I hope you'll join us. The city of Aurora, Colorado has reportedly been taken over by a violent Venezueling gang of illegal aliens. We've got all the details on that and the policies that led to this kind of chaos. But good things are happening too. at Ohio State University, there have been reports of a revival with over 60 students being baptized
Starting point is 00:01:03 and many other Christian students worshipping and sharing their testimony. So we've got some crazy news and some good news. On today's episode of Relatable, it's brought to you by our friends at Good Ranchers. Go to Good Ranchers.com. Use Code Alley at checkout. That's good ranchers.com, code Alley. Hey, guys, welcome to Relatable. Happy Wednesday.
Starting point is 00:01:30 Hope everyone has had a wonderful week so far. A lot of you have been met. messaging me, asking me to debunk some of the misinformation you've been seeing about Trump and Gold Star families and the Arlington Cemetery, everything that happened over the weekend. I covered that on yesterday's episode. So if you're seeing some posts from your liberal friends about that saying, see, this is why Trump is so terrible. Go back, watch yesterday's episode to get the real deal on all of that. We also talked about some of the flip-flopping that Kamala Harris has done, particularly on immigration. And we are going to talk about that a little bit more
Starting point is 00:02:08 today as we discuss what is going on in Aurora, Colorado. It's absolutely insane that something like that is happening in the United States of America, a supposedly sovereign country that cares about our citizens, or so we hear from our elected officials. But it seems like the policies that they implement really belie their promises to us. But first I want to talk about some good news. We need some good news. We need the reminder that God's eternal plan of redemption is always going off without a hitch. That's something that we say all the time on this show.
Starting point is 00:02:46 We actually have some merchandise coming out this fall with that phrase because you guys have been asking me to put that on something you can wear. So we've got it coming for you. Also, the reminder that in the end, Jesus' victory is sure. what happens in this or any other election. There is one day that Jesus is coming back. He is going to rule in perfect peace. There will be no more politics. There will be no more partisanship. There will be no more division, no more disagreements. We will all live in perfect truth and joy in light of our Savior's sovereign and complete and total rule. And that's going to be a really good day with no more sickness, no more sorrow. But right now, God's eternal plan of redemption
Starting point is 00:03:37 is still working out, and it is working itself out in the gathering of his sheep. He will never fail to save the people that he has set out to save. And we see that going on right now, even on college campuses. Most of the time when we're talking about universities, it's really bad news. We're talking about the communist takeover. We're talking about the We're talking about anti-American and pro-Hamas, protesters. We're talking about conservatives, getting kicked off campus, and all of that. But sometimes we have these really awesome stories about God doing amazing work through the lives of young people. And that seems to be going on right now at Ohio State University.
Starting point is 00:04:21 So it's being billed as a revival event at Ohio State. and it is the gathering of thousands of students, estimated 1,000 to 2,000 students coming together, worshiping, sharing testimonies, and also young people getting baptized. So this happened on Sunday, August 25th. There were several Buckeye football players sharing their testimonies in front of all of the thousands of participants. Dozens of students, as I said, were baptized after these testimonies, were sharing. shared while the Buckeyes are currently ranked number two in the nation by ESPN, they're trying
Starting point is 00:05:01 to put the spotlight on Christ. So there's a summary of this that has gone viral on TikTok, and it does a good job of explaining what went down. Here's SOT three. Free event put on by some of the Buckeyes' biggest stars, collected thousands from the Ohio state community, and grew even more throughout the night. It was all about sharing their faith in Jesus, which started with everybody coming together to worship, and the energy was amazing. Each of the players went up to share their stories of how their relationship with Jesus has changed their lives and how much God loves each and every person in the crowd. Courageous attendees took a leap of faith to come up front and pray a prayer to accept
Starting point is 00:05:41 Jesus as their Lord and Savior. So this was organized by several campus Christian student groups at Ohio State, also local churches collaborated with them and then of course they worked with these football players who helped lead worship and share their faith. About 60 students, 60 attendees were baptized that evening according to the OSU student newspaper. Speakers included a receiver from the Buckeyes, a running back, a defensive end. And here's a quote from one of the speakers, is. His name is Emeka Agbuka. He said, the world didn't give me this joy. The world can't take it away. I had this new feeling in my heart that the Holy Spirit implanted into me. And so since then, it was really a radical change for me.
Starting point is 00:06:34 I started walking more obediently with God. I started seeking him day after day. He's worked on me, and I've had this grace of people in my life to get to this point. And then we've got running back, Treveon Henderson, giving his testimony. Here's top five. Jesus changed my life, set me free from my sin. Made me holy, made me righteous, I'm only righteous because of what the Lord has done for me. If it wasn't anything I did, it was Jesus, it was Jesus.
