Starting point is 00:00:00 that's right quaraders again they said it couldn't be done we just keep doing it they said it was over they said last week was your best one yet and you've got nothing else to give there's nothing else on quora.com and they were wrong they were dead wrong and welcome to the show and you're not wrong you're great i'm alex and this is jeremy say hi jeremy how's it going out of the camera hello on youtube.com uh we've got a hell of a core raiders episode for you the podcast where we ask question what is quora yeah and we try to answer it yeah and so far week 27 it's all like that we do not know we do not know we've not gotten any closer we've gotten further from the answer more vague and mysterious like a like a landmass moving away
Starting point is 00:01:05 from a ship but this is going to be the week we get it because we have a very special guest coming to us all the way from across the sea our long lost love she's here she's ready to rock your socked off we have the one and only abigail thorn say hello hello hello nice to be here thank you for coming on abigail have you been on quora no never the only thing i know about quora is that it launched jordan peterson's career wait really yeah that's how he started out was answering people's questions that fucking makes so much sense more sense than anything i've heard in my entire life website is jordan peterson's he got so much like quora karma or whatever it is You should write this up into a book
Starting point is 00:01:53 And he was like okay he did Quorma It's pronounced Quorma Vegan mince yeah But yeah that's how he started It launched his whole career Everyone on this website talks like Jordan Peterson in a way that has
Starting point is 00:02:12 Been difficult to connect until now Yeah that really does connect a lot of doctors Now that we know they're all Canadian professors I assumed that that's why you started this podcast, because you were also trying to launch a career. Yeah. That's the big move for us. We both want to be the next Jordan Peterson, but there can be
Starting point is 00:02:28 only one, and so it drives the tension of the show. We both have two deep voices to be Jordan Peterson. The high T levels. I feel like Alex has the regulation amount of Muppet-ness to be. Thank you! Thank you
Starting point is 00:02:44 for saying so. I think you're some years off, because you kind of have to be the sort of older father figure. Right. Well, I'm somewhat bred in the classic patriarchy in a way. I'm like the Muppet that comes on screen and everyone stops talking because they revere him. You also host an anime podcast, which I feel like puts you in a prime position to give people advice about their room or whatever. That's right, it does.
Starting point is 00:03:07 There's probably young men. I look at people's rooms and I go, where is your Goku pillow? Where are your totems of strength? the weakness is coming from the bare bones of the establishment sure if you don't have the dragon balls you're too chaotic who is this bikini clad woman on the wall that's not gonna help you in your day-to-day that should be bulma that should be a sexual bulma this is a great idea i'm very into it the idea that you become the next jordan peterson yes but for goku the goku jordan peterson i'm writing it down my notebook goku jordan peterson i'll read it
Starting point is 00:03:49 tomorrow and i'll be like i have no idea what this fucking means uh we're very distracted already but um abby on the show what we do is we've uh curated the quaras and we read you the quaras that's really it sorry you'll have to edit that out oh that's okay i didn't even notice something happened abby we're gonna read you chorus let's do it great i think that's great okay so we do we attempt to answer them for the for the submit or are we just contemplating the mysteries um sometimes they're hard to answer just because they're they're like an unknowable question but sometimes yeah we try to answer yeah and actually we have one recurring segment we do oh right i don't know if this has ever been done before in the show but every week we ask a quora
Starting point is 00:04:36 at the end to kind of round out what we've learned, and then we check the answers before we go to the other questions. Is a singular quorum a quorum? Yes. It can be. Thank you for asking. It's a chorus.
Starting point is 00:04:52 The Greek chorus. The problem with the podcast is that Alex and I are both pretty dumb. That's not true. I've been considered the Goku Jordan Peterson of many fields. it's not just like jordan peterson but like jacked that's right it's uh all of the above it's uh there's no wrong answers to what a goku jordan peterson is but uh well let's get into it this
Starting point is 00:05:16 is our question we asked at the end of last week jeremy yeah this was um what would happen if one million ghosts were on the moon and we got a bunch of answers for this one really yeah because normally i would say we live we live in the shadows we live in obscurity um people people they to pick apart our answers you know we'll get a few answers and sometimes people on the show write in and again reminder if you are listening to the show if you must answer one of our quoras you must use the words scrambled eggs that's right that's the code yeah anyone who writes in scrambled eggs we'll know you're just some fuck anyway who listens to our podcast every week and wants to participate in it right well parentheses reverent
Starting point is 00:06:05 respectful uh but uh we got some great answers on this one so a million ghosts on the moon can you imagine that that's probably far more than they're all well there aren't any people up there So it'd be strange for there to be ghosts. Yeah. As far as I know. Has anyone died in space close enough to the moon that they're... I mean, I assume that when you come back as a ghost, you spawn at kind of the nearest...
Starting point is 00:06:30 Yeah. The nearest spawn point. ...location. So has anyone died close enough to the moon that they spawned on the moon? When did Laika die? Do we have the numbers on that? The dog? But even then, that would have been in orbit of Earth.
Starting point is 00:06:41 So that's not very close to the moon. It's closer than I get. It is, but still, consider the distance to the moon. I reckon you've got to be at least halfway there. Right. Yeah, I think that makes sense. I think she's up there. Anyway, this is a million ghosts.
Starting point is 00:06:56 What are our answers, Jeremy? Okay. Steve Baker says, the surface area of the moon is 14 million square miles. So, with one ghost per 14 square miles, I doubt they'd give you too many problems. Plus, ghosts don't exist. Shut the fuck up, Steve Baker. I don't want to hear that. I do like your fact about how big the moon is, though.
Starting point is 00:07:16 That's fascinating. Let's see the next one. One person says, one could surmise that such ghosts are best described as Lunartics. And then put a screenshot of the definition of Lunar. I don't like that at all. I think Lunatic already comes from the word Lunar. Lunatic is already from the moon. Yeah, that's just not funny.
Starting point is 00:07:34 You know what? Downvote it. Give them a down quora. You have zero down quoras now. I hope less people see that because of how you made me feel. You're never going to sell a best-selling book out of answers like that. You'll never help. lost young men okay um yeah uh sorry i'm just reading what she does for a living jeremy loves
Starting point is 00:07:55 to own people on quora to find out where they work and live they post their jobs all of them they're like i'm from this city yeah i'm really big on quora i'm really popular on weird quora um this guy's from bristol it says uh paul yeah paul is from bristol all right and he's a semiconductor of thermal analysis and he seems to really like us he says wow what an amazing great wonderfully intelligent uh question and then the clapping emoji so you know he means it if you can pose such a profound question in your drunken state then what must you be capable of when you're sober damn he owned us paul what how many reminds me it reminds me of that jenny nicholson tweet where she says you know how you get into an argument with a man online and he starts writing as if
Starting point is 00:08:41 he's sending you letters from the civil war using really elaborate language and then she like left it a bit and then said like the replies to this are like really confirming yeah we really upset paul i guess i don't know what his goddamn problem is i saw one recently also that said like if you get into an argument someone on twitter eventually they start talking to you like sephiroth oh yeah that also tracks sephiroth has a way with words um rob spencer that i feel like this may be person i know let's read the answer this is a listener it depends on if they're uh they were ghosts native to earth or moon ghosts while our local specters float due to high buoyancy comparative to earth's gravitational pull the same ghosts in the moon's atmosphere would turn
Starting point is 00:09:24 them into essentially the consistency of ectoplasmic scrambled eggs so that is scrambled eggs is the word scrambled eggs that's the code word although that was also a thoughtful answer and we appreciate getting them yes yeah well done yes and this is the last one it would be a It would be a sick prequel starring Ice Cube to the 2001 Ghosts of Mars. We colonize the moon and start mining it, and all the people that used to live on the moon possess the colonists. Then Ice Cube has to go in and start killing all the possessed colonists. It would be awesome.
