Starting point is 00:00:00 that's so smart okay we should be great like you're monitoring your own sound levels amazing we're back we're here with this is your first time on the pod this is my he's been on yeah with Patrick I think it was like a new year's solo appearance yeah of mr. Paul Cooper starring my first starring role no longer featured I know this needs to be better than Patrick's appearances because he's always like oh they said they said my episode was the best I think he's been on more than anyone else yeah probably but really glad to have you here yeah I thought you're gonna say really glad to not have him so glad he
Starting point is 00:01:15 moved to LA hope he's doing great I know I told him I was like I'm going I'm doing red scare tomorrow about fashion and immediately as if I asked he started sending me like a hundred voice notes of all of his opinions our voice notes a gay thing because I have never I only do with Patrick okay and we do it like well you do it with us too oh right yeah yeah right it's always like if it's like me pat to do it all day long we like barely write each other we only do voice notes back okay all day long and sometimes when I send voice notes to you guys in the group it's because it'll just be easier for me to like get out like
Starting point is 00:02:06 three times instead of course yeah text and you want people to hear kind of the affect and enthusiasm and your voice and stuff right yeah I do you want to know that you're saying it gaily I just want to say that the straight men should shut this episode off now just shut it off what straight man all the straight men that listen to this should just shut this off in general because they only listen to it so they get like jack off yeah I like be rude on on a fucking Instagram it's like I always like obviously we're friends so I love when you like retweet me but like sometimes you retweet me and then like
Starting point is 00:02:57 immediately I get like flooded with hatred I start getting like the hate tweets and I'm not that guy like cuz I'll like keep going with them and I have to remind myself like oh this is like actually I psycho yeah I don't even look at my replies I know I stop I mean I deleted the sub I very very good basically stopped looking at my replies on Twitter I'm like a new woman I have like 16 hours in the day to do jack shit Matilda who played Matilda that that girl who played Matilda you know oh yeah she's like a leftist now she she retweeted she she did she did a retweet of mine once and I had to like I was
Starting point is 00:03:40 going to delete my entire Instagram because of it wait why I don't even remember so many I got so many replies the app's are meant to work like that but then I realized you could just turn off like any reply that's not from people you're directly following yeah you have to which is I've had it that way for a while that's like the Joe Rogan philosophy he just like lets one rip and then doesn't look back no I'm serious it's smart it's really smart yeah you're not there to have a I think that's what I'm iced tea does too it's like you're not there to have a conversation it's like Twitter is not a forum no not here
Starting point is 00:04:20 to yeah like that's why we like don't use Facebook do you have Facebook who has Facebook exactly I still use my Facebook but only because I like to log on every few days and just see the memory feature yeah fun it's like sweet and like I use a gap called time hop that has like a really like stupid picture like a dinosaur that like aggregates all of your social media through the past so time hop knows all of your passwords if you go every day yeah great what a genius whatever so we're talking fashion speaking of fashion you had texted the other day being like hey guys should I get bangs yes and everyone's like yes
Starting point is 00:05:08 queen like get your get your bangs back no yes you wrote but the bangs worked out the bangs look good I'm always on the fence about bangs because like they could really go either way and I think people get bangs in moments of existential need and vulnerability I've had bangs before yes yeah I'd like to I met you when you had bangs yeah but I think there was a lot of people who got like core bangs which was a bad idea in retrospect definitely I definitely had one of those evenings tequila bangs are what they call the really short ones that just like yeah every time you're drunk they get a little shorter yeah baby
Starting point is 00:05:46 bangs keep trying to even them out bpd bangs but thanks for saying they look good yeah they really look really cute in a good way I think okay so eyes you have a hole I have I just have notes of just like basic things because I didn't know like this is your sort of area of expertise well it is it and it is it I'm I'm sort of a fashion I'm a fashion outsider like you don't get invited to show people don't acknowledge I work in fact I've been overlooked from like every single thing I've ever done which is fine because ultimately like the fact okay the fashion I work in like my fashion started with like Zaldi and like
Starting point is 00:06:46 RuPaul and like Michael Jackson and like Britney Spears costumes and then I went to Hed Bayer which is like the least fashion of the fashion brands yeah so when I was working in fashion I was working for Hed Bayer alongside all these like huge designers and like better you know the federations and all that stuff and like we were the brand that was the least fashion and it's it is the only brand I would work for in fashion right like everyone's like oh you should you should work for Balenciaga or Louis Vuitton or I would never yeah I have no desire to work in like a corporate fashion no we're like I mean fashion
Starting point is 00:07:25 people are like real estate agents their whole game is to convince you that they're really cool and you're desperate when it's the other way around it's like literally the racket right it's like no you're the one who works in a cubicle office not me I'm the one who has a disposable income it's like selling you want a fantasy that's like the job the job of fashion is like selling you want to finance your lifestyle which is like very real estate agent yeah no literally yeah and I guess the reason why you invited me was because of my my my Matthew Williams Givenchy Givenchy takedown which was before we go into the
Starting point is 00:08:05 shows we liked and the shows we didn't like the Givenchy show was the worst fashion show the worst collection of garments I have ever seen in fashion like in your life in my life it was the word because I've already seen all of those pieces number one and I didn't like I didn't like them the first time around I didn't like when Margiela did those shoulders the first time around yeah ladies everything was a copycat of like another designer's work yeah and I think everyone was expecting everyone was really anticipating like what what Matt would do when he got to Givenchy yeah from the work he did with Elix but
Starting point is 00:08:42 surprise I didn't like what he did at Elix I'm learning so many like pronunciations yeah weird pronunciation of what was the one that I thought was low like the Spanish word for rain and Elix Elix okay so stupid such a dumb name first of all that's like Lady Gaga's creative directors brand right or no yes no yes yes right he was he was Lady Gaga's it sounds like the name of a brand and like a movie yeah like that will Farrell plays the lead designer of right and then he he was part of like the the Kanye Virgil group of boys he was early on in like the Hood By Air circle to okay his wife Jennifer did
Starting point is 00:09:35 the early sales for Hood By Air okay and then sued by air how long did you work for Hood By Air I worked for Hood By Air from probably 2016 just 2019 and then the hiatus happened and then I went to helmet language chain when did they start selling Hood By Air at Barney's do you remember I remember the moment but I don't remember probably that was 2015 or 2016 I started working for Hood By Air when Shane could pay me yeah because I've been friends with him for you know 20 years but he always wants me to come help him and I'm just like I'm not like you and I'm not like everyone that works for you like like this is your brand so
Starting point is 00:10:19 obviously you're like okay with living though like living on your budget to do this and people you work for are probably okay with not getting paid but I couldn't not be paid right so once he won the prize from CFTA then he was able to hire me and then we I started working there and I moved like that week to Milan and me and Shane lived in Milan for like a year doing the pity Omo collection wow bravo it's sweet that you said wow but I'm gonna be like Dasha now tell me what pity Omo I was just thinking about you and Milan yeah oh god have you ever been to Milan yes I have I don't love it the worst place it looks
Starting point is 00:11:04 like Sixth Avenue like the whole city looks like the worst part yeah yeah but as that Duomo I don't know what pity Omo is other than like the sartorialist used to photograph it but I too pity the WOMOs yeah the Duomo is cool because like you can like guarantee you'll be like a robbed or like scammed by gypsies I do want to talk about John Galliano's voice being really insufferable speaking of gypsies he reminds me of a Vatican gypsy so you watch so you watch the Margiela did you watch the whole thing no absolutely I did it I got like literally five minutes yeah I saw long
Starting point is 00:11:49 it's like as long as a savage Fenty yeah should we talk about some shows or John Galliano has this like very floral floral way about things and what is that accent I think it's like Derrick from Beverly Hills mish mosh accent yeah it's like a gay or gay or is the cat cartoon but yeah I remember there's this old video of him at Dior where he's like you know when you look at this you can hear the cannons blasting the drama it's just like it's like it and it's like insufferable to like be like modern and like listen to that yeah like yeah be like a normal contemporary person it's
