Okay, I want to bring producer Bree in just to tell us about her Thanksgiving experience.
Starting point is 00:02:56 Was it a good one, Bree? Yeah, it was a good one. Yeah. It was very relaxing. I made my first sourdough. Yes, I saw that on Instagram. Tell us all about it, Pioneer Woman. Yeah, I know.
Starting point is 00:03:07 I'm becoming so. Trad. You are. I don't know. It turned out pretty well, I think. I got some good feedback from lots of ladies who were into sourdough. It looked good. Yeah. It was like a little bit like, we'll get into the details. It was edible. It was edible. It was edible. Okay. It looked fine and it was edible. Yeah. And I made homemade pretzels for Thanksgiving. Oh yeah, out of the sourdough. Yep. Yep. Yep. Okay. And what else did? Did you make anything? else or was that that was your contribution which is great that's my contribution that's a great contribution and what else did you eat yeah we had we had the classics turkey and potatoes and no ham no ham
Starting point is 00:03:50 no ham i don't really like ham wow also i know there's controversy about green bean casserole is there yeah how do you feel about it have you had it well i don't really i don't really love it so and we didn't have it this year we just had green beans we had sweet potato casserole which is basically like another dessert is amazing. But what's the controversy? Where is this controversy? Oh, I think people just hate it. No, I've heard people talk about it here. Yeah, I don't know. There's, there's just, it's controversial, I guess. It's, okay, so green bean casserole, if I understand correctly, it's like cream of mushroom soup and like funnions basically on the top, right? Fried onions. Yeah, on top of green beans. I think if you like green beans, I guess it sounds okay. Yeah. What else did you
Starting point is 00:04:38 have any any other favorites? What other desserts? Oh, cherry pie. Always cherry pie. Okay. I love cherry pie. Yeah. I feel like cherry pie is more of a summer pastry myself. I know. I've heard that. That's also controversial, but that's our families go to. We love cherry pie. And pumpkin pie, which is not my favorite. But I saw that you made one from scratch. Is that true? I did. Well, I've made pumpkin pies before. This was not my favorite pumpkin pie. I was kind of in a rush. So I just used the first recipe that I saw, and it called for condensed milk. I don't know if every pumpkin pie recipe calls for this, but to me it made the texture a little bit too moist, a little bit too mushy for my taste. And so because I wasn't sure how it would turn out, I bought a store, like just like a store-bought pre-made one.
Starting point is 00:05:34 That was excellent. It was excellent. So I ran into someone in public, by the way, who saw my Instagram story and asked me about my pumpkin pie because I had posted it. I said, it didn't look great, but it tasted. And I used one of these. And I realized that people interpret that as meaning great, excellent. I really meant okay. Like it literally tasted okay.
Starting point is 00:06:03 And so when I was talking to someone in person about how the pumpkin pie turned. down. I was like, yeah, it tasted okay. And they were like, oh, I thought you said it tasted great. It's like, oh, I'm such a boomer. I take, I take the emojis too literally. But chief related bro, CR for short, he says it should be CRB. I say it's just CR. I think CR works. Okay. Yeah. I agree. He made a brisket that was amazing. But he's really, really good. He's just a good cook in general. But I mean, he nursed that thing all night. He had to wake up multiple times to check the temperature. Wow.
Starting point is 00:06:40 It was done at like 3 a.m. So he was all worried on Thanksgiving morning that it was going to have rested too long. And it wasn't going to be good by the time we ate it, but it was perfect. I highly recommend brisket on Thanksgiving. I think that should be a new tradition. Yeah, I would love that. So good. My aunt makes something called, well, this is a controversy within our family.
Starting point is 00:07:02 Is it chocolate delight? Is it Mississippi mud? This is the controversy. I don't really know the difference. I'm just happy to eat it. But it's like this homemade pretzel type crust. This it's almost, I know this sounds weird, but it's almost like a chocolate pudding, but it's really like a chocolate pie filling.
Starting point is 00:07:19 And then this homemade like meringue situation on top, it is so good. I could eat an entire tub of that. That sounds amazing. I've never had anything like that. Amazing. It was amazing. And we did have cherry pie actually really good. and sweet potatoes and mashed potatoes.
Starting point is 00:07:38 Mashed potatoes, that could be, they could be in their own food group for me. I love mashed potatoes. I've loved it in my whole life. Specifically mashed. Specifically mashed. Yes. Like compared to other types of preparations of potatoes.
