It'd be good exposure for you if you're not idiot.
As long, yeah, I must say there's got to be some caveats there.
All right, guys.
If this is your first time listening, we have Q&AF.
today we're going to have CTI tomorrow that stands for Cruz the internet that's where we put
topics on the screen we speculate on what's going on in the world we talk about we talk about it we joke
about it and then we talk about how we the people have to solve these problems going on in the
world other times you're going to have real talk um that's five to 20 minutes to be giving you some real
talk and sometimes we're going to have 75 hard verses that's where people have completed 75 hard come on
the show they talk about how they were before how they are now and how they use the 75 hard program
to reclaim their life.
If you're unfamiliar with 75 hard,
it is the initial phase of the Live Hard program,
which is available in its entirety for free
at episode 208 on the audio feed only.
75 Hard, Live Hard is the world's most famous,
most popular mental transformation program ever.
Again, it is free.
Episode 208 on the audio feed.
There's also a book called The Book on Mental,
You can get that book at Andy Fursala.com.
It has the entire Live Hard program plus a whole bunch of other content about mental
toughness, what it is, why it's important, how to use it to become the ultimate version of yourself.
We do have a fee for the show.
The fee is very simple.
We ask that you share the show, man.
We're this only show in the world.
We're the biggest show in the world that does not run ads.
All right.
We don't do that because I don't want to be told what to say ever.
It's not what I do.
So we ask very simply.
Instead of pumping your ears full of half the show being ads, we just ask to share the show.
If it makes you think, if it makes you laugh, it gives you new perspective.
If you learn something, it's worth sharing, do us a favor and don't be a ho.
Share the show.
And don't forget about those short form clips too when you see those run out.
You're doing this a big solid by sharing those out.
Help us quite a bit.
Yeah.
For sure, man.
All right.
What's up?
What's up, dog?
Nothing.
Yeah, what's going on, man?
Nothing.
What'd you do?
Pick out that beer today?
or what you know I did a little a little what do they call it what are these
millennials called self-care yeah self-care self-care nice conditioner in there like it
does it look good yeah I mean you look good yeah thanks well looking good too thank you
so you you're lined up and stuff yeah yeah yeah it's haircut day that's what I'm
saying I had to I had to get in dude I hate because I feel like my my little
mustache here starts like getting in my yeah you got trim that I fucking can't stand that
dude yeah there's nothing that piss you got to trim that dude you got little scissors and you
gotta like prim that out yeah I just fucking zip zip yeah all right yeah but yeah man
what's going on with you did you had a busy day bro you've been rolling it has been one of the
busiest days I've had in a long time but you know it had me thinking I think this is a
interesting little topic here because you know it's important you got to do it yeah
just got to do it yeah yeah you know what I'm saying I don't think I've ever seen anybody be
able to do that better than you know what I'm saying like like it doesn't matter because not
Every day is like fucking.
Well, I don't know if that's true.
I mean, there's a lot of people that are that are highly effective and they just do what needs to be done.
But I mean, at the end of the day, man, the, the, you know, like I had this question in the operator standard.
And if you're not familiar with operator standard, you should be.
Go to operator standard.com.
It is some truly, truly, truly, truly influential technology that will help you change your life.
But it also hosts the MFCEO project, which is where most of my personal development
content is hosted. So we do a show, at least one show a week there. We do calls and things like that.
But I had a guy asked me a question in there yesterday on one of the live calls. And he was like,
you know, how do you balance your to-do list, your ancillary tasks with your critical task?
Because we have a system that we teach in there about how to be real effective. Actually,
the technology does it for you. It's the only technology in the world that like you literally tell
it who you want to be, what you want to earn, how to do it. And it back.
tracks it to today and tells you what you need to do today, tomorrow, the next day. So it's pretty
fucking revolutionary shit. But anyway, he's like, how do you balance getting your critical
task done and then getting your to-do task? And just for an example, critical tasks are tasks
that legitimately move you forward towards your desired outcome. Ancillary tasks are more
to-dos. Like, I got to pick up the kids from school. I got to mow the grass. I got to do the laundry,
those kind of things.
And he's like, how do I do this with the critical tasks and, you know, still get all this stuff done and don't let it, you know, accumulate.
I'm like, you got a list, bro.
You just cross it off.
Check it out.
What's next?
This is very simple.
You know, my dad used to teach us this thing when we were younger.
Make a list.
He would say it like this.
Make a list, call a list.
When do you do it?
You do it now.
Okay.
So he would say it like this.
Make a list, call a list.
