Relatable with Allie Beth Stuckey - Leaked DNC Report, NFL QB Attacked for Trump Support & When to Buy a House | Ron Simmons

Episode Date: May 30, 2026

Ron Simmons guest hosts "Relatable" and breaks down the explosive DNC 2024 election autopsy that the party tried to bury. The report admits Democrats have lost ground at every level since Obama, faile...d to build a positive case for Kamala Harris, leaned too heavily on identity politics, and got crushed by Trump’s “they/them” messaging — while ignoring rural voters and everyday economic concerns. Next, Ken Paxton crushes John Cornyn in the Texas Senate runoff as Trump-backed challengers continue reshaping the GOP, while Democrats grapple with their own messy primary fights and controversial nominees. Plus, the tragic story of a pro-Trump veteran killed after years of harassment, Giants QB Jaxson Dart introducing President Trump, and the glaring double standard from the Left when athletes go conservative. Lastly, Ron gives an update on the war with Iran and answers some viewer questions on a variety of topics, including the economy, when to buy a home, and AI. Starting point is 00:00:00 Well, hello again, everybody. I hope everybody's having a good day whenever it is that you're watching or listening to this. And this will be coming out on the weekend as we do every other week. Allie's had some really great shows this week. If you didn't get the opportunity last week to listen to her interview with Kevin Roberts from the Heritage Foundation. Oh, that was just really a good analysis of the conservative movement. And where we are today and some of the challenges, Allie is such a really good interviewer, and Kevin is a very good interviewee.
Starting point is 00:00:42 And so if you have a chance to watch that, listen to that, I think you'll really, really enjoy that. We're going to have a lot of election-related talk today because we're in the middle of kind of primary season, and when we talk about primaries, we're talking about, you know, the Democrats vote for their selected people they want to run. In the November election, the Republicans do the same thing. and so there's a lot of that going on. In fact, here in Texas, we had some runoffs after our primary, so we couldn't even get to a majority in the original primary vote. We had to have a runoff, and we'll talk about that in just a minute.
Starting point is 00:01:16 But before I do that, something happened in the last few days that I thought was pretty interesting. And this happens. All the parties do this, is that after a big election, they kind of do an autopsy of what happened, and the Democrats did that for their 2024 election. The Democrat National Committee did, and they committed. an internal review to analyze what went wrong. Now, the report was delayed because Ken Martin eventually announced that he didn't want to release it because he didn't really want to distract from what's coming up in the midterms.
Starting point is 00:01:47 So CNN actually had a report on this, and they obtained a copy of the report and they published it, but they said it was incomplete and contained some factual errors. The DNC itself added disclaimer saying it could not verify many claims. because supporting interviews and data were missing. So they were trying to distance himself from it right off the bat. But here's a few things that the report said that I thought were interesting. The report said to grow, we must admit and accept some hard truths about our party, talking about the Democrat Party.
Starting point is 00:02:23 Since the high point of the 2008 Obama landslide, remember that's when he beat John McCain in 2008, we have, when he received 10 million more votes than John McCain, the Democrat Party has vacillated between stagnation and retrogression, which is not good. In doing so, we have lost the confidence we once received from everyday Americans. And election results show it. In the 16 tumultuous years since the historic election, Democrats have lost ground at every level of government. So conservatives, you're doing a really good job of getting engaged. even in your local political scene.
Starting point is 00:03:03 Because when they say every level, they're meaning all the way down to the city council, the school boards. We've been talking about that for years now, that that's where you start your involvement. And the Democrats did such a good job at that for years. But we have been encouraging Republicans and conservatives do that, and it looks like you're doing that.
Starting point is 00:03:21 So good job on that. The report also noted that the Biden administration did not do enough to support Kamala Harris. You know, it's interesting how people never want to take responsibility. And Kamala is one of those that never wants to take responsibility, and the people around her don't want her to take responsibility. This report said that the White House did not effectively support Vice President Harris over three and a half years to improve her standing before the candidate switch.
Starting point is 00:03:50 Well, no vice president is in the limelight, or rarely are they in the limelight. I know J.D. Vance is doing a lot of important work, but he's not out there in front of the camera all the time, and that would be pretty rare. The other reason I think the White House didn't do that was because they were planning on Joe Biden running again. So what was the need for them to be promoting Kamala Harris during that time period? The late switch to Harris limited messaging and organizing options produced predictable results. Also, it says, now this is interesting. and they get critical of the Harris campaign here. The Harris campaign appears to have relied on Trump being unacceptable
Starting point is 00:04:31 rather than building an affirmative case for Harris. We'll talk about that a little bit more when we talk about the Texas race. But that's something to remember when you're running a race, you need to, yes, you need to point out your opponents where they're not as good at. But you need to really spend most of your time promoting what you're good at. and they did not do that with Vice President Harris.