Starting point is 00:07:04 And he wants to do the same for you. Yes and amen. Yes and amen. I love that. He said he's only righteous because of what Jesus has done for him. And then here is another speaker. His name is Cameron Bab, Sot-6. who got it. And I'm here to tell you, for all of you that are here, whether you know Jesus or not,
Starting point is 00:07:28 there's more. There's more for you. Don't let this just be a night where you come here, some football players, and then you leave. Eternity is on the line. That's amazing. How many pastors do you know speaking that clearly from the pulpit? Yes, there are a lot of them, but a lot of them are too scared to say something like eternity is on the line. Like your eternal destination is on the line. Every single person, I think we all need to be reminded of this, every single person that you see will either be one day in hell or in heaven. C.S. Lewis has a quote, and I'm going to butcher it if I even try to paraphrase it because I don't remember the exact words, but he said, everyone that you encounter will either one day be a glorious creature that is too illuminated to even behold because
Starting point is 00:08:19 of how bright and beautiful that person is, because of the new body that they've taken on in eternity, or will be a creature so grotesque and so hellish that you won't be able to behold them either for the opposite reason. So when we think about the fact that we are always interacting with eternal souls when we realize what he said is true that eternity is on the line. It should really impact the urgency that we have to share the gospel. And also, it should really influence how we treat people. There is no interaction that is a throwaway interaction. Nothing has to be superficial in the life of the believer. Everything is meaningful. Every moment that we have is the opportunity to plant a seed. And of course, that's the Holy Spirit working
Starting point is 00:09:12 through us. We don't take credit for that, but that is the incredible purpose that we have through Christ, that we are vessels of the best news ever that can change someone's eternal destination because of God's power. So I love what I'm seeing here. This reminds me a lot of what happened at Asbury University, and we covered that at the time. I think that was a couple years ago now. And just like with any kind of mass event, there is the potential of co-opting. And so last time we saw a bunch of NAR people showing up at Asbury saying, yeah, you know, this is our moment. This is our event in trying to kind of lead students in their direction, which of course I don't like because I very strongly disagree with NAR theology. And so there's always the potential when you have a bunch of young people that are in a vulnerable moment for there to be kind of bad actors to come in and try to co-opt movement.
Starting point is 00:10:11 but I don't think that that is a reason to be critical. I don't think that's a reason to curtail our excitement. I don't know all of the organizations and all of the churches and all of the individuals that were a part of this event. I think what we can do, whether or not we know whether we align with every bit of theology that's being preached at an event like this, we can praise God that it seems like true worship is happening. We can praise God for testimonies of faith. we can praise God for baptisms. And what we can also pray is that any truth that was taught, any truth that was preached, seeps into the hearts of the people there. And the seeds that were planted in those hearts that day, they may not grow, sprout, flower for another 50 years. That's
Starting point is 00:11:02 God's timeline. That could have been one spot, one place on that person's long journey towards the Lord. And that's another reason why we can't ever take the interactions we have with other people for granted because you just never know how God is using that moment in their testimony, which, again, may not even come to fruition for several years. So let's pray for that. Let's pray for fruit for for the Holy Spirit to do work there and for not only souls to be saved, but for that to have a reverberating impact, for lives to be changed. I think we can all be excited about that. They did kind of give this call to action at the end of this to say, like, okay, this is not just an event that you came to so you could see what was going.
Starting point is 00:12:00 on, like we actually have to apply what we've talked about tonight. So here's up for. When they're here for some football players or not, I just encourage you to step out in faith. Whatever you're going through your life, whatever you've been through, I'm telling you there's a God that desires you. And so as we get into this worship, as we get into everything, I pray, we pray that you would see him as he sees you. So as we get into this night, let's get him the glory. And let's have some fun tonight. Let's have some fun tonight. All right? I need one more Jesus. Ready? Three, two, one. Jesus. So that was actually at the beginning of the event. I think I said it was at the end of the event. But same purpose there to call people into action. And then let's look at
Starting point is 00:12:47 some of those baptisms that occurred. I think we have a picture of that. Oh, that's so beautiful. That just makes me so emotional. It always makes me so emotional to see people baptized. Oh, That's just, that's amazing. So continue to pray for those students. I've actually seen lots of stories of groups like this, of different college campuses, having these kinds of gatherings and people giving their lives to the Lord and being baptized. And so pray for truth to take root and for there to be real fruit. When we're talking about something like revival, the definition of a revival is actually
Starting point is 00:13:22 stirring up the hearts and the affections and the enthusiasm of people who are already born again when you think about that word re-vival. You are reviving people who have already been made alive in Christ and just calling them to urgency. But when we're looking at something like this, where people are either being revived, they're being reinvigorated in the Lord, or they are giving their lives to the Lord for the first time. They're going from being dead and sin to alive in Christ. You are looking at an awakening. And we should praise God for that. And if nothing else, the fact that 10,000 Bibles were given away, 10,000 Bibles, they were equipped to give out 10,000 Bibles. They gave the, I think, a couple thousand Bibles to those who were in
Starting point is 00:14:15 attendance, but they had 10,000 Bibles to give away at that event. And that is just incredible because the Word of God does not return void. So praise God for what he's doing there. And May that catch on fire, may we see that kind of awakening and revival happening all over the country and all different kinds of organizations, but especially on college campuses, praise God. All right. Now, let's turn into some of the craziness that is going on in the world and some real-life examples of why politics matter because policy matters and it really, really affects people. Let me pause and tell you about our first sponsor for the day, and that is Adele Natural
Starting point is 00:14:56 cosmetics. You guys know how much I love Adele Natural Cosmetics. They're going to be at our Share the Arrows event on September 28th and you'll get to meet some of the people that work at Adele. You will find that they are just the best people and they started this company because they really care about the products that we use. She actually, Arlene, who started the company, she started this health journey over 20 years ago because of some things that were going on in her life and she realized, okay, I really have to care not just about what I'm putting in my body, but also what I'm putting on my body. So all of their products are completely toxin-free. They are completely holistic, all natural, and they really work. I have drier skin, and so I need a lot to keep my skin
Starting point is 00:15:40 moisturized. I use Adele Natural Cosmetics in their blue lagoon line. Every single day, it's really been a game changer for the texture of my face. If you go to adele naturescom, You can get 25% off your first time purchase with my code Alley. Adele Natural Cosmetics.com code Allie. Hey, this is Steve Day. If you're listening to Alley, you already understand that the biggest issues facing our country aren't just political. They're moral, spiritual, and rooted in what we believe is true about God, humanity, and reality itself.