Starting point is 00:07:54 Yes, specifically. I mean, I love all kinds of potatoes. Yeah. I'm not a child. Children, for some reason. They're like, I love French fries. And you're like, okay, here's some, like, scalped potatoes. I like, oh, I hate potatoes. No, I do love all potatoes, but specifically mashed
Starting point is 00:08:13 potatoes with like milk and butter whipped in. Oh, it's so good. Yeah. So what's one thing you're thankful for? Oh my gosh. Wow, I wasn't expecting this. Um, I'm thankful. I'm thankful that I live in a place now where I can see family. I used to not be able to do that. Yes. Even though when you're at your parents' house, you have to view your neighbor's decorations, which you are morally against, I guess. Yeah. Now I got to put up a picture. Yeah, you're going to have to put a picture, which might, I'm just warning, you might offend some of you. This could be your house. This could be a relatable fan's house. I know. I thought about that. I was wondering if that's one of the reasons they took down some of the ones I keep posting. Oh, my gosh. She is, she judges her parents' neighbors, like,
Starting point is 00:09:00 blow up Christmas decorations. And, you know, I am not, we don't do blow up Christmas decorations. But when you have kids, you kind of appreciate that other people have them because your kids enjoy looking at them. And so, I don't know. I don't, I don't, I don't judge people's Christmas decorations. It's not just Christmas. They had a gigantic skeleton.
Starting point is 00:09:22 It was really scary in their front lawn. And then there's Thanksgiving ones. And it's just too much. If it was just Christmas, maybe I would let it slide. Yeah. But I find them really tacky. You know what? But you're like me.
Starting point is 00:09:33 You're a cowardly Karen. Because you won't go up to their front door and say something. You'll just secretly stew. That's what I would do. Not about Christmas decorations, but about anything else. About people taking their shoes off on the airplane. Unless I'm sitting right next to them, I don't think I would say anything. People parking in their driveway so that they're blocking the sidewalk so that those of us who are pedestrians.
Starting point is 00:09:59 Can't walk past. I won't say anything. I saw a woman do that the other day on my walk, and I literally was standing right there as she was getting out of her car and going to the front door. All this driveway ahead of her. No one could get out. People were like, oh, maybe she didn't want to block people. No, no one could get out. Anyway, she's just blocking. I didn't say a word, but I took to Instagram and said something about it just like you. But if someone had come out of the bushes, some blonde, spiky-haired lady named Karen and started wagging her finger out. And, I started wagging her finger out. this lady I would have said go go go you said yeah Karen same courageous Karen um okay well anything okay you said you're thankful to live in a place with family I I think of enough that you asked but I am thankful what are you thankful for um I am also very thankful to live close to my parents
Starting point is 00:10:54 that's that's a blessing I wish we lived close to our entire family I love to with these family too and his parents and his sisters and all the cousins that we have over there. So I wish we all lived in one place. But it is such a game changer to be able to live close to really any family, but especially one set of parents. I'm very, very, very grateful for that. All right. Let's get into the more serious stuff.
Starting point is 00:11:21 Hunter Biden, someone we haven't talked a lot about on the show, someone that you definitely definitely don't want to invite to Thanksgiving or, Christmas. We've got some news about him in just a second. Let me pause and tell you about our first sponsor for the day. It is Carly Jean Los Angeles. And yes, of course I'm wearing Carly Jean Los Angeles. I love this shirt. It's very different. If you live in a place that you want to look wintry, but it doesn't feel wintry. This is a great one. And even the tank top that I'm wearing is from Carly Jean Los Angeles. I wear their stuff all the time because it is so versatile. And you can wear it in any season of life, really any season of the year. And they've got a great Christmas deal going on. right now, they've got 30% off their entire site. I just wanted to check that to make sure that was right. 30% off their entire site when you use my code, Allie B30. That is amazing. I think that is the highest discount I've seen them offer with my code. Their entire site, again, Related Bros. If you're listening to this or Related Gals, if you've got to get a gift for your sister or your mom or
Starting point is 00:12:27 anyone in your life, go to CJLA. Carly jean, Los Angeles.com, code Allie B.30 for 30% off your whole order. Carly jean Los Angeles.com code Allie B. 30. Okay, President Biden has pardoned his son, Hunter Biden, given him a, quote, full and unconditional pardon, which covers offenses against the United States, which he has committed or may have committed or taken part in during the period from January 1, 2014, through December 1st, 2020. Hunter Biden was convicted in two separate federal cases earlier this year. President Biden previously gave statements to clearing that he would not pardon his son. He said, in fact, May 31st, 2024, he just wrote this. Of course, he is referencing, alluding to very passive aggressively Donald Trump, he says, no one is above the law. But of course, the community note that has recently been added, now says on this ex post on December 1st, 2024, President Joe Biden pardoned his son,
