. And I have had, I guess I haven't had as much as I thought, but when I said it out loud, I was like, that feels like a lot. Well, have you just had longer term relationships than he has? Well, because that's the thing is like, if you have sex with one person once and then have to keep switching your number could be bigger even though you're having less sex yeah and in the periods that i was single
Starting point is 00:48:18 you're in monogamy town that's right that's right i did stand up recently and i made a joke about how my body count is one and somebody literally gasped they acted like i was like revealing a dark secret or something oh no well i'm sure the payoff was all worth it it just means you're very clean jeremy that's right the threat of disease is actually quite scary there's a lot more disease these days too hantavirus you're getting hantavirus from having sex probably i don't know yeah maybe if you do don't ask me ask my husband with the body count yeah that's true i will ask him i'll make it an objective of mine also back to this list of nine things women don't want men to know elizabeth olsen specifically
Starting point is 00:49:10 elizabeth olsen wonder number three sometimes she already knows the answer a woman may ask questions she already knows the answer to not to trap you but to observe your honesty confidence and behavior that sounds like a trap that is a trap that's a trap i think sometimes it is to trap it's the for the point of laying a mind trap yeah i do this to my wife we have sort of opposite gender roles where my wife is the stoner guy and i'm the manipulative woman yes and i i do trap her it's really funny to me it's not right let her go there's some more good stuff here number four comparisons happen Just like men compare women, women compare men, too, to exes, friends, public fidgers, or even fictional ideals.
Starting point is 00:50:06 Oh, man. That's a flub. Comparison is human nature, my dear. That's not really something women don't want me to know. Women do be comparing you to fictional characters. I bet that's true. Yes. Like Mr. Darcy or whatever.
Starting point is 00:50:21 I'm comparing both of you guys to Shrek. Oh, yeah. I'm comparing you guys to human Shrek. I'm comparing you guys to Donkey. Donkey. Handsome Squidward. Human Shrek is a handsome guy. They made him, they handsome Squidwarded his ass.
Starting point is 00:50:36 He's just got the square face. He was hot as a man. He was burly. Mm-hmm. And I feel like it's a look that's kind of tougher to pull off. They should have made Donkey human a little, for just one scene. Just for a second. Did they not?
Starting point is 00:50:49 Yeah. He's got a huge cock. It'd be weird if they made Donkey white. Yeah, it would be. This is some kind of commentary on something. What would that be? What would the commentary be? I don't know.
Starting point is 00:51:03 What is that saying? I don't like it, though. It's asking questions. Questions that I don't want answered. This is just a white guy who talks like Eddie Murphy. Who was once a donkey. Strange about it. Confidence matters more than perfection.
Starting point is 00:51:21 Many women are drawn to men who can lead with calm confidence while still respecting her independence and voice. Is that true? Yeah. Calm confidence? Sure. Okay, but compared to perfection? Women don't want you to know this.
Starting point is 00:51:33 Ain't no such thing as perfection in men. What if you were dating that guy from Watchmen who has the master plan? Ozymandias? The blue one? Yeah, Ozymandias. No, it's not the blue one. The other guy? The old guy?
Starting point is 00:51:51 He's a billionaire. He's got a big cat. A crime fighter. He's got a big cat. You don't need to know. He's very handsome. Pull up all the band-aids. I would say he's definitely more confident than perfect.
Starting point is 00:52:01 Yeah, well, he's not going to tell you the plan. He already did it. He already did his plan 20 minutes ago. Because he had a time machine. No, not because of a time machine. No, he had a time machine. The show is about a time machine. I'm not going to tell you how I'm going to fuck you.
Starting point is 00:52:19 I made you come 20 minutes ago. Jeremy. I'm Ozymandias. You're being crass. You're talking about hooking up with Ozzy. He's perfection. Mystery is attractive until it feels unsafe. That is true.
Starting point is 00:52:35 Being unpredictable can create excitement, but emotional security still matters. Mystery without trust quickly becomes anxiety. That's Drew's hell. What's a good example of unsafe mystery? Are you joking? No. Any sort of creepy guy who's going to attack you. Okay, sure.
