Rahimi Harris and Grotie. Middays 10 to 2 on 1043, the score.
Okay, I'm still somewhat giggling at the Bayesian in a second rounder.
How do you think that phone call is going to go with John Spitech if you're the Raiders?
What was that? Oh, I'm sorry, you're breaking up. Got to go. Bye.
This is Rahimi Harrison Grotie. At what price would you trade for Max Crosby?
Do you want in on the sweepstakes? Should the bears get back in?
I think the price is going to be a little higher.
312, 64, 64, 67, 67.
We go to Frank in Las Vegas.
Frank, you're on Rahimi Harrison Grotie.
Good morning, ladies and gentlemen.
I have two reasons why they should.
I would give up the first this year and a second next year
because who knows where we're picking next year
because of injuries and stuff.
Plus, if I'm not mistaken,
Booker is similar size to Crosby.
You get him in there and let him show him
that he gives 110% show him some moves.
And can't you next year as a cap casually of sweat if Booker continues like he did
at the last quarter of the season?
And just a little off topic, cannot the Bears sue the NFL because clearly Ian Cunningham
met the requirements of being elevated to general manager?
Are you familiar with the cliche judge, jury, and execution?
That is Adam, excuse me, Roger Goodell right about now.
So they can't sue them.
This is league business.
This is how the league operates.
The commissioner works for the 32 teams.
Yeah, but I mean, if you look through the past, they've always screwed bears.
Yeah.
You know, some way or another, there's got to be some kind of remedy that they can look at.
I know that, you know, if you mess with them, they're going to try to penalize you later.
or would it maybe, if they do ever get a new stadium,
they may not want to do a Super Bowl here or something like that.
But somebody can't even somebody else,
even NAACT, get involved and say,
hey, you're breaking a rule that you set to help, you know, minorities,
you know, can't they get, somebody get involved?
Because clearly Ian Cunningham was elevated to a good position,
higher position than what he had here.
You know what?
There's a chat bot.
if you go to contact the NFL office, NFL support, submit a request, which I'm pretty sure
probably has more to do with the actual function of the website. But maybe that's, there's got to be
another way. Yeah, because since this is on everyone's minds and the bears can't seem to have any
recourse, that's not to say we can't contact them. Are we about to start a grassroots movement
to contact Roger Goodell? You write an email to Roger Goodell. Let him know how you're feeling and how the
lack of compensatory picks for Ian Cunningham
is affecting your life, Bears fans.
No, I'm not kidding.
You might as well email somebody.
Just find the contact us information
or the contact information on the NFL
and the more they get from this,
then at least we've made it a nuisance for them.
And that might be the best thing that we can possibly do.
Here's what stinks.
It probably gets the next person
the compensatory picks for their respective team.
That's what it probably does.
Because they won't admit they were wrong on this one,
but we can remind them
that they are. I have no problem
with doing that. So Frank, that's my suggestion.
And I'm not kidding. Contact
the NFL. If they won't listen to us,
then have it registered somewhere.
So thanks for your call. 312,
64-64-67. This is Rahimi
Harrison Grody on 1043. The score.
We go to Pete in Rockford. Hi, Pete.
Hey, how you guys doing?
Right.
I wanted to point out something.
From the very beginning, Ryan Poles has always said that he's going to grow the bears to the draft,
and he didn't want to put any kind of financial burden or restraints on the Bears.
He's gotten us out of bad contracts, and he's gotten us in a good position right now.
And as much as I want to see a healthy Max Crosby on a Bears team,
I still think that it's too early.
I think that we'll be putting too much money into them,
and it's not the path that Ryan Poles wanted to take from the get-go.
So with that, I'll listen.
I think the number one thing is when you're saying that, though,
he's not always going to have Caleb Williams,
if things go the way that we think it's going to go,
on a rookie contract.
This is the time now to take advantage of that
before you have to really make cutbacks and pay your quarterback.
I think everybody wants to build through their draft.