Starting point is 00:16:10 On the Steve Day show, we take the news of the day and tested against first principles, faith, truth, and objective reality. We don't just chase narratives and we don't offer false comfort. We ask the hard questions and follow the answers wherever they leave, even when it's unpopular. If you're looking for commentary grounded in conviction and unwilling to lie to you about where we are or where we're headed, you can watch this D-Day show right here on Blaze TV or listen wherever you get podcasts.
Starting point is 00:16:37 I hope you'll join us. Okay, I don't know how many of you have seen what's going on in Aurora. This is a suburb of Denver that a Venezuelan gang is literally taking over apartment complexes. like carrying guns into an apartment complex, banging on people's door, going in there, stealing stuff, tormenting people. It's absolutely insane. These are illegal aliens who are taking over an American city. We actually have footage of this, but we're not allowed to play it because of the permissions that we needed to be able to replay it on YouTube. We weren't able to get those permissions. But just no, this is not hyperbole at all. You can
Starting point is 00:17:26 go. You can look it up on X. I'm sure there are several news articles that have this footage available, and you can watch on security cameras these men with these huge guns breaking into these poor apartment complexes. The brutal Venezuelan gang, Trinday Aragua, was drawn to Denver Sanctuary City and has been able to set up shop in the suburb of Aurora, thanks to the policies of the Democrats that run the city in the surrounding areas. And of course, we know that Kamala Harris, who is running for president, is a big fan of the kind of policies that unfortunately have decimated a place like Denver, Colorado.
Starting point is 00:18:10 And we'll get into the details of that in just a second. But first, let's back up a little bit. Let's talk about how this came to be, how Denver became a sanctuary city. First, a sanctuary city is a city that says we are not going. to, we're not going to work. We're not going to comply with ICE, Immigrations and Customs, enforcement. And if there is, for example, an illegal alien that gets caught stealing something and they go to jail and ICE says, hey, detain them, we're going to pick them up and we're going to process them ourselves. A sanctuary city might just release them and say, you know what,
Starting point is 00:18:49 we're going to ignore your request and we're going to do what we want to do what we want to do. That is basically, there are some more details of that, but that's basically what it means to be a sanctuary city. Denver mayor Michael Hancock signed an ordinance into law in 2017, codifying the city's resistance to work with federal immigration enforcement, along with establishing a donor-funded legal defense and coordinated assistance fund for immigrants facing deportation shortly after Donald Trump was elected president. So this started out mostly as a virtue signal, although there are several cities that started doing this when Obama was president. San Francisco was one of them. I think it was back in 2013 that they became a sanctuary city and the deleterious effects of that policy really came to light
Starting point is 00:19:39 when a young woman by the name of Kate Steinley was murdered by an illegal alien who had a history of violent crime and yet because he lived in the sanctuary city of San Francisco, he was, continuously released and of course in his latest release he was able to steal a gun and murder a young woman in the prime of her life that is the effect of a sanctuary city that is what i call toxic empathy this is empathy that is used as a tool of emotional manipulation to get you to believe that the only compassionate side of an issue is the progressive side. And so what you typically hear in stories about illegal immigration is the woman who fled El Salvador with her children for a better life. And she has lived here for the past 15 years. And she has been able to work and be a productive
Starting point is 00:20:45 citizen. This is basically the only home that her children have ever known. And then you hear that She is terrified by the specter of a Donald Trump presidency because she might face deportation. And your heart goes out to her. Your heart goes out to her as a woman, as a mother, as someone who is fleeing violence. And then what they typically do, and by they, I mean the media in PR, the Washington Post, the New York Times, who is telling you this very emotional empathy-driven story is they say, you know, this is why you shouldn't vote for Donald Trump. This is why the border wall is racist. This is why we should be against deportation. This is why we should make so-called undocumented people documented. This is basically why we should decriminalize border crossings altogether because of this young woman named Maria who simply was coming here for a better life and to seek refuge for her children. And of course, they leave out some vital information that there is already a legal process by which you can claim.
Starting point is 00:21:49 asylum. There is a legal definition to being a refugee. If you are truly fleeing violence, then you need to seek asylum in the closest country, the closest and safest country that you can. And also, that is one anecdote of thousands of other anecdotes of people who come here for bad reasons, who come here and commit crimes that are entirely preventable by simply enforcing border law. Every single crime, every single crime committed by an illegal alien is preventable. Every single one. Unlike many of the crimes committed by citizens, every crime committed by an illegal alien is preventable by enforcing common sense immigration and border law. For every anecdote of a young mother fleeing El Salvador and fleeing Valle, and fleeing
Starting point is 00:22:49 violence to take refuge in America with her children, there are three or more anecdotes of an illegal alien coming here and murdering someone or raping someone or killing someone as a drunk driver. So we can compete with anecdotes all day. At the end of the day, we have to rest on the principle that countries should have borders in order to be sovereign, in order to have citizenship, in order to protect citizenship, in order for citizens to have certain rights that are only afforded to a country's citizens, then we actually have to have enforceable borders that goes for the United States, that goes for Zimbabwe, that goes for China.
Starting point is 00:23:36 Every single country has that right. And that is the truth that we have to stick to at the end of the day. And so when we look at a place like Aurora that is being completely taken over by this gang, realize that this is a policy decision. This is not something that sprung up on us. This is not something that is surprising. This is the result of evil and chaotic policies done in the name, passed in the name, voted for in the name of toxic empathy. And Christians as people who love our neighbors, right? Not just who feel empathy for the supposed victim that is hoisted up by the media. but people who actually feel love. So seek the best interest of those around us. We should vote for policies, not based on emotional manipulation and toxic empathy. We should base our policy decisions on what is good and right and true.
