I want to be a motherfucking hustler. You better ask somebody.
What is up guys? You're listening to the MFCEO Project. My name is Andy. I'm your host and I am
the motherfucking CEO. Today is Thursday Thunder and if you don't know what Thursday Thunder is, you better
fucking ask somebody.
Here's the deal, guys.
Today, I want to talk about fear.
I want to talk about what you're afraid of.
I want to talk about what keeps you awake at night.
Why are you awake at night?
Why aren't you taking action? Why aren't you doing the things you need
to do? Why aren't you making those phone calls, sending those emails, introducing yourself to
the people you know you need to meet? Why aren't you making that change in your job? Why aren't you doing the things you need to do to succeed? Why? Why? It's fear.
What are you afraid of, guys? Are you afraid that if you step out and be the person who you really
want to be, that people are going to laugh at you? Are you afraid if you step out and be the person
that you're really going to be, that you're going to fall on your face and it's going to be embarrassing? Are you afraid that if you step out and be the person that you really want to be, you're going to end up somewhere that is morally wrong or somewhere that your friends don't approve of or your parents don't approve of or they don't approve of? What is it? What are you
afraid of? Are you afraid of losing everything? What do you really have to lose? What do you
really have? You got an average life. You got an average salary. Okay. You got an average car.
You got an average house. what do you have to lose?
Everybody out there that doesn't become who it is they want to become doesn't become that because
they're scared. They're scared of all these things that I talked about. They're scared of failing.
They're scared of getting laughed at. They're scared of being embarrassed. And let me tell you something right now, that shit is all going to fucking
happen. And it's all going to happen. Whether you step out and take the action off of who you want
to be or not. Okay, guys, life is hard. Life is going to fucking punch you in the face. All right. Being successful and working hard is hard. Failing is hard. Being broke is hard. You get to choose which hard you want to participate in, but you don't get to opt out of life being hard. Okay, just because you choose not to chase your dreams doesn't mean that it's going to be easier to not chase them.
It means you're going to deal with a different level of heart, a different level of fear.
Okay, so what you need to realize is that your level of fear and what you are afraid of is really the only thing that you can follow.
Because if you don't do that, you're going
to have all these other problems. You're going to have the problems of not being able to pay your
bills. You're going to have the problems of not being able to feed your family or not being able
to pay for the education you want or not be able to live where you want or do the things you want.
And guys, like I said, and like I say often, life is short. We're going to die.
So why would you spend your life doing things that you don't want to do because you're afraid if you do them that you might fuck up?
Guys, you're going to fuck up either way.
And if you really take the time to think about what you're afraid of, you're going to realize that fear is not only irrelevant, it is a tremendous advantage.
We talked about putting your back against the wall a few weeks ago. Fear is the ultimate tool to leverage pressure on yourself to succeed. When you're afraid of failing, when you're afraid of
people laughing at you, when you're afraid of getting punched in the face or losing everything,
guess what happens? You do the fucking work to make that shit not happen. And if you're afraid
enough, you're going to work that much harder. Guys, there's nobody out there more afraid than
me. I'm more afraid than anybody listening to this. You know why? Because I don't want to go back to living in a fucking piss stained back of a store mattress, sleeping with my head, trying to not be on the
piss stain. I don't want to fucking go back to being broke. I don't want to go back to not making
any money the first three years in business. I don't want to go back to not making more
than $600 a month for the first 10 years I was in business. I don't want to go back to not making more than $600 a month for the first 10 years I
was in business. I don't want to go back to that shit. Every day I wake up, I'm fucking afraid.
But you know what? When I'm afraid, I run real fucking fast. And you guys know what I'm talking
about. Do you run faster when you're trying to beat yourself or do you run faster when someone's chasing you?
Fear is a tremendous tool and not only should it be embraced, you have to learn to use it.
You know, so many people don't do what they need to do because they're afraid when in reality,
being afraid is the best fucking thing you could ever have for yourself when it comes to turning that into energy, to have drive, to have ambition, to have progress in your life.
But you've got to take that first step.
You've got to make that first call.
You've got to send that first email.
You've got to shake that first hand.
You've got to make that first product.