Starting point is 00:09:53 I imagine all the colonists would only be able to eat scrambled eggs for some reason. See, I don't think that would be awesome, but the movie sounds good. Yeah, I'd watch it. I'm interested in now seeing the 2001 Hate Ghosts of Mars, so thank you for writing me for that. Yeah, I'd also love to see it. i know what i'm doing after this so that was all the answers we got and the two that weren't mean to us were just our listeners the two that weren't like fuck you for asking this i don't mind if
Starting point is 00:10:20 they're mean as long as they're engaging with our content baby do people get upset that you're not taking the very serious intellectual website quora seriously uh i think so 50 50 quora is a place for like intellectuals to show up and wonder what would happen if you swam in all your clothes yeah and also to wonder what would happen if a teenager shot you with a gun a lot of the time and if you would kill them first it would take me 16 seconds to grab the gun from the teenager's hand abby recap of the show so far it's all cops it's just off-duty cops a lot of perverts interesting yeah it's actually kind of both sides of the spectrum here whereas cops and then sexual criminals well i mean yeah i don't know if that's really two sides of a spectrum
Starting point is 00:11:06 that might just be one as far as the law is concerned jeremy there are officers and there are perps now i believe we simply must move on to the rest of the show we have a thrilling program for you today you're gonna love all of our wonderful quorums all right uh what segment is this this is this is parenting our parent segment let me get that up that's enough that's That's enough. That's our classic parenting segment. Stinger. Stinger.
Starting point is 00:11:37 For querenting. Now, Abigail, you're not a parent yourself. No, actually, it's illegal for me to become a mother in this country. Well, I bet you have a lot of opinions on how you would kind of strategize around a pup in such a fashion that you're ready to debate on an online forum. Is that correct? i mean yeah i've thought about it yeah okay well this is kind of a perfect question for you we picked this one out yeah um i broke my son's youtube play button that he had earned for
Starting point is 00:12:13 getting 1 million subscribers because i want him to get a real job he is upset and will no longer talk to me what should i do sorry i just realized i just want to kind of go back for the listeners who may not already know me the reason it's illegal for me to become a mother in my home country is because i'm transgender not because i've done any sort of like horrible didn't know that one sorry just i killed a kid yeah it's like a whole thing but yeah the reason is that does not allow transgender people to become parents in that correct is there another rule in england where it's like if you rob a bank you can't become a mother is that like a separate no but i thought people have been like what do
Starting point is 00:12:52 you like commit a crime like you're not allowed within 50 feet of a school like what's the deal here yeah abby is in isis so she cannot become a mother legally yes it's a shame because it would bring fodder to the caliphate anyway continue i just work in the isis accounts department anyway hit me with a question again um i broke my son's youtube play button that he earned for getting 1 million subscribers because i want him to get a real job he is upset and will no longer talk to me what should i do i think that the one if he's got 1 million subs that is a real job i'm sorry but this core or poster needs to understand that like those those things aren't easy to get like i don't know i'll get mine okay yeah you get yours i do feel like it's only a
Starting point is 00:13:38 job if you have the button because the button is proof we just got mailed our 1000 button that's right and that's i mean that's all the wall we actually have to pay for shipping on that It's really unfortunate the way that turned out. There it is. These things aren't easy to acquire. They don't look easy to break. It's pretty solid. Yeah, I got my chainsaw out and had that button.
Starting point is 00:14:10 I don't think it's real gold. I think it's brass. Gold is soft. Softer than brass. I don't know. Take a bite. Bite it. No, I wouldn't damage my teeth.
Starting point is 00:14:23 All right, fair enough. These things take a long time and a lot of work to acquire. So I'm curious to hear how the mother broke it and also why. Because you've really got to put the hours in to get something like this. And also, well, actually, I was going to say, if you've got one of these, you're probably making decent enough money that it counts as a job. But that's not necessarily true.
Starting point is 00:14:43 Is that real? For real? I feel like you'd do okay. Well, so the money that I get through advertising is negligible. I believe it. I pay for my show through crowdfunding on Patreon. So it's possible that the son has a million subscribers on YouTube and genuinely isn't making enough money to kind of live on this.
Starting point is 00:15:00 So it's very possible, depending on what kind of content it is. Did she say who? Or are there any clues as to who her son is? Well, I'll have to read into it. I mean, there is also a chance that they were making most of the money renting out the play button. And then you wouldn't be. That would stop your income entirely there.
Starting point is 00:15:14 So that would be a strategic fault. The problem with Quora is that we can't see the question person. like they don't add anything and a lot of the time message in a bottle and this is very important a lot of the times they are fake people and fake questions that did not happen so uh i i i'm willing to believe this you have to treat everyone like it is real because in a way you are an officer of quora.com that's what we kind of are yeah it's just that it's like a name of the person Can you ask the question? Not that I could find.
Starting point is 00:15:47 Maybe if I go to their Mrs. Chalberg or something. Let me look at the question log. Mrs. Beast. It's from Mrs. Beast. I do know Mr.
Starting point is 00:15:58 Beast's mom kicked him out of the house for dropping out of college. Really? Yes. I did an episode on Mr. Beast on Poddam like two weeks ago. Oh. I feel like you were asking me three weeks ago all of these questions about Mr. Beast.
