Starting point is 00:00:00 How many innings do you expect him to pitch perouting? I don't expect him to necessarily lead the team in saves either. I think he's going to be utilizing whatever high leverage situation, seventh, eighth. Whenever Grant Taylor's not available, he might be pitching those games. Okay, guys, okay. No, no, that buzzer is going to live in my head, rent-free. It does all the time.
Starting point is 00:00:24 I'll have my own private thoughts, and I'm like, no, that doesn't make sense. Thanks to our guests. Thanks to Portage, Indiana, Mayor Austin Bonsa for coming on and giving us some more information about their pitch to the Bears. Thanks to Clay Harbor for hanging out in studio with us for an hour. Thanks to Mike Floreau. Ray Diaz. Tyler Buter, Brandon Fryer, Grant Leader, because I forgot to think of yesterday and I feel bad. That's two for Grant now.
Starting point is 00:00:49 Thanks to Carter O'Donnell, Jacob Stutz, and Max Curtis. And now it is time for two men who I'm pretty sure would know. whether or not Luis on Helicunya was a switch hitter, Lawrence Holmes and Matt Spiegel. Oh, man. What is that buzzer? It's TikTok. It's a TikTok buzzer.
Starting point is 00:01:08 But it's where I first heard it. It's an interstitial that people use when someone's getting roasted. Like, dude, I've heard it. I can't tell you the first time I heard it. It reminds me of a movie. It reminds me of a movie. Tenet, anybody see Tenet? It reminds me of the sound fact of Tenet.
Starting point is 00:01:23 Of course you saw Tenet. But I don't know what that. I don't know exactly who it's first. So the first time I saw it used in social media was the lions trolling Aaron Rogers when he was still with the Packers. Hmm. I like it. Oh, yeah. It's an effective sound because once you hear it in that context.
Starting point is 00:01:41 Context, you know what it means. And he was like, unimmunized. And then they're like, oh, yeah, I have success against the lions. Sonically, it's penetrating as well. It's like, it's getting down into my loins, you know. Did I say that too loud? Yep. Probably.
Starting point is 00:02:02 Did Clay's brother Hallis Harbors stopped by the show today? He did not, but right after we had Clay, we had the mayor talking about Hallis Harbour. He did say he liked the name. I just wanted to make sure that
Starting point is 00:02:17 all of the Harbors were taking care of today on the show. Pearl. Pearl. Right. Absolutely. Usually in December. Sorry. Name of famous
Starting point is 00:02:29 Harbor. I mean, what are we doing? Egg Harbor. Sag Harbor. Oh, Egg Harbor Cafe. Sag Harbor is the brand of a 50-year-old woman. Sag Harbor's what? It's like the brand your mom wears or something.
Starting point is 00:02:44 Oh, okay. Where's that cardigan from Sag Harbor? That's a New York thing, right? It's a Billy Joel? Isn't there like a Billy Joel? Is that a Harbor song? No, that's, that's Ann Harbor. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:02:54 We're close. We're working on it. it. See, no buzzer. You did okay. He couldn't whip it out fast enough. That's what she said. What do you think of this? Billy Joel owns a lot of property in Sag Harbor, New York. I was showing the roosters some Billy Joel live on YouTube because my father-in-law was suggesting it.
Starting point is 00:03:14 And I realized, I should probably let Ruben know if he keeps playing piano. There's a chance. I mean, it's a slim chance. But like Billy Joel live at Shea Stadium, have you ever seen that video on YouTube? It is one of the most awe-inspiring things. The chance that he becomes Billy Joel? Yeah, he might not become actually Billy Joel, but like the success level, to be like a dude at a piano
Starting point is 00:03:36 and playing a 50,000-seat stadium that you grew up near? Wait, that's like a documentary, isn't it? The last days at Shea or something like that? I think so. Can Rubin sing? I'm sorry. He can. He can a little bit.
Starting point is 00:03:49 He can get on the Ivories and do a little bit. He can get on the Ivories and talk and sing a little bit. Yeah, he's still a little shy about it, but the skill set is there. No, you got to be that dude. Once he gets a little bit older, who can walk into, like, a hotel lobby, see the piano. Let me impress everybody real quick. Pull up. Marshall, the other day, like, I got to yell at him to practice, right?
