What is up guys, you're listening to the MFCEO Project, I'm Andy, I'm your host, and I am
the motherfucking CEO.
Guys, today is Thursday Thunder.
As a reminder, Tuesdays, more practical, Thursdays, kick in the balls. That's what we do here.
Today, I've got something important I want to talk to you about. But before I get to that,
I want to remind you that we have a review contest going on. And we're going to select
five winners that leave a review for us on iTunes to have a 20 minute, 30 minute Skype with me.
I'll go through any Q&A you want to go through,
help you with everything that I can.
And we're going to do that here for the next couple of weeks.
Guys, if you haven't yet, please go leave a review on iTunes.
That's how we get ranked.
That's how we grow our podcast.
We don't advertise it.
We don't sell anything.
So if you could leave us a review, it'd be much appreciated.
Also, guys, if you could bring us one friend, it'd be much appreciated. Also guys, if you could
bring us one friend, okay. I don't ask you to go out and repost all the content. I don't ask you
to go out and bag and do all this, uh, you know, shit that some of these other guys do. I just ask
you to tell one friend about the podcast. All right. Um, if it's something you resonate with,
if it's something that brings you value, that's all we ask. Please bring us a friend.
All right, guys, look, here's the deal. I want to talk to you today about something that stalls out people's progress over and over and over again. It's a common mistake. It's a common fumble that people make with their lives. And every single time I see someone stalling out,
okay, they start out, they've got some good practices, they've developed some good habits,
they've created some value, they've created some momentum, they might be making some money, okay?
They're making a little bit of money, they're excited, They're doing good. But all of a sudden, everything stops. Okay. And all of a sudden what they were doing before isn't working anymore.
They don't know what's going on. They don't know how to fix it. And they don't know what to do
from that point forward. And guys, to that, I want to say something to you that you need to always remember, okay? What got you here will not get
you there, all right? What got you here will not get you there, all right? That doesn't matter if
it's a fucking diet, if it's your finances, if it's a relationship, everything is constantly
evolving, all right? And what has gotten you to this point
in your life, whether you're miserable, whether you're wildly successful, is not going to get
you to that next level, okay? You've got to realize that you have to evolve your skill set.
You have to have positive inputs. You have to do your homework. You have to do things that are
going to create and fertilize and help cultivate new skills, new ideas, new strategies. And this
is a good problem to face because what it does is it creates a situation where you have to learn what true entrepreneurship is about.
Entrepreneurship and thinking like an entrepreneur is about change.
It's about what's next.
It's about seeing a thousand yards past the guy who you're competing with who is looking
at two yards in front of him.
You've got to be able to anticipate.
You've got to be able to look at You've got to be able to look at
the future and anticipate what's going to happen. All right. And a lot of you guys, because you're
of robotic nature and there is a lot of good information out there, you're going out, you're
following someone's plan, which is a good idea. Why would you not follow someone's plan who's
already successful? Just make sure you do the homework that they are actually successful. You're following their diet
program. You're following their financial program. You're following their entrepreneurial,
their career path. You're emulating them, whatever you want to call it. They're role modeling them.
And you get to a point where things are not working anymore. Now what? Now what do you do? Well, because you've
handicapped yourself by not paying attention on your own and just copying someone else,
you don't know what the fuck to do. And this is a common problem amongst people's progress.
This is what stalls them out. And when I tell you what got you here will not get you there,
you have to realize that in life, in business,
in anything that's going to be worthwhile, you are going to have to develop the skill set
that you need for the next position or the next phase. Now you won't get to the next phase first
and then develop that skill set. You've got to be constantly evolving. You've got
to be constantly improving and nobody is going to come to you and pay you to do that. That's going
to be on you. You know, just like we had homework when we were kids, you have fucking homework now.
Your homework is not to go sit on the fucking couch and watch television. Your homework is to
go read about successful techniques or learn successful
techniques or find a mentor that could teach you these new tools that are going to help you get to
that next position. All right. And a lot of you guys think that if you keep doing the same thing
over and over and over again, even though it stopped working, that it will restart working
again. That's not the case. Okay. Each set of skills
is going to get you to a certain point. Each level of hustle, of will, of action, of work
is going to get you to a certain level. And then you're going to require more or different,
or it's going to require more effort or different technique or more skills or different skills.