Starting point is 00:16:12 Do you now feel like an expert on Mr. Beast? listen it may have been three weeks ago but i'm not on trial here you know who is on trial apparently he's lovely okay i found the question but my agent is kind of semi-friends with him apparently he's a nice guy he's got a smile different um jeremy let's get let's read the answers to the question hold on no no no this is important we found the person his name is andre and um all of the questions are like i'm 23 and need to get a job my 20 these are clearly fake right like my son is 23 who graduated from college but refuses to get a real job he
Starting point is 00:16:50 stays home creating youtube videos and is making twenty thousand dollars a month with over a million subscribers would well he helps with the bills i want him to quit youtube how do i start that then he says i'm 23 this is okay this is a youtuber who's posted this for content oh they wouldn't oh that's what is the reward for getting that on quora though like dude how does that drive traffic to your youtube oh no no no so what they're doing is they've posted all these questions on quora and then they will make a video out of people's answers they're doing what you're doing it's the same kind of i don't like that content out of quora but they're doing it on video and then the one question that is different in the answer history is do you agree or like
Starting point is 00:17:29 what hitler did to the jews exactly this is them posting shock job content this is the content crazy this is like when two undercover officers both try and do a sting on each other i don't want to see that i have a quota i need to hit a quora quota all right i want to see the answer to the question please well now it says something went wrong um that is really weird we should do that we should come up with our own questions this is you like both trying to bust each other like selling selling drugs he's gonna he's gonna make a video about our moon question okay um people are just mad they're like i'm not entirely sure a million subscribers that's insane that's a million people that have decided your son is worth listening to or watching if he isn't
Starting point is 00:18:17 already making money which he probably is but if not then he could almost definitely start making it by the time you hit around 50 000 subscribers the offers to monetize actually start finding you not the other way around oh i don't think that's true at all i know a lot of people the subscribers find you did he say he was paying he was getting paid twenty thousand dollars a month that wasn't a different question that was a different one oh he must have like merch or something because i'm like what the fuck is your cpm if you're getting that kind of stuff on advertising alone like you've got to have other revenue streams they're getting paid and they're getting laid great money like um people are mostly just yelling at this fictional
Starting point is 00:18:53 parent well i don't think it's right what they did to the youtube play button which we now have decided is made out of brass and probably really hard to break scott debo says here's a thought stop asking these dumb questions and instead do something with your wife ah damn got him that's brutal and then another picture of elon musk how many pictures of elon musk are on this website i think most of the website is pictures of you on all right let's move to that we got a bunch of good questions let's move to the next one okay this is our next uh parenting question it's um let me open it up this is on guide to parenting.quora.com should i 47 female poison my son i've been fed up with his incredibly disrespectful behavior for years i don't want
Starting point is 00:19:33 to kill him but i've had it up to here this behavior do laxatives work i think it's time to teach him a fatal lesson do you agree up vote for agree i'm gonna up vote for poison my son you can only down vote why she's talking about laxatives right yeah yes well it says i mean let's read the last sentence i think it's time to teach him a fatal lesson if he's dead he can't live that's kind of easy i've i've handed up to here with him and he's gonna die shitting well she says she says i don't want to kill him but i do think it's time to teach him a fatal lesson i think perhaps she's just confused about the meaning of the word it's very possible well this guy's probably done i don't think that you should give laxatives to your
Starting point is 00:20:19 i mean it's more of a prank and a poisoning um but even then that's like that's gonna undermine the trust between you and your son it certainly will you shouldn't prank your kid don't be doing pranks on your kids because like he's not going to trust you after that like you know he's not going to believe that you've got his best interests at heart like anything that you feed him in future if you cook a meal for him he's going to like be suspicious of it he may try and prank you back as well oh um and then you're in like a prank war with your own child which is great content but yeah healthy really nobody wants that i mean you don't want to get to the point where they're you're opening Christmas presents under the tree on a December 25th and your
Starting point is 00:20:58 son gets to his big box and he goes, if I open this, is it more laxatives that are going to make me share so much? I die. Cause I'm not going to open it if that's the case. So no, I feel like, you know,
Starting point is 00:21:10 the more traditional style of just like talking to people about talking to children about their problems. Yeah. Probably the way to better than poisoning. The way the question is worded too is like, should I poison my son? No information about him. It's time.
Starting point is 00:21:21 He gets poisoned. yeah that's true there's no like this is what he's done these are the lines he's crossed this is why i've selected this particular method yeah i was thinking to myself as i was answering that i was like oh damn you know it's a shame i'm not allowed to be a mother because i'd be really good at it but in fairness the bar is quite low well i would never poison my children do not poison your child do not do not break their million listener plaque and i think you're in the top 90 80%. I feel like my parents have probably poisoned me by accident before.
Starting point is 00:21:53 I'm sure it's happened. You're always telling me about your plaques that they're always breaking. Okay, let's see the answers here. There's two answers. I know there's going to be a lot of negativity here, but let's see if anybody is like, yes. One guy says, no, don't live the rest of your life in prison because of a one-hour rage. Tick him out of your house no matter how old he is. and if refused to do so get a restraining order against him okay that's alpha i do approve of that
Starting point is 00:22:23 it could be a child get restraining order against your own child as an act of punishment no matter what age they are yeah i think generally you should try and avoid using the stage to punish your children it's quite a sort of forceful and blunt instrument yeah i but okay so this is a good question maybe this is our quarter for the end of the podcast would you rather poison your child with laxatives or have them arrested if you've had enough to hear with them i guess you're calling child protective services to protect you from your child i think a good question is have you ever used the police to punish your children because i bet there'd be some proper psycho responses yeah that's probably true you know and based on some other questions
Starting point is 00:23:02 we're going to get into i think that is correct uh what's the other one say um amari says if he lives with you and is over 18 kick his ass out make him figure out life for himself if he if he is under 18 go to therapy or sit down with him explain what your expectations are of him while he's under your roof in a loving and caring way that's like such a different either kick him out of your life or fix your relationship yeah that's such a like the second it turns 18 second the child turns 18 out yeah he's dead to you if he's 18 be 17 take him to therapy explain to him what you need from him if he's 19 it may be time for a fatal lesson that's pretty much all the answers here okay so there's a diversity of responses yeah don't poison your kid i think don't give
Starting point is 00:23:55 people laxatives in general people think it's like a fun prank yeah it can really fuck someone up if you're listening at home do not give your child laxatives yeah core raiders is against that all the parents listening to this we influence so many mothers yeah it's you influence the dvz kids but i'm the mothers are looking to be yeah it's true i'm kind of there's like a mom at a supermarket somewhere who was like picking up the laxatives jeremy says no they're in the fatal aisle gonna sit down and talk to my child wait you see it turns 18 tomorrow nah call the police i'm getting my garden okay well this next segment yes oh boy it is perfect uh this is uh we don't do this one every time but we thought you know we have a special guest from the uk we are going to do
Starting point is 00:24:43 a special united kingdom segment that we are temporarily calling god save the quarine here on god save the quarine what if the what if the queen did stuff yes uk questions hey look at all these people with trumpets that's enough of that okay uh all right so uh we wanted to keep these kind of relatable and also informative because this is uh filed under comedy slash education on itunes so our first question is and maybe i don't know if you personally had any experience with this but just just worth an ask what would happen if i walked up to a buckingham palace guard and gave him a proper military salute uh nothing i see people do that all the time um also yeah well you you can't really you're thinking of the horse guard guards
Starting point is 00:25:40 not the buckingham palace guards the ones who like stand stock still and you can have your photo taken with them that's how that horse guard's not the palace yes they have the big hat yeah yeah yes yes yes yes yes um so if you if you go up to them and give them a salute they don't do anything because they never do anything yeah that's like the whole thing right they don't make any reaction at all well i imagine it's like severance where they uh have severed their work self and maybe afterwards they register all the salutes they got at the end and just their whole existence is just being a fucking palace yeah well they're there to protect the queen life and limb for you know what happened there where is she now alex they couldn't stop
Starting point is 00:26:19 the reaper that's the one way that you can get them they also have bayonets which has come up a lot of these and i am eager to see somebody get killed with a bayonet in public and and their own horseback too that's pretty cool so no running away from them really no if you gave a bad salute yeah and then they had to get you i don't you would also have to be posing a threat uh this we found a particularly good answer to this so far we're working with uh nothing would happen okay yeah so steven palmer whose job is lives in london disagrees with you here uh he says if you even attempted to walk up to the one the police would arrest you i hate that he's probably taken the question literally to mean the guards oh sure sure yes they are behind a large
Starting point is 00:27:05 gate if you try and get it um but no the question obviously means the guards at horse guards um who will who won't do anything there are armed police always standing around there anyway I once saw armed police standing around horse guards. One of them had a Nazi symbol sewn onto his uniform. So that was fun. That's not very good. Maybe there's a secret queen who is also a Nazi. And they have to protect her.
