So this guy, his name's Bowie, and Buoy is about to set someone on fire for stealing his iPhone. So Bowie's 16, and he's not a very good kid. In fact, he's what you would call an unlicensed pharmacist. But one day, he's out selling unlicensed pharmaceuticals and suddenly, bam, the deal goes bad, and somebody robs him, and the thief takes all his stuff. But most importantly, he takes his iPhone. phone. And ultimately, Bowie is pissed off by this and his ego is hurt. I mean, how could someone do this to him? Well, Bowie, he isn't going to let this slide. He's determined to get revenge.

But first, he needs to find the thief who did this. So he logs on to the Find My Phone app to see if he can trace the location of his iPhone that was taken. And instantly, kaboom, he traces his phone and he sees that it's in a neighborhood nearby. And he feels like he's located the house that it's in, must be where the thief lives. Cool, now he needs a crew. So he hits up two of his shadiest friends. This friend, Gavin, who's 16, and this other friend, Dylan, who's 14, and he tells them all about his revenge plot, and he asks them for their help in pulling it off. And so they agree. So the three of them meet up, and they start putting this plan together. They're going to break into the thief's house, do shit with gasoline, set the whole place on fire,

and then, I don't know, feel joy? I don't know what comes after that. Regardless, now their plan is in motion, and they spend all their time getting prepared. They map it all out. They buy cans of gasoline. They go to a costume store and buy masks. They even look at pictures of the inside of the house online

so that they can get familiar with the layout. And then, a few weeks later, the big night of revenge finally rolls around. It's 2 a.m. And Bowie, Gavin, and Dylan, they put on their masks and they put on their hoodies. And then they head over to the theater. And once they get there, they sneak around back.

And the neighbor's camera, it actually gets some footage of them. I mean, you can actually see them here. But these guys, they're not worried. They're not going to get caught. They're in disguise. So they go around to the back door, and then, boom, they break in. And immediately, they start douching the walls with gasoline.

And then once they're done, and the gas cans are empty, they set the house of blades. And then as the fire starts to build up, the three boys, they make a run for it. And they disappear into the night. And it doesn't take long for this. for this fire spreads and it engulfs the whole house. Now here's where the story gets crazy.

I don't know how accurate the Find My Phone app is, but the house it led Bowie and his friends to is not the right house. The iPhone thief doesn't live there. Two Senegalese families live there, eight people, and they're all asleep during this. So then bam, suddenly the family wakes up, and the fire alarm is going off,

and there's smoke everywhere, and there are babies crying. So one of the dads, he runs over to the bedroom door, and he opens it. And a massive wall of smoke comes in. So, they can't leave that way. So then he runs over to the window, and he opens it. And he just straight up jumps out. And then his daughter jumps out, and he catches her,

and then his wife jumps out. And as they're jumping out, they can hear the father from the other family inside trying to gather up his wife and kids so that he can get them out of the house. So the dad, who's outside, he runs around to the front door. And he tries to punch in a key code and open the door for them

so the other family can get out. But for some reason, this code isn't working. Meanwhile, a police officer, he happens to be patrolling in the area, and he sees the fire from afar. And so, bam, he rushes over to help, and he gets to the house and he runs up to the front door, where he sees the dad trying to punch in the key code. And the officer just says, fuck it, and pow, he kicks the door in. But sadly, all he sees is one of the family members lying there on the floor unalived. And the heat forces the officer back out of the house.

So then the fire department arrives and they're battling the fire. But unfortunately, it's too. late. The house, as you can see, is already ruined. And the five family members that were trapped inside, they don't make it. So then police, they investigate all this. And them and the surviving family members, they can't figure out who could have done something so violent. Like, they don't have any enemies that they know of. Meanwhile, Bowie, Dylan, and Gavin, they're all back at their homes, lying low, trying not to get caught. And no one around them suspects anything. So it seems like they just went ahead and got away with murder.

Until months go by And police They have no leads on this But then during their investigation They get an idea They start thinking Maybe this fire wasn't so random

Like maybe it was planned out And they're thinking The arsonists Probably had to use Google To Google the home address And get directions to the place Or to get the layout of the inside of the house So then police go and they get a search warrant

That warrant requires Google To turn over any account information of anyone who Googled that home address in the days leading up to the fire. And that ultimately leads police to a couple of IP addresses based in the area. Those IP addresses lead them to Bowie, Dylan, and Gavin. And so police have their suspects, and boom, all three boys are arrested. So here's Bowie's mugshot, here's Gavin's mugshot, and I guess Dylan doesn't have a mugshot, because he's only 14.

But Dylan ultimately gets three years in juvenile detention and seven years in a young inmates program, and Gavin gets 40 years in prison, and Bowie, the ringleader of the whole thing, he gets 60 years in prison. And as far as I know, they never figured out who actually stole his iPhone. Jesus, that's sad.

Has anyone ever died because of a video game? Actually, yes. This kid unaligned someone because of Halo 3. Here's what happened. Now, the kid's name is Daniel, and Daniel's 15, living in Ohio, and he's a normal high school kid, and he loves playing football. It's a big part of his life.

But one day in 2006, his whole world changes, because he goes on a snowboarding trip with his friends. And so he's out and he's up on the mountains, snowboarding, goofing around, and suddenly, boom, he crashes, hard, and he injures his spine. Pretty bad. In fact, it's so severe, any further damage could potentially paralyze him. So he can't run. play sports anymore, including football, which is a huge deal to him.

I mean, he's been playing football since he was younger. And suddenly he has to stop, now what's he going to do? But then it gets even worse because Daniel contracts a staff infection. So for a while, he's super sick and he can't really move much at all. And so he's bedridden and he has to be home most of the time. And he can't go to high school anymore until he fully recovers. So I guess he starts getting homeschooled. and this goes on for around a year.

And during this year, he has to find a way to pass the time. And after a while, I guess his parents start letting him leave the house to go hang out at his friend's house, and it's there that he experiences something he's never experienced before. A video game called Halo. Now, Daniel has played games before, mostly with his dad. They would play a lot of like Madden, because, you know, he loves football, but he's never played anything like Halo before.

