Welcome to an HBO
podcast from the HBO
Late Night series
Real Time with Bill Maugh.
Donald Trump wants his wall.
He wants that fucking wall.
Well, wall.
First it was a wall, then it was a fence.
Now it's a steel barrier with slats.
Soon it's going to be a series of traffic cones,
a velvet rope,
the honor system,
and we're just going to end up with thoughts and prayers.
That's how we solve everything on the right,
this thoughts and prayers.
the government is shut down.
They're not going to do the State of the Union.
So the President of the United States has nothing to do
but stay in his room till noon every day and watch TV.
Like every other day of his presidency.
He is the only government worker
who has been furloughed by Nancy Pelosi.
But yeah, the State of the Union standoff,
apparently that's over.
If you missed it, the back and forth,
it went something like this.
Mr. President, you can.
You can't come here and do the State of the Union.
Yes, I can.
No, you can't.
Well, I didn't want to anyway.
In Russia news, Trump's old lawyer, Michael Cohen, is a fixer.
He has backed out of the testimony he was going to give to Congress because he said he doesn't
feel safe because President Trump and Rudy Giuliani have been threatening his family.
Michael Cohen said today, he said, I'm being bullied and intimidated.
And I should know that was my old job.
That was...
But maybe I'm being too hard on the president.
He's been doing some things.
He came up with a slogan.
He came up with a new slogan.
Build a wall and crime will fall.
That's his new slogan.
Build a wall and crime will fall.
I got one.
Just resign will all be fine.