Starting point is 00:27:30 And this is the two queen theory. Have you not seen that photo of the queen as a child doing the Hitler salute? Is that real? I've never seen that. Photos of the queen don't get around over here the way they should. Also, you've got to remember that part of the reason that... that uh was it edward who the one who abdicated jeremy um i told you i only watched the first three episodes of wolf hall elizabeth's father's brother abdicated the throne um you know the movie
Starting point is 00:27:59 the king's speech where like yeah where where colin fifth becomes the king because his brother abdicates yeah so so the story is that it's because he he and and uh his his wife and his wife was an american divorcee and like this was sort of not really allowed um that's part of the story yes um but the other part is that they were nazis they were big fans of hitler uh they they're the ones who like got elizabeth and her sisters to do to do like the hitler salute well that's almost as bad as divorce um yeah and this this was this was like considered to be uh hey you kind of can't be supporting the nazis because like yeah there's even like so edward even went over to nazi germany and there's like photos of him they've been like oh he did a great job here
Starting point is 00:28:38 like come and bomb me one of the reasons that that uh well this was in the build-up to the war yes yes um uh but yeah so um i don't think there's like a secret royal family who are nazis right it's just part of the real royal family were nazis well i'm glad in the u.s there's no bad nazis yeah we're the one that we solved that it's kind of look up henry it's like an electric dog fence for nazis they don't do it now now they're just sort of um i can't say allegedly pedophiles allegedly they're pedophiles i have to say that prince andrew is allegedly a pedophile because i live in the uk yes yeah and as i do not i think he's doing it um okay well uh a lot of people also saying that he would ignore you and then one guy says you could never give him a proper salute
Starting point is 00:29:30 which is my favorite answer people are obsessed with like fucking military shit yeah uh uh he's saying that you don't have the the fucking uh qualifications to salute you're a cosplayer you're pretending to be of the honorable buckingham palace guards that's a good impression you could never wear the tall hat honestly it's not the tall hat that that looks most painful it's the it's the chin strap yeah right under your bottom lip i'm like oh that's gotta dig in after a while yeah why did they design those like that is it so you have something to chew on like the horse i really don't know hmm these are other quaras we could get into for our next english guest i think
Starting point is 00:30:12 do they chew on the helmet hat uh helmet strap like a horse does on a bridle well i like that this guy says the guard would silently but thoroughly despise you no yes you alex me i'm just trying to salute what do you think this would look like just a point like hey what's up that's a classic military salute well they don't all do like this is this is the american one right i don't know they don't all do that oh the american one is that yeah yeah but this is it's it's i will this is ace ace attorney not a film franchise i'm a huge fan of for reasons i'm sure you can guess um but like no the american one is that and then the british one is that oh army one is that navy one is that yeah is it bad that i see you do this
Starting point is 00:31:03 and i think sailor moon no i'm actually quite flattered okay all right there's something about you specifically it's like part of the well there's the pink sparkly background i'm sure sailor moon was famously part of like british special forces wow that's really messed up some the things that she did she's a sailor she was in two para yeah yeah the sailor part actually no because if she was navy sailor moon it would have been that right right but no she was actually in the paras that is one of the best ways to identify sailor moon don't google sailor moon do not google history of northern ireland fucked up shit in the 80s sailor moon falcon islands um all right well then you have other good english questions this is that was just kind
Starting point is 00:31:48 of the aperitif here uh this question is how does austin powers get all those ladies when he's so ugly again a film franchise i'm not a fan of research um but no the answer is uh wholesome masculinity and because uh because he's trans oh that is a very appetizing he says that communist thing in the first movie yeah they gave him all kinds of wacky stuff and the thing is too i think it's his confidence yeah yeah it's mostly that he's dripping with confidence and he's not afraid to dance which is and i'm willing to say it a rarity among men yeah that's true yeah i won't do it i've never seen you dance kill james bond in april we're gonna do three live shows in london back to back we're gonna do the whole all of the austin powers films um and there probably will be
Starting point is 00:32:36 stuff to be said there about like the representation of austin powers masculinity in particular there's a scene i think in the first one where the the hot lady is like drunk and wants to make out with him and have sex and he's like no it wouldn't be right you're drunk uh and it's this moment of like oh you can unexpected sort of progressive uh portrayal of masculinity on screen i guess very unlike james bond in that way yeah who is a fall down drunk and so you can't imagine he's gonna draw that line but hey also the real answer is that it's a film written by men huh yeah well let's get into the we found a good answer here by someone who is furious at the question former new york city uh history teacher retired paul ramirez says it's a freaking movie not a documentary
Starting point is 00:33:20 to boot it's a comedy the essence of the joke is that powers is a caricature and an over-the-top clown he gets the beauty because it's in the script come on you don't like it then write your own movie i'm sure michael myers is worried i don't think you know you could say this about any movie you'd be like why does uh james bond get so many women it's a movie movie why why does shrek looks like daniel craig yeah also doesn't he does he mean mike myers isn't michael myers michael myers is definitely the murderer from halloween well his full name is probably still michael no i'm guessing like i don't think his mother calls him mike she doesn't want to refer to the halloween character she calls him the name that she gave him as a swaddling she broke his
Starting point is 00:34:04 plaque for getting into me hey my austin powers plaque that was actually just dana carvey dressed as his mom it's confusing when you see it all right well i guess that one's kind of just because it's a movie and because it's not real and he would never get that many ladies i guess um i'm looking at other other answers and they're pretty much all just saying that it's because it's a movie i don't know i i know some like some trans men and some non-binary trans people who have like austin powers energy because he's kind of a bit like a drag king and i know i know some who have that kind of vibe and who do very well so he really has the energy of a pussy getter he's a cool guy yeah he's just like a uh i you want to be around him you want to be close to him you want
Starting point is 00:34:53 to be part of what he's doing he is at the front of the big triangle dance he's non-threatening He's groovy Except for the evil henchmen Yeah and also he does do some Horrible shit in the films But the general vibe is supposed to be non-threatening He's a spy you know You're not always going to agree with what he's doing
Starting point is 00:35:11 He's an arm of the state That's just a fact An arm of the British state no less Don't look up what Austin Powers and Sailor Moon Are doing in Northern Ireland It was very not groovy There is a movie coming out Detailing this exact
Starting point is 00:35:27 interaction he said he was frozen the whole time he wasn't frozen he wasn't frozen he was doing black ops shit and moisturizing which is how he looks so good he was doing shit with sue gray when she was running that quote unquote pub yeah fuck off fuck off uh all right this is a i think this one may be like really if this gets a rise out of you we're sorry but it is a question we have to ask on god save the quarry in our uk segment which is which is better tea or coffee depends on the occasion okay you're a coffee guy right yeah i'm freaking slut for coffee i can't get enough of it i got a big one right now i don't drink coffee i've had one coffee two coffees in my life and both were were with alcohol yeah that's like a grenade for your stomach kind of yeah it's
Starting point is 00:36:17 not good an espresso martini i i had one time my friend made one for me and gave it to me and then i felt too weird i felt rude not to drink it and then another time someone forced me to have one both times terry said before we started recording that his life does not involve food that's not what i said i said i don't like food that much that's the craziest thing i've heard in my entire life yeah i have a lot of problems you can only be when i was in the when i was in new york i was drinking coffee every day but that's because i couldn't get good tea whereas here i normally have a tea and sometimes i'll treat myself like i don't have strong feelings about it as long as the tea is good yeah coffee is good um i have coffee every day and it makes me sick
Starting point is 00:37:00 and that's how much i love this stuff i do have tea every day we're the two sides of this quora yeah we're opposites you can't get like really really into coffee as well like one of my partners is like a big coffee head and she's got like a special machine and she's like it's really into like into wine and she'll like make me cups of coffee and be like taste this is that and i'm just like you should taste the coffee do you do you feel all the notes apparently there are notes fruity notes it's honey and like nutty it's coffee like i'm sorry i'm just waiting for you also i don't understand why it takes like 20 minutes to make it and there's like the machine and that this is extraordinarily wasteful i don't know what they're doing in there i guess
Starting point is 00:37:45 just massaging the beans what they're doing is yeah they're the machine the fancy machines there's stuff about like how the water goes over like how finely it's ground i'm like i don't care like yeah put a vanilla shot and some skinny milk in it and give me a big straw and some ice i'm a lesbian i don't care this is also like why i shouldn't get into coffee is like i worry that i'm pretentious about enough things already like i can't you gotta lean into it bro yeah you gotta wear a suit you have to start acting like goku you have to get into coffee move out of your mother's home uh anyway i thought this was a particularly good answer to this because it is romantic and it has a lot of pictures yeah okay so let's read it it says
Starting point is 00:38:29 uh coffee is like a date tea is like a marriage and then a picture of a couple and they're having a date or marriage 40% of cups of tea end in failure yeah that's really sad coffee is a friend of the croissants you can't get it if you're transgender in Britain without applying to the government for permission what
Starting point is 00:38:50 that's a bad law I think they should change those tea laws I disagree with those the Scottish tried to but it's been overruled coffee is a friend of the croissants Uh-oh. Tea is a companion of the pakoras. Very true.