Which if you've never played, it's a first-person shooter, where you run around blowing up aliens. And sure, it's a bit violent, but whatever, it's fun. And instantly, Daniel loves this game, and he wants to play it all the time. In fact, over time, he starts getting obsessed with it. He plays it for hours at a time. Sometimes he'll play it up to 18 hours in a day, only stopping to, like, eat some cereal or go to the bathroom.

Now, at this part of the story, it isn't actually clear if he's still playing it at his friend's house or if he's now playing it at home or both. But it is clear that now, bro has a gaming problem. It is all he thinks about. He is addicted. Now, at some point, I guess, he brings the game up to his parents. And his parents, oh, they are not happy.

See, Daniel's mom and dad, who will just call mom and dad, mom and dad are super religious. In fact, dad is the pastor at a local church. So they don't want their kid playing violent video games? Jesus would never! Never. And so they tell him no. No violent shooting games are allowed in this house. And this pisses Daniel off. They just don't understand how much he likes this game. He doesn't have to play it at his friend's houses. Now what's he going to do? And so at this point, it's 2007 and he is 16 years old now. And around this time, Kaboom, Halo 3 comes out. And Daniel, of course, he wants to play it so bad, but he doesn't. doesn't want to disobey his parents. So finally, one night, he's all like, fuck all this, and he goes and he gets $70 and he sneaks out his bedroom window and he heads over to the

store and he buys this game. I guess he plans on playing it at home when his parents aren't paying attention. I don't know. Well, that same night, he gets back home and he sneaks back into his room through the window. And suddenly, bam, his mom catches him. And she sees that he's got a new game in his hand and that it's Halo 3, a violent game he's not supposed to have. And she's mad at him. And I guess she goes and tells Dad. And now Dad gets involved and he's all pissed off too and they snatch that game away from him. And Dad takes it and he hides it in a lockbox in the closet, which is like, I guess, a little safe. And he locks it up and he puts the key on his personal key ring with his car keys. Now at this point, Daniel could let all this slide. Maybe

forget about the game or whatever, but that's not what he does. He's addicted and he is not gonna let this go. So for the next few weeks, tension in the house is building and building. And one night, Daniel has finally had enough. He really wants to play that game. And dad is still like, nah, and things get heated and they get into an argument. And finally, dad gives him an ultimatum. You can either give up the violent,

video games or you can get the hell out. And Daniel's like, foin, I'll leave. And he does, he leaves and he goes to stay over at his friend's house. And that weekend is everything Daniel could ever want. I guess his friend's parents don't really care what the boys do and they end up playing Halo 16 to 18 hours a day all weekend long and nothing is stopping them. This is great. So it seems like maybe this will be Daniel's life from here on out and he's gonna be happy. Until. Apparently Daniel is still upset that his parents took his copy of Halo 3 and he just can't seem

to let it go. So he comes up with an insane plan to get his game back and punish his parents for taking it. First he goes back home and I don't know if he made up with his parents or if they worked it out but whatever he's back in his house. Then he waits for his dad to leave his keys on the counter, just like he does every night after work. And he low-key snatches those keys and he gets the key to the lockbox. Then he goes to the closet, opens the box, and grabs his game. But that's not the only thing he grabs.

Dad also keeps a 9mm locked in that box. So Daniel grabs it too. Meanwhile, mom and dad are in the living room. They're sitting on the couch because they're about to watch a baseball game. So Daniel enters the room and he asks them to close their eyes because he has a surprise for them. And they're like, oh cool, a surprise? This will be fun. And as soon as they close their eyes, Daniel pulls out that 9mm and he points it at his dad. And suddenly, blam, he shoots his dad in the face.

And his mom notices and opens her eyes, blam, blam, blam, he shoots her too. And she's unalived. Then while dad is on the floor, Daniel starts trying to put the pupil. in his hand because I guess he's gonna try to make it look like dad shot mom. But then suddenly, ding-dong, someone rings the doorbell. So Daniel stops what he's doing and he answers it. And it's his sister and her husband. And they're there because they're supposed to watch the baseball game with mom and dad.

So Daniel, he starts freaking out at them and he's like, no, don't come in. And he starts telling them that mom and dad are in some kind of big argument and that they don't really need to come in because it's just, chaos. Here's the thing though. Dad was shot in the face, but somehow he actually survives. And so he's still alive and he's on the floor and he can hear sister and her husband at the door. And he can't really talk because he's injured, but he starts moaning out as best as he can. So sister and her husband, they hear the moans and boom, they push past Daniel and they walk over to the living room and they see the horrible scene there. sister, she calls the police, while husband snatches that pew-poo from Daniel's hands so he can't use it

again. And then Daniel, I guess he doesn't know what to do. So then boom, he grabs his copy of Halo 3 and he gets into the family van and he starts driving to his friend's house. He is determined to play that game. But eventually, police catch up to him and bam, they arrest him. And I don't have a mug shot, but here's a picture of him in court. Anyway, after all that, he gets sentenced to life in prison. While luckily dad survives and he recovers, but unfortunately mom does not. Wow. So this guy apparently murders another guy over some chicken wings. Now the guy's name is Devious and Devious is 29 years old and he's living in Detroit, Michigan and Devious has a problem. He's got really bad anger issues,

like really bad. Like he's got the kind of where a small disagreement will turn into him pulling out his gun and threatening someone. Like, he's that kind of dude. But one night in 2022, these anger problems caused him to crash out big time. Because on that night, Devious decides to go to a friend's house. His friend is actually having a barbecue and he's going to have some people over. So Devious shows up there and there's some other people there. So I assume he's hanging out with some of those people and they're all eating chicken wings that

someone had made, and it seems to be a pretty normal evening. But then he starts interacting with this guy, Ronnie. And Ronnie, he's just another dude at the party from what I understand. He's just there, you know, having a good time. And so Devious and Ronnie start talking and chatting it up, and at some point the conversation turns to chicken, specifically barbecue chicken wings. And it seems like these two guys don't agree on chicken wings at all. Now, we know this conversation is about wings, but there's no reporting on exactly what was said. Maybe one of them took the last wing, maybe one of them said drumsticks are better than flats, maybe one of them said that the other one's grilling technique was weak. We genuinely don't have that information. But whatever Ronnie

says about these chicken wings, it pisses devious off real bad. Like he gets really upset. And like we've already established, he's got anger problems. In fact, the last time he got this mad, he pulled out a gun and shot his baby mama nine times. Luckily, she survived. Regardless, he's, I mean, he's a crazy dude. And now he's in this situation again. He's feeling disrespected or whatever, and he just can't walk away.

