REAL AF with Andy Frisella - Nobody Is Out To Get You, with Andy Frisella - MFCEO163

Episode Date: August 3, 2017

One idea that doesn't belong in an authentic entrepreneur's mind is the idea that somebody is out to get you. That someone is trying to put obstacles in your way and keep you down. That's false. The r...eality is, it's up to you.  You have to grow your skills. You have to create the opportunities. You need to put in the work. The only person you should be worried about is yourself.

Starting point is 00:00:00 What is up guys, you're listening to the MFCEO Project, I'm Andy, I'm your host and I am the motherfucking CEO. Guys, today is Thursday Thunder, but before I get into that, I want to remind you that we have a review contest going on, the prize is a 20 to 30 minute Skype with me where I'm going to give you the answers to your questions, give you advice, give you 20 to 30 minute Skype with me where I'm going to give you the answers to your questions, give you advice, give you guidance one-on-one with me. All you have to do is go to iTunes and write a review about the podcast. Guys, if you would also subscribe to the podcast, that would be a huge help. This is how we get ranked. This is how we grow the podcast.
Starting point is 00:00:43 You know, we don't ask for money. We don't ask you to buy anything from us. It's just simply we're trying to drive the podcast ranking up so that more people can find out about the movement that we've created here, which is obviously the no fluff, no BS, no magic unicorns, overnight success bullshit that everybody preaches these days. It's the reality. It's the tools that you need to be successful. It's helped cultivating the mindset that you need to be successful. And it's about reversing the last 30 years of everybody wins mentality. Okay. And I think that's a good thing. And if you're listening to this podcast, I know you think it's a good thing. And the way that we help people know about the podcast by be ranking us up high amongst the other
Starting point is 00:01:31 podcasts. Now, most of the other podcasts have guests. We do not have guests and the way they grow their podcasts by leveraging their audience against other people's audiences by having guests on. We don't do that very much because honestly, I don't feel like we need to do that. I feel like we offer the right information. I feel like we offer the right mindset. And the second point is there's not many people out there that have this mindset.
Starting point is 00:01:55 You know, a lot of people are out there trying to sell you something. They're trying to get you to believe in something that's not actually there, the overnight success, the fast success, the instant gratification, which are all poisonous to the mindset of real success. So guys, with that being said, if you go leave a review, I would appreciate it. We're going to have the contest winners here in a couple of weeks. And you know, that's on iTunes. So go do that. Now guys, Thursday Thunder,
Starting point is 00:02:20 I want to get into this real quick. And, and, um, it's something that I see affecting a lot of mentalities. All right. The entrepreneur mindset is more than if you just own a business, you know, if you are an employee in a business and you're wanting to create a value in yourself and you're wanting to move up in the ranks and you're wanting to build on your career and you want to get paid more and grow more and, and and grow more and do all the things that everybody wants to do, aka make more fucking money, you've got to have the entrepreneurial mindset. You've got to look at yourself as a business. And one thing that I want to address right now is this. Nobody is out to get you. I see this so often. I get so many questions and so many comments about this from young people, especially where they feel like people are out
Starting point is 00:03:18 to get you. Okay. There is no success boogeyman that comes around and comes to your house and tugs on your jacket and keeps you from going out the front door and going out and getting shit done. It doesn't exist. Okay. Will people say things that are going to discourage you? Yes. Will people that you know not understand your journey? Yes.
Starting point is 00:03:43 Will people who have been your friends your whole entire life question your motives for doing things and bettering yourself? Yes. But none of those things will keep you from going out and getting shit done. None of those things will keep you from going out and learning the skills you need to learn to become successful. None of those things will keep you from going out, taking accountability for your actions, becoming a person of value in your out there is out to get you. This is a common theme amongst people who consider themselves ambitious and consider themselves entrepreneurs in the mindset, but haven't been able to progress and make more money, okay? If you have a boss,
Starting point is 00:04:47 if you live in a company that or work in a company that, you know, you don't feel is paying you fairly or taking your position seriously or creating a situation where you can move up, whose fucking fault is that if you stay there? Okay. Now, most of you probably work in a company where there is plenty of opportunity and there is plenty of growth potential and there is plenty of upward mobility. But the reality of the situation is you are not doing what you need to do to create value in yourself to move forward. Instead, you say things like, oh, well, Bob, my manager, he doesn't want me to move up. Or Sally, our HR director, she has a problem with my attitude. Or Bill, the CEO, you know, he doesn't like me
Starting point is 00:05:38 because of this, this, and this. Bullshit. The reason you aren't moving up is because you aren't contributing enough to the fucking company to where they have to pay you more or else you will fucking leave. Because those are your two options. Either grow the skill set. Actually, three options. Grow the fucking skill set that you need. Don't grow the skill set that you need and stay exactly where you are or grow the skill set that you need. And if it's not recognized, move on somewhere else where it will be because value is always recognized. Value is always valuable. Value will always command more income. And so many of you motherfuckers look at society as if everybody
Starting point is 00:06:27 is out to get you, that you use that shit as an excuse to not do what you need to fucking do. And it's disgusting. It's frustrating. And honestly, it's pathetic. Everybody on the internet right now says they want to be successful. Everybody on the internet now claims to be a fucking boss. Everybody on the internet now claims that in five years, they're going to be a millionaire. Well, how about this? How about you fucking show me? Because I'm going to tell you right now, most of you motherfuckers are saying, oh, so-and-so's out to get me because he doesn't want me to succeed. That's irrelevant. Do you have haters? Probably not. But maybe you do. Because you got to be a pretty big
Starting point is 00:07:14 fucking deal to have people that really hate you. But let's say you do. What are haters? Haters are people who talk. They don't come to your house and bolt your front door shut and take away your fucking phone and take away your ability to learn and create and provide value. They talk. They can't keep you from doing what you need to do. The only person that can keep you from doing what you need to fucking do is you. And so many of you guys use these excuses like people are out to get you or your boss doesn't like you or people are taking advantage of you or you've got haters. So that you can sit back with your feet up and comfortably defer the blame for your lack of success onto other circumstances or people. And guys, there is nothing more fucking weak than that.