Starting point is 00:04:58 What we need to do as a party, they say, is we need to focus less on abstract issues and identity politics and connect with voters on issues they say matter most, including the economy, disaster relief,
Starting point is 00:05:12 addressing housing, affordability. Now, that's the same message that the Republicans need to pay attention to. Quit focusing on identity politics, you know, where, you know, if you're not 100% with me, then you must be a rhino, Republican and name only. And I'm sure they call them dinoes on the other side.
Starting point is 00:05:30 You got to focus on what the voters are interested in. And remember most voters, they do have a value system. Like for a lot of us that are pro-life, that's something that's really important. We would never vote for a candidate when we have a choice that is not pro-life. But the most common things are people's pocketbooks. That's what they're the most interested in, and their own personal safety. and the safety of their communities. So have to pay attention to that.
Starting point is 00:05:58 Now, again, Harris also wrote off Rule America, that she assumed that the urban and suburban margins would be enough to compensate. But they didn't realize that Donald Trump was such a good campaigner out in the hinderlands or the flyover states in America. And Kamala just never paid much attention to that, and that ended up costing them. for sure. The other thing is, is that, you know, you remember this one Trump ad that says, Kamala is for they, them, but I stand for you. That evidently was the most effective ad of the whole campaign. And she never changed her position on that whatsoever. And, you know, that she said
Starting point is 00:06:43 she didn't, she wouldn't change anything that President Biden did, which was a, which was a problem. Now, our friend, Senator Chris Van Hollen, you remember, he's the guy that went down, to visit with the illegal alien that had been trafficking, allegedly trafficking humans and what have you. He had a lot to say about this report. This is a very shoddy piece of work. It's an incomplete piece of work. And I can understand why Ken Martin was reluctant to release it earlier. But as he has said, he owns this problem.
Starting point is 00:07:18 He should have just ripped the Band-Aid off earlier and put it out. No, we're six months from a very important election, and we should not be changing horses at this time. I will say that the overall thrust of the report indicates that, you know, we should not just go back to the pre-Trump status quo. Well, I mean, it's going to be interesting to see what the Democrats do. Now, I think their playbook is going to be what happened in Virginia. You remember the lady that won the Virginia governorship in the last couple of months. She campaigned as a moderate, and then she has governed far, far to the left. And I think that's what you're going to see at a lot of the candidates.
Starting point is 00:08:08 In fact, you'll probably see that in the U.S. Senate race here in Texas. So let's get into that just a little bit as well. You know, Senator John Cornyn, who is a senior senator from Texas, was in a, runoff against the Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton. And that was held this week, the runoff. So they, you know, they went through the primary. Nobody got a majority. So they ended up going to a runoff because in Texas, you have to have at least 50% plus one vote. And so they had that this week. And Attorney General Paxton, he overwhelmed him, as you can see on the screen here, almost 64% to 36% for Cornyn. And again, I've told you this before, that both of these men are conservative.
Starting point is 00:08:54 I supported Cornyn in this particular election, but I believe that both of them will, either one of them is going to vote like we would want them to if they win in November. And that's not a foregone conclusion that they're going to win in November. Attorney General Paxton has a lot of personal baggage that the Democrats are going to try to take advantage of. Now, I will tell you, once this runoff was over, all right, I will fully support Attorney General Paxton. And I hope that you would do that as well if you live here in Texas. Because when you compare him to, and we have a couple of screenshots of him, when you compare General Paxton to Tala Rico, which you're also going to bring up on the screen here in a minute, you will, there's just a huge difference in what they believe in. Tala Rico has had some pretty far out statements on what he believes in, and it's very disappointing.
Starting point is 00:09:55 He, you know, he believes that there are six different genders. He believes that women should be able to get an abortion right up to the end of pregnancy. I mean, he's a far, far left. He was totally again. He tried to torpedo school choice. He didn't want disabled children and their families to have a choice of where they went to school. He is owned by the unions. He'll be owned by the billionaire Hollywood donors.
Starting point is 00:10:24 And so we have got to rally behind our U.S. Senate candidate if you're a Republican and go for him. And remember, Taylor Rico is a state representative. And so Representative Tala Rico, when you want to come on this show, you've been invited, but your people keep avoiding us. What are you afraid of? Allie is a really fair interviewer. So please, I'm begging you, please, agree to come on Allie's show, and let's talk about the biblical facts that you like to talk about so much. So there were other races also that went on around the country, these primaries that are going on, and those are interesting as well. In fact, if you remember in Louisiana last week, Senator Bill Cassidy, which I think we have a shot of him, was one of three people,
Starting point is 00:11:16 that were in an elect runoff election or in an elect primary election and he was defeated. And so there's two left in the election. So the incumbent was defeated, which is pretty unusual. I mean, even the corn and losing, that's pretty unusual. An incumbent getting beat. And he lost to Julie Letlow, who's a congressman, congresswoman, and then state treasurer John Fleming are now going to be in a runoff election to see who's going to be the Republican nominee in November, and we'll likely win in November.