So this argument continues, and it keeps getting more and more heated, until Devious just snaps. And suddenly, in the middle of the barbecue, in front of everyone, he pulls out his pistol, and he points it at Ronnie, and blam, blam, He shoots him twice, and this, unfortunately, unalives him right there in the driveway.

And of course, this pretty much ruins the party. I mean, I imagine as soon as the gun went off, everyone is running away and they're screaming. Now, this isn't Devious's first crime. Like I said, he recently shot up his kid's mom, went to jail, and later got out on bond. But that means that now he's actually out on bond for that shooting. That also means that he has to wear one of those ankle monitors at all times. That's one of the conditions of his bond. So no matter what he does, police can easily track wherever he goes, so he can't hide.

So this is looking really bad for him. Regardless, he doesn't want to stick around at the scene of the crime. So he jumps in his car and he flees the scene. Next, I guess he drives over to his girlfriend's house and he stashes his gun there. I guess if he's going to get caught, he doesn't want to get caught with the murder weapon in his possession. Now, by this point, people have called police and paramedics. So police are all over that party, and they're questioning people trying to figure out exactly what happened. They're trying to figure out who the shooter is.

And pretty quickly, they learn that the guy they're looking for is Devious. Now, here's where the story gets even crazier. About a day goes by, and because of his ankle monitor, police have tracked Devious's location, and so a bunch of officers head out to find him. And at this point, he's hiding out at someone's house. I'm not sure who that someone is. There's no reporting on it. And I don't know if this is a coincidence or Devious hears police coming,

but either way, he's not trying to stay at this house he's at. He's going to flee. So he gets into his car and he's pulling out of the driveway and that is when skir the police pull up. So they put on their light because they're trying to pull him over. But Devious, he's not trying to stop and have a chat with these officers. So he speeds away and they follow him. And he keeps driving and they stay.

after him and this turns into a whole high-speed chase and Devious is leading them through his residential neighborhood going 65 miles an hour probably dodging pedestrians blown through stop signs and whatnot and I don't know what his end goal is here but it's clear that this man doesn't want to go back to jail but then as he's driving I guess Devious gets an idea he's thinking that maybe he can hide at I believe a family members place that's within driving distance So he speeds over there, and he pulls up to the house, and he ditches the car, and he runs right inside. And of course, police follow him straight there, and they get out, and they surround the place.

Meanwhile, Devious is inside, and there are some other people in there, including a two-year-old girl. And this two-year-old girl is allegedly his niece. And that is when he gets another idea. Instead of just hiding at this house, why not take this little girl hostage? So he grabs this toddler and he runs upstairs, and he barricades himself in a room with her. And now he is officially in a standoff with police. And police, they're taking this very seriously. They got to like bring in all the officers and the armored trucks and shit.

So these officers, they're all outside and they start trying to negotiate with him. They're like, come out peacefully. Release the kid. Nobody else needs to get hurt. But Devious isn't trying to hear all that. He is not coming out. And so hours go by, and he's just sitting up in that room, just with this young hostage. And at this point, it seems like friends and family members have joined police,

and they're trying to convince him to come out of the house peacefully. Now, at one point, police, they're trying to negotiate with devious, and it seems like he's finally ready to make a deal. And I guess he's like yelling his demands out the upstairs window, and he yells to the police that he'll let the two-year-old girl go, if they bring him a pack of cigarettes. So he wants to trade his hostage for some smokes. And for some reason, from what I read, police say no.

Like, wouldn't you want to do everything you can to get the little girl out of the hostage situation? Just give the guy his cigarettes. What are you doing? Anyway, so the standoff continues, and it seems like Devious is going to stay in there for as long as he can. Hell, he might not ever come out. Until Five hours go by And at this point, Devious, he doesn't have a lot of options

I mean, he can't shoot all these cops, there are too many of them He can't run, the places surrounded And the longer he stays upstairs in this room, The longer he has to babysit this two-year-old So he finally decides it's time to give up However, Devious can't just give up the way a normal person would Because he's not a normal guy

He's got to do it in the shittiest way possible. So he grabs his niece and he goes to leave the house and instead of walking out with his hands up, Devious walks out of that house, holding the two-year-old girl directly in front of him, using her tiny body as a human shield so that the cops don't shoot him. And luckily, eventually, police are able to safely get the little girl away from him.

Here is some footage of one officer carrying her away. We hope she is good and safe. Anyway, once she is safe, bam, police arrest devious. Here's his mugshot. And eventually, police go and they search his girlfriend's house and they find his gun, aka the murder weapon. And the last update that I read on this, the case has actually not gone to trial yet, so technically all of this is alleged.

And all because he couldn't walk away from an argument about freaking chicken wings. Great news. still figuring it out. Somehow things usually get worse before they get better. Apparently, that's how I roll. So bundle up and come along for the bumpy ride. Stream a new episode of North of North Tuesdays on CBC Gem. One night, a bunch of friends are in this SUV driving around, and they're driving to a friend's party. And they're in the middle of nowhere in New York State,

and it's pitch dark, and there's no cell service, and they got another car in a motorcycle all following them to this party. But as they're driving, the roads, keep getting sketchier and sketchier, and they eventually turn into dirt roads, and suddenly it dawns on them. They're lost. But then, in the distance, they see something, a house, and they're like, oh, maybe that's our friend's house.