Starting point is 00:12:46 like listening to like a song from like the 20s that's like a Jalopy or like a grandfather clock or something you're like I can't believe people used to like listen to well one of the parts that I did see in the video was like him citing singing in the rain as an inspiration why would you watch a black and white movie sorry I don't feel that way in real life but yeah he's just like very annoying but I'm really glad to see that he's getting work after his like anti-semitic rant and what's really funny is like I never listened to that rant so I don't know what it sounds like but it's crazy to think that he said it
Starting point is 00:13:21 in that voice and he did it at this cafe that like anytime you walk by someone with you will be like oh that's the cafe it happened it's like where it's like Versace's house in Miami like the two great fashion venue right this collection is inspired by Andrew Kunanan that's actually not a bad idea Bjarni Melgar did a collection and art show at Red Bull like maybe two three years ago inspired by Andrew Kunanan or Andrew Kunanan was like a big element in the clothes and the prints wow okay interesting it was cool I think you could do like it's been done I like John Galliano because he looks like Paris
Starting point is 00:14:23 Dasha's ex oh kind of yeah and I look like Mark Jacobs and we're like the two kind of like designer I know I have like the same face and he's maybe transitioning so maybe wait is gonna look more like yo well I don't know he's like he's just like he's living I think he's living as a in women's clothing he's so confused but I'm not sure if he like dyed his hair blue or if he like is wearing like a blue wig now at first I was like I was like nah I like can't do this anymore like nah I may have to unfollow at first I was like really turned off by it but because he's stuck with it I'm just like okay maybe he's
Starting point is 00:15:04 tearing it a little bit the main thing that I really resent about Mark Jacobs is that he has like he keeps revamping his line and adding new kind of marks or Jacobs to the line and now it's called the Mark Jacobs which I really hate I also hate that line the Attico like why add the to it mark by Mark Jacobs the Mark Jacobs yeah he has a bookstore by the way yeah bookmark bookmark is actually really well I walk past it at night when it was closed and I was like is that a mark I think it's because I think he does these things because now he's at the like chains of LVMH and LVMH is such a conservative company that
Starting point is 00:15:47 they don't like probably let him do everything he wants to do so he like and he is a true I think he's a true artistic mind he's a true artistic person like well how am I supposed to do that then if you won't let me so I think that that's why things like his new collection the Heaven collection pop up because it's something that can be like sort of a side project for him that's not I mean I don't know business-wise like which projects are owned by LVMH and which aren't but it seems like he can it seems like he tries to get out of LVMH he probably doesn't even want to be there to be completely honest
Starting point is 00:16:21 he probably doesn't even want to be alive anymore honestly yeah but I it's like a weird like the Mark Jacobs is a weird line because it's just like kind of down market mu-mu like lots of big frilly collars and like no I like it too but it's just like why the naming why add like change your brand name every two years is it some like bankruptcy evasion scheme I remember it probably is that too but I remember when that first happened it was like mark by mark like by mark and I was like just the whole logo was just this name all over that was like funny um but I mean yeah I mean it's smart to the Nick Mullin
Starting point is 00:17:03 collection sorry I'm not even drunk anyway Margella the show was beautiful and interesting and well done and not thrown together remedial like all fashion is today but Galliano really like left an unsavory stamp it's like if only he like didn't speak yeah I think what Galliano does I know no one else is like it's either he doesn't like to speak or he like needs to only speak no clothes he does deconstructed like really well so like you know it's gonna be like like well made and like well sown he has like a really strong aesthetic that I think he's finally leaning into whereas I think when he first started
Starting point is 00:18:04 Margella I was like okay you like have really weird like you've hired obviously a really young team that's just like looking at the youth designers around you and you're just copying it like it didn't feel like Margella it didn't feel like Galliano but now at least it feels more like Galliano completely not Margella but it feels at least like yeah it's his like weird little tango gypsy like Picasso blue period aesthetic with like cravat and Mary Janes for men you know and like and his theme was like tango and then I like the kind of they slapped the Margella number on the back of like the jackets which was very like
Starting point is 00:18:43 reminded me of bullfighting it would have been cooler if the whole collection was like models being gored by bulls that Madonna video yeah that was a good video horrible ones were like it's going through there like I freeze frames of that that was an action excellent book idea the thing is is when he was Galliano at Dior he was like this like ultra faggot he was like we even like pencil mustache and like weird-fitting jean like a tight Salvador dolly yeah no seriously that's what I was thinking it and then he like did his scandal and like got fired from Dior which is yours literally the biggest
Starting point is 00:19:27 mistakes yours ever made because they've never they've never come back from that yeah I said it and then when he gets like reborn by Renzo from diesel who owns who owns Margella uh-huh like diesel owns Margella first of all that actually makes a lot of sense and then when they pushed him out these like spiffy clean short hair wearing a suit doing like weird press he like converted to Judaism like so weird and felt eerie what's diesels deal I don't know Paul my parents really likes to wear diesel well I'm a little I'm a little older than you guys but like when I was in high school diesel was like the coolest yeah designer
Starting point is 00:20:16 for like a young person like that was the coolest yeah I remember this my mom tried to make me wear diesel because it was like very Russian and then like your coolest friends worked there yeah and the jeans were like $300 you like oh my god three hundred dollars for jeans like but then you know they they as most things do they like get bigger and bigger and Lamer and Lamer but then he started like buying up things so he bought he you know he he owns Margella now I forgot what he else if there's something else he owns where's he from he's Italian yeah his name is Renzo rapist I know they sandblast the jeans
Starting point is 00:20:57 and beller that's all the sandblasting your noble factory but he actually he just appointed he disappointed I literally I just forgot his name they got the head designer of wise project he does the point he disappointed him as the creative director of diesel that'll be interesting very interesting and he did he did the collection after Shane Oliver did the diesel collection then that guy did the diesel after so obviously Renzo was like interviewing and like Shane Oliver like failed his interview yeah I always I always think that it's Shane Olivier it should be it should be just to let Olivier Rousting
Starting point is 00:21:45 have it yeah from Bellman yeah I really liked the Y project collection yeah I thought it was cute I don't know why you didn't like it I I didn't I didn't say that you were I said on the fence you were on the fence I was I shared I shared a document with the ladies where I wrote on the shows I love the shows I hate in the shows I'm on the fence and why project is in the on the fence what were you on the fence about I like why project but I maybe it's because I understand that design aesthetic like most of all yeah like my design aesthetic is what has always been like kind of silly and like yeah things going where
Starting point is 00:22:26 they shouldn't but ultimately things having a purpose of why they're there right and maybe a little bit of a reason is like I can't take maybe I was like oh that's like really good like why didn't I think of that like maybe it's a little bit of that okay which I don't think is like it's I mean it's definitely a little bit of that and now it's like oh I would have done that better I would have done you know like yeah it's a little close to home that's how I feel about Balenciaga because it's like a mood board onto my own soul yeah it's just like big-nosed mullet girls and oversized men's jackets with like one
Starting point is 00:23:01 shiny detail well the big-nosed mullet girl was really all over a lot of the shows I know the big-nosed mullet girl I know the Anna I know the fashion show oh it's me residuals I'm gonna get really fat then you can do savage Fenty yeah right I mean the most iconic haircuts are like Anna went or an Akashian so it's like thank you iconic mullet yeah balance should we talk about Balenciaga maybe let's hit Balenciaga and you like the big ones and then we can talk about all the little mince brands great okay someone you start with Balenciaga oh we're starting with Balenciaga since we're already yeah I mean I have I have a love