Starting point is 00:52:54 It's like how women thought Ted Bundy was hot or whatever until he killed you. But he wasn't very mysterious. I feel like he was just a hot guy. Fair enough. I guess if you ask a guy, like, hey, where do you get all your money? He goes, don't worry about it. Right. That's kind of scary.
Starting point is 00:53:10 You could be human trafficking. But I am getting turned on. But I am turned on by the mystery. Wouldn't you like to know, little bird? The answer is always human trafficking. If they have a crazy hat, it's a human trafficking. Alex is thinking of mystery. Mystery.
Starting point is 00:53:29 There's a type of hat. Yeah, like the pickup artist mystery. Mystery, yeah. He's got a big hat, so he's peacocking. Number seven, strength isn't just physical. Masculine energy often means decisiveness, emotional stability, discipline, purpose, and reliability, not dominance or aggression. mental strength number eight boundaries create respect kind words are nice but self-respect standards and clear boundaries usually build stronger attraction over time
Starting point is 00:53:59 nine emotional control is different from emotional suppression most women appreciate emotional openness but they're often attracted to men who can handle emotions with maturity calmness and self-control follow this space if you want to appreciate me yeah i want to appreciate you i I want to appreciate you. Whoa, who's this guy? That's John Baskowitz. Interested, parentheses, teacher. Interested in copy trading?
Starting point is 00:54:24 Okay, no mystery here. I know what he does. Yeah, there you go. But he's kind of a mysterious figure that makes you want to ask more because he's safe. Is this a Japanese tattoo, Alex? It means village, I believe. Oh.
Starting point is 00:54:37 Sure. You didn't think I would know, did you? I was asking because I literally asked you. Well, I did. Okay, let's get off of this space Because now it seems like it's mostly to do with whatever. Zendaya. I would say it's been about an hour.
Starting point is 00:54:51 How to talk with various types of people. Types of people. Picture of Zendaya. That's got a one question. 13 unseen signs of a rare mind. Whoa, I kind of like that. Okay, if it's a sign of a rare mind, we could read that one. 13 signs of a rare mind.
Starting point is 00:55:09 It rhymes, too. This is a picture of a woman smiling coyly at like a big dinner, like a gala dinner. Who is this? This is Hailey Bieber. Okay, great. This is Justin Bieber's wife and Alec Baldwin's daughter. Is that right? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:55:26 She's the one I think he called a pig. Right. Did we find out who was abusing who in this marriage? Was someone abusing someone? Are they breaking up? I saw a video of them getting out of a car where they were being very mean to each other or whatever. But there's always a public-facing persona to everything, so you can't tell what's real. I'd have to imagine being married to either Justin Bieber or Hailey Bieber sounds like a fucking nightmare.
Starting point is 00:55:53 I don't know, but they're both so beautiful. Have you considered that? And also probably really good at dancing. Oh, yeah. That's great. If you're married to Justin Bieber and you're like, I'm having a bad day. And he just goes like. Yeah, he probably does like a fucking spin or whatever.
Starting point is 00:56:09 And you're like, you know what? I do feel better. I mean, how sad could you be while he does a damn flip on the floor? He's so mysterious. There are women who want a dancing husband. He's making too much eye contact, though. Is Nick dancing a lot, Claire? He actually is.
Starting point is 00:56:24 Nice. That's why his body counts so high. I know, dude. For real. It's kind of like a bird's mating display. What's your body count, Alex? It's really high. It's crazy high.
Starting point is 00:56:38 I can't even talk about it because the number is so big. Three or four? Probably a million. I said mine. Uno. A million million. Just going to keep getting bigger. 13 unseen sides of a rare mind.
Starting point is 00:56:59 Number one, they connect dots others don't see. They notice patterns across conversations, behavior, and experiences. What seems random to others feels connected to them. I'm sorry, this is an unseen mind? Yeah, dog. Okay, just checking. No, it's a different kind of mind, isn't it? A rare mind.
Starting point is 00:57:17 Unseen sign of a rare mind. I'm sorry, it's just a giant picture of Haley Bieber obscures the title, so I have to really lock it in. She really forgets, really wipes your memory when you scroll down. She takes my breath away. Well, she also controls emotions, not suppress them. Okay. It's not about being cold.