Starting point is 00:24:31 What leads to order. What leads to peace. And open borders leads to lawlessness. It leads to chaos. It leads to the poorest among us being. economically disenfranchised and being vulnerable to violence. That's what all forms of law is, whether it's social justice policies when it comes to how we deal with citizens who
Starting point is 00:24:56 break the law or when it comes to social justice, soft on crime policies, when it comes to non-citizens who break the law. That is the backdrop of everything that is going on right now in Denver. This is toxic empathy run amok, which is exactly why I wrote my book, and that's exactly why I pushed for it to come out before the election on October 15th. My chapter on illegal immigration, because we go through abortion, gender, marriage, immigration, social justice. Actually, my chapter on immigration, it surprised me the most because it was my favorite to write
Starting point is 00:25:32 because I actually ended up as I was writing it being the most passionate, like believe it or not. not that this is more important to me than abortion because it's not, but just realizing that like when I say social justice kills, when I say soft on crime policies kill, when I say progressivism kills, like illegal immigration and the violence it has brought and the economic disenfranchisement it has resulted in is such a perfect example of the manifestation of toxic empathy. So I know I kind of went on a tangent there. a little bit more about Denver. So when we look at that ordinance that was originally signed,
Starting point is 00:26:15 it bar Denver police and city employees from asking about or sharing anyone's immigration status. It also adds other restrictions on cooperating with ICE, including denying its agent's access to secure areas of city jails for inmate interviews unless they obtain a judicial warrant. Like, again, you just have to hate the citizens in your jurisdiction in order to pass an ordinance like this. In other words, the ordinance resulted in less federal funding millions of dollars at this point from 2018 to present for Denver to deal with the cost of overseeing illegals who committed crimes because it required asking about immigration status.
Starting point is 00:26:57 So what has been the result? Because of course, we hear from the left, oh no, crime is down. And oh, by the way, citizens commit more crimes than. illegal. So apparently, because of that, we should just be okay with adding unnecessary and preventable crime to the crimes already being committed by citizens. And they just want to gaslight us into believing that everything is totally fine. I don't buy it. You don't buy it. So let's look at what's really going on. Let me pause and tell you about our next sponsor. It's good ranchers. You don't actually have to wait until November to vote. I don't know if you knew that or not,
Starting point is 00:27:34 but you can actually vote every day with how you spend your money. And at good ranchers.com, you can make a powerful choice to support American farms and ranches even before you get into the voting booth and you try to protect American industry through the policies you support and the politicians you support. You can go ahead and support American farms and ranches right now by buying all of your meat from Good Ranchers. That's what we eat in our home. We love their better than organic chicken.
Starting point is 00:28:06 We love their applewood smoked bacon. We eat it all the time. And did you guys know? They're coming out with seed oil-free chicken nuggets. Did you hear that on my show? Did you catch that? That's amazing. I'm so excited about that.
Starting point is 00:28:21 It is impossible to find. Any moms of little ones, it's so hard to find healthy chicken nuggets for your kids. These are going to be seed oil-free, totally healthy chicken nuggets. it's go ahead and get your subscription right now to Good Ranchers. That box of meat will show up at your front door every month. You'll save a ton of cash when you subscribe. And it just gives you peace of mind. It makes your life so much more convenient when you get your meat shipped to you rather than shopping for it in the store. Go to Good Ranchers.com and when you use code Alley at checkout,
Starting point is 00:28:54 you can claim $25 off your first box plus free express shipping. Good Ranchers.com code Alley. So you'll remember that the Harris Biden administration undid all of Trump's immigration policies opened to the southern border. You'll remember the back and forth that Greg Abbott and Joe Biden have had, as Greg Abbott has tried desperately to secure the border of Texas and Mexico through barbed wire, through buoys, and the federal government literally came in and removed them, removed the barriers that Texas put in place to protect its own people, to protect the country. Imagine, imagine that. And of course, that is also under the direction of
Starting point is 00:29:49 Kamley Harris, who is deemed the borders are. And now we see Denver is dealing with that dereliction of duty by Harris, by Biden, and also dealing with its own policies, the consequences of its own policies that it put in place in 2017. Denver now leads the nation in new migrant arrivals per capita with more than 40,000 arriving from the southern border since December 2020. So that's where we see the combination of their 2017 ordinance and Biden's presidency. The city, of course, has been over backwards to provide aid, even slashing emergency services to help foot the cost. so far estimated at over $68 million and counting. In recent months, the Colorado governor, Democrat, of course, signed legislation to support
Starting point is 00:30:41 their new lives and the state by making it easier for them to obtain driver's licenses, attend school, and obtain taxpayer-funded resources. Like you see what's happening, right? Like, you see that they want these people to become voters? Like, this is obvious, right? These people who act like they're the centenels of democracy, they are important. their voters to disenfranchise and take away the power of your vote, you as a tax-paying citizen.
Starting point is 00:31:11 When the influx of migrants became too much, Colorado Governor Jared Paulus made the decision to start busing them to New York City in 2023 through a program that has since ended. Oh, my goodness. So instead of just changing his law, instead of changing the policies, he decided that he was going to ship them to another sanctuary city, New York City. Still, many states, some moved to nearby Aurora, which has a population of 390,000 where apartments are now under gang control. This gang is called Trinday Aragua, and just a little background about them. They are a prison gang hailing from the Aragua region of Venezuela. It's been sending its members across the U.S.
Starting point is 00:31:56 Mexico border for years while also recruiting within the U.S. among migrant communities. Homeland Security sources have confirmed that the gang is tied to several violent crimes in sanctuary cities. Great. Great. This is awesome. The gang has ties to the killing of Georgia nursing student Lakin Riley earlier this year. Both of her murderer's brothers are believed to be in the gang. Remember Lakin Riley?