Starting point is 00:23:52 hate relationship with them because again it's like literally like what I would what I do wear like ugly square-toed shoes and oversized jeans and like a boxy blazer but like you don't think you've been influenced by Balenciaga I have and I haven't you know yeah but I but they're really smart because they don't really sell you individual products I said this a million times on the show they sell you a way of looking mm-hmm like they basically their aesthetic is like dime square art person from 2018 who's dressed like a homeless person or a school shooter it's Walter Pierce their aesthetic
Starting point is 00:24:30 is Walter yeah yeah yeah yeah and like you I I guess what you're saying maybe is that it's it seems like you don't actually need to buy Balenciaga to look like a Balenciaga person which is it's pretty easy right I got when they had look for less with this sinners like years ago I got like a knockoff one off of eBay because I was like right they're already going for a knockoff aesthetic so yeah I don't it doesn't matter at all it's a knockoff aesthetic and I think Demna as much as I've had I've been like I've gone back and forth with Demna I think that he has good taste I think that he references undeniable yeah he
Starting point is 00:25:10 references things that are cool and when he does like a hokey sort of reference you like you're not cynical about it so like if he does like the towel hotel hotels spa slippers and puts a little heel on them you're like he just has he really has late Soviet over identified meta taste that's all he has like that every person from the Soviet Union like I feel about him like you feel like you feel about the Y project people like I know what's going through his head because I think the same way myself because you're looking at kind of like American consumer culture from the outside in like the Ikea monkey between like plates
Starting point is 00:25:49 of glass you know and like you know all of his models like the formula my thing is like the formula is very canned right now it's always like androgynous all ages interesting looking but not conventionally attractive models who look like they look like Luxembourg diplomats and service workers who are like running out to the deli at like two in the morning it's like that kind of look like from their shitty like hotel Mercure room well this model that I pulled up that's wearing the the chain mail that was okay the thing I like about Demna is Demna in this silver chain mail slip dress is not referencing
Starting point is 00:26:28 Versace doing this because this is just a photocopy of a Versace dress he's referencing the Mary J Blige photo of her wearing right Versace you know there's like a slight difference in the way he references and just a fun fact this model her name is Gigi Neff no no Gigi Hari Gigi Hari yeah Gigi Hari because she is the she is the house of she's in the house of Neff her name is Gigi Hari okay so she's like the the new trans model of the of the month okay interesting of the spring summer 2021 but yeah like the other thing with Balenciaga is that like the kind of styling and production looks really
Starting point is 00:27:16 good but the garments themselves are like not that great you know what I'm saying I mean like the stuff that they sell like some of that they'll throw like the chain mail dress I've never inspected the actual clothes I have that bag that I wear yeah and like that's just really well made like it's it's it's really nice it's like that's printed leather and those that logo is never gonna like crack off of it which I appreciate totally the zipper always runs smooth you know like things like that I appreciate in designer clothes and like should be there in designer clothes yeah whereas when I look at a math I'm at Williams
Starting point is 00:27:54 Givenchy bag I'm just like oh that looks like a first proto like no one wants their bags to be that it looks like Zara yeah yeah it's that I mean it it looks like Zara I mean he went from also the shoes everyone's like oh the shoes are actually kind of cool it's like no the shoes are not cool you took like the one thing that's like kind of the easiest thing to make like the sexiest thing is like a woman's foot in a heel and you made it look disgusting what's the shoe well what's the bouncy auga shoe it's the hotel slipper thing I really like that one first of all I like the bouncy aga runway show where they're like models
Starting point is 00:28:32 like stomping through the streets of Paris at night really nice the funniest part was the health safety and sanitation disclaimer in the end like all the models did six feet apart and were inspected by health blah blah blah right everyone was kind of I appreciated people who didn't I liked Mu Mu I thought they dealt with COVID well yeah and didn't did you guys like Jill Sanders no I didn't want I looked at Jill Sanders and watched the video video was like so like morose and I was like what the fuck I want to show you the shape Mu Mu actually I want to show you the Givenchy shoe I hate it so much oh it's like I
Starting point is 00:29:10 hate it so much it's like if if the Margiela tabby had Down syndrome extra extra toes it's what Paul was like we've seen it before but it's worse right it's like doing the Margiela tabby with like that stupid no one wants their middle two toes that close and that far away from the other toes yeah just no one wants that it's like the toilet paper whatever they put between your toes and you get a pedicure but it's like it's like everyone's like oh Matt Williams is the king of hardware he's so good at hardware so good at hardware he's not good at hardware his he's good at photocopying existing hardware that's
Starting point is 00:29:57 what he's good at but I mean the horn is a nod to McQueen I don't even know what that clasp is but it's ugly it is it's really it's like kind of too geometric for the aesthetic I just don't he like this reminds you of like what Vincent Gallo said about Quentin Tarantino which is that he's a collage artist that's what this guy is he's just like a you know an amalgamation but some people can collage very well yeah right like Quentin Tarantino is a good collage yeah he's great this is no disrespect but let's see August of them yes he's a total yeah yeah that's what Balenciaga is doing yeah essentially yeah references Matt Williams is
Starting point is 00:30:37 um sorry let me just stop wow what you're done this is Matt Williams is like you know it's always or there's something that's always irked me about his references it's like a leaks is like oh this is inspired by like the Berlin gay sex club I don't need like a big straight person like telling me what like the Berlin sex clubs like yeah oh right and he's read the room I always find that stuff like kind of disrespectful when people like reference gay sex culture I find it I find it disrespectful they're wearing a leash because of something I just learned about called puppy play right gay guys
Starting point is 00:31:22 like it's like when like Sienna Miller and like Alexa Chung like it was like all about like it was like it was like harness but they were like tiny tiny harness like really thin remember what was the who made it it was the woman with like a weird name it was really tiny and at least Zana where to work like I'm working because I'm like kind of in bondage I'm not like a no I'm not like a girly girl I have a little I know I'm a receptionist but like I'm I used to sort of think that about Zana and I'm friends with her I know her and it used to bug me a little bit in the beginning because of
Starting point is 00:32:15 that like gay reference but then I'm like okay like let me just like chill out I'll let it go let's give it to her and like at least she's like consistently done that she like still yeah that's her thing she's the harness I was also partying with a lot of gay guys and they all loved it so we I love to take my shirt off at the gay bar and keep my heart you know she just did like she's evolved at least that is evolved and like whatever the VMA is like I can't even think of who was performing but they were like wearing like a weird leather outfit and it turns out it was all Zana I remember that I can't was it
Starting point is 00:32:54 Lady Gaga actually maybe it was Lady Gaga yeah I mean yeah Nicola like is notorious for like using young designers and giving them careers and I guess now that he's back with Lady Gaga I feel like he's just going back to those old designers because maybe like new designers all suck all suck in there maybe don't want to work in that world should we talk more about Givenchy no no let's talk about me me let's talk about me me I want to hear what the girls have to say before I say what I say I want to say I'm I'm gonna get yelled out for this and people are gonna pile on me but the saddest thing about the
Starting point is 00:33:42 fashion industry right now is people trying to make Kate Moss's daughter Lila happen opening the Mew Mew show relax yeah opening and closing she's this is like a girl she's misguided pretty and charming strictly on account of her youth she has none of the sexual charisma star power of her mother she's a normal kid who should be left alone so not that young how old is she I thought she was like 16 is your 16 oh she's not oh she's 16 so she should retire they're a 14 year old Russian girl Dasha she had this Hayden Panintera vibe which I don't like no Hayden like that I love Hayden Pantera cuz she's like a
Starting point is 00:34:32 basic bitch gymnast from New Jersey like a stocky gymnast spot yeah very short fingers to which I despise yeah one time a bit when I was in Japan a drunk businessman told me I look like Hayden that's like their only solely because you're a white yeah Kate Moss's daughter charmless I'll say it yeah Kate Moss is a like once in a millennium ethereal beauty to me I think she legend icon we don't need to the story the story goes with it too exactly Kate Moss was like the first of that world to be so embraced by like the like the Amazon's like Naomi Campbell like loads Kate Moss even though she came in and she