When?
now now he would always say that and he was talking in regards to like sales calls but
this is the same thing with your life okay you have a fucking list and you do it and effective
people do the list and not effective people put it off and that is like at its essence
the reality of winning okay yeah well it's a hard thing to come to grips with because i'll
admit it myself right like i think we've all been there in a way it was never that i didn't know
what to do. It was, that was never the problem. It never is the problem. You know what I'm saying?
Yeah. Coming to to that, I guess awareness, I don't know what you call it, but it's like, I mean,
that can be difficult, but it's like, no, but you know exactly what the fuck you got to do.
Yeah. Well, that's why it's important to, to develop the skill set of discipline. Yeah.
Okay. Discipline is not a trait that most people inherit or just inherently possess. It is a
skill set that they invest into that become stronger and stronger and stronger, the more they
invest into it. And when you have,
a high discipline skill set that is sharp it is very easy to execute against the list you know so
you got to know what you got to do which most people know what they got to do now if you're trying
to build an empire you may not know but that's what our system is for it'll tell you um you may not
know everything but you're going to know generally right and then you got to be able to do it
and those are the two elements of of execution and most people know what to do
They just don't possess the ability, the skill set to follow through, especially when they don't feel like doing it.
And when you don't feel like doing it is the most important part because that's where everybody else quits, kicks it down the road, stalls out.
And that's your place where when you execute, you're gaining ground on everybody else in the business space.
So, you know, yeah, man, it's not a, it's not a mystery.
It's just a mystery if you don't think about it.
You know, most people do know what to do.
And there's no excuse nowadays with the amount of information available to not really know
what to do.
You just have to look, right?
But being able to do it, that's a totally different story.
And that's why the 75 hard program exists.
Yeah, it's a beautiful thing, man.
It's a beautiful thing.
It's just like, I mean, again, off-trial.
A lot of people think 75 hard is just about getting in shape, dude.
It's not even about getting in shape.
It's about honing the mental discipline.
And by getting your mental discipline and your mental toughness and your grit, your fortitude,
that develops the skill of it.
of adherence and the skill of adherence
is what creates the physical transformation.
100% bro.
You know it's crazy because like I mean even just with me again
you know that's probably the longest I've been consistent
with my my fitness yeah you know what I'm saying but it's like bro I've been
with you for six years yeah I know all the workouts you knew what to do yeah I'm
I'm saying like I got the fucking app to track my like I have all of that I knew
exactly what to do I just didn't adhere to it yeah you know I'm saying so I
mean it's it's 98% of people that lose lose because they lack the ability to
to actually be disciplined against what they know they need to do.
Bro.
I love it, man.
Well, let's make some people better.
Yeah, shall we?
Guys, Andy, we got three good ones for you.
Guys, Andy, question number one, Andy,
I've been promoted a few times over the last couple of years.
And now I'm running a division of a company.
Something I've realized is that I still think like an employee.
I worry about mistakes.
I wait for approval and I focus on doing my job instead of growing the business.
Have you seen this problem before with any of your employees, and is there any advice you could give me to stop thinking like someone who worked in the business and start thinking like someone who owns it?
Yeah, I mean, here's the advice I would give you.
If you don't make that adjustment, which you clearly already know that you need to make, you're going to stall out.
You're probably going to lose that position that you've worked so hard to gain.
Because at the end of the day, the top performers inside an organization do everything well.
They do their job well.
They execute at a high level.
But the biggest difference is between other people that might execute at a high level and like, let's say A and B players, okay?
B players will do their job at a high level.
They would do their job at a very high level.
They will do it great.
A players will do that, but also possess two other skill sets that the B players don't.
Number one, they understand how to replicate their skill set.
So they can work with someone and they can train that person to become a mirrored version of them.
That is extremely valuable to an organization because the biggest problem for organization is finding effective people.
Okay.
So that's skill number one.
And skill number two is the ability to identify a problem, take initiative to create the solution, execute the solution before that ever gets to your superiors.
Okay.
Those two skill sets differentiate being a cog in a machine and being an extremely valuable asset of a machine that is indispensable.
And that's where you want to be because that's where the money is inside of an organization.
The highest paid individuals are literally paid that much because the company cannot afford to lose them.
You have to understand what the game is.
the game as an employee is not just show up, do your work, clock in, clock out, be there for five years,
and then you automatically get to, you know, make a bunch more money.
That's not how the fuck it works.
Now, a lot of your parents told you that's how it works, right?
They say, oh, well, I've been there for this many years and I'm only making this.
Yeah, bro.
And the reason that you did that was because you don't have the right mentality of what it takes to escalate your career.
You are going to work.
