I think we've got it.
Hello, everyone.
Hello, hello, hello.
Happy Wednesday.
Monday.
Blah, blah, blah, blah.
Happy Monday, guys.
Happy Monday, everyone.
I don't know where you got the Wednesday from.
It's like the Wednesday that we're recording this.
I know.
Happy Monday, guys.
I hope you're all having a lovely day.
My brain's clearly not with it
today no we can get it back on the road so today's episode is gonna be actually quite interesting one
i'm really excited about this one yeah really excited all stemmed from a dm i had the other
day yeah and then it sparked you know an idea that we could talk about in the podcast and i've
been getting a few comments as well i constantly get comments even from my family about it so uh
yeah i think it's definitely something to touch on because i think a lot of people coming out but before we get into this podcast we're
gonna start our podcast with the agony aunt thing but this one's not really an agony on it's more
like a fun question it's more of a fun question it's a fuck marry kill so emma fuck marry kill
hip thrust squats and rdls oh this is hard i would have to marry hip thrusts yeah yeah yeah
long-term commitment to the hip
thrust because they are the one for the booty yeah we know that that is the the queen yeah
so i would marry hip thrusts i would kill squats just because interesting you awful woman that is
so rude no just because i who do you think i don't like doing bar bar squats wow i know that is interesting
yeah all squat variations other than bar bar squats i love wow i just i don't enjoy them okay
well i would be the opposite so then i would have to fuck the rdls actually no i would be the same
see a coffee i would be the same i don't know what i was thinking that i would fuck rdls
just give them a little they can be a little fling i love rdls yeah but i would put i actually really as
more of like a long-term commitment yeah yeah yeah i agree it's a good question i think yeah
i like this on that note what is your absolute favorite um okay what what variation i like a
good heavy sumo hip thrust but i do love uh german volume training with hip thrusts do you
yeah i really love that really gets the pump can we actually just talk about german volume training
yeah but i don't think a lot of people know what it is okay do you want it so basically german
volume training is when you do like 10 sets of 10 so it's like getting all that volume in but
obviously you don't do it to like the heaviest weight that you can do you do like more like
average weight why are you smiling i have a really funny story about german volume training oh my
god why so back when i first started
getting into the gym i read about it and i thought oh my god wow this is like the thing you need to
like get in the best shape i feel like brett contraris really introduced that to me anyway
i can't remember where i read about it but i used to go into the gym and apply 10 by 10 to every
single exercise i do so i would be doing i would do 10 sets of 10 hip thrust
then i'd move on to like 10 sets of 10 rdls then i do like 10 sets of 10 squats like wait
how long did that take you i used to spend over two hours okay guys don't do that that's not how
you do it that's not how you do it if you were going to try doing a workout where you did
german volume training you should literally pick one one good exercise to do that on and then like
three other like random yeah because otherwise you will not be able to no no no no no no no
if you ever train you know like there's not going to be any actual gain from growth from it no
that's actually such a good point to bring up lots of people think the more exercises you do and the more volume you get into a session and the more different things you can try out in
the gym, the better you're going to build muscle and make results. But actually, there's an upper
limit of volume that your body can actually optimally recover and adapt from. So if you're
overdoing that, you're actually just diminishing your results. You're wasting your time. And as
well, if you're spending that long in the gym and doing so much volume you're not going to be able to apply the
right amount of effort or intensity to those lifts to actually elicit any response you're better off
tapering volume back going in hitting it hard hitting it heavy putting in effort to the sets
you do do more so take note of that if you don't take anything away anyway that was a little bit of a um tangent as always we're not a good tangent anyway into today's episode
thirsty my mouth's so dry you have a little sip over there um
get on asmr do you know what one thing we have noticed is like in this podcast studio
you can literally hear everything talking which is that door oh my god yeah that door is
open we should probably close that door by the way katie's with us today say hi katie
yeah we've got three people in the studio today a little bit cramped a little bit hot
but yeah sorry if i may be grabbing some water more often than usual it is really hot in here
but yeah i was saying you can literally hear everything like it picks up every single noise
that's actually something that people really like gain a lot of satisfaction from
the i feel like when you do really sorry that sounds a bit creepy
oh my god oh my god what is wrong with us right so yeah back to the topic of today's episode i
basically had a dm the other day saying why the hell do you
wear makeup to the gym the fact that you even had to put hell in there yeah why the hell do you wear
it was a little aggressive like i get why people ask but we both have our reasons don't we and it's
sad for me anyway it's sad i make a gym because I feel I just feel a lot more confident with makeup
on I really do and my whole life I kid you not my whole life I have never ever ever felt confident
when I don't have makeup on because I've always had problems with my skin like my siblings would
make really nasty comments about my skin so yeah really ingrained in me that I don't look nice
without makeup on so I just always wear makeup on like since day one but now my skin's getting better