Starting point is 00:04:10 And it's like, I had to crack the whip, or not the whip, the belt. I prefer the belt. Lawrence gave me a belt, which is coming handy. But, like, the other day, he was playing video games with his friend, and he said, hold on a second. And he walked over to the piano, and one of them had asked to hear him play piano. He was playing piano for the friends. I see you.
Starting point is 00:04:25 I see you. You can't pretend you don't like that you can do this. Has he started developing romantic feelings for anyone? Yeah, there's some. They were discussed this morning. He's going to learn how to manipulate his skill set to help him in that world. And that's your job to teach him how to do that. What you should teach him is how to do the first, what, like 15 notes of Tupac's I ain't mad at you.
Starting point is 00:04:51 Yeah. That's what he should roll in and do. like whenever he walks into a place Do do do do do Do do do do do do Do do do do Instant credit And then he should just walk away
Starting point is 00:05:07 What are some other songs that would have that effect Now you got me thinking Because that that's an excellent one That's a great pull I'm going to play this second Gypsy Woman Gypsy Woman Do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do
Starting point is 00:05:24 do do do do do do he knows the beginning of knocks me off my feet by stevie wonder that'll that that that'll work that that yeah that dog will hunt it's like telling somebody you want to get you know over the competitive balance attacks for him you know what I mean it's a good one there was somebody like back when I cared about Twitter more like somebody followed me and I was like who's following me and I'd look up the bio and somebody's bios to like a few things and hard piano and I was like hell yeah because you know a foundation of a lot of good hip-hop songs, hard piano. Not even a question.
Starting point is 00:05:58 Hell yeah. Especially a lot of like Texas hip-hop too, slow-ass hard piano. That's the way to go. I'm trying to think if Ruben could do anything chopped and screwed what he might be able to pull off there. I think you have to play like that's, no, because that's a different device. That's like a sorrano. It is, but you can still, the notes are still the same.
Starting point is 00:06:19 You can just figure out a way to play them. Way to chop it and screw it? Mm-hmm. Hmm. I'll work on that. I mean, he could definitely play Tipping. That's strings. But he can, but you can put it on the piano.
Starting point is 00:06:33 How dare you? You've offended her instrument sensibilities in that way. No, there's part of it that's on the low register piano. There's part of its piano. He should probably. Still tippet his piano and strings. That's right, people. Yeah, you can do that.
Starting point is 00:06:51 There's definitely some Dre songs that should be done, right? Oh, yeah. What's the one that Jay-Z wrote? Is that... I can't name stuff off the top of my head after I've done a four-hour show. Doon-dun-dun-dun-dun-dun-dun-dun-dun-dun-dun. Oh, still dry. Still dry.
Starting point is 00:07:11 Also, strangey enough, it's what Jay-Z wrote. Also, still dry. I didn't even know that. 847 says, play the Layla piano exit. That's like 25 minutes of music. What are you talking about? There's a piano exit for you? No, not me.
Starting point is 00:07:25 It's the Goodfellas treatment It's the L-A-Y-L-A Yeah, if he could learn that We could do a live Goodfellas treatment We'll see if I'm going to bring him back in on Sunday mornings To be the associate producer He didn't really enjoy the task But I enjoyed watching him do the task
Starting point is 00:07:40 Sometimes we got to do this I mean you were yelling at him I have an idea We made him phone guy on Sunday morning Oh my goodness That's the quality time You've got to get his first gig to be like Gibson's or something So he can start making money immediately
Starting point is 00:07:52 Oh right And see that tip jar grow And then dealing with, like, the patrons who are like, can you play? Lady Gaga. John at the bar is a friend of mine. And we're back to Billy Joel. See how it all comes around, folks. I forget which comedian did it, but there's a brilliant piece of stand-up about that song.
Starting point is 00:08:11 And I can't give you the punchline because it's against FCC regulations. They're not listening. But basically, the idea is Billy Joel is pleasuring himself by that song. and at the end of the song, but the climax of the song, so to speak. So to speak. So to speak, yeah. Okay.
Starting point is 00:08:34 Is the man, what are you doing here part of the song? Oh, I'm the piano man. Excuse me. You know, the more I learn, the more I'm like, how did he mess up Christy Brinkley? But then I'm like, oh, maybe there are some clues. Maybe there were clues. And did he also apologize in front of the nation?
