Hi everybody. Mike Bloom here back with another Survivor 50 preseason podcast. As we move on to the second of our three tribes this season, our next group of eight, the VATU tribe. Call them pink, call them purple. The people on it are far from purple because we are are getting into some of the most standout characters from the last 49 seasons of Survivor together in one group.

Well, the good news is I do not have nothing. In fact, I've got quite something for you. It is my interview with Angelina Keeley. If you need a reminder on the one and only Angelina, she is currently 35 years old, originally from Sparks. Nevada and quite the sparkly personality in her own right currently lives in San Diego where she is an entrepreneur and small business owner and that's a bit of the stuff that we get into in my interview is when Angelina left David versus Goliath she became even more of the title

that was bestowed upon her in that season and that she left her job behind she started a nonprofit She started a small business. She started a family. And Survivor has come at the right time for her. Of course, we love all the iconic moments that Angelina brought to David versus Goliath, even if she didn't necessarily intend for those moments to be iconic. And that's, I think, at the crux of her mindset going into her second season. Because as she claims it, folks, Angelina is a self-aware queen.

And I was happy she got the opportunity to hold court with little old me as we got to chat all about what her life has been like since David versus Goliath and what her headspace is going into this return trip to Fiji. Without further ado, folks, let's summit the ladder and sit down for my interview with Angelina. To say from a fandom perspective, it's been a long time coming as an understatement, you know, like what has it been like for you? because certainly, you know, there was so many times banning about during this, this excellent season of yours the first time when it's like, okay, bring her back immediately. Those opportunities didn't come. So, you know, as you were leading up to hopefully getting a call for 50, like, did you think there would be a chance that you came back?

You know, it's been such a journey from the time that David versus Glythe ended in December of 2018 until fast forward now June of 2025. There's actually a little bit more to the story. I don't know if you know this, but I was actually called, I think I can say this now. Yeah. Now that we're here. I was called in January of 2019 to play on season 40. This was before it was Winners That War.

Okay. I don't know what it was. You know, they don't tell you much, but they were like, are you ready to play again? Do you want to play again? And I wasn't ready. It was a month after our finale. Yeah. I was still processing everything that had just happened.

And I was just honest with them and I was like, you know, it's not a no forever, but it's a no right now. now. And I said, but please keep, you know, keep the line of communication open and maybe one day. Yeah. The timing will be right. And luckily, here we are one day. Fast forward seven years. And we're back. We're back in Fiji. We're ready to play again. Well, let's talk about those intervening. Seven years because so much has happened. You have become a mother two times over. Yes. And then even, I remember when I talked with you the other day after the finale, you were saying, like, I've left my job, but I'm starting this, this company then ready to run. Now it's mislimit list. Oh my gosh, look at you.

Amazing. Try to do my research for. You're like the best one out here. Thank you. Well, so talk to me a little bit about what has it been like for you? Does it make you feel like you're fundamentally approaching the second season in a different headspace than the first time out? A thousand percent. I mean, it's not just seven years.

It's like seven years and some of the most pivotal life changes that a person can go through, right? So much growth, so much experience, so much just expansion of self, right? And it's like, yeah, I mean, obviously my two. girls are the biggest part of that. I said this on David versus Goliath, but like, I've always wanted to be a mom. So that was a dream come true to have them. And they are, they mean the world to me. Like, they are, being a mom is everything and more that I thought it would be. And so we'll get back to them in a little bit. But then I started the nonprofit that you remembered. Thank you, Miss Limitless. And then now, my most recent endeavor, so I started that, I had the babies. I decided I wanted to

be a full, you know me, I go all in for everything. So I decided I didn't want to be a full stay-at-home mom. So I did that for almost four and a half years. And I'm so grateful for the time. I mean, it's like they're only little ones. And I never in a million years, you know, when I was at my like crazy universities that I think like, oh, I want to be a stay-at-home mom. But like I had them and I was like, this is exactly where I need to be. And nowhere else. And so I like to think of like ambition in an expanded way where it's like ambition in the same. sense of like going after what you dream about or what you really want. Yeah.

And for me, it's like, that's what I really wanted was to be with my babies. And I did. And so anyway, so them. And then most recently, I'm starting a small business in San Diego called Joy Babe Studio. Ooh. Hopefully our flagship location. Hopefully it's a big hit. We expand nationally.