i still find myself wearing makeup and i don't know if that's just out of habit like i think
i perform better when i feel confident in myself it's like when i've got yeah you know when i've
got a nice cute gym wear fit on i just perform better yeah so why not utilize it this is exactly
the reason why i wear makeup in the gym i think generally speaking girls wear makeup to boost
their confidence a little bit to make them feel a little bit better yeah so if you're going into the gym
feeling a little bit more confident then that is actually gonna in turn make you a little bit more
energetic yeah make yourself a little bit more positive you're gonna be able to train maybe a
little bit harder be you know just more efficient with it say like you're having a bad body image
day and you're going into the gym you feel shit
in itself but you feel even worse now without makeup on you're just gonna think oh don't want
to be here get me out here like you're just gonna find everything negative about it so if putting on
a little bit of concealer mascara or even if you want to go all out and put on a juicy red lip
if that makes you feel a little bit less anxious and if it makes you feel more confident to go
smash that workout there is nothing wrong with you should be able to wear and look however you
do anything you want and go into that gym if you want to wear the most ridiculous bright colors
and you know there's one guy who goes to my gym he wears a bloody suit oh to do his workout and
i think fair play to me.
I just think, like for me anyway, doing my makeup in the morning is like part of my morning routine.
It's part of your routine.
And I love makeup.
Makeup is one of my passions.
I used to be a makeup artist and I just actually find it really therapeutic and enjoyable to do makeup.
It's kind of like an art.
Yeah, it is definitely an art.
When you have a good outfit on, it boosts your confidence, it boosts your mood. boosts your mood when i've got good face makeup and i'm like yeah yeah it just makes
you feel good yeah so i i don't think there's anything wrong with wearing makeup in the gym
i also had one person call me a silly gym fairy oh my god what is it with these insults well at
least it's a fairy at least you're not like a cow i've moved on from the animals
now i'm a fairy tinkerbell do you know what i really want to go to a fancy dress party as
tinkerbell but no one has invited me to a fancy dress party make your own fancy dress party
invite yourself gym fairy tinkerbell i'll come but no my point is if you feel more confident
going into the gym
with full face makeup on then you do that you go for it and it doesn't matter what people know
i don't always go into the gym with a full face yeah sometimes i'll just put a little bit of
concealer on but i get up i put my makeup on that's how i start my day so i'm gonna go to
the gym and and also can i just say that person who comment who said that to you they have
absolutely no idea
what you're going through you could be going through some absolute shit in your life and the
one thing that makes you feel a little bit better is putting on makeup yeah they are still judging
you for that and that is like actually so insensitive and i hate that those people feel
okay to do that yeah i think it's really really stupid it makes me angry i think there are a few
fit fit guys in the gym so i I want to look a bit, you know, nicer for them.
Pick up your first boyfriend in the gym, you know.
And yeah, like if I go in looking like the worst I look and whatever,
I just look like a sweaty mess and they're so interested in me,
then absolutely great.
Great.
But it does increase the likelihood.
Yeah, you want to entice those boys in.
You want to entice them in.
Flutter those eyelashes.
Pass my lips i also get quite a lot of questions about like no i'm just going to address this here lots of people say to me why do you try to move your hair down i actually only do that when i
forget a hairband quite frequently i just think why do people fucking care yeah no but i think
people ask me a lot about my hair in the gym because it's quite long it's in the way they ask me like how oh my god have i told you about the time my hair got caught
i mean i should have learned from this and i should now always carry a hairband with me
so i was doing cable crunches and my hair got caught in the cable and i didn't realize and
i finished my set went up and my hair like
went up and some guy had to come over like untangle my hair so embarrassing lots of people ask me how
often do you wash your hair when you go to the gym and like how do you tan and all of this stuff
like how do you still like deal with like your beauty stuff whilst also being sweaty fitness
freak fitness freak let's start with hair okay yeah i always
put my hair in a plait when i do bring a hair back i like that because that stops your hair
getting all like sweaty and stuff dry shampoo oh my god yeah like a saver also adds a bit of volume
yeah bumble and bumble have a really good dry shampoo is that like the bum bum cream as well
um no that's different but that smells bloody amazing bumble and bumble have a really good dry shampoo is that like the bum bum cream as well um no that's different but that smells bloody amazing bumble and bumble have a really good dry shampoo like a post-gym one
and so it like makes your hair smell nice cool so that's really good i don't get sweaty no i just
don't sweat a lot but i literally just tie it up and then if i'm going anywhere after i just take
it down i don't even guys i'm really bad i don't brush my hair it's really weird like i don't brush
it what does it look like it's unbrushed i just i feel like it's so soft that it never needs a brush i mean i brush
it like after this shower i brush my hair about oh yeah because you're so long if i left the house
and realized i didn't have my hair brush i'd have to turn around and go back because i think when i
brush my hair like it goes frizzy okay so like what, like, what hair products do you use? So, I use this OGX Tame Cream.
