Episode Date: February 9, 2016

There is a conflict going on in America, a great war for the heart of the nation. But it's not between the Democrats and Republicans, the far right and the far left, or traditionalists vs. progressive...s.  It's between those who promote the culture of winning and those who want the country to slide into excuse-making and laziness.  Who will win this battle?  It's up to you to decide.

Starting point is 00:00:00 Hey guys, what's up? You're listening to the MFCEO Project. I'm Andy and I am the motherfucking CEO. Hey, I'm going to throw you for a loop and it's going to blow your mind. But today we're going to do Tuesday Thunder. I know you're used to Thursday Thunder. We're going to do Tuesday Thunder because I have something that I think is important to talk about right now. We have an agenda for this long podcast. It's going to be an hour. But the reality is, is I've got something on my mind and I want to talk to you guys about it. Just off script real quick. You know, we have politics going full swing here in America. You know, everywhere we look, it's Republican, Democrat, Hillary, Trump, whoever, you know,
Starting point is 00:01:01 it's this, that, and the other. And I've been thinking a lot about our country. You know, I just got back from speaking, um, at the revolution tour, Sean Whalen out at park city, uh, Utah at the Sundance film festival. It was awesome turnout. There was a lot of people who identify themselves with Republicans. There was a lot of people who identify themselves with Democrats. And at the end of the night, guess what? We all walked out of there fucking Americans. And that's, what's got me thinking about all of this, you know, the end of the night, guess what? We all walked out of there fucking Americans. And that's what's got me thinking about all this. You know, the division of this country. Why do we have it? You know, what has America been in the past? What is America now? What will America be in the future? And I think, you know, contrary to what some of the comments I make and some of the bitching I do, because I do bitch a lot about, you know, people ruining this country, so to speak, I do still believe that America is a
Starting point is 00:01:53 tremendous great country. At the heart of our country, there's a core group of people who still hold the values that made America great. They work hard. They're good people. They do the right thing. They have character. They make the most of the freedom we have, and they are good fucking people who do great things and inspire millions upon millions. But here's the reality of the situation we're in now. There's more and more people in this country who are total zeros.
Starting point is 00:02:23 They're lazy. They make excuses. They get offended when people speak the truth. They do nothing, and they want to feel good about themselves. They want everything to be free. And quite honestly, they're not good people. The only thing they are great at is fucking everything up for the rest of us. Those are the two groups in America.
Starting point is 00:02:43 So that's the conflict I see, okay? That's the war I see. It's not Democrat-Republican. It's not right-left. It's not black-white. It's not traditional progressive. It's not Donald versus Hillary, okay? The real competition, the most important battle is between our country's winners and our country's losers. Will the majority of America be fucking great? Will they be committed to competition, hard work, achievement, success? Or will the culture of America slide into underachievement, excuse making, bitching, whining, and laziness, which seems to be the new trend now. Just scroll your fucking Facebook feed. I think a lot about this.
Starting point is 00:03:28 And here's the main thing. Will the winners lose and the losers win? And that's a scary thought because, you know, I don't have any kids right now. I'm going to have kids, okay? You probably have kids. Maybe you don't. But eventually, you're going to have to think about the world that they're brought up in. And that question scares me.
Starting point is 00:03:48 Will the winners lose and the losers win? And the answer is this. It depends on you. You can't control what somebody else does, but you can take personal responsibility for your choices, for your actions, for your work ethic, for your conduct, for your character, for your commitment to excellence, and for your drive to be fucking great. Here's the reality, guys. Like I said, you can't control what somebody else does, but you can influence them. And if you want to commit yourself to greatness, you will influence at least one other person who will influence another and another and another.
Starting point is 00:04:30 And by definition, that is how a movement is created. That is how a culture is created. That is how America is going to be great again, by you taking personal responsibility for who you are and what you do and make much more out of your life than you are right now. That is how we're going to fix what's going on here in America. Are you worried about America? Yeah, I am too.
Starting point is 00:04:56 But let's worry about ourselves first because this is a one person at a time problem and it's a one person at a time solution. The greatness of our country won't be decided by who we elect as president. Do you think that really fucking matters? No, it won't be determined by the Congress or the Supreme Court. Yes, our leaders are important. I think that's very important. It's a decision that we should take into tremendous thought and make very careful decisions. But at the end, we're not bound to them.
Starting point is 00:05:28 Our actions are not bound to them. The way we live our lives are not bound to them. We could be better than them. And the greatness of our country is decided by us. We get to decide if the winners lose and the losers win. And if each of us decides to be great, the winners in America will fucking win, period.
