I'm one of those people who will happily eat steak and eggs any time of the day.
Breakfast, dinner, it's technically midnight, but I'm still hungry.
Doesn't matter.
There's just something unbeatable about a good steak hitting a hot pan.
That immediate sizzle, the smell filling the kitchen, and then topping it with a fried egg where the yolk is deep yellow and just barely runny.
Unreal.
Pure protein heaven.

The views and opinions of Lela Rahini, Marshall Harris, and Mark Grody,
should not be taken too seriously, especially when they give advice.
Do not take Marshall's analogies, literally.
Especially when it comes to Russell Dorsey.
The sports thoughts of Rahimi Harrison Grotie may change at any time.
It's just sports.
Gay, thanks. Bye.
Rahimi Harrison Grody, 10 to 2 on 1043, the score.
Adam Schafter reporting that DJ Moore is being traded to the Buffalo Bills
that will be activated when the league year begins on March 11th.
What?
I feel like this goes back to what Ryan polls alluded to at the Combine,
and he did it again at the season-ending press conference prior to that.
We were suspicious of this.
Our ears perked when we heard him talk about tough decisions that he had to make.
Now we find out what those decisions were.
I don't think you're good at making tough decisions.
You don't leave the door open the way Ryan Poles and Ben Johnson to a lesser degree did
on the final day at Hallis Hall.
This is a perfect destination for him and Josh Allen.
Oh, the fake Williams.
Does it please you?
I mean, is that some fondue?
It doesn't please me, but it's good to see.
Good to hear him out there doing that, and that means he's doing gross.
How gratifying is it when you win that battle and get the football thrown to you?
What?
Did you need a game like that?
Did I need a game?
Yeah.
For what?
Just in terms of all of us talking about the lack of targets that you've had relative to past years?
I mean, if you say so, will it shut y'all up?
Perhaps.
It ain't going to shut y'all up.
This season was special for the 2025 Bears because of IP Virginia,
but we went out there and made some moments this year,
and it was special moments, and we can't look forward to causing havoc to the league next year.
That was a really good bear.
He was a, that's the category.
He wasn't great with the Bears, but he was a really good Chicago bear.
That end of the day is after Packers.
Marshall Harris, Mark Grody, midday's 10 a.m. 2 on Chicago Sports Radio 104.3, The Score.
You can say that again, DJ.
Great tribute. Tyler Beaterbaugh.
Nicely done. One day, almost 24 hours after the news broke on our show about DJ Moore.
That was about 1045.
This is Rahimi Harris and Grody.
I'm 1043 The Score.
We thank you for joining us on this Friday.
He can't shut me up, DJ Moore.
No, we're going to be flapping gums for another four hours today.
And you just never know what is going to happen in this wild week on Rahimi Harris and Grotie as we sit in studio in downtown Chicago with the darkness covering downtown Chicago right now.
It is, my goodness, it got bad quickly.
But I like it.
I like it when it's dark when we can't be outside playing.
So this is perfect.
Yeah, these are dark skies to stay out, stay dry out there, my friends.
Yes.
When it comes to the Bears, not only did we get the news yesterday about DJ Moore,
but on top of it was news about Tremaine Edmonds,
which I think a lot of us expected to happen.
Tremaine Edmonds gets released.
We understand that is a $15 million savings in salary cap money for the Bears.
And I think what we have now is a defined direction.
When we saw players that we thought might get traded, DJ was on our minds.
We've thought about it.
It was something that we thought could happen from a roster standpoint when it came to where the bears had a lot of depth, quality depth at that,
would the fact that he was the highest paid player, a $28.5 million cap hit,
bills have to pick up $24.5 million of his salary.
Would that cause the bears to have to do something different?
But the only thing I think that we ask that we won't get an answer to is how much did they have to pivot from their original plan?
Because we don't know the original plan.
When Drew Dalman's retirement became a possibility for them and became, it's not officially official, but when that's out there, you know, we've talked about it.
So when Drew Dalman now is somebody you have to replace and you know that you've spent a lot of money last year on the pass rush and that's something.
you have to improve and you still need a left tackle.
I think it's safe to say who's next?
Like could they make another move where somebody we expect to see on this team may no longer be here?
Yeah.
I mean, there's no reason for us to sit here and say no, we're not going to see more action even today
just because of what's been going on in the names that have been thrown out there.
We know that the vulnerable Bears players on the roster right now, like if you want to like go through the list,
You just talked about Tremaine Edmonds.
There is Cole Commet.
There is D'Andre Swift.
Right.
If, you know, they might be done clearing cap space, but those are the guys that you would look to still.
If they were to make more moves, there is the possibility still of restructuring.
The only restructuring candidates that I jotted down, and this was from the Kevin
Fishbane article who laid it all out really nicely and digestible for everybody.
The only thing that's left on the board, because so much has changed since then, would
be a Joe Tunney Jonah Jackson restructuring, which would create another $14 million in
cap space, but you certainly can't depend on that from those players if they don't want to
accept that, especially Tune at this point.
Well, yeah, that would be the second year in a row that Tune had had some sort of extension
slash restructure, so that that would probably be significant.
But I think it's safe to say now that the two players who I wondered about whether or not
they were going to be here despite their production are no longer bears.
plus the sudden retirement of Drew Dahlman,
I think it's safe to say that nobody's safe.
Nobody is safe.
And the good news is, and boy, has this ever,
have we talked about the, this might be the most,
I remember, ever discussing the salary cap in a bear's off season.
It's always pertinent.
It's always something worth keeping an eye on.
But we're all counting together right now.
And with the moves that the bears have made,
They are up to around $44 million in Capspace right now.
And with the latest being, and you mentioned him, Tremaine Edmonds, that created right there.
And we've been talking about it all along.
It creates $15 million, or created now $15 million in Capspace.
And I look at Tremaine Edmonds' career with the Bears.
I say it as steady if not spectacular.
probably you probably wanted more out of Tremaine Edmonds in the four-year $72 million contract,
especially because he replaced essentially an incredibly popular and productive player in Roquan Smith.
He had his best year for the Bears this past year, even though he played in his fewest games last year,
12 or 13 games relative to the 14 to 17 that he had played in the previous year.
So he will be missed, but he is replaceable.
I think it's the same thing with DJ Moore.
He will be missed, but he is replaceable.
And we'll get into that topic a little bit later on.
But these are tough moves.
But when you get past the initial hit, the initial jarring of these guys, you're like, okay, it all makes sense.
But as you open the show, Leila, now what?
What's you going to do with that money?
What is your priority?
We know the positions that have to be filled.
And I don't even think you even mention the fact that the safety portion of this,
now comes back into view a little bit.
Like I had put, honestly, Leila,
I had put Kevin Byrd and Jaquan Brisker out of my mind.
I thought that they were going to have to go a cheaper route with that position, period.
But now I think you can look at those two guys.
I still think you have to choose one between Kevin Byard,
who's probably going to command between $8 and $10 million per year.
Well, Bristker could be getting something similar.
You know, I saw three years and $30 million for him.
but that puts everything back in play in the linebacker position as well.
Well, and not just that, Mark, but we now are in a space where we are seeing what Ryan Poles does
when he has to make cap space work with his guys.
You know, we didn't have Ryan Poles doing this earlier in his time with the Bears.
He was whether or not you want to admit it trying to take.
He didn't want to call it a rebuild, but it was a rebuild.
Byron Pringle.
Nikiel Harry.
We'll do it again today if we want.
There are many.
Nate Davis.
So the point is.
Lucas Patrick.
Exactly.
Should we stop now?
No.
No, keep it going.
Stop now, boys.
But that's it.
You traded Roquan Smith.
You got that pick.
You used it on Chase Claypool.
We'll keep it going.
Chase Claypool.
Loves football.
Doesn't like.
Likes to fight.
Do you remember who he fought on the sidelines?
This is kind of in the background.
But the big fight that he had that we're all going crazy over.
over in and on field one out at Hallis Hall.
Tyreek Stevenson.
Tyreek Stevenson and him were not playing well together.
Did Tyreek win?
No.
No, I think that that would be Chase Claypool considerably larger man than Tyreek Stevenson.
But ultimately did Tyreek win?
Ultimately, Tyreek won.
Well then.
Yeah, he got to continue on being a bear because he wasn't horrible at his job.
Lost the battle, won the war.
Yeah, he had some bad moments, Tyreek Stevenson, but he wasn't a bad player like Chase
Claypool turned out.
to be. The fact that those two got into it, but that's it. So those were the players that we talked about
outside of the usual, you know, Justin Fields and the like. That's who we talked about in the early
times of the Brian Poles era. Now that he's on an extension, he has to also start cleaning up some of
the cap hits that he created. Absolutely. So these are his guys that he's having to part with. And I think
that that's a big part of this as well. Number one, I was always of the impression. And this is a
lesson that Dave Wonstadt taught us
that whenever a new head coach
comes in, other regimes
in the NFL would pay attention
because they would want to see, could that
free up somebody who has talent who just maybe
isn't a fit for that particular
scheme? And that always led
me to wonder about some of the existing guys
who he knew. There would be some tough decisions
made. They just weren't made in the first part.
They weren't made in that first season.
But I think with Ben Johnson's
scheme, you knew that probably
some of these good players,
might not be the ones who were ultimately a fit for what Ben Johnson wanted to do.
And we now see either because of cap, depth, maybe how you view your offense,
maybe because of just the structure of your contract,
we're starting to see now I think that new staff decide who they think is valuable
and who they think is somebody who can, if they're gone, would that help the team more?
They're starting to really put their thumbprint, their identity on the team.
and Ben Johnson got to do more of that last year than Dennis Allen did.
But now he's got to do the replacement parts.
I guess that's where I'll start in terms of who's next.
And I would start with that center position for people.
I don't know if you mentioned it yet,
but Tyler Beattish, the center,
who a lot of people were thinking about is the consolation prize to Tyler Linderbaum,
to the Chargers, three years and $30 million, take him off the board.
Linderbom's still in play.
he would command between $20 and $25 million per year,
maybe a four-year, $80 million deal, something like that.
So it would be a huge, big deal,
but we know that that's a legitimate, excellent product.
I remember him at the Combine a few years ago
and kind of being like small guy.
Like you don't think of offensive linemen,
but the smaller, quicker, more athletic type of offensive of linemen,
who obviously would be great.
here. You have Connor McGovern as well. If Buffalo indeed does decide to let him go and all
signs point towards that. Connor McGovern was a pro bowler in 2024. The guy's 28 years old,
has started 49 games over three years in Buffalo, plays guard too. It played an entire season
at Guard as well. So that is not a bad product either. But that's where I start, Leila.
I start with that center position. Get that right. Don't mess with it because at the end of the day,
with all that we're talking about,
it's still Caleb Williams, right?
It's still about making sure
that this rising quarterback
is completely comfortable again
because he is the guy who can help you play through any of the holes
that you might have on your team
if he turns out to be a great quarterback.
That's it.
When you have confidence in your head coach
and you have built trust in your quarterback,
Brian Pohl says he still wants to see some more
before he wants to extend him.
Because he should.
I get that completely.
But when that's there,
it makes everything else look more comfortably fluid.
And when you understand that, I think that that helps you fill in the gaps a little bit easier.
So Brad Biggs brought up a name when he was on Mullian Hall this morning as to who could possibly be next.
And it by priority has become center, number one.
That's mine.
But Brad Biggs, as we know, is plugged in.
And he also brought up who could be next for the Bears acquiring.
Focus has been in the trenches, which is a good thing.
right. Left tackle, center, edge. You guys could probably have full phone lines until Monday
regarding Max Crosby. Let's talk a little bit about defensive tackle, which is something that
isn't as sexy, is certainly not gotten nearly as much attention. I think some people
are almost outright ignoring it. They were 27th in the league against the run last year.
they've got two defensive tackles under contract right now,
Jervon Dexter and Grady Jarrett.
Somehow, some way, before the draft,
I think they've got to supplement that position.
I believe, you know,
if they don't get kind of a named player there,
it's going to have to be a consideration for a high pick in the draft
because they need more depth there on the interior of the defensive line.
and they need improved production as well.
And I realize that steers the conversation,
at least briefly away from Max and Tyler Linderbaum and whatever else.
But just look at the depth chart of guys that are being paid right now for 2026
and think about defensive tackle a little bit.
So, Brad, in strongly advising us not to ignore the defensive tackle position,
are you actively encouraging us to ignore the pursuit of Max Crosby or Tyler Linderbom?
for the Bears. Do you think either one of those
or both are unrealistic? Do you
think that's a fool's errand
to keep an eye on that
situation and keep refreshing Twitter
all day to find out if there's any kind of move?
No, I don't.
I think the Bears should
stay involved on everything.
Be aware of everything.
Keep an eye at what's the price?
Where is the market at?
And I don't know that anybody
can answer that clearly
at this point. I'm just pointing out
that defensive tackle hasn't gotten a lot of conversation.
And I wouldn't be surprised if that's one among the first couple moves they make
when things can get rolling next week is bringing in a defensive tackle.
I'm curious and I don't have any intel, but what is their evaluation of Jonathan Allen, right?
who is going to be, has either already been released by the Vikings
or has been told he will be released by the Vikings.
I believe that's a situation where he's got guaranteed money on the books for this season
that Minnesota will owe him.
So there's at least some offset potentially involved there.
Listen, does he solve your situation deep into the future?
No.
Is he a pretty good pro?
Yes. But again, I don't know what their evaluation at Allen is, but I do know they've got to get better there.
Brad Biggs on the score with Mullian Haw here on Rehemi Harrison Grotie.
He said and I thought there was another thought there.
It was very empty feeling.
Yeah. Brad Biggs leaving me on a cliffhanger.
But I highly recommend you go back and listen to what Brad Biggs had to say to our morning show, Mully and Ha.
You can do that on the rewind feature on our Odyssey app.
In the meantime, Jonathan Allen's.
is one of many players the Vikings may have to part with.
And yes, the report is that they are going to have to because they're still, as of like right now,
and this is over the cap, updating their salary cap space every day from what I can tell.
So according to over the cap now, the bears are $8.1 million under.
God, isn't that nice?
You'd think it would be more.
Is it wrong?
No, you're right, especially after the $45 million savings recently.
And the DJ Moore move only freed up 16 and a half.
Keep it common.
Keep it coming.
According to everybody who works on that.
So over the cap, that was their figure.
The Vikings, though, are still in salary cap.
Hell.
Ha!
46.675 million over the cap.
The Cowboys have somehow managed to get under the cap,
but I think it's because Dak Prescott's contract goes into like 2097.
I joke about it.
But no, they did restructure it and that freed up $47 million or something wild.
it was two players including DAC.
So that made it make sense.
But the Vikings are now number one with a bullet at 46.6.75 over.
So Jonathan Allen may be somebody who is going to,
not only is he going to part ways with the Vikings,
but that's an excellent question is,
is he somebody who the bears would look into
when it comes to a possibility at defensive tackle?
I still maintain perhaps stupidly, Mark,
this is an excellent class for defensive lineman in the draft.
Could you get somebody in the draft that would make it easier?
Knowing you signed Montess Wet to that big deal,
knowing you signed Grady Jared and Dio O'Danebo to big contracts as well,
they say it's a very rich class.
If you look at the mock drafts,
there's enough there to think there could be somebody for the Bears at 25.
Yeah, that's possible.
I do like the sure thing veteran.
Jonathan Allen right now, 31 years old, three and a half sacks last year,
68 total tackles, seven tackles for loss, 11 quarterback hits.
I said the three and a half sacks as well.
This is still a really good product.
It's hilarious.
I mean, he signed a three-year, $60 million deal with the Minnesota Vikings on March 11, 2025.
Yeah, and now they cannot afford him anymore.
So I would tend towards the assurity of the position, a veteran, then the draft, you know, and some of the research that I have done.
And I know what you said.
Like, I've been hearing the same thing, that that defensive edge and defensive lineman pretty good draft this year.
But there's been good drafts in the past 10 years for those positions.
And I went through all the defensive ends, all the defensive linemen over the last 10 years.
There's just not a ton of hits in the 20s from 10.
20 to 32.
Like there's not a lot of guys that you could look at.
And at some point in time, we will go through this.
Yeah, you did a lot of research on this.
You put a lot of time into it.
It's Evergreens, which means we could do it any time before the April draft,
and we will eventually, but I can just tell you off the top of my head,
there are not a lot of hits that have occurred over the past years.
And this could be the extraordinary year.
This could be the exception to the rule.
Everybody could be right that this is the strongest draft, and I could be wrong.
But in my research, there has not been a ton of,
of value from 20 to 32 for defensive line and defensive edge over the last decade.
But also, do you think that the Bears thought they were getting their version of Jonathan
Allen when they signed Grady Jarrett?
Or when they...
Their version.
Yeah, you're right.
You're right.
And to a much different degree to Shamar Turner.
They did trap Shamar Turner.
That was a second round pick last year.
They've already moved from tackle to end.
Right, which is fine.
So you have, I mean, and that's part of it too.
The bears, we talked about it, Dio Dangbo.
They're depending on some of the guys that they either put assets into or paid money to to be better and start to sprout and be more productive with the team.
We've also got some NFL news, some buzz, some rumors headed our way about our favorite non-bear.
So we'll let you know about those coming up next.