Starting point is 00:39:06 If they're going to be quassal, then you've got to have coffee. You've got to have them. What about pakoras? It says tea is a companion of pakoras. I've never had... Wait, pakoras... I don't know what that is, honestly. Like a chicken thing?
Starting point is 00:39:17 It's like an Indian appetizer, I believe. It's like a fried... Yeah, I've never had chicken pakoras with tea. That's interesting. I might try that. That doesn't really seem like it would go together. But I'm reading on Quora that it does. Quora says it does.
Starting point is 00:39:30 Okay, there's a bunch of these. um coffee is for the busy study night tea for the lazy leisurely evenings oh hey don't have caffeine at night you're gonna be sleepy for your test yeah that's a bad idea come on uh coffee is for pulling you out of dreams and tea is for one of those intense focused conversations oh my very true tea is very important for big conversations uh coffee can be used for flavoring ice creams tea survives and suffices alone. I don't think that makes any sense. That's kind of a negative spin on tea, in my opinion.
Starting point is 00:40:02 You can get tea-flavored ice cream. You can make tea-flavored cake. Absolutely. Matcha. Earl Grey cake. There you go. Earl Grey and gin cake. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:40:11 That doesn't sound good. I'm going to be frank with you. I don't think gin goes in a cake. It does. You put gin frosting? I'm against it. No, think about it. Think about all the botanicals.
Starting point is 00:40:22 You'd work that into a little frosting. It's good. I guess I've had rum in a cake, but rum's made out of sugar. We'll just have to agree to disagree on this. Coffee needs those expensive mugs. Tea is content with the humble tapri glasses. What's a tapri glass?
Starting point is 00:40:38 I do not know. Also, mugs are not that expensive. It's content with the humble tapri glass. No, no, that's horrible. It's what it says. What is a tapri glass? I don't know, but you shouldn't drink tea out of a glass. No, I agree with that.
Starting point is 00:40:50 Not in England, anyway. It's humble. Maybe cultures, but that's done. Tapri glass. And it's cool, and it's good there. But if somebody gave me a glass of tea in this country, I'd be like, you're insane. You're a lunatic.
Starting point is 00:41:00 They're selling on Google for $60. These are good glasses. Oh, are they like the Russian ones? Is that the Russian tea? I think it's Indian. Okay. No one quite knows what it is, and that adds to its allure. I'm sure someone knows.
Starting point is 00:41:19 I know that Russians sometimes you'll have a glass of tea with a metal handle. but that's a different that's a different tea beast these are handleless that's a whole other samovar shit um goes back to the noble hasar uh i've lost track of where this is yeah we're at the bottom let's let's finish the tea question both of them are so different and yet so amazing on their own that it's really you who decides what kind of person you are and then it's a picture of love but the o is a coffee and then it says source google not really that is it's It's a source we use when we're confused on Quora.
Starting point is 00:41:55 I don't think that you could put that in a bibliography. Yeah, your teacher's going to mark you down for your Google source. Source, the web. The information superhighway. Okay. All right. Let's skip the Hollywood one. I don't think the Hollywood one's as good as our other ones,
Starting point is 00:42:12 but that ends the God Save the Quorine segment. Thank you for being here. I want to know what Hollywood thinks about British people. This is a non-British one. you're just gonna have to take my word for it it's not as good as the other questions okay uh but this is you're gonna like this one instead this is going to uh really prompt a debate and that is of course uh our politics segment our segment for the quiz course let me get the sound for that here in the quiz course i was trying to remember what it was
Starting point is 00:42:46 and I could not figure it out and then it's just a gunshot. In the game of quiz course, you win or you die. It's the quiz course. And this is important politics and politics affects all of our lives. And the question today that we found, Aquara,
Starting point is 00:43:02 is was Garfield a communist? Garfield the cat? Garfield the cat. Well, you know, it doesn't say. That's actually a good question. I think Garfield the president was around before communism. So I don't think he was communist.
Starting point is 00:43:19 If you read your English history, Alex, you'll know that in the 1600s, Gerard Wynne Stanley invented a form of communism. Oh, I didn't know that. I didn't realize communism was so English. It kind of changes things. I have to tell some people. Yeah, do they mean Garfield the president or Garfield the cat?
Starting point is 00:43:39 They mean the cat, I can assure you. I assume they mean the cat. If you're on a first name basis, it's very rare. I don't know, I guess it would be last name basis. But then you call him President Garfield. True, yes. Or we don't call him the cat. Well, you know what?
Starting point is 00:43:52 One of the answers from 40 years ago does say which one, the president or the cat. Well, we're all wondering. Unfortunately, this is locked. It is paywall. You need to pay to find out about Garfield in this situation. Can we just, all right, let's get our information out on Garfield the cat. Okay. He's an orange cat.