You're clocking in.
You're clocking out.
And you're not doing anything else.
And that's fine.
If that's what the life you want to live, then that's what you're going to live.
But you can't expect to live the other life by operating.
You know, you can't expect to live the A player life like operating like a B player.
It's never going to fucking happen no matter how much time you work there.
Yeah.
Okay.
So you have to understand that you will be paid in direct proportion to your indispensibility to the company.
Period.
All right.
And what does that mean?
That means I do a great job.
I'm looking for opportunities to get better.
grow the company. I am able to replicate my talents and delegate properly. And I am able to
identify areas that are problems, fix them, handle the situation, and continue to move forward.
Okay. So, and that, that identification of problems also applies to the identification of opportunity.
Okay. So when they see an opportunity, these people who are A players will identify that opportunity.
execute against that opportunity if it's within their realm of being able to.
But if they aren't able to execute on the new opportunity,
they will certainly bring,
they will do their research,
they will say this is what's working,
and this is what I think we should do,
and they will create value in that way.
Yeah.
You know what's something that's interesting too?
Like, you know,
I look at the core execs you got here, right?
Like the errands and the wheels, right?
there is a
like it's weird because they're not
I don't look at those guys as like employees
like they are bought in oh yeah you know what I'm saying
I think this is an important piece too to like mention
like from that like I think they have
just as much ownership they're in that
mentality in that regard you know what I'm saying
how does that get cultivated?
Well I mean when you build something together for 20 years
you're going to have that yeah you know what I mean
yeah so like they believe it's theirs you know
So they have a skin.
It couldn't do without them.
Yeah.
So like that's, that's a major thing.
Like, that's what I'm talking about.
They understand what I just said and they do those things.
Yeah.
I love it, man.
I love it.
Yeah, look, dude, most people expect it to be on a time frame.
They expect that if they go to a place, like, you see this advice on the internet.
It's milestones.
No, you see this advice on the internet, which is fucking terrible advice.
I've seen it so many times.
And usually it's from fucking people who really haven't done anything or,
won anything. It's just talking head nonsense. But it sounds appealing to people because it like rallies
people around their own loserdom. Okay. What I mean by that is this. This advice, and you hear it all
the time, if you've worked at a job for three years and you haven't been promoted, you should leave that
job. Okay, well, there should also be a second question asked. What kind of person were you for those
three years. Were you the person who showed up and half asked their job? If that's the case,
you're lucky, you didn't get fired. Are you the person who showed up and did their job? That's
the minimum requirement. You're already being paid for that. Okay? Or are you the person who showed up,
who became the best that they could, who contributed to the company in a real way, not like their
poor me way when they go home? I do everything. No, a real honest way. Are you, you,
you the best you could be? Do you come to work every day and contribute to that company? Do you
actually develop your own skill set? Do you identify problems? Do you identify opportunities? Do you
act on those ahead of time? Do you take the initiative? Do you help other people get better? Okay.
Now, if you work at a company for three years and you do all that shit, then yeah, there's a question
to be had. That's right. But this advice of three years and out is terrible.
advice because this is the way that most people ruin their financial lives. They work
somewhere for three years. They don't really fucking do what I just said at all. They don't get
promoted. And then they go to try something else for three years. Okay. And then that same thing
happens again. And then they try something else for another three years. And that same thing
happens again. Well, now you're nine years wasted. What if you had showed up for nine years as
that other person, a player, you would have been promoted fucking infinite amount of time.
inside the right organization that is growing. Now, I think it's very important for people to identify
what kind of organization they are in. Are you in an organization that is actively trying to grow?
If you are in an organization that's been around for 40 years and they come in and they beat their
chest, well, we're a staple here. We're 40 years. That company is probably not a good place for the
ambitious person. Now, it's probably a great place for the person who is the B player who wants to
show up and do their job and go the fuck home or the C player who wants to come in and
pretend they did their job and go the fuck home, you probably go do okay there. But you certainly
aren't going to live the A player lifestyle, meaning you're not going to become a highly valued,
highly compensated member of that team because that's what it takes to do that. Yeah. And brother,
you know, the interesting part about that too is nobody like nobody gives more grace than they
will give to themselves. And so like I feel like, you know, that topic of like, you know,
Well, are you really doing it?
It's so easy people.
Of course I am.
I'm definitely doing it.
Come on, man.
Most of these people lie.
They lie about everything.
They lie to themselves, bro.
They lie about winning what actually winning is, right?
Like, look at all the people in society right now that talk about how they're winning.
And like, are you really winning, bro?
Are you really winning?
Like, are you actually in shape?