Okay.
It's like a tamer cream, so it stops the frizz.
And then I use some sort of curling spray, like a salt spray thing.
And then just dry it, and then, obviously, heat protect it, and then a bit of oil, like a bit of a hair oil.
Do you use on your hair?
Yeah.
Do you straighten it?
So, I blow dry it, and then usually I'll curl it, and then leave that.
Like, the curls will just stay until I next wash it.
And how often do you wash your hair?
Every three days.
How often do you wash your hair?
I wash my hair every three days.
Unless there's like an event.
It's really difficult, isn't it?
Like having to plan out your hair washing days.
Oh my god, it's a skill.
Around like workouts and events and stuff.
Yeah, and events and photo shoots and whatever, yeah.
So, I mean, I tend to wash my hair like once every three days.
I put my hair on the second day. So you prefer your hair the day after you've washed it i put my hair
the day after no yeah the day after wash it because it's not as clean it's not as puffy it's not as
puffy yeah like mine gets really puffy and like also when i straighten it to say i do straighten
it's just like tame it down it goes just yeah puffy i've been trying to use less heat on my hair
you've got the dicing air out
yeah i do the only difficulty with that is my hair is so long that it's really difficult to use the
oh interesting the thing like you almost have to double do it oh my god yeah i guess it's not
designed for super rapunzel hair yeah i guess it's not so i've been trying to use that i've
been you know just that's good i don't know about you but i buy packs of hair bands they just disappear and clips hair clips and socks
yeah socks as well yeah no talking about socks do you get like lots of men in your dm oh my god
yes to buy your socks i do or sending pictures of socks but they'd want the most sweaty dirty
socks they want you to send them the most dirty like like wear them after like seven days
please wear them for a week yeah yeah please train in them yeah yeah and and send me pictures oh my
god yes send me videos of feet but why are these men what is the infatuation of feet well it's just
a fetish isn't it but why i don't know i honestly don't know do you have any fetishes no i don't know. Do you have any fetishes? No, I don't. I don't think I do.
I don't think I do.
No, I don't.
Are you sure? No, I don't.
No, I actually don't.
I feel like you like me.
No, no, no.
I'm thinking about it.
I thought everyone must have a fetish, but I don't have a fetish.
So then I'm thinking, do I have a fetish?
I'm trying to search if I have a fetish, but I don't.
I don't.
If you did.
If I did, I would say.
No, but if you did and you were in a relationship, would you tell the guy you're with what your fetish is?
Yeah.
Maybe not early on. Because they would have a fetish what do you think all guys have i think there's a lot yeah i think it's very common what do you think is the most common fetish other than
feet oh which i still don't get yeah i think guys like ears
i've got really small ears i can just show them my ears yeah yeah i think it is
your thing no what do you think what the fuck is the man gonna do with an ear oh what are they
gonna do with the fucking foot
like why does i think the dirtier it is the more they like it okay so why has a guy ever asked you to send him yeah so many guys
no but i think because i think like it's just another weird random part of the body that i
think could be a fetish what do you think do you not think any other fetishes other than feet
like weird are we talking like sexual fetishes i think so yeah is that not what fetish is like
sexual right what actually is the definition of a fetish let me google a form of sexual desire in
which gratification is linked to an abnormal degree to a particular object item of clothing
part of body etc okay right i've actually got up you're right the 10 most common sexual fetishes
so number one is feet because apparently they lead to a leg
which leads to genitals which leads to the holy grail then shoes shoes okay yeah link to cut feet
i guess yeah you're right that's not number three apparently there's nothing that arouses the sexual
drive more for a lot of people than a soft smooch with the lips on their
ears i think because i think with women we have about five g-spots don't we and i think the ear
is one i mean correct me if i'm wrong i didn't know that yeah we've got a few maybe not five
minutes how many do men have maybe just one no no no no they've got two i think they've got two
because they've got the back okay i'm not
going to read all of these out yeah they're raunchy um anyway how do we get into that from
hair to feet pics right fake tan is something i get asked about all the time what fake tan do you
so i use the saint-tropez ultra dark fake tan i have to use ultra dark because always i'm actually
quite it's not dark enough when it's
just dark i don't know if that's just us being obsessed with i think we have very similar skin
colors actually oh my god i need to fake tan more oh my god look how hairy my arms are sorry can we
just talk about my hairy arms so i remember i was at a festival a guy was like your arms are really
hairy i was like mate you're at a festival we're in a crowd and you're looking at my arms my hairy
arms fuck you so yeah ever since then i i, I'm really self-conscious about my hairy arms.