But that's been my most recent endeavor. So literally, just to give you a picture of what I walked away from this time, and I know we all left a lot, but I left a two-year-old, a five-year-old. year old and a business under construction that's opening in two months. So a one year old. And my newborn. My joy babe. My youngest babe. So, you know, no small feat. But all of those things bring me just so much joy and happiness. And it's like I feel like I'm at a point in my life right now where I'm so like aligned with what I want to be doing, including being back here on season 50. It feels right to be here. And one of the producers.

features actually told me he was like, I won't say who to, but he was like you were meant to be here. And that gave me chills. It made me feel like there's a reason I'm here. We're going to find out what that reason is. Yeah, I mean, let's look back upon your previous season because it was, you know, such a unique edit to say the least because, I mean, listen, like, I'll use the D word a bit, like that people said we stand our delusional queen, you know, like all the ladders and the jackets and the rice negotiation. Did that fundamentally affect the way that you sort of viewed your game the first time out? And how does that affect the way you're coming in the second time? For sure, right? So I always equate watching back one season as like watching game tape.

It's like you, you learn a lot from it. It's a humbling experience to say the least, especially for someone like me. And here's the thing is like, for those who know me in real life, they know that, you know, I have those pieces that made me so fun to watch 37. I'm a go-getter. I'm confident. I'm outspoken. You know, I won't take no for an answer. and but then there's also the side of me that I don't think we saw as much on screen last time hopefully this time we'll see a lot more but there's a real you know a depth to me and I can get along with anyone I've never met a stranger and I also have a lot of awareness especially now at 35 as a mom and I I'm a lot more savvy and smart than I played the first time And so I'm really excited to just experiment and try things, tweak a few things here and there to see, to see, my goal is to do better than last time.

And I made it all the way to the end of the third place. So there's only a couple more options to move up that ladder. There we go. How high is that ladder is the question? We'll find out. Well, let's talk about the rungs on the ladder that people have got to step on to get here. We're going to play a little game called friend or foe. Oh, God.

There we go. That's a reaction I needed. This is fun. So we're going to run down the cast. You tell me if someone's going to be a friend, someone you're looking to join up with, or if someone's a foe, either like someone you're not vibing with right now or someone that could be a threat to you. We'll obviously get into the pre-existing relationships there in.

But let's start at the top here with Jenna. Can I make one small tweak to your game in a good way? Please, please. Can we do BFF friend or foe? So like I want another category, like an elevated category of like, yes. And then like friend, like, ooh, yeah, I get good vibes. And then foes like, I don't get good vibes. We're like, I don't get good vibes.

We can certainly work through some stuff. So yeah, BFF. Friend or foe. Cool. Okay, let's go. I'm ready. I'm ready. Oh, friend, for sure. Good vibes. She seems awesome. I'm excited to meet her. Colby. Foe. Ooh, okay. Why? Word on the street. He's been saying some things about me. He's never met me. He's only seen my season. Apparently, he's calling me chaotic.

Is this taken from like this unhappened stance? Like someone glanced upon the corner he's talking about you? Not here. It was before. Ah, okay. He told someone before. You know, we're not supposed to talk, but I heard through the vine that he was calling me chaotic. So. So. How about... Added to the burn book. Foe. How about Stephanie?

Same as Colby. Interesting. Foe. Yeah, apparently they're in cahoots. We'll see what happens. Surrey. Friend. Maybe BFS. Okay.

BFF, hopeful. I don't want to be for some choice. She's a queen. She's a legend. I want to be her BFF. But for sure, friend, if not, I would say, let's put her BFF. Let's put her in there. Let's be aspirational.

She'll be the inaugural member. How about Ozzie? friend for sure. Love Ozzy. My family loves Ozzy. If I don't work with Ozzy, I'm never going to hear the end of it. They stand Ozzy in my house, okay? That's really one of the more unique dynamics I've heard from like a returning player's angle of like my family wanted me to work with you. Well, no, literally.

So I'll put it this way. My family, to their credit, like my mom, my stepdad, my brother, they've been watching this since the very beginning. Yeah. I used to make fun of them for watching Survivor. I'm not kidding. I'm literally, I was like 15, 16, and I was like, this shit. show again and I just like wrote it off I thought it was so strange I didn't get it because I never thought down to watch it say when you point one finger four point back at

you and that was very much that case I'll own it I mean look at look at me now look at me now no it's obviously the best television show ever invented but but so they love the legends because they are like literally day one fans yeah and so when I told my mom I was like I heard like Ozzie might be there so re-coached like she and my stepdad were like and so I don't know who they're going to be rooting for. I don't know if they're going to root for me. I don't know if they're going to root for Ozzie, both of us. So I did tell my sit-dead. I texted him before I left and I said, apologies in advance for voting out some of your favorites. Okay, it's just got to happen. Well, let's talk about one of those favorites. Coach. How are you feeling about it? Love.