Starting point is 00:11:49 Either one of these, again, are conservative. Trump has gotten behind Letlow. Fleming's a business person. Letlow, if you remember her story, her husband was a congressman and died, and then she ran for his seat. So either one of those are going to be conservative, but we should follow that race. You know, Trump endorsed Attorney General Paxson after early voting had already started in Texas, which was very, very late. It's hard to tell what impact that had, but certainly Trump in these primary elections through so far this year has been very successful.
Starting point is 00:12:22 Remember, five different state senators in Indiana were defeated by Trump endorsed opponents, which is pretty hard to do. Also in Kentucky, Trump's old nemesis, Congressman Thomas Massey, which I think we have a shot of him as well. Here he is. he was defeated by Ed Gowleran and Challenger was backed by the president. So, and again, Mr. Massey, this is, this is an example I'm going to talk about in just a second of what's happened to both Republican and Democrat parties. So it's very interesting as to what I think the analysis, the analysis is. In Georgia, Georgia has two Democrat senators. How does that even happen?
Starting point is 00:13:07 But they do. It's a very conservative state. It's representative Mike Collins and former college football coach Derek Dooley, or the Republicans that are in a runoff on June the 16th. And you remember Derek Dooley, if you're a Georgia person, then you would remember that name, the Dooley named Vince Dooley, was the quarterback, I mean, sorry, not a quarterback, but the coach of the Georgia Bulldogs for many, many years.
Starting point is 00:13:32 And his son is a coach as well. And so he's running along with, Representative Mike Collins, and they're going to face the current incumbent Democrat John Ossoff, and he is super liberal as well. And we're going to see what happens with that race. I hope that the Republicans can pull out the victory in here, but, you know, you just, you just don't know. It's hard to believe, but Georgia hasn't had a Republican senator since 2016. They haven't elected one to the Senate since 2016. That's hard to believe. But let's watch and see see how it happens.
Starting point is 00:14:10 Trump has not endorsed in this race yet. I assume that he will. Some point in time, I'm surprised that he hasn't, but we'll see what happens on that. Now, also, it's interesting, you know, we talk about on this show a lot, and we get frustrated with it. In fact, Ali talked about that with Kevin Roberts, is that, you know, why is there so much infighting in the Republican Party? And there is.
Starting point is 00:14:34 I mean, it's, you know, Kevin's mentioned that. it's because we have a big tent. And when you have a big tent, you allow people in that don't share 100% of what you believe. And that's what the big tent philosophy is. The Democrats are also having some of the same problems. In fact, the Democrat Congressional Campaign Committee has actually gotten involved in primary races, which is Democrat on Democrat. And that's pretty unusual.
Starting point is 00:15:00 Most of the time that doesn't happen. Most of the time, they'll stay out of that and just helping the general election. but they've got involved in primary elections, which is very unusual. And what some of the other groups are saying is that, hey, the Democrats don't need, the committee doesn't need to get involved in that. They need to let the voters decide in the primaries. But they said that we want to, and I've talked about this before, so they think the same thing. For the Democrats, they say, look, we got to find the people and support the people that best have the chance to win in November.
Starting point is 00:15:34 I say the same thing about Republicans. When you're voting in the primary, think about who in the primary has the best chance to win in November. That's the people that you want to vote for. But here's kind of what's happened. So there are two main Republicans, I'm sorry, two main parties, political parties,
Starting point is 00:15:52 in the United States, Republicans and the Democrats. There are other fringe parties. The most recognizable ones are the libertarians, which would tend to fit on the right side. and then the Green Party, which would tend to be on the far left side. I think what's happening, and this is just my supposition, but what I think is happened after watching this over years, is that both of these parties, the Green Party on the left,
Starting point is 00:16:20 they can only ever get 3, 4, 5% of the vote, so they really can't move the needle, right, as a party themselves. The Libertarians on the right side, they really can't move the needle, on themselves at all because they may get, you know, six, seven, eight percent of the vote. So they can't move the needle separately, okay, on their own. So what's happened is, is on the Republican side, libertarians have infiltrated the Republican Party. And they are, they want to come across as conservative, which they are conservative in a,
Starting point is 00:16:57 in a, in a some sort of a definition. But really, libertarians don't want any government of a, at all. Conservatives say we won't limited government. But we do believe there are places where the government can help society, all right, and they best serve. For example, building roads is a good example of that, or maybe even having a true safety net for the disabled or the elderly. The green, so they've had to, in order to get anything done, they've come inside and disguise themselves as Republicans, conservative Republicans. And therefore, and that's kind of part of the, this populist movement as well. And they're willing to put up with the spending that President Trump is doing,
Starting point is 00:17:41 because he certainly is not a conservator when it comes to spending, because he supports him in so many other things. The Green Party has done the same thing inside the Democrats. They've come inside the Democrat Party, and that's how the Democrat Party has moved so far to the left, on a lot of the Green New Deal, environmental things, even the transgender issues, all of those. So these groups are moving both the Democrat and the Republican Party away from the center, all right?