Are you actually earning the money you want to earn?
Or are you just saying, well, I'm a fucking winner.
Okay.
That's been cultivated in the culture.
for the last 20 years by participation trophies,
making people feel like special little butterflies,
et cetera, et cetera, et cetera.
Look, bro, I'm gonna tell you this.
Winning is fucking winning and losing is losing.
And there are very few winners and there are a whole lot of losers.
And you are either winning or you fucking aren't.
And the biggest mistake that people make is that they justify,
they say they're winning and then justify why the results aren't showing up.
Yeah, well, okay, well, if you say you're winning
and then you're justifying why you don't have all the shit that the winner
has, how can you actually learn what to do because you think you're already doing it?
You cannot get better when you think like that.
So it's very important for people to not justify the reality of what they're actually doing
because that's what keeps them trapped in this place that they hate.
You follow me?
Absolutely.
It's a big deal, bro.
You cannot justify away the actual scoreboard.
Okay?
There are no moral victories.
There isn't like you don't get paid for.
losing. You know, you could say all you want. You could come off the field and the scores 47 to
fucking two and you can say, we did our best. Nobody fucking cares, man. That's not reality. Your mom
might care. Your dad might say, okay, son, you did a good job. But the rest of the world
works in reality. It doesn't work in idealism. It doesn't work in justification. It doesn't
work in lies. It works in the fucking score. What is the score? Are you putting up points or are you
not and people that don't don't get paid that's it there are winners and there are losers that is it
that is it you cannot justify it away and by you justifying it away and saying well i did my best or i
try really hard or i did the you're actually keeping yourself from telling yourself the truth which
you actually allow you to become that person that you want to become it's all the other excuse oh well i mean
if i had the right team though i'd be yeah it's bullshit it's like come if you if you if you don't have the right
team then why don't you make the right team if you don't fucking if your players if your guys around you
are costing you opportunity then why you make them better there's all kinds of things bro excuses
man most people aren't even aware of the excuses they tell themselves dude that's the problem
they're flying blind they're highly unaware okay they don't realize that every single problem that
exists in their life literally only has one common denominator they cannot fucking realize
that. And because they lack that awareness, they can't get better, which keeps them trapped exactly
where they are or worse. That's real, bro. It's real shit, man. Guys, Andy, question number two.
Andy, I always thought if my business grew, things will get easier. Instead, every time we've grown,
it's exposed a different weakness in me. First, it was sales, then leadership, now it's communication.
it feels like the business keeps demanding a better version of me.
Was that your experience too?
And how did you keep growing faster than the problems?
That is everybody's experience, bro.
Like if you start knowing nothing,
then the lessons that come along through the journey
are the lessons that hone in your skill set.
So every time,
every time, yeah, dude, the answer is yes.
Did I go through that?
Yes.
Am I still going through that?
Yes.
Every level of business is going to require,
an evolved version of you.
You are going to have to learn new skills.
And the way that this person described it is really perfect.
Every level up exposes a weakness in yourself that you then have to learn that skill.
And this is why people who have been doing things for 10, 20, 30 years are really fucking well-rounded
great people at what they do because they have gone through that process.
This is also why you can't listen to someone who's been doing
something for five fucking years and think that they know what the fuck they're doing.
They don't.
They might sound good, but the reality is, is a lot of the shit that they believe is actually
wrong, okay?
And we see a lot of these people come online and say these things with conviction.
But if I was able to access social media at 12 years in, a lot of the advice that I would
have been giving was actually terrible advice because I hadn't gone through the processes
yet of having to hone in those skill sets and make those mistakes, you know, the leadership,
the sales, the communication, all the things that he mentioned. So yeah, dude, that is totally normal.
And you should welcome those because that's what actually teaches you how to be great at what you
do. Most people try to avoid all of these hard situations. Champion people, people who make
tremendous progress in their life, people who win over and over and over and over again, they
see these situations as like, fuck yeah, all right, I'm going to get better. Okay. This is, this is where
I learn this thing. This is where I learned that thing. And yeah, man, like all those things you
mentioned are all things I had to learn. And when I had to learn them, it was hard. And yeah,
when your business gets bigger, it's harder. And these are all natural things of being an entrepreneur,
you know, and that goes against what we're told is entrepreneurship, right? This is why I'm so
critical about the way entrepreneurship is portrayed on the internet it's portrayed as this easy
thing that you know yours quick reward and all these things and the glory story of started two years
ago and sold for a hundred million dollars in two years and shit like that that's all the shit you hear
but the vast majority of entrepreneurs that are successful the reason they're successful is because
they went through all these processes and they know from experience the truth
Okay, there's a big difference between theory and actuality.