Oh my God. Speaking of chaotic, I mean, come on. It doesn't get better than Coach. Like one of the biggest characters that we've ever seen on the show. Yeah, let's, you know, let's put him friend. Let's put him friend. Potential BFF, but I'll just put him friend. because he's coach, you know, you just don't know what you're going to get. So I want to work with him, though. And I think we need to keep coach around as long as possible. Let's start getting into your era of the 30s. Yes.

Aubrey. Oh, love, BFF. Done. Like, can we just run this whole game together? Ooh, okay. Obsessed with her. We've actually, we've only met really, really briefly. I think I went to like some finale party for 38.

And, but I just, I adore her. I think we have a lot in common. Yeah. She also left a very little one at home. I believe she has a year and a half. girl that I saw on Instagram. And yeah, I just, I vibe with her. I don't know.

We'll see. I love Aubrey. So yeah, BFF for sure. How about Chrissy? BFF, 100%. No, Chrissy and I go back. We met six years ago. Yeah.

I'm obsessed with her. Yeah. No, like, Chrissy and I, we kind of like, you know, we want to have, like, basically, I'll put it this way. When we met six years ago at a charity event, she, she, Chris is very direct, right? And I appreciate that because I'm a direct queen, too. But she told me six years ago, she's like,

if we ever get a chance to play together, like, let's just run it together. Like, let's just do it. And here we are, and we've stayed in touch. We have a ton in common, a lot of respect for each other. And we're both like, we kind of like, I don't know if we've said this term to each other, but like, in my mind, we're like joyful warriors where it's like. I love that term. Yes, like, we are so competitive, but we're not mean.

You know what I mean? Like, we're just like, we love the thrill of the game. Like, we want to just like play. our hearts out and she's really smart. So I love that. She's beautiful. I'm like, obviously, I mean, four immunity wins, like,

people are going to underestimate her because of her age. Yeah. But the lady's going to wipe the floor with all of us. Yeah, ready to run it in a manner. Yeah, exactly. I love your references. So, yeah, so no, definitely, like, star BFF. She's up there, like, she and Mike

are basically going into the game, like, my number ones in my heart. All right, so talk to me. You talk to me about Mike here. Go to Mike. Yeah, because this is obviously someone you've been so closely tied to, made it to the end together. Maybe popped up a couple times on one of his HBO shows. Just casual cameo on the White Lotus opening scene.

So is this someone that you want to run to the end of the game with, perhaps, again? Yeah, look, okay, so Mike, I love Mike. I love Mike. Like, in real life, he's one of my closest friends. Like, we talk almost every day. It's been seven years. We played all 39 days together last time. He is just near and dear to my heart.

And when we found out we were both going to be out here, it's like, what do we do? Anyways, so our hope, I think, we'll see. But if he says otherwise, then cut it out. Oh, no, oh, no. I'm looping it over and over again. Let's make one thing there. We're going to, like, juxtapose, like, Angelina being like, I love my BFF. We talk all the time.

And then he's going to be like, oh, yeah, she's fine. She's okay. She's cool. Who's next? No, no. So hopefully we're on the same page. I think we are. But, no, he's really important person to me to the point where, actually,

I'll confess this to you. Please. Insider scoop. Haven't said this to anyone else. I actually hope the prize pot is more than a million because if it weren't, first of all, I mean, season 40 was two. So I told Jeff in my interviews, I was like, this is the last I'll say of it. But I think it needs to be at least two because there's too many preexisting relationships

to make it just one. That's true. It doesn't, it needs to be a compelling enough number that people will do whatever it takes to win. Right. Two, two, three, five for sure. 50? I'm not going to get that crazy If it was five my jaw would drop

I'm hoping for at least two You know I don't want to get greedy I'm out here playing And Jeff was like oh people would pay for free I'm like yeah but would they be cutthroat for free That's true So the thing the reason I bring that up With Mike in particular is because he's someone

Who's so important to me that like if the money wasn't Big enough like I would pause And say this relationship this person means so much to me Is it worth it to blindside them Is it worth it to break their heart And send them to Ponderosa Yeah So, again, I hope that they up the ante.

I think they will. They're going all out for this season, so let's bring the money home, baby. But, yeah, no, Mike, BFF, I mean, he's really my number one. I just, we just have to mitigate, like, the appearance of that because he did. He put me in a show. But he also put Carl and Natalie and others, too. And he also put our next person, Christian. Christian!

So give me your thoughts on him. Look, I love Christian. Christian is, uh, Christian is a national treasure. He's one in a million. truly. I mean, they're just, they don't make him like Christian. They never have, they never well. They broke them old. They try to replicate him. But let's be honest.