Starting point is 00:32:20 We'll put up a picture of Laken. Things happen so fast. Things go so quickly. It's so easy for us to hear a terrible tragic story like the murder of a young woman in Athens, Georgia. and then just move past it. But her family hasn't moved past it. Her friends haven't moved past it. They will be traumatized forever.
Starting point is 00:32:38 Athens, another sanctuary-type city in the state of Georgia. Of course he was there. And she was going on a run on a Sunday morning, minding her business when this man started following her, this Venezuelan illegal and brutally bashed her and murdered her. A young woman, again, in the prime of her. her life. Same thing happened to Molly Tibbitts. I mean, how many times does this have to happen to realize we absolutely need mass deportations and to stop every single illegal entrance into our country? Don't give me the hogwash that, well, citizens murder too. Okay, I understand. I understand that.
Starting point is 00:33:22 And if you want to talk about deporting them, we can have that conversation. But we've got prisons for them. Just because citizens' murder doesn't mean that we need to import more murderers. And I know, I understand that not everyone who comes here illegally is going to commit another crime besides the crime of crossing the border illegally. I understand that not every one of them is going to be a murderer or a rapist. Most of them probably won't. But even if it's one percent, even if it's one person, that's enough to say no. And again, it's not even just about that. It is about the that we are a sovereign country and sane countries protect their sovereignty because we are the responsibility of our government. Their responsibility, their obligation is to us, not to every other
Starting point is 00:34:12 citizen of every other country. And again, that's true of every country. Every government of every country should be responsible to its own citizens. That doesn't mean it has to be completely isolationist. it doesn't mean that it has to accept zero refugees or zero asylum seekers. I'm not saying that. But a country does have a right to say which people are going to come in. A country does have a right to say how many people are going to come in. And I thought that we lived in a democracy. The left is talking all about democracy.
Starting point is 00:34:44 Did you vote for these people to come into our country? I didn't. And so if this is a country that rests on the will of the people, I'm not sure even on the Democrat side how many people would say that this is what we want. We want for apartment complexes in the suburbs of Denver to be taken over by a violent Venezuelan gang. However, you do need to know that when you vote Democrat, that's exactly what you're voting for. You need to understand that. That policies actually matter.
Starting point is 00:35:18 That's why I'm sorry. I just, I cannot empathize with you. I cannot affirm you, Christian, when you say that, well, politics don't matter because Jesus is coming back, or I don't want to get involved in politics. I don't want to care what's going on in the culture war. Look, the lives of the people that this gang is tormenting, they matter. And they are here in this country in which God has providentially placed you, and the policies that are going into place really affect their lives. It's not a Christian attitude to say, well, that doesn't affect me, so I don't. care. You're not obligated to care about everything and everyone everywhere, but we are called to care about our communities and we are called to care about the policies put into place that affects our communities, especially the most vulnerable members of our communities. And too many, especially Christian women, are duped by toxic empathy into believing that voting for progressive policies like a sanctuary city will lead to the health and fruition of the most vulnerable. And the
Starting point is 00:36:21 opposite is actually true. In July, the Biden administration designated Trinda Aragua as a transnational criminal organization offering a reward of $12 million for the arrest of its leader. So even the Biden administration, like while they're letting people in, they're also saying, yeah, this is a terrorist group. The leadership also recently gave a green light for its members to shoot and attack cops across the U.S. according to a memo from the Homeland Security Investigation's office in Chicago. So what's happening in Aurora right now. The gang has seized multiple apartment complexes and is committing violent, heinous crimes in Aurora. This has happened despite Aurora passing a resolution in February, that it does not share Denver's position on immigration and that it will not provide resources to
Starting point is 00:37:06 illegal immigrants brought into the community from neighboring cities. So there's some sanity there, but it might be a little bit too late. The surrounding areas are now having to deal with Denver's progressive policies. Denver's illegal immigration and now resulting gang violence has become Aurora's problem. The gang's shock caller for the region was identified as, I don't even know. I don't, it doesn't matter. I can't pronounce his name. When this person crossed the southern border in 2022 into Texas, he was vetted by federal
Starting point is 00:37:38 border authorities who didn't see anything concerning about his past. And then released, Homeland Security sources said, it's concerning enough that they're crossing the border illegally. That's a crime. That's enough to turn them right back around. And we should be having zero, zero, zero, zero, zero military aged men even make it close to our border. And yet we do, not just from South America and Mexico, but from all over the world. And then in November 20203, this person alongside fellow gang members brutally beat a man in an apartment complex,
Starting point is 00:38:13 allegedly run by the group. He was eventually arrested in March 2024 and hit with several felony assault charges but was bailed out of custody and failed to show up for his court date thereafter. Huh. Social Justice kills. Why was his bail set low enough for him to be able to be released? What? It should have been $50 billion. He was caught again in July for a shooting at the same complex where two men were wounded. He was quickly arrested and handed over to ICE. An immigration judge ordered his deportation last week, but because he is from Venezuela, a country that has an accept deportations from the U.S., he is likely to stay here. Okay, so the Venezuela can just say, no, we're not taking our citizen back in America. Apparently, the greatest and most powerful
Starting point is 00:39:01 country in the world is like, hurdy-dur, okay, we'll keep them here. It's fine. Like, we're acting like we do not have all of the fire power in the world. Like, we have no ability to guard our own borders are enforced the law. We have the ability. We do not have the courage. We have the capability. We do not have the will. That's what it is. Like we have a bunch of Soros-funded progressive judges and DAs and governors and mayors who are paid to bring America into disorder and decay and disarray. That is what is going on. and it's evil. And people, especially the poorest people and the most vulnerable people, are going to pay the price. It reminds me of that verse, and this is a verse that I also
Starting point is 00:40:02 included at the beginning of a chapter of my book, the one on social justice, and it speaks to the result of failing to enforce the law. Because the sentence against an evil deed is not executed speedily, the heart of the children of man is fully set to do evil. That's Ecclesiastes 8-11. It is God's justice for a sentence to be carried out proportionate to the crime that's committed, but also speedily. But here in the United States, we so often don't do that in the name of empathy and the name of tolerance. and the name of social justice and the very people that we say that we care about end up getting hurt. Governor Jared Paulus, he's acting like this didn't really happen.