as well. So let's do some of the buzz. Let's talk about some of the buzz surrounding our favorite
non- bears that we talk about. Non- bears. Non- bears. And then also, I think we need to get into
part of the timeline regarding DJ Moore. Dave Wanstead may have closed a gap for us on a question
we had during the season. So we'll do that next.
Rahimi Harris and Grootie. Midday's 10-2 on Chicago Sports Radio 12. Did you need a game like that?
Did I need a game?
Yeah.
For what?
Just in terms of all of us talking about the lack of targets that you've had relative the past years?
I mean, if you say so, will it shut you all up?
Perhaps.
It ain't going to shut y'all up.
I mean, it felt good.
Always good to score at home, especially twice, and this time I'm not going to get fun.
So, I'm good.
Hold on.
Who in there said not likely in the background?
Was that Chris Emma?
Did you hear that?
That doesn't sound like an Emma thing.
Do you need a game like that?
Did I need a game?
Yeah.
For what?
Just in terms of all of us talking about the lack of targets that you've had relative
the past years?
I mean, if you say so, will it shut you all up?
Perhaps.
It ain't going to shut y'all up.
Leisure.
Leisure.
Yeah.
They have similar voice.
Yeah.
On second listen, that is leisure.
Absolutely.
By the way, I was right.
He needed it because the two previous games,
somebody can go back and look, but that's what we were all like,
where's the targets?
Where's D? Where are you at?
What's going on?
So, you know.
Well, that's it.
Is that you started to see, like,
Olin says the phrase,
the tape will tell you.
And I believe he is correct when it comes to the tape will tell you.
So during the season, when we saw, for example,
that on the 16th of November,
DJ Moore was targeted a mere three times against the Vikings.
In a 19 to 17 win,
you're asking yourself,
what's happening here?
Why isn't he being seen more?
There's a lot of ball to go around.
The yards in 2025 for the regular season for the Bears
showed you a lot of ball went around to a lot of people.
That's how it should be.
The Ben Johnson Playbook schemes a lot of people open.
It's good.
It's good that you have the conversation that naturally there's a lot of people.
You can go to many different people on a play, how it should be.
But that was the red flag for a lot of us, I think, when we realized how few times DJ Moore
was being targeted, the game before that against a Giants team with a terrible defense,
24-20 win, and DJ Moore was only targeted four times.
And that's when you start to understand and ask the question, is he a fit for this offense?
So keep that in mind
when you listen to what Dave Wonstadt said
to Spiegel and Holmes yesterday.
I thought that DJ Moore
would have had the possibility
of being traded before the trade deadline
during the middle of the season.
And, you know, when you trade a player,
and this is a heck of a deal by Ryan Poles,
because any player can be traded.
But the key is, what are you going to get in return?
Are you getting real value back
for what he's worth.
And to get a second round pick,
and I know they've got to give up a fifth or something,
but you're getting a second round pick.
You are getting a starter.
Okay, so you're trading a starter away,
and you're getting one.
And I think that Ben Johnson has proven
that he will throw the ball to the open guy.
You know, I mean, all you can do is look at last year
with, you know, with Colson being our top receiver,
the confidence that we had in him.
And then obviously Luther Burton, there was no hesitation about him
and throwing the ball.
How about Walker?
We were all scrambling.
When he catches that touchdown pass to beat the Packers,
we were all reaching for our depth chart to find out who the guy was.
So the point that I'm making is that this is not a coaching staff or a head coach
that says, I'm only going to throw the ball to my pro bowl receiver.
And we're going to move him around.
We're going to force feed him the ball.
That's not the philosophy here.
So I really like it.
Here's a part of this.
So I mentioned that was on the 16th that DJ had only three targets against Minnesota.
The 9th he had four.
The trade deadline was on November 4th.
So that would have been after the trade deadline.
But when Coach Wanstead says that, there's probably a reason.
Yeah, he might have some background on that.
You know, he might be talking to people.
might have had some indication.
And it's possible that the bears were trying to trade DJ Moore at the trade deadline.
And they couldn't get what they wanted.
They couldn't get that second round pick.
Maybe they were offered the mid-round pick, which was initially reported yesterday for DJ Moore.
So, yeah, I could see where there's a little bit of smoke right there.
But, man, think about the butterfly effect, I guess, as they say, if he had not been.
with the Bears towards the end of the season.
Do they still win the Green Bay game?
Do they, does something different happen against the Rams because of that final play?
Is Caleb Williams more appropriately checking down in that spot?
Who's running the route right there?
So it's interesting to think about what would have happened in this season if DJ Moore had been traded in season.
Right.
And DJ Moore couldn't target himself.
That's the part I always want to reiterate.
Right. DJ Moore has to depend on somebody else throwing him the ball.
And after that, I think we started to see him scheme differently.
We started to see him be available on the perimeters more because Caleb Williams had to roll out.
We know that Caleb Williams rolled out to his right often.
There were plays where you could see a defined run across the formation type of role for DJ because he's a good runner.
That led to him being open more.
But I'm going to offer you this thought as well.
If the bills hadn't lost in a very emotional way to the Jaguar,
or beaten the Jaguars, but then lost in a very emotional way in their next game,
you know, would that be something that would stick with them?
You know, when you think about that 33 to 30 overtime loss to the Broncos
where guys are tearing up in the locker room.
And frankly, yeah, the three-point game against the Jaguars, that was not cut and dried.
But if they hadn't had that emotional loss, you know,
would they be in the position that they were in where they may have upped the value,
of getting a receiver who Josh Allen could trust more in a game.
Well, they can't mess around in Buffalo.
And, of course, they've taken a lot of swings at veteran receivers.
And they just have to keep on doing it because you have the quarterback.
You can't waste it.
And they've gotten, obviously, the Buffalo Bills have gotten very close to the Super Bowl and winning a Super Bowl.
So they've got to keep taking swings no matter what it is.
I was on Buffalo Radio today.
And I got the feeling from the two hosts that at least that show.
that I was on today, they weren't completely sold on the deal.
They weren't completely, they were looking for me to sell DJ Moore to them.
And as they said, after I got off the air with them, they feel a little bit better about
DJ Moore now, but they weren't completely sold on it.
I think it's a really, honestly, I'm not just saying this, I think it's a really good deal
on the surface for both teams.
You couldn't have asked for more than a second round pick for the bear.
That is perfect.
The Bears got the right draft pick.
and they don't know it yet in Buffalo because they're just looking at it from a distance.
That's going to be a good connection, Josh Allen and DJ Moore.
DJ Moore with a veteran, great quarterback.
Seems like the quintessential fit for that player.
No funny stuff.
No development.
No rolling of the eyes.
No crazy coach.
He's got his old offensive coordinator there.
That's going to be a comfortable place for DJ Moore.
He might be headed for his most productive years of his career, I think,
Buffalo. I agree with you. And after eight NFL seasons, that's pretty impressive.
It is. He's reunited with his former offensive coordinator. It's huge.
Who's now the head coach. And he loves him. I mean, he's on tape before this, raving about the
creativity of him. Yeah, and I think that's important. And him is Joe Brady, by the way.
Yeah, Joe Brady. And I think it's important to point out it's about fits a lot of the time.
You can be a talented player. And if you're not in the system that puts you
at your best 100% self.
What's the value going to be?
So I think that that's something
where perhaps we're looking at his value differently
because he wasn't the same once
the Bears had a lot more options.
But that's also because maybe the offense changed enough
to where it was just not going to be the same for him.
It's okay. Both can be true.
But I think that for Josh Allen, this is a great deal.
And I understand why, because it's a second round pick
that Buffalo gave up,
why they think because of the salary as well, why fans think it might have been an overpay.
But based on how Joe Brady values him, I think that that's really kind of the intangible in all of this.
Absolutely.
And then what you're saying about DJ Moore and spreading the ball out, which, as you said correctly, is a good thing.
You want lots again.
The Bears had three receivers this year who had 600 yards or more.
Colston Lovellum was the only one over 700 yards.
It has been my theory.
And I said it here.
I said it on our late-night recording of Take the North last night.
There is a natural thing that occurs when you have the new quarterback, you had the new
wide receiver in Roma Dunes-A, you add Luther Bird and Colson-11.
This is the, that's the new class coming in, you know?
And it's not like they're avoiding DJ more, but it would make sense on the surface to really
highlight the young guys that you know are going to be around for the next five years or so,
ideally, to grow with those guys.
or there may have been, I don't even know if this is the right word,
some favoritism towards those younger guys over DJ Moore
because Caleb wanted to grow with those guys.
Well, and you know what?
Opposing teams are going to key in on your blankies,
and they're going to try to prevent you from throwing to them.
Your blankies.
So it's one thing for us to talk about it.
Ben Johnson used that phrase for Rome.
He called him his blankie.
I guess he did, didn't he?
I was giving you full credit for that.
No, that is definitely Ben Johnson.
I have used that phrase for wide receivers before.
But he called him as Blanky.
So I'm just picking up where head coach left talk.
This is Blanky.
Oh, yeah.
See?
I can't possibly remember everything Ben Johnson says.
I know.
It was just, it was cute.
And I also call receivers blinkies sometimes.
That's adorbs.
That is adorable.
I had a pillowcase growing up instead of a Blanky.
Aw.
When you were just a baby?
Yes.
And apparently I told my mother in some sort of informative discussion that when I had lost it,
I had deduced to have gone to the moon.
what that it hit oh you did you like that that was my that was my rational assumption did you
were you comfortable with that?
I guess I don't know as long as it's on the moon and nobody else has it I'm good with it if nobody
else can have him then it's okay I would not have traded him to the bills that that would have
been the case I like that for like tears of receivers if they're good it's your blankie if
they're like kind of mid then that's your pillowcase who would you guys say who was his
blankie who was Caleb Williams's number one blankie this year and and running back
I sarcastically offered a Lamede Zakias.
There was a short brief period where he was catching passes.
That little window he caught passes for a couple games.
Low key.
Ready for this?
The first drive of the Vikings game.
Drew Dalman.
That was his blankie.
No.
I know.
Why do you have to do that?
Because I want to create drama.
You are.
You're pot stirring right now.
That's right.
Hey, an update on Max Crosby because we do this.
The Cowboys and the Ravens, according to our friend James Palmer, are two of the teams
who come up the most when asking around.
they're also both aware of one another.
I'd say so.
They're also both aware that there are other teams to varying degrees,
specifically to others.
Well, well, well, do we have a mystery team situation percolating?
I hate mystery teams, man.
Bears.
Also, this according to NFL Fox Sports, NFL and Fox,
the Raiders are releasing Gino Smith per multiple reports.
Wow.
Okay.
the fall, the rise, the fall of Gino Smith.
Yeah.
Wait, rise, college, fall, early jets.
Rise.
Seahawks.
Seahawks, fall.
Boy, the Gino Smith career.
I'd read his book.
I would too, actually.
Coming up next year on Rahimi Harrison Grady,
do we have a psychic among us?
You might be surprised at who it is.
Next.
Lela Rahimi, Marshal Harris.
Mark Grody, Rahimi Harrison Grody on 1043 The Score.
This is Rahimi Harrison Grody on 1043 The Score.
And you know, first there was psychic Steve Stone.
You remember psychic Steve Stone.
He was calling everything and anything.
He still does indeed.
I was going to say, does it, still does it.
Yes.
And with the advent of baseball coming back,
Steve Stone will get the chance to be psychic yet again.
I love Steve Stone.
We all do.
So shout out to Stoney.
Shout out to psychic Steve Stone.
There's a slider that didn't slide.
That also happens in life.
We may have somebody joining the ranks, though.
Clay Harbor makes a lot of predictions.
He talks about a lot of possibilities every day,
both here on Rahimi Harrison Grotie and Mullen Hall,
but also on the Big Pro Football Show on CHSN.
Listen to his calls in January with us
on what he thought the top three moves
the Bears needed to make in the offseason were.
The first one is we're getting out our scissors.
You know why we're getting on our scissors?
We're cutting somebody.
Snip, snip.
Okay, this guy's guarantees are done.
Tramaine Edmins.
I'm not saying I dislike him as a player.
I'm not saying he is a bad football player.
Tremade Edmins.
But what Tremaine Edmonds is,
third highest paid off-ball linebacker in the National Football League.
Off-ball.
Right?
He's 37th and overall grade.
55th in coverage grade.
29th and mistackle percentage, 45th and catch percentage allowed.
Everything you look at when I watch his tape, I think he's fine.
But is he that much better than a guy you can get for half the price?
No.
So my thought process here is if you cut him, you can sign a guy that can do his job for less.
You're over the cap already.
You need some other positions, maybe a little bit more.
You still got T.J. Edwards, hopefully coming back healthy.
So, Tremaine Edmonds, Marshall, Grody, getting cut.
Number two, trade somebody.
We're going to trade DJ more.
What's?
Okay?
Okay.
I love, like I said, I love big play DJ.
I think he's excellent the way he goes out there and gives everything.
I know there's been a lot of speculation at last play, whatever.
This guy did a good job of buying into the system.
He is the 13th highest paid wide receiver.
He's making $28 million a year.
year. He was 50th in NFL in receiving yards, 26 and TDs, 25th in pass rating when targeted.
To me, you can find another receiver that can contribute for a lot less money than what you're
paying DJ Moore. And right now, DJ Moore, arguably, you got Roma Dunzei, Luther
Burden coming on strong. Look at the end of season. Luther Burton, Colston Loveland,
Cole Commette still under contract. You got all these players. I'm not saying DJ's a bad player.
You're over the cap.
I think you need help in some other positions.
You've got some playmakers of wide receiver.
You can sign another guy to back Rome and Luther and Colston and these guys up.
But DJ, if you trade him, you get off the books.
Post June 2nd, you get off the books for his salary.
You're probably not going to get much.
It's kind of like the Amari Cooper deal when they traded him.
He got like a fourth round pick.
And everybody's like, wait, Amari Cooper with a fourth round pick?
They got away from $20-something million.
So Marshall, Grody, Tray, DJ Moore, I think the Bears should sign.
Trey Hendrickson, right? Former teammate of mine, former teammate of Dennis Allen.
He was there when I was in New Orleans when we drafted this guy.
So was Dennis Allen.
Trey Hendrickson.
He's a hard worker.
You go back to 2024.
He led the league in sacks, fourth and hits, fourth in hurries.
Last year, only played in seven games, had a hip issue.
fifth in pass rush grade when he played,
fifth and pass rush win percentage when he played,
ninth in pressure percentage when he played.
I go back and watch a tape, he's still got it.
He's got a quick first step.
He's still strong.
He's still physical.
He is still master's level pass rusher, right?
Some of these guys are playing checkers.
He's playing chess.
What I want to make sure, medical's check out,
you bring him in on the free agent visit.
everything looks good.
You say his hips okay?
This guy can still play some ball.
Give him a look.
What the hell?
Well, so does this mean that Trey Hendrickson is coming to the Bears?
Okay, so to reiterate, that was Clay in January.
Clay Harbor.
So he hits on not one but two things.
And I get that the Tremaine Edmund's concept was probably staring everybody in the face.
Yeah, that was out there.
However, T.J. Edwards is hurt. He broke his leg. That's a problem. No, Sue has an Achilles. And T.J. Edwards was still your most productive linebacker with 112 tackles in the regular season despite missing four games. So it wasn't like it was so cut and dried. But the money is the money. And what is by number one rule? You follow the money. And that's exactly what Clay did. But snip, snip. Clay called it.
I was just looking at the latest like Trey Hendrickson rumors or writings.
And there are, according to CBS Sports, an article that was from a couple of hours ago,
the three top suitors right now or likely candidates would be the 49ers, the Patriots, and the Titans.
I don't see the bears on this particular story.
But if we're going to
We're going to praise Clay Harbor
for being a psychic,
which he might be,
then Trey Hendrickson is coming to the Bears.
Let's play battleship with Clay Harbor.
That is the one true way to test if somebody is psychic.
Sink is battleship?
Mm-hmm.
Mm-hmm.
Explain that one to me.
Well, because you have to guess coordinates.
Oh.
Yeah.
I don't know my battleship rules.
I think you'll enjoy it as a test of psychic powers.
Okay.
We also want to tell people
that our thoughts right now are with our friend Kevin Harlan and also Brian Harlan because their father
passed away at the age of 89. The news came down yesterday. The former Packers president,
Hall of Famer Bob Harlan, died at the age of 89. And Bob was a long time part of the Packers organization,
as we know. He also, I think, helped shape a lot of the NFL and his influence. I think his legacy
through his family is part of what we celebrate on this station. It's part of what we celebrate
in Chicago sports when it comes to how his family has affected Chicago sports here in town,
some of the personalities we know and love, and also Kevin as well, and what he's meant
just being able to converse with him and have fun with him and have his calls be a part of our lives.
And Brian Harlan, too, who used to work for the Bears now is an agent who a lot of people
around here in this city are very familiar with. So sympathies to both of the Harlan brothers.
Yes, Brian Harlan has an impact on Chicago sports and Chicago Sports Media in a way that goes beyond our greatest comprehension.
And my thoughts are with them, of course, and prayers to them and their family for losing their father.
So I just wanted to pass that along.
And we also have some audio that we wanted to play, talking about the bears being on the verge of embarking on the search for a new head coach to replace Matt Eberflus.
And Kevin Harlan joined the score and talked about.
the importance of finding the right general manager and trusting him.
Boy, getting that right, the general manager and the coach.
You know, my dad was up in Green Bay and was looking around.
He went around the league, and he talked to Ernie O'Corsi,
and he talked to George Young with the Giants.
He talked to guys he respected, and he only had about four or five people that he really
quizzed, but he went to the power brokers in the league and asked, you know,
So in their mind, who were the right general manager types?
Because when you get the general manager, you give him the keys.
And you say, here it is.
You've got total authority and go out and get the head coach that you want.
And we will ask no questions.
You've got carte blanche.
So getting the general manager right is step one.
And then you get the coach.
And in the case up in Green Bay, they got Ron Wolf,
and then they got Mike Holmgren, because Wolf had total authority.
When Ron Wolf wanted to trade for Brett Farr, he went to that executive committee
and was met with a lot of, uh-uh, no way.
We're not trading in number one for the backup at Atlanta, who's been playing for Jerry Glantzel.
We're not doing it.
And my dad had to take Ron Wolf out of that room, and he approached the executive committee
and said, we gave him the keys to the football organization.
We cannot back out right now.
We have not had anybody with a hand on the rudder for that long.
And they change their mind.
They trade for far.
The rest is history.
They've had 20 plus years of success.
And that's really what it takes.
You need to give your general manager total football authority.
But finding that guy and trusting in what he's going to do becomes step one.
And then step two, everything falls into place.
Just compelling, as usual from Kevin Harlan, and those asides, I think,
really tie us a lot about football even when he was just sharing his experience of stories that
his father told him.
Just made me wish the Bears would have been running their organization in a similar fashion.
It just brought back memories of Brett Farm.
It made me remember that the Bears went a long time without even having a general manager.
Well, and thank you again to Kevin for always joining our show.
And as we mentioned, his brother, Brian, is a major figure in Chicago sports.
And just know our thoughts are with you and also your family because this is a great loss.
So thank you so much for being a part of this.
Thank you for being a part of our station to those, both Kevin and Brian.
And our thoughts are with you in the passing of your father, Bob Harlan, passing away at the age of 89.

it's like the 100 guys in a bar series.
But 100 guys in the bar are all screaming the same thing.
They usually means that they're on to something, even if it's 100 guys at a bar.
Like, that's what I think about this with Colston Lovell.
And so snap counts go up.
Johnsey, it is that time for another high draft pick, Luther Bird it.