Starting point is 00:13:38 Hunter Biden, for crimes covering nearly 11 years of offenses, et cetera, et cetera, that we just read. And so Joe Biden said over and over again that he would not be pardoning his son, that he would stay out of this process. And he even said that. He acknowledged that that's what he had said so far, but basically that he thinks that this was a witch hunt, Just as a reminder, in June of this year, Hunter Biden was found guilty on three felony firearm offenses making a false statement and the purchase of a gun making a false statement related to information required to be kept by a federally licensed gun dealer and possession of a gun by a person who is an unlawful user of or addicted to a controlled substance. In July, Hunter faced another trial regarding three felony tax. offenses and six misdemeanor tax offenses regarding the failure to pay at least $1.4 million in taxes. His sentencing was scheduled for December 16th. Of course, these are not the only legal woes that Hunter Biden is facing. There is a reason why Joe Biden didn't just say, okay, I'm pardoning him
Starting point is 00:14:54 for these crimes that he was convicted of. Maybe that would be one thing. Those on the side are saying these were bogus charges in the first place. They're just going after Hunter Biden because he is the president's son. These were really low level crimes, et cetera, whatever excuses they would make. But you'll notice that the parting goes all the way back to 2014. Isn't that strange? Doesn't that seem very random to say we're going to cover this 10-year period? What other crimes would he need to be pardoned for? This is what does. Newsweek notes. Several MAGA figures have noted that 2014 is the year the younger Biden, Hunter Biden, joined the board at Ukrainian Energy Company Burisma. Republicans have frequently
Starting point is 00:15:46 accused Biden of personally benefiting from and influencing his son's foreign business deals in Ukraine and China while he was vice president. So that does seem to be the reason. So don't investigate any pay-for-play schemes that were happening then. Don't investigate anything that went on between Ukraine and China, Vice President Biden and Hunter Biden. Don't worry about that. He has been pardoned completely. And some people are arguing, well, of course, this is what any father would do for his son.
Starting point is 00:16:27 Maybe you could see that in some cases, in some ways. in some ways, but to save your adult son, your 50-something adult son, from the consequences of all of his illicit actions for a decade of his adult life, no, I don't think any good father would do that. I actually don't think that that's the compassionate thing. Again, of course, you would try to help your son however you possibly could and you would probably flex any connections that you had if you felt like you could save him from an unjust fate. But again, this is a grown adult who seems to have made decisions that not only endangered
Starting point is 00:17:12 himself, but also endangered those around him. And I don't think that it's right. I don't think that it's right for the president to curtail justice or potential justice. And so I don't really, I don't really buy that argument that, oh, he's just being a good dad and doing what any dad would do. No, I think this parting goes well beyond that. Biden wrote in the pardon from the day I took office, I said I would not interfere with the Justice Department's decision making. And I kept my word even as I watched my son being selectively and unfairly prosecuted. He said that this is part of his son's battle with addiction, blamed raw politics.
Starting point is 00:17:56 I think that that is empathy-mongering. I don't think that that is a good excuse for the crimes committed and the crimes potentially committed. There has been an effort to break Hunter who has been five and a half years sober, even in the face of unrelenting attacks and selective prosecution. In trying to break Hunter, they've tried to break me. And there's no reason to believe it will stop here. Enough is enough. I hope Americans will understand why a father.
Starting point is 00:18:26 and a president would come to this decision. Again, it would be one thing to pardon Hunter from the specific crimes that he was convicted for earlier this year. If you felt like it was unfair prosecution, I don't think that that is a good justification for pardoning all crimes that may have been committed for the past decade. So I'm sure we'll have more on that in the days to come. but we've got to move on to another scandal this time having to do with Daystar, which is a large Christian TV network. There are people involved in Daystar that have been embroiled in a controversy that has to do with sexual abuse allegations and new information has recently come to light. So we'll get into that in just a second.
Starting point is 00:19:17 Let me pause and tell you about our second sponsor for the day. It is seven weeks coffee. I was just talking to a friend at church yesterday. who said that she is seven weeks pregnant. And I'm so excited for her. And I was talking to my daughter about what size the baby is at this point. And I loved that the first thing that came to my mind was a coffee bean, that I was able to tell her, yeah, the baby in her belly is just the size of a coffee bean.