Starting point is 00:41:00 He says it's basically a figment of people's imagination. His press office offered a statement last Wednesday. The governor has already let the mayor know that the state is ready to support the local police department with assistance from state troopers in the Colorado Bureau of Investigation of Needed. But according to police intelligence, this purported invasion is largely a feature of this councilwoman's Danielle Jurenski, who is sounding the alarm about this. It's largely a figment of her imagination. Denver mayor, Mike Johnson, says, actually, you know, this is not really happening. Our crime levels are going down.
Starting point is 00:41:40 Any population, you'll have very small subsets of folks that don't follow the rules, and we hold those folks accountable. We actually know historically it's always true that we have lower levels of crime around migrants than we do among our general population. So that is there's a risk of misperception some of this population is more dangerous causing more trouble. That's just factually not true. But we are aware of it. We have overt and covert operations going every day to intervene and where we know their risks. We're going to be aggressive about making arrests about pressing charges and if needing deporting folks. But I think the much bigger risk is that you'll have a perception that all of the newcomers in the city are dangerous and nothing could be farther from the truth.
Starting point is 00:42:14 That's the bigger risk. The bigger risk is that some people might be mean to illegal aliens. That's the bigger risk. The smaller risk is that an apartment complex is being taken over by a terroristic gang and that people are being murdered. Okay, got it. Also, again, that just that idea that illegal aliens commit less crimes, fewer crimes than citizens. First of all, we don't know that because by definition they're undocumented. So we don't really have a way of even. gathering those statistics reliably. Second, again, even if that were true, why should we add to the crimes already being committed by citizens? Also, some state reps have a response to what the Denver mayor said there. But let me tell you about our next sponsor before we get into that. And that is Patriot Mobile. Patriot Mobile is America's only Christian conservative wireless provider. When you switch to them, you are sending the message that you care about the First and Second Amendment. You care about the sanctity of life. All of the values and the cause is Patriot Mobile supports. They make switching really easy when you go to Patriotmobile.com slash Allie. You can get a free

You can switch on over to them, support the things that you believe in, and you don't have to worry about funding the left by using one of those other major carriers. Go to PatriotMobile.com slash Alley, code Alley, PatriotMobile.com, slash Allie. A representative of Colorado, Javier Mabre, he said Denver's crime rate has consistently declined over the past two years even through spikes in migration. Don't buy into the false narrative seeking to demonize migrants. But in response to that, former Colorado State Representative Rob Fairbank argues that Denver was recently forced to close parks and food trucks due to crime. He said Denver legislator claims a Denver crime rate is,
Starting point is 00:44:17 decreasing. Also, Denver can't have nice things because of Czech's notes, crime. And he is pointing out two stories from the Denver Post. Denver closes two public parks citing drug sales, violence, and vandalism. That was from August 23rd of this year. Here's another report from 9 News, an affiliate of NBC. Denver police bans food trucks in Lodow. I'm sure that's short for something on on weekend nights to curb crime. So you can't have food trucks on Saturday night. You can't have these two public parks because of violence and vandalism, but everything is going great. The media and progressives never want you to believe your lying eyes. It's the same thing as when they tell you that inflation really isn't that bad, that your grocery bill isn't really
Starting point is 00:45:10 that far up and that really all of this illegal migration and the lawlessness that you're seeing in the cities and the absolute just deterioration of some of America's greatest cities, some of the world's best cities here in the United States that it's not really happening, that it doesn't really affect you. Like just think about it really simply. Here's how you decide whether you should vote for a Democrat or Republican. Look at any major city in the U.S. Denver. San Francisco, Portland, Los Angeles, Philadelphia, Washington, D.C., New York City. Have those cities over the past 10 years become better or worse? Have they become cleaner?
Starting point is 00:45:56 Have they become safer? Have they become a place that you are more likely to take your kids to visit? Or have they become dirtier? Have the homeless encampments grown? Have they become less safe, more lawless? And who is running those cities? Have they become more conservative in their policies? Or have they become more progressive?
Starting point is 00:46:21 Have they decriminalized, for example, public drug use or public defecation or setting up tent cities? Or have they started to refuse to prosecute crimes? or have they become more strict in their law enforcement? I think you know the answer to that. Those cities have become more progressive. They've been dominated by Democrats for a very long time. They've also become worse. So we have it right there.
Starting point is 00:46:51 We have the case studies for what Democrat policies do. They make places worse. In fact, I don't know that you can give me one example of a city that's been run by Democrats for any amount of time that has actually gotten better. I mean, even the blue cities and the red states, like Memphis, for example, it's only gotten worse to where the people that live there, they feel like, okay, this is my tiny little enclave of my city that I feel like I can safely go. And it's getting smaller and smaller and smaller. And we're being forced to live that way because of the deliberate decisions of progressive politicians and maybe also the lack of courage of Republican politicians too. And of course, the Democrat that is running for president of the United States and actually has a significant chance of winning that, of being back into the White House is none other than the border czar herself who has supported the sanctuary city policies that have led to the demise of major cities and, of course, the deaths of innocent people.