Starting point is 00:44:11 Orange. He hates Mondays. Mondays. Loves lasagna. Lasagna, sleepy. does he does or dislikes john i can't tell he has a will they won't they with john sure um like an office gym and hates od sure the dog ot is the name of the dog hates him not to mention normal he doesn't seem to have a lot of people he likes kind of anti-social in a way okay um so maybe he's
Starting point is 00:44:37 like a in the dsa or something yeah he's uh he's what he's got those sweatpants that say anti-social socialist on him sure he's got like neck tattoos and stuff um i have seen garfield the many communist memes because he's like on monday i should have a nap it seems that garfield hasn't really put forward any theories or stance on political economy so maybe maybe garfield's lump in proletariat i think well here's the thing is no matter what his formation is he's going to be a parasite on the movement and so you have to consider that you do not want garfield as chair of your chapter that's for sure because you're not getting any of your motions passed that's fair he certainly doesn't seem to have much knowledge of like
Starting point is 00:45:22 laboring he's not he's not like a worker right he's not doing the work he's not doing praxis the way he should if he's not working then why does he hate mondays well because john goes to work because mondays are the day that john lee oh garfield oh you're just a little guy you're just a little potentially communist guy uh by the way quora very anti-communist website as we're about to find out pretty sure right um all right i the first answer here was pretty good which one you want to read the one with the pepe on it okay no garfield the cat was pro-capitalist his saying i hate mondays as capitalist propaganda to relate to the common man of working through the weekdays clearly a capitalist i don't think that makes any sense it's a rallying cry you know how it's
Starting point is 00:46:12 the capitalist love to relate to the common man who hate working wait keep reading he asked john to buy him food constantly buy food buy b-u-y garfield is all about consumerism in all manners through currency and literal food garfield the cat is a fat cat he was it was undebatable that he was an insurance broker at one point capitalism i'm pretty sure he fronted for the mob he fronted for the mob i don't know if that this is one claim about garfield i must question i do not remember that at garfield not even in the one where he has a farm and lives on a farm with those chickens who's the creator of garfield again jim davis bam right i'm getting him mixed up with um the dilbert guy right scott adams is a very different scott adams he's just been fired
Starting point is 00:47:02 yeah adams considers himself libertarian and he went on a podcast called like the race hour and then claimed he was black and that you should that was years ago talks to black people the thing was the thing with scott adams is that he has been posting like racial screeds for the last like 20 years and everyone was like i guess this is fine and then he somehow managed to top it by saying that all black people are a hate group the all of black people and they're like all right enough it doesn't make sense and you're gonna read more about it and it still doesn't make sense so just take our word for this uh i but it does end with the discussion that like i also consider myself black i remember seeing that in between uh that he says uh the james
Starting point is 00:47:46 Bond film live and let die I have not Roger Moore's first one so the the villain in that is like um is is black people like all of them oh wow there's a scene well yeah like there's like a head villain obviously but there's a scene where James Bond goes to New York and um he's like he's like being driven around in a taxi and then like every time he drives past a black person they like pull out a radio and like and like the implication is that like every black person in america is in on this it's like being followed like every time he drives past someone's like yeah yeah he's just going here like even even when he gets out of the taxi his taxi driver like takes the money and then like calls it in it's like yeah he's just going inside like it's i imagine
Starting point is 00:48:28 that is the world that scott adams yeah look out q they're hip-hopping get down um that's not like crazy um yeah well scott adams and and i guess what is it jim davis wait i have to ask the question does roger moore play basketball in the film no all right okay moving on it's like the cat woman scene big fan of the cat woman scene okay uh yeah but uh yeah dillbert is not in the question the question is about garfield we're getting a lot of uh uh capitalist uh answers that he is actually a money-making cat and also because he buys things which i'm not sure really holds up but is what we're reading um this guy mike says back in the 80s the cold war was on and people saw communism everywhere there was an urban myth that garfield was a communist if that's
Starting point is 00:49:26 what this question is about probably because his catchphrase was they should be dragged out into the street and shot so i read this last night and i was like that's a joke right and i looked it up i didn't realize that that is his real catchphrase in the cartoon come on he says that you can't you're gonna inspire violence he was like the pewdiepie of 1980 i couldn't tell it was i hate mondays that's no it's not it's that john should be dragged out in the street and shot i mean i could look it up uh oh no what have i done what are you doing i can try to find it um but i remember i looked it up last night and i was like i couldn't tell if it was like someone doing a meme or something but um i don't know there's videos of garfield saying you should be dragged into the
Starting point is 00:50:11 street gar uh jeremy is on youtube typing in garfield dragged out in the street and shot let's see people like that should be drug out into the street and shot oh my god it sounds worse when he says it because he's so sleepy let's see all right this is 23 all right he's with the clown he's barking away thing like that should be drug out into the street and shot it's just a clown it's a compilation anyway um well that's a catchphrase of his why see the thing is attributing that to communism i think is disregarding a lot of the facts of the cold war which is that many both sides were dragging people out of the street and shooting them yeah very true yeah and so uh read um read uh the the uh jakarta method for more on
Starting point is 00:51:06 what garfield believes and kind of the history of the world you live in check that book out uh but in the meantime it appears that garfield is in fact a capitalist pig don't ask what garfield than austin powers and sailing fucked up shit it's because the irish of course uh hate was on you that's true well they can't handle you know what never mind um i take it back you don't want to piss off our ira listeners
Starting point is 00:51:35 uh i'm english and even i was like slightly preemptively what was he gonna say i just want everyone on this episode to feel safe okay um wait wait sorry you want to do this last answer would you like to yeah garfield was a communist and plain old mean because he hates dogs and it's dog that scares the cat and not the other way around plus he hates his owner too john he feeds you and takes care of you so why do you hate him he does everything to love you now this is what you return how
Starting point is 00:52:06 and that's one sentence and i'm giving it an upvote okay see this is an interesting proposition because it kind of implies that the class tensions in Marxist analysis where the rich parasite from the poor or whatever, this implies that actually CEOs are like the John to society's Garfield. Yeah, this is like landlords provide housing. That's that old lie.
Starting point is 00:52:34 And you hate them because you're so sleepy and it's Monday. Yeah, you hate them because they're better than you because they're land chats. If Garfield was an upstanding citizen, he would go to work and, I guess, buy John a house. Does Garfield pay rent? No, he doesn't pay rent. He's a cat.
Starting point is 00:52:53 Good question. Okay. Okay, let's go on to our next question. It's another segment. Yes, this is our segment, The Quoker, which is our incel and manosphere segment. and this is where we give advice to young men who follow alex um because of his dragon ball related podcast yeah if you have an audience you need to reach them where they are okay so this question is on quora uh it's under the uh quora section of that it doesn't appear to be in any
Starting point is 00:53:26 particular form it's true it says i want to have a real locker room experience how do i do that 13 male now the first thing i'm going to say is going to want to start whipping people with that towel i think that's number one for the locker room experience if you want to do this mean what is a real locker room experience is it's a real i guess just everything you can do in a locker room for me the only real locker room experience i could think of is just seeing old men naked just walking around that's a big yeah it's uh interacting with a previous generation who is far more naked than you would get is number one in a locker room if that's what you want and then i'd say number two is folding your clothes nicely and putting them in a locker
Starting point is 00:54:09 i've never done that oh you gotta you simply haven't had the experience i'm shoving my clothes in a backpack okay um what else could you do in a locker room yeah i have an authentic locker experience i feel like change you can change your clothes put on a bathing suit you can eat an apple you brought worry about whether or not you're gonna get a hate crime or become a headline yeah that might be a unique locker room experience i think that is what 13 year olds are generally worried about in the locker room trance they are yeah yeah uh there's some kind of terrible interaction having in the second that society closes its doors on you sure you could be banned from using one you know that's an authentic experience about a locker room yes that's true
Starting point is 00:54:57 you could walk to the locker room and then turn away yeah and that would be authentic in its own capacity um i think i've said this on this podcast before but i have a very distinct memory of uh being a kid and in like middle school and my friend trying to play guitar on his dick yes i don't know if that's an authentic locker room experience it's authentic in that it happened it is burned into my brain I'm curious to hear this did the penis woman story make it across the Atlantic? Have you guys heard about this?
