Domestic Violence Red Flags And Safe Exit Steps
00:01 Welcome to Regina Sworn Audio Series Presents, where I bring you stories of people from all walks of life. I'm your host, Regina Sworn. Contact me at Sworn Regina at gmail.com. Now, let's take you into an episode of Regina Sworn Audio Series Presents. Hey there, I'm Regina Soren. Welcome back to another episode of Regina Soren audio series presents. This episode, I'll be speaking on domestic violence. Now, I had a few guests that were going to come on,
01:03 but at the last minute, they were so afraid to talk about their life. I'll say. And one of them was so embarrassed that she didn't want to talk about it. And one of them, her story would have been just so great for people to hear. But the trauma of domestic violence and what it had to cost her, I mean, it just really wrecked her mind. You know, psychologically, domestic violence will, even long after it happened. if you survive it, there's still things that you go through in the mind.
01:51 Can I speak on domestic violence? Absolutely. You know, when I was a teenager, I did all kinds of crazy stuff. I didn't recognize that it was domestic violence, then, rape and all kind of other stuff. But, you know, I don't want to talk about me. I want to talk about you. And I want to just talk to the ladies. out there and the guys too who are going through that.
02:19 So pull your chair up. Let's sit around. Just imagine I'm sitting right there in front of you. And we're having a conversation. Just just you and me. Just imagine it being you, me. And I'm sitting there and we're talking. And I'm listening to you.
02:40 Because it's all about listening to a person. giving them the opportunity to speak and to talk without over-talking them. Let them talk for a change. And that's what my podcast is all about, is giving a person to tell their story. So if you're not here to tell your story, then I have to tell it. So I'm just going to speak a little bit about domestic violence. Contact me at Swerin Regina at Gmail. That's my last name, then my first name, at gmail.com.
03:23 Visit my official website, Regina Sworn.com, and I would have a brand new website, second website, this week, Regina Sworn Media Hub, yay, where you can check out my posters, my pictures, yes, my real pictures, my real posters. and my blog, I will be blogging at least once a week. Maybe twice, all depends, but definitely once. So you can check out my new website, my second website this week. We came to Sworn Media Hub. Yay.
04:04 Okay, pull you care up. I said we're going to have a chat and we're going to do that. Ladies, listen to me very carefully and men too. If you are going to domestic violence right now, I want you to sit down for a moment if you're by yourself. Look up to heaven. Just look up to heaven. Just look up like you're looking up to the Lord. Look up and you repeat after me, Lord.
04:37 Please help me out of this situation. Lord, help me. I need you. Help me out of this bad situation. I'm in. Help me. Now, as you all know, ladies, men too, or maybe you don't know, a lot of people lose
05:00 their life when they are going around telling their lover or their husband, I'm going to leave you. That's when a lot of people lose their lives. Right when you give, take control back to your life,
05:18 they feel like they're losing everything. So your life at that point is in very, very much danger. So by all means, be careful. This is the time that you have to move in silence, travel in silence. Because you're being watched everything, your every move, your every moment.
05:46 They could even track your GPS on your car as one case I was reading about. Domestic violence is at an all-time high. We don't know what go on behind closed doors in people's lives. We don't. And it's so sad to me. I read of all the cases out there and about the poor girl that was pushed off of 15 stories with her baby.
06:21 I read about a guy who took us. his entire family. You know, I read so much and I cry. Because I can't really relate to that. Because I had a beautiful daddy. My dad, my father was a good man who treated our mom with the hides of respect. So I never witnessed my dad beating on my mom. I never witnessed that.
06:56 Oh, my God. calling me. I never witnessed that. I never witness anything bad ever. Never. My mom had the highest respect for my dad and my dad had the highest respect for our mom. Never a fight. Never a drop down, drag me out. I've never seen my dad fist up against my mom's head. I never seen my mom's disrespect our father ever. So I grew up in a beautiful, beautiful home. My dad taught me, you are special.