But when the facts in the matter change, we change.
I think that the Bears thought that Jervanda,
Dexter was going to be a different player in the final year of his rookie contract than he's
turned into now. I think the Bears drafted a lot of hopes and prayers or people they thought
that they could change based on relative athletic score and traits, especially early on
and Ryan Poles his time with the Bears and that they haven't come through. And somebody needed
to say these players are good enough. Furthermore, you saw it happen. The league showed you.
So when you can't build through the draft, the next thing you try to do is sign free agents,
which is what they did on the offensive line,
and it's what they did on the defensive line, respectively.
So they had to fix the problem somehow.
But you're right, drafting should be the solution,
and it should be the very first thing that happens.
But when it doesn't, you've got to fill in the gap somehow.
312-644-67-67 is our number.
Brandon in Madison, Wisconsin.
We go to you next.
Hey, Brandon.
Hey, how's it going?
We're good.
How are you today?
Good, good. I just want to say I grew up listening to you guys with my dad in his car. So thanks for all you guys do, first of all.
Thank you.
And I am for the Max Crosby trade for a few reasons. I think the attention he brings to opposing offenses with our new signings of Devin Bush and Jackson, being able to free those guys up to fly around.
is really important, as well as the flexibility we have next year in the cap with 77 million
prior to cutting guys like Deo and Grady and those guys,
freeing up another 30 million to make other moves like Resign Darnell right.
But I just think he would change the trajectory of this rebuild and this phase that we're in,
as well as amplify the young guys and bring juice to our defensive line.
would you be willing to give up, though?
I think I would be willing to give up probably a first and a next year's second.
And part of the reason that is, I think, with Ben Johnson,
we've proven that we can draft later in the draft and still find value guys,
like Luke Newman, Manung guy, you know, even those second round picks that we've had,
like we've proven that we can get value so those two picks to me become, you know, less relevant when a guy like Max Crosby's on your roster.
I like your logic, Brandon.
Thanks for calling in.
And thanks for picking up where your family left off, two generations of score listeners.
We'll take it.
We love to hear it.
But I just don't think it's as simple when it comes to being able to cut players like Dio Dango, for example.
Like this year, it's a $22 million dead cap hit.
That's a lot of money.
So that's not happening this year.
Grady Jarrett would be a $21 million dead cap hit.
Both of those are higher than their respective contracts and cap hits this season.
We will have one more call, and it is Kendrick on the south side.
Hi, Kendrick.
Hey, how's it going?
I'm finally able to get in on one of these conversations, so I'm very excited.
Well, we're happy to have you.
All right.
I'm for the Max Crosby trade, and me personally,
with everything that went down,
of course,
the value is not going to be
two first round picks anymore.
So I would probably do like a first
and a second,
like this year's first
and probably next year's second.
The only way I would even consider
doing two first round picks
is if they take
I owe the dangbo
contract away from us.
That's the only way I'll be looking at
giving out two first round picks.
But I think we have
the time is now.
Like we have this little ones
window and the time is now for us to make that push to be able to get over that hump the way
we should before we have to start looking at the paying Caleb 50 to 60 plus million dollars
and we still have Roma Dunezay. He's probably on demand another $27, $28 million. So it's like
the time is now. If we can capture one now and our biggest issue which was proven for us last
year was that we couldn't get to the quarterback. Montez-Sweck, me personally, I got one more year
with him before I decided to ship him out somewhere. But I think if you pair of Max Crosby with him,
we can be able to do something. And I think it could be very special if we can make that happen.
Kendrick, I like your timeline, especially I'm on Tess Wet. And I like the thought process overall.
I'm glad you got in on the conversation. We thank you for your call. So we have to get to a
break here because we have to hear from Mike Florio next. What a perfect day to talk to Mike.
It cannot have lined up any better.
The creator and editor of pro football talk, who I'm sure has heard some hot gossip since, I don't know, I'd say last night around 8 o'clock or so.
We'll talk to Mike next.