Starting point is 00:35:20 was the end she was only popular because she was the antithesis of these like super model glamazon just like this like five seven scrawny like she just had a thing that nobody else has she was legitimately weird-looking this girl looks normal but boring it's and it's sad I mean because what Kate Moss had was like a story and a lore I think she just has sexual charisma which the face okay I'm pulling up a picture I'm not gonna rate the lila Moss pretty beautiful she's a very pretty girl normal wrong with her I think it's like a I think it's like a Lisa Rinna daughter situation like Delilah Bell and whoever they like they
Starting point is 00:36:11 like dying to be like models like high fashion models and I'm just like you're not like you're not gonna you're not you're never gonna be a high fashion model but like maybe I'm wrong because like I feel like they have this sort of same youthful sex appeal as this girl has that maybe she's shorter than Kate Moss that's come on so she's like five five or something right cuz Kate Moss is not that tall she's five seven yeah I mean it's nepotism at its like finest what do you think of like Cindy Crawford's daughter again boring you know I guess she's made herself very visible to me yeah I'm more kind of like oh Kaia Gerber
Starting point is 00:36:52 yeah she's more earned her place in my conscious baby food era I think I think the only the only girl of that crop my unpopular opinion who has what it takes to be a high fashion model that rivals the supermodels is Bella Hadid and she has a ton of work done it's not even her real self right but she has that look like that's like super athletic like kind of hyper feminine whatever but not girlish like she looks like a yeah she hit the she hit the the the surgery lottery yes she looks great like she definitely had a face lift at like 22 and it like looks smart yeah good yeah yeah the no job is good yeah early on and
Starting point is 00:37:41 now her face is like yeah yeah she looks fantastic because if you watch those old episodes of real houses at Beverly Hills like Yolanda Hadid's first season on Beverly Hills if you watch that you see a lot of her as a teenager with a sort of prepping Gigi to like go to New York and model and like Bella's kind of like in the background being like can I can I use your room can I use your computer like and she kind of is you kind of go like oh she's obviously not the model of the family you know you see it that she's just not the quote-unquote pretty one yeah but boy did she blow her sister out of the water I know and I
Starting point is 00:38:20 like Gigi I do too I like the Hadid sisters in general I like Muhammad or Anwar the son he's but um he's very cute yeah he's cute but okay Yolanda is a professional fashion model I mean I don't know the Kaia Gerber to like absolutely does nothing for me I get that she's she's Cindy Crawford she's not Cindy Crawford Cindy Crawford had the thing that Susan talks about which is she had like 10% androgyny which is what brings you over the top mm-hmm Kaia Gerber is like a cute baby girl yeah do you remember Cindy Crawford's son I don't I can't think of his name and I know that like a lot of things have
Starting point is 00:39:01 happened with this boy Susan Susan wait what is on tag did I just say Karen and I was then Paul's are talking but I was still kind of like my friend Susan from accounting Susan from accounting loves her like what no no but say the sun me Cindy Crawford's son is legitimately gorgeous he was a gorge and nobody talks about yeah I don't even know what he had long like bleach blonde hair gorgeous face he's the attractive child in that family I mean they're both so much more above attractive than most people but of course in that lottery talking like supermodel while we're pitting siblings
Starting point is 00:39:44 attractive it's about having something like Genesis quaw if you will let's look up the Sun some isn't this we're coming back to me oh yeah we have to talk about me let's talk about me while I pull up the Sun you good I want I want the girls take on me move because me me was such a girls brand like men shouldn't even talk about me because it has nothing to do with us I respect that I liked it and then kind of was doubting my liking it because I was like ooh like I always like it because they're just pandering I like it's like candy or cute girl cute oh cute 90s cute y2k halter top cute
Starting point is 00:40:27 cute plaid nice tasteful plaid like my mind was I was very stimulated my like receptors like the way I felt when I went to Japan also where I'm like oh like bows bows bows I just really love like shit like that so much yeah the shoes were foggy what were the shoes are they really I love the shoes they were like the y2k heels sneaker okay heel soccer shoes but I like soccer shoes with a little skirt suit as a concept yeah I'll say I could see a lot of pieces already on the real real yeah I was like already like seeing them on the runway I'm showing I'm showing the sun is the androgynous are the family the sun
Starting point is 00:41:14 should just be a runway model did he get fat what happened he's something something I forget there was some story he's probably isn't him and he's obviously like still attractive yeah yeah but he looks better than kaya like he has he new mu is going to look so good on Jeffrey star it's like that is the ideal customer I I like me you I've always liked me you know this collection looked like one of my favorite designer collections which is Tori Tori Birch sport yeah it's very this it's like sock I don't know sports but soccer or like we're also like athletic like riding jacket jackets and like tennis
Starting point is 00:42:06 yeah high-octane that movie I always find it weird when I see like a sport stadium as a set because I think of like Givenchy and when Ricardo T she did it for Givenchy I thought it was like racist just like you came up racist to me did me music racist but Mew Mew didn't seem Mew Mew okay work when Ricardo T she does it it's racist and when Mew Mew does it it's not racist I like to zoom wall of it girls yeah that was cute yeah that was smart to me I like in your question your Apple Notes app thing you told that you asked it what we thought of like a straightforward collection versus a show versus a video and I got
Starting point is 00:42:51 to say I'm like runway show all the way yeah energy is like electric of like looking you have to look you have to look you have to make like the same way judgments about it no like you want to sit in the front we're like part of fashion is like that like hyper kind of like vigilant attitude to me and that's what's so exciting about fashion and runway shows is like who's in the front row we're all looking we're watching we have a limited amount of time to like look at these garments and process them in this in the purest way that they're meant to be yeah yeah I'm with you I don't I don't really like love the
Starting point is 00:43:28 conceptual videos or like the presentation photos or anything like that it's like well the photos you have to look you have to have you have to see the collection I get it but I'm a little bit on the opposite hmm Patrick okay Patrick you know he talks about when Patrick talks about runway shows he makes me fall in love with them yeah vibe of it like but I think that like working in fashion I know the the price of all of those things like the runway like who's in the runway how much you pay to have certain people in the runway how much that venue costs how much each model costs like all of that stuff I
Starting point is 00:44:05 just see the number racking up in my brain and and it goes so high that much the cost I mean a ball park venue a venue is $50,000 at Cow Slaughter $10 Cow Slaughter doesn't have $50,000 so they show in the park on SX Street you know what I mean which I like these creative guerrilla style shows like it's still the format see I think that looks cheap though like what I see like these the shows in the I'm sorry when I say like this show isn't like these the parks is that I'm like oh this is kind of cheap like I don't yeah it's like MNC in at Cow Slaughter I'm like not a big fan of at Cow Slaughter auto linger all of
Starting point is 00:44:52 the kind of like Y project runoff type labels that are like it's like fashion it's like the kind of like when they made you glue noodles to construction paper in kindergarten I know what you mean but I I know you are I'm gonna not say anymore but no it's just like no you can't I don't care I feel like a lot of my mall I feel like they're like a lot of they did I modeled years ago and they photoshopped my mall off very avant-garde and I they would never do that Cindy fucking crock just cuz my mall was a little misshapen like like they're I they're all part of this like age of designers that are kind of like the
Starting point is 00:45:40 daughters of like this magazine you know yeah I don't like I just like design houses whatever brands rubbing it in your face how like low effort and remedial their collections are the lot of jeans are made very well they're nice yeah and so they're not poorly made the at Cow Slaughter garments and they did that collab with OGS whatever I'm not I appreciate like young designers that like I kind of know socially I appreciate like they're doing a collection each season when they probably have a lot of things stacked against them and they continue to do the collection am I if I'm not I'm not such a fan of the