07:44 Baby, you are special. Don't ever let any man, don't ever let anybody disrespect you. My dad taught me that. He said, you see how I turn your mother? mom, you see how your mom treat me? We show each other respect. They call each
08:06 other mama and daddy. They never call each other by their names. So sweet. But my daddy taught me, he said, don't ever be, let anyone disrespect you. Ever. He said, have you ever since that someone is trying to disrespect you?
08:22 You've got to go in the beginning. Don't wait till this late, because there's going to always be those red flags. Sometimes we try to overlook it ladies. You know, the cursing you out and calling you the B word and the C word, you know, things like that. Guys, you know what I'm talking about when you're, when your woman disrespect you and fool around on you and in some cases hurt you, hit you, do things to you. Yeah, because she looked at you as a man, you're not going to hit her back.
08:57 especially if you're one of those good men. I'm talking about the good men now. Who goes to domestic violence as well? So like I said, several people would not come on here and tell their story because they were embarrassed. One lady told me she was so embarrassed. And one lady told me that she was just scared because she had all that trauma coming back to her. And I understood that. I understood it.
09:25 And again, when I was a teenager, you guys, please forgive me with all of these things. coming through. When I was a teenager, I did a lot of crazy stuff. I was very promiscuous, almost ended up in porno. I mean, I was just, I was just a horror. Just being honest with you. I did a lot of things that could have gotten me kill, but we're talking about different times, but I still could have gotten killed the things I was doing, man. You know, sleeping around and just didn't care, you know. And then I ran into this one guy who was just, his name was Billy, white guy named Billy. I loved him very much. He loved me. Had I followed down the path with Billy, because we fought each other. My dad told me, don't let anybody hit me or just somebody to make me tell, if you hit me, I'm going to hit you back.
10:21 It's what it is. So I don't want to live in that kind of relationship, so I learned very early on as a teenager. or all that I went through rape and all that kind of stuff. I learned, oh, I don't want to live the rest of my life like this. So when I turned 21 or whatever, I started doing things differently. So that was a young part of my life. But it doesn't take away from my mom and dad. They were great, great, great parents. My mom taught us about the Lord.
10:56 But me with my fast stuff out there, I'm the one that wanted to do all these things. And I paid. I paid the price. But I'm thankful to the Lord that I learned early on and did not get in a relationship at the relationship. Yeah, it could have gotten like done. That's a lot of times that's what people do. They go from one bad relationship to the next.
11:21 I do not approve men beating on women. And I do not approve women beating on men. Again, I just told you, I have the greatest parents. My mom and dad was awesome. I respected my dad. My dad was a man of a very few words. He didn't say a lot, but he had a lot of power, lots of power. And people respected my dad.
11:55 They did. But I'll never forget him say, don't ever settle for less. Don't let a man disrespect you. you. He said if they start out cursing you out and calling you names to be word, the C word, the whatever word, he said, you know then
12:13 that's a red flag and a lot of times we overlook that. And sometimes we don't overlook it. We just want to stay in a relationship. A lot of times people want to be in relationships just to say, I got a man, I don't want to be by myself. Good Lord.
12:33 You're better than that. I've seen a lot of women, they see guys, and they say, oh, he's so fine. Breaks my heart. You're better than that, ladies. A lot of times you've got your kids involved in this stuff, and they end up losing their lives because of your horniness, wanting to be with a guy, wanting to be with somebody just to say I got somebody, forgetting that you are somebody, even if you are alone.
13:13 Because it's better to be alone than to be with someone who is disrespecting you, who's beating on you, who's calling you names, and eventually who murders you and your kids. You know, in the beginning it's so beautiful. and it just breaks my heart how easy these women are to fall for these guys and then when you try to get away from them they're not going to let you do that
13:45 so if you're out here looking for love ladies listen if you're out here looking for love don't just settle and if you do find that special someone
14:03 Please, if there's any red flags, because there's no such thing as I didn't notice the red flags. No, you know. You know if someone curse you out and belittle you? You know in the beginning. Yes, you do, you know. But you want to overlook that because you want that man so bad. Please, ladies, you're better than that. You're better than that.