Starting point is 00:08:54 ruin his teammates' opportunity to win a gold medal. It's the best, it's the best Olympic story so far, is the Norwegian biathlete, a bronze medal in biathlon, but a gold medal in crashing out, apologizing about adultery, and then the next day, apologizing about apologizing about adultery because he took shine away from his countrymen who won the gold. Has he apologized yet today? Well, he apologized in 2023 for not going through the safety check and firing a firearm that was loaded in a hotel room for competition.
Starting point is 00:09:27 Did he really? Yes, this dude is, he's a problem. Yeah. She should probably stay away. Yeah. Old Sterla's got some sorting out to do. It doesn't seem like guns should be part of his athletic life. Well, the thing that was crazy was the cheating, as he told us, happened six months ago.
Starting point is 00:09:45 She didn't find out until last week. Yeah. So it'd only been a week since she had found out. And he's out here putting her business in the streets. Like, yeah. That's because he's just trying to make the. public apology, do what the private apology did not do. I shouldn't be sharing
Starting point is 00:09:58 this, but you know how I feel about gatekeeping, so. What's that? There's a lot of you who act guilty. What does that mean? How so? Go on. Do tell. Acting guilty is different from outright admitting it. You know,
Starting point is 00:10:14 it's kind of like stuff like that. That's obviously post-fact. But there are people who take like very proactive behaviors that in turn, tell on yourselves. Like what? Just in case someone might need to know a tell.
Starting point is 00:10:31 A tell. Yes. Be our Alex Breggman. Hold on. This is like Joe Fortenbaum's segment. Get your pencils out. I know. I'm only giving you one.
Starting point is 00:10:41 And if you don't know this, then my word. Like Layla as our wingman, it seems like a segment that we should do. So go for it. No, not a segment. No, because I still believe in some girl code. Okay. But we'll take whatever tip. got. But you always say you've got some wing person tendencies.
Starting point is 00:10:58 I do. You know. Like, before you used to not go out in Philly. I don't know you've ever winged me, but I think I have. Okay. You're right. The other like giant dudes next to you definitely were better wing men for you. You know what? Height is something that, you know.
Starting point is 00:11:15 They stick out in a crap. Like if I knew, they were like, hey, we're going to be an X place. I was like, oh, I see them. I'm only six too, Leila. Don't try to. We're waiting on the lesson here. You sure are. You sure are.
Starting point is 00:11:24 I'm trying to skirt it. Okay, yeah, number one, accusing other people of cheating when they haven't cheated. Yeah, if somebody lashes out like that, then you know. If you frequently accuse somebody else of cheating, guess what they think you're doing. She knows. So we'll just start with that for acting guilty. Okay. That's your only lesson today.
Starting point is 00:11:42 What? I didn't need that. That's an obvious projection. You say that. Yes. I imagine that Layla helped some people with that. Okay. Or like the oversharing of...
Starting point is 00:11:54 I was looking for some individual. Marshall, you have to understand. Not everyone has your type of game. All right. I don't have any game. Or self-awareness. Some of us are not playing on all Madden or all Marshall. Some of us are just out here.
Starting point is 00:12:07 So, you know, the rules don't really apply to you. And if you're 6'2, I don't even want to hear it. I mean... Here's a sports example. So, like, if a team just suddenly starts to just outcry about some play, like the Tush push, like, wait a second. Why are you guys even talking about this? Like, this isn't you going to play you run?
Starting point is 00:12:26 Yeah. Oh, you're the NFL's, you're the NFL's mark to stop it. That's what you're saying? Like, you've been used by the league? Yes, and then you end up agreeing with your mortal enemy, team Voldemore. You end up agreeing with your team enemy, your mortal enemy then try to get rid of that play. That would be acting guilty. Like, just bring up something out of nowhere that you didn't bring up before.
Starting point is 00:12:48 You know, as the only one here who's in a long-term relationship, I feel like I'm kind of like that team with a coach and a quarterback who are locked in already. We're just building trust. That's what I'm focused on every week of the game plan. It's just like, how do I build trust and further the relationship? You know what I mean? Have you already won a championship in this scenario? I don't know that championships are available to do one.