Starting point is 00:46:23 at Cow Slaughter aesthetic but I mean of course I'm not like I like it's not your thing yeah it's just it's just not my my thing but I understand I really like Charlotte Knowles who's oh yeah okay the course I love Charlotte I really I've bought in several so okay do you know we hired Charlotte to do she designed helmet line with us oh okay and you can see it in like the sort of the thin bra strap yeah I have those like front unhooking bras like I really invested in some Charlotte Knowles pieces she's like nerdy and gorgeous I bet yeah she looks like but I believe that I I like yeah I think I like Charlotte
Starting point is 00:47:11 Knowles I remember it's like the kind of like acid washed floral thing that's her right yeah I mean she just graduated went straight to helmet Lang I think I think Akeem Smith recommended her to helmet to us Shane and then I guess she went back she went back to London and you know her career started like blowing up because it's because okay because she designs the way a girl wants to look yeah but that's what's interesting like girls want to look like that you want to like be sexy and it not be like a Victoria's Secret bra you want it to be like yeah like really sexy and that's so hard to come by it's like impossible to
Starting point is 00:47:57 come by I look at fat this is like my biggest beef with fashion because you look at it and you're like who is this for like who wants to wear Tom Brown right not me no but like it's that the last collection so yeah obviously the plant the skirt and blazers the only people I see wearing Tom Brown are the people that work for Tom Brown yes and I have a good PR and my thing with the school girl aesthetic which I love by the way in which I think Dasha pulls up very well it's like you don't fuck with the classic formula no high low hams no like funky styling decisions just do it like the Japanese and British people do like
Starting point is 00:48:30 super formula like prep school tweed blazer heavy wool accordion skirt like you don't have to like I don't mind the high low okay I like the details but I hate the incessant like blue red white kind yes yeah I think that that that their design detail which is that that red white and blue ribbon I think that that like kills otherwise cool yeah I also like the J. W. Anderson like stupid anchor logo thing well J. W. Anderson I think is I I don't like J. W. Anderson I never have I don't like Lou Avae I've never really liked anything they've done what's the deal with Lou Avae well I just want to say that that what Tom Brown
Starting point is 00:49:15 Tom Brown falls in this category for me that's like Tom Brown Vivian Westwood Rick Owens I just say I wanted to invite it to any fashion show anything I've said here I'll take back yeah but those are the designers I like let have a pass every season like it's like go to I'll always let go to have a pass because I don't need them to be trendy I don't need Tom Brown to be trendy I just want to they just keep doing the same thing which I like appreciate and like that's how I feel about Rick Owens like that whole aesthetic is so kind of foreign and off
Starting point is 00:49:49 putting to me but like he's been doing the same the Rick Owens it was cool it's like an MIA video or something well it hit the right kind of like I felt with COVID everyone was kind of like they were either going to morbid or to like pretending it doesn't exist yeah and Rick Owens did a very nice kind of like it's apocalyptic but it's okay he's one of the only designers that did face coverings yeah I know I think because everyone has this kind of optimism about spring 2021 where they like are hoping that we won't have to maybe wear face coverings we can wear ball gowns again exactly so Rick Owens had some
Starting point is 00:50:30 like nice COVID realism if you will I don't know why you girls specifically aren't I mean it will come I I'm very sure it will come like we did being embraced by no whatever you you would you haven't been embraced the way you're going to be embraced like I I don't know nobody fucks with me and I have girls DMing me all the time like you were on a mood board here and but they will Balenciaga actually got in touch with me and asked me to like submit modeling photos for this show and I did but I'm too short and also don't live in Europe I can't you're obviously on both of you are on fucking mood boards as someone
Starting point is 00:51:09 who makes mood boards and sends mood boards and receives mood boards I've probably I mean you're on every I mean you're obviously both of your own every mood board the thing is every mood boards being sent out right now thing is the invites yeah where's where's our front row mew mew no the other thing is the fashion world is very conservative yeah I've known people who have like let's say like reasonable remarks were taken way out of guns sorry go ahead no but I think like the reality of it is like the other very politically conservative a b they don't really fuck with anybody who's not kind of like
Starting point is 00:51:54 nepotistically in a certain social scene and like we're not and it's fine I don't really care about being discovered by fashion but also like me in particular I'm just like literally too short it's the tragic I'm not trying to walk in the show both of you are so delusional about like the way people see you I think because actually you're like nine feet tall in your selfies because you're so thin like you're definitely not like too short for anything also like no models are everything's about unconventional casting I know which but okay I have a big beef with that too no like going against going against people
Starting point is 00:52:34 such as myself who would actually have an opportunity to like work adjacently in fashion now I don't like it I'm really into the aspirational like unbelievably beautiful unattainable supermodel thing and I think that needs to come back like I don't like to see attainable and unesthetic bodies fine they have a concept yeah just like it's all about concept I guess but like just randomly having like maybe well maybe it's because people started getting so aesthetically beautiful by like getting like little slight fillers no like lips a little bit bigger that maybe it's more aspirational to look like
Starting point is 00:53:16 ugly yet now it is like maybe look weird but like I also have a huge beef with that like the Instagram model weird it's not about being just like the hot it's not the hottest girls it's like about being like beautiful looking but interesting but not but like unattainable somehow and like so few people I don't want to see girls with normal bodies yes ever yeah sorry and I was thinking about this in terms of like kind of like the pageant circuit which is like the dark underbelly or inverse of fashion somebody posted a side-by-side of like Miss Azerbaijan and Miss Armenia on Twitter and people were debating which
Starting point is 00:53:55 one was hotter and I was like well neither they're like both conventionally attractive but they have the same plastic surgeon you don't know what either of these women actually looks like and if you're gonna talk about pageants which are meant to represent the specific ethnic beauty of nations you have to represent your tribe you know you can't look like Instagram face is that how pageants still work though like no they don't look like what's happening in pageantry I think it's just oligarchs running their girlfriends well that's where we have to we're gonna wear a beautiful gown yeah right I think that
Starting point is 00:54:38 yeah I guess a lot of this gonna be attributed to Walter and like Midland agency oh yeah that was one of your questions what was the question Midland is still like I mean Midlands Midlands do you remember when Midland got all wrapped up with the Epstein yes I do what was that was it the Rachel Guinness Rachel Chandler that Midland is basically a pedophile catalog because the models all look it's not but I I I don't want to talk about that but it's not and poor Rachel Chandler what happened to her was like very very terrible like that was really what happened well basically she during the she got like
Starting point is 00:55:16 fucking docked basically like you know and yeah yeah like you and on people weird photos of her like with Bill Clinton like on the Epstein plane emerge I mean wasn't Darcy Wilder on the Epstein plane yeah a lot of people were on that plane doesn't indicate anything either way but like a lot of because a lot of modeling agents were in cahoots with Epstein to provide him with teen pussy right it's very damning I see I see associated but Midland of course is not a pedophile catalog I mean Midland emerged from Walter Walter's work with Hood Bayer right because Walter used to be you know we used to have a casting
Starting point is 00:56:01 director in the past that I won't say his name because he's a horrible person but then wall was what was sort of his assistant I don't want to like downplay Walter like he was his assistant you know he was like kind of helping him and then it was like well let's get rid of him and like let's just work with Walter because Walter is a young weird ugly hot genius you know who by the way I know nothing about this guy I know that he provides Leia with her weird looking plants that's a Walter Pierce creation right there oh yeah he has like a weird plant thing he like grows his shrooms yeah he wants to fuck Dasha like crazy
Starting point is 00:56:40 that night I was texting it as weird things I know he was texting me from your phone I know I remember I was just pretending it wasn't happening he walks in I invited him that's the fashion surprise so but the Midland thing well the agency it was street casting ugly hot people that was their innovation yes but I mean we're still mostly skinny sort of the outside is saying ugly hot but when you're when you're there in the room casting them you're just like oh my god I've never seen a nose like that like we have to have that you know it's never like it's never like oh she's ugly this is cool