14:36 You know, personally I myself, I'm a very person that likes to dress modest. When I go out and I see someone just, their body parts all hanging out, like one day, a lot. I don't go out a lot because I don't like to be out in public. I just don't like to be out in a public place for too long. That's just me. Walmart, the mall. Whatever I got to do, I go do it. and then I get back to my destination.
15:10 People say, why do you do that? You're living in fear. No, I'm not. It's just a way I've always been. It's the way I've always been. I've always been, guys. And that's just the way it is. But just be careful, guys.
15:35 Please. Please be careful. I know sometimes that we feel like we got to have somebody. We just got to have that person. We got to have them. But it's heartbreaking. It really is.
16:06 It can wait. If you are in a relationship and you've gotten married, that's just sorry about everybody calling me now. Oh my God. If you're in a relationship and you've already gotten yourself in a relationship and then you notice that this person is not for you, And I'm telling you, you got to pray really, really hard.
16:29 You got to move with common sense. You got to move with, you cannot let this person know. Don't go around telling everybody, I'm going to leave you, I'm going to leave you, I'm leaving you. Don't do that. Please don't do that. You can lose your life like that, ladies, men. You can lose your life. Like I say, sometimes you're already in the relationship.
17:01 Sometimes you are. And it's heartbreaking. I know of people who are close to me, who was searching for love online. Although it was a Christian site. And I would always say, tell her, don't, don't do it, you know. God was sending you someone.
17:36 You pray and you just wait upon the Lord. The Lord was seeing you that right person. But don't just rush out. Don't do that. Please don't do it. And I think of her very often because someone that was very close to me. She ended up marrying a drunk. She didn't know that before she got in the relationship
18:09 What happened was It was another relationship that she was in That ended very bad And our pastor was still alive at the time So Two of us pray that God bring her out of that And God brought her out of that But on the rebound
18:25 It was the other guy who really She really wasn't interested in that much But he was the second He was number two Number one didn't work out So she went on to number two and boy oh boy she married this guy
18:39 and the guy hated me she let me hurry to tape one day the guy she said he has a disdain for you and she said I got into the marriage the guy was addicted to porn and didn't even sleep in the same room
18:56 but sometimes the Lord would intervene in our lives when we're in bad situations and the Lord intervened in my sister's life he intervened intervened. He intervened. My sister passed away of birth cancer in 2020, July. Never forget it. And I couldn't understand it at the time. I said, God, why? You know this is the person that I am closest to. Why? She was my partner, singing partner. We made records together.
19:33 Lord spoke to May Hart. He said, because I took her out of that situation. So a lot of people say, well, you mean God gave her breast cancer? No, I didn't say that. I just said God took her out of that situation. Because the Lord, no, my sister got that kind of heart. Well, she would have stayed there. And she deserved so much better. No, it wasn't physical.
19:57 It was verbal. Yeah, the name calling. You know, when a person get drunk, they turn into a whole other person. And she let me hurt tapes or this God. was disrespecting her, disrespecting me, talking about me, because he knew and know I'm the closest to her. And he know how she lived.
20:22 She would eventually get out of it, but God said, no, no, no, no, no. So I know a lot of you're going to hear this and say, well, you mean God gave her breast cancer and took her out? I'm not going to say what God did. I just know that God, she's in a better place now. She's with the Lord. I didn't understand that at the time. I did not understand it.

I just, I know sometimes we feel like, again, there's no hope. There's nobody else for me. Or sometimes we feel like we need to be with somebody. We gotta have somebody.