Chicago Adam Trayneh Edmonds is gone
Drew Dalman is gone
DG Moore is gone
how are you with all of this information
I think the bears are operating like a
contending team that
has to make tough decisions. You know, I think you, when you look at Tremaine Edmonds, this one was
pretty predictable, I thought from the start. You just look at an aging linebacker who's making a lot
of money and, you know, you can clear some of that from your books by going cheaper. And I think
there's some other options out there, some with ties to Dennis Allen and Ben Johnson that you could
look at. And then I think with DJ Moore, you know, this is a result of drafting best player
available. And that's what I think smart teams do. And a lot of teams say they do it and then they
don't really do it. But when we went into the draft last year, I don't think many of us thought
that the two, you know, the first two picks would be Colson Loveland and Luther Burden.
But they were. And that gave the Ben Johnson a bunch of weapons to work with. And
I think that that all of a sudden made DJ more expendable when you looked at the fact that
they could save $16.7 million against the cap by moving him. I thought the question there was
what they could actually get for them.
And the Buffalo bill showed that you can get quite a, quite a lot for him.
Because I was not, even when we found out about the trade yesterday, I was not expecting
the second round pick to come back for DJ Moore.
So, you know, these are decisions and situations you get in once you start getting into
a contending window.
And I don't think you can fault the bears for anything that they've done so far.
The curb ball, of course, was Drew Dalman retiring.
And that's, you know, sort of the thing that they're navigating to try to create some extra
room to address that problem. I too was very pleased with the second rounder. Take that and run
and make the deal. That is perfect. Does it please you? It pleases me greatly. What? I was on Buffalo
Radio today, Hogue, and they were kind of like in, you got to sell us on DJ Moore. They're
just a little bit skeptical. How do you characterize his legacy with the Bears and just DJ
Moore the player? You know, I think DJ Moore is a really good player. And
And I think, you know, I go back with him all the way to when I was still doing sidelines for Northwestern.
And I covered a game where we were at Maryland and DJ went off in that game.
I don't remember the numbers off the top of his head.
But I think it was like three touchdowns and over 200 yards receiving.
I always thought he was underrated even coming out.
And I think that, you know, he's a very valuable player if you put him in the right position.
Is he a true number one dominant wide receiver?
No, because you got to manufacture some touches for him.
He's very good with the ball once it's in his hands,
and I think he's got some sneaky ability to blow the top off the defense too.
But some of those intermediate routes, you know,
I always wish sometimes that he would be the guy in the slot
that would run some of those option routes,
and that's just apparently not really his game.
And so I think that does limit him in his route tree just a little bit.
but I love the fit for him in Buffalo.
I really do.
I think that he's exactly what the bills have been lacking at times.
He's not going to be a problem there.
I also feel really happy for him that he's not going to a place like the Raiders
where he was going to start over with a rookie quarterback once again.
He gets to go play with one of the best in Josh Allen.
So I think it's a really good fit for DJ Moore.
I think it's a really good fit for that offense.
Joe Brady, who's had DJ Moore in the past two.
I think that's a very relevant note.
when it comes to that fit.
$24.5 million cap hit, though?
I mean, that's the part I'm still kind of struggling with
that if I was in Buffalo, you know, trying to digest this trade.
I think that's the part with this contract that is a little hard to swallow.
And I know part of the deal, too, extra money became guaranteed.
I think, what, going into 2028 now.
So, you know, you're locked in for about two and a half years there
in terms of cap space.
And I have a feeling he'll be a really good place.
player for the bills, but one that they're still feeling uneasy about, you know, is he worth
what he's taking up in the cap up there in Buffalo? Well, and we brought up the playoffs,
Adam, when it came to the bill side of this, they only beat the Jaguars by three. They had to
come back in that game. And then there was the emotional overtime loss to the Broncos where
you've got players tearing up in the locker room afterward and how much that must have sat with them
knowing they've got a lot of cracks at this. And they haven't
gotten as close as they wanted.
And perhaps this was a trade that truly because of the value in the second rounder coming
back may have satisfied all parties.
Yeah.
And I think we're going to find out a lot about Joe Brady here really quickly.
You know, it was a fascinating, very risky move that they made.
Because with all that emotion that you're talking about, Leila, I mean, to let Sean McDermick go,
I talked to some coaches down in Indy last week that are still like flabbergasted by that move
and just feel like, you know, he deserved better.
At the same time, I can also see why the bills are like, look, we can't just keep running this back and wasting opportunities here with one of the best quarterbacks in the league in his prime.
So give him an offensive head coach, give him a few more weapons.
And like I said, I think DJ is going to be a really good fit.
I always like watching the bills to begin with.
I'm selfishly happy that they're kind of going down this road just from an entertainment standpoint because I think the bills are going to be one of the more interesting teams in the league.
next season.
We also have some news
regarding a former
Illini.
I and I.
Thank you.
New England reached agreement today.
You had to, Adam.
You had to.
According to Adam Schaefter guys,
New England reached
agreement today with quarterback Tommy DeVito
on a two-year
seven and a half million dollar
deal, 7.4.
That includes two million dollars
guaranteed per his agent,
Sean Stalado, who got a lot of FaceTime
whenever Tommy DeVito broke out onto the scene for New York, if you recall.
So I guess Tyson Bayesian is safe then.
I guess.
But is he?
I mean, fair question.
What do you think, Adam?
You know, I think the Bears are handling this properly with Bayesian.
You know, I think he has value out there.
But if you were the Bears, he's still got a lot of value to you as well, like to this team.
And so you don't give them away for nothing.
I'm holding firm on the idea that if you can get a second round pick for Tyson, Bejit,
I would make that move.
But anything less than that.
Backup quarterbacks are too important.
And I also think that Bejant, this is more my own personal opinion on him as a quarterback.
You know, there's backups that you can survive with for like a month if they have to play in a pinch.
but otherwise if it's more than that,
your season's probably over anyway.
Then there's backups.
But then there's backups like Nick Foles who,
you know, with the Eagles that actually I feel like
you can win some playoff games with.
And I got to say, like with what I've seen from Bejant
and the fit with Ben Johnson,
I lean more towards Bejant being that,
you know, that second option I brought up,
which I don't know if catastrophe struck
the quarterback position, which we none of us ever want to talk about, right?
But you've got to be prepared for it if you're Ryan Poles and Ben Johnson,
that the season would be over with Bejant going out there.
I think you would still have a chance.
I mean, obviously your chances go down, but I think you'd have a chance.
Whereas if you move on from Bejan and you're running somebody else out there,
more than likely, you know, your season would be over in that situation.
You'd be looking at more like a guy who could just squeeze out a few games with and survive with.
So I think that's the value that Bayesian has for you.
And by the way, the other part of this, I don't know that we talk enough about it.
I don't think Tyson Bayesian really wants to go anywhere.
Now, if it's a perfect fit where he knows he can start and, you know,
be in a good position to have success, great.
But I don't, if you're Tyson-Bajun, you want to spend one more year with Ben Johnson
increasing your value, learning more about the game of football with one of the best
offensive minds and getting better at the position, or do you want to go waste away in New York
with a defensive head coach, you know, in Aaron Glenn and the team.
Jets. I think that's a no-brainer
if you're Tyson-Bajant to stay in Chicago. So I think
that's part of this too. His bro-dad, Ben Johnson?
Yeah. Well, and I would say, guys, I would say
before Ben Johnson, I would not have agreed
with what you're indicating, Adam, and that is that the bears
could still be sustainable if they were to lose
Caleb Williams just because of the arm strength and
too many balls that were floated down the middle
that I saw from Tyson-Bagent, where I was like, too many
what felt like jump balls for everybody,
but with Ben Johnson, that definitely changes the trajectory a little bit.
As we talked to Adam Hogue here of CHGO and of Hogan Johns on Rahimi, Harrison Grotty on the score.
So, Hogue, here we are with the bears having suddenly cap space and about $45 million in cap space.
My question to you is we all know the big players, the big splash guys out there.
What splash or splash is do you think a real,
realistic to think that the bears are going to make.
Do they have to like, is there only going to be one splash at one position and the rest
is sort of fill in with the rank and file players out there?
Well, first of all, I'm already on record saying it is possible to do the double
splash with Tyler Linderbaum and Max Crosby.
And, you know, I think now that once you saw the move last night with Tremens
and you realize how much cap space they had created with just a few moves,
you kind of realize how flexible this thing can be.
Now, I'm not saying that's what's going.
happen. I'm just saying it can happen. You can make that work. I would tend to believe that
only one of those moves would happen. And then the smaller ones would be like, you know, say,
signing like an Alex Anzolone at linebacker to replace Tremaine Edmonds, who's a, you know,
an older veteran, but has ties to both Dennis Allen in New Orleans and also Ben Johnson in Detroit.
Like that's a name I would keep an eye on, you know, just as a cheaper option at linebacker.
But let's follow some breadcrumbs here. Let's like, let's back.
up a year, right? So Ben Johnson comes in here. And what first thing that they do that they
address right away is the interior of that offensive line. They go out and they, they trade for
the best, in my opinion, the best guard in the game in Joe Tunney, right? Then they go get a guy
that Ben Johnson was very familiar with and Jonah Jackson was probably underrated and he delivered
this year. Then they went out and they signed the number one center on the free agent market
and Drew Dolman. And we have a ton of evidence that we just witnessed.
in a really fun football season
of how much of a difference that made for the Chicago Bears
and how much their identity changed afront,
how much all of that mattered.
And then, stunningly, Drew Dalman retires the other day.
So in following these breadcrumbs,
and I would also throw in what happened in Detroit this past year, right?
Not only do they lose Ben Johnson,
but they lose Frank Ragnow.
They try to go younger at their guard positions.
And statistically, if you're just to pull up the lion's offensive stats,
it doesn't look like they took that big of a,
dip losing Ben Johnson. You turn it on the tape, you watch their actual season, and you realize
they lost a lot of that physicality and that identity and crucial moments of football games,
which is why they missed the playoffs. So adding all that up, I'll ask you guys this. Do you think
they're going to go cheap at center? They can't. I, are you kidding? The first thing I thought
when they traded DJ Moore was that they were going to get Tyler Linderbom. Yeah, that's me wish
casting. I'm okay with it. They also did their homework on Tyler.
Biotish the other day, he signed with a different team. Like, I'm just adding all this up,
trying to use my own logic and covering this football team, you know, especially in the past year,
but even beyond that. And I just, I'm not saying they're going to get Tyler Linderbaum,
because he's a free agent. He can sign with whoever he wants, right? But I'll be shocked if
they don't make a big run at him. And by the way, if you're Tyler Linderbaum and you're looking at
your options out there, aren't the Bears pretty appealing right now? Isn't this offensive line and
Caleb Williams and playing for Ben Johnson.
If you're leaving the Baltimore Ravens,
which has been a great place to be drafted and developed and play,
a very physical brand of football, they play.
And you're saying, oh, I hit free agency.
They didn't give me my fifth year option.
I have the, what are your options out there?
To me, the Bears in this offense would make a lot of sense.
So that's just me following the breadcrumbs with all of this going on.
I certainly won't be surprised if they spend big on Tyler Linderbaum,
even though it's going to be more expensive than Drew Dolman.
And I also think he's slightly better than Drew Dalman, too.
So he could be an upgrade.
I mean, he's more mobile.
You know, that's always kind of been a signature of his as well.
Adam, I would like to point this out that we followed up a conversation with you to our listeners where Marshall Harris had talked to you about breadcrumbing.
Do you remember that from a couple weeks ago?
The concept of breadcrumming, different from following the breadcrumbs.
And then I pointed out that Adam Hogue would never breadcrum somebody.
You wouldn't do that.
But then I...
But then I just did.
No, you followed breadcrumbs.
It's a different deal entirely.
Oh, okay.
It's different.
It's a newer type of thing is what that is.
It's basically like leading somebody on with the least.
You would never.
Happily married man, father.
Adam Hogue wouldn't do that type of thing.
We know your character.
So for the listener, just for the record,
difference between following the breadcrumbs
and our previous conversation about the act of breadcrumming
is a dating term for Adam Hogue.
Got it.
Well, it's been a long time.
Yeah, I've been a long time.
happily married for 13 years and with my wife for, I think, 18. So I don't even
dating is, I don't even know what the kids do anymore.
Hug would never. It's all online, man. It's a ridiculous world out here that we live in.
I could go down a road of, this was a long time ago, but like going through Kevin Fishbane's
dating apps back in Burbanae, again, like this was a long time too, just being fascinated by
like, what is this thing even? I don't understand what's happening right. Oh, the possibility
are endless, I tell you.
But what about safety?
What about that?
What about, just to get us out of this.
Kevin.
We would have gotten out of it.
I was just trying to point out the difference because Ray and I were laughing at the coincidence
of the turning up in two different ways.
I don't want a Hogue's wife like here.
Why were you talking about dating today, honey?
I mean, I don't want to get him in trouble.
Because Hogue would never do that.
I know he would.
But you know how the world works?
You know, they could take one little piece of what we're talking about.
out here.
So, yeah.
We have tape, though.
Yeah.
Well, I know, yeah.
Yeah, the full perspective is there.
I'm going to hit the eject button.
Seriously, though.
Like, are the chances of either Byrd or Brisker coming back better now as well?
Or do you think Byard was always going to come back or Bristker?
We don't hear much about Brisker anymore, it feels like.
Well, I, well, okay.
Well, let's start with Brisker because I heard last week and Andy got no indication.
that the Bears were going to bring him back.
And there seems to be an assumption, you know, just in NFL circles right now that he is going to be elsewhere.
And I don't think that really surprises anybody.
Now, I don't want to shut the door completely because I do think that there's questions about what his market would actually be out there, just given the concussion and the health history.
So, you know, if he goes out there, he tests the market, it turns out that he's not in the first wave of free agency, maybe not even in the second wave of free agency.
And all of a sudden, he's still sitting there in a really, you know, affordable place and the bears, you know, are still weighing, you know, what they're going to do at safety.
That's why I'm not completely closing the door, but sure, all signs point to Bristker being elsewhere.
Now, the buyer thing, I think, is interesting because I think there's the opposite of that.
The assumption is, you know, especially when you have the GM on record saying he wants to bring him back and, and the player on record saying he wants to come back, which he did when we talked.
to him in San Francisco at the Super Bowl, you know, you would think that they would come to an
agreement. Now, Johns and I reported, you know, in our post-combine piece on Monday that the market for
him, it seems to be like between $8, $10 million a year. That certainly seemed doable.
All these other moving pieces, though, right? The Drew Dalman thing, like you wonder, does that,
does that impact that a little bit? I, you know, I think it could, but, you know, they don't have any
safety signed right now. You've got to have somebody. I just think you already lost one big
leader on your defense in Tremaine Edmonds. To lose another one in Kevin Byard, I think would be
rough. So my guess is they still find a way to make that work despite, you know, all these moving
pieces that are going on right now. Adam, do you think that somebody else may be next when it comes
to the Bears attrition here, you know, the savage offseason that's happening in a way where
there have to be these business decisions made? Well, look, look, there's certainly other guys.
that you could look at logically, just looking at their contracts.
I think the obvious ones are gone, though, already.
Like, Tremaine seemed to be like an obvious cut.
DJ, if you could actually move that contract,
seem like, okay, yeah, you got to do that.
And obviously, the bill stepped up and made that more than doable.
So that became kind of a no-brainer as well.
You know, I think I realize why Cole Commet's name comes up.
I just really don't think that they're interested in losing Cole Comed at all.
I think Ben Johnson loves Cole Comed.
I think he's too important to the run game.
He's proven time and time again.
He can still step up and make big catches like he did, you know, in the playoff game to go to overtime.
So I just think he's too valuable and he's also a leader in that locker room.
So I have been given no indication that that's a possibility.
Now, do they try to extend him and move that cap number around?
That's certainly a possibility.
And then when it comes to DeAndre Swift, I look at that similarly,
with the one exception of sometimes guys get released or moved after the draft.
Like, don't forget about that wave of free agency and roster movement as well.
And the reason for that would be you draft somebody.
When the Bears drafted Tavent Jenkins, all of a sudden,
they released Charles Leno that following Monday.
So those things can happen sometimes.
And I just, I think the Andres
Swift will be a bear this coming season,
but you do look at that contract and you realize they could save more
cap space if they were to move on from him.
I think the only scenario that they would do that, though,
would be if they end up drafting a running back,
maybe the guy that Ben Johnson just loves false to them in the second round
with one of these two picks now that they have.
And then all of a sudden that allows you to spring somebody lose.
Again, I'm not predicting that.
I just, those are the types of things you've got to keep in mind
because it's not like all these moves happen in the next two weeks here in March.
Sometimes they happen post-draft as well.
Spring to all fields with Adam Hogue.
Thank you for your patience and your information.
All right, guys.
Always love talking.
Have a great day.
Tell Karm I said hi.
Aw, Karm.
Thanks, Adam.
That was Adam Hogue.
He is on the CHGO Bears podcast and the Hogan-Johns podcast.
You can check both of those out.
And yes, Mark Kerman is a part of that coverage.
Loves of Tyson-Bajun.
You know his Baygent alert meter went
off when we were talking about Tyson Bayesian.
He is the foremost authority. Do you know that
about Mark Carmen? He has an internal
antenna. I know he does report
on Beijing quite a bit. They've had him on their
shows. They're best, like, they're friends.
I love Tyson.
It's no secret. It's not Mark
Carmen. The Carm and the
Baygent, they have a mutual
bromance. It's not one way.
It's not just Carm adoring Bayesian.
It goes, and I get it. I
adore Carm too. Seems that old Tyson
Bayesian has a lot of bromances when you
consider how Ben Johnson talks about him.
Bro, burpees.
Burpees, bro.
Burpees are good for you.
They suck, but they're good for you.
Flat out burpees.
That's what they are.
Suffer.
Love a burpee.

Love you, Karm.
We do love Karm.
And same thing.
Karm would not bread Karp.
Karm is it that dude.
No, he is not that dude.
No, he is not that dude.
He has a, he's in a very loving relationship as well.
See, that's my point.
Just like Adam Hogg.
It's really just about me shouting out people's character right now.
It was just getting a little uncomfortable in that little segment there.
I was just trying to point out that Hogue talking about following bread crumbs is not the same as
bread crud because that was the previous combo.
Because Ray and I both did the same thing or ears perked up.
That's hilarious.
There's a clarification and then a compliment to Adam Hogue.
You got it, Ray, huh?
Oh, yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah, Adam Hogue would never.
That's right, man. Hogue, we believe in you, man. You're a good man and thorough.
See, is that taking it too far? All right, let's go to a commercial break before we get in trouble here on the score.

Right. So we shouldn't get the parachute pants?
These are making a comeback.
I think.

Cole, welcome to the party, pal.
Well, thanks for having me.
I heard it was a big day.
So naturally, I dropped everything I had going on today.
You've complained a lot through the years about not being able to hear the score on the 670 AM dial
when you're inevitably cruising around downtown.
And now that we have an FM signal call, you can now hear the score all day, all the time, all you want.
You can hear all the Bears hot takes you want.
Well, that's perfect.
I'll make sure I last that in the locker room.
Beautiful Blas!