So, sorry if they are too hairy for you to look at.
Apology accepted.
I accept you for you and your hairy arms.
But I need to fake tan my arms again.
Do you not think you're fake tanning all the time?
I'm fake tanning all the time.
So, right, let's actually talk through our fake tan routines.
So, I use the Saint-T ultra dark fake tan mousse i put that on let's say right so i scrub off
i then put on a layer of that and then sometimes if i want to go extra dark i'll just like stand
there i'll dry i'll put on another layer go to bed don't touch me i'm yeah you're covered covered
do you wear like full yeah i will cover because because that's not going on my bedsheets although it still goes on my bedsheets
yeah how does that happen shower off in the morning I then put a gradual
moisturizer on I've just found a new one a little bit more expensive so I don't
use it all the time Vita Liberata no the San Tropez watermelon one oh I did see
that in your stories it smells so i can imagine but i usually just
use the dove gradual tan oh yeah yeah that's also a good one or garnier yeah that's good as well oh
they smell like summer they do yeah when i put it on i'm like so then i do that yeah and then if i
look at myself and i'm not quite the level of tan i'd like to be i will not quite three weeks in bali i then will use a little bit of the bondi sands
matt's dark daily that is if i feel like having if i feel like being extra you know if i'm doing
something yeah yeah going out and going out and i want to be so how often you have to do that every
week no how often do you have to do that is it is it once a week so i do that routine once a week
okay then the difficulty is if you have an event like you know five or six days after that day
yeah you're like what do i do do i do the whole routine and do you get scaly you know like the
crocodile i've seen yours i did yeah i put mine in my story, in my private story. Do you know where
you're going wrong? Why am I not moisturizing?
Oh no, I never moisturize. Because the moisturize
is oil and that will take the fake
tan off. Really? You need to
moisturize. You moisturize every day. Wow.
I thought that takes your fake tan off.
No, no, no. So towards the beginning
of the week when I've just put on a fresh layer of
tan, I will use the gradual tanning
moisturizer and then maybe like
a few days into that i'll start not using just like a normal moisturizer the coco and eve
moisturizer smells yeah that's where they're really going yeah that's what i use i use coco
and eve mousse i use the hair product uh no because i was it just surprised me because i
knew that they did hair products and then when they sent me a fake tan i was like hey you fake tan this is like ages ago and now i am
so so so hooked because my previous loved favorite one was the vita labrata dark mousse oh that's
good it's expensive it's expensive but i tried it again after i ran out of the coco and eve it's not
dark enough right what's your tan routine routine is clearly awful because i get the scaly shit right i promise you if you start moisturizing that will stop okay you also need to make sure
when you um scrub off yeah deep scrub yeah yeah so okay my faves are coco and eve
mousse always a mousse always coco and eve dark mousse or ultra dark whatever the darkest one
okay got the mousse pros of that oh my god the smell is incredible doesn't smell like biscuits it smells like passion fruit cocktails like it smells amazing also i love the
so it's a centipede there's they've got a new centipede one black and white or something
yeah it's a new one really good that's what i'm wearing today one coat and it's enough for me but
yeah so i would shower i'd scrub scrub scrub scrub a dub oh loving tan i love loving tan
yeah isn't that the australian one which is really expensive to ship here yeah so i don't buy it they So I would shower, I'd scrub, scrub, scrub, scrub, scrub. Oh, Loving Tan. I love Loving Tan.
Isn't that the Australian one, which is really expensive to ship here?
Yeah, so I don't buy it.
They just send it to me.
I use it whenever they send it to me.
Alright, for some.
Sorry.
No, I don't mean to come across like that.
I'm sorry.
I would recommend that one if you can afford it and if you are lucky enough to be in Australia.
I really, really, really want to buy that one. Loving Tan's great.
They need to definitely put that on boots.
I'm sorry.
They do.