Starting point is 00:19:43 And that is exactly why seven weeks coffee has their name. Because at seven weeks gestation, that little image bearer of God is as small as a coffee bean. and yet has so much value. And that's why Seven Weeks believes in fighting for every beating heart. So they donate a percentage of every sale of their coffee to a pro-life pregnancy center across the country. They've donated over half a million dollars in the short lifespan of this company to those pregnancy centers. They have saved thousands of lives through those resources that they've been able to donate. And they just make top-notch coffee truly clean,
Starting point is 00:20:24 mold-free, better than organic, incredible, great-tasting coffee. It's just a win all around. Get your coffee from seven-weeks Coffee.com. Go to seven-weekscoffee.com. Use code Alley. You'll save 10% on your order when you do. Seven-weeks Coffee.com code Alley. Jonathan Lamb, the son of Daystar President Joni Lamb, and Jonathan's wife, Susie, are alleging in recent interviews that a family member and employee of Daystar only identified as quote unquote Pete is suspected of sexually abusing their daughter and that Joni and other higher ups at Daystar covered up the allegations. However, Joni Lamb claims that the cover up allegations are part of a smear and blackmail campaign and a power struggle for leadership in the wake of his Jonathan's
Starting point is 00:21:21 recent firing. So why now? Because these allegations have actually come to light in the past. So why are we now talking about this? Jonathan and Susie brought their story to an investigative journalist in August 2024. This decision came after years of growing disagreements with the family and Daystar, namely Joni's remarriage to a recently divorced man and Susie being let go from Daystar. Also, the police reopened the investigation into the sexual abuse claim. And late 2003, early 2004. And this recent report talking about these allegations then triggered new media attention surrounding the story. Jonathan and Susie made a video on November 29th, just a few days ago,
Starting point is 00:22:11 posted it to ask to answer any questions and to tell their own story of what really happened. So before we get into more details about that, I want to give you a little bit of a background on Daystar if you don't know who they are. This is according to Christianity Today in New York Post. It is one of the world's largest Christian TV networks with approximately 100 channels. It was founded by Joni and Marcus Lamb is reportedly worth a billion dollars. Employees about 300 staff turns over approximately $100 million annually. Marcus Lamb served as the company's CEO until he passed away from COVID in 2021. His widow Joni became CEO of the television network after his death.
Starting point is 00:22:54 all of the children of the lambs have a significant role in the network. Marcus Lamb was an ordained bishop in the Pentecostal Church of God. So something might be ringing about there. Daystar is very charismatic in the people that it promotes, and it also promotes largely the heretical prosperity gospel. Lamb started by traveling the country leading a Holy Spirit crusade as a young college graduate. where he met his wife. And he later claimed it was his assignment from God to build television station so that we can
Starting point is 00:23:31 reach the most people in the least amount of time. I don't think that that is a bad thing. I think it's great to use all kinds of technology to reach as many people as possible. On New Year's Eve, 1997, they launched Day Star and they broadcast an inaugural sermon by preacher TD Jakes. He is one of the biggest proponents of the heretical prospect. gospel, this idea that when you become a Christian, you are entitled through Jesus to health and wealth and prosperity and that these are all signs and signals of God's love for you and faithfulness
Starting point is 00:24:08 to you. Of course, we know that that is in opposition to Jesus' teachings who says in this world you will have trouble, but take heart, not, hey, I'm going to give you a lot of money, but take heart, I have overcome the world. It's not to mean that. that we have to be poor or that it is bad to have wealth. But God gives, God takes away, and he is not promising Christians, earthly prosperity, material, wealth. And there are plenty of evil people who have abundant wealth and who are very healthy, who, of course, are not faithful to God and who don't have,
Starting point is 00:24:54 God's favor in their lives. And so it's just a false gospel and it has led people to be burdened with a message that is just not true. There have been other controversy surrounding Daystar in 2010, Marcus Lamb went on air with his wife to confess to a sexual relationship with a woman who worked in HR at Daystar. He described it as an affair. He said he takes full responsibilities and that he is reconciled with his wife. According to Christianity today, Lamb went public with the confession because three former employees sued Daystar for lying about the moral climate of the company when hiring new staff. Lam countersued claiming the employees conspired to extort money from him. The lawsuits were eventually dropped. There have also been
Starting point is 00:25:42 some financial questions about Daystar. When COVID hit, Daystar applied for the federal paycheck protection program to pay its employees received $3.9 million. Two weeks after the loan was approved, Daystar bought a multi-million dollar jet. So there are just some questions about that. But this current controversy has to do with something I think is even more serious, far more serious, certainly than any financial questions. And that is allegations of child sexual abuse and cover up. So according to the video, that Jonathan and Susie Lamb posted on X. And as a reminder, Jonathan, the son of Joni Lamb, who is the president slash CEO of Daystar,
