I can stack them hundreds to the roof. I ain't stopping till they stack to the moon.
Without me, my family wouldn't have food. Anybody go against me, gotta lose.
What is up, guys? You're listening to the MFCEO Project. I'm Andy. I'm your host.
And I am the motherfucking CEO.
Guys, today is Thursday Thunder. I'm gonna get to that in just a second.
Just as a reminder, or if you're new, I do charge a fee for this show, but it isn't money. What I ask is that you tell a friend for
every single episode that you get value from. A lot of you guys tell people about the podcast,
but what about the seven episodes that you got tremendous value from? Did you tell seven people
or did you tell one person? I'm asking for one person
per episode. I think that's fair. All right. I'm giving you guys the real stuff. I'm giving you
guys the, uh, the real information of what it takes to succeed out there. Uh, and by the way,
I'm out there doing it. I don't make my living as a professional speaker or a motivator or a
fucking seminar giver. Uh, I'm an operator and most of you
guys are either operators or you want to be or you're just trying to figure out how you can have
more success and this show will cover that full spectrum. We will cover personal development. We
will cover actual business. We will cover success in relationships. We will cover everything that
you could possibly think of when it comes to
furthering and progressing your life. And if it's not on this particular show, I promise you it's
in the library of shows. You can go back, check it out, listen. And by the way, we do have a review
contest going on right now for the next month or so, which is, if you leave a review, five stars, we will pick a winner.
We are going to pick a few winners to come out, spend the day with me here in St. Louis.
We're going to have a good time.
We're going to go out and do some stuff.
We're going to talk about your business, talk about your plans, maybe record an episode,
go out to dinner and hang out and have a good time.
And it's going to be something that you will remember for the rest of your life.
We've done this a few other times, and it's been a really, really fun
and really rewarding experience.
So the way we do that is you're going to go to iTunes.
You're going to leave a five-star review.
You're going to write a review, not just hit the five-star.
You're going to say what the show meant to you.
And if you do that, you're going to take a screenshot.
You're going to email it to Vaughn At
What is Vaughn's email Tyler?
Vaughn at andyfursala.com
Okay you're going to screenshot that email there
Or that screenshot
Fuck
You guys know what I'm saying
You're going to email the fucking picture to Vaughn
Okay
And we're going to pick some winners
That's how we're going to do it. Um, with that being said now,
I've been noticing a few things amongst, um, and by the way, if you guys follow me, you know,
I don't just say shit for the sake of saying it. I say things when I think I have something of
value to say. That's why I don't put out a certain number of podcasts anymore and I don't do a post every day
anymore because I feel like if you want people to listen, you should speak when you have something
to say, not just force shit down people's throat. That's my personal opinion. So today I do have
something important to say and this is a message to anybody who's
frustrated, okay? And I'm going to talk about it in the sense of entrepreneurship, but this really
applies across the spectrum of your entire life, okay? And there's two realizations that you need
to come to if you're in a frustrated place right now, whether it be with your physical shape, whether
it be with your relationship, whether it be with your business and your income and your career and
all of those good things. All of these things can be affected by these two realizations. And
when I say them, you're going to be like, well, no shit. But the problem is, is most of you
motherfuckers aren't fucking
doing it because I can see it. All right. So here's the first realization. You have to understand
that the progression of your career is going to accelerate the longer that you're in that space.
It should accelerate. Okay. If you're doing the work and if you're doing it with the proper
intent and you're morally aligned the right way and you're accumulating skills and you're
accumulating relationships, your career is going to accelerate. All right. Now I'm going to talk
about this in terms of business and specifically my business. I had this talk with my team yesterday. All right.
You spend an exorbitant amount of time in the beginning of a business,
literally thinking of the business, making phone calls, building relationships, sending emails,
sending texts, creating product, creating distribution channels,
et cetera, et cetera, et cetera, et cetera. You got to build a staff. You got to build a culture.