And you're going to have to be able to see that and understand that.
When you continue to beat this dead horse, which is essentially what you're doing,
which is your skills that you've already had and established for a long point in time,
you can't expect for your life to continue to get better.
You can't expect for your career to continue to get better.
You can't expect for your relationship or your physical health to continue to get better. It's going to, it's going to take more. It's going to take adjustment. It's going
to take adaptation. It's going to take you evolving and you guys can't be scared to change.
Every single person I talked to that is in this situation, they're scared to change because
what they did before worked so well. And I guess that's
a natural feeling, right? You did some things that worked really well and you're scared to evolve
from that point forward because it took you so long to find the things that worked so well in
the first place that you're scared to move away from it. But guys, what I'm here to tell you is
you will only get to certain levels with those
skills and those work ethics and those techniques and those beliefs.
You're going to have to expand.
You're going to have to think differently.
You're going to have to do different things.
You're going to have to put in more work.
You're going to have to put in different kinds of work.
You're going to have to read more.
You're going to have to educate yourself more.
You're going to have to do things that are going to help you create a new you. And guys, if we look at history and we look at people
who, you know, in the music industry, for example, people who have been able to be around for 30,
40, 50 years in the music industry, you know, bands like Aerosmith, artists like Madonna,
those people have been able to recreate themselves
over and over and over again. If they keep doing the same thing, if they keep singing the same
songs, if they keep looking the same way, guess what? Nobody is going to pay attention. It's the
same thing in your life. If you keep doing the same thing that you're doing or the same thing
that got you to where you
are right now, you're going to stall out. You're going to become irrelevant and things are going
to fucking quit working for you. And then what? Then what are you going to do? And this is
especially important if you run a company and it's especially important if you're the guy who sweeps
the warehouse floor at the company because involvement and growth and change is a huge part of getting to the next level.
All right. And you can't expect to be, you know, go from the the the one million dollar company to the ten million dollar company doing the same shit that got you to the 1 million point. You're going to have to adjust those techniques to handle
scaling to where all of your employees and all of your help and everybody else out there can
start to implement these ideas as opposed to the actual techniques that you developed that
started the growth in the first place. It's a culture thing. Okay. And if you're doing it for
yourself, if you're a
guy in a warehouse sweeping floors right now, or you're the janitor, or you have big aspirations,
you're starting on the ground floor, you have to learn the skills that you're going to need for the
job you want today. That means you're going to have to take an interest in that job on your own
today. It means you're going to have to learn how to do the things
that you would be doing that are going to pay you more and evolve you more and progress you more
today. You don't wait until that opportunity comes because guess what guys, that opportunity
is never fucking coming for you. Opportunities don't just come. Opportunities are created
by people who know how to take action, who know how to evolve,
who know how to grow into those positions. And they do that on their own time. They do that
on their own ambition. They do that because they want to fucking win. They don't wait for somebody
to come and say, Hey, here's this great opportunity for you. How the fuck am I supposed to know as a
CEO that you can handle a great opportunity if you don't show fuck am I supposed to know as a CEO that you can handle
a great opportunity if you don't show me that you've already done the homework to learn the
skills? It doesn't work like that, guys. It doesn't work like that. You've got to prove it on your own.
You've got to take initiative. You've got to take action. You've got to do the things you need to do
now to show that you're worthy of that opportunity. And number one starts with doing whatever it is that you do now perfectly. And it ends with showing that you can do all these other responsibilities as well
as take care of your own business. Guys, being successful is hard. Making a lot of money is
fucking hard. I don't give a fuck how many times you see on the internet that it's easy or how
many times you see you could do it in 12 months Or how many times you could see you could do it from a fucking beach
With your feet up
Drinking a fucking Corona
Alright
That's not how it works in the real world
And you could spend the next 10 years
Trying to do it like that
And make it the easy way
Or you could actually listen to what I'm telling you now
And you could work your way through
And in 10 years you're going to be a hell of a lot fucking further than you are right now.