Starting point is 00:26:29 who helped found Daystar. So Jonathan and his wife alleged in recent interviews that a family member and an employee of Daystar only identified as Pete is suspected of sexually abusing their daughter. Pete has denied abusing the child according to a letter from Pete's attorney. This is the timeline that they can. have articulated on X. So Jonathan and Susie said they first reported allegations of abuse against their daughter to police in Collieville, Texas in November 2020. Susie said their daughter told her in November 2020 that she had been molested using graphic details. This is so sad and disturbing,
Starting point is 00:27:07 so just be warned. Susie said that her daughter said the molester was, quote, taller than daddy. Susie contacted her daughter's school, but was told there were no adult males working there. From there, they filed a report with the police, according to the department. The case was closed shortly after Jonathan and Susie said they believed the case was closed because their daughter was too terrified and traumatized to talk to the police at that time. And just for context, it does appear that the daughter was four years old at the time that she was talking to her parents about being molested by someone. Then in 2021, Jonathan and Susie claimed that after their initial complaint was made, another alleged incident involving their daughter occurred.
Starting point is 00:27:53 Jonathan and Susie Lamb alleged that in the summer of 2021, they caught Pete alone with their unclothed daughter in a room at a beach house. Daystar rented for its annual executive retreat in Miramar Beach, Florida, and confronted him about it. I have a lot of questions about how in the world that happened. When Susie Lamb reported this to Joni Lamb, Susie claimed that she was told not to report it to the police. Jonathan and Susie claimed that Joni and Marcus told them that Pete had been cleared of any wrongdoing by a forensic psychologist who had interviewed and examined him. Here's stop one. And a few days later, my father calls me and my brother-in-law into his office. He tells us that Pete has been cleared by this forensic examiner
Starting point is 00:28:38 and that we need to submit and move forward. Yeah. And all we ever knew in our lives, all we had ever done is obey and submit. We had never questioned. We had never questioned. Yeah. So even though I had big strong doubts, I was angry. I'm not going to just lie and say that, you know, I, I moved on. At the end of the day, I trusted that my dad had actually gone through the process of clearing Pete with this examiner. And we move forward. Okay. So very strange. This was obviously right before Marcus, his dad had died because he died later in 2021 from COVID complications. 23, Jonathan and Susie took their daughter to a counselor who reported the suspected abuse to Texas Child Protective Services. The couple says the police investigation was reopened and their video posted to X. Jonathan and Susie claimed that the forensic psychology reports, which were claimed to have cleared Pete of any wrongdoing, were never complete.
Starting point is 00:29:39 I don't really understand how a psychology report would have cleared any one of wrongdoing. doing. I don't really understand how that was ever considered part of a proper process to see if someone really molested a child. That just doesn't even make any sense to me. That's very strange. A spokesperson for the Collieville police told the New York Post that the department couldn't release further information as it is an open investigation. No charges against anyone have been brought at this time. Jonathan and Susie Lamb claimed that Jonathan's late father, Marcus and mother work to protect Pete and Daystar's image rather than their own granddaughter. Now, Joni Lamb has a response to all of these allegations and the fresh reports of these
Starting point is 00:30:30 allegations. And I'll get to that in just a second. Let me pause, tell you about our next sponsor, and that is Good Ranchers. I'm so thankful for Good Ranchers. Starting point is 00:31:21 This is a great, very unique gift to get someone in your life, especially if they're like trying for carnivore or just to eat healthier, get them the gift of American meat to go to Good Ranchers.com code alley. So Daystar released a written response last week, claiming that they investigated the claims internally found no evidence of wrongdoing. They also point out that the allegation became public only days after Joni had fired Jonathan from the network earlier in November. So she's basically claiming, Joni is basically claiming, no, that's not true. We didn't cover this up. This is just retaliation because Jonathan is mad that he was never made CEO and president and that he has been fired. Now, he says that he was actually fired
Starting point is 00:32:16 after these new reports of the allegations resurfaced or surfaced. He says that he was officially fired on the Saturday after the story was published, an unusual move when most firings happen during the work week. Joni vehemently denies all allegations of a cover-up or dissuading her son and daughter-in-law from going to the police, saying that they are completely false. Now, in 2023, Jonathan refused to sign the... a non-disclosure agreement in NDA from the company, according to Jonathan, two days following his refusal, he was demoted from vice president to manager, placed on a personal improvement plan,