There's a big difference between reading someone else's shit and reciting it and actually having been through it.
Okay. And this is why you have to be selective about who it is you listen to and you really have to vet them.
There's a lot of people that exaggerate their success like not even a little bit like 10fold in order to get you to pay attention to them.
And that's why you have to look into these things.
So you're saying that that's a sign.
If you see a weakness, that should be a sign
that you're at least even moving in the direction.
That's a good sign.
It's a great sign.
Yeah.
Okay, so here's a question I have then in that case,
because the tool belt's gonna get heavy.
Yeah, well.
Right?
Like if all these skills and not only acquiring
that new skill is important, but like you gotta keep
that tool fucking sharp while you're learning this next two.
Let me ask you something.
You know what I'm saying?
Let me ask you something.
Yeah.
When you go read something, okay, and you've read it.
And like, for example, okay, let's take playing the guitar.
It's a great example of something because it's a lifelong skill set that you continue to get better at.
And it's perishable.
Right.
Business skills are perishable too.
If you don't pay attention to what's going on, the environment changes.
And now you're basically a rookie again, all right?
This is why people who sell their businesses and try to get back into business three or four years down the road.
It's really hard for them to do it.
They're cold.
Yeah.
It's a cold start on the show.
So you can read a book about playing the guitar.
All right.
And then you go pick up a guitar and you're like, this is a D chord.
This is a G chord.
You know, this is an A.
Right?
And you're kind of working through it, right?
But once you work through and you've started to like practice and you've gone through it and all that,
dude, these guys that go on stage at, you know, at music concerts, they're not even fucking thinking.
It's automatic.
Right.
Okay, so to your point, by going through the process, you, these are, these become innate things that you know, all right?
And one of my biggest frustrations, and you know this, got to talk to you about this.
Yeah.
Is that I forget what the fuck I know because I've been doing it so long.
It's just automatic.
It's like gravity to me.
And this is making sense.
What do you fucking mean you don't understand?
This shit is fucking easy.
Yeah.
But then I forget, oh, how did it get easy for me?
Oh, it got easy for me because 10 years I struggled my ass.
off with that same that one issue.
That's right.
So the tool belt, yes, theoretically in the beginning, you're going to be thinking,
okay, well, I thought that, you know, it was supposed to be this way.
And I thought it was supposed to be that way and this and that.
And it's kind of overwhelming, right?
But as you move through the process and we're talking about years and years and years of doing
these things, they become automatic.
And so like you said the tool bell is heavy, that no, you don't even feel it.
You just acclimate to it.
It's just who the fuck you are and what you know.
Bro, it's like seeing the apprentice show up to work the first day with the tool belts.
And he's, you see the older guy, his shit's fucking love.
He's just still moving.
Yeah, but he knows where the fuck his shit is.
That's right.
He don't even think about it.
Like, when he goes to get his fucking hammer, like he's fucking reaching out.
He knows exactly where it is.
It's all worn in perfect.
And like, it comes out, does a job, it goes back in.
And he doesn't even think about it.
That's right.
The apprentice is like, fuck, where the fuck I put my hair?
So, like, dude, you guys, like, you a lot.
And look, I'm always going to keep it real with you guys, okay?
I am a normal human being.
I am no different than any of you listening.
I do not possess special skills.
I don't have special anything.
These things have been earned through decades of me being on this entrepreneurship journey.
And that's why like when I get a when I get a question, I can answer it so quick because like, dude, I've already done that four million fucking times.
So to get to your question about it, like being heavy and trying to keep it sharp, that's not how it works.
you get to a point where it's just automatic. You just know it. But there's like an awkward phase
in between, right? For sure. Or you have to like, okay, I'm in this position. What should I do? How do I do? But once you go
through it, those lessons stick and you're able to operate from a place of almost like automatic
understanding in what needs to be done, you know, when it needs to be done. Yeah. So would this also be
safe to say then, you know, if you're a business operator or owner, right, and you're at a level and you feel like
there is nothing like okay well I'm not seeing a weakness yet what what should that person be doing
then uh you should be reevaluating your own ego because you are fucking very weak that's right okay
like and the biggest problem with a new business owner everything's good man what you're talking
the biggest problem with a new business owner is their thought that they are good because when you
think you're good you're closed off to becoming good when you think you know you are closed off to
be to actually knowing and these are very important things to understand this is where the concept
of humility has to come into play in terms of no matter how good you are no matter if you're like
no matter if you're one year in five years in 25 years in you have to remain humble about what
you know because the environment is always changing and if you think because your past wins
dictate you're now you're fucking delusional bro okay
It doesn't matter what I did last year.