Starting point is 00:13:11 Did you guys see hot ones yesterday with Sierra and Ross? Oh, yeah. Yeah, with the Super Bowl ring versus the wedding ring. Which ring is more important to you? Oh, wow. Listen, it's got to be the Super Bowl ring. By Sierra. On Hot ones.
Starting point is 00:13:26 Yeah, and he took a bite instead of answering the question. It's definitely the Super Bowl ring. Like, what are we talking about here? Like, let me put it this way. If the wedding ring gets stolen or lost, you're like, oh, that sucks. Got to replace it. If the Super Bowl ring gets stolen lost, you're losing your freaking mind. I don't know.
Starting point is 00:13:45 My husband lost his ring early on in our marriage in, like, the first month, even though we dated for several years before that. And I was like, why does this feel like an omen? The team would probably replace your ring, though. Have you legitimately lost it and not like lost it at a pawn shop? Because that happens. I'm just so here for the lay-law-over-sharing transition. It's harder to get a Super Bowl ring than a wedding ring.
Starting point is 00:14:10 Would you agree with that? Yes. Yes. I would agree. So that's why he bit into the chicken. Because the truth is that he's had two of them already. Exactly. And he only has one Super Bowl ring.
Starting point is 00:14:21 Could have had two of those. Yeah. Yeah. Could have have it. He just handed the ball off. And maybe he would feel differently if he had two Super Bowl rings. If he had handed the ball off, would he only have one wedding ring but two Super Bowl rings? Is there a sliding doors moment there?
Starting point is 00:14:37 No, I think he's definitely getting rid of that first one. Here's another example of acting guilty. Okay. 3.3-1 on our text line. Okay. Is it true that most women are hypergamous? Well, you've asked me that question before. so I'm going to say you're probably telling on yourself there.
Starting point is 00:14:53 That's another episode of acting guilty. Dang. Where's the Law and Order Sounder? That's what we need for that. There we go. I didn't even know about the 2B Law and Order sound, but it'll work. This is a problem with having a decent memory sometimes as like stuff like that. I'm like, if you have to ask me the same question multiple times, you're telling more about you than you are asking that to me.
Starting point is 00:15:17 I didn't. I love words, but Hypergamous was about. above me. It's a term used to about the act or practice of a person dating or marrying a spouse of higher mating value than themselves. That's gross in and of itself as a concept. It's also misogynistic,
Starting point is 00:15:32 but that person has asked that question before once already. So do you think that it's most women or do you think it's most women you have found or looked for? Or were you only just watching Bridgeton and then you decided to talk about it? That's a different thing. That's pretty funny. I mean that's
Starting point is 00:15:48 acting innocent. Is that where it's used? I don't know. That would be, that's like the bit. Like, that's where you're supposed to marry. So my reply was not me, but I can only speak for myself. And then I was like, but then again, I've told you this before, acting guilty. See, I like this. I like that you have.
Starting point is 00:16:07 Why do you need your conscience, soothed multiple times about a very specific thing? You've hipped us to the game, and that's important. Is it? Yeah. Can we just have a segment in transition called Game with. Layla? Like once a week or something? I have no game. I just know how to sniff it out. I'm trying to create it right now. I think that the lessons that we can learn from Layla would be very, and not just us in the room. Yeah, I think the loyal us can learn some lessons.
Starting point is 00:16:36 But here's the funniest part is I will give this information knowing damn well and good that a lot of you can't even help yourselves. Your motions will take over and you'll do this stuff anyway. I wonder if anybody out there would agree that that marriage is the systemic removal of game. Like I'm trying to remove game as I go on. Here's why this is not true. Okay. Just tell me from your position of having been married. No, from having a ton of people been married and divorced. Okay. Hi!
Starting point is 00:17:05 Let me tell you, Marrymen out here got game. That's why there's so many women willing to get over here with the Merriman. It's disturbing because they're like, oh, he's pre-approved. Yep. Sometimes the ring is game enough. Let me rephrase. Having a good marriage. Having a good marriage is the systemic removal of said game. Also, there is the inherent attraction to unavailability. I don't think that that's necessarily true either because you still want to make sure that the person that you're with is still attracted to you.
Starting point is 00:17:33 Yes, but there are ways to do that just straight and direct ideally. Are you trying to say you have no game, Matt? Flirting. No. Never stop flirting. Yeah, no, there's a lot of that that goes on. Well, never stop flirting with your partner. Don't flirt with your partner.
