Saudi Arabia has shut down a major oil pipeline after a came under aerial attack,
raising fresh concerns about global energy supplies.
The East-West pipeline carries up to 5 million barrels of oil a day
and has helped the kingdom bypass disruptions in the street of Hormuz during the war between the US and Iran.
The shutdown comes as Yemen's Iran-aligned hooties tighten their grip on Red Sea shipping routes.
Four Yemeni government sources tell Reuters they've seized Perim Islands at the entrance
to the Bab el-Mandeb Strait.
And sources say they've also taken the nearby coastal town of Dubab.
Golf Bureau Chief Mahandahen says the fighting itself isn't new.
What's different now is the speed of the advance,
and the strategic position it gives the Houthis at the entrance to the Red Sea.
This was a front of the war that the Iranians hadn't activated so far.
The Houthis are Iran's allies.
the Iranians go to great length to say that they are not their proxies and they are not lending
them the help to make it possible for them to make these advances. But according to our sourcing,
they were helped greatly in the past few weeks and months. They would like to acquire more
territory. But what is so striking about the advance in these past couple of days is that
that they took a lot of territory on the west coast of the country, you know, Mokha, Zubeb,
and those islands in the strait of Bebel-Mandab that put them really in a position
to be extremely disruptive to global shipping.
The question now, Mahas, is whether anyone moves to stop the hoodies from advancing further?
We have not really seen so far the Saudis back the Yemeni government with a lot of
air supports with a lot of strikes in these vital areas on the West Coast. We are also yet to hear
about what the U.S. is going to do about it. So these are two things that are going to be key
to potentially halt this advance. Because if the Yemeni government forces are left to their own
in this fight, then we may see the Hothis making much greater advances in the coming days and weeks.
Leaders from the BRICS group of emerging economies are meeting in New Delhi today,
after negotiators agreed on a joint declaration according to sources.
The bloc, which includes Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa, Iran and the United Arab Emirates
is expected to approve a statement condemning unilateral war without naming any country.
The agreement could help bridge divisions within the group over the conflict involving Iran.
after BRICS foreign ministers failed to issue a joint statement earlier this year.
Chinese President Xi Jinping, Russian President Vladimir Putin,
and Iranian President Massoud Pizekian, among the leaders attending the summit.
Syria's plans to turn a former military airport into a private jet hub
are drawing criticism from rights groups and local residents.
Authorities want to redevelop Damascus's Mesa Airport for civilian use,
but campaigners warned construction could disturb suspected mass-grids.
graves, linked to the Assad era. New documents reviewed by Reuters show the airport was used as an
execution site, while a rights group say more than 1,100 detainees died there. Residents are also
protesting long-standing land disputes, saying private property was taken to build the airport,
and compensation was never paid. Visit BetMDMDM Casino and check out the newest exclusive,

Turning to Wall Street.
Ananthropic is in talks to bring Nvidia in as an anchor investor
and what could be the biggest IPO in history,
according to two sources who spoke to Reuters.
The AI startup is seeking to raise as much as $100 billion, an evaluation of around $2 trillion,
while Nvidia is considering investing up to $10 billion, according to one of the sources.
The listing is expected to be completed before November's U.S. midterm elections.
Two of the biggest forces in Republican politics are opening their wallets for the 2026 midterms.
President Donald Trump and billionaire Elon Musk are pouring new money into key races in six battlegrounds
States as Republicans fight to keep control of Congress.
Corporate finance editor Don Koupeki says voters are going to be flooded with campaign
ads.
But often they won't have a way to know who is paying for them.
The money in this election is extraordinary.
And Donald Trump has set aside or raised about 400 million.
He said he's actually raised more than that, but he had about 400 million sitting in his
super PAC, MAGA, Inc.
and he wasn't spending it.
That's changed.
He's spending tens of millions of dollars,
but he's moving a lot of the money
through another super PAC called No Going Back.
And in doing so,
it gives the PAC some degree of anonymity
on where the money is coming from
so it doesn't turn off independent voters
or other voters who may not be happy
with some of his policies or the economy.
Don says a big focus is the closest
watch Senate race in Texas. Race and polls show Democrats appear to be gaining momentum ahead of
November's midterms. It's incredibly unusual for Republicans to have to invest in Texas at all.
Ken Paxton, the Republican nominee, is not doing well in the polls at all. And so if Paxton
loses, this will be the first time that a Republican has lost to a Democrat in a statewide election
of any kind in Texas in decades. And so it's extremely unusual. And the fact that Republicans
are having to spend in Texas means that they have less money to spend in other competitive states.
President Trump is in Ireland today head of the Irish Open Golf Tournament. After meeting Irish
Prime Minister Michael Martin in Dublin, Trump said he'd love to see Ireland unified with Northern Ireland, and believes it will happen eventually.
Trump said he didn't want to cause any problems, but called Irish unity a fantastic thing.
I think it would be a fantastic thing. Now, the UK will have something to say about, obviously, but I think it would be a great thing.
The President is expected to present the Irish Open Trophy on Sunday.
In Paris, Celine Dionne is returning to the concert stage today.
Hundreds of fans gathered on Friday nights for a giant outdoor karaoke party, singing along to her biggest hits ahead of the opening nights.
For me, it's like it's all what Paris is about, just gathering people in open spaces and having a moment together, singing together.
The Canadian singer is opening a sold-out residency at the Plenitude Arena in Nantesir, her first full concert series in six years after a battle with stiff person syndrome.
She'll perform 26 shows over the next eight months.

For today's recommended read, it's a recommended watch.
This week, a group of Western countries led by the UK
announced plans to block imports from Israeli settlements,
which they say undermine the possibility of lasting peace.
And for Palestinians living in the West Bank,
peace has rarely felt more distant,
as Israeli settlers become increasingly emboldened.
For this weekend's on assignment, we travel to Kuzra,
to meet a Palestinian-American man
whose house has been under siege
and whose story has gained international attention.