It doesn't matter what I did five years ago.
It doesn't matter 10 years ago.
It doesn't matter.
What matters is what the fuck am I doing now?
Am I putting points on the border or am I not?
Okay.
And the reason in my career where there have been periods of stalling out always came
down to my own ego.
It came down to I thought that I had it licked and that closed off my ability to actually
do the things and learn the things that had actually got.
me to that point. And this is where most people fuck up their lives. Let me tell you something about
entrepreneurship. You don't know. You never know. You think you fucking know, but you don't. And if you
can just accept that as the reality, then you're going to be okay because you're always going to be
watching. You're always going to be paying attention. You're always going to be slightly paranoid
about what everything else is going on because it's a fluid environment that's ever changing.
So the minute that you start thinking you're some fucking champion entrepreneur is the minute that you get your fucking face smashed.
Good God.
Oh, this is good, man.
It's the truth.
Bro, fuck.
Like, bro, I, I know what I know.
But I also know that I live in a fluid environment and there's all kinds of new things I got to learn all the time.
We have a core value here at first form.
It's called Always be learning.
Always.
All right.
And the other one is be humble.
Okay.
And being humble really has a lot more to do with understanding.
understanding that you, people think humble is like, oh, I drive a fucking Honda and I live in a
small house and no, that's meekness.
Humility is about understanding that you are a product of your actions, not a product of who
you are.
It is understanding that that man over there could have accomplished or could accomplish the
exact same things that I accomplish if he's willing to do the work.
And if he's willing to do the work better, he could actually be better than me.
That's what humility really is.
It's understanding what you aren't.
Okay?
And I'm going to tell you right now, you aren't great.
You know how many entrepreneurs are better than me?
A fuck ton.
You know how I know?
Because I can see the fucking scoreboard.
See the scoreboard.
And the scoreboard is reality.
And it would be very easy for me to justify and say, well, yeah, but, you know, Elon
Musk got these government contracts and Bezos got pissed.
And he was in the right place at the right time.
Motherfucking, the scoreboard is a scoreboard.
They're better than me.
that's it
and as long as I keep that mentality
I continue to get better
still got time on the clock man
that's right
hell yeah man
I love it dude
oh I love it man
guys Andy our third and final question
question number three
uh Andy
uh success question this is this is good
sex?
success sorry
oh
okay
all right
Eddie
I grew up thinking
success
was about proving people wrong
Every goal I chased was fueled by somebody telling me I couldn't do it.
Now those people are gone.
And I've realized I don't know how to motivate myself without an enemy.
Did you ever learn how to chase excellence for yourself instead of chasing revenge?
Yeah, man.
I think that's a natural, listen, that's a natural progression.
Okay.
Dark side energy, which is what we're talking about here, is very, very, very,
very, very, very valuable, very valuable.
And to all the feel good motherfuckers out there that want to say cupcakes and sunshine and
unicorn bullshit, they're not winning, they're fake winning, okay?
Or they're, they're pandering to people who are never going to win, okay?
All of that dark energy that you have in the beginning is super valuable.
And it will get you to a certain point.
Like if you can learn to take everything that everyone ever fucking said to you about why you're
not going to be who it is that you want to be.
and you can remember those things and you can draw upon those things at the very moment when you feel like quitting
or the very moment when you don't feel like what needs to be done, you have a fucking superpower, okay?
It's very important.
However, you will get to a point where you have fucked up your competition so hard that you're going to look around and be like,
nobody's on my level, bro.
Okay?
And for people that operate that way, it is very difficult to operate when you've destroyed all your fucking enemies or you're so far ahead that you don't see anybody pushing you.
Okay.
So there's a transition period that has to happen.
And that transition period is more about fulfilling a purpose and a vision, not proving people wrong.
And that doesn't mean that you forget or that you get soft or that.