That's where the party is. So they pull into the driveway, but this driveway, it's really long. It's like a long dirt road. And the closer they get to this house, they soon realize, oh, this isn't it. We're at the wrong place. And so they immediately turn around, and they start driving. away. And that is when suddenly, blam, they hear a gunshot and a bullet whizzes by. And one friend yells, someone's shooting at us. And oh my God, they all panic and scur! The driver floors it. And then

blam, a second gunshot and a bullet flies through the back windshield. What the hell? Who's shooting at them? And so the driver speeds away and he turns to his friends and he asks, Is everyone okay? And everyone says yes, they're okay. Everyone except for the girl in the passenger seat. Now her name is Kalyn, and Kalyn is 20 years old, and she doesn't answer. And so the driver asks again, Kalyn, are you okay? Kalyn? But Kalen still doesn't answer, because one of the bullets had hit her in the neck. And so who the hell just shot Kalin?

Well, to get to that answer, we need to talk about this guy, Kevin. Kevin, he's 65 years old, and he's kind of a grumpy old turd. All of his neighbors know him as just an angry dude. Like he drives all aggressively and he even barks at other people's dogs when he gets mad like roo-r-r-ruh. Like he's just that kind of guy. But one night, it's a normal night and Kevin is asleep in his bed next to his wife. When suddenly, a loud noise, wakes him up. What the hell was that? It sounds like a motorcycle.

And so he jumps out of bed to investigate. Here's the thing about Kevin though. Kevin doesn't like being woken up. In fact, Kevin hates him. a lot of things, but this, this really startles him and it makes him mad. And he can hear something loud is going on outside. Someone must be out there. And so Kevin, he keeps a pew-poo by his bed that he uses to shoot squirrels and other animals that get on his nerves. And so he goes and he grabs it and he heads to his

front door. And once he gets to his porch, he sees a bunch of people he doesn't know in his driveway driving away, a car, an SUV, and a motorcycle. Now here's the other thing about Kevin. He really hates people on his property. He's very protective of his land. So instinctively, he points his Pugh-Pew at the vehicles and he pulls the trigger. Blam! And then a bullet whizzes through the air.

And then he pulls it again. Blam! And that second bullet flies through the back windshield into the SUV and it hits Kaelin in the neck. And that is when the driver, who's also Kaelin's boyfriend, asks, Is everyone okay? And Kaelin doesn't answer. And they know something's wrong. They're like, oh my God, she's been shot.

And so, skirt, they speed away as fast as they can. And they try to call 911. However, remember, they're in the middle of nowhere, so they can't get any cell service. And so they keep driving. And they drive about five miles before they finally get a signal, and they can finally call 911. But unfortunately, by that time, it's too late.

And ultimately, Kaelin doesn't make it. Meanwhile, back at Kevin's house, Kevin is like, oh shit, I think I shot someone. And he's got to think fast. And so he decides to get rid of the evidence. First, he takes his pew-poo, and he wipes his fingerprints off. Yes, you heard that right. He wipes his own fingerprints off his own firearm.

Okay. But then he goes and he finds the shotgun shells to the slugs he fired, and he hides them. And honestly, I'm not exactly sure what his full plan is here. Regardless, pretty quickly, police arrive, and they're knocking on his door. Boom, boom, boom. But Kevin, he ain't answering. So they beat on it again. Boom, boom.

But he refuses to come out. Instead, he stays inside and he calls 911 on the police. And he tells the operator, I wish they would leave. I want to go back to bed. And so Kevin and police, they end up in a standoff for apparently an hour. Like Kevin refuses to come out and police refuse to leave until he comes out. But finally, after a long wait, he's. surrenders and he agrees to come out and police question him and they ask him what happened.

What happened? Nothing that I know. I don't know. I don't know. And yeah, police know that that's bullshit and so bam, they arrest him. Here's his mugshot. Police say a man shot and killed a 20 year old woman who was in a car that accidentally pulled into his driveway. And so Kevin definitely shot this woman. No question. No one's arguing that he didn't. But is he going to prison for this? Well, Eventually, old Kevin goes to trial, and there he tells a very different version of what happened. Here's what he says really happened. One night, it's a normal night, and Kevin is asleep in his bed next to his wife, when suddenly, a loud noise wakes him up.

What the hell was that? And so he grabs his pew-poo, and he looks outside, and he sees what he believes to be a motorcycle gang. They must be trying to break in. I mean, this must be a home invasion. And poor Kevin, he fears for his. life? I mean, what's he going to do? And so he yells to his wife, honey, go hide in the closet while I protect you. And then he goes outside. And to get these scary intruders to leave, Blam, he fires a warning shot into the air. And the intruders turn around and they start to leave.

But then the craziest thing happens. There just happens to be a nail sticking out of the floor of Kevin's porch. And suddenly, pow, Kevin trips over it and he falls to the ground. And blam, This causes his pew-poo to accidentally go off again. And that bullet flies through the back windshield of the SUV and it hits Kalin right in the neck. And therefore, it was a total accident. And so, yeah, this is actually the story that he tells the jury. Bro's entire defense is, oh no, I fell over. And so the judge hears all this.

And by this point, he has had enough of Kevin's bullshit. And he just lays into him. It's obvious to me that you feel justice. You don't take any responsibility for the outcome of your actions. You just don't get it. The first thing you do on the witness stand when you come up here and testify is you made a joke to the jury. You senselessly took the life of Cahillan Gillis and you have the gall to sit here and talk about how you plan to finish up the work on your house and race motor cross in the future. You don't deserve that.

What would make you think that you deserve those things? Any remorse you have isn't for the harm you've caused. The only regret you have is that you're finally facing the consequences for your actions. You murdered Kalyn Gillis. You shot at a car full of people and you didn't care what would happen and you repeatedly lied about it. You deserve to spend the maximum time in prison allowable under our law. And I don't make this decision because it's easy. I make it because it's what's deserved.

I make it because it's what's just. Those are some bars. But anyway, the jury finds him guilty as fuck and the judge lays down his sentence. So as to the conviction of murder in the second degree, I sentence you to a term of 25 years to life in prison. And so Kevin is sentenced to 25 years to life. And as he's escorted out of the courtroom, this is the reaction from everyone sitting there watching. That is wild. So this guy unfortunately crashes out and gets violent over some Chinese food sauce.

