Starting point is 00:00:00 Hello everybody and welcome to another episode of Retronauts Micro. In case you're new to the show or the format, these micro episodes happen on the off weeks, and they deal with subjects that might not be able to fill an entire 90-minute main episode. And we would not be doing these micro episodes without the help of our lovely Patreon donators. So thanks a lot if you donate, if you like to know how to donate, I'll let you know at the end of the show. So I had a lot of fun with the laser time guys, with the last two micros I put together. Those were about GamePro TV and Nick Arcade.
Starting point is 00:00:38 But for this installment, I'll be returning once again to the mixtape format you guys seem to like so much. And since I forgot to announce it during last week's Earthbound podcast, we at Retronauts just celebrated our third year of post-one-up independence. So thanks so much to all of you who support us. And if you don't, you've got some nerve, pal. You know, I actually value all of our listeners. so thanks so much if you've been keeping up with us throughout these three years of independent retronauts.
Starting point is 00:01:03 So the last time I put one of these mixtape episodes together, I focused on RPG town themes, and for this one, we won't be straying too far from that topic. Instead, we'll be going deeper inside of it. That said, this episode's selection of tunes will consist entirely of shop themes, jaunty songs that get us in the mood to fork over our hard-earned money. And while these songs don't have the same serene trappings
Starting point is 00:01:24 as the ones you hear while exploring the exteriors of cities and towns, they're still a whole lot of fun. As is the standard case for these mixtape episodes, I'll be announcing the songs up front, then I'll be getting out of the way until the end so you can listen to all of them uninterrupted. And if you're worried that you'll lose track of what song we're currently on,
Starting point is 00:01:41 when this episode hits the main feed, its description will feature a list of the featured songs and the times that they play. So if you're stumped, just take a look down at your pod machine and all will be revealed. But just be sure to keep your eyes on the road because Retronauts has not been responsible
Starting point is 00:01:56 for a single fatality in close to 10 years, and I would really like to keep it that way. So here's what you'll be hearing on this episode of Retronauts Micro. First, we have PubPoka from Dragon Quest 9, composed by Yoichi Sugiyama. Then we have the shop theme from the NES version of Beetlejuice, composed by the great David Wise. Then we have Master Librarian from Castlevania Symphony of the Night, composed by Michiro Yamane.
Starting point is 00:02:20 That will be followed by the shop theme from River City Ransom, composed by Kazuo Osawa. then we'll have humoresque of a little dog from mother composed by hip Tanaka and finally we'll have Todashi Pharmacy song from Persona composed by one of its four composers I couldn't figure it out so as promised I will get the heck out of the way so you folks can listen to some great shop themes and I'll see you on the other side for some more information about the show and how you can support us see you then I'm going to be the