you, you know, become not that way. Like, you're still going to use that sometimes because when
you start to level up your business, there's still going to be people that and other people and
other businesses. You know, it goes from your friends and your families and people you know to like
peers in the industry and all this shit and they'll say these little things and then you're
drawn on a different way, right? But there's a transition period that naturally takes place
for people along the journey
where they realize that they get
to a point where this person is talking about
where they've kind of proven everybody wrong
and they're better than what everybody thought they were going to be
but they lack the motivation
and it's very important
that we realize how to make that transition
and that transition involves
understanding that you have bigger responsibilities
than just proving people wrong okay
for me I can tell you when this happened
2014 I caught pneumonia and I was at home for 17 days and I continued to see my bank account go up and go up and go up and go up and go up and at that time was making more money than I ever made my life right and I'm like fuck I'm winning and but I was miserable because I was sick I was staying at home and while I was there I was thinking about like all the guys that are up at the office and you know they're doing their jobs and they're kicking ass and it dawned on me two things dawned on me the first thing was I was like fuck this
is why successful people kill themselves because this this is fucking this sucks the second thing
that dawned on me was oh man I have a I have a duty to these other guys look I'm at home I'm sick
I'm getting paid these other guys have helped me get to this point how much have I helped them
get to the point that they want to go to okay so my my my focus transition from fuck you everybody
to oh, I've got to build this amazing thing
so that these other people can have their opportunities as well,
the people who bought into me from the beginning.
And that was the transition in my case.
And usually that's how it goes.
You know, other things happen.
Like, for example, in the beginning,
I was very motivated by material things, right?
Like, material things drove me to stick through
the time when I was making literally $0.
Once I was able to afford,
the material things and really just afford any material thing, my, my purpose switched and what I
valued switched. And I started valuing much more taking care of the people that worked for me
and making sure that they had opportunities and also enjoying this aspect of our business,
which is actually transforming people's lives. I get more value. And it's not a little bit more
value. It's it's like exponentially more value personally and satisfaction from seeing someone
come into our ecosystem and lose 100 pounds than I would ever get from like buying another car.
Like it's not comparable. But in the beginning, all I cared about was getting to that point.
So everything's valuable at certain points of time on the journey. Okay. And where you're at right now
is that you are in a transition phase.
You are in a phase where you need to understand
and flip your intent from yourself
to the people who have helped you get there,
create a much bigger vision,
a much larger mission,
and get refocused and dedicated to that
instead of just thinking,
oh, well, I've done what I said I was going to do?
What are you going to do?
Sit on the bench the rest of your life?
Right.
You're going to, and by the way,
the people who get to the point where he's at
and don't expand their vision
and don't have the switch, they end up failing.
Because the success, the material things,
the money, the clout, the credit,
that shit stops meaning anything.
So when you're not motivated by that anymore,
how effective can you be at actually operating something?
So your vision has to get bigger
and the intent needs to move from self to selfless.
And that's what's going to help make that transition.
Well, also, I mean, if you're not feeding it, how are you going to keep fucking, you're not going to just staying where you're at?
Well, obviously, dude, like, I love dark side energy, bro.
Like, I love it.
I operate on it.
The worst thing that someone could do is tell me something that they can't.
The worst thing someone could do is, like, step on my toes.
The worst thing someone could do is disrespect me or embarrass me or fuck with me in business.
I will fucking go to the ends of the earth to fuck you up.
I will go to the ends of the fucking earth.
It may not be today.
and it may not be tomorrow, but I will never forget.
And you will fucking get it.
Okay.
I love that shit.
I fucking love that shit.
However, I selectively use that when it's appropriate.
I do not hold the mentality anymore that, you know,
everybody thinks I'm a fucking loser and a this or that because, dude,
it's just like it's laughable, right?
Yeah.
Like you could say a lot of things about me,
but saying that I'm like a loser is fucking not one.
That's right.
Right.
That's right.
So, you know, at the end of the day, this is just a growth process that every entrepreneur goes through, especially ones that are motivated from dark side.
And I would argue that people that aren't motivated by dark energy never win.
Well, let me ask you that because like, I could hear people being like, well, I mean, Andy, I don't really have anybody that's like, you know, not believing in me or, you know, I don't really have anybody, you know, that I need to prove wrong.
You know what I'm saying?
And so you're not saying that it's like you can't do it without it.
But you're saying if you have that opportunity, fucking burn it.
Yeah.
Yeah, use it.
Yeah.
Listen, dude, this is a competitive game.
It's very difficult.
And if you don't use everything available to you, you're going to have a hard time.
And I'm wired in a way.
And most winners are wired this way.
I don't give a fuck what anybody says.
Like there was a dude who commented on the last CTI where I was talking about, I was talking about competition.
He was like, well, you know, that's not really the right way to look at competition.
and most people that are winners think about it like this.
Oh, really, motherfucker?
Well, let's compare trophies cases.
I'm pretty fucking sure I know how to win.
Okay, I've won every fucking thing I've ever fucking done in business
for fucking three decades.
Okay, I know what the fuck I'm talking about.
And if you get Tom Brady and you get, you know, the greatest athletes,
the Michael Jordans, these guys who are fucking the greatest of what they do.