Starting point is 00:57:24 she's so hippie it's never like Margella models are like legitimately some of them are legitimately like unpleasant off-putting looking I'm sorry I'm gonna go there but yeah okay to me as like a person who's like into fashion and also looks weird ugly hot is just hot like Serge Gainsburg is hotter than River Phoenix always right it's not a novelty in my mind that's like my personal you know I understand yeah I would be like I actually box Serge Gainsburg yes yeah yeah and whereas like you know I I I definitely saw the need and like diversity in casting I think a lot of what happened like specifically right
Starting point is 00:58:05 now and like last season there is such a need for diversity casting that I think that it went so far the other way like where they're like oh like we need black people we need the blackest people we can most African blackest skin we can find like that's their diversity clothes look great on black people yeah well yeah but I'm looking at Balmain right now and I'm looking at neon these bright neon colors on the darkest black people they can possibly find and I think that that I think that putting black people in colors like this after a while is racist racist no Dior men racist putting a jumper with the portrait of a black
Starting point is 00:58:48 man on a black man is racist it felt cringy and racist and over the top I did not like it and like I'm usually like very unoffensable kind of like non-plussed by this kind of stuff and yeah this but all the all the whites and greys all the white girls are in greys all the white people are wearing greys and look as soon as a black person comes a pop of a pop of neon like acid green like okay great they look they do look better on black people because we're so used to seeing like them at like Carnival and like they're obviously better they're better at things than we are like they're better at like a beautiful like cool festive street festival than we are but
Starting point is 00:59:32 like it doesn't mean you need to like I just like totally loathe this entire show is my least favorite because a white person this is my least show as well it's so ugly I think all mine is is is historically terrible for me we don't need to see three of the same train mail top with like denim Bermuda shorts you can totally see Kim Kardashian stuffing her termite queen body into this three months from now and she's not gonna look like that it's like a house gene actually oh I actually have something specific I wanted to ask you about which this is vaguely that's more of like a yeah I don't mind this like this this
Starting point is 01:00:17 trompe l'oeil draped yeah but do we need three of them no but this I like because I come from a fashion background of like craft yeah so I see this as like oh this is a cool this is cool this is a cool craft I've never seen and it's on a runway so I think it's cool but I don't like him I don't like his aesthetic I never liked his aesthetic I I want to ask you about something specific which is the something I've noticed a lot in this latest season which is the double pants it looks like you're wearing two pairs of pants one pair of pants and then another when did that start okay like I hate that I keep saying keep bringing
Starting point is 01:01:02 this up but I mean that's hood by air hood by air made up wearing the double two pants I mean yeah it's referencing like sag it's referencing like it's referencing like like your boxers sagging down below your ass and then like your jeans are there so at hood by air like pity oh moe are we did you make up the double pants are you telling me I did not I designed into Shane's idea to do this so I've designed a lot of this but Shane it was it was originally Shane's idea I mean I'm sure you can go back and you could find it in Margiela and you could find it in goatee and you could find it in these designers but I think
Starting point is 01:01:41 when someone black from Brooklyn reemerges a double sag pant you know that was obviously a big fashion moment it wasn't going on in fashion and it's clearly a brown like a why project exists because a brown like hood by air yeah already did these weird fashion mistakes you know we're not gonna put one it's like we're not gonna put one waistband and we're gonna put nine waistbands you know I like the double pamp I I do too it's cute I also like the one thing that I will give Balmain credit for is they did have very kind of conventionally attractive hyper tanned models with like beach hair which
Starting point is 01:02:32 is like very fitting for their brand like they couldn't pull off the Walter Pierce aesthetic right I like that they kind of like stick to their kind of true authentic self and also it didn't look socially distanced at all there was like 300 people on the runway at all times Chanel yeah a lot of Chanel well Chanel Chanel had like the biggest fashion show space I've ever seen and then all the audience was like cramped yeah I almost was like am I watching the wrong season did you like Chanel I thought I didn't love Chanel I saw some of what is it can somebody show me the Chanel cuz I didn't even look at it I
Starting point is 01:03:14 totally forgot it's very it's fashion month over is no we're still we're waiting for things to happen what are we waiting on we're waiting for saline I think everyone's waiting for I wrote fuggly Olympics watching Chanel and I know it so it seems like I really don't like it but when I look when I think back on it I don't get it let me scroll through it do a scroll it's not for me to even get and it's not even for me to even critique it's like Chanel Chanel Chanel Chanel Chanel Chanel like it's just we get it like it's yeah I mean like you can actually tear that like yeah like Eric Romer yeah it does yeah kind of like rich people resort mm-hmm vibe that was nice but then
Starting point is 01:04:02 actually some of the the it doesn't themselves for it yeah like from my angle of looking at it like a tweed off the one I don't like to eat right they had a model who was like not she wasn't plus size but she was like she had a very normal body and in the context of the other models I was like we don't need to we don't need to shame people but I was like okay we've literally singled out so many people you literally said horrible objectionable unconscionable things about poor lilamas who's like 13 or 14 she's seriously gonna turn out to be like 23 or something I think she I'm honestly
Starting point is 01:04:45 don't can someone find out exactly yeah I'm running the fact I don't like to mock underage people okay I want to talk about I want to say this trend oh I thought we're gonna do Chloe but yeah Louis Vuitton putting vote on the runway which we've seen like too many times but also skate and skate and boat and I'm square I'm a fat fan of the Ben Mora collection which says don't vote wait her full name is Lila Grace Moss hack yeah I know what if came at Moss was a hag but let's find out okay we could say whatever the fuck we want to say old bitch and she makes her fashion week
Starting point is 01:05:41 debut me this was her first lots of people are writing about it with a pick of Kate Moss you don't need I don't know why they keep it's like Lila Moss walk fashion I don't know even they shouldn't even put the the faces side by side because then you're automatically looking for comparisons exactly I mean I think she's she's a beautiful girl I think she didn't open and close their show we're we're we're being more critical on her face when if we saw her face I think if I saw her face like she's literally fine she's just like not Kate Moss she's not right and it's very tight right so you can't help but make
Starting point is 01:06:29 the comparison because that's like why she's even on a runway like would she have been scouted in the street no she wouldn't be found in a ditch like Kate Moss came out she would be like a yoga pants fitness model mm-hmm who are like Kurt Geiger shoes in London wait is Kyle walking runways who's Kyle Kyle girl oh yeah I haven't seen her at any show she's not trying to she doesn't seem to have as high fashion aspiration hi I was in the last show I think I had heard this is I had heard about like Bella and Bella is that she decided she wasn't going to go to Paris this season because she wanted to keep opportunities open
Starting point is 01:07:25 for like young grandma like she just I think Bella thought it was kind of disrespectful for her to go to Paris and take away like that spot from like people that were already there so she did the Fenty show which probably paid way warm show well they probably did the Fenty show last year like before social distancing we don't know when her and like Erica Jane and we're like blowing lines at an Amazon studio red bull studio okay so the voting thing who all stood the voting thing I mean we saw it at our trip to Bloomy yeah I can't think of like a one shirt one dress at a vote all over it it's really annoying
Starting point is 01:08:09 it's just our face mask in one I just an ugly word it's that it looks bad it looks bad it means something gross and it's so prominent like okay so you're opening the show with a shirt with a shirt that's never gonna even go into production because it's gonna come out in March yeah it's like a puffy painted vote shirt and it's just like such a waste of disgusting yeah all the all the shirts that have been produced that say Bo are such a contributor to climate change I don't even want to think about it like all the paraphernalia like a little arm tennis bands and coosies RBG crap like magnet stickers by the way
