Hello.
Hello. How are you?
You know, I've been better. I'll be honest.
On a scale of, if you did a top 100-grade's hits of times you were sick,
sorry, top 25 countdown, would this be in it?
Yeah, this would probably hit around seven or eight.
I've coughed so much and so hard in the past two days that my chest hurts.
And the doctor's like, yeah, it's just a cold.
Take antibiotics.
Does your doctor really use that sing-song voice on you?
Yeah, you know, life is my heart.
hard. Take a nap. Okay, so Alex, the reason that I wanted to talk to you from your sick bed at home in
New Jersey, we had gotten a lot of tweets and emails from people who said that they'd like basically
ripped through all of the reply all episodes and they wish that there were more things for them to hear.
And boy, do we have a surprise for you. Right. So we used to do another podcast about the internet
before we did this podcast about the internet. It was called T-L-D-R. And I think a lot of people know about it,
but I think a lot of people also don't know about it.
Do you have a mute button over there?
I don't.
What about the one on Skype?
Oh, yeah.
Yes, I'll do that.
Okay, so yeah, we basically just wanted to do like a PSA.
To let everybody know that it exists and that all the episodes are out there.
We did the first 38 episodes.
If you want to hear more stories by us, they're all there to hear.
Do you want to recommend a few in particular?
Okay, so episode 10 was called 100 songs in a day, and PJ goes to interview a guy named Matt Farley, who at this point you've probably heard of on our show, but he has over 18,000 songs on Spotify.
Yeah, and this is like the origin story of how he came into our lives.
And I'm really proud of that piece.
Episode 11 is called RIP Violrat.
Right.
So that one was about, in 2012, there was an attack on the American Embassy in Benghazi.
There were a lot of stories about the ambassador who died in those attacks.
But what you did is you profiled another person who had died.
He did like computer stuff at the embassy, but he also had this very surprising second life online.
Okay, so number 14 is by brilliant reporter Lisa Pollack, and she is following this game that people play where they try to see how long they can go without knowing who won the Super Bowl.
And like the lengths that people go to are insane.
Like one of them is a television journalist.
It's really good.
So, yeah, you can find all this stuff on iTunes by subscribing to the TLDR podcast.
You can just go ahead and listen to all of them.
They are all still there.
It's kind of like listening to me and PJ when we were little babies.
I know.
We were so innocent then.
And now we're jaded, creepy monsters.
Yeah, now we're mature two-year-olds.
Yeah, I would say that's about right.
We're toddling.
We're getting there.
So yeah, we'll be back next week and until then, enjoy this trove of things from, you know, a couple years ago that some of which we're really proud of.
Also, Alex.
Yes.
Feel better.
Thanks, man.
I feel so bad.
I feel like I need to do all of my recording, like, right in this moment that I'm sick because if I come back and try and punch in anything, my voice will be like three active's higher.
You should say all the words, so I haven't recorded it in case you die and I can still make radio stories of us hanging out.
You mean like every word ever written?
Yeah, like starting at A.
Okay.
It'll be like John Madden's sports talk football.
Do you remember that?
Where they recorded like 15 words and then they just placed them all together.
No, they did?
Yeah, like for Sega Genesis.
No, I played John Madden football and he recorded a bunch of his signature catchphrases.
Like, that guy got hit by a truck.
Yes, but it would be like, he got 29 yards on a good throw.
Oh, that's totally true.
I forgot about that.
Yeah, well.
Okay, so we will be back next week with a brand new episode,
and I'll try to put links to these episodes in the show notes.
If it doesn't work, please don't send a million tweets yelling at me.
Thank you.
Bye.
Bye.
Feel better.