22:14 I know I keep saying the same thing over. But ladies, you're better than that. Do let someone sweet talk to you, sugar talk to you. Hey, baby, you're cute. Hey, baby, you're pretty. Don't fall for that. Don't do that, please. If you see any of the red flags I'm talking about, any of them in the beginning.
22:41 If someone in the beginning you're dating them and they snap at you and say something mean to you and call you the B word, you better get out of that relationship quickly because from that point it's going to just go down domestic violence is at an all-time high ladies, all-time high. Think of your children. Think of your babies. of your family.
23:24 I've seen people take not just the girlfriend or the wife out, but take out the whole family. Babies. Please. For God's sake. Pray and pray hard if you're trying to get into a relationship. Pray and pray hard.
23:46 Don't just settle for anything and anybody. I've seen it happen. Just to say you've got somebody. I personally am against it looking for people online. Now, that's just me. It's very successful for many, many, many people. It is. It really is. But for a lot of people, it's not.
24:12 A lot of people have lost their life out here searching on these lines for people. You don't know what you're getting. You don't know what's behind that computer wall. You don't know what's out there. people using not their picture but using someone else's pictures you don't know what you're getting into
24:35 someone to have an agenda and be the perfect person that you're looking for and then when you get into the relationship you see then that oh my God I made a mistake yeah I've seen a lot of people put themselves out there they say everything that they want the kind of guy they want
24:58 and someone out there on the other end is fixing themselves up to be that perfect guy just for you. But inside of them, there's a raging bull, a maniac. We're ready to take you out. But in the beginning, they're going to be sweet. They're going to be everything you want it. Cook your dinner, do all the things, bring your breakfast in bed, maybe even pay a few of your bills.
25:32 but they got an agenda because you put yourself out there they've already checked you out and found out what kind of person you are and take that you account your bank account checked out everything about you and then you let these people move in with you
25:54 you have control of everything some of you got kids living there and some of the older women God it bothers me about them too. You know, I'm talking to the younger women, the younger men. But then you've got the older women
26:11 that's doing this stuff. Feeling like, you gotta have you somebody as well. If your marriage is over, it didn't work, or your husband died or passed away, don't just jump yourself right into something, ladies, older women, I'm talking to you as well.
26:33 Just because a guy tell you, Ooh, you looking good. Oh, mama, you look good. Ooh! And you better run as fast as you can. Stop falling for these people that's telling you, you're looking good. Stop that. I want to scream it.
26:51 Stop it. Stop falling for that. Just because someone tell you you look good and start pumping your head up. Don't you already know that you look good? Do you need someone to tell you that? Darn it, do you need that? All I can think about is the words that my dad said to me. All I could think about was what my dad said to me, how beautiful I am, what a great person I am.
27:25 All I could think about. Oh, Jesus. My heart breaks. You guys just don't know. My heart breaks really bad. I don't know why they have a domestic violence month. Domestic violence should be every month. 12 months every out of the year should be domestic violence month because it is happening.
27:55 There is no month that someone hasn't gotten murdered because of a domestic violence. And people like to say, oh, it was just their mental health. You know what? That's probably true. But the devil and the demons are at an all-time high. And I call that devil time, demon time. So yes, you can call it domestic violence, but I call it demon time. You could call mental health, mental health.
28:28 I call it demon time, devil time, which is why you need to pray. See, a lot of people don't, they overlook the most important part. You need to pray. If you're going to get into a relationship, you need to pray about it. Don't just jump into it. And sometimes you have to pray, really. hard. I mean, not a little bit. Sometimes you have to fast and pray.