And you get them behind the scenes, these are savage motherfuckers.
motherfuckers, bro.
These are motherfuckers that want to cut motherfuckers heads off when they're playing.
Now, they might be nice and they might smile because they understand how to market themselves,
but make no mistake.
That motherfucker will kill you to win, okay?
And that's the reality of competition.
And if you don't have that mentality, if you don't have that killer instinct,
you won't win because everybody else up the chain fucking has it.
Bro, Ryan Harwick.
Like, I mean, dude, you, listen, dude.
You meet Ryan, you meet Ryan.
and Ryan is the Southern gentleman
he's the nicest guy he barely curses
he's the fucking most
you get that motherfucker in a race car
or in a race he will fucking kill you
he will kill you to win a race
okay
they all have it just because you don't
see it doesn't mean it's not
there and it is there
and I know enough people
like certain people wear it on their sleeves
like I do yeah okay Dana White does
all right
there's a lot of people who don't wear it
their sleeves because they understand that it's not palatable from a marketing standpoint.
Right? You're going to get a much bigger Nike contract by being an All-American nice guy than you are by being a savage fucking psychopath.
Okay? And they're probably smarter than me. I'd probably be a lot further off if I didn't wear it on my sleeve.
But I can't help it dude. It's who I am. Yeah. And we like I said, we could be friends. We could be friends. We can collaborate. We can talk. We can share. I will
always help my competition because I understand I'm an actual competitor.
Okay, I don't gatekeep from my competitors.
You can ask any of them.
I fucking talk to tons of them.
I tell them what I think.
I tell them the truth.
I tell them things that I think they could do better.
Because I understand that if they get better, I'm going to get better because I'm a fucking competitor.
Okay?
Like bad entrepreneurs usually like don't want any competition.
Motherfucker, I want it.
I want all the fucking smoke.
Bring me everything you fucking got because, dude, that's going to make me push hard.
That's going to make me want to win better.
That's going to make me improve my skill set.
Okay, so competition is a great thing.
And yeah, when I'm in the fucking game, I want to fucking win real bad.
Now that does that mean I'm an asshole to everybody?
No.
But it certainly means that like, I've watched that fucking scoreboard, bro, and I want to be at the top of it.
You know what I'm saying?
That's right.
And it's a savage mentality that most people can't relate to because they either think one
of two things.
One of three things.
One, I'm only competing with myself.
Okay, those people always lose, all right?
Two, they hate all their competitors to the fucking maximum and they want to put
them out of business and they don't appreciate what the competitors bring to you.
Okay.
Every competitor that you compete with has a different path than you have, slightly different.
They've learned things that you don't know.
They do things that you're better at things than you aren't.
And you can learn a lot from those people, okay?
But those people who hate their competitors and want them all gone, they don't understand
that aspect.
And then you have the third level person.
And by the way, it's usually an evolution.
Usually people start off with the hate and I don't want any competition.
And then they become more confident in their ability to compete.
And then they start to understand the value of being friends with people who are competitive.
Okay.
I don't want any fucking losers in my network, bro.
I only want winners.
And you know what?
Every motherfucker that I'm friends with, I'm competing with too.
And they're competing with me.
And it's understood.
Mutually understood.
It's understood.
But that they also understand.
understand this, that if I get better, they get better.
And if they get better, I get better, which we all get better then.
Okay.
And so there's levels to progression when it comes to this, how you think about competition.
Okay.
Do you not think that Tom Brady is trying to learn from how Peyton Manning's fucking training?
Do you not think that Peyton Manning was trying to learn from how Tom Brady's training?
Do you not think that they both got better along the way?
Why do you think it is that outside the sports world, these dudes who literally fucking
hate each other, become best friends later.
Why is that? It's because there's
mutual respect and appreciation for what
each, what those people brought to the table. They knew
what it takes. They knew that that other person made them
better. You look at Larry Bird and Magic Johnson. Larry Bird
and Magic Johnson, you guys probably don't know because you weren't
around. They fucking hated each other.
Hated each other. When Larry Bird found out that Michael,
that Magic Johnson had AIDS, he fucking cried.
He cried.
Because he loved that man so much because of what he brought to him to make him better.
You understand?
Most people don't understand that.
They never get to that level.
Like, dude, I do not want to be surrounded by people who aren't that way.
I only want fucking A players around me.
I only want to be friends with people who are competitive.
And I will share with them.
I will help them, knowing that if they improve, I will also improve.
Guys, Andy, that was three.
Yeah, and don't forget, guys, we're starting up call-in shows so you could submit your video to be featured on the show.