Starting point is 00:18:11 They're moving away from the center. And there's not a lot of room left for people to be in the center of either party. And that's disappointing, but it is what it is. So we need to follow that closely, and we'll keep an eye on it for you as well. So that's kind of a political update I wanted to give to you. A couple of more items, though, that I want to talk about. before we get into some questions from you, the listeners, which again this week are outstanding. But some of you may have heard about last week that there was a 69-year-old Army veteran,
Starting point is 00:18:46 Mr. Sharon, Carrie Sharon, that lives in Southern California. In fact, he lives in the same neighborhood as some friends of ours live in. He lives in Escondido. And he is absolutely pro-America, pro-Trump house. And we'll show some stuff here in a second. but he died after he was brutally assaulted outside his home. He was hospitalized in crude conditions several days before he passed away. Here's a picture of him right here.
Starting point is 00:19:12 He's a Vietnam veteran. You can see the flags in the background. According to prosecutors, the attack happened last week near his home, which had reportedly been the target of complaints and vandalism for years because of its pro-Trump displaced. So you can see this is outside his home. It's obviously very pro-American, and I get some people may not want that looks a little maybe over the top for some people. But so evidently this guy, by the name of Caleb Butler, and I think we have a picture of him as well, that he's a form, he was in the Navy for a while, but he just ran up to him, punched him,
Starting point is 00:19:50 cows in Mr. Sharonda, fall to the ground and then kept hitting him multiple, multiple times. In fact, a bystander came by during the assault, and he was also injured. He was later charged with attempted murder, but since Mr. Sharon has passed away, the San Diego County District Attorney's Office is now reviewing whether they should be upgraded following the death. Ms. Sharon's wife, Maria Garcia, had a comment on the whole thing and how frustrated and disappointed it is. Maria thinks it may be because of the political signs and flags they have outside. I love people, you know, they don't like the flags. I don't know why. You know, I support America.
Starting point is 00:20:34 My husband is veteran. Yeah, that's very disappointing. Now, you know, some people are saying this guy had PTSD. And the PTSD is a real thing. No question about it. So I don't want you to ever think I'm downplaying that. But I also think that some people, I'm not saying this guy did,
Starting point is 00:20:53 but it's possible some people just hide behind that to be able to go out and justify doing some pretty evil acts. And this is, this is evil. I hope this guy goes away for the rest of his life. I mean, it just should not, should not happen like that. We'll keep up with this story and report back to you on this as well. Another crazy thing that happened is, you know, it's amazing. You can't say anything these days without somebody criticizing you. And President Trump was at a rally, and he had, which is pretty common for presidents to do, had a celebrity slash athlete, introduce him. and the athlete is quarterback Jackson Dart.
Starting point is 00:21:33 He is a quarterback for the New York Giants. He was at, and they were at Rockland Community College in New York where Trump was given an economic speech. And here's the introduction. What an honor, what a privilege it is to be here. And without further ado, I'm grateful. I'm honored. I'm pleasure to introduce the 45th and 47th president of the United States
Starting point is 00:21:58 America, President Donald J. strong. Oh, man, I love that song. I'm a little bit of a tangent here. So I was at an event a few years ago. Lisa and I were at something called the Horatio Alger Awards event. And a friend of ours was given the Horatio Alger Award that year, one of about six or seven people.
Starting point is 00:22:32 And they had Lee Greenwood come in and sing that. song. We were at one of the government buildings in DC, but at the same time he sung that song, they released an eagle to fly I think it was an eagle. It could have been a falcon, I guess, but then it was an eagle. Fly through the
Starting point is 00:22:49 crowd, okay, over the top of us when this song's being sung. It was fantastic. It really was. But anyway, so this whole kerfuffle that's come up about Jackson Dart introducing President Trump and his criticism he's got
Starting point is 00:23:05 which we're going to go over in a minute. But athletes and celebrities do this all the time. They do it all the time. Remember what Kamala did with Beyonce and, you know, bringing them up, having her down in Houston and all that type of stuff? I mean, that is very, very common. And it doesn't even mean that Jackson Dart agrees with everything that President Trump says or everything that he does.
Starting point is 00:23:27 It probably means that he's a supporter of his, but so what? It's okay for that to happen. In fact, when the left does that, they think it's okay but when someone on the right does that they don't like it at all in fact giant's linebacker abdul carter was not happy with his teammate but he did say and this is what they should do if he's got a problem they should talk about it privately which they have done he and dart talked about it and everything the air has been cleared but now former fox sports one host emmanuel acco who also i believe was a player at one time he he thought that while i saw
Starting point is 00:24:04 support him being able to, you know, endorse any political figure, he has the right, the teammates have the rights to give him grief for that. And that's, that's right too. But come on. Is it really that big of a deal? Here's what Acho had to say. Here is my issue. Jackson Dart, you know how several of your brothers, your teammates, your friends, your rider dies, how they might feel about this individual. So I don't think there's a lot of wisdom or discernment in, very publicly supporting an individual who many of your teammates feel offended by. Are you kidding me? What about people that were offended by some of Kamala Harris's positions or President
Starting point is 00:24:51 Obama's positions or Joe Biden's positions, okay? What about if there are teammates that were offended by that? That doesn't mean that somebody can't go out there and support somebody else because there is everybody a snowflake now? Or all of these big, tough NFL people, snowflakes, because it hurts their feelings, they're offended by something that somebody else supports. I mean, that just drives me crazy. And, of course, we could never do a segment about being offensive without bringing in our lady friends from the view. For somebody to back a guy like Trump, whose history and discrimination and racism goes back to housing discrimination.