Starting point is 01:08:54 we should talk about our merch red scare collection anyway are we gonna are we gonna talk about it today is this the official unveiling we don't have to unveil I'm just saying audio meeting Paul's helping us with our first red scare merch drop so mm-hmm what else Fenty we could rap with Fenty and then talk about some other crap we can talk about Fenty I mean we could talk about Fenty fruit we'll probably finish talking about Fenty and maybe I'm like a minute and a half yeah I won't oh I really like the Martin rose show that one did it for me because it remind me I always like Martin she was like a vet
Starting point is 01:09:35 monster right mm-hmm she's she's she's cool she's like a daughter I always think of her she's like a you know a daughter of diss yeah and a really great way but it's it's yeah the the aesthetic is slightly less DIY which I like it's a little bit more professional I always confuse Martin rose with marine serr which is like a really hideous brand that throws like those hideous moon logos and everything oh I don't even know wait her the concept is like the cam girl outside farm yeah that's also a hazy thing and hazy shot Givenchy too but it's really good it reminds you of like the hype Williams era of like hip-hop
Starting point is 01:10:16 videos and hip-hop photography and like that's like my highest point for fashion it's like the Wu Tang triumph video you know when they're wearing leather like there's a better runway show than any ever made and like you know like bone thugs and whatever and it reminded me kind of of that and also like the way mace foxy brown the firm I like square-toe loafers I like the female model who literally looked a little foxy brown is could be probably look good in the D squared show yeah I like I also like I love I'm a corny check I love D squared me too I have a really great D squared shrunken racer leather jacket
Starting point is 01:10:56 that I got they're really they're really good at that at that world honestly Balmain does a good blazer too they do yeah I don't do this I don't I don't do that shoulder the Balmain not this collection but in you know every time I put on a Balmain blazer I've been like almost worth it it's like $3,000 well I mean I mean yeah like a good fit blazer on a gorgeous girl is like never had bad thing never goes like but like are you gonna wear that's very cute Malaysian Etsy store why are all the best vintage pieces in Malaysia in Malaysia I have no idea all the best Morrissey t-shirts all the best like vintage uh-huh I got a
Starting point is 01:11:44 another DR jacket from Malaysia also smelled like a dead guy when I got in a dry clean but like this was like $70 took like four weeks to come but very happy which is cool because that's I think what designers like Balenciaga do is like they make you you don't even need to buy like no one needs like even needs to buy Balenciaga because you could just buy it vintage you buy the reference they already have like yeah I never buy designer clothing unless it's like on the real rare real or like yukes at like a cut rate price or yet yeah sometimes but like vintage or no no it's new it's new and it's like for
Starting point is 01:12:24 rich Korean people like all you know it's like but the shell brings you know it's like I'm like I can have this in like a day there really is something nice about having something in a day so many purchases I regret but a lot of Charlotte Nils purchases but I don't you can return though you can return it's kind of hard because you have to summon the DHL essential worker to your door and he's like hacking you have to have tape somehow a lot of ungrilled I like we'll just think of something at like 2 a.m. and I'll just start like incessantly like offering I'm an offeror like I don't ever want to pay the price
Starting point is 01:13:06 there I'll always offer make offers I'm like if I get it I get it and if I don't I don't but I don't really like to pay full price unless I really want it I'm but I like I'm an Etsy freak farfetched real real this is real real Etsy a lot beyond Etsy these are real real these are saline oh yeah I like those yeah penny loafer heels yeah like a good rest of penny loafer like I'm wearing Amazon jeans and what's an Amazon gene like a gene Amazon brand okay wow it's they look good great they're great jeans they're really well-fed they're like really really quality denim they're made in the same factory that makes the
Starting point is 01:13:59 Fenty so nice yeah they're like really great jeans they're always where my go to for sweatsuits which I own I wear a lot of sweatsuits I wear a lot of sweat pants a lot of crew neck sweatshirts yeah Paul's also wearing a gold chain in a do rat yeah I'm wearing two gold chains two gold chains this one's new yeah really where do you get your gold chains this is eight eight millimeters solid 14k yeah do rock Amazon by the way I saw you tweeted recently are you the only yellow gold I feel like you would look at in platinum and silver I only wear silver mainly I don't wear jewelry though it's like too much for me I only
Starting point is 01:14:57 wear my cross yeah you have to wear the cross because yeah I don't feel safe when I take it off honestly I know I've worn a orthodox cross my entire life yeah so you can't take it off yeah I take it off like to get a massage or if I have to like go shower in it yeah oh whoa okay is that gonna be one of your when you do Vogue 70 what does 72 questions that's gonna be one of your get real should we talk about Fenty yeah I mean I turned on Fenty another brand of her well it was call I okay because she keeps all our brands I think are separate Fenty so I don't think LVMH owns like I don't think LVMH owns the
Starting point is 01:15:49 makeup this is all L as I'm learning for me with LVMH is really the kind of long it's there they're the ultimate puppet master you know the queen of LVMH is who he's married to oh hi it's a Francois Pinot how lucky is this woman wow she really locked out she really locked out I mean she deserves it for being like incredibly having extremely large breasts triple D breath no but that's insane yeah and like the other big brand is caring right Balenciaga is caring mm-hmm okay that's that's all I know about the business it's just LVMH you know Ella I I don't know this for sure but I think they own Fenty which is
Starting point is 01:16:35 her high fashion line but I don't think they own the makeup and I'm not sure if they own Savage lingerie line because there's no way anybody wants to own that but I think Amazon owns it yeah maybe Amazon owns it yeah it's a Jeff Bezos collab right it's only available there it's so I'm a big Rihanna fan I when she announced a lingerie line I was like sign me up for that mailing list can't wait to see not one like I'm embracing myself for how bad Savage X Fenty would be because I've I open these emails that's how I that's I've been about blackout Tuesday or whatever when everyone started posting the black box because of my Fenty emails
Starting point is 01:17:22 but they're all they're disgusting everything is hideous and it was so pathetic watching all these like creative directors like bend over backwards like these like timid white people being like yeah Rihanna she has a fabric innovator she likes quality it's like no she doesn't she's a hot girl with good personal style it stops there it's a rainbow store it looked like rainbow lingerie at the rainforest cafe it was I didn't like the first season I don't like the second season I don't like I don't like that kind of lingerie I don't think everyone looks good in like crazy strappy lingerie but what you're
Starting point is 01:17:59 saying about her these like the before the show started anytime there's like a celebrity designer or like or like a hype designer like that gets like ridicule like a Virgil like yeah or Rihanna like they always feel that they need to prove something in these faux documentaries where they're like cutting fabric or like no it's like you know squinting and like pinning something it's like you're not cutting fabric samples girl like you're not pinning you're not you're not doing the fitting what is stretch lace she was like oh and no one's done a lace what was it like a tiger lace or something no one's ever done a tiger man literally
Starting point is 01:18:47 like pink by Victoria's Secret does it every year and like it looks it looks like about like pink by Victoria's Secret level it looks worse it looks worse it's like it looks like rainbow it looks like you get it and there's like Avenue which is either it's either a genius way to go or a stupid way to go but it looks like leg Avenue it's like fishnet yeah yeah fishnet blue electric blue you know and then like also I went into a really disgusting sex shop recently that was like because they had like costume like let's see I was like maybe I'll find that's your favorite fashion as like cosplay I love laundry
Starting point is 01:19:30 that's the star that's isn't the start of your career basically I love laundry I love cosplay no secret here but I guess I went in and it was like all leg Avenue like dog shit fucking horrible shit and literally like bestiality porn oh my god discuss right now it was really like and then I heard there was like horrible sounds emitting from the back where they had some kind of like it was like video it was like very that's what happens you have to compete with the internet fucking kill animals like it felt like hardcore like I mean it is gonna be a really major when a brand collaborates with leg Avenue yeah there's
Starting point is 01:20:26 so many yeah no but it this this whole like I didn't watch the Fenty show and I just want to say before I forget because I said this to you guys over text big Sean was a hundred percent wearing a prosthetic six pack it was literally glued on and slightly darker than his normal skin tone it was really fake and I'm shocked nobody clocked it because everybody was really upset about her using like that Arabic song or whatever I fast forward or the blowback yeah I don't even I didn't even see back big Sean's abs was it like a poly D like a like are you sure it was an airbrush I think it was like a piece of like I think