You guys ever figure out if counting crows are good, Mark?
I don't think I have a definitive answer.
I do think it's a good question, though, because they are omnipresent.
Like, the counting crows have always been there,
had some really, like, fun, hit poppy songs,
but yet they're a little bit more low-key than your average pop band.
I still can't call it.
I don't know.
I don't know if I like them.
We just need to ask more people.
Maybe a little older than Cole Comatt.
Possibly.
Yeah.
Possibly.
But, you know, what's old is new and all that kind of stuff.
That's true.
People like that.
Okay.
For now on, for all of our guests, instead of talking about dating apps and whatnot, we will ask them.
Are the county crows good?
Are the county crows good?
It's a good musical question, I think.
We did not ask Adam Hogue about dating apps.
We were just pointing out the difference between following breadcrumbs and the act of breadcrumming someone.
Oh, I'm not as...
And the fact that the two were conversation.
to Hogue on our show amongst us.
Oh, so you and Ray are way better at the breadcrumb stuff.
Like, I couldn't quite grasp it.
But now I can't.
We talk about it a lot on our breadcrumb podcast.
Right after the Snuggle Pust podcast?
Do we think, Matt, is Max Crosby breadcrumming the Bears?
Is he leaving the door just wide enough open and giving hints to keep us still interested?
I'm giving that 10 breadcrumbs.
Yes.
Do you guys know that, of course, I give us a lot of course, I give
out bears. You do. Do you guys know that the, and I love this, the afternoon show, Spigel at
Holmes, they give out haluses, which is great because there's so many halases. They do a halis
scale. That's really good. Interesting. I like it. Should they, should the halis scale face off
with the bear scale? Well, look, the bear scale is always going to be the original. That's where people
are going to go. But if you want an alternative, the halis scale is pretty hipster, man.
An alternative scale.
Yeah, we all got to have our scales.
And now we have a breadcrum scale and a counting crow scale.
We have the longtime Bill's Radio Network sideline reporter Sal Capaccio coming up at 1 o'clock.
I wonder if he has a Bill's scale.
Does he give out bills?
Bills.
Grady claims he's the Buffalo version of him.
No, I'm not that narcissistic.
Ray said that.
I said that.
That was me.
Oh, that was here.
I put it in Grody's head.
It's living in Grody's head now.
I actually had heard that previously.
And maybe it was Chris Emma.
possibly Chris Emma, who I believe going on with Sal Capaccio today on his radio station, as I did this morning as well.
But I think he's been a sideline reporter.
He does report for the bills, and he hosts a fewer days a week.
So if that's not, not that it's great to be Mark Grotie, but that sounds like, yeah, the Mark Grotty of Buffalo.
Who wouldn't want to be Mark Grotty bears?
I got, you know, we all got issues, man.
We'll get to the bottom of this at 1 o'clock.
Sal.
In the meantime, we're talking to him, of course, because of the DJ.
Moore trade. And we've talked about how the bears have depth at wide receiver.
Or is it just receiver when you consider how Cole Comet and Coulson Loveland are used in the
offense? Colson Loveland led the bears in regular season receiving yards with 713.
DJ Moore right behind him at 682, or a Madoonsie right behind him at 681.
Loveland played 16 games out of 17. DJ played all 17.
Rome played 12 because he had an injury.
Luther Burton had 15 games and got 6.52.
So for people who have heard about this trade,
who's the first name that pops up as who you think
wide receiver 1 is going to be?
Or do you think that the responsibilities fall to a tied end?
But for me, right now,
just because of his catches of consequence, Mark,
as you've liked to talk about.
Like if there's a weighted runs created plus
when it comes to catches in football.
I think my guy's Luther
Burden right now.
Not to say that Rome can't be that dude,
because we did just talk about how Ben Johnson
called Rome Caleb's Blanky.
But it's hard to disagree with what
Luther Burden did, especially toward
that latter half of the season.
Roma Dunzae
led the bears in
average yards per catch
at 15. Luther
Burden right behind him at
13.9. I think
it should be Roma Duneze.
It should be Romadunzee because of where he was drafted,
what we know about him as a receiver.
Coming in at the same time as Caleb,
like that, that, like,
do or die might be too strong for Rome going into this next season,
but it's kind of a must-win season for Roma-Dunzee.
So I tend to still go with Rome as that guy.
He was pissed off at the end of the season, for lack of a better phrase.
He was mad that he dropped the pass in the end zone, which, again, he would not accept any excuses that I offered him.
Was it a bad ball?
Did he get tip?
Nope, I got to make that catch.
I was not there on Locker Clean Out Day, but my partner on Take the North Dan Weeder was, and he said he was just lamenting, basically, still.
And that's not Roma Duns-A.
Like, Roma-Dunesay, fun-loving guy, always available, always.
smiling, always having fun.
He got serious at the end of this year.
He knows what's at stake.
He understands it.
I think it's going to be Roma Dunezee,
because I think he's going to be well-motivated.
The drops he's have to go away.
He's got to be healthy, and I think he will be.
So, while I love Luther Burden,
and I wouldn't be shocked if it was Luther Burden,
I do think it's still Roma Dunesay.
I think Roma Dunezay will be the bear's leading receiver next year.
Do you think that it's by targets,
or do you think it's by production?
because we know about Luther Burden's yards after the catch,
yak and rack,
and how that might come into play here.
Big time.
Big time.
There's, I mean, the ferocity with which Luther Burden runs
after he catches the ball is something of beauty.
Just got to make sure he catches the ball before he takes off and runs.
But I think statistically, I think he, like yards,
yards overall.
I don't know about targets necessarily,
but I think big play yards, you're going to see Roma Dunezay.
make finally, finally make the jump, finally look like a number one wide receiver that they drafted in the first round.
Lot at stake for Roma Dunes.
I feel like going into next year.
So let's do a thought exercise.
I mean, okay.
Danny Parking.
He loved thought exercise.
I love them.
Actually, we know exactly where you are.
You're going to be on Fox Sports 1 later today.
Oh, about that.
Mr. TV.
Mr. somebody's got to zip my fly, put on my tie.
I mean, is that necessary?
Sorry, Grotty, you passed a pen to me, man.
If you missed it on Tuesday, Danny said that when he puts on his suits, the belt is even already in the loops of the pants.
So all he has to do is just zip up and button, and that's it.
He's got it really good.
Like, I think they even pick him up for work and drive him to work.
That's pretty normal, though, right, for national TV and morning shows.
Let's just get this straight.
Okay.
The whole wardrobe thing and the day is like TV, blah, blah, blah.
No.
That is Danny's life as a national host at Fox in New York.
Yeah, that's what I mean.
Like, that's not TV.
Just so we're clear.
That's why I said national TV.
No, you did.
But Danny at the time was like, you know, TV, blah, blah, blah.
I'm like, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa.
Not all that.
I got a driver.
I told me, please be quiet.
I'm trying to focus, right?
I'm trying to study.
Please roll up the window.
I don't want to talk to you or see you.
Why did we just know,
find out about your Danny Parkins
impression. Oh, I do it behind here a lot.
We all do. We all do. Everybody's got a
Parkinson's. We do. But
obviously. I say,
getting back to you.
Danny would appreciate the thought exercise.
He invented the thought exercise.
I'm pretty sure the hypothetical
existed before Danny. He just
coined the term. He said it a lot.
I'm 37 years old, well-educated.
I've got another thought exercise
for you. I'm poorly educated
and I'm here too.
So getting back to the concept of the hypothetical.
All right.
Do you trust Rome?
Put Rome-A-Dunzey's body in DJ Moore's body.
Pretend that's Rome making the catch against the Packers on Saturday night.
Yeah.
December 21st.
Do you think it happens?
Oh, would he have held on to the football?
Is that what you're asking me?
Yeah.
Because that's really what this is.
It's kind of like the NBA.
Do you trust him to make the last shot?
He did drop a ball in the end zone.
So you're kind of putting me in a bad place here right now.
And that's what makes me worry.
Now, that doesn't always mean it's your leading receiver, but typically.
But I think he could get better.
Like, this will be his third year with Caleb Williams as well.
Unless I'm not like, Roma Dunezay has not been bad.
He has been a productive receiver.
But he has yet to live up to where he was drafted with the Bears and what they see in him.
And I think I think Ben Johnson will probably.
look at him as the go.
I mean, you've got to have one guy.
I know that you want the even balance.
There's got to be one guy, though,
that is your go-to blankie, if I may.
But, you know, the thing that made me say Luther
is because there were times where on third down,
like third and four, third and three,
they'd be like, okay, wide receiver,
open in the flat, go get the yards, Luther Burden.
Totally.
On a third down.
Totally.
And like, not inconsequential distance.
that he had to go, which means they're putting him on the spot and saying,
we trust your ability so much.
You're going to catch this ball at the line of scrimmage and move the chains.
And that's why I think it's going to be him,
because I think they would put him in that spot to use his physical abilities
and be able to, even as a rookie to have that trust.
And as a second year player, I feel like he might be the guy in those scenarios.
I am not discrediting Roma Dunesay's ability.
I thought that it was a dream that the bears could even possibly get him when they drafted him.
His career at Washington was incredible.
And he did have a lot of at the time the guaggy that Matt Spiegel speaks of that go up and get it.
But the drops that he had this season were pretty bad.
And so he wasn't the only one by any means, was not the only one.
And he pushed himself too hard, I think, when it came to trying to come back from injury.
So now that that is behind him, you know, how does he focus and try to,
to get better at that very thing.
Right.
And I think that not that he wasn't properly motivated the last two years, it just gets different.
As you get older, the excuses are less.
This is real.
He's getting closer to his contract being over and eventually heading out into free agency
and getting paid and all that stuff is important.
So year three for that receiver in this offense, I think is huge.
I know we're just talking about receivers here, but do you think that Luther Burden will lead
the Bears in receiving next year?
Do you think Colson Loveland will have something to say about that?
I think Colson Loveland might have something to say.
Do you think he's the top guy? Because he was this year.
It is. Yes, he was.
I think it has to do with
DJ, not having DJ more changes the shape of the offense.
And don't forget how much DJ blocked, too.
So I don't, I wonder if it even looks the same.
You know, the formations and the plays they run.
And this is why, too, we can't get careless about the part where
you got to replace DJ Moore in some way, shape, or form.
Yeah, you can talk about those guys getting better.
And it's logical to think that the guys on the roster will get better.
But there is something missing from the wide receivers room right now.
There is a void left by DJ Moore that cannot be filled by just any rank and file receiver.
Precisely.
He had value to your team to the tune of being its highest cap hit in AAV.
That's for a reason.
He also had value to another team who wants to continue to contend for Super Bowls.
So that doesn't go away.
No, we haven't forgotten the fourth and seven.
Fair enough.
That's good.
Yeah, the fourth and eight, yeah.
That's good, yeah.
And that's, no, and that's the point.
Rome makes some great catches.
There were some bad drops and some bad plays in that Rams game.
Coming up next year on Rahimi Harrison Grady, it is time for halftime.
Sometimes sinkholes are bad.
Usually, I would say a good 99-3.
percent of the time.
Except for maybe this one.
Next.
What time is it?
It is halftime here on Rahimi
Harrison Grotie. And now
that Tremaine Edwards is gone, and Drew
Dalman is gone, and DJ Moore is gone,
Grady and I want to know, who's next?
What's next?
The Bears have taken a defined direction when it
comes to trying to free up cap space.
So we're trying to figure out
for what and for who?
We haven't gotten to the fun part yet.
And that's what we're embarking at.
We were just talking about that,
that all this elimination and salary cap space is great.
Now we start to talk about who's next.
That's right.
And also, for the love of everything,
it's not legal tampering.
Those are two different things.
That really bothers you, doesn't it?
It does because it's silly.
Legal tampering is not a thing.
The negotiating period.
Does that work?
Yeah.
That makes it make sense.
Teams talk to other teams about,
teams get to talk to people.
That's what that is. So that's next week. And that's what Mark is referring to.
We talked to Adam Hogue about the fallout from all of this and what he thinks could be next.
And also because of the Gino Smith news, for example, could Tyson Bejan be on the move?
The Bears said they took calls. So we discussed that too. And then who would be W.R.1 and the discussion between Roma Dunesay and Luther Burton.
It's laptop. I love a good buried treasure story. And I also observe what happens with sinkholes from time.
to time because they're scary.
They can just pop up anywhere.
I don't have an irrational fear, but I have a fear.
Maybe a respect.
They're scary.
You've seen them.
They just swallow up things.
Oh, yeah.
Except for this, which makes it sound like somebody just may have had an engineering flaw.
Massive sinkhole on golf course reveals hidden booze-filled cellar.
Oh.
Davy Holm Park Golf Club located just west of Band.
Manchester, this is in England, is more than 110 years old.
And seeing what the sinkhole revealed, it's a course that was either built on top of a rather impressive wine in Portsillar or one that was purposefully hidden.
So they think they may have built the golf course on top of this thing, which means this has been kept preserved for how long?
Is there some good scotch down there?
I bet.
A nice brandy or something?
Has to be, right?
After a lengthy stretch of severe rain, Greenskeepers discovered the appearance of a sinkhole on the 13th hole.
The staff got to work around the issue and uncovered the old seller stocked full of booze.
In the video that they shared on their Instagram, the seller is believed to date back to the original manor house in which the club was built.
So this is vast.
Like looking at the video, this is some, I mean, it's like a rich person seller.
You know, we're not talking about one that's the size of the studio.
This thing goes back away.
So the club hasn't posted any updates or clips of staffers trying to get any of the booze found under.
ground, but apparently it's over a hundred
years old and was filled with
historic wine and port bottles.
So maybe not the scotch, but wine and
port. What's port? Like porth?
Port. He's our assistant
program. That's parth.
Port. Port.
Is a type of wine, isn't it?
I don't know. What's a port?
Port. Port. Port. Is a sweet, fortified wine
for Portugal's Dora. Do you ever have a port?
Doesn't he play
basketball? Port.
Port? Yeah.
Okay, it's a fortified sweet dessert wine from the Dorough Valley in Portugal.
Typically produced by adding grape spirit brandy during fermentation to boost alcohol.
Two, cut water levels, people.
19 to 22% ABV and retain natural sugars.
Available in Ruby Fruit Forward and Tani.
Aged and nutty.
It is often served after dinner.
Ah, so there was a plan to this cellar.
You know, have the wine first and then you serve at the port later.
Ah, yes.
El Port.
El Port.
I don't know if they do L in Portuguese.
Portuguese makes me feel like I am incapable of thinking.
Have you ever tried to, like, read Portuguese or listen to it or look at it?
I have not, but I just adhere to Stewie Griffin.
No Portuguese, please.
Randomly.
Randomly, one day.
Tell that to Brazil.
Oh, I think like if you if you are to Google Stewie Griffin and Portugal, there's a whole comment section that Stewie Griffin made it to with the people of port.
Like just a random shot at the Portuguese.
Unbelievable.
Yeah.
It is a very complicated language.
Is it?
Yes.
Okay.
The vowels all sound completely different from Spanish.
Like Ray, have you heard Portuguese as a Spanish speaker?
Oh, I have heard it.
It confuses the hell out of it.
It is confusing for me, yes.
I have always heard, though, that the most difficult language because of all the weird stuff is English.
English is bad because it was written down and stopped in its development way too early.
And it is very hard to learn if you didn't speak English first.
Yeah, the rules.
There's a lot of rules that are not, you know, found in other languages.
That complicate matters.
Are they hominems, words that are the same word that means?
different things.
Yeah, yeah.
Like, there's a ton of those in the English language that we all take for granted.
There and there.
We know who you are.
Right.
Like, three different words or three different meanings for one word.
Like, that's hard.
And we know, and we've learned through the years.
That is difficult for some of the people that call the radio station.
Or usually texters.
That too.
Definitely Twitter.
You know your people on Twitter.
It's usually the angry people.
It's usually the attacks that come at us that somehow are always lacking grammar.
And vocabulary.
But speaking of this, oh, okay, so 847 says in Brazilian Portuguese, and I know I'm messing
up the vowel pronunciation.
I just know it.
It would be Ovino do Porto.
So see, no L to be found in their hair.
Yeah, that is hard.
I told you, it's confusing as hell language.
Yeah.
Like, I was listening to some banger of a song that's some Portuguese song and it's super
popular.
And I have no idea what they're saying.
I have no idea what the words are.
And then when I read the lyrics, I'm like, that doesn't sound like what I'm reading.
We need to have that at the Super Bowl halftime show next year.
No.
Confuse everybody?
And make everybody angry.
It's not English.
That was my bad bunny impersonation.
That's it.
Go watch the Super Bowl show.
That's the worst.
I like the way he does that.
It sounds cool.
It's not a bad bad buddy.
Not a bad bad buddy.
That's it.
That's all I got.
I thought it was big X to plug.
Check out.
I'm from Texas.
I like, you are cool, man.
I like the way I like the way you say.
So this is, this falls under the category of good sinkhole.
Sinkhole at a golf course.
It's a good sinkhole.
Nobody appeared to be hurt and it revealed ancient wine.
Aye.
Yeah, okay, so fake bad bunny approved.
I'm working on it.
What would Danny Parkins have to say about it?
I mean, it's like bad bunny.
Some people got mad about it.
I don't really care because I live in this huge house and I wasn't watching the halftime show.
I got two kids.
I got this dog.
I got this wife.
I got this show.
This dog.
I got this dog
Omar
Didn't he once try to trade
Oh
Terribly enough
This is not aged well
He tried
He said he would have traded his dog Omar