You got to do all this shit. All of these things take a long time. And the reason they take a long
time is not because they're extremely difficult. It's just because the nature of these things take time and time
is something that young people really struggle with. Okay. The reason young people really
struggle with this is because they've been brought up in a society that has been instant everything.
All right. Text message, email, uh, pizza and 20 fucking minutes, Grubhub, fucking one day shipping.
Dude, we literally don't have to wait for anything anymore.
And the problem with that, although it's 99% great for us, is that it teaches us no patience.
Okay?
And we have a generation of young people right now who are trying to build companies and trying to become entrepreneurs
and trying to build success who haven't developed the skill of exercising patience.
All right.
So I want to explain this to you very simply and logically so you understand it because
I've talked to some people lately in my company, and I see this all
over when I'm traveling and I'm speaking to people, I have this same thing come up over and
over again. People feel stuck. They feel frustrated. And most of all, this is when it really
sets in. When they get to that first little goal, when they make that first six figure income or that first seven figure income, and they realize how long it took them, right? That it almost demoralizes them for what they're
going to do in the future. So what I mean by this is this. For me, it's taken me 20 fucking years To get where I am now Alright and that's
The first 10 years were slow
I didn't make any money
The first 10 years
My first 10 years in business
$58,000 total
Over the course of 10 fucking years
Alright
But then what happens
Well you guys have to remember
What happens along the way
During that time of what I would call Like the lag time But then what happens, what you guys have to remember, what happens along the way during
that time of what I would call like the lag time, you're developing skills, you're learning
lessons, you're creating relationships, you're building quality relationships with your customer,
you're brand strengthening, you're building culture, you're building a team, you're building
all these things that create the infrastructure and system of your company, all right?
And what happens is once you have all these things built and then you have a little bit
of resources because you've put the time in, now your ability to accelerate success, that
first 10 years, you might be able to do that in two months. All right. And so you
have to remember that as you go in the process and as you get deeper in the process, it's going
to accelerate more and more and more. And what it might've taken you 10 years to do might take you
two months to do after 10 years. So you cannot look at your future and say, man, it took me 10 years
to make 58,000. It's going to take me a hundred years to make 10 million. No, that's not true.
It might only take you four more years or five more years to make 10 million. It might take you
another year to make 10 million. The problem with this, guys, is that most people will quit before that time comes.
All right?
So at the bottom, and I want you to think about this like a pyramid, at the bottom,
you have tons and tons and tons of competition.
It's very difficult.
It's frustrating.
It seems like everybody's like you are.
And then you have people at the top who you want to be like.
Well, usually the people at the top, the reason they're at the top is really simple.
They were willing to endure longer than the people at the bottom.
And as you go up the pyramid, people fall off.
So every level you get to, people quit.
And then you get to the next level, more quit.
And then you get to the next level more quit and then you get to the next level and more quit and then you're you put enough time in where it's you and three other four other companies
and you're leading the market and that's how it happens guys now it doesn't just happen you've got
to you've got to come to work every day and you with with the proper intent of getting to that
point and you've got to back up those actions but because you put so much time in and you have all
these tools now and you have all these in and you have all these tools now
and you have all these relationships and you have all these resources, the amount of time it takes
to see a new idea into fruition is cut down drastically. You know, 99% where it used to take
you a year, it's taken you fucking two days. All right. And that's what happens. Most people will
quit before they get to that point or they'll never get to that point because right now it's popular in our culture to not actually want to be successful and wealthy, but the the bills and this and that is going to catch up and you're going to lose and you're going to be embarrassed. And which is what
you, the worst thing you want, because that's why you're front in the first place. So remember,
it gets easier and it gets faster, but you have to be willing to put in the time during that lag
time. And if you want to see what this looks like, imagine a hockey stick, okay? And a hockey stick has that long handle. And if you were laying a
long handle on the ground, that's the first X amount of years. Now, for me, it was 10 years.
But remember, I didn't have the technology. I didn't have social media. I didn't have
all these extra things that you guys have to use that can accelerate that process.
You guys are in a tremendously more advantageous situation than I was.