Like, what's
going on there they are missing out on a big market yeah sidetrack do you tan your face in
this no no no no no no because my skin spots will just come instantly so yeah i don't do that what
is really good is the coco and eve tanning drops i've got drops i've got sancho pay drops as well
but like yeah it's just working out which ones won't i'll go for your skin yeah so anyway go in the shower scrub scrub scrub come out wait a bit i've heard that if you come
out the shower you've got everything off you and then you sleep and then you fake tan in the morning
apparently that's better oh i've heard that because like it's given your body time to like
resurface yeah or something regenerate it's just chapter here but i don't think i could go over that no i'm joking
would you still put fake tanner makeup on if no one was seeing you for like two weeks yeah i would
same it just makes me feel good yeah even if i feel really unwell sometimes yeah no no holy oh
my god psychologically i think if you're ill and you look at yourself and you also look ill,
that's going to make you feel worse.
Yeah.
But if you feel like shit and then you look in the mirror and you're like, oh, I look
alright.
You'll probably feel a little bit better.
It's just like the whole makeup thing going to the gym.
You perform better if you feel a bit better.
I think it's all down to like confidence.
So sorry, I interrupted your fake tan routine.
Oh, don't worry.
You continue.
I'll shut up.
What did I do?
So scrubs are scrubbed.
Put your tan on.
Go to sleep.
Go to sleep.
Well, I don't actually go to sleep. I just put it on after the shower really but that is a tip that
i need to do so i put my tan on i do one coat and then yeah pop into bed wake up shower and that's
it and then i fake tan again for maybe on the third day after that i just keep fake tan and
keep topping up so at what point do you scrub off on the sunday or when i see it's getting scaly again does it get scaly every week yeah
every week yeah it does that is generally like the norm like that's norm for me right after this
we're gonna go to a shop yeah i'm gonna buy you some moisturizers gift on me oh honey i'll save
you from the scaliness talking about fake tan because this is actually like where we're going with this subject yes fake
tan sweat gym gym clothes oh my god i've got a really bad story not a bad story but it's really
just embarrassing so i went to this event and obviously it was an event with all the influences
there so i obviously fake tanned i was wearing these like cute whitney pale yellow shorts and
it was a spin class so very sweaty and
obviously it's really dark and then you come out and then obviously it's a lot lighter and I just
obviously I'd sweated a lot I did feel a lot of bum sweat right my fake tan sweated off onto my
shorts onto my pale yellow shorts so there was like this like bomb yeah like honestly it was so bad it was
like all fake tan gross it was just a really awful color and so for the rest of the event i had to
wear this big bad big bag big baggy hoodie on me oh no which really made me feel shit oh no babe so
you know make sure you wash your tan off yeah a lot always not wash it off but you mean wash that cut like that coat oh you went to the event with tan like no i had showered
oh i was gonna say obviously not enough which is really annoying okay what's your work is that
your worst fake tan disaster i mean they probably all align to yeah around that yeah that is probably one of my worst stories recently that
i can remember because my brain fog is still really bad okay you know it is i know it's really
bad we can talk about that another time i would say my worst fake tan situation is um like bono
fans obviously i love i love their day t. Their normal tan makes me look like Shrek.
Like green.
It makes me go green.
Like, bright green.
Like, seriously, it's not okay.
Bondi Sands.
Why does everyone use Bondi Sands if that's the case?
I bought a new tan.
I put it on.
I was all excited.
I was like, I'm going to get up in the morning and be like a bronze goddess.
Look in the mirror and I was like, oh no, I'm green.
Oh my God.
Do you have to scrub it all off?
Yeah.
I had to use bleach.
Oh no, you did not.
You did not put bleach on you.
You didn't.
Emma, that is so bad.
You're burning your skin.
It was a few years ago.
I've learned.
You put bleach on yourself.
I just didn't know what to do.
What on earth?
I'm not taking your fake tan tips. You're not taking didn't know what to do I'm not taking your
tip fake tan tips you're not taking me and getting gradual tan I'm not taking your tips
looking in the mirror and being green and you can't scrub it off I needed something
acetone
bleach me up we've also had some questions about our take on beauty treatments.
Cosmetics.
Cosmetic procedures.
It's such a touchy subject, isn't it?
Because we are not promoting getting cosmetic surgery or anything like that.
It's generally just down to the individual person.
It just so happens to be that we do talk about things and we are open and we're not here promoting it.