I got five.
It's time for five on it.
Rahini Harrison, Rodney.
Bring you five topics on their minds today.
On 104-3, the score.
Number one.
Got a special edition of five on it.
I'm 104-3, the score with Lailorah, Rahimi, Mark Grody, and.
And Fox 32 Chicago sports anchor and Bears reporter Cassie Carlson in the house.
Here's question number one.
Yesterday, Bears traded receiver, DJ Moore in a 2026 fifth round pick to the bills for a
2026 second round pick and released Tremaine Edmonds, linebacker Tremade Edmonds.
What's the next move for Chicago?
And I'm going to put this stipulation out there.
We're limiting this to one move.
What is the number one move the Bears will make next?
I'm scared that they're going to cut somebody else.
I feel like this is Ryan pulls swashbuckling through a jungle of cap space.
And you don't necessarily know if he's going to be conservative in the path that he's swathing
or if he's going to make sure that it's a tight path or a wide path.
Is Colquamette next?
Is DeAndre Swift next?
Is anybody safe?
One name only.
No, but that's what I worry about.
So optimistically, because I want to wish cast this, there's.
sending Taylor Linderbaum in my opinion.
That's an opinion and a hope.
More of a hope, really, but that's what I want to say happens because
there's a lot of people that are gone.
And I don't know that I'm ready to deal with all of this yet.
Oh, so I have the same answer, Tyler Linderbom because, again, I want it to happen.
And I think it's the most important thing that needs to happen for Ben Johnson to
create the number one offense in the league next year.
We saw the importance of Drew Dalman.
We know the importance of what he meant to Caleb Williams.
Year 2 in Ben Johnson's offense, you could argue, is more important for
Caleb Williams because he wants to get paid.
The Bears are preparing to hopefully pay him
and you need to take that next step.
The Cole Kometh thing is interesting. It could be a restructuring
of Cole Kmet's contract too because
Ryan Poles, I thought he made it pretty clear at the
Combine that he would like to keep
DeAndre Swift and Cole Komet on the roster.
And I feel like he named dropped those names because he kind of
wanted them out of the talks of
maybe they could be cut.
Yeah, I mean, yeah, that's a great.
The restructuring conversation is a good one
because there are other candidates who I mentioned
Joe Tooney and Jonah
Jackson at the beginning of the show today.
If you were to restructure their contracts,
that's 14 Mildo right there.
So that's a good one.
I can't disagree with you guys on Linderbaum.
I mean, that would be silly because we can't sit here and talk about how important
Drew Dalman was and then say, yeah, we'll settle for a rank and file average center.
So it's incredibly important, but I have a prediction.
I have a prediction.
I think on Monday, we are going to be talking about a, we are going to hear that there is a deal
in place for, I'm going to say, two years and $20 million for Kevin Beyer to return to the Chicago
Bears and continue to be the safety and leader that he is in the Bears locker room.
That would be a good move that would make people happy.
A reasonable take.
You have a safety on the roster.
Yes, you have a safety on the roster.
That is a start.
You might need one.
Am I crazy guys to think that Jonathan Owens might, I also think about him as a possible re-sign?
special teams.
Yeah.
You like to hear.
You need bodies.
I think they're happy here.
I would say that.
I think more so than anything.
It was like there were some rumblings of Kevin Byer could have created his own market to go play
somewhere else and make a ton more money.
And that would have been a huge concern because then if you lose that leader in the locker
room, you're like, where is the next leader going to come from?
And I think that's the value that he really does bring to the bears.
Well, he did change though, because we talked about this too defensively, Cassie,
was that he was a pretty important part of the defense last year.
under not 20-25 season, but 24.
And then his role was not the same,
even when the secondary got depleted this next year.
So maybe it just wasn't a fit for Dennis Allen.
I don't know, as much.
He's very aware, though, just in some conversations I had with him
about the way the NFL works.
He's like, yeah, man, you start to hear them bringing guys into workout.
Like, they pay attention to that stuff.
You hear safeties are coming in.
Like, he talked about, you know, in Green Bay and other places that he's played
that like he he understands the rhythm and the heartlessness of the NFL.
Well, he's what, 32 years old.
He's been around the block for a while.
I think he felt like, oh, he wants to play.
I think he wants to play, like potentially like four or five more years.
Is that possible for Kevin Byard?
We'll wait and see when you're the interceptions leader at 31, 32 years old.
It seems like the possibilities are endless for him.
But to position himself, and I think a lot of it is Al Harris and how he positions his
DBs to be in good situations.
He always talked about like tails on.
And it was the most that it's ever been emphasized in the secondary since I've been covering the bears,
that they were always looking at tails on tape.
And they were really able to capitalize on those for some reason this year under Al Harris as the coach.
And so I think that it's a combination of the group they had, Al Harris, that they want to be part of this defense.
That's getting all these takeaways, whether it was a one-off or not.
Number two.
Which remaining bear is most likely to break Johnny Morris's record.
5,059 career
receiving yards.
In the career?
Yes, Romo Dunesay.
In the career, note,
Morris retired from the Bears in
1967.
It's a long time.
This was inspired by some textor
yesterday who was having fun
and said, who did Johnny Morris pay
to get DJ Moore off of the team?
And the joke was that
he was going to remain like the 72 dolphins,
you know, the longest tenured
receiving record for Bears and Bears history.
And then I texted back,
Pop the champagne,
Johnny Morris, like they always say when a team
loses, pop the champagne,
Miami Dolphins.
I guess, I guess
because he's so young in his career,
it's got to be one of the rookies, right?
It would have to be
either Colston Loveland potentially or Luther
Burden. I think Roma Dunsay still could
depending on his career,
but I don't think Colson Loveling
could get enough receiving orders just by nature
of tight ends. That would be in
a wild amount of production every year.
So I guess,
it's still either Roma Dunesay or Luther
Burton if it's a remaining bear.
Longevity
of career in Chicago
alone could make it Colston
Loveland. That's where my mind
went of just how many years they're going to
be in Chicago. Roma Dunezay,
I keep going back to like, yes, we need
Rome to emerge as wide receiver one.
But then I also go back to
he is not Ben Johnson's guy. And we
really don't know how Ben Johnson
truly feels about Roma Dunesay,
especially coming off last year where injuries
played a part, started off so strong, but dropped off significantly in the last, when he needed
to show up, especially in the last game. And I know that weighs on Roma Dunezay. He was the most
visibly upset and hurt by his role in the divisional loss at the end of the year in the locker
room. I go back to Colston Lovelland every time. I just think he's going to have the longest
tenure out of the picks available in Chicago. So inevitably, he'd have the highest chance of getting
closest. Well, is it Walter Payton third?
he's in the top five.
So is Mike Ditka, tight end.
So if a tight end and a running back can be in the top five,
then I guess the tight end could.
But yeah,
that's just more about the bears than it does, I think.
Because everywhere else it would far and away be a receiver.
Which remaining bear is most likely to break Johnny Morris's record of five?
None of them.
Oh, my God.
None of them will do it because it never happens.
I thought maybe Curtis Conway would do it at one point in time.
I thought Brandon Marshall.
might do it at one point in time.
I thought maybe Alshan Jeffrey would do it at one point in time.
I had high hopes for Alan Robinson to do it at one point in time.
I'm sorry.
I know this is the, I'll just admit it.
I am being jaded right now.
None of these.
And maybe I should believe in the power of Ben Johnson to actually make this happen.
None of those guys are going to pass Johnny Morris.
It's just the way it works with the bears.
I'm sorry.
Walter Payton is fourth.
Alshon Jeffrey is third.
Sorry.
Alshon Jeffries.
Yes.
Sorry Alshan's, Jefferies.
He's at the Jules now.
Number three.
Shout out to the Jules.
This is 5 on it on 104 3 of the score with Laylorh,
Rohingey, Mark Grody, and Fox 32's Cassie Carlson,
all in the house today.
Here's question number three.
This week, quarterback Aaron Rogers joined the Pat McAfee show on ESPN
and had this to say about his thought process,
about the idea of a potential return to the Steelers.
You've had to have done some daydreaming about what it would be like to be back
with Big Mike, I assume, or am I assuming incorrectly there?
Day drinking?
Well, I mean, what are we sitting here?
It's March 4th for agency starts in a week.
I've been spent a lot of time with my wife.
We went on a ski trip.
Just been laying low.
There's a lot of other things going on with the situation in Malibu that have changed some things.
But I've talked to Mike.
I've talked to Omar.
There's been no deadline that's been put in front.
of me there's no contract you know offer or anything so there's nothing that I'm you know
having to debate between them you know free agent and you know again I'm I'm I'm
I'm enjoying my time with my wife and enjoying this part of the off season and and you know I
think there's conversations to be had down the line but but right now I'm not not
there hasn't been any progressive conversations you know I love Mike and Mike
I've kept in contact over the years.
I've, you know, had conversations with Omar.
I really, you know, I think Omar, you know, enjoyed having me there.
I think the guys, you know, had a positive response, you know, to our time together.
But, but again, there hasn't many deadlines set on me.
There hasn't been any contract, you know, floated in front of me.
That is Aaron Rogers on the Pat McAfee show.
All of this kind of sounding a little familiar.
Todd was mentioning general manager, Omar.
Rakan and Mike McCarthy.
Given that former Packers coach
Mike McCarthy is now the head coach
in Pittsburgh, does a reunion between
Rogers and the Steelers make the most
sense for both sides?
I was under the impression that
Aaron Rogers was the last man standing
in a game of King of the Hill
and that Aaron Rogers
won that battle when there was a
face-off against Mike McCarthy and that
that was a relationship that at the time
had come to an obvious conclusion.
Aaron Rogers says a lot of
stuff.
A lot of stuff.
Too much.
And I think Aaron Rogers probably wants to remain
employed and it sounds like based
on some reporting today that
Carson Wince is the preferred backup
in Minnesota. So why
is that important? Because I definitely thought that
Brett Farrb might follow the
Brett Favreve arc
and go to Minnesota to complete
the Jets, Packers, Vikings
trifecta. The FARC.
Which honestly kind of would have been here for.
Right? I mean, like I think
that he was probably, this is very much me thinking.
This is not reported.
But can't you imagine being Aaron Rogers, knowing who he is now,
sitting on the bench watching that hole when it dominated our lives in a much simpler
time, whether or not Brett Fav was retiring?
And then what does he do?
Go to the Jets?
Okay.
Okay, Aaron Rogers.
You want that time that Brett Fav took from all of us, don't you?
You want to have the same time.
You want to take that time from us as a society.
Yeah, Aaron Rogers spoke for what?
like I think it's 75 minutes on the Pat McAfee show.
And I hate that people tune in.
And I hate that he is so interesting when he speaks.
And you're like,
because you don't want to like him.
Is he interesting?
Is he interesting or does he just say stuff and make it sound slightly curious?
Well, he knows how to make himself the center of attention in the NFL, which is why I truly
don't care what he does.
I don't see Aaron Rogers as the threat at 42, 43 years old with the Steelers.
like it doesn't matter to me.
Like I think he is going to wait as long as he can to make a decision when everyone's done
talking about everything else and they can only talk about Aaron Rogers.
Do you think he's really married?
Well, I don't know.
Do you?
I'm suspicious.
The podcast, the gossip show.
Sports gossip.
Gossip girl.
That's right up my alley.
They, uh, they did some digging and they found Aaron Rogers wife, the identity of Aaron
Rogers' wife.
They did not release the name or anything.
like that, but they confirmed that this person is real and is married to Aaron Rogers.
I hate that he said there's some stuff going on in Malibu.
He wanted McAfee to ask the follow-up of like, he's like that guy who is like, says something
so that the person asks about it.
Well, he's, I can give you that update quickly because I listen to a lot of that long interview.
And it was, he has a, he has had a beach house in which he has been stalked,
according to Aaron Rogers.
So that's what all of that going on in Malibu was, and he needed to get out of that situation.
Because he's being stalked.
A likely story.
Right, right.
Does a reunion between Rogers and Mike McCarthy makes sense?
Yeah, it does because it's wholly disappointing.
And I would imagine even the Pittsburghers would be, I don't think that Mike McCarthy's hiring was very inspiring as it was to begin with.
So like the kind of the older guy who's had many bites at the apple, who's probably got what, a couple good years left him.
in as a head coach.
Same thing with Aaron Rogers.
So they're actually a perfect marriage,
if not a completely disappointing marriage,
to the outside world.
They're the friend that you're like,
I'm not sure.
Is it going to work out?
Yeah, I've got to support you, Ben,
but I'm not sure if that's the right woman for you.
As someone who had a disappointing marriage,
watch out there.
Hey, if I had been watching over you,
you would have been fine.
We were functioning for quite some time.
That's good.
But, you know, sometimes it just falls apart,
and then it is a disappointing marriage.
I don't think there's was, it was functioning to a point.
But I feel like the air being led out of the balloon when they were together in Green Bay was long and frustrating.
Yeah.
But they also had the highest of highs.
Yeah.
They did.
And that's why I'm like surprised.
Like I didn't necessarily know that they were like still on great terms.
So I didn't either.
I will give you a quick detail here.
During this long interview he did with Pat McAfee, Aaron Rogers detailed that in Green Bay he had a meeting with Mike.
McCarthy was just the two of them.
They met in the sewing room
where they saw all the patches and the numbers
onto the uniforms as to isolate themselves
so they can just be one on one
and they patched everything up
at that moment when they were still in Green Bay.
That's how the story is told by Aaron Rogers.
He said that they patched it up in a sewing room.
In a sewing room.
How poetic.
He said that.
I mean, that's my, that's me being.
That's my doing.
But you're a cute.
Thanks.
Wait, wait.
You're the But you're the Butte.
You're the Butte.
Okay.
I'm glad to see him not the only one's skeptical of his relationship as well.
Number four.
Are the Bulls doing too much?
Yes.
What are you doing, Bulls?
That's not how you tank.
What are you guys doing?
You're not supposed to be doing all that.
Beating the Suns on the road, no less.
Colin Sexton game?
No, what?
Bulls, no.
You're supposed to be tanking right now,
especially against Western Coverage team.
where the wins really don't mean anything.
No, that was the wrong move.
Well, I mean, I was good for the team, but still.
Sun's headlines are like Sun's face worst loss of this season.
Oh, I didn't even look at though. That makes sense.
Which makes me laugh. No, you should be losing.
This is the tough dynamic of I'm sure that keeps Billy Donovan up at night.
It's never been a loser, suddenly losing, wants to help his guys, doesn't know what to do.
The February was the best month for the Bulls.
You need to get out of purgatory.
You need to get higher lottery chances.
Cassie, I was talking about this yesterday.
Like, I'm driving around listening to the Bulls game on the radio
when you don't have the advantage of seeing the players.
And honestly, and Chuck can't do this and doesn't need to do this,
but I need to know if it's a Bulls player.
When I hear Leonard Miller just drained a three, what?
Who does he play for?
Nick Richards, Lachlan Allbrook, Yuki Kawamura.
Know him a little bit better because he's an interesting story.
Gershon Yubeseli last night had 16 points.
You can't have all those guys going into Phoenix and beating Phoenix 105 to 103.
And shout out to our guy, Marshall Harris, who is our Bulls guy,
and he could not have been more disappointed in what the Bulls did last night at a 105-103 win over Devin Booker's sons.
I've got a good player for you, Grody.
Yabasele, his nickname is the Dancing Bear.
Oh, is it really?
Oh, I didn't that know that.
Do you know the origin story?
I don't.
We'll have to find it out.
Oh, I thought you had it.
Yeah, the way you said that we were hanging on your...
No, I thought, no, I was genuinely curious.
The dancing bear.
I don't.
How many bears does Bear Sean get?
I don't know how many Bulls fans do.
Yeah, that's a seven bear situation.
So I'd like to meet...
Let's get Yuba Selle on the score.
I want them on Monday.
Okay, while we're talking...
Bears.
Legal tampering period.
Legal tamper.
Wait a second.
So I only have eight and a half having been here 10 years.
Cassie's from.
here. So she gets more bears out of the gate.
You're from Palatine? Yep. Palatine.
What did I give you 8.5 bears?
Yeah, but I had to be in 10 years. Congratulations on your nine bears, Cassie. Good job.
Shout out to Mayor Schwantz, by the way, out in Palatine.
Other high school. Jim Schwantz, our guy.
Oh, yeah. Yeah. Schwantz is still still the mayor, the former bear.
Yes, his daughter's my age. Oh, really?
But we went to opposite high school. So there is a rivalry there. Okay. Got you.
Are you guys cool now, or is it still kind of like a heated rivalry? Not a heated rivalry.
No.
What is the actual original term?
Palatine and Frammed.
It's a TV series, isn't it?
It is.
Yeah, sorry.
I haven't been, I've heard about it, but no, I meant the original term, to be fair.
There is a hatred there, I would say.
But see, the problem was my junior high would split between both high school.
So all my junior high friends went to Framd and then I went to Palatine.
And then you're like, all right, I'll go to your dance.
Like, that's high school rivalries.
Okay.
So it sounds civil.
but aware.
Yeah.
All right.
Tyler has the Yabusele origin.
Go ahead.
So the reasoning for the nickname is because of his surprising agility and nimble footwork.
Bear?
Dancing bear.
Dancing bear.
Dancing bear.
All right.
He's French.
Dancing bear.
Wow.
The bears are going up by the second.
Go off, Gerey.
Number five out of one.
1043, the score.
Final question.
Team USA plays its opening game tonight in the World Baseball Classic.
What's your interest level in the tournament?
I think for me it's still high.
because of how exciting this was last year.
Now, NFL free agency and the like has very much dominated my week
where I would normally be spending more time watching the World Baseball Classic.
But when you have the stars that Team USA has and you know how this came down to USA versus Japan the last time,
a lot of the games are on Fox.
They are starting tonight.
Yeah, so with Team USA playing tonight on Fox, right?
Yes, you're right.
I'm excited because of the nationality and pride coming off the 11th.
Olympics and Team USA with hockey in particular.
I feel like that's going to carry over into the WBC.
And of course, just like watching, I think more so the Cubs players that are going to be
in it in the early rounds.
Once it gets to the quarterfinals, I feel like that's when I'll be more bought in.
And if we do get USA, Japan, I think everyone's going to be watching.
There are 162 regular season baseball games coming up.
I don't know that I necessarily need to be hooked on more baseball.
I will watch it the same way I watch the Olympics.
I'll turn it on for a while.
I'll check it out.
I'll see what the vibe is.
I'll watch the Cubs and White Sox players if they're coming up in the order.
That'd be cool.
But I'll be honest.
I don't believe, I mean, it could be different.
I don't think I will be glued to more baseball when 162 game season is about to occur.
At least have Fox on in the background.
I will.
Just for you.
Just for you.
That's one way you can support, actually.
Yes.
I support Fox 32.
I support Cassie Carlson.
Wallpaper.
TV slash world baseball classic tonight on Fox.
And they're playing Brazil.
And I was just talking about how I can't speak Portuguese at all.
Understand it anything.
My eyes are on Team Mexico, baby.
There you go.
Who's the star?
You're going to call me out like that,
Brady?
Javier Assad, baby.
Good enough.
Good enough.
Yes.
Very good.
Javier.
Had a great world baseball classic for Mexico last time.
He did.
So go off Javier Assad.
Cassie Carlson is in the house with us from Fox 32.
She did a ton of work at the NFL Combine, sat down with Jeff King, who's now the assistant general manager, sat down with Ryan Poles and talked to him, did the same with Ben Johnson, did a lot of other reporting.
So I think given the week that we have had as a Bears media, I want to know, do you look back on any of those conversations a little differently now doing what we've seen?
We will talk to Cassie about that and more next.