Starting point is 00:32:57 and went from being on screen to running the cafe. Daystar pointed out in NDA's standard industry document. They require all employees to sign. NDAs do not stop or interfere with any person reporting a crime to authorities. Jonathan was then fired in November, this past November last month, not meeting the terms of his improvement plan, including insubordination and failure to show leadership. Joni issued a public statement about all of this on November 25th. Here's SOT2. Rather than take any steps to improve his performance at Daystar, it seems clear now that Jonathan was focused on fabricating a smear campaign. You see, Jonathan was extremely disappointed that he was not named the future president of Daystar following the death of his father
Starting point is 00:33:45 and my husband Marcus Lamb, despite the fact that Marcus had given a clear directive to the family and to the board that I would succeed him as president. I want to assure you that all the allegations that are circulating against myself and my late husband are completely false. We have already begun to take legal steps
Starting point is 00:34:07 to defend ourselves, and we will address the accusations in a God-honoring way. Okay, so, That's her response. She does not deny that he was terminated for allegedly not stepping up to the plate and doing a good job. I also didn't hear her deny that he was demoted after he refused to sign an NDA. Now, there is nothing immoral about an NDA.
Starting point is 00:34:35 It actually is very necessary to make sure the people working for a company aren't going to go and share trade secrets or if you learn something personal about another employee or something about the CEO of a company when you're working somewhere that you don't go out and publicize that, like, that is very normal. It doesn't stop someone from going to the police if a crime was committed. However, it does seem strange in light of everything else that appeared to be going on there, that allegedly was going on there that he was demoted because he refused to sign that. Um, he says, she says that basically this is blackmail. This is revenge because he didn't become CEO. And so now he's just trying to get back at us. I have gotten a lot of questions about this. I've been asked to talk about it. Um, I'm sure that there will be more details revealed sometimes even as I'm explaining these things. There are more details that we may have missed. Although we, of course, try our very hardest not to do that. There could be some.
Starting point is 00:35:44 some things coming out right now as I am even talking. And so, of course, I will add any clarification that is needed. But unfortunately, this is a story that we hear, that we have heard over and over again, even among those who consider themselves a part of the church. And so we need to pray here for true transparency, for truth to win and for justice to win. And I just think about this little girl. who either is a true victim of sexual abuse and her sexual abuser is walking around out there unscathed and potentially protected, or she is being used in an internal power struggle. And either way, she seems to be a victim here. If she was truly molested, then we need to pray that her abuser would be brought to justice
Starting point is 00:36:40 and that everyone who covered up this abuse and refused accountability and refused to go the proper route, which is through civic authorities, that they are also brought to justice. Now, Daystar, again, has platformed for years, heretical teachings of health and wealth, prosperity gospel messaging. And so I cannot say that I am praying for the success and the preservation of a place. platform like that, but I am praying for everyone involved to be humbled, to bring themselves before the Lord and for God to somehow be glorified as the truth and justice prevail. That is what I am praying for here, for true honesty, for true repentance from all
Starting point is 00:37:30 applicable parties. And if all of these claims are true, it is good that they are coming to light and for comfort for that poor girl, however she is being used or possibly abused. There's also a lesson to be learned here about nepotism. I think it can be really beautiful to have a family business and to have a family mission in which all different family members are involved and are striving toward one goal. It can also be extremely messy. When familial ties are interwoven with professional ties when professional ambition crosses over into personal familial relationships or when those two things are competing against each other rather it can be a recipe for disaster because accountability is so often compromised integrity is so often compromised and actually I would say
Starting point is 00:38:27 that is also the story when it comes to Biden objectivity and a blind lady justice This is very difficult when the people that you love and have a relationship with are involved. It doesn't mean that there can't be any family endeavors. Again, I think that they can be very good. But everything must be in submission to a higher loyalty, and that is to God the creator of truth and justice. And certainly those who claim to be Christians like the ones at Daystar should know this. So pray for the situation and for truth to prevail and for God to somehow be glorified. even as he is so clearly and publicly refining his church.