You've got to make that first product. You've got to take that first action.
And if you don't ever take that first action, fear will paralyze you to a point of you becoming nothing, being nothing, standing for nothing, and basically being irrelevant your whole
entire life.
And I can't think of much worse than that, guys.
I don't want that for you.
And I know you don't want that for you.
That's why you're listening to this podcast, okay? Here's another thing you
need to realize about fear. A lot of you guys ask me, you email in, you say, Andy, how do you get
confidence? I don't have any confidence. You know how you get fucking confidence? By fucking
attacking your fear and overcoming your fear, but so many people avoid doing that, that they never develop confidence.
They never develop belief in themselves. They never develop the idea that they can do things
because they did things. You have to attack your fears. You have to do the things that you're
afraid of. Fear is a response of your brain trying to trigger you to do the things that you
need to do. It's not something that's there that is supposed to like, you know, it's not the boogeyman.
It's not a fucking ghost. It's not poltergeist. You know what I'm saying? It's not this other
nonsense. Real fear is a trigger to action. It's a sign that you need to do something
and you need to learn to listen to your fear.
You need to learn to embrace it,
leverage it, listen to it.
Okay?
Guys, fear is a great thing.
There's a big misconception out there
that people who are successful are not afraid.
But I disagree.
I think people who are successful are the most
afraid because they're going to run the hardest. They're going to run the fastest and they're
going to be the ones who are going to take every single action that they have to take to make sure
they get where they need to be. And at the very least that they don't go back to where they were.
Fear is a tremendous thing,
guys. It should be embraced and it should be loved. And you guys should be thankful if you
have it. I was told a long time ago by a very, very successful man, a billionaire,
don't ever lose your fear. I think that's some of the best advice I ever got. You know,
it came at a time where I just started making good money. I just started making a success in financial area of my life.
And I asked him, I said, I said, Jeff, I said, man, I said, dude, you know, I'm doing good. I'm
making good money, but man, I feel like, you know, my back's against the wall. I feel like I'm scared
every day. I'm always nervous. I'm always, I'm always uncomfortable. I'm never at ease. I can't relax. When does that go away?
And he looked at me and he goes, hopefully never. And at the time I was like, fuck,
you know, here's a guy who's a billionaire telling me that I'm going to have to live in this state
of like chaos. And I don't think I was like mature
enough at the time to really understand what that meant, but I do understand it perfectly now.
And what it means is exactly what I'm saying, guys. Fear is the ultimate motivator. Fear is
the ultimate driver. Fear is the ultimate competitive advantage. And if you embrace it and learn how to leverage it
and learn how to use it, it's the most powerful thing that you could possibly have in your
arsenal. It's a true fucking weapon. But people are so afraid to get within arm's reach of fear
that they avoid it at all costs. And guys, so much good comes from being afraid.
So much good. You don't ever get over the fear. If you want to be successful in life,
you should live in fear every fucking day. And that fear should drive you to take action. It should make you run fast. Guys, we all have fear, you know,
and there's a difference between like fear of dying because I'm sick or fear of, you know,
getting hit by a car crossing the street. Okay. We can't control that shit. All right. We could
try to prevent bad things from happening to us. And, and the best thing we can do control that shit. All right. We could try to prevent bad things from happening to us.
And, and the best thing we can do to get those things out of our mind is to be positive and to move forward and to be productive in our daily actions and win the day, stack the wins,
make a winning week, make a winning month, make a winning year and become a winner and keep on
that positive track. Okay. If you're on that positive track and you're focused on productive action,
it's hard to be afraid of things
that can like kill you, right?
But that's not really the fear
that we're talking about here.
We're talking about the fear that you're not good enough
or that you don't have what it takes
or that it isn't for you
or that you're gonna lose your money or that you're gonna for you or that you're going to lose your money or that
you're going to be broke or that people are going to laugh at you or that you're going to fucking
fail. And guys, like I said, all of that shit is going to happen. It's not that bad. The benefits
that you can gain from embracing that and taking that with you and continuing to use the things that fear gives
you to move forward is, is something that should be embraced, cherished, and you should thank your
lucky fucking stars at night that you wake up and go to bed every single day, scared shitless.