They're all like the Kirkland brand of Christian. The Temo Christian. Tammu Christian, all right, come on. There's only one original. And I freaking love the guy. I mean, like, everyone loves him. And that's the only reason I targeted him in David versus Goliath is because I met him and I was like,

this man's a magician. This man literally is the most charming, smartest, kindest, sweetest, like, just, what? Where did you come from? He's like an alien who's just like, is great with people. Like, oh my God, like, what a churmer, you know what I mean? So, and he's so good TV. Like, he's such good TV too.

So my thought with Christian is, I love him. I just want the season to be good. We were so spoiled with David versus Goliath. It's a great season, right? It is. I think, you know, we want a bat two for two. We don't want him to be a part of the bad season. Come on, that's embarrassing.

So part of my thinking, too, honestly, is like this is in the hands of the fans. What do the fans want? The fans want Mike White. Okay, I'll be his supporting actress. I've been telling people, you know, I want to win. That's my number one goal. Win whatever it takes, but also protect Mike White at all costs, as long as it doesn't conflict with the first goal. So we're going to try to keep Mike around.

Christian, let's keep Christian around for a while. You know, Christian, maybe he's like, oh, I don't know, six, seven on the jury. I don't know. We're going to keep him as long as we can. Okay. Mike. Oh, God. I hope he stays.

But he can't beat me. And I know that he has the power to because he's literally the most brilliant, creative, kindest, funniest person on the planet. So, you know, it's hard. Yeah. These are the choices we have to make. Absolutely.

Listen, we're out of the danger zone right now. Let's get into some other people that you play with. Rick Devons. Love. Because I imagine your cast interacted a lot around that time. Yeah. And then also just Rick's just a sweetie. Like, he's also dad.

He's got good vibes. I just want good vibes. All right. Love Rick. But no, our 30s gang, I mean, literally anyone in my 30s gang, BFF. Ooh, I love that. All right. Band of Brothers.

Okay, also Christian's a Goliath. I've been telling everyone. I've got to spread the word. Christian's not a David anymore. Yeah. Christian's on season 50. He's a Goliath, okay? Very terrible listening.

The last time I was a David, this time I'm a Goliath. I told him, you got upgraded. Yeah, welcome to the club. All right? So anyways, yeah, anyone in the 30s. Yeah, where are we at? Rick, yeah, BFF. Like, sweetheart.

I could play with Rick for days. Well, let's move on from the 30s to the 40s. Let's hear your thoughts on these new era people. Oh, new era. Where are we going? No, there's some people I really am excited about. Is one of them Jonathan? No.

I mean, I want him to be on my tribe to like help the challenges in the beginning. But I mean, no, he doesn't. There's no bad blood, as Charlie would say. But like, you know, I'm neutral. I'm neutral on him. So I won't say faux, but like neutral, whatever that is. How about D? Oh, man, I have so much respect for D.

I love her. I love her. Like, Latina Queen, amazing winner, confident, just everything that, like, I want my girls to aspire to be, right? As a competitor, you know, these winners, these three, well, two, I think there's three winners. We can get to that. We can get that. These winners that are here, I'm like, y'all, did your check even finished processing the deposit? Right, right.

Like y'all have six figures in your account. Okay, and then taxes, whatever. But you're going to come out here and try to get more money from the show that you've already won. We're not going to vote for you. I'm not going to vote for you. You can play a perfect game. I'm not going to crown you again. I'm not.

Spread the wealth. I'm like a little socialist. Spread it out. Exactly. Okay, no. But I do love and respect her. Do I want to play with her for a while? We'll see.

We'll see. But I think we're going to vibe. And we have a lot in common. Like I said, respect the hell out of her. I think she's super cool. excited to meet her, but like, I, yeah, I don't think any of these winners. Again, Kyle, yeah, we'll get to Kyle, but like, yeah, we're not going to do a Tony and Sandra situation over here. How about Emily?

Neutral! Okay. Now you have a fourth category on here, just neutral, not friend or foe. I know, I know, I know, I know. Yeah, neutral. I'm just neutral. Yeah, definitely, no. I have, well, I do have a couple of the faux from the old era, but yeah, I mean, neutral.

I feel like, and there's no harp on her, but, like, I just feel like the cast, especially with these new era folks, has a lot of gamers, a lot of strategy folks. Like, we need more personality out here. Okay, we need more coach. We need more, you know, Q. So I don't know. Like, again, yeah, Emily seems brilliant. She seems likable, fine, but yeah, neutral.

Well, let's get to Q. What are your thoughts on him? Oh, I love Q. Q, I value people who are fun to watch. You know, I want good, entertaining. I don't want to just, look, I love strategy. as much as the next guy. Like, I truly do.

It's super fun for me. But, like, I want people who are going to, like, like, I love that Q had the Q skirt, and then he played hide and seek. Like, that's the kind of stuff. Like, I want to do. I already have plans. I want to host a summer solstice party.