Starting point is 00:17:46 Right. Never stop flirting with your partner. I would to clarify that. Didn't even think it needed clarification. Why didn't it need clarification? Because we were just talking about. I know. I'm kidding.
Starting point is 00:17:55 Married men having game, there's plenty of married men out here who have game. I think once you lock in as a merry man from my friends telling me these stories, at some point, you can acknowledge and be like, oh, that's cool and just keep it moving. Yes. And that's where everybody has to get to. You think when a Clay Harbor finally settles down, you think all of a sudden he's not going to have game anymore? That man's got Parker brothers. Don't be out here.
Starting point is 00:18:22 Clay Parker, Harper. Might be his little name. And Hallis Harbor. Hallis Harbor. Clay's brother, Hallis Harbor. And Des Moines Harbor. Is Hallis Harbor? Is there any water in Des Moines?
Starting point is 00:18:33 I think it was built on a river. Is there more than Corn in Indiana? These are all the questions. There's Quad Cities. There's all four cities out there. The DJs? No, but like it's so, were you impressed with the portage pitch? I mean, I, I think I'm more
Starting point is 00:18:49 intrigued because it was only a matter of time before private equity got to everything. This may have been its last frontier. As I said, it's not latest stage capitalism, but it's definitely later stage capitalism. Yeah. I mean, now I was, my guy Ben Bradley on Channel 9 did a whole story of how not private equity is a part of children's sports. Oh, yeah, I saw that. That's becoming a thing. Disturbing.
Starting point is 00:19:15 It is. He's right to do the story. Yeah, he is. And I was like, yeah, that's. That's a, what do I always say, Lila? Name me the thing that private equity is made better. I don't have an answer. Don't have a good answer.
Starting point is 00:19:29 Billionaires, it's better for themselves. It makes people rich. And if that's how you get down, that's how you get down. I don't think it makes people rich anymore. I think it just makes rich people richer. That's true.
Starting point is 00:19:40 And Richards. That's the whole thing. Here's what we've got planned for today's show. We are going to spend some time with Ricky O'Donnell. and I would like to talk with him about his violent swing because he was he was with it with the Bulls. Like it was weird because there was a point where he was like, I'm not with this.
Starting point is 00:20:02 And he's like, yeah, you know what? I can see it. And then he's like, I am not with any of this. But we'll also pick his brain about what the Bulls should do when it comes to the draft. That's at 325. Yeah, it's time to. You're already talking to draft. Oh, yeah.
Starting point is 00:20:16 You listen to the show today, sir. I will be listening. Are you guys turning the page on the season? That's a good idea, actually. I'm still watching it for the laughs. Got a bunch of them last night. Vooch out here using up and under moves, hit people with the dream shake last night.
Starting point is 00:20:34 Vooch looked like he was back in his early 20s. Yeah, sure did. Stacey with the line, ladies and gentlemen, the midlife crisis. Hey, hey, some people handle it better than others. Some people just buy a car, but not a motorcycle. I don't have a garage to put a car in, guys.
Starting point is 00:20:51 What are we're supposed to do? Those are the things that happen. Jared Payton is going to join us at 245. We'll ask him about his Super Bowl experience this past week. The sad, sad story of Chris Bryant needs to be discussed. Crazy Mick Cronin is at it again. We need to discuss that. I heard you guys talking about Caleb in the three-point contest.
Starting point is 00:21:13 Is it me or is it weird that there's a current NBA player in the contest? All you need to know is it's all about the views. No, well, there's one current. And then Richard Jefferson, right? It's all about the views. I just think of him as NBA. Don't ever get. Jared McCain's social media follow is insane.
Starting point is 00:21:31 That's no doubt. That's fine, but it'd be like us in the Luge competition, along with the gold medalist of the Luge competition. Like, I've picked that guy as the favorite. I'm with you. I guess McCain couldn't do the real contest because, you know, Dame Liller had to get in with his injured self. So they put him in this one.
Starting point is 00:21:48 Hey, hey, you'll leave his three-point game out of this. That man is timeless. Dame Dollar. When we come back, we will catch up with the White Sox general manager. That's after Tanny's open, which is always must-listing. Next, here on the score. And this segment is sponsored by Shipper Guide TMS, the platform freight teams rely on.