Starting point is 00:39:10 All right. We've got just a couple more things to talk about. Let me pause, tell you about our next sponsor for the day. And that is Every Life. Every Life is a pro-life diaper company. They put their money where their mouth is. They're not only making amazing diapers with incredible ingredients. It's the brand that we trust in our home.
Starting point is 00:39:28 The diapers really work. They're clean. I love that. But they also use every dollar to support their employees, especially they're pregnant employees or they're adopting employees, making sure that they are fully taking care of, that they have the time and the resources they need to grow and care for their children, their growing families, but also they care for moms who are in need, pregnant moms in crisis, by donating resources and dollars to these pregnant moms who are choosing life for their babies,
Starting point is 00:40:01 but really need help. And so that's why EveryLife exists. And I just love this company. They're the real deal. Go to everylife.com. Use code Alley 10. You'll get a 10% discount on your first order. Go to everylife.com code Alley 10. Okay, let's end on a happy note. Let's end with some non-woke ads. So I don't know if you guys saw Jaguar. Jaguar, the car brand. They came out with new branding and they said, copy nothing. I think that's what it was. Was it copy no one, copy nothing, something like that. And it was ironic. I thought it was a joke because it actually seems like so many other brands.
Starting point is 00:40:45 Like we'll put up a picture, but the new logo of Jaguar gets rid of what made the Jaguar brand so unique and luxurious and sleek. And it's just ugly now. Very bland, very modern. And so people were upset about that also in the reveal of their new. logo. It was a bunch of gender bending, woke, very gross nonsense. And so it just made, I think, the Jaguar brand look extremely cheap and imitative. But then you've got these other brands that are coming out with very sweet ads. I think very original ads. And they show kind of where the culture is going. There was this Volvo ad. And I'll give you kind of a summary, especially for those of you
Starting point is 00:41:35 who are listening and you can't watch what's being depicted. But a young couple, my only beef with this, is that they're an unmarried couple having a child, but I will take what I can get. It's still really sweet. An unmarried couple shares the news of being pregnant with their loved ones. So they're sharing the news with their loved ones of being pregnant. The young man shares the news with his mother with both excitement and nervousness about the
Starting point is 00:42:01 responsibilities and the joy that come with parenting. he adds that this will encourage them to get married. The rest of the ad shows videos of their future as a family in the moments that he looks forward to. It's really sweet. Like it's a very pro-life. It's a very pro-life message. And actually the fact that they're unmarried and having a child is probably even more of a pro-life message because that's often used as a reason for a couple to have an abortion because of all of the fear
Starting point is 00:42:30 that comes with making another commitment and the expenses. and it's just really sweet. They show the beauty and the joy of the sacrifice and the fear, but the excitement and purpose that comes with having a child. And then at the very end, it says, for life as it depicts this mom and dad and their newborn baby. Here's up five. You're going to be a grandma. Oh, my God.
Starting point is 00:43:09 I'm scared, mom. Why are you scared? About it all, you know. The nights, the responsibility. We're going to need a bigger place. I know. Bless you. I'm so sweet.
Starting point is 00:43:23 I've got this feeling that we're going to have a daughter. What if I don't do good in class? I just want to say and do the right things, you know? See the world with her. I also be happy staying home, doing nothing, letting her be a kid. So we had to cut that down a little bit, But it's just so sweet, such a sweet message, and especially in this antinatalist culture that we live in now,
Starting point is 00:44:06 where babies are seen as brats and burdens rather than as blessings and really credits to the world rather than just debits. That's how they should be seen, that latter description. But unfortunately, they're very often seen as the former. And it's a very self-centered way to think, this idea that we shouldn't be bringing kids into the world. because, oh, we live in this scary time. People have lived in much scarier times and much worse times. This is how humanity keeps going. If we live in a scary bad time, what does the world need more than strong, brave, wise, innovative people that can be raised by people like you. It is our greatest contribution. So I loved this by Volvo way better than Jaguar. My first car was a Volvo,
Starting point is 00:44:58 And it was a great car, a very safe car. And then we've got this other car ad. And this is from Chevy, just very nostalgic and sweet. SOT 6. Brandt told me everything about this truck. Here, how many RPM that you're meant to measure? But I just listen to the sound. Bring it down too much.
Starting point is 00:45:23 Then it's whoop, whoop, whoop. You used to tell me about you? No, what? The big heart you have. You're kind. He loved how curious you were about his work, and you wanted to help him build things. Williams House, how's your granddad?