Starting point is 00:25:29 In the 70s. In the 70s. DEI attacks and posting pictures of the Obama's as apes. When he's on a team that's 55% to 60% the NFL is that many people, that much percentage of black people, blacker, that that is just the definition of stupidity and racist. And my opinion. Oh, joy, joy, joy, joy.
Starting point is 00:25:55 Do you have any joy? I don't think she does. What do you all think? I don't think Joy Bear has any joy. She might want to change her first name. You know, do they believe every person of color hates Trump? Do they believe that? Is that what they really believe?
Starting point is 00:26:15 The voting numbers didn't show that. And so what if there's 60% people that are on the team or people of color? Your color doesn't have anything to do. It's what your belief is. What is your belief? What do you believe about? you know, the economy or what do you believe about pro-life or what do you believe about, you know, the Iran situation? Those are all important policy discussions to have. But the fact
Starting point is 00:26:41 that somebody has a pigmentation in their skin that's difference than somebody else's is the craziest argument ever. But there is a double standard. And if you guys were remember Colin Kaepernick, who was an NFL quarterback not standing during the national anthem, I didn't see anything being said about that. That was offensive to Americans, not just his teammates, to Americans all over. And then also LeBron James, he's endorsed multiple Democrats. He's endorsed Barack Obama, which has the right to do, Hillary Clinton, Joe Biden, and Kamala Harris. All of that was in his right, but was there any outrage over that? None at all. And then former U.S. women's soccer player Megan Rapon is, she is someone that has been way,
Starting point is 00:27:28 far left and very outspoken, but nothing ever has said in a negative way about her by the media. So it's just really crazy. And then finally, I don't know if any of you know the head coach for the Golden State Warrior, Steve Kerr, but he's been an outspoken critic. In fact, he had to take something back a couple of weeks ago. He said, I can't remember what it was, but he had to take something back off of that. So anyway, what I'm saying is that it's a... okay and it's common for celebrities, athletes to go out and be at a rally or something like that.
Starting point is 00:28:06 And we shouldn't judge them because they do that. Now, we may not agree with their politics, okay, and we may not, you know, care about what they think. In fact, I don't really care about what any of them think politics one way or the other. I care about what they do on the field. That's what I care about. And nobody seems to understand that. If it's a lot, if it's a lot of It's on the Trump side or conservative side. Again, I want to remind you all this. When President Trump is gone, don't think that the media and the left won't be as hard on the next Republican president or presidential candidate.
Starting point is 00:28:42 They'll be just as hard. How that person fights back, I don't know, but they'll be just as hard. No question about it. They were just as hard on Bush as they are on Trump. And they're going to be, whoever the conservative is, they're going to be against them. All right, real quickly here, where we get into questions. I just wanted to give you a little bit of. an update on the Iran war. Has it been a lot going on lately? Obviously, they're talking.
Starting point is 00:29:03 Over the weekend, the U.S. did launch some self-defense strikes against our Iranian mine laying boats, which we need to do that because they're going on them out there putting mines in the Strait of Hormuz. So we did stop some of that. But did you realize when do you think the last offensive attack by the U.S. was on Iran? When would you think that? that the last kind of major offensive attack, that was February 28th. It's been almost three months, or actually been over three months now, that we've really gone in there and been, quote, unquote, at war. Now, the Israelis have done some stuff, not in Iran, but to some of their proxies,
Starting point is 00:29:51 like Hezbollah and Hamas and what have you. The ceasefire has been around since April the 8th, and that's held together pretty well. Well, we think it's been violated by Iran. But we're still talking, trying to get something done. Marco, Secretary of State Marco Rubio said we're still pushing, pursuing diplomacy. But if the talk fail, American will deal with Iran in another way. He also stated the straight of Hormuz has to be open one way or another. And that is so true.