28:52 Don't eat something for to 6 o'clock. If you're on medication. I'm not a doctor now. I'm telling you these things. I'm not a doctor, but it's just an idea. Fast and pray before going into your relationship. I mean, really do it. And don't fast and pray with the person that you're with. Do it on your own because they could be saying, oh, yeah, I'm
29:16 fast and two. Ladies, stop falling for these things. People tell me that you're cute and you're pretty and stop falling for that. Please. If you don't already know that you're cute, something's wrong. It hurts my heart. I mean, there's somebody right now, I'm sure, just being taken out, murdered. Because someone got mad at them and didn't want nobody else to have them. If they could not have them, they wasn't going to let anybody else have them. So they'd take them out, take them out, take themselves out, take a kid out, they don't care. Just please be careful. Like I said, 12 months a year is domestic violence month.
30:11 Not just one little month? Just be careful, please, God, please, please be careful. I just want to come on today and talk to you and tell you, you're beautiful. Guys, that's going through that. You're amazing, you're handsome, you're wonderful. Don't settle for some woman cheating on you and belittling you and calling you names. Don't do it. You're better than that.
30:48 Stop rushing into these relationships. Stop it. If you're in a relationship and you already got into it, please move with wisdom in silence. Be careful. Watch your words. Watch what you say. Watch your actions. Yeah, watch the things you say. Don't go around packing bags. I'm going to move. I'm going to do this. That is a dangerous time to do that. Because when they feel like they're not going to have any more control over you, that is the most dangerous time when you get ready to leave. Because they feel then they're losing control of you. So travel inside. Let us do not go and do these things and make a big stink about it. Get online.
31:46 I'm leaving him. Oh, my God. I've seen that happen. People get online talking about what they're going to do. And I'm in a heated argument, getting angry, talking about what I'm going to do. That's a dangerous time to do that. Very dangerous. You really need to be praying.
32:07 I'm being hard. if you ever had a relationship with God. If you don't have one with God, get a relationship with the Lord. Please. Because getting online telling everybody your business, talking about you're going to leave and what you're going to do is a very dangerous thing to do. It is not wisdom.
32:29 You've got to use wisdom, ladies. Men, you've got to use wisdom. Like I tell you, this is very passionate to me. It breaks my heart. I thank God that I learned as a teenager not to settle for less. I went through a lot of stuff as a teenager because I was a little hot girl, you know, pretty hot. But thank God when I got in my 20s, 21, those words of my dad came back to me, don't settle for less. And I didn't.
33:12 From that point to this one, you're better than that. You're better than someone telling you, hey, you're pretty, hey, baby, what's up? I don't believe in men not working, laying around not working, and the girlfriend and the wife is out working, and you're laying home doing nothing. I don't believe in that. If you're a man, get up and work. Work. If you're able to work, work. If you're able to.
33:49 Not let the wife or the girlfriend do everything. And again, ladies, come on, stop it. You're better than that. Why are you doing this? Pray, please pray. The most important thing to do before getting into any relationship is to pray. I mean, seek God like you've never sought him before. Like you never saw him before.
34:22 I'm reaching a soaring. Thank you so much for listening, guys. This breaks my heart To have to speak about These things Domestic Violence Totally breaks my heart In the worst way
34:39 Breaks my heart So I'm asking you out there To please Be careful Travel in silence Move in silence Be careful Always pray
35:01 Seek God If you're in a bad place right now, in a bad relationship, take that time to get to know God if you don't know God. I mean, really, really get to know God and pray and ask God to lead you and guide you out of that domestic violence situation if you are in one right now. Don't try to go out and do it on your own.
35:28 Don't get on Facebook and all these social media accounts saying what you're going to do. Move with the wisdom and move in silence. Not making a big show of what you're going to do. Don't do that. Again, I say, do not do that. I said to myself, I'm not going to cry while I'm speaking about this, and I've held up pretty well.
36:01 So while I'm still holding up, I'm going to end this. I got to. so if I don't, I'm going to start crying. The heart breaks and I pray for those who are suffering due domestic violence right now. Those who've lost their life, I pray for your families,
36:27 pray for your children. I hope you guys listen to this, share this podcast with someone else. You think you're somebody that can help share it with them. Please share it. Share. I'm Regina Swarred. You can contact me as Swarregina.