Now the guy's name is Glenn and Glenn is 49 living in New York City. city, and Glenn really loves Chinese food, and he especially loves the duck sauce that comes with it. And duck sauce is that orangeish yellow sauce in the packets, you know, it looks like this. And so he loves that sauce. He'll do anything for it. He'll even hurt people if he doesn't get enough of it. And so one night in 2021, he calls in a takeout order at a local Chinese restaurant called the Great Wall.

And as part of his order, he wants the extra duck sauce packets. So the workers say, of course, and they make up his order and they throw the packets in the bag. And so later, Glenn gets there and he gets his food and he pays for it and he leaves. Then I guess he gets home and he opens the bag and he checks for the duck sauce packets. And of course they're in there, but there aren't as many as he wanted. And Glenn, he's not the most stable guy, so he loses his mind. So he drives back to the restaurant, he busts in and he starts yelling like, I ask for extra duck sauce.

And keep in mind, he just left the place like 20 minutes ago, and he's already back. And so he starts yelling like, I ask for extra duck sauce. And the workers are like, we put it in the bag. And he's like, it's not enough. Then they offer to give him even more, but that still doesn't calm him down. And he's like yelling at all the workers that they screwed up his order, and he apparently starts yelling racist stuff at them. And if that isn't crazy enough, he starts demanding that he runs.

return the order and they give him a refund. However, this is all happening in 2021. So this is happening during the pandemic and the restaurant won't take back the food due to stricter COVID regulations. Plus, Glenn is just being irrational. And this pisses Glenn off even more. And he calls the police. And I assume he's like, they didn't give me enough duck sauce and now they won't give me a refund. So now police got to come and intervene and they start asking questions and the workers explain about, you know,

the pandemic rules and how they can't take orders back now, and Glenn gets even more upset, and he storms off and he leaves. Now, normally that would be where the story ends, but Glenn is not a normal guy, and he's not going to let this go. He can't. So he decides he's going to get revenge on these employees. And so one day, he starts calling them at work, and he'll get the workers on the phone, and he'll like threaten them, and he does this shit a lot. Sometimes he even calls 911 on the restaurant for no real reason. Now, one of the guys who works at the place, his name is Yon. And Yon, he's a delivery driver and he's been working there for 20 years. And about a month later, after Glenn's initial dispute over the sauce, Yon is at work and he's

getting deliveries ready or whatever, and he walks outside and boom, he sees Glenn. And Glenn is wearing a black mask, but Yon knows it's him. And he can see him using a knife to scratch up one of the workers' cars. And so obviously, Yon and some workers, they go over there to confront him, and they're like, what are you doing, bro? Stop. And Glenn turns to them and he's like, I have a gun. Be careful. This is the last time I'm going to tell you. Then Glenn starts walking away to his car. And of course, Jan and the other workers, they follow him. And when they get to his vehicle, they confront him like, bro, what the fuck's your problem? And this escalates. And they start pushing and shoving him, and he pushes back and some of the workers end up wrestling Glenn to the ground.

Then one of them actually pulls down Glenn's mask so they can get a photo of his face while the others take photos of his car and his license plate. Once they get that, they let him go and he gets away. Now, here's where Glenn starts to get violent. Across Canada in a Volvo. Destination. Vancouver. Turn left to leave. Travel west through. Approaching. Continue toward.

and they know he's a problem. And they repeatedly call the police and report him. But I don't know why police don't do anything. I don't know if they can at this point. maybe they're still investigating. I don't know, but they don't do anything. But a few more weeks go by, and it's winter, so it had recently snowed. And one night, one of the restaurant workers is out in front of the business, shoveling snow,

and suddenly, out of nowhere, boom, Glenn shows up. And he's holding a pistol. And he points it at the worker, and he says, how's your car? Remember me? I will unalive your entire family. And this worker, look, he, of course freaks the hell out, and he runs away, and he runs back inside, and he comes. calls the police. Meanwhile, Glenn, he's still outside, and he goes to the parking lot and he

finds a car that belongs to one of the workers and he slashes the tires. Then he flees before police can get there. And so now the workers at this place, they're terrified. This crazy duck sauce guy, he could show up again at any moment. And so a few months later, it's now 2022. And Glenn, he's ready to strike again. One night, he starts driving past the restaurant. just back and forth, creeping for like two hours. He drives by seven times during this period, like a crazy ex-boyfriend or something. Now, Yon is actually working that night, and at some point the restaurant gets a delivery order. And so they cook it up and they hand it off to Yon, and he gets on his scooter to drive and drop it off.

Here's the thing, though. Glenn is there in his car watching, and he sees him leave the restaurant, and he starts following him. And so Yon drives for a while and he gets to the location and he makes the delivery, then he leaves. And while he's driving back, boom, he stopped at a red light. And so he's sitting there waiting for the light to change. And Glenn, I guess he's still following him and he puts his car in park and he gets out and he walks up to him and he pulls out a pistol and he points it at him. And Yon suddenly sees him and he gets scared because, you know, it's the crazy duck sauce guy.

and he has a gun. And so he quickly starts trying to back away on the scooter, but Glenn pulls the trigger and blam! He unalives him right there on the street. Then Glenn gets back in his car and he drives away. Now, when this news gets around, people are obviously devastated. And the police are now involved,

and they're investigating the whole thing. And Jan was working. So, of course, police talked to his co-workers at the restaurant, And the workers are all like, it's got to be that crazy duck sauce guy. I'm telling you it was him. And so police, they get a warrant and they end up searching Glenn's apartment. And first of all, they discover that he's straight up a hoarder. Like here's a picture of the inside of his apartment.

That is disgusting. And here's another picture. And you can see there's just shit everywhere. Ugh. But while they're searching through all this trash, they open up his fridge and they can see that it's absolutely cramped. full of all sorts of condiments, but especially a whole bunch of those packets of duck sauce. He apparently hoards duck sauce too. Like this guy has a serious problem. And so anyway, eventually police get enough evidence against him, and so bam, he gets arrested.

Here's his mugshot. But it's not quite over, because he gets charged with a bunch of stuff, including Yon's murder, and he's facing potentially life in prison. but he gets out on bail. And one day, I guess he decides he doesn't want to go to prison and he gets a pistol and he unalives himself. Imagine getting so mad over a soccer game that you murder someone. Now the story starts with this guy, Andres.

