Please play responsibly. President Donald Trump has said the U.S. will hold off on a fresh attack on Iran,

as long as a deal can be reached quickly. Trump's post on his truth social platform says Iran and other Middle Eastern countries asked for time to contemplate a deal, one that would lead to, quote, the immediate, complete and total opening of the Strait of Hormuz, and what he calls an end to Iran's nuclear threat. He didn't name the countries in the post, which followed a call with Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman of Saudi Arabia, a US ally.

And in Gaza, despite Trump's announcement of a breakthrough in efforts to implement last year's ceasefire agreement, Israeli airstrikes continued for a second straight day. In Israel itself, war isn't popular with everyone. A new pro-peace Jewish-Arab political party called A Place for Us All is courting young voters ahead of an October election, the first national ballot since the October 7, 2023 Hamas attack and the Gaza War. But some analysts say that small parties risk soaking up votes that yield no seats.

reporter Benjamin Robb explains. The risks are that you have this critical election, right? Netanyahu is effectively on the ballot. You have four historic establishment Arab parties that are trying to form a joint list, which is this show of unity that historically the Arab parties have used to all be on the ballot under the same banner and historically has turned out Arab voters more than if the Arab parties are on the ballot individually. and suddenly you have this new party that's also claiming to want to attract Arab voters. Benjamin says that whether or not the party makes it into parliament, it may signal something about the direction of Israeli politics.

I think it speaks to a broader political moment in Israel right now, in which you have a group of young people, men and women, Jewish, Palestinian activists who say we're dissatisfied with our options right now, both on the lefts, where you'll hear the organizers of this party say, even on the most leftward Israeli party, Yer Gholan, its head refuses to call what's happening in the West Bank and occupation. And also on the Arab side, where you have these four establishment parties that at a moment where turning out Arab voters and speaking to voters is of chief concern, their focus, these established parties, it is on internal politics, is putting together this joint list. And so here

you have a party that's saying, this old guard isn't working for us anymore. Now to some developing news from Indonesia, but dozens are missing after a ferry caught fire off Madura Island. At the time of recording, authorities have confirmed at least five people have been killed. A search and rescue mission is ongoing. The explosion occurred just before 8pm local time on Saturday, close to an Italian restaurant located in one of Moscow's Stalin-era skyscrapers. Authorities haven't named those killed or injured, but say the woman herself and a security guard,

were among the dead. The Commissant Daily newspaper, citing its own sources, suggests the bomb may have been set off by someone else remotely and that the woman carrying it may not have known it was an explosive device. Russia's FSB security service has said authorities will step up protection for high-ranking officials. After a series of assassination attempts, it blames on Kiev. Japan's finance minister will announce on Monday that Tokyo, and Washington took joint action in the currency market to arrest the yen slide to 40-year lows. It's the first joint yen intervention in years. A Reuters photo showed that Treasury Secretary, Scott Besant, had a notepad at a Friday cabinet meeting with the words,

Capital One Financial has hit back against a lawsuit over its decision to close the Trump Organization's bank accounts years ago, stating that it did so after a review by anti-money laundering experts. It's the first time a bank has formally tied money laundering concerns to President Trump's family business. The Trump Organization and Capital One did not immediately respond to requests. for comment. About 11% of Americans are now on GLP1 medications like Juan Gioro and a ZemPEC.

One unexpected side effect of those weight loss drugs is that they're bringing shoppers back to physical stores. As users lose weight, more than two-thirds say they're more likely to shop in person because they need help figuring out what fits their changing bodies. That's forcing retailers to rethink the in-store shopping experience, says retail reporter Danielle Kay. The big thing to note here is that, you know, this is sort of a growing portion of the population that is dealing with sort of rapid fluctuation in their size. And as part of that, are looking to sort of rebuild their wardrobes. For retailers, one trend that we might start to see soon and then isn't appearing yet necessarily,

but that could come in the coming months is, you know, actual retail, actual brick and mortar expansion, increasing the size of stores, opening new stores, partly in response to this trend. But what we're more likely to see is actual investment in existing stores that could look like dressing rooms. How do you sort of incorporate AI technology or even hire more people or train, you know, employees in stores to be able to actually offer styling

services more so than retailers have been doing in recent years. So looking at existing stores, it could look like dressing room revamps, it could look like additional styling services, you know, and it could also look like rethinking the sizes that are offered to kind of ensure that the inventory in store actually meets what people are looking for right now.