Starting point is 00:57:35 It's about responding with awareness instead of reacting impulsively. It's a thin line there, though, because, you know, a rare mind, I feel like it's very common to suppress your emotions. I got to be honest, Alex. I think you were spot on. These are all describing Ozymandias from the book Watchmen. Well, let's keep reading. Number three, they kill the comedian. No, that's not what it says.
Starting point is 00:58:00 They get in their time machine. There is no time machine. It's the one thing not in the plot of Watchmen. There's a blue guy who bends the world to his whims. There's no time machine. And he also fights in the Vietnam War. He's got a big penis, too. He does have a big penis.
Starting point is 00:58:18 It's as big as you want it to be. Wow. He doesn't really live in the physical plane. No, he lives on Mars. And then he's always pleasuring women with nine of himself, and they go, it's too many. Yeah, because he's also working while doing it. Yeah, and he's working, and they're like,
Starting point is 00:58:32 why don't you focus on me instead of, you know. Women hate when they're dating God, and God is doing multiple things at once. Stop doing Google Sheets, God. Come DP me. He's making expressions while Eiffel Towering you with himself. Wouldn't it be pretty cool to Eiffel Tower by yourself? Yeah, dude.
Starting point is 00:58:53 to be French as hell. There's just no one I trust enough to be the other tower. Other than yourself. Other than my clone. Who would you trust to be the other tower? Only himself. Number three,
Starting point is 00:59:08 you only trust yourself to fuck your wife. I guess if I could also do it with Dr. Manhattan, I trust him a lot. Well, yeah, he's blue. He saved America. He will give you cancer, though. That's a big plot point that everyone he fucks gets cancer. Bummer.
Starting point is 00:59:25 Why is he fucking anyone? What do you mean? He's like not a guy. Why is he fucking? He's blue. He's made of lightning. Stop fucking. He's got to get his rocks off.
Starting point is 00:59:37 You don't. You live on the moon or whatever. Dr. Manhattan being like, these people mean nothing to me. All time is one. Who's looking to bust? Who's swiping? I see you're swiping in the front row. Who wants to get down on this cock?
Starting point is 00:59:55 How do you two know each other? You're sisters? Oh, my God. Oh, it's a date? Oh, that's nasty. We saw you from across the bar, me and myself. Shut up. We're going to Eiffel Tower.
Starting point is 01:00:09 I've looked into the future. I will be Eiffel Towering you. What do I do for work? Let's say I'm in the Eiffel Towering business. It's 1965. I'm in the nuclear reactor. It's today. I'm Eiffel Towering you.
Starting point is 01:00:23 It's later tonight. We're Eiffel Towering. It's 20 minutes from now. You've come. This is so annoying. Okay, number three. Studio audience. Number three, a rare mind.
Starting point is 01:00:42 They observe what others ignore. Like Dr. Manhattan does. He has a rare mind. he's blue, he's made of lightning. These days they'd call him Dr. Brooklyn because Manhattan's too expensive. Oh, come on. He's kind of an alternative hero.
Starting point is 01:00:58 Don't be a DDD. D, D, D. Number four, they turn pain into power. Woo! I don't want to be around a rare mind if they turn pain into power. It's not scary. Instead of staying stuck in what hurt them,
Starting point is 01:01:14 they extract lessons and grow stronger. But they can't turn my pain into power, can they? because they're like bazooka joe oh yeah why did you just say that they use their disabilities uh to help people chew gum number five they speak less but with impact that's come up a lot michael bob bazooka joe i think now he's a senator right isn't that uh what dan crenshaw's nickname was as a boy it was bazooka joe he's dan crenshaw i guess he's confusing because his name is dan They called him Joe. I don't know what I'm doing anymore.
Starting point is 01:01:50 I should really speak less, but with impact. I need to start thinking, does this add value? Number six, they stay curious without becoming arrogant. So true. Are curious people often arrogant? Yeah. I don't know what that means. What does that mean?
Starting point is 01:02:08 Shut up, arrogant asshole. Stay curious. I guess you want to know why zebras have stripes. You're a real jerk. You're such a narcissist the way you want to know which political party is the donkey and which is the elephant. I'm just wondering, okay? You're arrogant, Claire. You're too high on your donkey horse.