Starting point is 00:47:51 As San Francisco DA Kamala Harris supported sanctuary city policies in her own city, she continues to argue, actually, that a quote, undocumented immigrant is not a criminal. She said that many, many times over the years, even though, as we talked about yesterday, with Dana Bash and her CNN interview, she says, oh, yeah, there's got to be consequences to that for that, crossing the border illegally, because she knows that's where most of the country is. But here she is several times over the years saying that crossing the border illegally should not be a crime. Here's sought two. An undocumented immigrant is not a crime. I know what a crime looks like. An undocumented immigrant is not a criminal. An undocumented immigrant is not a criminal. An undocumented immigrant is not a criminal. An undocumented immigrant is not a criminal.
Starting point is 00:48:40 An undocumented immigrant is not a criminal. An undocumented immigrant is not a criminal. Those are all separate instances of her saying that. So what she thinks is that you should be able to, no matter who you are supposedly, I didn't see any stipulations there, any qualifications. No matter who you are, it doesn't matter if you're a gang member. It doesn't matter if you are a convicted pedophile rapist from Zambia. It doesn't matter.
Starting point is 00:49:10 You can come in here. It doesn't matter if you're a spy from China. You can cross the border. And that in and of itself is not enough for you to face any consequences in the United States. We're supposed to wait, I guess, until you actually steal or rape or murder or commit some other crime. And even then, I'm not even sure if she knows or if she, believes that that person should face any consequences. Believing that crossing the border illegally is not a crime means that you functionally think that there is no border. If anyone can cross
Starting point is 00:49:48 the border and it is not a crime to do so, then we are not a sovereign country. And of course, we have seen that belief manifest itself over the past several years as we have had a record number of border crossings. The people crossing the border, the bad actors crossing the border know exactly who is in charge and what the policies are. And that is why, of course, we had so much better numbers under Donald Trump, even though he didn't build the wall like many of us wanted him to. They know.
Starting point is 00:50:20 They know the incentive structure changes when a Democrat is in charge. when she was the DA of San Francisco in 2004, she ran on a campaign vowing to never impose the death penalty and supported the city's decade-old sanctuary city policy while in office. So I guess their sanctuary city policy really went back further than I thought. Harris argued at the time that the policy allowed illegal migrants to come forward about crimes without fear of retribution for their immigrant status. But actually, of course, that is not true. are some of the crimes committed on her watch by illegal immigrants who benefited from the Sanctuary City policies that she supported when she was DA of San Francisco. We have Edwin Ramos.
Starting point is 00:51:05 He was an illegal migrant from El Salvador. He committed a triple homicide in San Francisco when Harris was district attorney. Ramos's gruesome killings of three members of a family, rocked national headlines. And before the triple shooting, Ramos had been arrested several times as a juvenile, for being involved in a gang-related assault on a bus passenger, but of course he was not referred to federal authorities per sanctuary city policies. Then we have Roney Aguilera. He was an illegal migrant from Honduras.
Starting point is 00:51:39 He was another juvenile who was arrested during Harris's reign and not turned over to federal authorities for his immigration status after being set free in 2007. After he had already assaulted someone, he was involved in the gruesome gang-related murder of Ivan Miranda in 2008. We've got Alexander Isiguire, an illegal immigrant from Honduras, was chosen for Harris's Back on Track program, which provided job training and could expunge the criminal records of low-level drug offenders. While in the program in 2008, Isiguire assaulted San Francisco resident Amanda Kiefer. He snatched her purse, jumped into an SUV, and ran Kiefer down with the vehicle, leaving her with a fractured skull. At the time,
Starting point is 00:52:23 Harris said accepting Inezuguayor into the back-on-track program was a mistake, but she allowed the other illegal migrants in the program to continue their terms and graduate social justice harms, social justice kills. Jose Inez Garcia Zarate claimed he found a gun under the bench he was sitting he was sitting on a long appear in San Francisco and that is the man who killed 32-year-old Kate Steinley in 2015. I wrote about her in my book and I was just crying as I was writing it because she was with her dad. She was with a friend. She was walking down the pier and all of a sudden they heard the shot ring out. They didn't know what would happen or what had happened. And then her dad turned around saw that she had been shot in the back through her chest. And the last words
Starting point is 00:53:13 that she said before she died was, Daddy helped me. And then she lost her life. And then she lost her They took her to the hospital, tried to save her, and of course, that didn't work. And that is because of the San Francisco San Francisco Sanctuary City policies that Kamala Harris, who is right now running for president of the United States supported. Politics matter because policy matters, because people matter. If people ask me all the time about my thoughts, again, I know we talked about this yesterday on, you know, Trump's comments on the issue that matters most to me, abortion. And I'm telling you, and I know some things that people who are close to him, I'm not, but people who are close to him have told me, I'm telling you that he can be swayed in that direction. And that gives me a lot of hope and something to pray for and to work toward. And then I also look at these other issues that really are for some people a matter of life and death. And I think there is no chance on earth. There is no chance on earth. I could not vote for
Starting point is 00:54:29 Donald Trump, even when it just comes to the immigration issue alone. There is a lot of reasons to enthusiastically vote against Kamala Harris. I think immigration is one of the biggest ones. We are looking at an absolute disaster and then some if she becomes president. All right. Let me tell you about our last sponsor for the day before we get out of here. And that is Focus on the Family with Jim Daly. This is an amazing podcast that is uplifting and educational, equipping, especially for parents as we are trying to navigate the craziness of our culture.
