Prosecutor Griffin has a history of offering hush money to witnesses.

Prosecutors also said. Let's dig into this article. So long time CNN producer John Griffin attempted to pay off witnesses. He offered a woman $30,000 for a mother-daughter weekend with him and told authorities that he was ashamed when he was arrested for allegedly abusing a nine-year-old girl and enticing other minors. U.S. Attorney for the District of Vermont Nicholas Kores wrote in a motion for detention ahead of Griffin's arraignment on Wednesday. The prosecutor laid out the substantial evidence against Griffin in the motion, which asked the judge to hold Griffin in jail without bail while his case is pending. Griffin has tried to deceive, delete, and spend his way

out of being held accountable, the prosecutor wrote. He's a wealthy man who will be desperate to avoid facing justice. Griffin's attorney, David Kirby, declined to comment on the court filing. And the last thing that the prosecutor said was, quote, the evidence against Griffin also includes a video captured by a drone operated by Griffin as it returned to Griffin's Ludlow ski house shortly after 5 a.m. on July 20th, 2020, showing the completely naked nine year old girl standing immediately next to Griffin in his underwear. Two in custody. Video shared on social media appears to show an officer drawing their weapon. I saw this. After a skirmish for several people. Yeah. I just saw this as I was coming in to do the show. It's wild.

Well, the video's in a minute. I got the backstory. Okay. All right. So the scuffle broke out after police were called to gate H8 shortly after 6.30 p.m. over a disturbance surrounding a delayed charter flight. The Miami-Dade Police Department

told NBC Miami, officers found an unruly passenger who appeared to have taken the keys to an airport golf cart and was refusing to let a worker leave, police said. The officers can be seen backing away. So they get into a fight the guy

strata grabs the grabs the police officer they get into a little skirmish officer puts him in the chokehold and then like fucking 15 people help break it up okay guy gets a couple shots off on the uh on the cop um it's unclear what he there was no shooting no no like like punches yeah he gets a couple of punches off. Not shots, punches. But it's unclear what exactly folded in the moments that led up to the scuffle and the circumstances around the officer's withdrawal of a weapon to be an investigator. Miami-Dade police said. The force also added that two people were taken into custody following the incident. Information on their identities and any potential charges they may face have yet to be released.

pentagon updates rules to combat rising extremism why this is what this is why they're saying why it matters, okay? Domestic extremism in the military has become a growing concern in recent years, but blew wide open on January 6th when former and current service members, some in tactical gear, participated in U.S. Capitol insurrection. Almost one out of every five rioters who has been charged in their alleged participation in the riot have a connection to the U.S. military. That was an NPR analysis. The news organization adds for context that roughly 7% of U.S. adults are military veterans,

according to the U.S. Insta data. So this is what the Pentagon is saying, okay? Liking something with the intent to promote or endorse the extremist activity would be in violation of this policy. Pentagon spokesperson John Kirby told reporters at a press conference on Monday. The department does not plan to actively screen service members' social media accounts, but will respond as an incident comes to light, as Defense Department officials said during a background call with reporters. So what's violating the policy, Andy, you ask? Supporting, liking those support, including those likes or reshares of widespread unlawful discrimination based on race, color, national origin, religion, sex, including pregnancy, gender identity, or sexual orientation, is considered an extremist activity. Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin wrote in a memo accompanying the report and updated rules that Pentagon officials would also modify screening methods for new recruits, as well as those who are on their way out to retire from active duty so they could not become

targets of extremist groups or fall victim to extremist propaganda it's that time well first of all in in in theory it sounds pretty good right like hey we shouldn't have our our military uh siding with extremist groups i think that sounds reasonable both sides okay wait that sounds reasonable.