And Andres is around 27 years old during this time and he's living in Columbia and he plays soccer for the national soccer team. And everyone in Columbia loves this guy, because Andreas doesn't trash talk, he doesn't play dirty, he doesn't start fights, he's generally a positive dude who stays calm and humble. And soccer is a huge deal to Colombians. They take that shit real seriously. So Andreas is not only famous, he's basically a national hero there. But then, one day in 1993, something happens that changes his life forever. On this day, his team plays a big game. against Argentina. And they destroy them, winning 5 to nothing. And this win changes everything,

because it means that Colombia will now go on to play in the World Cup. And this is as big as a deal as it could possibly get. And suddenly the hype around Andres and his team explodes. Their entire country is ecstatic, rooting for them to bring home the trophy. And that's great for Andres. I mean, this is a dream come true. Except there's one very very big. big problem. Not only are sports fans watching all this play out, but the Colombian drug cartel is also watching this play out. And these guys are used to making millions of dollars from sports games by gambling and laundering money and, you know, other crimes. So the drug cartels become heavily invested in this game, betting millions on Colombia to win. Thus, they stand to make

enormous amounts of money depending on how well Andres and his team play. So with that in mind, World Cup is not just about national pride. It's about keeping very dangerous people happy. So in 1994, Andres and his team fly up to the U.S. to California to play their first game of the Cup, Columbia versus Romania. And it doesn't go so well for them. They lose three to one. So Andres and his team just got embarrassed on the world stage. And this loss shocks the entire country, especially the drug cartel who just lost millions betting on it. And to them, this loss is unacceptable. It also means that Andres' team only has one more chance.

If they lose this next game, they're eliminated from the World Cup. And the drug cartel is not about to let that happen. They're going to monitor the team's every move, including which players the coach sends in to play. And here's where things begin to get really scary. Back at the hotel, Andres and his team are staying at in California, someone somehow hacks into the hotel television systems and where you typically see a welcome message when you turn on the TV. Now the message tells them not to let a certain player play or the entire team will be killed and their families will be bombed. And this terrifies the players.

I mean, they all know the drug cartel is involved and they now understand they're not just playing to win the tournament anymore. they're playing for their lives. But Andreas, he stays positive. He's a positive guy. He's ready to play his ass off and give it his all. So the next big game comes. And it's Columbia versus the USA. And over 90,000 soccer fans are there in the stadium watching.

While back home in Columbia, everyone is watching there too. Local businesses are closed for the day because everyone's at home watching and their families are watching. And of course, the drug cartels are watching. as well. And so, these guys have to win this time. So the big game starts, and right from the beginning, Andres plays as hard as he can, kicking that ball down the field and whatnot. But here's where the story gets crazy. About 20 minutes go by, and an American player tries to pass to his teammate, and And Andres tries to stop the pass. But then something unimaginable happens. The ball

deflects off his foot at an angle, and it rolls past his own. goalie straight into his own net, meaning Andres just accidentally scored against his own team. And And Andres is shocked, and the fans are shocked. And I'm sure the drug cartel goons are like screaming at their TVs. They're so mad. And poor Andres immediately knows what this means for his team. This is it for them. They're out.

And so ultimately, Columbia loses that game and eventually they go on to be eliminated from the World Cup entirely. And the entire country of Colombia is devastated by this, and people are pissed off and the fans are all upset, and everyone starts pointing the finger at Andres and that accidental goal that he made for the other team. Then pretty quickly, Andres and all his teammates start getting anonymous, threatening phone calls from fans and from other people who bet on the game. And so the team pretty much decides to stay in the U.S. until things cool down back home. But Andres, again, he's a positive guy. He tries to stay cool. He doesn't want to hide from his fans. So he returns to Colombia.

And of course, his friends and his family tell him that they're worried about his safety. His coach even tells him, people are furious. It'll be dangerous for you on the streets. So just stay inside. And so with the whole country talking about him, he decides to address the public. He writes a column, and he apologizes for the goal that he made. And he says, we must be gallant in victory, but much more so in defeat. Life doesn't end here.

Now, he has no idea how significant these words are going to be and just how wrong he's about to be. So 10 days after the game, Andres decides that he shouldn't keep hiding from the fans or from the public in shame. I mean, it was an honest mistake and people make mistakes all the time. He wants to get his mind off all that drama, so he goes out with his friends to a local nightclub. And for the first time, Andres feels good again.

Like he'll be able to move on from all this. But near his table, there's a group of men sitting at a different table. And in that group are these guys, the Gaillom brothers. And the Gaillan brothers are known criminals in the drug cartel. And these guys had bet a massive amount of money on Colombia to win that game. So when Andres scored that goal and Colombia lost, the Gaon brothers lost big. And they are still pissed off about it. And when they see Andres, they recognize him immediately.

and things get ugly. Like they start heckling him for scoring against his own team and they're like yelling things across the club. But Andres, he's chill, so he just ignores it. But the insults keep escalating. So Andres decides it's time to leave. And he walks outside to the parking lot and he gets into his car. But the Guyon brothers and their bodyguard follow him outside.

And the brothers continue insulting him. Now, Andres, being the chill person he's known to be, he tries to explain that the goal, it was just an accident, something that could happen to any player on any team. But these goons, they aren't interested in hearing any of that. They lost millions, and they want someone to blame. And suddenly, their bodyguard pulls out a gun and blam, blam, blam, blam, blam, blam, blam, blam, blam. He shoots And after each shot, he yells,

Goh! Mocking Andres' mistake. Then the men get into their vehicle. and they flee the scene. And Andreas, unfortunately, doesn't make it. All that because of a game of soccer. Now, the Gaillon brothers ordered the hit, but their bodyguard ultimately takes the fall for them,

and eventually, bam, he gets arrested. Here's his mugshot. Now, this part's definitely going to make you mad. Allegedly, the Gaillan brothers bribed the prosecutor's office, and so they're never charged with anything. But their bodyguard is sentenced to 43 years in prison. However, because of their connections, he gets out after only serving 11 years. You won't believe what happened to this woman after she appeared on the Jerry Springer show.