But we're just literally telling you our experiences
yeah so obviously one of your insecurities when you're younger your lips my lips so i don't think
a lot of people know this because i think they look quite like natural i guess they're not like
you know huge big lips there's like this common perception that people have on lip fillers like
they just look like duck lips yeah duck lips so yeah i was 19 I think when I first got them done I
genuinely I didn't have lips like my dad has no lip and there's no lip like it just stops and
then he's got teeth there's no in between I got those jeans and I didn't have any lips so it's
always been a massive massive insecurity of mine and I thought you know when I'm old enough I'll
just get a bit of filler I researched a lot like my mum was a bit hesitant and you know
my dad was obviously very hesitant and people were saying you know you don't need to get them done
but like it was just so deeply ingrained in me that I just needed to get them done like I wanted
to get them done I didn't need to get them done I wanted to get them done let me rephrase that I did
lots of research and made sure it was like this woman who was qualified she was a nurse very
knowledgeable in what she was doing so yeah I went to get them done and i got about 0.5 mil and then like literally made
no difference like hardly any difference you would just not be able to tell so then about
two three weeks later i went back got more filler in to the point where like you know i just kept
getting it done basically into until i got to how many times have you had it done i've had it done
because basically if you don't know filler like dissolves so that's another thing which is which
is why i got it done it's a scary thing to get needles stuck in your face but the fact that it dissolves
and it's temporary kind of reassuring yeah it's reassuring so if it ever does go wrong god forbid
then you can just get it dissolved or whatever i get top ups like every year but at the start i
was getting them like every three months because my lips just weren't used to it and it just went
so quickly so i think i've got about 10 mil in them but no no no not like
now as in right now over time over time yeah i'm just so much more confident with them oh
yeah fully happy with those can i just tell the guy tell everyone what you just did she's looked
in the mirror and goes yeah just a double check yeah yeah yeah they look great thing is my mom
was like you're gonna go crazy you're gonna get everything else done you're gonna just you know
completely change your face but i haven't no like i literally haven't it's just like i guess
enhancing your own beautiful features it is rather than changing yeah replacing or whatever it's just
enhancing or trying to look like someone else it's just that was a little insecurity yeah it's made you more confident so there's nothing wrong
with it so i genuinely think you know obviously you never want to go too far or do anything
dangerous no no no no you always want to do your research yeah make sure what you're doing is safe
safe is the priority you need to say yes but if you are really really really really insecure about
something and you've really thought about it you've done a lot of research and you think it's
going to boost your confidence then i don't think there's anything wrong with it i agree i agree it
would honestly get in the way of everything i look at photos and the first thing i looked at was
well other than my body the first thing i looked at would be my lip all the time all the time and
i was just so fixated on it so as soon as i you know helped that insecurity it's like oh okay that's fine that's great do you think it's hard because obviously i feel like we
have these insecurities because we're comparing ourselves to other people so then those people
who get the insecurities are you know kind of conforming to the norm let's say so then everyone
else who isn't with the norm will then conform to those people who have just conformed to the norm
do you know what i mean so then everyone changes everyone's on this cycle exactly trend
is yeah or they're still not really satisfied and they're looking at the people around them as well
and they're changing whatever because they don't have something that another person has it's a
constant cycle so like yeah like it's so tricky because obviously i'm on instagram i'm all about
like loving yourself and everything like this and it doesn't take away the fact that i and everything like this. And it doesn't take away the fact that I love myself.
Getting lip filler does not take away the fact that I love myself.
I still love myself with or without lip filler.
But people still argue and say,
well, how can you promote body positivity and self-love
when you're still getting stuff injected in your face?
And it's a tricky argument.
Because I don't know what to say back to them.
Because I'm like, yeah, I so get what you mean.