We had to actually go out and meet people.
We had to create, and that even takes more time.
But now you can do all this shit digitally, and it can cut that down.
So when you think about a hockey stick laying on the ground and then you see the little
blade part, the part that touches the puck and you lay that and that part's pointing up in the air,
that would represent what the entrepreneurship curve looks like for most people. And that's why
most people will think that you were a success overnight when really it took you 20 fucking
years. I can't tell you how many people tell me, oh, dude, congratulations on all the success. It happened so fast. I'm like, where the fuck have
you been, bro? I've been here every fucking day for the last 20 fucking years, putting in my
fucking days, day in and day out. You've quit five fucking jobs. You've moved five careers.
And dude, they don't understand. And so all they see is the hockey stick going straight in the air and that's when their ears perk up and they pay attention.
And then they think you made it overnight. All right. That's just their ignorance,
but that is how it works. You're going to put in a long time before it starts to go straight up in
the air. And you want that. The reason you want that is because if you don't have that and you
just have the, the blade go straight up in the air. Now you don't have the lessons. you don't have that and you just have the blade go straight up in the air,
now you don't have the lessons. You don't have the resources. You don't have the ability to scale.
Your company can die just as quickly from you hitting a grand slam at your first at bat
as it can from you quitting fucking six months in. You just don't realize it. All of you guys
want to do it today. And if you
do it today, you're going to fucking lose. That's just the way it is because you don't have the
experience to handle the success. And you don't, y'all think you do. Like if I said, Hey, I'll
give you a business. And in six months, it'll be a $10 million business. And in seven and in a year,
it's going to be a $30 million business. I promise you, 99% of you will be broke before it hits a
year. Your company will run into the dirt because you haven't paid those dues to learn those lessons.
You don't know how to manage employees. You don't know how to build a culture. You don't know how
to handle the infrastructure. You don't know how to do the marketing. You just had a great product
that people loved. And sometimes that's good enough, but that's the reality of entrepreneurship.
We're talking about 0.00001%. And then that's what the media picks up on and shows you because
it's sexy.
But that's not most success.
Most success is being able to endure longer than everybody else, accumulating the skills,
accumulating the relationships, accumulating the resources so that you can accelerate when you get to a certain point at really an unprecedented
speed. And then all of a sudden your life changes because now you have the ability to not only make
it, but you have the lessons to keep it too. So I want you to remember that it's going to get
faster just because it took you five years to make a hundred thousand dollars. Doesn't mean
it's going to take you five more years to make 200 grand.
All right. That's only if you're still doing the same shit. If you didn't learn anything, that might be true. But if you accelerate, you learn the skills, you can, it's just not how it
works. So remember that you're frustrated, you're angry. You feel like you're spinning your wheels,
dude. If you're showing up every day, you're putting in the intent, you're doing what needs
to be done. You're going to fucking win. It's going to happen. It's coming. You just haven't seen it yet. And all your friends,
all your colleagues, all your competition is going to quit before that happens. I can promise you
that. All right. But here, and this is the second realization that you need to make, because I see
this and this goes right with the first one. Young people, young entrepreneurs want
it now. All right. So what they do is they get these big fucking eyes, man. You ever gone to
like a place to eat and you were starving and your eyes were bigger than your stomach, man.
And you order all kinds of food and you got it and you ate for like four minutes and then you're
like, holy shit, why did I order all this food?
I don't even know what to do.
I can't eat all this.
And you come to that realization real quick.
The same thing happens in business, especially to younger entrepreneurs.
What they do is they get, instead of learning how to finish, what they do is they're constantly looking for the next big thing.