Now, the woman, her name's Nancy, and Nancy's in her late 40s when this story starts, and Nancy has a problem. Her husband, this guy, Ralph, with an F, Ralph, is getting abusive. He starts, like, pushing her around and getting physical with her. And Nancy isn't going to put up this. So in 1999, after only being married for 15 months, she finally leaves him and files for divorce. However, for some reason, Nancy can't seem to quit this loser. Eventually, she gets lonely and they get back together and they start smashing again. And over time, they become an on-again, off-again thing. But then it gets worse. In the year 2000, during this on-again-off-again time, Ralph gets a little time off-again from Nancy, I guess, guess this is when they're not together, and he starts smashing with this other woman, her name's Eleanor. And Ralph and Eleanor really hit it off. In fact, they like each other so

much that they quickly get married. But of course, Ralph doesn't tell Nancy that. In fact, he's still smashing with Nancy on the side, even though he's now married to this new woman, Eleanor. Yeah, this whole thing is a total mess and it doesn't get better. Because just over two months later, after marrying Eleanor, Ralph apparently gets this genius idea to drag all of them onto the Jerry Springer show, which it's the year 2000s. So the Jerry Springer show is one of the hottest talk shows on television during this time. Now, here's the thing, though. Nancy is still not over Ralph. She really wants to get back together with him. And she now knows that he is with Eleanor, but she doesn't seem to care. In fact, she's told by the Jerry Springer show, producers beforehand that the premise of the episode they're going to be on is that she is going

to reunite with Ralph, that Ralph is going to leave Eleanor and be with her. And Ralph himself is totally acting that way and playing into this false narrative. He even smashes with Nancy the night before they go on the show. However, unfortunately, that is not, in fact, what the episode is about. The episode is called Secret Mistresses Confronted, and it's really going to be Ralph with Eleanor ambushing Nancy when she comes out and telling her to get out of Ralph's life. They've got the audience thinking that

Nancy is some kind of stalker, and they plan on humiliating her, which is just incredibly cruel. Anyway, and so Nancy goes on the show. Nam, what's going on? Ralph and I are trying to restore our marriage And this trailer trash won't leave us long. Ralph loves me. Ralph wants to be with me. And you red-headed bitch from hell.

But see, Nancy has a little surprise for Eleanor. She drops that bomb about how she and Ralph smashed the night before. You said you talked to him the last couple nights. Anything else? I slept with him the last few days. You see. But Eleanor doesn't seem to be mad at Ralph for cheating because I guess she's just going to stand by. her man. You know what? I hope you enjoyed yourself immensely the last two nights because

it's the last time you were ever going to see. The last time. He wants to be with me. He's back here to be with me. Okay, let me just remind you that this is Ralph. Like this is the turd they're fighting over. But anyway, so then they bring out Ralph and the audience like immediately hates him. Here he is, Ralph. Where some see heroes and others see egos. Bloomberg sees the era of billionaire athletes. A fad to some, the future of money to others. We see crypto's trillion dollar swings.

Yes, I had sex with my ex-wife yesterday. Yes. But the matter of the fact, a month ago, I married Ellie and I do love Eleanor.

And so Ralph chooses Eleanor, as he and Eleanor had planned. And as humiliating as this is for Nancy, she still has some dignity. He's telling you he doesn't want to be with you. That's fine. Bye. And so Nancy walks off stage and immediately the producers are like, oh shit, because they wanted her to stay and like start a fight and act all crazy and all the other things that are typical for an episode of Jerry Springer. And so they try to convince her to come back and brawl by

saying they won't pay for her plane ticket home unless she does. But none of that works and Nancy just leaves. Good for her. And I wish I could say that that's the end of it all, but obviously it's not. Because about a month later, Ralph is back on his bullshit again and he breaks up with Eleanor and he and Nancy decide to give their relationship another try. And so they get back together for a while and Nancy and Ralph enter into a lease option to buy a house in Florida. I mean, they're really going for it. And of course, Nancy is the one putting down the money for the down payment for the house because, you know, Ralph's a loser. And it isn't long before she and Ralph start fighting again. And he's getting all violent and abusive with her again.

And I guess he feels like the house they're leasing is rightfully his because he's. He invites his adult nephew to move into the house with them. And to make it worse, during all this, he gets back together with Eleanor, and he invites her to move into the house with them as well. So now there's Ralph, Nancy, Eleanor, and this random-ass nephew all living in this house. And even though Nancy feels like the house is hers, she can't take this bullshit anymore. And she leaves. Good for her again.

And then she gets a lawyer. she seeks a court order to get her house back from Ralph because like she's the one who put down the down payment. And ultimately the judge grants Nancy ownership of the house and also grants her a restraining order against Ralph. So then Ralph, Eleanor and adult nephew are escorted to the house by police and told to collect all their stuff and get the hell out. And so now Nancy has her house and Ralph's goofy ass is out of her life and everyone can just move on and be happy. Until That same day after getting their stuff out of the house, Ralph Eleanor and the adult nephew,

they all head to a local bar. And coincidentally, that Jerry Springer episode that they were in just happens to be airing on this day. Because, you know, shows take a while to air after you film them. And so they're in this bar and Ralph is sitting there watching the episode

and he watches like the entire thing and he's drinking a lot and he's getting pretty wasted and this episode is not made. making him look good. And he is super pissed off about losing that house to Nancy. And he's probably watching the studio audience boo him on the screen and I'm sure he doesn't feel good about that. And suddenly, bro just snaps. And he is not going to let all this slide. And so later, he goes back to the house, which is now Nancy's. And she's home. And he goes inside and he finds her there in the kitchen and suddenly, boom, he attacks her. And he grabs her by the neck and power. And power. And

he hits her in the face over and over again until she's eventually unalived. Then Ralph flees, because he knows he's in trouble. And police immediately start looking for him. And they can't find him for a while and they like get a warrant for his arrest and he and Eleanor, they go on the run for about four days. And I guess they plan on fleeing to Canada, but when that doesn't work, Ralph finally turns himself in. And so, bam, they arrest him.