Starting point is 00:30:25 And I told you about this a few weeks ago, is that we, do have precedents where the U.S. Navy has led ships through places like the Strait of Hormuz, and we started to do that, and then we stopped, and supposedly it still paused. I hope that we would start that back up. I'm not sure why we're not doing that, but I'm hoping that we'll start that back up. We need to get that straight open. That will reduce oil prices and will help gas prices at the pump. So we just keep an eye on that, we'll keep looking at it. And, you know, what the Iranians want is they want the $24 billion that's frozen in assets. We, of course, I've got to open the Strait of Hormuz. You cannot enrich
Starting point is 00:31:12 uranium to a military grade level. And of course, we want to verify, have independent inspectors going there and verify that they do not have any enriched uranium or any nuclear warheads. So anyway, we'll keep an eye on that. It's still important. Still keeping gas prices up, and I know that hurts people to do that. But I do believe that the sacrifice that we're having to make right now is the right thing to do to keep someone, keep a country like Iran, who's the largest sponsor of terrorism in the world, from having a nuclear weapon that could hurt us or our friends. So keep an eye on that. Keep praying for that. You know, Ali, talks about is God's perfect plan is going off without a hitch and that's continuing to happen.
Starting point is 00:32:01 If you read any of the Old Testament reading in Ezekiel and things like that, these are some signs. Now, who knows when the end days are going to be here? You know, Jesus is going to come as a thief in the night. There's no way for any of us to know. Anybody, here's what says. Here's what you also know. If somebody says that Jesus is coming tomorrow, you can almost bet that he's not because it says nobody's going to know and it'll come as a surprise to us like a thief in the night. And we pray that that will be sooner rather than later.
Starting point is 00:32:29 But while we're here, we have a job to do. We have families to take care of. We have the message to spread. And that's what we need to be focusing on. Now, let's get into some questions here in our last few minutes that we have. And we've got a lot of good questions. I've got some time where I can go over these. I think you'll enjoy this.
Starting point is 00:32:46 All right. What expectations do you have for your children to care for their brother with special needs? I think most of you know, if you're new listening to this, You may not know that we have three children, just in our oldest, Allie's our youngest. In the middle of that, we have a 41-year-old son, Daniel, who has autism and also epilepsy. And so he lives with us and is pretty independent, but not independent enough to live on his own for multiple reason. The main one right now is epilepsy.
Starting point is 00:33:16 And so it is the number one fear that parents have that when they have children with disabilities is what happens when we're no longer here. because Daniel's likely to outlive us. He doesn't have any other health issues that we know of. And while we have got things set up for him right now financially, pretty well financially, somebody's still going to have to be paying attention to him. He can't be just left out on his own. He can't be just put in a home on his own.
Starting point is 00:33:44 And so, I mean, Allie and Justin both know that that's a responsibility that will fall to them. and I feel very confident that between the two of them, and I think it'll take both of them because both of them have their own families as well, you know. They both have kids and other stuff going on, but I believe that they'll work together with Daniel. Where his living situation will be? I don't know.
Starting point is 00:34:09 Hopefully, at least one of them will have some property where they could have a little house or something for him on their property. And, you know, we'll have enough financing for him. If he needs an aid, then we could be able to do that. that, but yes, they're going to, they will be taken care of them. And I do expect them to do that. I do believe that's part of their responsibility. What's my point of view on kids listening or watching secular music TV shows like Disney classics and things like that? I think you have to just monitor all of that. You remember what the industry thinks is acceptable today is different
Starting point is 00:34:47 than what the industry thought was acceptable when we were kids. So you have to pay attention. to that. The industry is not going to be screening that for you. I would say that before you allow your kids to watch anything that you need to watch it first or at least need to do some research on it. And then you'll know there are a lot of Disney classic movies that I think would that I think would be great for them to watch or cartoons or what have you. But you've got to pay attention to it. No question about it. Okay. I'm buying a home as a single female, mid-30s, things to look out for from a dad's view. Well, thank you for that question.
Starting point is 00:35:23 The first thing you need to do is get a thorough inspection done. Get an inspector hired, and sometimes inspectors will just do a partial thing. Like they'll put in their report, we didn't inspect the roof. But if not, get your roofing inspector. Make sure that you get the electrical and the plumbing and the roof. Those major items get those checked out really well. so you know going in what the issues are. And then also make sure that you review the crime stats for the area.
Starting point is 00:35:55 And that's public record. You can basically Google that and find what the crime statistics are for the area. I also would recommend that if you're seriously considering a particular home, that you meet the neighbors, that you go over and introduce yourself. Maybe have your, you know, dad or a friend with you and say, hey, I'm, you know, such and such thing about buying this home. Just wanted to introduce myself. and, you know, maybe you can have a little bit of a conversation,
Starting point is 00:36:18 learn a little bit about them. Usually being a female, your intuition about people is generally pretty good, better than us guys. So if you get a funny feeling, then that may be the Lord telling you, hey, this is not the right place for you. Also, once you do buy it, I would recommend that you go slow on upgrades. If you need some upgrades to make it functionalable, yeah, go ahead and invest the money in that.
Starting point is 00:36:44 but just get in there for a little bit and see what you really want to do. Sometimes we overdo it on the front end and we get in there and say, you know, why did I spend the money on that? That really, I didn't really need to do that. So be patient on that. Do I think Tala Rico stands a chance? Yes, he does stand a chance. There's no question.