Starting point is 00:55:26 I have not heard of a penis woman story okay so it was an article in the Daily Mail recently there was a Tory councillor who went to the pub in London and she was in the loo and there was a trans woman in there and apparently the dryer was broken
Starting point is 00:55:42 so this cis Tory councillor said oh I guess we'll have to shake our hands dry and allegedly what this trans woman said was um no i'll dry my hands on my penis um the tory councillor interpreted this as a threat wrote an article in the daily mail in which she made several disparaging comments about this trans woman's appearance and also wrote a letter to our government's minister for equalities demanding that trans women be disallowed from using women's facilities off the back of this now it so happens that i know the trans woman in question and what she actually said was i'll dry my hands on my jeans that makes a lot more sense
Starting point is 00:56:26 either like misheard or shall we say creatively misheard because it has since emerged that this this story counselor has a history of like anti-trans views sure um and has also demonstrated like her severe transphobia in in the letter that she wrote to the minister for equalities um so i just wondered if that particular kind of like locker room slash toilet experience that story had made it across so you listeners you could always have that kind of authentic experience the toilet is the locker room of shit as far as i'm concerned i don't think you could dry your hands on your penis that was also what i was getting into is like you're just gonna make your penis a mess yeah i don't think it has that ability i would love to be standing at the door
Starting point is 00:57:08 of the bathroom just wiping my hands on my penis being like it's not working maybe this woman this this this woman thinks that like penises have a dryer function where they like instead of pissing or coming they can go air yeah i see what you're saying and then they dry your hands and let's just say for the record they don't do that that's a crude misconception and so that's fucking crazy that's one thing that wouldn't happen in a locker room i think i would hope not although you were saying the guitar penis thing he didn't do that he'd be strong but i'll say like he made the noise with his mouth it didn't come from the penis at all uh he was going like so it's kind of just a little gag then huh i i'm as surprised as you were immature i'm against it wait so did he
Starting point is 00:57:57 strum his penis as if it were a guitar yes from the guitar with his no no he strummed his penis as if it was a guitar strumming your guitar with your penis is a far more uh impressive feat i cannot imagine he remembers it but we have his gym class he brought his guitar we haven't spoken since probably high school he likes my instagram post every now and then every time he does i think that guy tried to strum his penis like a guitar that guy thinks his penis is a guitar just i i it's burned into my brain okay so a lot of these questions let's just say they're asking what is a real locker room experience but also going back to the fact it's about putting your clothes in a locker baby so this guy paul jones wrote like a thousand words wow it formatted like a poem
Starting point is 00:58:40 um he says what is a real locker room experience i think this is gonna get philosophical I've been using locker rooms since the seventh grade, clear through high school and then college, and then going to the gym and public swimming pools. Even so, I have no idea what you're talking about when you say real locker room experience. You're only 13, and you want the men in the locker room to realize that you're a grown-up and no longer a little boy.
Starting point is 00:59:05 Here's what you do. Is that the question? Find a available locker. Remove all your clothing. Put it in the locker room along with your towel. Lock the locker. Walk to the urinal and take a piss. Walk back to your locker.
Starting point is 00:59:16 Get your gym clothing out and put it on. Go do your workout. When you return, pull your t-shirt off as you walk back into the locker room. Once you're inside, stop and pull your shorts off. This is just becoming like, I don't like this at all. Yeah, this is like indecent. This is a child. Why are you describing this so adept?
Starting point is 00:59:35 We're also one third of the way through the post. He just keeps doing this. I feel like I don't want to know. Yeah, I tend to agree. I no longer want to read. This is another one of those Quora sickos, isn't it? I think it is. Although it ends the post with towel bin.
Starting point is 00:59:49 Most gyms supply a towel, and there's no reason to bring one or take one home. There is one comment on it that says, Paul, really superb. Those are all of the steps that you could take in the locker room. I don't like this at all. One guy says, take a PE class at school. Look around at your local gym. See if they allow a 13-year-old to join. This is just like advice.
Starting point is 01:00:08 If you're going to be joining a gym when you're 13, you'll end up weird like Gohan. that was one of the things that's also i mean he should be shorter for the amount of weightlifting he does as a child because that does stunt your growth i'm starting to worry that this is a pedophile question or something i don't know jeremy's quickly throwing blast a series of blurred images who knows what that means i i don't i don't know how much i want to read some of these you have an uncle or dad in the shower asked to wash your buddies back We can't read the rest of that one. We cannot read the rest of that one.
Starting point is 01:00:38 Okay, so this is a sex freak. I don't know what it is. The thing with Quora is that it's almost like an extra layer of perversion because they can't just look stuff up. You know what I mean? They have to do these weird scenarios. I mean, this guy is probably just a pedophile or something. I actually think it's a 13-year-old boy.
Starting point is 01:00:58 He just wants to know, what do I do in the locker room? Prince Andrew. Legally speaking, that was a joke. Alleged, alleged, alleged. Your Honor, that was a joke. This is the second week in a row we've come into this problem where we had to say someone is allegedly a pedophile. Allegedly.
Starting point is 01:01:15 But also from the United States. Yeah, you guys can say it. I think he did that. Okay, what's this next one? What's a telltale sign you're in front of a very intelligent person? So this is almost philosophical in a way. Don't mock me. um i don't know abby what do you think trying to think who are the most intelligent people i know
Starting point is 01:01:43 and what are their qualities we know it's not garfield based on what we've learned about him today um so the most intelligent person i've ever known was exceedingly confident okay she was a wonderful actor cool she had very kind of piercing eyes which was not just because of the color of them but but because she was like she looked quite intensely at you when she spoke um she spoke four languages uh english french italian and spanish a lot of romance in there a lot of latin derivatives yes yes there was there was some romance um yeah she she spoke four languages and vivisected me in two of them um she was a fantastic actor played a brilliant richard ii um
Starting point is 01:02:40 but unfortunately was also a monster like just genuinely one of the most horrible and abusive people i've ever had the misfortune of crossing paths i do feel like that's a telltale sign you're in front of a very intelligent person because they know how to be manipulated they're an uncontrollable monster yes yeah yeah so if you see someone and you're like i'm getting monster vibes it may be a sign that they're actually quite intelligent yeah yeah yeah um so i would caution the listener by saying that intelligence isn't always a sign of a good character but there are some people who i know who are very intelligent who are very sweet i guess they're always like making plans and they're always like oh yeah the thing i've i'm gonna do this because that's gonna
Starting point is 01:03:19 get me x y z and that's gonna get me where i need to go and i'm like ah yes you've like thought this through yeah that's an executive step um strategic i guess um well it turns out very many people on the internet they find the most intelligent person they've met is elon musk from twitter.com unfortunately they have a lot of things about elon musk and then a picture of him answer the question well well but it's really it's eye-opening about how intelligent elon musk is the thing about elon musk not to wade into discourse is that i always assumed that he was just like a normal intelligence person who like you know was just a celebrity but now that he like has actively destroyed twitter like i think he might actually just be like really dumb yes i think there's something about occupying
Starting point is 01:04:07 that sort of position in society that makes you yeah that's fair you can live free of god when it doesn't matter whether or not you're right yeah i guess your intelligence atrophies doesn't it That's very possible. You can kind of just buy right people and then they do the right stuff. I just assumed he was like normal businessman dumb, though. You know what I mean? But it's just like I was like, wow, he really he's got the juice, the dumb juice. Well, let's see actually his intelligent signs, though.
Starting point is 01:04:33 OK, sure. Let's read the answer, because this guy, when he when he when asked what's a telltale sign in front of a very intelligent person, he says Elon Musk was once interviewing a man for the software engineer role, which there's one of my favorite role that has ever happened. that Elon Musk is interviewing people. We all play a role in this life. One interesting trait that caught Elon's eyes was that the man had worked on a poultry farm growing up. Throughout the interview, Elon, with his eyes wide open, asked the man nothing technical,
Starting point is 01:05:02 but only about his experience working in a poultry farm. His eyes wide. He was genuinely curious. How big were the chickens? Did you get seed on your boot? When you woke up in the morning, were you sleepy? We asked him nothing technical because he's an idiot. He doesn't know anything technical.
Starting point is 01:05:22 What does the rooster say? You're hired. Did you get free eggs? Eggs really come out in different colors. Isn't that true? I read that that's true. He was genuinely curious to know what it was like working on a poultry farm, even though the information was of no particular use to him.