Starting point is 00:45:49 He built that one too, didn't he? Yeah, you'd be the first to tell you about it. See that place over there, Kevin? Yeah. I built that. You roofed the church for free. You can make anything. So the beginning of that ad, and again,
Starting point is 00:46:10 we couldn't play the whole thing because it's five and a half minutes long, but this young boy is being pressured to go to different colleges and to, you know, aspire to a fancy white-collar job. But the rest of this ad is showing how he really finds solace with his father and his grandfather's woodworking shop, goes for a drive and the grandfather's old Chevy truck. When the boy tells his dad that he wants to be just like his grandfather, his dad says, you already are. So just the legacy that is being passed down from grandfather to father to son through this Chevy. that has kind of been an inheritance for him that I think symbolizes a much greater and deeper
Starting point is 00:46:53 inheritance that he has been passed down again very sweet very family centered we see the importance and the prominence of fatherhood which is another thing that is so demonized today the best depiction that we get of fatherhood in most of the media in Hollywood today is like this dolt, adult of a dad, Phil Dunphy, who can't do anything right, who has to rely on his girl boss of a wife for everything. I mean, that's what we've been conditioned to see for so long. So to have two ads where you have this sweet, strong, providing, caring, wise father is really, really something and really sweet. And then the last ad, and this. This would make me cry as I watched it for the first time.
Starting point is 00:47:46 I mean, I was just sobbing. This is not a car ad. This is an Apple ad. And I know all of these companies, they still probably have woke values. I'm not saying that, you know, if you're not supporting these companies, that you should change your mind necessarily. I'm just using these as signs that maybe these brands, these companies are waking up to the fact that the culture is not. not shifting in the far left direction that they thought that it was. They put all their eggs in the far left transgender basket.
Starting point is 00:48:21 And I think this election did show people, okay, maybe we're not going there quite yet. And they are adjusting based on this information. Here's Sop 4. We got it last week. I think I know what it is. Are you serious? Guys, thank you.
Starting point is 00:48:49 when it comes to the eyes off the other day in the school. Oh, how they did that? Mm. John. Listen. The fire. You place the flowers in the vase that you bought today. You're so excited.
Starting point is 00:49:26 I am still. I am crying. So sweet. That's the thing also about becoming a parent is that you see your own children. and every child. And so it makes everything so emotional. But if you're just listening to this, this is a dad who on Christmas Day, he and his wife gifted their daughter with a new guitar. And he's watching this and he's having, I'm about to start crying. He's having all these flashbacks of her growing up as a little girl and all these sweet memories. And then it's revealed at the end
Starting point is 00:50:10 when his other daughter gives him these AirPods that now work as hearing aids and he puts them in and he turns them up and then he can hear his daughter clearly as she is playing on her new guitar and singing. And so that was the reveal of their new AirPods product that is also a hearing aid. Functions as a hearing aid. Oh my goodness. That is just so sweet. So we've got three pro fatherhood pro family pro children ads and might i just note might i just note because this was a running joke on acts for the past several years that you almost never see an ad where it's just all white straight people like you just don't see that anymore it just doesn't fit the DEI qualifications and that was the case at least in at least in two of these ads that
Starting point is 00:51:08 I just think that's interesting. I'm just noting that that is interesting. It's an interesting direction that these companies are going in, that they don't seem to be as concerned with checking all of the intersectional boxes. And the power of marketing, the power of media, we literally are, especially in some countries like South Korea, heading towards societal collapse because people are not having children, because people are valuing their pets, their plants, their professions,
Starting point is 00:51:38 more than they are contributing to the next generation, getting married, procreating. And we cannot exist if that is the case. We don't want to enter this brave new world where our future generations, the future workers, depend upon artificial procreation. It's not going to be pretty if dystopia is our future. And of course, it is an assault on the creation order, the mandate that human beings have to be fruitful and multiply. I understand that many of you want to be married and want to have kids, haven't been able to do that. And of course, I'm not trying to lecture you.
Starting point is 00:52:22 We are talking about the people that have that choice that are choosing not to or putting their own selfish desires first, even saying that it's for the good of the planet or for the good of children, not to have more children. but of course that is a farce. As I said, there have been much harder times than now. And there is nothing as sanctifying nor as fulfilling as having children as difficult as the whole parenting process may sometimes be. So I just thought that was beautiful and maybe it's a good sign of where our culture may be actually headed.