And you have to balance learning how to finish with
learning how to evolve. All right. What I mean by that is this. People who succeed are strong
finishers, meaning they take a project, they prioritize it, and they see it through from A
to Z and they get it into play. People who don't
succeed, they will start on a project, they will get halfway through, they will look around, and
they will say, man, this is hard, and they'll look for the next best thing. Then they jump from a
halfway through project into the next best thing at stage one, day one, and they start the process over again. Sound familiar? I bet you're
doing this in certain parts of your life and it's causing you a lot of frustration. You have to
understand that anything that's going to produce a result that you're going to want is going to be
fucking hard. You're going to have to learn how to stick it through. You're going to have to learn how to prioritize
and be committed full through from A to Z.
What person in the history of this earth
was ever rewarded for doing half the job?
What person ever got fucking celebrated
for running half a marathon, okay,
when they were supposed to run a full, all right?
People don't talk about those
people. People only reward, the world only rewards and only celebrates people who know how to finish.
And if you just take that from this podcast, that one tip will make you millions of fucking dollars
because I'm going to tell you right now, the biggest struggle I have as a leader and with my
team is getting them to understand this concept. We don't switch gears before the job is done.
Now, are there occasions where that you might adapt halfway through? Yes,
but you stay prioritized on the task at hand. Weak people, people who are inexperienced,
people who don't know will spend their entire
careers jumping from career to career to career to career to career. And then they look around
and they're like, fuck dude, I don't have it. I guess I don't have it. Whatever it is, I don't
have it because I can't seem to get anywhere. Here I am 40 years old and I'm still working for
$60,000. And the last four jobs I had
were all those kind of jobs too, okay?
Or I started seven companies, and none of them have made money.
The reason is is because you're not learning how to finish.
You got to finish, and that should be common sense.
But if you can't finish, you can't win, period.
It's that easy.
So if you're not winning in life, whatever it is, it's because
you're not fucking finishing. I guarantee it. It's too easy to quit. It's too easy to change gears.
You might say to yourself, oh, I didn't quit. I just changed gears. But no, you fucking quit.
It's just another way of fucking quitting. You've got to learn how to finish. You've got to learn how to see things
through. You've got to learn how to make sure that what you start gets finished. And maybe it won't
work. Maybe that idea won't work. But the habit of getting into the finishing the ideas is so much
more valuable than to jump from thing to thing to thing because it's going to make you that much
more effective. So I would consider this. Let's say, because right now I already know the objection. The objection
is, well, what if I realize halfway through the idea sucks? Well, that's going to happen. Still
fucking finish. And here's why. Because one, it's going to build the habit of you finishing what
you start, which is extremely important in life. Two, and this is the better part of it, you're going to learn a lot of
shit even in the things that don't produce the result that you're after. You've never done
something in your life ever unless you're completely unaware that you didn't learn something
new. Those lessons to learn while you're finishing something are valuable.
They're valuable to your future.
And guess what happens?
The more you finish things and they don't work, the better you get at finishing things
and making them work because you learn what makes them don't work.
All right?
Or you learn what makes them not work.
I didn't deliver that properly.
Sorry.
Fucking fire me.
I don't know.
But here's the deal.
You got to learn how to fucking finish.
All right?
So if you're frustrated, if you're angry, if you're having a hard time in business and
life, I'm going to tell you guys, first of all, it's going to get easier if you keep
showing up every day.
If you show up every day with the proper intent, ready to kick ass, ready to give it your best
and do what the fuck you need to do it is going to accelerate you're
going to get better because you're going to learn lessons you're going to have resources you're
going to build relationships they're all going to come together in a magic formula that creates a
faster level of success all right you got to show up and you got to have the intent but if you do
that for long enough it's going to accelerate and point two if you don't finish you don't got a shot
you can't win the race if you don't finish the race you can't get a medal if you don't finish, you don't got a shot. You can't win the race.
If you don't finish the race, you can't get a medal. If you don't fucking finish. Well,
you might be able to do that in America now, but I'm talking about a real fucking metal.
So that's it guys. That's what I got for you today. All right. Learn how to be patient
and learn how to fucking finish. If you do those two things, you're going to greatly, greatly, greatly improve
your overall quality of life
and your ability to make money,
your ability to impact,
and your ability to have meaningful
and positive relationships in your life.
It's that simple. you