So hopefully I'm still on the beach. Now we're talking, like, like, a gathering. Is it like Bacchanalian, like, midsamar, like. Well, if coach is with me, I feel like coach should be, like, the, I want coach to, like, lead a meditation. Gotcha.

I want people, I'm going to invite people. people to come and bring something that they want to set and something they want to rise. Because it's the longest day of the year. So it's like, what do we want to like an intention to like something we want to let go up, something we want to like make more of? You know what I mean? And then people can bring whatever the, you know, potlick style on the beach. Yeah. You know, who knows? Maybe Dee will lead like a yoga session or something. I don't know. Yeah. You know. But yeah, that's one of the things I have in mind. So I want people like that. Like people who are going to like just bring that creativity and that like zest to the game.

Well, let's talk about someone who might bring a few Taylor Swift songs. brain. What are your thoughts on Charlie? Oh, neutral. I mean, again, I loved watching him. I feel for him with that loss. That was rough. Yeah. But again, it's like, similar to him as like Emily, where it's like a great strategist, you know, I don't know.

Neutral. How about Tiffany? I like her. I like her. I actually, I've talked to Kenzie quite a bit, and I know she and Kenzie are close. And I know that Tiff is like Kenzie's girl. Like she is rooting for her, their besties. Um, so I feel like, I feel like Tiffany and I're going to get along really well. So I'll say friend. Genevieve.

Mm. Neutral. Again, just so many brainiacs. I mean, Genevieve's giving me like spy vibes. Spy vibes. Like, like, I won't say, I won't say like Russian spy, but like spy vibes. Like, I feel like she's like, her hair's a little shorter and like a little darker and I'm like, she got her glasses.

She's a lawyer. I'm like, she's giving me spy vibes. Mm. And someone told me from the new era. that she's a really good liar and to be careful playing with her. Interesting. I won't say who I won't out them, but, um, so you know, you gotta just take it all into account. Yeah.

Again, brilliant, beautiful, like all the things, but again, just so many, who decided to put so many of these, like, strategists from the new era on? I don't know. Well, that's the choice. That said. And you know what? You know what I've been saying? They couldn't make the cuts, so we're going to have to make the cuts.

Okay. Be the casting producer you wish to see in the world. There we go. Be what you want to be. Well, let's talk about three very recent faces. Joe, Camilla, Kyle. What are your thoughts on them? Look, 48, they're lovely.

You know, having three people from 48 was also a choice, though. I will say selfishly, and grateful they have these, like, three sets of three because I think it helps diffuse a little bit of the attention from the Goliaths. But Joe, I mean, Joe, my mom friends called Joe Zaddy. And I'm sure if you ask him that, he would have no idea what that means. I'm going to tell him when I meet him. There we go. My friend's called his daddy.

He's like, thank you. I know, I know. No, he seems so kind. And yeah, I mean, obviously, yeah. And then Kyle, Kyle I really like. I think, I actually really want to play with Kyle, again, insuffar that, you know, he doesn't beat me. And get more money than he already has. Literally, he just won.

But no, Kyle, great vibes. Yeah. I'll put him, I'll put, I'll put, I'll put those two into the friend category for sure, without hesitation. Camilla, I'll put in neutral. Okay. Loved watching her play. She's also brilliant.

But again, I just feel like we have a lot of similar folks from the new era. Yeah. But maybe they'll surprise me. I'm open to surprise this. Look, I'll put it this way. I'm open for business with anyone. Mm-hmm. All right?

I'm not going in there with a cross to bear to anyone except for maybe Colby. But everyone else, let's be besties. You know what I mean? Like, let's do it. Does that include the two mystery 49ers at this point, or are they neutral for you? I'll put it off. Rizzo for sure neutral. Yeah, I mean, he's interesting.

Like, he doesn't give out any vibe. Like, he's really working overtime to just be like stone cold poker face, which is, okay, maybe he's intimidated. I mean, he's young. He's probably not. I mean, but you hear him on the promo. Okay, the last we heard from 49 was the promo where Rizzo's calling himself the Riz God and the man the myth of the legend.

And then we're out here, and the boy is just poker face, nothing, zilch. Savannah, she's like a nice vibe, but she's giving off millionaire vibes. Oh, interesting. This girl is walking around like a winner. Okay, I'm sorry, I'm not sorry. Okay, I can, this is your new self-aware queen. Yeah, there we go. This is the new is Selena 2.0.

She looks at someone and you see their net worth above their head. That girl's walking around with six figures under bank account, okay? And she's coming for more money, which respect. respect Savannah. I really, she seems amazing. She's beautiful. She's given poverty energy.