Starting point is 00:37:04 Now, if Republican voters get to the ballot and get out to the, you know, polls and vote, he's not going to win. Paxton will win, no question about it. And again, but the challenge is there's going to be some Republicans that voted for Cornyn that when they get to the ballot in November, they won't vote for Tala Rico. They just won't vote in that race. And I would tell them, encourage them, plead with them, please don't do that. You think you haven't voted for Tala RICO, but really you've given him half a vote. Because when you don't vote for one, it's a binary choice.
Starting point is 00:37:35 You're giving the advantage to the other person. So we'll talk about that more between now and November. And that's all over the country. It's not just Texas. It's all over the country. But it's the same way in Georgia. They're going to have a tight race over there for whoever wins the primary against Osoff.
Starting point is 00:37:49 There's going to be a tight race on that too, so that it's the same scenario. All right. The UFO, UAP videos released from the government and how Christians should think of you. You know what? I'm a skeptic about that. Maybe just because how I was raised. So I don't really know. That's a subject I am unsure about.
Starting point is 00:38:08 And I haven't really, I know that Jeremiah Johnson, which is an apologetics, pastor at our church. I think Allie's had him on more than once. I think he's had a comment on that, and I need to go back and read that, but I'm not really sure about that. I certainly God can do what he wants to do, right? But I'm not sure exactly what all of that means. I am glad that they opened it up, though. I mean, it should be transparent. I mean, it is what it is, right? Why would you not be transparent about that? It's just crazy. All right, how to parent young adults 18 to 22, who have different values than how they were raised. Really, the only thing, you can do is you can let them see your values, living out your values. Make sure that you're the
Starting point is 00:38:48 same person inside the house that you are outside the house. And make sure that you understand what a value is. I think I've talked about this before. We, Lisa and I and Ali went to some counseling when Ali was a teenager because she and I were having some friction, all right, which you might imagine that, mostly my fault, not hers. And the counselor had just talked to me and Lisa, but mainly me, Lisa just happened to be with me, on what is a value versus a rule versus a preference. And what it came down to is that most of the things that I wanted to do were preferences and maybe some rules. And really, they weren't value. So he had us come up with what our values were as a family and it's usually only four or five things all right and so make sure that
Starting point is 00:39:43 you don't have too many things you're calling values that are really preferences for here'd be an example okay as an adult these are adults okay they're soon to be adults anyway let's say that you are a total teetotaler but that your kids as they get to be of age want to drink a glass of wine well that's a preference that's not a biblical issue all right that's not a value that is a preference. And it's your preference, which is fine, but that has nothing to do whether or not, you know, they are people of faith or anything like that. So make sure that you understand the difference in preference and values and then live out your values. All right. Now, here's another single lady that's saving up to buy a home alone, question mark, or enjoy freedom
Starting point is 00:40:26 to travel. Should she buy a home or enjoy freedom to travel? You know, I think if you want to buy home, if that makes you feel more secure, you can do that. I always like, always put making memories a higher priority than having things, all right? Now, you obviously need a nice place to live, but there's nothing wrong with renting. If that's what you prefer to do and use the money to go and, you know, see the world. I think that's okay to do that. You don't want to ever spend unwisely. But if that's where your priority is, I'm I like the idea of making memories, but I think if you work it out, you might be able to do both. Is it okay to cut off contact with a transgender child at 27? No. It's not okay.
Starting point is 00:41:16 Not as a parent, it's not okay. Now, that doesn't mean that he or she has to be involved in every area of your life and exposure to maybe your grandkids or whatever, but you shouldn't cut them off. They should always know that you love them as a person unconditionally, because that's what the Lord tells. tells us to do. And you continue praying for that person. You continue, you know, trying to lead them back to the understanding of what God made them. And he only made them one sex, a boy or girl, he didn't make an either or. And so, but you do not, don't cut off from them. That is not the answer, in my opinion. What do you think of the deal the Trump made with Iran? Well, there's no deal done yet. I know a lot of people say that he's going to be weak on this. And I personally don't believe that. I'm not in the room, of course. I don't think we can afford to be weak on this. Now, will
Starting point is 00:42:13 Iran lie to us? Yes. And will we have to continue to monitor whatever deal we make very closely? Yes. But I think we're going to make the toughest deal that we can possibly make. How do we respect ungodly parents while parenting our own children? Well, that's a tricky one for sure. and what I would say to you is that, again, there have to be some boundaries. If you believe your ungodly parents are having a negative influence on your children, then you have to limit exposure to that. Does it mean you cut them off and you need to have hard discussions on, hey, these are our values, this is what we're raising our kids by.