Starting point is 01:02:30 She's just asking questions. They always know the Bill Maher style. I just want to know what everyone believes. I think they should change animals. Yeah, I think they should swap. In four years, they should have to vote over new animals. Oh, just get like a new one in general? They don't make any sense.
Starting point is 01:02:48 This is a democracy, people. We should be switching the animals. It's the one thing we have any power over. Let's choose the animals, please. Animal vote. Animal vote. It can't be the eagle every time. Mm-mm.
Starting point is 01:03:01 Everyone always wants, apparently in like a revolutionary France, when Napoleon was picking his animal, there's a big back and forth on if they should pick the elephant because they wanted to pick the eagle, but everyone picks the eagle. Right. What did he pick in the end? I think he picked the eagle. What a pussy.
Starting point is 01:03:19 He should have gone with the elephant. That's literally ours. It's ours. It's Nazi Germany's. It's like a million different people. The big two. Yeah, they're pretty much the same place. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:03:28 And it's all eagle-based. It is kind of eagle-based. And if you see an eagle, they're not like that. They're cool. Eagles are pretty sick, actually. I mean, as long as you're not like a hare 200 yards below them. It was almost the turkey in the U.S. They wanted to do the turkey at first.
Starting point is 01:03:43 I would have loved the alternate universe where the turkey country. I think it's a better world. Right. It's less violent. The Iraq war doesn't happen. Turkeys are actually kind of crazy aggressive, though. If you've ever been around a domesticated turkey. Always gobbling.
Starting point is 01:03:58 They rove around the town where I grew up, and they would chase you getting off the bus. What? Yeah, turkeys. Turkeys would chase you home? They're scary. They're like swans. I feel like there's always a local news story about the turkeys are more violent this year or something. So Thanksgiving is really us getting one back.
Starting point is 01:04:17 Take the power back. Birds are just bad in general. Birds are sort of evil animals. In general, just stay away from birds. It would be better if you were the elephant. Yeah. Speak less. Number seven, they adapt without losing themselves.
Starting point is 01:04:28 This is rare-minded people. Need I remind you? Every list on here is just like, you got to talk less. Haley Bieber barely ever talks. and she drinks all night long. She's adaptable. Number eight, they choose solitude over noise. Vince, when?
Starting point is 01:04:45 They want you to be quiet. They're trying to quiet us. Why are you trying to quiet me? They don't want to hashtag listen to Claire's. Their mind is rare. I guess rare could be bad. Yeah, you can be bad in rare. The guitar is on the right side of their brain.
Starting point is 01:05:00 Whoa. That's how it is normally. I mean, the guard's just sitting on the left side. Car is right. Guitar is left for them. Their brain is rare. They analyze the guitar like it's a car. They analyze the guitar, but the car is their art.
Starting point is 01:05:16 The car is their guitar. Maybe Jason Statham has the car in the right side of his brain. Yeah, he's like the transporter. Yeah. Yeah, we all get what I'm saying. I understood that. Number nine, they think deeply, live simply. Don't need to know what that means.
Starting point is 01:05:29 Number 10, they balance logic with empathy. that's a good thing to do oh there's so many 11 they're aware of their own flaws 12 they feel deeply but choose wisely very similar to the other one number 13 they read energy not just follow the space if you want to appreciate me let's do a listener question sure read energy not just words i do think is a rare mind yeah and you can see that in hayley bieber should we leave a comment uh yes um a triumph are you describing ozymandias from you spelled it wrong but that's fine how do i spell it i think it's ias it doesn't matter really yeah i'm pretty sure yeah even i know that it's you bloody yeah you're right it is fuck i'm killing myself that's a damn
Starting point is 01:06:16 shame well i can't be curious because that's arrogant i hope we've all learned a lot today Okay, let's take a moment and be humble at listening to our curious minds who write in to our email, Quarators at gmail.com, with a listener question. This is our listener segment, Is That Okay? Is that okay? This one says, here's a question I have from an IRL situation where I think the doctor at the walk-in was a Quora user. Oh, interesting. I used to get repeated staph infections, and one time I was at the doctor.