Rahimi Harris and Grody, Midday's 10 to 2 on 1043, the
Score.
Hello everyone and welcome into First and North.
I'm Cassie Carlson.
Hey everyone, welcome into Chicago Sports tonight.
Tina Lynn and Cassie Carlson with you.
How do you prioritize what you want to do with this roster?
Do you work from top down or how does that work from your standpoint?
I think the first thing is getting together with my staff, understanding what the landscape looks like.
Then the next thing is meeting with our coaches to make sure that we have alignment with what we need to have success and take our team to the next level.
The wide receiver room under Ben Johnson just seemed to be heading in a different direction and they're so
many other needs that this Bears front office needs to address now in free agency and it clears up
$16.5 million in cap space that they're desperately going to need it. With Rahimi Harrison Grody on
1043 The Score. Love a good Rihanna song for the Cassie Carlson open. This is Rahimi Harrison
Grotie on 1043 The Score. Cassie Carlson is in studio with us for the hour. Yeah, what do you
think of the montage? I mean, Rihanna, I'm honored. I'm a team Rihanna over Team Beyonce, so
you guys knew me so well.
I'm truly impressed.
That was a Tyler Bureball production.
I know you like Rihanna Grody.
I do. Yeah. Hey, cheers to the
freaking weekend, you know? They play
that at every Bears game and every
time I hear them like, they do.
Yeah, I noticed these kind of things. I have tuned out the music
at Soldier Field. Because a lot
of times I'm like, there's no new songs.
Like, they're all oldies. That's true.
There's no doubt about that. Like I perk up
for the Rihanna song.
They play a steady flow of
system of a down throughout the game.
They do?
They do.
They do.
And then they play, what's there's a bear claw song.
That's your deodorant.
Oh yeah, that is my deodorant.
But there is a bear, what was it?
There was something that I thought was, something that had to do with claws or something.
I don't pay attention, I guess.
But that's a great.
Rihanna's got some good stuff.
Absolutely.
Cheers of the freaking weekend.
Indeed.
And shine bright like a diamond.
That's a really nice song.
So all of that said, I feel like there was some shining bright like a diamond.
When it came to the work you did at the NFL Combine, like you guys put in work at Fox 32.
That was very evident, especially last week.
And I was thinking about some of the stuff that Ryan Poles said, both of you heard it,
DJ Moore when he talked about him not only at the Combine, but at the end of season press conference.
And he didn't back off.
He said every single time, there are some serious decisions that we have to make.
So that was my recollection when I heard the DJ Moore news yesterday.
having sat down with Ben Johnson, having sat down with Ryan Poles and Jeff King,
did you revisit anything that was said immediately when you heard about either Drew
Dalman News or DJ Moore, even Tremaine Edmonds? What came back to you thinking about the work
you had done? Well, thank you. First off and shout out to our bosses at Fox 32. For the last
three years, I've gone down there for the entire week. And it really is so beneficial to talk to all
the national people that are down there too. And it was just such a different experience this year
because with the 25th pick
and who knows if the Bears keep the 25th pick,
it was like you could go in a million different directions
on who the prospect could be that they're going to draft.
So it was more so about the Bears and where they're at right now
coming off of last year.
The DJ Moore stuff,
I thought starting at the end of season press conference
when Ryan Poles talked about his toughness
and everything that stood out with not missing games,
other players around him,
looking at DJ on the field, playing banged up and saying,
well, I better be out there too.
And then what he said at the,
combine about him having to make some tough decisions and not knowing the different
combination of players that they would have on the roster next year,
reiterating the toughness and durability that DJ plays with.
And then it was Ben Johnson who actually said that DJ probably knew the offense and
each wide receiver position better than anyone else on the team.
I thought to me, given that in combination with the salary that he was carrying and knowing
he was going to be the highest paid bear next year and that he was in a receiver room where
his production was the down to the least of his career.
It was always kind of the obvious answer that he probably wasn't going to be on this team next
year.
And I felt like the bears were trying to boost his market saying that DJ Moore is, because
there are a lot of questions about DJ more nationally, especially coming off of that
interception at the end when Chris Collinsworth in real time on national television pointed
out that he laid up on his route.
And that created this narrative around DJ Moore.
And there's other examples of times where people were questioning how he,
played and if he gave 100% every time he was on the field. And I thought that was them saying,
like, you are going to get a really good teammate and player if you have DJ Moore on your
roster. So that's how I read the situation. Just the $28 million was a huge number that
they just, they have so many more areas to fill. And now we're, there was no, I didn't hear
anything about the Drew Dalman retirement at at the combine. I think everyone was equally shocked when
that news came out this week. But knowing that and knowing that the bears had been in talks with
him about that being a potential opportunity.
They equally then knew that it just wasn't a possibility to carry that salary with
DJ Moore.
I want to stand a wide receiver with you for a second because Layla and I were kind of
debating it and discussing it.
Layla said Luther Burden will be their number one wide receiver next year.
I think it's going to be Roma Dunzee just because he's got to.
This is his kind of his, like he's going to be in the NFL for a long time, but this is
the year that will dictate what he eventually gets in free agency and what his career
will really look like, who do you think is going to be the most productive receiver for the Bears
next year?
I keep going back to Colston Loveland and everyone's like, well, he's in the tight ender.
I'm like, no, but he's a receiver.
He's a receiver.
He catches the ball.
And Ben Johnson wanted him for that particular reason that he can do it all.
And Ben Johnson is going to use him in his scheme every single year.
We saw how this offense really emerged post-by week when Colson Loveland started getting the targets
and he really started emerging.
And I keep going back to that.
Colston Loveland had zero off season.
He came out of college.
He had shoulder surgery, had to rehab it, and then came back in training camp and was like,
that was his like inauguration into the NFL.
And we saw him get better as the years went on.
Roma Dunesay, I think feels definitely the most pressure to become wide receiver one.
Like what I was saying earlier about, I won't forget just how he looked.
He looked distraught at the end of the season, both after the game and the next day in locker clean out.
Like he was almost inconsolable about the drop he had on the.
that opening drive. And then I just think that he knew he had such a disappointing season,
especially the way he started the year. You're like, oh my gosh, he is on track to have a thousand
yards receiving. He's going to emerge in year two with Caleb Williams. Then the injury happens.
And then the drop off happens. And you just felt like he knows that he needs to step up. I think
he feels all the pressure in the world. Like he's a top 10 pick. Yeah. He came in with this quarterback.
Caleb Williams ascended. Romadunes, they equally needs to ascend. And it's all the conversation.
about the size that he has.
And coming out, remember he said, like, he doesn't believe in 50, 50 balls.
Like, he's like, a, he's like a hundred or nothing.
And the aggressiveness, I think, needs to come out.
Like, a lot of times we see him, I think, waiting for balls to come to him,
instead of being that more aggressive receiver that goes out and gets it.
And so I think that's what I'm waiting to see from Rome.
I think he feels all the pressure in the world.
Luther, I love Luther.
I love his personality.
I love his play style.
I think he, he becomes.
the DJ more. And so I could equally
seeing him being wide receiver one just based off of the
physicality. I think you make a really good point with the catching style of
Rome. It's different from what we saw in college. How many times would you see Rome
go up and get it in college? Double team, triple team didn't matter. You're
facing a different secondary. You know, the University of Washington and you
are in the NFL. But that was what set him apart. Was that
Pennix could throw it up there and he knew that Rome would do that. And I don't
think we've seen that kind of, even though it's been, it's been something they've worked on.
I don't think he and Caleb Williams are at that point yet, because a lot of what you're
catching is a runner's ball, as you mentioned. Well, the runners ball is equally on Caleb Williams,
because I feel like Ben Johnson has vocalized that too. He always said it when referring to Jordan
Love that Jordan Love is so good at a runner's ball. And it's like, you, you know that he wants
Caleb to do that next year. Like that is part of the progression of his quarterback is giving his
receivers runners balls because there's plenty of times where we saw receivers open or
running into open space. It was like, throw the ball, like throw the ball to the spot.
And he just didn't release it soon enough. And he always seemed a little timid in that sense, too, in my
opinion. I always love hearing the national perspective on the bears because sometimes it's wildly
off and hilarious. And sometimes it's spot on. Your time at the combine, did you talk to people on
the national level that gave insights on our humble football team here in Chicago? The two quotes that
stood out to me most were from Rich Eisen who you know what we're trying to get a feel from
what what's the national narrative around the Bears what should their window to compete for a Super Bowl
be and Rich Eisen said something great he was like back in 2018 with Nagy and Trubisky like I felt
like I needed to see more he said after watching this past season with Caleb Williams and Ben
Johnson I've seen enough I don't need to see anything more like these are the guys these are the ones
that are going to bring a Super Bowl back to Chicago.
It's the Ben Johnson safety valve is so nice.
It is.
Because with all this, like, all that is going on right now
where you don't have your offensive line intact right now,
you just lost maybe your best wide receiver.
It's like, oh, yeah, but there's Ben Johnson.
He makes guys better.
But also Ryan Poles saying, like,
they're going to meet with coaches, see what Ben Johnson wants.
I think Ben Johnson's going to be like,
for my offense to operate, I need a center.
Like, that's what he had in Detroit with Frank Ragnow.
And we can talk about the,
the retirement of Frank Ragnow, which came at a way different point in the offseason or right before the season.
But that is such an integral part of how his offense is run is having a center that can handle everything at the line of scrimmage.
Remember when Caleb Williams had to handle that all his rookie season?
And that was a, everyone was like, why is this rookie being tasked with all of this?
Well, he didn't have to do it all in his second year.
And it allowed him to play more free and allow the protections to just be more accurate and right and read defenses better.
And so you need that center position, in my opinion, more than anything.
The other good quote that we had was from Mike Florio.
And he said the window is unlimited when you have Caleb Williams.
So whether or not he's on a rookie contract, whether or not they have to pay him.
Like you got your quarterback.
Some of the stuff that we saw he believes is more magic than Mahomes.
And so really the possibilities are endless when you have your guy at quarterback.
The limit does not exist.
Yes.
We're talking to Cassie Carlson.
She hosts a show, by the way, called the office.
season with Cassie Carlson. Does that air tonight? It does. It airs tonight at 6 o'clock on Fox
Local and you can watch it on the Fox 32 YouTube page. We're having Dan Weider on tonight along
with Olin Crutes. I know him. I know both of those guys. So no better person to talk about
Drew Dalman's retirement as he's been on the score all week than Olin Crutes. Except our show.
Except the midday show. I didn't mean to bring it up. No, we've been laughing about it because
we've got to get our time in with Olin at some point because he was on the morning show and the
afternoon show as you know. How about Weezy, man? Like he did the morning show today. Apparently he's doing
an hour here. He's doing your show. That man needs a break. He's joined us Monday as well.
He's not with us Monday. That's right. Dan Weirer does not get a break and he'll be on the offseason
with Cassie Carlson tonight. Weezy. I think we have time for this. So I'm going to make a judgment
call. I want to play back the interview you did with Ryan Poles where you talked to Ryan
polls about, oh, this is DJ Moore.
Okay, I thought it was DJ Moore.
It was Darnell Wright.
So let's do that next then.
Let's talk about Darnell Wright next because I think his position on this line is just
as pivotal as everything else that's going on when it comes to trying to figure out who they
might sign and where and how.
So Darnell Wright, Cassie Carlson's conversation with him, and then more from just her
impressions from the Combine and the impressions of a wild week in Bearsland.
Next.
Can you imagine Lovie Smith doing the whole good, better, best thing?
And saying bleep the Packers.
Come on, guys, good better best.
Never let it rest.
I'll see on Tuesday.
Middays 10 to 2 on 1043, the score.
More Rihanna for Cassie Carlson.
By the way, I just want to give you this one note.
She does say it's Rihanna.
That's how you pronounce her name.
Well, that's better for Chicago.
Rihanna.
Rihanna.
Rihanna.
lot of stuff cooler than we do.
Is it Rihanna or Rihanna?
Rihanna. I say Rihanna, but Rihanna is still okay.
So it's all good by Rihanna.
It's like my guy Dan Levy.
Levy.
It's not.
Has anybody ever called you Casey?
Every day.
Really?
Yeah, I respond to it.
I respond to it.
That's shocking.
You've learned to just accept it.
You're just like, whatever.
Well, after you like correct someone like once, you're like, I can't keep correcting.
Yeah.
That's what happens in sports a lot.
It does.
like guys just accept the mispronunciation of their name because everybody does it.
And at some point, especially in that, it felt it's embarrassing to like correct everybody.
And then their mom's like, no, it's actually this.
Oh, yeah.
Yeah.
Whose mom was it that did that?
There was a...
I feel like this happened to a bear recently.
It was.
Good.
There was a bears...
Oh, I remember who was.
It was Mitch Trubisky's mom who said his name is Mitchell.
Mitchell.
It's like Matthew Stafford.
It's not Matt Stafford.
Exactly.
That's our desire to one syllable quarterback names.
Tom Brady.
Nice and easy.
Yeah.
That's the desire for the one syllable quarterback name.
Although I have called Matt Stafford, Matt Stafford forever.
Like going back to probably just college days,
just because that was always how he was named.
Maddie.
Matthew.
Matthew.
That one might take a while.
But good to know about Rihanna.
Rihanna.
Then I just sound like I'm trying to imitate her.
Well, I'm stumbling.
out of the gate. This is Cassie Carlson. She's on with us today. Watch her show tonight on Fox 32,
the offseason with Cassie Carlson. We also have some news that just keeps coming from the NFL,
and it's in the division. This is for me in Rappaport. Lion's veteran left tacker,
Taylor Decker announced that he will be released. Taylor Decker put out a statement on his
Instagram page so you can see that for yourself, but Taylor Decker no longer going to be
the Lions left tackle. Played for Ben Johnson. He's been very, very,
durable since 2022 has played in at least, well, he played in 14 games last year, 14, the previous
year is 15, 17, so who knows?
That frees up some cap space for the lions, who, according to my over-the-cap.com, salary
table of the NFL, and I know there are some updates to be made here, this morning when I
put this page up, the lions are $6.5 million over, so that would free up some space for
them according to that.
Everybody in the division, man, it's wild.
the Vikings, like, ridiculously over the cap.
The bears were, the lions.
What you got, Green Bay?
Can you get over the cap?
I don't even know what Green Bay Sitch is right now.
I'll tell you, because I've got the table.
Nice, nice.
Green Bay's situation is that they are $4.3 million under.
Because, of course, they are.
I feel like they're always under.
Right.
We hadn't been hearing much.
Yeah, that's, well, and the extended Gunacun-Cuncton, Matt LaFlor.
Remember when that was a fun piece of drama,
whether or not Matt LaFleur's job was on the line?
But then he got the B minus on the report card.
Was that his grade?
He got a B minus.
It went down.
See, that's good, though.
I want to get to the point where that's the way we're grading our coach,
because there's an expectation in Green Bay, right?
They're expected to win, expected to go to the playoffs.
A B minus still gets you to the playoffs.
I guess so.
I mean, are you kidding?
Kevin Stefanski, the grade was a C minus.
It gets you another job.
Two-time head coach of the year and you get another job.
That player survey does matter to me.
I'm glad you brought that up because I feel like it does help you gauge what what you see on the field a bit.
Well, and like we were surprised.
I was surprised at least to see that Dennis Allen got a C plus because I thought we were all giving him credit for finding ways to make the defense work when he had all these injuries.
And apparently players felt differently about him.
Yeah, that was surprising as well.
I want to get to this because I like receipts and you did a lot of work.
So we're going to bring them.
As much as I've hoped for Tyler Linderbaum, for example, you and Ryan Poles, Cassie talked on
Box 32 about the very real situation. This is pre-Drewdalman's retirement. This is at the combine
about Darnel Wright, who is a big piece of this financially and for the future. We talked about
the offensive line. Darnall Wright was a huge piece of that as well, knowing that he's up for
an extension. Is that a priority for you this offseason? Yeah, it's definitely a priority.
There's a lot going on right now. We'll eventually start having those conversations.
It's been cool because anytime you have a new coaching staff come in, you're hoping that they
saw the same vision as you did.
And in terms of Ben, Dan Rochard, Kyle, the van, they share that vision.
Not only, you know, we're excited about where he's at, but we're really excited of what
Darnow can be.
If he continues to put in the work that he has been, we think he can be, you know, a really
talented tackle in this league and help us win championships.
Okay, so before we get to that thought, we have more news in the division from Adam
Schefter.
The Packers Edge, Rashon Gary, announced on Instagram that.
he is leaving Green Bay.
Whoa. Wow.
He's 28.
Let's read this statement.
Green Bay.
When I got the call in 2019,
it was one of the greatest moments of my life and it always will be.
The opportunity to represent Green Bay and Packers Nation across the country and around the world
is something I will never forget.
Like all chapters in life,
this one has come to an end.
I want to thank everyone who supported me and my family throughout the years.
The love, the energy, and the memories mean more than words can explain.
on to my next stop.
Nowhere near done yet.
That's in bold.
And then he busted out the measurements.
All 6'5-275 can't wait, signed Rishon, Bain, Gary.
What was that mean?
A combine for free agents.
A free agent combine would be awesome.
Oh, people would attend that.
Let's see how they stack up now.
Interesting.
And then a free agent combine for guys who think they still got it.
Right.
You're not in the lead right now, but you feel like you still got it.
That will be a separate combine.
So what does that all mean?
Does it mean he's going to go do
like broadcasting or like what?
No, I think he wants more.
He just wants out of Green Bay.
You don't remind people you're six foot five for no reason.
Yeah.
Okay.
Wow.
He had seven and a half sacks last season,
but they were all in the early part and he really dropped off in the second half.
And I know in Green Bay they were a little bit disappointed because you have Michael Parsons.
And they thought that that what we're looking for in Chicago,
someone opposite of Montez sweat who can take the chips off of him.
For Rashon Gary, then not to be productive when he had Micah Parsons,
I think a lot of people viewed his season as really disappointing.
So Rashon Gary's, because I think it's because of the contract.
You know, I feel like it was kind of the same way Montez Sweat was treated last year.
And you're right, Cassie, there was a lot of discontent when it came to how few sacks Gary was producing.
I respected him because I felt like he was rushing Caleb Williams a lot.
Like there was the one-two punch of Micah Parsons and then he was getting in Caleb Williams' face.
Even though he wasn't getting home, the pressures were still there.
But it's the contract that might have been the issue.
Four years at $96 million.
So that, I think, was a big part of the reason a lot of fans had the feeling they did about him.
And that contract was supposed to go.
That was 2023 through 2027.
He seems like such a perfect compliment, though, to Michael Parsons.
You're right, Cassie, though.
I mean, he did drop off and he never did get, just looking at the number.
He never was a double-digit sack.
I think nine and a half was the most.
So I always had a healthy fear of him, though, like from a bear's perspective going into game.
So this is, I think, good news from a bear's perspective.
I just respected what he still did.
He would still change a play.
Even if he didn't get home, he would still be disruptive enough.
But I'm not paying him the 96 mil.
No.
What, $19.5 million this year?
So that's big because I guess that means that last year of the contract.
I wonder if it was, I don't have the numbers right in front of me as far as.
the cap hit versus what he was going to get paid.
Because SpotRack already updated.
Dang it.
But that is big news.
Out of both the Lions with Taylor Decker
and the Packers with Roshan Gary.
Wait a second.
What are the Packers freeing up room for?
It's just scary.
And we're talking about that on the air or off the air,
about all the room that the Packers have
or they do have some room, right?
I believe we were on the air.
Oh, it was on the air?
Okay.
These conversations are mostly eligible for off the air as well.
So you just never know.
Yeah, usually what we're talking about during a break, just in case you're wondering as a listener, is more football.
Yeah, except for the coconut oil hair thing you guys were talking about.
So Cassie knows, as somebody who has hair that you have to style for television.
It's tough.
It takes a toll.
It could just break off one day, Grody.
Hey, I've got the advanced SUV if you guys want some graphs of hair.
FUE.
I've got the FUE.
If you guys need some extra hair, I've got it.
I don't personally have it, but I've got it.
You know what?
I use a hair growth serum because I needed it after my hair was super damaged.
There are various reasons why you need help grow in your hair, okay?
Okay.
So I use one.
I don't begrudge you guys that.
I just want people to know the conversations that are really had.
Yes.
So it was that, yeah, hair products.
I gave Cassie a wreck because you seriously end up with no hair.
Like after a couple years in TV.
Like, don't look too close.
It's all broken off.
Yeah, mine was like not long at all.
Like now it is because I don't heat curling irons and stuff.
Yeah.
It's really hard.
a girl Grody.
Yeah.
You guys do, yeah, see, I'm just like,
I'm a four and one guy.
I got everything I need in one bottle.
You guys can't do that.
Doesn't work that way.
Are you using pert plus plus out here?
What year is this?
Perth plus plus plus is what it is.
Talk about that with your advanced FUE people.
I eat it. I mean, it's like great.
It's beautiful.
Okay, so I think we have a little bit of time
when Cassie left before we have to let
her go. But I did want to ask you about
that Dernel Wright conversation because for Ryan
Pulse to bring that up, I wonder
how much that affects who they look
foreign center and how they figure out the left tackle situation. Yeah, I mean, I more so brought it up,
honestly, because like this was Ryan Poles' third interview in a matter of like 30 minutes with Bears
media. And I'm like, all right, he's talked about everything. Like, how do we talk about something else?
And I go back to the combine two years ago when Ben Johnson was just hired. And he, which he does
frequently is just bring things up, I think very intentionally said he saw Darnel write like Pena Sewell.
and I think with the bears and Darnel Wright in particular,
like we all see the talent and, you know,
listening back to that one sound bite now,
I kind of laugh because he said there are some other needs we need to address.
Maybe that was a little foreshadowing of Ryan Poles,
knowing that he was going to have to find a center as well,
that I just think they're wanting to see consistency from Darnel, right?
And they keep saying, like, we just, we want to see him keep working hard
and keep doing other things because they describe him as a unicorn.
He played with one arm this year.
And I think we all saw him.
The one-arm guy.
Yeah, the one-arm.
Grady was very big into the one-arm conversation.
I asked him to name his Mount Rushmore of one-arm guys earlier this week.
Guess who just made it on there?
Darned all right.
Technically he has two arms, though.
Technically, Leila.
But for his time with one arm, we honor him.
He can do the cartwheels.
Don't ask him about it.
But the talent is obviously there, and I think he's been a huge part of the
offensive line and the consistency that they were able to find on the right side.
And I love, I think he likes playing in this system, too.
like he had the best quote about Ben Johnson and why Ben gets the best out of offensive linemen.
And it was because he gives them specific like tasks and examples on it.
If you do this, it will unlock this for the entire play and the entire offense.
And he was like to have something tangible where you can like envision your role when you don't have stats was huge for him and his progress.
Says a lot about the coaching staff too.
And Dan Rocher, I'm sure is a part of that as well.
That is Cassie Carlson.
Nice enough to join us for the whole hour here on Rahimi Harrison,
Grotie. You can catch the offseason with Cassie Carlson tonight, airing at what times and where.
Yeah, you can catch it at 6 o'clock on Fox Local and the Fox 32 YouTube page with Dan Wheater and
Olen Cruz. Thanks, Cassie. Thanks for having me. This is fun. Yeah, thanks for hanging out.
Yeah, fun Friday. Let me know how the L'Oreal pre-shamper. Yeah, I let you know. Very important.
I want the best for both of you in your hair. I really do. I've always said that. Mine is healthy
now because I don't have to heat style it every day. I did the cheek coat. You're in recovery.
To get it back, that's what I use was the Loreal pre-champer. I'm going to
the store.
All right, clues.
There you go.
You got a recommendation.
We help people out here.
It's what we do.
Cassie helps us by getting us Bears sound, which is very important and we'll help her however we
can.
Yes.