But the girl's got, she literally just got her check two weeks ago. Like, she could have stayed here. She could have just been staying on the beach for us to come back and play. Like she didn't even need to take a flight back to L.A. So,

no, I mean, I'll put, yeah, Rizzo, neutral. And Savannah, I mean,

I do really like her energy. I'll say friend, but again, I'm not going to let a win or win again. So, sorry baby. Who is one person speaking of this casting producer hat that you wish was out here for 50? Oh, Davey. I know it would have been too many for David versus Goliath, but he's my boy and I know he really, really wants to play again. So I'm hoping, I'm manifesting for a survivor world that there's more returning seasons than your future.

And I hope he gets that call because he deserves to play again. Let me finish with a very odd question, admittedly. The loved ones visit happens, but you can only bring a celebrity or a fictional character out. Who would you pick and why? Oh, my gosh. So, funny enough, my husband joked about, I don't know, I'll say she's a celebrity because we're Z-list. My husband joke, he's like, I'm going to, if it's a loved one, then we get to bring more than one person, he's like, I'm going to bring Kara Kay and Adam Klein as like our family. because I'm really close to Kara in real life now

and then Adam and I there's that whole history The whole Stanford connection He's the reason I'm even here in the first place because I was found on his friends page from casting So anyways, very love them to death But I'll keep it fun and I'll say Kara Kay Because she would be like the ultimate cheerleader

Hype Girl And she would get me right She would do my hair and And pump me up So she's my celebrity I have no idea if Angelina Summer Solstice party will come to fruition. But regardless, it was quite the party getting to sit down and talk with her.

Angelina is one of the most confident survivor players that we have had in recent years. And even in spite or perhaps because of all the change that has gone through in her life, she enters an even more confident version of herself. And I think that means we're in for a very fun time with her. Plus she like, loki did six, seven, I think by accident in the interview. Let me know if you clock that. We saw her play long ago. And to be honest, I think a lot of us were surprised to find out that Aubrey Brocko would be returning to Survivor to play for the fourth time. That is, of course, not to disparage anything that Aubrey has brought to our screens the previous three times. I mean, if you were in those Survivor streets in the first half of...

of 2016. You know how much of a dialogue, ironically speaking, there was about Aubrey and the way that Survivor Co-Rong ended. But I think a lot of people felt that due to how everything went down on Survivor Edge of Extinction and Aubrey sort of removing herself from the fan community, many thought that she had no desire to play again. O Contrere, my friends, because Aubrey Braco tells me me in our interview that she is in the best headspace to play since her survivor career started. Now, part of it might have been because she has spent so much time away. I mean, she played in three out of several seasons. Now she has had some time away from the beach, has started a family, has started her own small business, and now she's ready to make Survivor her business once

more. Just a little bit you might want to know about Aubrey nowadays. Aubrey is currently 39 years old, originally from, and currently lives in Hampton Falls, New Hampshire. So, grab an egg, get out of the middle of the road, and check out my interview with Aubrey. I'm so surprised to see you here. I think a lot of people are probably surprised to see me here. Well, I think because you went through, you know, such an incredibly fast pace of seasons. And I know that I'm, I'm so Identification, at least from our perspective, is not necessarily the most. See, even the gesture from that seems to indicate it's not necessarily, you know, the most positive note to end on. No.

So how did this happen? Was this always something that you were, you were mulling over to play again? Or was it like when 50 came up, you felt at the right time. This was good for time number four. Well, first of all, I'm shocked I was called. I'm so incredibly honored. I was called. There are so many players.

So many incredible players where in Survivor, I don't ever think any more. deserves anything. You have to, you earn it and it's a lot of luck. And so I was shocked to even be called. Was it on my mind? I came to peace with the fact that my survivor journey was over on the edge of extinction. I remember going into day, and the edge of extinction days, I don't care what anyone says, those count.

Day 105 to 111, I remember like savoring each moment because I didn't think I'd be here. here again. Yeah. And it was really funny. I was doing Talking to Teabird last July. And she's just so warm. And when I heard it was T-Bird, I was like, I'll talk to T-Bird. Yeah.

Not many people I'll talk to. And it was a really positive conversation. And she and Rob asked about 50. And I was like, huh. And then Q voted out Mariah because she was me or whatever. And I was like, that's funny. And I really did step back from this. survivor community. Yeah. I do find it to be so rewarding and incredibly toxic. I'm okay saying that.

It's an incredible duality, yeah. It's an incredible duality. And I did. I played three times in four calendar years. So I paid 32, 34, 38. I didn't have time to step back and you really do learn a lot. I have to unpack a lot. I didn't have a chance to regulate back to normal life. And I felt like I was no longer grounded and no longer myself. So when they called for 50, just, the chance to have, like, a reconciliation and to go back with myself, but also, like, the game that I love with such an honor. Yeah. Well, let's talk about this because you talk about getting regulated.