But in my head, I'm like, I don't know what to say back to them because i'm like yeah i so get what you mean but in my head i'm like i don't know i love my take on that is do what you
want you're your own person you don't have to explain yourself you don't have to explain yourself
if that has made you happier yeah i'm more confident and there's no negative consequences
from you doing that there's nothing wrong with it also it gets tricky and it becomes an issue
when you're doing things that are unrealistic so if i am getting lip filler that is so big that's unrealistic there's not a
lot of people who have like naturally massive like you say your lips look very natural very natural
so it's not like you know reaching unrealistic standards it is just having some lips i didn't
have any lips before i'm just literally having no more I guess it's very similar to me
it was actually a couple of days ago it was a year anniversary wow a year my new boobs no oh my god
it feels like ages ago yeah and it's the exact same thing like I was so insecure about it I
quite literally had no boobs yeah I remember seeing pictures flat chest nothing wrong with
that but i felt insecure
about it and it's something that i'd wanted to do for like years five or six years obviously
really nervous about it but i did my research i really thought about it i spoke to lots of people
about it and i just decided to go ahead and do it and like your lips i went for a very natural size
my boobs do not look fake they don't look disproportionate to your body like they are
very just i i said i actually said to my surgeon i want the most natural looking fake boobs you've ever made
and i feel like they do look like that they are in proportion with me i actually had to go for a
smaller size implant because in the operation he tried to put the um implants in that i wanted
they didn't fit he said my skin wouldn't stretch over and they just
wouldn't fit right so he put the smaller implant that's good i did a youtube video all about this
and why i did this but it's the same thing like obviously us doing these things like it's not
promoting it but we are just open about it that's what i think is so important because if you're not
open about it then people are going to think oh look emma's got such perfect boobs like why don't
i have perfect boobs but the fact that you know my boobs are perfect well perfect doesn't exist but you
know the fact that you're open honest about it and you can say well these are fake guys these
aren't my real boobs yeah so then people that's going to help people's confidence because then
they're like well I guess there's no point me comparing my real boobs someone's fake boobs
and it's the same with anything else yeah so that's why we're transparent about it but also you have to remember us being transparent about it isn't us saying that's the right thing
to do it's just a very personal thing very personal thing if you individually think it's
going to boost your confidence which could therefore make you happy and feel like you can
achieve more and do more things because of that confidence boost you're going to get from it
then think about it yeah so what would you say
this actually relates to the previous episode there's people insulting your appearance for
whatever reason and like say i can say to you like you need to get a nose job or something
yeah i'm just like constantly insulting your nose when your nose is absolutely gorgeous by the way
what if people are getting these insults and that is affecting their confidence and then that makes them get things you know done to adjust it i mean it's hard isn't it because if someone was always
saying that to me about my nose that would then probably create an insecurity in myself about my
nose so it could like trigger me to then want to do that which is so sad but this is what we were
talking about in the previous episode like if you have toxic people like that who are telling you they don't like your nose,
you need to tell them to stop.
Imagine if it's just random people online.
Oh, trolls.
Yeah.
It's so awful.
I think you're bad.
If you guys like that bit in that podcast.
I don't like your nose.
I think you're bulky.
I want to be bulky anyway.
No, but yeah, it's tricky it's tricky i mean i think if it's
the insecurity of yours and it's not being influenced by external forces yeah you need
to make sure that's not being yeah just that's the point you just need to make sure it's not
coming from an outside perspective of other people's opinions of you yeah yeah yeah or
chasing anything completely unrealistic or
just it's you know what it's quite interesting because like people hate on people who get
plastic surgery done or anything fake or anything to enhance their natural features yet people have
no issue of others getting hair extensions or lash extensions or you know like brow lamination
or whatever like that is still enhancing your natural features do you not understand that do you know what i mean like why is there such an issue
like one might take 40 minutes one might take you know an overnight stay in a hospital being cut
open but not even that though live for that two two seconds well two minutes did you find it painful
no they just they just really numb you up and they really numb you up yeah have you had any other
um so i get preventative botox literally my forehead but people just cannot tell like i can
still lift my brows very easily but it just doesn't create loads of lines that one wasn't
something that i've been thinking about if the doctor i go to he was like you know i can you
know i can i think i would have definitely got it done. Probably like when I was like maybe like 26, 27.
Or even when I started seeing wrinkles.
But that's not the point.
Like he was telling me how preventative Botox is done to prevent like harsh wrinkles when you're older.
So I'm not going to be getting this done when I'm like 40.
Because I wouldn't have those wrinkles.