29 years old, right?
He's still in his 20s.
On top of that, he's got, you know, he's had a relationship with Joe Brady.
He said over 1,000 yards with him.
He's had over 90 catches three times in his career.
So I love it.
Yeah, I mean, for that perspective, I mean, they're getting a good player.
And look what happened in the playoffs last year, that big time catch he made, right, against the Packers, was it?
And overtime or at the end of the year?
That is the voice of our next guest, Sal Capaccio.
He joins us here on Rahimi, Harris, and Grody.
Not only on our hotline, but he is also on Twitch.

dot TV slash the score Chicago, Sal's podcast is called.
It's always game day in Buffalo.
And there seems to be a lot of news as well.
Sal, thank you for joining us.
Always love being on the Twitch and loving on the score.
Thanks, guys.
Appreciate you.
Sal is also our bills reporter for our Odyssey Sister Station, WGR 550.
So to start, I mentioned this earlier to our co-host, Mark Brody, Sal.
How much do you think just the emotional loss that the
bill suffered to the Broncos, motivated them to make a change and try to add to the team
the way they did that ultimately resulted in the DJ more deal.
I don't know about the specific personnel and how much that loss impacted.
I think the overall season and not having enough that wide receiver was more about it.
I mean, they still did score with 30 points in that game.
I do think, though, the emotion of the loss did lead to the changes of Sean McDermott,
obviously, no longer being the head coach.
And now Joe Brady comes in and even, you know, owner Terry Begoula said that.
He said that when he walked in the locker room and he saw the emotion and it was the most emotional locker room I've ever been in as well that they felt they hit the proverbial playoff wall and something needed to change.
So it was really more about getting a new voice in and thinking you've gone as far as you can with Sean McDermott and maybe taking a fresh approach.
But as far as this personnel decision and trading for DJ Moore, I think that's just more about the fact that their wide receivers just did not, you know, have the kind of season that they thought they would have from that group last year, especially considering a Keon Coleman who didn't step up.
in his second year.
Sal, what do you think of the move?
Getting DJ Moore
giving up a second round pick.
What did you think?
What's your opinion on it?
And how is it being taken in in Buffalo?
So I really like the player.
I've always liked the player.
I think DJ Moore is a really good football player.
He offers something that bills desperately need a vertical threat.
You know, there's not many guys in the league of some of the numbers
analytically down the field that DJ Moore has.
The bills have desperately needed that.
He kind of becomes their number one receiver right away, to my point earlier.
I mean, he'll kind of overtake that spot from, you know, where Khalil Shakir has
has been basically who's a nice solid player.
I don't love the compensation.
I do think it's quite a bit.
It seems a bit heavy for me to trade a second round pick.
But as I reminded listeners today, you know, I have to also keep in the same space,
which is the bills aren't a team that's, you know, got a rookie quarterback or a second year quarterback
that they're trying to build here.
They're trying to win now.
They're trying to win a Super Bowl now.
And, you know, a second round pick, you don't know what could become of that.
It could be great or it could be taking a while.
They're not in the mood to take a while anymore.
They're trying to win.
So that's the price that you do to have to pay to get a proven commodity in here, you know, to help the passing game of Josh Allen, then that's what you do.
Yeah, Sal, I think that that's a lot of what I saw, just the fan reaction and commentary in Buffalo was that a lot of people thought it was an overpay, especially when you consider how much of the bills backing up DJ more salary for years.
You know, this is a multi-year commitment for them.
How much do you take that into consideration just given their situation with the cap and then how this is going to be put together?
Yeah, I don't really care too much about the cap part of it.
Again, they're trying to win a Super Bowl.
And if the bills, you know, flags fly forever.
And if you get a Lombardi trophy and you've had how many years here with Josh Allen
and they haven't been able to do that.
And if you're able to get one, that it doesn't matter, you know, about the cap.
I'm not saying they should be reckless, but you have to be aggressive right now.
How many more years do you have of Josh Allen?
And let's be honest, guys.
We all know, we're seeing it today around the league.
Lever's can be pulled and pushed and structured contracts all the time to create cap space, right?
So while the Rams and Seahawks are out there going heck with them picks, the bills are out here going, heck with the salary cap.
We've got to figure out how to make sure we make our team better right now.
We'll deal with that a little bit later.
But no, they're going to have to pay for it.
Today, they just released Terran Johnson.
And that's going to be a big dead cap hit for them because of his restructure.
They have a decision to make on Dawson Knox.
That's going to be a dead cap hit or restructure that's going to cost them some money.
So you do have to pay for it.
But at the same time, you can't worry about that when you're trying to win a Super Bowl.
Yeah, well, the salary cap space has been all the rage here.
Trust me on that, including the most recent one, which was the Bears releasing Tremaine Edmonds,
who you are wholly familiar with as well.
That created 15 mil, though, for the Bears in Capspace.
I would refer to him, and I want to know your opinion on his career since you saw it up close and personal.
Steady, if not spectacular, and probably never really quite lived up to his four-year,
$72 million contract, great leader, all of that stuff.
but what have you thought about Tremaine Edmonds's career relative to the fact that he was a first round draft pick?
So it's so amazing we're having this discussion.
I mean, it's like deja vu all over again because Tremaine Evans for five years in Buffalo,
really nice player, but the criticism of him, and I fully agree, he just never made really impactful plays,
game-changing plays.
Solid player, you know, he could, he was there, he was generally available, had a couple injuries along the way,
but he never truly made a difference, like a first round pick that his size and his
athleticism, he's been making game-changing
plays. The bills moved down from him.
They go to a smaller linebacker and
Terrell Bernard and maybe you don't get all
that consistency, but he made game-changing plays
and recoveries of fumbles and interception. It was kind
of funny for that. He goes to
Chicago and I actually think watching him from afar
maybe he made a few more of those kind of
splash plays, but not enough.
And it was a lot of money and he's still young
after all these years, still 27.
I know, right? I've always
believed, and I've always said this,
that I always felt Tremaine Edmonds was most
suited for a 3-4 inside linebacker role than a 4-3 middle or weak side linebacker roll.
I actually think that suits him better.
So what's ironic is the bills are going to transition back to a 3-4 under Jim Leonard.
I don't think they're going to revisit Tremendman.
I don't think that.
But I do think he'd actually fit in the bill's defense now, maybe better than he did then.
Well, I think that's a fair point.
That was part of the issue here.
We thought that he was going to be a fit just for Matt Eberfluse's defense.
That was originally why he was brought in.
you know, Roquan Smith famously traded.
We know the career he's had in Baltimore.
And he did have a better season out of his respective years here, Sal,
than what he had the first two.
You know, this last year, I feel like Dennis Allen put him in a position to succeed a little bit more.
The fact that you think he could fit that scheme is still a compliment to what you think he still may have left in the tank.
Yeah, and I mean, look, again, he's super young.
I know he's been in the league quite a while, but, you know, Tremaine, he's always seemed to take care of his body.
He's been generally available.
Like I said, I know he did a couple injuries he dealt with in Chicago,
but it's not like he's chronically hurt all the time.
So, yeah, I think he can still go and help a team,
but I think you have to be very careful about, you know,
paying this guy top end of the market like the Bears did
and why the bills moved on, you know, at the time.
So I think he can still play.
By the way, tremendous person to, I mean, you guys got to know Tramaine probably.
I've got to know his mom and dad,
Cookie, his mom and his dad, Farrell Admin's tight end for the Miami Dolphins
back of the day when they used to play against the bills and Jim
Kelly and that was a good rivalry. So really great family, family of football players. So I wish
to remain the best of luck. I agree with that. Yeah, the same here in Chicago. Very accessible,
always very pleasant. I mean, a pro's pro. And then we all know that in every locker room
needs one or two of those guys. And Edmonds was definitely one of those guys. Sal, I want to ask you
about the patience level in Buffalo. I mean, just in general, like, it's been a hell of a run
for the Buffalo Bills. But unfortunately, or fortunately, however you want to look at,
at it. I'm assuming the bar is
win Super Bowl, right? It's not
it's not get to, well, maybe it's get to
Super Bowl too. What, how
is Bill's mafia feeling
right now about this team? Are they
just enjoying the ride or is there
frustration? Oh, there's
plenty of frustration. I mean, there's, there
were a lot of people who wanted Shaw McDermott and Buffalo
fired, you know, a couple of years ago and I was always
thinking you were taking crazy pills if you wanted that.
This guy was a great coach and one division
titles and, you know, but you have
Josh Allen, a generational quarterback who
let's face it, you know, does not come around very often.
And now you have a really good one in Chicago and Caleb Williams and you see that.
And you're like, okay, what can you do to help this kid, you know, get to a Lombardi?
And the bills have had Josh Allen now and turning 30 years old this year.
And there's where the frustration comes in, which is, man, you've had all these cracks at it last year.
No MoMA Holmes, no Lamar Jackson, no Joe Burrow.
You know, the bills still get to a certain point.
So there's a lot of frustration.
What's funny is last year it turned more away from Shaw McDermick, because people felt he did a really good job with some of the injuries, especially and more towards Brandon Bean.
the roster building. And when Sean was fired and Brandon got a promotion, that created a tough
reaction here in Buffalo by a lot of fans. But you know, Joe Brady was hired. And I'll say from my
perspective, and I'm a big Sean McDermott fan. I think he's a really good coach. And Sean did a lot
for this organization. They wouldn't be where they are now without what he did. But I think
Sean, there's a certain like pressure about him, the way he goes about his business and the way that he's
such a grinder that I think the building and the bills needed a little bit of a popping the balloon
relief, so to speak. And I think Joe Brayne.
he brings that type of refreshness to be able to kind of breathe a little bit.
And I think people are expecting and hoping that's going to help them because, yeah,
you can't make this move and say we're going, we're moving on from Shaw McDermott,
wildly successful head coach in his own regard here because he couldn't get to a Super Bowl
and then not expect the next guy to get to a Super Bowl.
That has to be the bar.
That's the only way around it.
You're right, Sal.
And we're talking to Sal Capaccio with the Bills reporter for Odyssey Sister Station, WGR 550.
that logic really came to light, I think, when John Harbaugh became available.
Because then there was a discussion about whether or not Harbaugh was going to go to Buffalo.
And the discussion then became centered around, you haven't gotten to a Super Bowl with Lamar Jackson.
So would that have been as well received maybe as Joe Brady where at least there's a hope and not yet a track record out?
Like how was the Harbaugh discussion in Buffalo compared to just the national observation of it?
So when the bills moved on from Shaw McDermott,
My opinion was they could only hire one of two types of coaches.
This is it.
You can either only hire a guy who's won a Super Bowl and has a ring and said,
I know what it takes to get there.
I'll show you because I've done it before.
Or a first-time head coach who hasn't been there but not done it, if that makes sense.
Because otherwise, why did you fire Sean McDermott?
Right.
It just didn't make sense.
So, yeah, there are definitely Bill's fans who wanted John Harbour or even Mike Tomlin.
But, you know, those guys, their Super Bowl appearances were so long ago.
And John Harbaugh, as you said, did have Lamar Jackson,
who Sean McDermott and Josh Allen have beaten in the playoffs, you know?
Also, I understand and respect, and I'm a big John Harbaugh fan too for what he's done,
and Mike Tomlin.
But I think what the Bills did here was say, it's beyond head coach.
You're seeing what they're doing at the defense.
I think at the end of the day, the Bills organization didn't just move on from Strommerton
because of him as a head coach.
It was more about wanting a different defense.
And the only way you can change the defense is to change out the head coach because it's his defense.
That's really good stuff.
Yeah.
It's compelling just because that became part of it.
And then I think about the connection that Brady has with DJ Moore going back to Carolina.
Yes.
How much do you look at that, knowing what he did there, knowing what those two did there with not the ideal quarterback situation,
quite possibly the opposite of Josh Allen at the time, and that potential being there because he clearly values him still?
Yeah, Brady is a big, you know, DJ Moore fan.
And I do think that he's going to try to revisit, you know, what they were able to do in, I think it was 2020 together when they were in Carolina.
and they were successful.
He used them down the field.
He used them in different ways.
And DJ Moore, obviously, as you guys know,
is a good down the field type of wide receiver
who the bills can fit in.
I will say, though,
the bills also signed Curtis Samuel two off seasons ago
for the same reason where he worked with Joe Brady had success.
And that has not come to fruition.
So there's people in Buffalo going,
wait a minute, like we tried this.
Curtis Samuel, it's not going to work with DJ Moore.
But I do think they're a different player.
And the bills, oh, by the way,
we're hearing today that they're moving on from Curtis Samuel,
ironically, today saving over $6 million in salary cap space.
So yeah, for sure, this move doesn't happen unless Joe Brady basically goes to
Brandon Bean or Brandon Bean goes to him.
And they have a discussion about, hey, let's look into and bring in DJ Moore.
Have there been players commenting on DJ Moore, like via Instagram or social media
or any kind of reaction to DJ Moore coming to the Buffalo Bills?
I have not seen it from current bills.
I can't remember who it was.
I apologize.
Someone actually did tweet about how he was a teammate of DJ Moore.
and he'll fit so well in the locker room in Buffalo.
Somebody had been here and said that.
I can't remember who it was.
So I think that that's been the biggest endorsement,
but I have not seen anything else from anybody else necessarily on the bills.
So when we talk about the bills and saying they need a wide receiver one cell,
and you're talking about his potential,
what's your level of confidence one to 10 on whether or not they got one in DJ?
See, I don't think DJ Moore is a traditional wide receiver one.
Like he's not Justin Jefferson.
He's not Jamar Chase.
You guys will probably agree with that.
Like he's a little below them.
I still think there's room for the bills to try and get one of those.
But how do you get one?
I'm not sure because now you just spent your capital there.
The bills might not be done.
Maybe they may say, look.
And you guys remember the viral clip last year of Brandon Bean and the radio thing about
wide receiver?
That was our station, right?
I mean, he comes on our station and he says,
hey, you know, you guys are always complaining about wide receiver.
But then what happened at wide receiver was,
I mean, at the end of the year, the reports were the bills tried to
trade for Giel and Waddle within the division.
I mean, he was trying to add actively.
So I think to answer your question, it's,
look, I think DJ Moore is the top of the bills depth chart,
but I don't consider him like a true number one.
I do a lot of these guys around the league.
I still think the bills have to add.
It doesn't mean they're going to be able to add above him,
but you have DJ Moore, you've Khalil Shakir,
then a lot of question marks.
I'm not convinced that Keon Coleman's on this team in 2026, to be quite honest with you.
I mean, it's been two years.
I mean, the guy's been benched a couple of times for, you know,
tardiness.
And even Brandon Bina in the Combine said,
hey, you know, they're back in him and they believe in him,
but you can't let his immaturity issues still affect him on the field.
So I'm not convinced he's even, so what do you do with him?
I'm not really sure where he fits.
Wow, wow.
Well, one of the guys that is on the roster right now, I think still for the Buffalo Bill,
kind of is Connor McGovern.
I don't know, you've been hearing about our center issues here in Chicago with Drew Dolman
having abruptly retired, but is Connor McGovern going to be available shortly?
Actually, just had your guy, Chris Emma on with me this morning.
So we talked about this a little bit.
So there you go.
The synergy is real, man.
I've got to tell you.
Yeah, for sure.
You know, Chris and I have caught up a few times at the combine and over the years.
We chat Buffalo and Chicago sports all the time, especially because we both love hockey so much.
But, you know, I'll tell you what, Connor McGovern is a really, really good football player, and he can play.
He's very versatile.
I think he wants to stay in Buffalo, but the fact is the bills just don't have the kind of money to be able to do that.
And he's going to get a good contract on the open market.
And it's just one of those situations where the bills drafted a center two years ago from Georgia.
Cedric Van Pren Granger.
He's been in their system for two years.
He's been a backup.
It's probably time for him to take over on a rookie contract.
They have Alec Anderson waiting in the wings also,
who's going to probably play guard for David Edwards
is going to leave as a free agent.
So I think they have to go kind of have a bit of a change here
to lower their numbers on the offensive line.
Their salary numbers because of where they are with the cap.
Connor McGovern, when he was in Dallas,
I believe he played center.
Actually, he grew up as a center.
He played guard.
He played a little tackle, and he played fullback at one point.
think. He's that kind of an athlete
guy. So if you do get
Connor McGovern in Chicago,
I think that is a perfect kind of fit for
a younger quarterback and Caleb
Williams, who oh, by the way,
runs around it a little bit, you know,
understands it, he's mobile, Connor McGovern
is blocked for a guy like that. I think it would fit.
See, that was the question because,
you know, Tyler Linderbaum right now may be the
gold standard as far as center free agent.
But the price he's going to command
is going to be wild. So
the likelihood of getting him is also
a certain percentage. And people like McGovern. So to hear that you think he would be a good fit
here, that's a big deal. Yeah, especially. I mean, again, he has versatility. Like, he actually was,
he was the bill starting guard while Mitch Morris was the center. Mitch retired. Actually, I'm sorry,
he went to Jacksonville first, then he retired. And then Connor, excuse me, Connor McGovern
slid over to center. So that just tells you how, you know, versatile he can be. So, and I know in
Chicago, you know, there have been issues in the offensive line over the last few years and
questions and things happening. Maybe that's,
the kind of guy that can kind of really
you can have available and figure out how you want to do it.
But I would say that if you sign Connor McGovern,
that's a nice,
stable piece for their offensive line for several years.
Just going at large with the NFL
because we're all, as fans of the NFL,
interested in the big names like Max Crosby
and around here, Tyler Lindervaum
as well. What do you think about Max Crosby
and Trey Hendrickson, like,
where you think that they would land and just what's going on
with those guys? Yeah, I could
see the Bears poking in on on Max Crosby.
I mean, it's kind of funny because, you know, with the whole Kalil Mack thing and people
making parallels to that, you know, several years ago.
And, you know, he's a guy that I think the bears could put in their defense and be really
good right away.
Trey Hendrickson as well, like, you need any, every defense needs pass rushers.
What's interesting here in Buffalo is they've tried to get their hands at a pass rusher
in multiple ways over the last several years, whether that's drafting Greg Russo,
who's a nice player, by the way, he's done a really good job.
We're signing Von Miller to a huge contract, who was really awesome until he got hurt.
We're signing Joey Bosa last year.
And it hasn't come to fruition.
So people here in Buffalo, oh my God, get Trey Hendrickson, get Max Crosby.
But man, the compensation is going to be really high.
And then, or, you know, whether that's a trade or money.
But here in Buffalo, I think because of Jim Leonard coming in and the style of defense he wants to run,
I wonder if they feel they have to take that big swing or if maybe the defense itself
will kind of be able to mitigate that and take care of it with the past rush.
But you can never go wrong having a guy like a Max Crosby or Trey Hendrickson.
Those guys, their motors are great.
They're really good at what they do.
can never have enough pass rushers in this league.
Well, guys, be ready for the statute starting to hear names like Max Crosby and
Trey Hendrickson associated with the Green Bay Packers.
Nothing has happened yet with Rishon Gary.
Not a trade.
He hasn't been released yet.
Anything like that.
But they are looking to clear some space in Green Bay.
And Michael Parsons might have a partner on that line.
I wonder if Trey Hendrickson, if Indy would be a fit with Lou Aniromo there.
You know, his former defensive coordinator in Cincinnati.
So I do wonder if that's something.
You know, you always have to look for these connections, right?
Yeah.
Sal Capaccio, thank you so much for joining us.
Also, Sal is a, it can be done,
got a broadcast from a new stadium next season.
Yeah, we're not there yet, Sal.
It's been a long dance and a journey.
The Bears bought land in 2023.
They haven't built anything yet.
But the renderings of the stadium in Buffalo look pretty amazing.
They are amazing.
I had this discussion with Chris this morning for this very reason,
because we went through this, you know, and I know they're going through it in Cleveland.
They finally got it over the hump a little bit there.
And I know you guys are going through that in Chicago, Kansas City.
They're moving states.
Maybe Chicago is going to move states, you know, so to speak with what they're doing it.
I know it's tough.
And look, and the second part of it, once it happens, and it's going to happen at some point,
then you get the sticker shock of the PSLs, right?
And then the prices and what people want and the paying for it.
But look, from our stadium for what we, this is special here.
There's never a threat that Chicago Bears wouldn't be the Chicago Bears.
leave Chicago, so to speak, and I know we're talking about moving a little bit down the road.
That's always been a threat. Since I was a kid growing up, I was always told the NFL wouldn't
stay in Buffalo because it's too small a market, and they can't make enough money there.
Now, I have a 12-year-old sundown. I get emotional thinking about this because he can now,
I know he can enjoy the Buffalo Bills for the next, you know, 30 years of his life when it was
always scared and we were always worried that that wouldn't happen. So to get this stadium here,
and it is going to be beautiful. No, there's no dome on it. It's going to be 64% of the seats will be
covered by the canopy. And it's going to be fantastic. All of the things you see in these new
stadiums, they're going to have it here in Buffalo, and we're really excited about it.
Yeah, well, enough seats. More seats than previously will be covered, and that will be a good thing.
Sell, thank you so much for joining us. Thanks, Sal, thanks for being nice to Chris Emma.
Appreciate you. You got it anytime. And he's nice to me. Thanks a lot, guys. Enjoy your weekend.
Thanks, Sal. That is the benevolent, Sal Capaccio, from our sister station.
The synergy today going on between these two Odyssey stations.
I was on the morning show with Jeremy and Joe.
Shout out to Jeremy and Joe.
Sal Capaccio had Emma on.
And then Sal Capaccio came on our show.
See how all that works, Ray?
Nice job, Ray.