And I don't have a mugshot, but here's a picture of Ralph in police custody. And ultimately, he goes to trial, and he's found guilty, and he gets sentenced to life in prison. While Eleanor, who was with him on the run, she gets no prison time. Because she claims that she had nothing to do with the murder and that she didn't even know what happened. And I don't know if that's true, but that's just what she claims. And by the way, to this day, Ralph and Eleanor are still married. Like, she still goes and visits him in prison all the time. I guess they're gonna make it work.

Okay. So this girl is having such a hard time keeping her grades up in school. She literally unalives someone over it. Now, her name is Sydney, and Sydney's in high school. She's a really good student. She gets good grades. She's a high achiever. She mentors other younger students.

She is absolutely killing it. So it's no surprise when she graduates high school and gets an academic scholarship to a nearby university about an hour away from where her family's house is. But then, in the fall, when school starts, she moves into the university dorms and starts going to classes. And pretty quickly, she discovers that university is much harder than high school. The workload is more, the expectations are higher,

and poor Sydney is having trouble keeping up. And she's not used to this. Failure at school is not her thing. And sometimes she goes back to her family home to visit her parents, who we'll just call her mom mom and we'll call her dad dad. She goes back to visit and mom will ask her like, hey, how are you doing in school? And Sidney lies.

She's like, I'm doing great, mom. And this goes on for months. She struggles and then she lies to her parents about it. And by the end of her freshman year, things still haven't improved. In fact, at this point, she's doing so terrible she's failing some of her classes, which puts her scholarship at risk.

But still, she bottles it all in and goes home for the summer and doesn't tell her parents that anything is wrong. Then it gets worse. Fall semester starts. Sophomore year, Sidney goes back to college and goes back to living in the dorm. But at this point, the school has put her on academic probation. And soon enough, she's falling behind in her classes again and she can't keep up. And of course, when her parents ask her how school's going, she continues to keep it from them. She's just too afraid to admit that she's struggling. She just doesn't want to disappoint them. And then,

pretty quickly, the semester ends. And boom, Sydney has failed three out of the four classes she took that semester. And that's when she gets an official notice from the school saying her enrollment has been suspended and she has lost her scholarship. And Sydney, she doesn't know what to do. She's never disappointed her parents before. So she goes home for the holidays and she still refuses to tell them anything. And she keeps pretending as if nothing is wrong like school's going great.

In fact, she doesn't tell anyone about her suspension. Not her parents, not her best friend, no one. And she keeps this lie going. And a month later, when school's back in session, she just goes back. Even though she's been suspended and is no longer enrolled, she returns to her dorm and acts as if she's still a student and just keeps on living there. And she attends sorority meetings and she attends classes sometimes as if nothing ever happened. And then eventually the school admins find out she's doing it.

Like, they just straight up kick her out of the dorms. Like, they evict her and they deactivate her key card. And so, poor Sidney, she doesn't know what to do. I mean, she can't move back home because then her parents will know she failed college and they'll be disappointed in her. So, instead of going home, she decides to keep the lie going. And she rents out a room at a nearby hotel and she just starts staying there. All the while, her parents have no idea any of this is going on.

Until. One day, Sidney's dad is at work and he's trying to log in to the university. online portal so that he can take care of Sydney's tuition. But oddly, he can't log in. So he reaches out to a school admin and they get on the phone and the school admin drops a bomb on him. She says, sir, you can't log in because Sydney is no longer enrolled. And dad is straight up shocked.

He said, oh, how could our honor student be suspended from school? Now, their whole family uses one of those 360 location sharing apps. So he looks at it and he sees that Sydney is at his house, the family home. And dad decides to go home. to go home and confront her and figure out what's going on. So he does. He drives home and he confronts her, and he tells her what the school told him. And Sidney, just thinking on her feet, she kind of half admits that she's having some trouble, but she continues to lie and say that everything is fine and that she's still taking some classes, which just isn't true. So they talk it out a bit and dad

seems to be understanding, but he has to go back to work, so he leaves. Then Sidney's mom comes home, and this is where things get crazy. Sydney's mom had also left work early to come home to talk to Sydney. And when she gets there, she immediately calls the school admins to talk to them about the details of her daughter's suspension. But they're not available and the school tells her they'll call her back. Then mom goes and confronts Sydney. She wants to know what the hell is going on.

Why did she get suspended? And they get into an argument and pretty quickly it gets heated. And it escalates and soon they're yelling at each other. And in the middle of all that, suddenly the phone rings. And it's the university returning. mom's call. So mom gets on the phone with the admins and they start chatting and then out of nowhere, bam, Sidney hits her mom over the head with a cast iron skillet. And mom screams and Sydney hits her again and again and again until mom goes down. And this whole time, the college admins are still

on the phone and they can hear all this violence going on in the background and they start freaking out. But then click, the phone goes dead. And while mom is down on the floor, Sidney, she's not done. She grabs a steak knife from the kitchen and she starts stabbing her mom. She stabs her over and over again. Two dozen times. She eventually unalives her. And while this is happening, the school admins are still trying to call back and make sure everything's okay.

And then finally, on the third try, someone picks up the phone. And it's Sydney. But she's pretending to be her mom. Like, yes, this is Sidney's mom. And the admins don't buy it. They're like, uh, no, this sounds like Sydney. And so Sydney quickly hangs up. And the admins are like, what the fuck was all that?

And they call police and ask them to go over there and do a welfare check. So then police head over to Sydney's house. Meanwhile, Sydney, she's still at home, standing over her mom who she just unalived. And she has no idea what to do. So she starts to panic. She's gotta cover this up. And she pretty quickly comes up with a plan. First, she breaks a nearby window in the house.

Then she starts preparing a story to tell to the police about how some random burglar just broke in and unalived her mom. And within a few minutes, police arrive. And body cam footage shows them trying to usher her out of the house as she's trying to tell them this bullshit story. We heard a bag and she told me to get a breathing. So I came back and she was on the ground. But unfortunately for her, pretty quickly, police see wounds on Sidney's hands, indicating that she broke the window in the house herself. So then bam, they arrest Sydney and here's her mugshot.

And she's charged with murder, she goes to trial, and she's found guilty, and she's sentenced to 15 years to life. All over some bad grades. Shout out to Ohio.