I guess in a way it's kind of like the same as, not the same, similar to just having like a really good um skincare routine
absolutely because i i love like my my skincare and my eye creams and stuff that's all like
preventative and in a way enhancing your beauty and it's not always about trying to look like
someone else or trying to be someone else because you don't love yourself it's because you want to
optimize how you feel yeah no definitely like i honestly don't love yourself it's because you want to optimize how
you feel yeah no definitely like i honestly don't care if i get wrinkles on all that it's bound to
happen like come on we just embrace the wrinkles and i think we've actually realized here like why
we're doing it because we've both admitted we would do this even if we were not seeing anyone
for two weeks we do it for ourselves for our own content that's so true whereas if you were doing
it for a man or doing it for social approval then it's got a completely different that's when
it's an issue if you feel like you have to go get your boobs done in a lip job because people won't
like you unless you look like that then that's i think there's so many people who like that and
especially now instagram filters have come around apparently like people go to surgeons and show
them a filter like a picture of them with a filter on there like I want to look like that how toxic is that I remember when I was using filters all the time I would I noticed when
you transition yeah did you notice yeah so when I use filters all the time it made me so much more
insecure in my natural self because I saw myself as quote unquote better with the filter on yeah
so it made me think oh right my nose doesn't look like that my nose isn't that small like you know
it made me it made about my face and features about my face a lot more obvious i yeah i think
you need to be really self-aware yeah when you are using filters like i mean i use them but you
have to remember if you are constantly using them and seeing yourself like that all the time you
have to remember you don't look you don't look like that and that's it's fine that you don't
know like that it's normal that you don't look like that but you just have to like be aware of that and not compare yourself to the filters
yeah compare yourself to everyone else on social media i think be okay being raw on social media
without a filter and also be fine using a filter it's just showing both just be self-aware about it
so yeah that was a point that i wanted to raise just came to my head um have you had anything
else done um i have actually had lip filler once oh you did did you i remember you going yeah it was so
painful oh yeah i guess my pain threshold was quite good so i've mine might have been a bit
different what was yours like about eight months ago maybe eight months ago yeah right so i had
you know you have to buy a milliliter oh uh wait what
what filler did you get i don't know you don't know what filler you got no i do know but i've
gone from my brain you have to buy like a milliliter it's like the hyaluronic acid one
okay i'm sorry guys i don't know the technical terms some fillers you have to do that yeah
it was yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah it's okay guys emma emma's got a shit together
it wasn't like some dodgy like back end street in london like
i had 0.2 in my bottom lip and i had 0.4 in my top okay yeah my bottom lip i'm fine with it was
just my upper lip i just wanted a little that makes
sense yeah but it was very painful i didn't enjoy it one bit at all and this is another thing the
amount of pain girls have to go through for these procedures the thing i had they put like a needle
in my cheek what yeah i don't know wait no you didn't get cheek filler it was here oh interesting
you know here and then they would put the needle in all the way through your no and it was like wow i never no i didn't get that and
then as they pull it out the filler goes oh my god i was just there like looking at wow that's
interesting there must be different techniques so i don't know yeah mine was like you know different
incisions oh yeah no i didn't have that mine was mine was quite a procedure okay well definitely yeah i don't know obviously we
had different procedures so yeah are you happy with your lips now yeah have they dissolved
probably you know you're still happy anything else um no that's good imagine if you're like
yeah cheek filler jaw filler i would be completely transparent and honest like i am about my boobs
and that like but
the lip thing really scared me and like there's nothing really else like I'm not saying I love
my face or anything like that you should fucking love your face say you love your face so you'll
love your face right now I love my face no when I was younger I used to want hand surgery oh my
god oh my god can we talk about my weird hands? Oh my god, yeah. Oh, bless them. So I wanted hands that sound really cute.
Oh guys, you can't see them, but Emma's hands are like diagonal.
No, I have wonky little fingers.
I know I'm holding it up.
Yeah, like the microphone's going to be a camera in there as well.
No, I have wonky little fingers and it's called clinodactyly.
Wow.
And I used to get bullied for
it again god i have so much bullying in the night a lot basically it's a genetic disorder where your
little baby fingers go a little bit wonky and i used to be so insecure about it the only thing
that it prevents me from doing optimally is sometimes when i pick up a dumbbell it's just
like the little fingers getting in the way oh my god that's interesting and i i actually have been offered free surgery this thing does hand surgery actually exist because
when i wanted this people were like hand surgery doesn't exist so what the hell's wrong oh this
is just ridiculous but i just i've always said i have man hands they are big aren't they no they're
not but that's just reminding me of something hilarious that a man once said to my friend
what is it worse than my hairy arms yeah no what is it i was actually
sat there so we were like with just like a group of people there's this guy who was like chatting
to her and she she was just sat there with her hands on the table he goes i love your hands
he was like that's a fetish and he was like that he's like they're like lion paws oh he's a creep to a runner that's a fetish he's got a fetish lion
paws well she doesn't have lion paws but like it's just reminded me you know you have lovely hands
yeah manly it's just something that i i have now accepted you have to just think like having a big
hand will mean you can lift bigger weights big hands yeah i can punch anyone yeah you can get
some my way i'm joking don't mug millie. She does not want to mug me, guys.
She's got some lion force on her.
But no, I think we should leave off the hand surgery.
We haven't got time for that.
Yeah, no, no.
We don't have time for that.
No, no, no.
So is that the end of the podcast?
Well, yeah.
I think that's quite an interesting one.