Starting point is 01:20:59 it was like a silicon or latex prosthetic yeah so fake no I'm serious it looked fake as hell and then like I believe you the video itself was like it looked more like an award show than a fashion show it was like very like bodies and spaces for normies you know I thought the spaces were too big I thought it was I don't I don't I'm not interested in like the Fosse the Fosse reference like I I'm kind of over that it's like I don't need John Galliano to be like I it's like singing in the rain like we get we get we get it yeah but it is mass market and I do okay but I do and maybe you guys feel completely
Starting point is 01:21:48 opposite of me but I actually love Savage Fenty casting I love I love like fine morbidly obese women I'm like long empty lunch or me like I love the casting is on water fine yeah it's high camp but I think that they should not be allowed to talk because that whole like it's so platitudinous it's like fashion is about story telling so fat but it's not even that it's them going like you have to own your sexuality sexuality is empowering it's like we just like the first try on sexuality like lingerie storytelling is the last part of any journey is the first thing that Rihanna says in Savage X Fenty and I was like
Starting point is 01:22:34 what does that even fucking mean like and it's like I love Rihanna I love but when she taught like I don't it's insulting I don't want to hear Rihanna talk about fashion I like really don't yeah I mean I don't even know I want to talk I want to hear her talk about like eating pussy or like smoking blunts or whatever she does for fun bodyguards bald head I don't want to hear her talk about how she sources fabrics from like the bazaars of Morocco or you don't we have eyes they look like and I like hate hate hate Cara Delevingne because she's like I'm just like an alien a weirdo I'm just a little strange isn't she like oh I'm
Starting point is 01:23:35 just a little chimney so I come in a pickpocket I just like I can't with her like fake it's a bit cringe in it I'm a little bit queer okay she's a lesbian pickpocket I think we really did we can close on it on a high note yeah I'm looking at my yeah do we have any other final my favorite part the last thing I will say about the Fenty thing my favorite part was like the Lizzo moment when there's an accidental anorexia mirror and it's like Lizzo on one end and like a really skinny fit dancer girl and the other and I was like oh they did not like that classic I know I wish Lizzo made I wish Lizzo made let's close on
Starting point is 01:24:47 the queen I love Lizzo's fat body like I think Lizzo's fat body is like cool I think I've said this I'm not really that she like is it's like divine like totally rating down the street and female trouble like looking crazy like an eyeball falling out when you see her I don't want to see some girl with like a normal body I want to see like divine or yeah or like I want to see you like I think if we're going if we're gonna integrate plus size like let's really go for it and make the sample sizes huge and I just want to see somebody bed ridden on both sides of the spectrum somebody with like a feeding tube up
Starting point is 01:25:36 their nose okay so let's start Vivian Westwood final our finale what's this a gypsy caravan music yeah what is this she's incredible yeah I like it I bought a very I bought a beautiful Vivian Westwood top in Paris that I still bleach all over one of the sleeves you made it more you still use it you can still I still wear it's dark green so the bleach kind of made it orange the jewel yeah but I'm a I am a fan of Vivian Westwood I love the corsets I loved when she did as a teen I used to dream of buying the she made these like rubber heels in like 2007 or 8 or something and I like they
Starting point is 01:26:52 were Melissa Hills look the Westwood Melissa Hills oh really okay yeah that makes sense I coveted them in high school I thought they were so cool and I really have all because I'm I have a punk ethos same I'll never have anything really bad to say about Vivian Westwood I'll always like look forward to her shows and love her because she like literally invented punk fashion which I could I'll forever appreciate I think that like what bothered me is the protest is the protest of the protest aesthetic in her a little fashion video she was like oh using protest see it didn't start that way but then it took a protest
Starting point is 01:27:40 return she's but she's been getting there for so many years like when she burned her archive do you guys remember a few years ago when she burned her archive I'm like a barge she like set the barge on fire it was like this whole like no event where she burned her entire archive for like a political statement I actually thought the statement I don't I actually don't even remember I think it was like when I'm at their punk collection was about like consumerism and you don't need to own all these clothes but I just it hurt knowing like she's burning archives so she's burning like bondage from the
Starting point is 01:28:17 70s like that like hurt to know that like those are like being burned yeah we're all consumerists I have nothing to say about Vivian Westwood and that's not a dig I have nothing bad or good to say about her either way this last collection was very like Bushwick for me but I respect I've never even looked at her clothes I only look at her fucking face yeah I love that she looks like like she looks like the Queen of England like for real now like she looks like a weird like old aristocratic I didn't meet her once and I thought she was not that she needed to be at all friendly to me but I thought she was kind of rude I
Starting point is 01:29:01 thought that I was with Amanda LaPore at the time I thought she was kind of weird to Amanda too I thought she was kind of rude about her about Amanda's appearance which I thought was like kind of off-putting for Vivian Westwood actually yeah it was at her dinner it's a very dated idea of punk you know that hasn't evolved really right and I feel like she looked at Amanda as like this like as like the antithesis antithesis of punk when in fact Amanda is like the most punk exactly well there's a real kind of aesthetic misunderstanding of punk that I feel has emerged in contemporary times where it's like
Starting point is 01:29:40 become aligned with liberalism or something or like when real when the sort of the embryonic idea of punk was always kind of like swastika it's like it was not it was about kind of a general alienation being other I think yeah at my core my entire philosophy at my core is punk that's what I think and I feel like all of my friends relate to that I feel like all of my friends I feel like we gravitate because I sense such an a deep punkness about both of you even though we're not like we don't have a liberty spike but we're like so deeply I swear on the mom yeah no I understood yeah me is has a punk
Starting point is 01:30:35 operation yeah and the aesthetic fundamentally is and that's what we went when me and Patrick started not really we were we wanted it to be we wanted it to have a sense not even like intentional but like a punk sort of thing like oh we don't need to thank can somebody explain to me what punk you I I don't feel punk at all but I also don't know what it means to me it's like not only did I grow up in like the punk rock aesthetic and I was aesthetically like fashion punk growing up but to me punk is like always this sense of other it's always a sense of it's we're not I'm not the same as you like I look at people I'm
Starting point is 01:31:22 like I'm not like you at all you think I'm like I'm actually nothing like you I'm it has a contrarian aspect it also has kind of I don't know yeah a spirit of like rebellion freedom rebellion give me a rule and I like have to break it like I have to because it's a rule a kind of unfinished or it's hard to okay that sounds like yeah it's pretty your description to me is like pretty good it's like yeah yeah I don't like to finish things I just regard yeah traditional the feeling of the outsider like which is like I mean obviously everyone thinks like also like to say outside value conformity right but
Starting point is 01:32:19 people always lie about being an outsider like I feel like Rihanna like didn't she call herself like out an outsider in their video I don't remember but it's like Patti Smith calling herself an outsider right it's like well Patti Smith's a hack yeah her last name is actually would you ever run ads on the pod I would I guess but no one's ever off yeah and it would have to so now we're committed to this punk aesthetic we're like okay well I think Nick Mullin on come town I think he does ads in a really punk way yeah so I think it doesn't feel weird if you heard Nick Mullin like actually trying to sell
Starting point is 01:33:08 boner bills or see that's punk doing a boner but if he actually got like I thought Mack Weldon I thought when they were doing Mack Welton as I like this is kind of weird like this is actually kind of underwear yeah that was kind of weird but like but he still didn't in a punk way yeah I mean it's an aesthetic fundamentally rules in my head about what's punk and what's not that's unexplainable yeah but I know it when I see it it's like camp or pornography or pornography yeah thank you so much oh yeah thank you for having me on and then yeah all your fun little listeners I know a lot of you do but if you don't
Starting point is 01:33:53 head over to patreon.com slash not really and listen to me and Patrick's podcast and be nice to us on the gays and girls red scare reddit yeah I love saying weird things about us they're too involved in Paul's replies anyway I love you girl see you and how you know