Starting point is 00:55:11 We need to be refreshed with the truth of God's word. to set our priorities straight and to remember that the biblical principles that God gives us in his word are time tested and true and are not only good for us in our hearts and our lives, but also for our children's lives. And so listen to his podcast, Focus on the Family with Jimdaily. Subscribe wherever you listen. Go to Focus on the Family with Jimdaily.com. Okay. To close us out today, I wanted to bring producer Bree in because we have been apart for the past few weeks. She took some time off. I took some time off and I did some remote episodes. She also just celebrated a birthday. Bree, welcome to the 30s club. How do you feel? I feel good.
Starting point is 00:56:02 Yeah? Also, I just want to say, we mentioned like my actual birth date like a couple weeks ago, I think. And I've gotten multiple messages like on my birthday from from listeners. And so I just wanted to thank you guys because that's so sweet and thoughtful and and also shows that you're like listening really, really closely. Yeah. Because that was mentioned once. So thank you to everyone. So sweet. Very sweet. Good. But I feel good. Yay. Yeah. And tell us what you did to celebrate your birthday or maybe it was just like for vacation. Yeah. Well, it kind of became a whole birthday thing. But I went to the UK. Yes. I went to London. And it was just a fun trip with friends. I saw some shows. because you know I'm a theater person.
Starting point is 00:56:49 Okay, what shows did you see? I saw Hamilton. I love Hamilton. Performed by British people, which was extra good. Oh, yeah. Because they were just making fun of themselves, essentially. And then I saw Fiddler on the Roof, which is my favorite musical. That's your favorite.
Starting point is 00:57:07 That's my favorite. Okay, I haven't seen Fiddler on the Roof in a really long time, but I love it too. So good. Every song is just so good. What's your favorite song from Fiddler on the Roof? far from the home I love. It makes me cry every time. Can you see it for us? Can you sing it? No. Thank you for asking. No. Okay. But it's a very beautiful song. So should listen to it. Yeah. You just saw Hamilton and Fiddler on the roof. Wait, did you, I thought you posted something about Les Miz. No. Oh, oh, I asked, I put a poll up
Starting point is 00:57:44 asking people what they thought I was going to see. Oh. And a lot of people said laymiz. Yeah. Bree doesn't like laymiz. No. Which is really lame. I love laymise. Like I sob whenever I see it. I love it so much. You just think it's boring, right? I think it's boring. The history, to be honest, isn't boring. I think it's just the musical. I don't know. I think all those songs sound the same. I'm so sorry. I'm so sorry. That's very offensive. Okay. But Sides Fiddler on the roof, what's your other favorite? I don't know. Oh, really?
Starting point is 00:58:22 You don't have another one. I just thought that you would, Miss Theater, gal. I don't know. I guess I've never really thought about a second favorite one. And you said you didn't eat any good food? No, because all that they eat there is like beans and toast. And that's all you ate. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:58:37 No, they have like, just everything's so bland there. I don't think they believe in seasoning. I genuinely, I forgot how bad the food was because I've been there before. And as soon as I got there, I was like, oh, yeah, that's not the exciting part about being here. Do you think people from the Midwest here go over there and they're like, wow, this is so spicy and good. Midwesterners, Londoners, bland food, tater-taught casserole. No, I think people from London would eat a tater-tot casserole in their minds would be blown, to be honest. Okay, so you think that's how bad it is.
Starting point is 00:59:12 The other direction. I'm sorry, I love you Midwesterners. I think you're like the nicest people. people ever. And so I don't mean this to be rude, but Midwestern food is really bad. Yeah, it's not the best. No, it's terrible. It's not the best. I was recommended a restaurant once when I was in Indiana. I don't know why. I was like, oh yeah, but a Mexican restaurant is good here. Oh, no. It wasn't. And I'm just saying like you should go to Texas and you should try actual Mexican food and you will be like, oh my goodness, spice. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:59:45 cayenne pepper for sure it's really good or california i know we don't like to to talk about california but there's some good mexican food in california i've never tried it let me tell you as someone who was raised on texmax i've been to california and i have tried their mexican food and every time i go there the californians are like no we have the best mexican food no no no no no no it's really the best you just haven't tried it and i'm like okay give me your best spot and i've tried it and i'm like this impressed This? I'm sorry. I'm not a snob about all forms of food. Mexican food. I am. Just a little bit. That's fair. That's fair. Thanks. I appreciate that. They're probably recommending the wrong spots, but it's fair.
Starting point is 01:00:31 Okay. Anything else fun that you did or thought about on your birthday. How were your 20s? Summing them up. Some up my 20s. My 20s were great. I did. I had a lot of existential thoughts when I turned 30. Oh, yeah? But no, I'm really grateful for my 20s. I got to do a lot of really cool things and a lot of cool places. And God, it's just been super, super good. So, yeah. Woo-hoo.
Starting point is 01:00:56 I'm ready for 30s. And now Bree's here. And let me tell you all, it was really hard for Bree to be on vacation for me. Because there were many times that I was like, I really want to text her. And one time I forgot that she was still on vacation and I texted her. And she was like, as a reminder. I am on vacation. I figure you forgot.
Starting point is 01:01:17 But here is my reply. And I was like, dang it. I forgot. I forgot. So selfishly, I am happy that she is back from vacation. I'm honored.
Starting point is 01:01:28 All right. Thanks, Brie, and happy birthday. Happy birthday to you. Thank you so much. All right. Last sponsor for the day is ADF.

Starting point is 01:02:10 whose life has just been upended by the lawfare of progressive activists who have wanted to ruin his life because he won't bake a cake that doesn't align with his values. ADF has been tirelessly defending him and others like him for years for no charge.