Like, you have done so many incredible things in the intervening years, become a mother. Thank you so much. Yeah. I've gone back to normal life. Yeah. So then what is your headspace approaching this? Because I know these are life-changing events. Does it affect the way that you're approaching yet another life-changing event here?

Yeah. I mean, in the time since I played in 38, I met my wonderful partner, Tyler. I moved out of Los Angeles up to Oregon during the pandemic. My father had a heart transplant, which was incredibly arduous for my family. He's doing well. Shout out to the Mass General Hospital. I see you and cardiac team. I started a business.

I have my own marketing business. I'm never going back to full time. And I had an amazing baby named Odin, which means, God of chaos and wisdom. I love the dualities. We call them Odie. So just my perspective on life has changed. I mean, it's like I'm here because I want to have fun and I want to be fearless and I want to get back to the game that I love on my terms. Yeah, and that's the thing is that, you know, edge of extinction for a number of reasons. I mean, again, co-wrong, you know, what's co-wrong? What could go wrong and co-wrong? Exactly. Game changers, though, you make

another deep run. Edge of extinction, you know, it's an early boot. You go out with an idol and you You spend your time until the end of the game. So how much do you feel like that last experience in particular is kind of informing the way that you're approaching time number four? Yeah, so my last experience, how is it informing time number four? I know what it feels like to be blindsided. A lot of the players here do not know that. Or don't know it in the same way that I do. Some of them have been voted out.

Some of them saw it coming. I was fully blindsided. and so I know what that feels like. I also know what it's like when you just are not yourself and you are not present. And so now I want to get back to, I feel the closest to myself that I have since, if that makes sense, since 32. Yeah.

I feel the most like myself, but more polished version. Like I learned a lot. I thought I played a really good game in 34. A lot of people are like, what did you do? I had to hide behind threats that kept getting killed off. I kept hat. Not to mention you were coming in as one of those aforementioned threats. I was one of the Co-Rong 4.

We had aired almost like the 48-3. And not only that, you were just coming from it. Maybe we'll get into this, this was come to these other players, this idea of like she was one of the most robbed finalists in survivor history, et cetera, et cetera. It was wild. I have this huge, like, who is she, this big mystique.

I still feel like people don't know. Like, Zeke once famously said to me, or famously in my life story, said to me, Aubrey, people see whatever they want to see when I look at you. and yeah so those glasses are reflective it's like a mirror these glasses are like a fun house mirror what would you say is one thing that you are doing similar to your previous seasons that you're bringing into 50 and one thing you're doing differently this time around yeah so one thing I'm doing similarly is making those one-on-one connections like I did in colon I really believe that you can

have someone who is your ally who's your heart like Joe Del Campo 71 and getting it done 80 and still great 80 like Sydney was my strategic ally

we saw the game eye to eye tie was my energetic connection we just felt the vibe so you're gonna see me really work on those relationships

I know the game moves fast but I think you have to really be in tune with your gut when you feel something with someone and figure out what that is real fast and something you're going to see different Yeah.

Is that I'm a little bit more role with the punches. Like, if something goes wrong, like, I think it's the entrepreneurial spirit in me now. I'm like, oh, celebrate failure, move on. Hmm. I feel like I burn a lot less energy when things go awry. I have more perspective now. Yeah, and I think as well, especially in, like, a game that's shortened or more fast-paced, it's like, I can't afford to necessarily be bogged down in the past.

There's a present I need to focus on. Yeah, there's a, the present is moving fast, and if you don't get there, the rug's going to be ripped at. out from under you. Well, let's get into some of these maybe future strategic social number ones. I'm going to play a game right now. It's called friend or foe. Oh, shit. That's my reaction I want. We're going to go through the cast and you can tell me whether this person's either a friend, someone right now you're your vime and go with you want to join up with them or a foe. Either someone you're not viving with well right now or like you could possibly target down the line. I feel like there's proceed with cautions too. Oh, always. I'm like for everybody here.

Okay, we can do a third category. You want to do this? For everybody here, I'm just like, uh, you cut me at final six, so you have to go at final eight. Yeah. That's the vibe. Okay. All right, well, let's start here. Okay, go ahead. Jenna. Jenna, um, middle category?

Middle category. Proceed with caution. Interesting. Yeah, any particular reason why anything you're picking up from her? I feel like she's going to be a someone that a lot of people want to work in. How about Colby? Friend. Okay.

Nice. Have you talked before prior, like just in general from the survivor community? No. No. No. He just very stable. vibe. I always need like a stability. Stephanie.