Starting point is 01:06:50 he asked me if I was Jewish and I told him no. And he asked, are you Polish? And yes, I am. So he tells me this theory about how Polish people and Jewish people are essentially immune to the plague. And somehow this gene also makes us very susceptible to staph, which I thought was bullshit, but whatever. Years later, my friend who happens to be Jewish keeps getting staph infections. And he asked me, why do you and me in particular, Why are we risking staph infections? Is that okay? I believe this is 100%.
Starting point is 01:07:23 This is the Jewish-Polish staph vulnerability. It would be really funny, though, if your doctor was just like, are you Polish? And you go, yeah. And they just say a Polish joke. It's like, well, guess what? This is how you would tie your shoes, asshole. They put one leg up and tie the other one.
Starting point is 01:07:38 Can you replace the light bulb for me? Oh, you can't because of your debilitating infection? That's too bad. If I'm a doctor, I'm going to say a lot of things I read online. I got a big fucking degree on the wall and you don't. Yeah, I can say any ethnicity and disease and you'll believe me. Sometimes they go together. That's true.
Starting point is 01:08:01 They do. You can get the special unlock race diseases. It is funny being like in our 30s, you meet people who are doctors who are your age and you're like, you're just some fucking guy. Some piece of shit. Yeah. I was talking to a doctor recently at a party and he kept going on about like Epstein conspiracy theories. And I was like, you give people medicine. Right, right.
Starting point is 01:08:23 Well, somebody has to. Someone's got to do it. We're actually an underserved community in terms of doctors because people aren't going to school enough. Yeah, that's true. That's neither here nor there. The point is you got to listen to their race theory. Let them measure your skull. Let them cook a little bit.
Starting point is 01:08:39 The next time you have a staph infection. Maybe what you should do is a 23andMe and find out if you're actually Polish. Maybe you'll find out you're not really Polish. You'll find out you're Jewish instead. And then you'll have to call up that doctor and be like, you're not going to believe it. He'll be like, I do, actually. And generally, you're just going to be talking more to this guy.
Starting point is 01:08:54 He's got some theories. Yeah, write these down. D to D. D to D. What causes a staph infection? What is a staph infection? It has to do with what country you're from in Europe. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:09:07 As management, I always have a staph infection. I don't know, man. It's a staph infection, right? Some people try to salt my work. S-T-A-P-H. Staphylaxis of bacteria. That's from bacteria, yeah. Ooh, skin.
Starting point is 01:09:24 You get it from skin to skin. You get it from the waters of Polish rivers. I'm looking up Polish. Skin to skin. So our Polish people... I don't think we're going to have time to get to the bottom of this one. I'll be honest with you. ...getting to have a sort of higher body count than...
Starting point is 01:09:37 I can tell you this. I put in staff infection Polish and nothing's coming up. Dude, staff infection Polish origins. No, I think if it was legit, they would tell me. It would be like, if it was a real thing, immediately it would be like, you don't have to worry about that if you're Polish. You're just probably not smart. I'm seeing nail polish before Polish. That's because we're on Google, which sucks now.
Starting point is 01:10:00 Nail Polish. That's so crazy. That's a good point. Thank you for writing it. Thank you so much. Stop getting infected. That's been the show. What fun we've had today.
Starting point is 01:10:19 Seeking wisdom. Back on the saddle. And we're back on the saddle, too, and we're loving it. Thank you so much for supporting our show by listening to it through your earphones while you do the laundry or you're going to work. I'm sure it's going to be a good day at work. Do you want to hear more of it, even more?
Starting point is 01:10:35 Well, guess what? For $5 a month, you can go to patreon.com slash Quarriors, and there's even more episodes, and they're honestly a lot like this one, where there's no guests, and we're kind of just talking about Watchmen for 20 minutes. We're chopping it up. We're showing Claire different anime characters she has not seen. Yes.
Starting point is 01:10:50 We're making her rank all the Street Fighter characters. Sort of against her will. Kind of just as an experiment on Claire. No, I'm staying curious about anime characters. You're arrogant. Because the more I know, the more rare my mind becomes. You're arrogant and it's wrong. That's right.
Starting point is 01:11:06 But anyway, you gotta get back there. It is just $5 a month. You got to get back there. You got to get back there. You got to get back there. Bye-bye. We'll see you later, lover. Goodbye, lover.