Starting point is 01:05:41 If the person in front of you is curious to learn new things, it is the surest sign of his intelligence. And then it's a very grainy picture of Elon Musk. Really zoomed in so you can see his brilliant eyes. This was written by a professional dating coach. Okay, well, why don't you date Elon Musk? Because you love Elon Musk so much. And this also has 44,000 up quoras.
Starting point is 01:06:02 I don't like that. That's too many. I think this professional dating coach is quite intelligent because clearly he knows that his audience is insecure young men who are going to like stories about Elon Musk. I think this dating coach is very intelligent. if you're a dating coach for young men telling the person just hey ask questions about the person you're talking to about their life and childhood it's actually good advice for dating and now i'm
Starting point is 01:06:27 imagining a bunch of young men who've read this though and then they go on a date and they're like so what was it like growing up in a poultry farm i didn't grow up on a poultry farm i'm gonna stay on mission like what do you think it would be like imagine the chickens some advice i give young men about the most intelligent person that i've seen is um just how strong they are in their bright orange gi that could actually be a sign of a hidden genius that kind of displays itself in the way they fight in the way they never give up after a zen kai boost whether the podcasts are all merging yeah i guess sometimes like all this brand synergy and i think sometimes like intelligence does fly under the radar so like my my mom is uh a genius and she's now retired
Starting point is 01:07:15 she was when she was working um one of the one of like foremost specialists in her field and also changed the way that her field is done um but you know she also started out as a woman in the 60s when that genius wasn't really recognized and it wasn't really until the last few years of her career that she was recognized and people actually looked at her research and were like oh damn this kind of changes everything and you've been here doing this the whole time this slaps yeah well yeah and she was finally recognized um and uh just before she retired and given proper credit but some but you know she she had to like bite her tongue a lot and like hide her light under a bushel a lot in particular to placate her male colleagues um so if you're looking for
Starting point is 01:07:57 intelligence i would say that it can sometimes be found in places that you might not necessarily think that you would find it because of the society that you're raised in but we are taught to believe that men are capable of being like intelligent and going out and getting things and for that reason like there's that phrase like the next einstein might be mopping floors like because you we don't yeah think that that sort of person could be intelligent um but actually when you give people a chance no matter who they are then all sorts of people can have astounding intelligence you know there was kind of a movie about einstein who mopped floors jeremy did you know that I was about to talk about the story of Will Hunting.
Starting point is 01:08:34 He was actually a cool Boston guy, and he'd eat apples. I hate that you're telling us this beautiful story about your mom, and both me and Alex are just like, that's like Good Will Hunting. That's like a movie I saw. That's like a movie from a silly town. Matt David wrote this movie. Ben Affleck didn't help the way he should. Does that remind you of what your mom did?
Starting point is 01:08:56 I feel so dumb all the time. No, but it's actually a smart movie, so it's okay, because it's okay to have trauma, and that's what that's about, and it's in the 90s when you couldn't say that. Yeah, it's not your fault. You couldn't say that back then. Well, we're running a little long. Let's get to the last question before this camera dies.
Starting point is 01:09:11 Yes, smart. As foils us again and again. Okay, final question. This is on Core Romance, our romance segment. And again, I'm sorry about this music. Here we are in the Core Romance segment where shagging wins. Okay. Okay, this is a genuine dating question that I think a lot of people want to know.
Starting point is 01:09:32 You know, if you're on a date, I don't know, whatever. The question is, why would someone stick his penis into a woman's vagina? Why would someone stick his penis, so in this case, it's a man, into a woman's vagina? What if they have something to hide? They have to hide their penis. penis don't look there if someone were to hypothetically use their penis in a crime yeah before the authorities come looking get rid of the penis put it put it in a woman's vagina get it out of here the perfect hiding spot it doesn't detach like you know the buckingham
Starting point is 01:10:13 palace guards have um uh long blades on the end of their guns that they can use to then commit a crime and if you were to affix a bayonet to the end of a penis then you could use a penis to commit a crime sure the crime being murder you can't you can't use penises to commit crimes even if they don't have bayonets attached of course i didn't even consider that you could absolutely you could just show it you could do you play guitar with penis there's all kinds of stuff you could do we've covered this episode i feel like the question i should try it and see yeah i think that's a good i think that's a great answer it is really one of those just like check it out kind of situations yeah have you heard of it like uh are you experienced there
Starting point is 01:10:54 is a chance there's like a million reasons there's a chance it's a non-penis having person who's just like what is the deal with these things who are these people we're trying to get rid of it all the time i don't understand okay uh the time trance mask jerry sign i want to see that i want to see a drag king do jerry seinfeld that would rule i would love that they're saying the things we're all thinking and then like most of the act is still about like you go to the coffee shop they got too many sugars just like inane bullshit okay uh what's the top answer here uh i'm told it feels quite good to many, if not most
Starting point is 01:11:43 penis owners. Oh, it's quite good. Not having one, I can't attest to it. I can, however, say it also feels good to many, if not most, vagina owners. A happy coincidence. Truly a marriage made in heaven. You've got penis in my
Starting point is 01:12:00 vagina. You've got vagina on my penis. You've got peanut butter on your penis. Well, that's a whole other thing. If you want to try that, I mean... If you're seducing a dog, um okay now uh there are some people in the comments here who are somewhat down bad horrendous but wait one person says i assume by stick you don't mean to make it stick with super glue no yeah i also assume no one thought that that's not smart like a bayonet answer
Starting point is 01:12:28 piece of shit um i mean yeah that's which one are you looking for yeah i was a mounted man nothing else in his lifetime will ever come close to feeling that good it's also the most effective way to impregnate her that is true from computer field that's where mountain man works it is definitely one of the most effective ways it's kind of ironic his name is mountain man but he works in computer field that is ironic ha what a strange one of the great ironies of mountain man uh is there anything we haven't covered here i feel like we kind of nailed it um yeah hotflirty.com says georgia york i don't know what that means uh one person says no that's a different question never mind
Starting point is 01:13:17 no they don't forget no one says no why would someone stick his penis into a woman's vagina no you never know on quora.com it's always an adventure it's always an adventure that's why we do it every week jeremy another person also said do you mean with glue what is happening do you mean with glue maybe i'm dumb maybe everyone thinks glue all right well well that's all the questions we have i feel like i've learned a lot today shit let's do the question do we want to ask what questions do we have we said one earlier what did garfield do in in ireland it's not gonna make any sense to people jeremy unless they've seen the show they've seen it we assume you've all seen the show um okay uh what did we talk
Starting point is 01:14:07 about today we talked about buckingham palace we talked about austin powers we talked about garfield we talked about uh locker room talk um uh poisoning my son poisoning a son oh wait we did intelligence how intelligent should my son be which fictional character has the highest IQ that's a really good question
Starting point is 01:14:33 we're going to get a fucked up answer for that out of Garfield, Sailor Moon and Austin Powers oh yeah that gives you options too otherwise people just go out well it's Commander Dayton out of Garfield, Sailor Moon and Austin Powers
Starting point is 01:14:49 alright Jeremy's typing that one up What I want you to do, Jeremy, is I want you to put the post as which character has the highest IQ. And then only when you click on it does it say out of. Do it right. I've got an opinion. Oh, it's stupid. Don't fuck this up. They're already there. They're already committed.
Starting point is 01:15:05 I don't know if that's possible. Is there not like Reddit where there's like a headline and then you click and you get an expanded version? We don't know. There's questions and then there's problems. It's kind of confusing. We'll figure it out. We're going to make it happen. Abigail, thank you so much for coming on the show.