Breakfast, dinner, it's technically midnight, but I'm still hungry.
Doesn't matter.
There's just something unbeatable about a good steak hitting a hot pan.
That immediate sizzle.
The smell filling the kitchen.
And then topping it with a fried egg where the yolk is deep yellow and just barely runny.
Unreal.

Rahimi Harrison Grody.
I don't want to break time. I want to yell about you.
Can we handle more Anthony Herron?
Midday's 10 to 2 on 104-3, the score.
This is R Us.
Rahimi Harrison Rody on 104-3 The Score.
And it's not Chris Tannahill's Goodfellas treatment.
Mark did make a cameo in that for DJ yesterday.
It's not Tyler Bueberbaugh's open that he produced for us,
where you made an appearance in that as well.
It was a beautiful open.
It was indeed.
This is Mark Rody, Dan Weiderer, and DJ Moore, the greatest hits.
It's an album.
It is.
It's Time Life.
You know, they're going to scroll across your screen.
in yellow font, only one font, because it's the 70s.
And only four songs right now on the album, it looks like.
Yeah, so you're not getting an anthology.
Oh, five, my bad.
Like you would in Time Life.
But this is what we have.
Because you guys did play what I call some verbal judo, you three.
Well, what happens is, and I guess I should take this as a compliment.
And so should Weider.
Whizzie!
Weezy!
Or as Mark has been lovingly referring to him the past couple of weeks.
The man who can get you things.
Just trouble maker.
When players start to get comfortable with you as a reporter,
it works in a lot of different ways.
It allows the fun to happen,
and sometimes it allows the player to shoot back at the reporters
in serious moments,
because there were serious moments like that with DJ Moore,
where he felt comfortable going at Dan or I,
and always kind of with a.
wink and a playful side to it, but sometimes we get serious.
I think, I think, though, that is a more sign of respect when you can have that kind of
exchange with people.
First of all, for the player to actually want to talk to you in that way, that means there's
a level of trust and understanding there.
Right.
And so that's what I always appreciated about it.
Like, I used to say this all the time, having worked in a lot of different baseball
clubhouses, the good part is when they're giving you hell.
That means that they're comfortable with you.
And you got to be ready though.
And that's what weeds you and I,
and I'm sure other reporters in that locker room learned with DJ Moore,
got to be ready for,
for, I don't know, antics.
And I also think to add to it, you know, DJ Moore is from Philadelphia.
Yeah.
Where the relationship with sports and sports fans and sports talk radio
is probably the most extreme of our business.
He doesn't suffer fools and nor do most citizens of,
Philadelphia, which you could speak on as well. Amen. So it'll make you better, as we like to say.
So let's start with greatest hit number one, track one, DJ Moore with Mark Grody after the Browns game.
Did you need a game like that? Did I need a game? Yeah. For what? Just in terms of all of us talking about
the lack of targets that you've had relative to past years? I mean, if you say so, will it shut y'all up?
Perhaps. It ain't going to shut y'all up. So,
I mean, felt good.
Always good to score at home, especially twice.
And this time, I'm not going to get fine.
So I'm good.
See, he knew what I was talking about.
You can hear the smile, I think, in that.
And also, that is Jason Leisure in the background.
I have mistaken him for Chris Emmett earlier, but no.
Right.
And he said it won't shut us.
I'm sorry, Tyler to do this, but play it won't.
Just so listen for the leisure comment too.
I'm getting all credit for this, but leisure is too.
Did you need a game like that?
Did I need a game?
Yeah.
For what?
just in terms of all of us talking about the lack of targets that you've had relative
the past years?
I mean, if you say so, will it shut you all up?
Perhaps.
It ain't going to shut y'all up.
Not likely.
I mean, it felt good.
Always good to score at home, especially twice, and this time I'm not going to get fine.
So I'm good.
Sounds good.
Honesty from Jason Leisure.
And I think it was correct.
It was not going to shut any of us up.
Leisure had my back.
Shall we go to track two on this list here?
On the anthology?
Yes, yes.
Now that's what I call DJ Moore, volume 10.
Wait, aren't they after like volume 198 or something?
This song right here has been on the charts for a year now.
Top five.
I think it was the number one single for a record amount of weeks.
And that is this song.
Here's how gratifying is it on WSDR the score.
How gratifying is it when you,
win that battle and get the football thrown to you?
What?
How gratifying is it?
Does it please you?
Man, when you win your 101, it's a big play to be made because, you know, you've just
got that one person to beat.
Once you do it, you've got grass to run.
What?
I'm not used to hearing it naturally anymore.
Yeah, the full context.
See, that's the beauty of the score.
So much is just, there's so many drops and so much taken out of context,
When you actually hear the whole thing, it's like, oh, that's what that is.
Also, they're up to volume 122.
Now that's what I call music.
Nice.
Yeah, a lot of the songs that you like are on here, Grady, because I know you're a big top 40 guy.
I do, I do like to take in B96.
I do.
A lot of Rihanna.
Yeah, Rihanna.
Let's see.
I don't see it immediately, but that's enough to say it's not on here.
There's 41 tracks.
So, like, Ray, where is my husband is on here?
Louis Capaldi, Ed Shearin,
Olivia Dean, the man I need.
Oh, I love Olivia Dean.
So talented.
Louis Capaldi again, like I said.
Chapel Rhone.
Sabrina Carpenter.
Lady Gaga.
Pig Pony Club.
Right down the block.
Daisy's by Justin Bieber.
But that's not the anthology that you asked for.
No.
You didn't ask for this either,
but we're doing it no matter what,
here on this time life music,
greatest hits.
What's our next song?
It's a very popular song,
like, how could anyone forget the famous?
Does It Please Me?
Feat.
Featting Dan,
Does it please you?
I mean, is that so...
Oh, fuck, dude?
It doesn't please me, but it's good to see.
Good to hear him out there doing that.
And that means he's doing growth.
See, and that's why now the previous traction
made more sense to people.
That's why when I did gratifying, I went,
did it please you as a backup?
And he gave me the little laugh because he remembered
that from Weedsie.
Neither are appropriate.
Well, he made it inappropriate.
He didn't have that.
See, this is DJ messing with us.
I'm just following his lead.
Oh, I got you.
Also, let's not forget that DJ raised the goat of hard knocks.
Ariel, his daughter,
who is the one who came up with such challenges as
let's get a bunch of sour candy and eat it.
Oh, yeah. That's right.
Ariel Moore is a star.
Adorable, absolutely.
The hardest job there is raising a well-adjusted child,
and that I admire incredibly.
The Moore family saved that,
that season of Hard Knocks because the Bears
really wanted to make it as mundane as possible.
Yeah, if DJ Moore and his family hadn't gone to the museum of ice cream,
would we have even had a Hard Knock season?
Anyone?
Ariel Moore should have started every episode.
I don't like it.
What do we have here?
All right.
Next on our greatest hits.
It's the B-side right here, ladies and gentlemen.
This one didn't make the charts, I don't think,
but it low-key, maybe like it's a favorite.
It's a popular one.
Hey, here is DJ Moore My Feet on 104-3 The Score.
Specific example of some of the route precision.
I can tell you from my perspective,
I slipped twice this year,
and I usually don't never do that.
And the one in Philly was bad, and can't have that no more.
I mean, that's out of your control, right?
No, that's not out of my control.
They my feet.
What do you mean?
What do you mean?
Like,
so when I slipped, I already knew I was like, man.
And they threw the ball.
I was like, please just don't pick it.
And let's try to move on from that.
Right cleats?
Did the feet have the right cleats?
All my cleats is the right cleats.
Nike is the right way.
But yeah, it didn't have nothing to do with the cleats.
It was just me and how I was coming out of the route.
Cleats.
As somebody who loves Nike but also has pairs of Adidas and New Balance,
I do like, I do like them all.
All my cleats is the right cleats.
Yeah.
Yeah.
I would, I would believe him.
They're my feet.
That's so weird.
I do have more Nikes than other shoes.
They my feet.
It's so good.
See, see why that's like the hipsters.
Really like that song.
Really like that track right there.
That's a deep cut.
Right.
Because the what's in the grad, are you gratified?
Is it please you like?
Those are the ones that are played over and over and over again that people still like.
It's like Rihanna.
But this one, a little bit more low-key, a little more lumineers, WXRT.
I do love the WXRT Mark Grady DJ.
I know.
Whoa.
Whoa.
Do we have any more songs?
We do.
I was going to say, I don't see the other one.
And here's number five in the DJ Moore, Mark Grody, Greatest Hits, Anthology.
Would you like to tell the people what it is?
I got to be honest with you.
I remember, but don't remember a little bit.
This one says,
Ladies and gentlemen, it's Mark Grotty interview with DJ Moore
on not making the top 100 of the score.
Never really made it before.
This year, I mean, it was the chances up there,
like high chances, and I didn't make it.
And I was like, hmm, well, all right.
I mean, I really don't really, it's really not no hard feeling.
I just got to go out there and do what I did this year,
even better next year.
But you did put the Joker, Mima.
Yeah, that's for next year.
year.
Oh, that's, that's like a warning?
Yeah, that's like a warning to be on standby.
Do you feel like you get your career high in yards, 1300 yards?
It's obviously been a good year.
Do you think to yourself, what do I got to do?
Yeah.
Technically, like, what more do I got to do?
Do I got to have the theatrics, the crazy celebrations, all that, to win over some more people?
But, I mean, at the end of the day, I'm not doing that.
I'm just going to be myself.
So that actually went through your head a little bit.
Do I got to be one of those voiceless wide receivers, the quote-unquote diva, as they say?
Yeah, kind of.
You know, everybody that made it, some of them, I won't say it was divas, but, I mean, it is what it is.
What point did you come back to, like, to level with it and you're okay with it?
Because you seem like you're not happy about it, but at peace with it at this moment.
I was at peace when it came out, and I didn't make it.
I was just like, all right, got to go back and do better.
That's like stairway to heaven.
Long song right there.
That's the one you got to really invest in.
Choose your long song.
See, if you're working at WXRT, Mark Grody,
this is when you'd go have your,
if you were a cigarette smoke or you'd go have your cigarette break.
Right.
Restroom break.
Bathroom break, whatever is, smoke up a little bit.
The champagne supernova, if you will.
That song goes for like 12 minutes or something.
Is that that long of a song?
No, it's like seven.
I'm just exaggerating.
But that is long.
To mess with the Oasis fans in the building.
Yeah.
How dare you.
you, Leila.
You're the best.
You can't talk bad about Oasis.
Are they done again, by the way, Oasis, after all the rage this summer?
I don't know.
They were touring, so they patched it up at least for money's sake.
But their tour's over, right?
They're not still out there, are they?
They're not still going.
I feel like the brothers might be sick of each other again.
I mean, they did stand.
They did avoid each other on the stage, even in the shows that they did.
You're on it, Mark Grady.
Following their massive 2025 reunion tour, Oasis is.
is not expected to tour in
26, according to Liam Gallagher.
But they said don't look back in anger.
Well, that's at least the forecast for 2026.
They followed the money.
They realized after a while, they're like, okay,
you guys can make a bill-dough here.
Go ahead and do it.
And then go back to hating each other

Take down the Wonderwall for the tour,
then build the Wonderwall back up.
Didn't he also just tour in like only the best cities?
Weren't they like, oh, we're going to Chicago, New York, and L.A.
Yeah, based at London and, yeah, done.
You're right.
They had 41 dates globally, including the U.K., Ireland, North America, very vaguely, and Mexico.
Yeah, but I think you're right.
I think the United States, they only had, like, three cities.
They probably, like, they took care of the Midwest via Chicago.
They probably did something in L.A., right?
And New York.
That's probably it.
Like Oasis isn't playing Cardinal Stadium or something?
Yeah, they're not, you're not going to see them show up in Missouri.
Cardinal Stadium. What am I thinking?
Bush Stadium. Wow.
Baseball brain hasn't fully loaded yet, and I'm sorry.
You know, well, you've got the WBC this weekend to satisfy your baseball.
Yeah, I still feel bad that I didn't mention Benji Gill is the manager of Team Mexico.
I don't know. I brought up Team Mexico and I didn't either. It's okay.
Shout out, Javier's side. Shout out Javier side.
Shout out, Hobby. What's up, baby?
Also, I like that I haven't had to think about St. Louis in a while.
Why do you hate Chris Rangie?
so much. What is that? Various reasons. Yeah. I get it. Let's put together a list. Let's put together a five on it of reasons why we hate Chris Rangie. You know what? He's not going to care about it because he doesn't care about anything. No, he doesn't. Number one. And that's why I love him. I'm Mark Brody Light.
You're damn right, you are. Our friend Dan referred to him as a dry martini. Yeah, that's pretty good. I miss Chris. I haven't seen him in a while.
Maybe he could tell me where the Cardinals play since I lost it there for a second.
lipsies. But Oasis wasn't going to go there. That's the point. Oasis is like, we're not going to
St. Louis. Not going to happen. We're Oasis. And they said it in Les Grobstein voice. That's what I heard.
I don't care what anybody says. They're not going to go to St. Louis. It's a crap. And you two,
Milwaukee is never going to happen and you know it. KMA. Does Lesseem Wonderwall?
You're my Wonderwall. I'd say more, but you know me. I ain't got the lyrics in my brain.
You're my wonder wall.
So perfect.
Grobber in tune.
Unbelievable.
Do you know a veteran?

Next, Mully shares one of his greatest fears for Olin Crutes.
Yep. Next.
You know what? KMA.
Rahimi Harrison Grody.
That sounds so crazy.
104.3, the score.
Wow, I like that.
Middays 10 to 2 on 1043, the score.
This is Rahimi Harrison Grody on 1043 The Score.
We've had quite the day.
Thank you for joining us for the fake time life anthology of the greatest hits.
It's selling like crazy, by the way.
Mark Rodi and DJ Moore.
I just like picture the screen, you know,
the song titles, which is go across the screen.
So good.
The commercial was like seven minutes, you know.
Hits like, what?
Yeah.
And then you're supposed to know what the hits are.
Kenny Loggins was always involved in them,
regardless of whether or not Kenny Loggins was part of it.
Somehow one of his songs would always make the anthology.
And it was a collection always.
There was like seven or eight.
I was always somehow part of it.
You're spot on.
Yes.
I missed though.
You don't get those anymore.
The things that have stayed in my head.
Oh, my God.
Why?
And like there were like three minute long commercials too, but they were enjoyable.
They were very enjoyable.
We had no choice.
Did you ever buy one?
Did you ever?
Are you kidding?
I was like eight.
No, I wasn't even eight.
God, those were out.
Yeah, maybe there were some at that point, but like still floating around.
I feel like I was a child.
Yeah, things weren't as easy to attain back then.
You had to actually pick up the phone and call.
And I was just excited to read stuff because we, you know, I just.
didn't have another option. I didn't even think I had cable at that point. Wow. Oh, that sounds bleak.
I did live in a world where you had to get up to turn on the television. I did the thing where
like you would, uh, you would mess with the dial. Like, if you didn't get it on the channel,
then you worked the dial just so to where you put it in between each channel.
Just tap it. I just thought it was the coolest. And then I would like go to Radio Shack and get a
bunch of adapters for an old TV. So I hooked up like through, through rabbit ears on a TV. I hooked up a
DVD player through like an adapter to an adapter.
Wow.
It's amazing I didn't burn the house down.
That's our we're old talk for the day.
What else do we have?
Oh yeah.
No kidding.
In the meantime, we're old when players that we know and used to cover now have kids
that might be in the NFL.
Oh my God.
That is frightening.
It is because for everybody who thinks does Olin have another rep left in him because
he appears to?
Olin apparently knows his strengths and weaknesses, at least better than we do.
and he was on Mully and High yesterday morning,
and before they let Olin go,
Mully shared a fear he hopes he doesn't have to deal with.
Great stuff, Olin.
Thanks a ton.
Thanks for getting up with us.
I hope Josh is doing well
as he's looking at the draft as well.
And, you know, my greatest fear for you,
this is just me,
I don't want to see the Packers take him.
That would be a natural nightmare.
That would be something.
That'd be great segment.
You'd be amazed how that I'd been talking
about in our house and his sister says Josh, we just can't do it.
We just can't support you if you go to Green Bay.
But he's doing well.
I appreciate you asking.
You know, he'll get a shot.
We're all training.
We're all having fun.
I was telling the afternoon show yesterday when I was on that I asked a guy in my gym.
I said, man, you know, how many times do you think I can get $225?
And he said six.
And I say, you've got to be kidding me.
Do I look that bad?
Do I look that old nowadays?
So I went home.
I was staring in the mirror.
Like, do I look this bad?
I'd have said at least eight.
Six reps.
I appreciate that.
At least eight.
Give me double digits, David.
I can get double digits.
I tell you what, Mully, man.
I looked in the mirror.
I said, I must look really old.
I told the guy, said, you got to be kidding me.
You really think it looks like can only get six reps.
Like, I mean, guys who can't walk can get six reps.
We're having a lot of fun, man, preparing for this, for the pro day they have coming up on a 12th at Illinois.
So we're excited about it.
happens. Great stuff.
Great stuff, Olin.
Thanks, buddy. God bless you. That is
Olin Crutes. Everybody thinks
it's, excuse me, politics that
breaks up families and friends, but it's the Bears
Packers' rivalry that breaks up families
and friends. If Josh is to go there,
I picture Olin going to
Lambo and heckling him.
Just getting in his head
a little bit.
I was laughing, because I was laughing
and thinking about how if I'm
if I'm the sideline reporter or
something for that game, I'm not. This is
metaphorical.
And the thing you do is, you know, you're talking, I talked to Olin Crutes and his family, you know, before the game.
And then you cut away to the family and they're just sitting there stone-faced mad that they have to be in Green Bay at Lambeau Field.
Yeah, that would be tough.
That would be a harsh thing.
I don't know, man.
I don't know.
I hope I mean, I want all the success in the world for Josh Croutts.
I don't want to see him centering the green.
Green Bay Packers.
I think we've spoken it too much into existence.
Yeah, we should probably stop right.
Molly, it's your fault.
Molly started it.
And here we are accentuating it.
No, I mean, it's just a natural thought.
Like, and that's the hardest part.
You know, sometimes we measure getting older in different ways when the people you
know is kids are old enough to do the same job.
Yeah.
They're starting to lap us and you start to understand and relate to the people that
were old before us.
And I'm like, where's my now?
That's what they call music volume like 20.
Now they're on 122.
Time.
When did you get in?
When did you get in?
Pat Hughes and Ron Coomer

from Mesa, Arizona,
tomorrow at 155 against the A's,
and then Sunday at 255 against the Giants

So you can hear that saying in crystal clear.
I don't appreciate you repeating what I'm saying right now, Ron.
I don't remember.
ever saying anything like that.
Where'd you get in?
It's the right question.
We just want to know.
It's hilarious.

The best is what I said it.
You just lost it.
It's like Pavlov's dog.
It's the new hilarious thing that just makes me laugh instantaneously.
before it was the
who's the baseball writer
from the New York. Oh, John. John.
Hayman.
Can't believe it. That makes me laugh on command.
And now it's, when did you get in?
When did you get in?
I think it was Lawrence yesterday who did that.
And he got me.
Mark's body jerked back violently.
When did you get in?
When did you get in?
I can't believe it.
When did you get in?
hilarious.
And FM.
Spiegel and Holmes are next.

happily eat steak and eggs any time of the day. Breakfast, dinner, it's technically midnight,
but I'm still hungry. Doesn't matter. There's just something unbeatable about a good steak
hitting a hot pan, that immediate sizzle, the smell filling the kitchen, and then topping it with
the fried egg where the yolk is deep yellow and just barely runny. Unreal. Pure protein heaven. That's