Starting point is 00:42:51 You raised us by this way, so please respect our values. And again, you just have to be able to have the conversations with them that are not always easy to do. opinion of my opinion on so-called separation of church and state where there's no such thing in the constitution of separation of church and state they get that mixed up with the thomas jefferson sent a letter to the baptist upstate i forget where it was new hampshire new yorks i mean a vermont something like that remember all that the constitution says is that the government cannot establish a religion he establish a religion even though that our constitution and our laws are made up primarily on Judeo-Christian values, we do not,
Starting point is 00:43:37 Christianity is not the religion of the United States. Judaism is not the religion of the United States. Islam is not the religion of United States. We cannot set up our own church, right, unlike they have in England, the Church of England. And a lot of the Islam countries are theocracies. We are not that way at all. So anybody that says there, that, oh, we have to separate church and state, there is nothing in the Constitution that says that you can't have biblical references in government buildings. And we've seen that be proven time and time again by allowing the Ten Commandments and other things being in there. So there's not a constitutional prohibition of that. It's just a prohibition of establishing a particular religion by the government.
Starting point is 00:44:32 Let's see here. Possible things on the legal pipeline on churches not qualifying 501C3. So, you know, churches don't pay taxes. They're a nonprofit. And there has been some talk about if you get involved in politics, you can lose that nonprofit status. That's separate than different church and state. That's a separate issue. This is just a tax issue. I don't think it's ever going to happen because churches all over the country, it started in the black church. They very much involved in political discussion. You know, they have had political candidates in there a lot. And you see a lot of the conservative churches now going more and more that direction, more and more bold. And I think that's totally fine. I mean, a lot of us look to our religious leaders to help us understand a candidate and
Starting point is 00:45:20 where they are on the important biblical issue. So I don't think that's. going to be coming up any at least in in what I think the foreseeable future. Let's see here. Just a couple more will be finished. House Bill 1232 in North Carolina. This is a bill that's passed the North Carolina legislature, I think, or at least the House. It may not have passed the Senate yet. That says life begins at fertilization.
Starting point is 00:45:49 and then if you purposely kill a fertilized embryo, okay, or an egg that now becomes an embryo, that that's just like murder. And there's a criminal penalty for that. I agree that life begins at fertilization, all right? A life is a life is a life. And I know that for some, that's a pretty harsh stance to take,
Starting point is 00:46:14 but that's what I believe. Allie, I'll let her talk about it herself, but I believe that it's a life. and I think you'll see this happen more and more. I'm less concerned about that, though, as I am about this abortion drug. I forget the name of it. It starts with an M. I can't pronounce it.
Starting point is 00:46:29 That is being sold across state lines. I'm more concerned about that. And that's where we've got to put a stop to being able to do that, because that's how a lot of abortions are happening now. All right. Let's see here. How do we raise godly men? I'm expecting my first baby boy this fall.
Starting point is 00:46:52 my only thing to say was that first of all let them be boys and boys are different than girls and they're going to break things and they're going to yell at things and they're going to say things even that their brain processes differently than girls let them be boys but make sure this is the most important part make sure that they are exposed to godly male examples That's very, very important, all right? You as a mom can do what you can do as a mom, but hopefully your husband is a man of faith, and you have people around them that are people of faith.
Starting point is 00:47:33 That's really, really important to get them around as many godly men as possible in all the things that they do because in all the areas of the life, whatever they end up liking to do, maybe they're going to be hunters, or maybe they're going to be ballplayers, or maybe they're going to be engineers. There are godly men in all of those areas that you can expose them to.
Starting point is 00:47:55 And I would just encourage you to do that as much as possible. From a young age, all the way up, never quit encouraging that. Advice, encourage for parents in this current society, is it worth it to have more kids? Yes. Listen, we need good people to have more children. We're not even replacing our own birth rate, as you know. We need more good people, more people of faith to have more children. because if we don't and the bad people do, they're going to gain more control over our daily
Starting point is 00:48:26 lives. So I would encourage that. And remember, God's got this, all right? And it's not going to be easy when you have kids and have more kids, but God's got this. And he wants us to multiply. He wants us to have other people part of his kingdom. All right. The last thing is, very last one is on Ben. I think it's Skittler, Skettlers. He, who's basically a street preacher who was attacked in New York City a couple of weeks ago, and he was just out there preaching, and somebody, you know, he gets attacked and he gets beaten by several people. And it's, but the truth's always going to be attacked, right?
Starting point is 00:49:08 Truth's always going to be attacked. And this is pitiful that this would happen. So far, Mayor Mandami has not said a word about this, which it tells you all you need to know about that guy, for sure, huh? I mean, it's just disappointing that that's the way he looks at the world. So anyway, I think that's enough for today. If I didn't answer your question, please feel free to email me, Ron at Ron Simmons.com.
Starting point is 00:49:30 Also, a great Father's Day book. Father's Day gift is the book that's behind me, Life Lessons from the Little Red Wagon. You can order that through Ali's merchandise site, or if you want a signed copy from me, just email me, Ron at Ron Simmons.com. I think it's 20 bucks, and I'm happy to send you one. And don't forget, share the arrows.
Starting point is 00:49:48 All right, guys, how about doing something really special for Father's Day? How about as a father getting your wife, the mother of your children, tickets to share the arrows, to show them how grateful you are for allowing you to be a father of their children? How about that? Thanks for your time. Appreciate it. And we'll look forward to see you in a couple weeks. Have a great day.
