On New Year’s Eve 2018, U.S. Army Sergeant Tyrone Hassel III was fatally shot in an ambush in his father's driveway in Michigan while on holiday leave. Investigators later discovered that his wife, Kemia Hassel, also an active-duty soldier, had orchestrated the murder with her lover and fellow soldier, Jeremy Cuellar, so they could continue their extramarital affair.

So one night this US soldier rolls up on this other US soldier and blam, he kills him. All because he wants his wife. Now the wife's name is Camilla, and Camilla is about 21 years old when this story starts, and she's living in Georgia, and she lives on a base there because she's in the military. But see, Camilla has a big problem. Her marriage isn't going so well. She feels like she isn't getting the attention and affection that she really wants. But then, one day,

around 2017-2018, she meets this guy, Jeremy. And Jeremy, he's in her platoon, and she thinks he kind of foined, and he thinks she kind of foin. And he needs a ride home that day, so she offers to give him one. And soon, this kind of becomes a regular thing. She gives him rides to or from work, and sometimes he'll repay her by putting gas in her car or offering to buy her food. And, you know, nothing inappropriate happens, like they don't cross any lines, because they're both married, but they keep hanging out and they keep talking. And then, around 2018, all that changes. Because Camilla and her husband, who is also in the military, they're both deployed to South Korea, where they're supposed to stay for the next nine months. Now, coincidentally,

Jeremy is also deployed to South Korea. So now he's living on the same base as Camia and her husband. So while they're in South Korea, Camia and Jeremy keep hanging out like, like they've been doing, and they get closer and closer. And soon enough, they start smashing. And this dude, he ends up falling in love with her. He starts showering her with like money and gifts and stuff. Now, this whole time, Camia's husband has no idea that this affair's been going on. I mean, they're like sneaking around behind his back. Now, Camia's husband is actually this, guy, Tyrone. Now, Tyrone, he's not dumb. Like, he eventually notices that Camilla has got this new friend Jeremy and that they've been hanging out a lot lately and he's starting to not like it. So he tells

her to stay away from him because Jeremy has kind of a bad reputation. A reputation is a guy with a bit of a temper. And Camia's like, okay, but she doesn't really listen. She keeps hanging out with him and they continue to smash. Now at some point, Camia decides that. that she really wants to be with Jeremy, like permanently. And instead of seeking out a divorce from Tyrone, she's going to have him assassinated. That way, he'll be out of her life. Plus, she's on his insurance policy, which means that if he were to die, she would then receive $400,000. So she goes to Jeremy, and she starts talking about how nice it would be if her husband were dead

and how she would then get $400,000, and then she talks about all the things that she would do with that kind of money, like paying off her house. And Jeremy's like, you're talking like you want him to die. So then, Camilla basically pitches the idea to him that if he kills her husband, she'll get hundreds of thousands of dollars,

and then they can be together permanently. And Jeremy hears this plan, and I guess he's like, all right. So the two of them get to work, and they start plotting exactly. exactly how they're going to take out Tyrone and how they're going to get away with it. And they make sure to use Snapchat. That way their incriminating messages disappear.

And so a few months pass, and we're still in 2018. Now, at some point, their deployment to South Korea ends, and they all three come back home to Georgia. And they aren't back very long before the holidays hit, and it's around Christmas time. So Camilla and Tyrone, they fly up to Michigan to visit with Tyrone's family, and they end up staying at Tyrone's dad's house. While they're there,

Camia's murder plot is still in full effect. Their plan is to have Jeremy drive all the way up to Michigan to take out Tyrone while he's at his family's house. I guess that way no one will suspect that Jeremy is the one who did it. So Jeremy drives up to Michigan. And the whole time, Camia is messaging him over Snapchat, keeping him updated on Tyrone's whereabouts and whatnot. So Jeremy gets to Michigan and he starts stalking Tyrone, like following him around.

One night he stalks him to a local nightclub and he waits outside for him to come out and he watches from a distance with a gun. But at the last minute, he ends up chickening out and he walks away without shooting anyone. Two days later, he tries again. He hides outside Tyrone's dad's house near some trash cans and he waits for Tyrone to come outside. so that he can shoot him. But once again, he chickens out. In fact, he gets close to shooting Tyrone and then backs out around six different times. It seems like being a hitman is a lot harder than he thought. Regardless, Camilla is starting to get annoyed by all this. She really wants Tyrone out of the picture. So she hits up Jeremy and she tells him that they're leaving Michigan

soon and going back to Georgia. So if he's going to do this hit, he needs to do it now. So then, on New Year's Eve, Jeremy is back in the area and he and Camilla have decided that the assassination is going to happen tonight. Now, during this time, Tyrone, he's over at a relative's house, some sort of family gathering. And Camilla calls him and she asks him if he can stop by the house where she is and bring her some food. And Tyrone, you know, he's a good husband.

So he's like, sure, I'll bring you some food. So now she knows that he's on his way home. And quickly, she messages Jeremy. on Snapchat, and she's like, he's on its way home, act now. And soon enough, Tyrone gets home. And he pulls up in the driveway with his truck. Then he goes inside and he drops off the food for his wife. Then he leaves and goes back out again. And while he's walking back to his truck, suddenly Jeremy comes out of nowhere and he's got a pistol and he points it right at Tyrone. And blam, blam, blam, he shoots him multiple times. Right there.

in the driveway. And unfortunately, Tyrone doesn't survive. So then, of course, Jeremy flees the scene, while Camilla calls 911 and reports that her husband was just shot. And so police show up. And Camilla is there, and she's acting all frantic, and she gives this Oscar award-winning performance about him being shot in the driveway. This is actually some body cam footage of her. But here's where this whole thing gets really stupid. Police are of course investigating all this, trying to figure out who could do this to Tyrone. Meanwhile, Jeremy, he's back in Georgia by now, and he's at the military base where he lives. And this dude, he just can't keep his mouth shut. He keeps telling his fellow soldiers that he was involved in a murder. I don't know if he's bragging or what, but he keeps talking about it.

And I'm sure each one of these guys hears this and they're like, what the fuck? At a racetrack, You'll find everything you need to get through the day ahead. And so police began questioning people who knew Tyrone. And some of those people start telling them about a rumored affair between Jeremy and Tyrone's wife, Camilla, making it look like she was involved in her own husband's murder. And so, bam, Jeremy is arrested.

And so Camilla ends up confessing to everything, which leads police to search her and Jeremy's phones, and that is where they're able to recover all those Snapchat messages that they were sending to each other about planning out the murder. And so you think Snapchat messages disappear,

but I guess they really don't. Anyway, Jeremy, he ends up taking a plea deal and he gets sentenced to 65 to 90 years in prison, while Camilla did not take a plea deal and she gets sentenced to life.