Friend to a point. Okay, interesting. Is that point just like, I know I have to turn on her, or is it like I'm suspecting she might turn on me? I think she could say something wrong and blow something out. Ooh, okay. Let's open up Panzer's box here. Talk about Surrey. Oh, Surrey. I've done a lot of thinking about Surrey. She's a friend. Yeah. To a point, but it's at what point. Yeah. She's someone I deeply care about. I have been effusive in my love of Surrey, but I know that she's stab me in the back and I wouldn't see it coming. How about your fellow game changer, Ozzy?

Oh my gosh. Ozzy's a friend, but we are so, like, just distant. My, okay, 34. My only conversation with Ozzy was the night he got voted out. The first time we met was like right after the merge. He goes, hey, we should talk sometime. I'm like, yeah, we should. And then he was gone.

I love Ozzy. He's a friend, but it depends. Ozzie friend depending on where the cards fall. in terms of swaps and stuff. How about coach? Oh my gosh, friend. Coach is a loon and I love it. I get a goodbye from coach.

I feel like I could talk about some weird stuff with coach. I feel like I got a little bit of that Renaissance person. He's almost like the more stable Debbie before we had calling out. That's what people were saying at the time, right? It was like they were saying, oh, Debbie's the new coach. Now you get to see the proto Debbie. I love him. Yeah.

All right, let's get to some of your people in the 30s. 30s. How about Chrissy? Mm. Mm. Why's that? She's just savage. Gotcha.

Gotcha. How about, let's go over our David for Skythe group, Angelina. Friend. Me's friend. Friend. Okay, let's let's do it on that first little label a little bit. Is it just that, again, is another one of like, I think there's something she might do later on.

Oh, I think she's really crafty. And I'm like, what are you going to do? But I feel like we could be friends, like, we could be friends. How about Christian? Friend. Yeah. I mean, I would imagine it's a... I mean, it could very much be like

only one person with glasses can stand on this island. Yeah, friends. The two of you seem like a very similar speed. Yeah, I really get a good bite from him. I think we're like the same age too. How about Mike White? Oh, my gosh. I don't know.

Oh, okay. Proceed with caution, it sounds like. I'm here... Mike White doesn't proceed with caution because I'm like, I really like you, but everybody's going to want to be on the White Lotus. So that's going to be like, you're going to be a magnet.

But then I'm also like, I really like you because I can see observing all of us and you're writing the next season right now. Yeah. All right. Let's talk about an interesting one. Okay. Rick Devons. Oh.

That look you just gave. I don't. Rick has been very kind to me. So kind. I don't trust him as far as I can throw him. Interesting. But I love him. But I don't trust him.

And it's interesting because obviously the two of you spend time in the pre-merge. I give extinction. but otherwise you kind of were just watching him play the rest of the season. Is it from that perspective? Just like what he was pulling off there. Rick is someone who's been incredibly kind to me in real life. Our relationship's always been like real life. And that time you watched me from the jury kind of

and married Chris and I on the edge of extinction briefly. I don't know. Devons is a really scary player. He finds stuff. Well, let's get into the new era. I mean, try to get your thoughts on the new era players. Let's go. Jonathan.

Um, not sure. Hmm. Probably friends, but I don't know. I'm not sure yet. Just a vibes thing? Yeah, I'm not sure. Just vibes. I haven't had enough time around him.

I don't know. How about D? Oh, my gosh. I want her to be my best friend because who doesn't? I absolutely love how she thinks about the game. I think she's a genius. I think she's an entrepreneur. I think she's a vision and I think she loves people, but she scares me just as much as

Surrey. Hmm, interesting. Mm-hmm. She's amazing. You can tell. D walks in a room and it's just like magic butterflies. How about Emily? I love Emily.

I haven't had enough time like viving with her, but friend. All right. Let's go to 46 here. Charlie. Oof. I wanted to say friends, but I'm feeling foe. I feel I'm so torn on Charlie. I'm not, I feel like everyone's going to want to be buddies with him,

but I also think I want to talk to Charlie about his mindset about what he's bringing into the game from his time, because I think it's going to dictate how he plays. Well, I think it's this incredibly, you know, I don't even say similar situation, you're both from Massachusetts, but this idea of like, again, he's walking into a season that he lost in a very close vote that some felt like he should have won. So it could be interesting to have you sort of come in and be like, I know a bit of the feeling, you know? Yeah, I know a bit of the feeling.

I feel like the like edge of extinction, that tactic of like, I was in your shoes, having a dialogue. I don't say that word anymore. Didn't work. So, yeah, Charlie's interesting. I need to get a beat on him. Let's talk about Q. A big Q.

Yes. I mean, I got to wonder, so what was your first reaction when you hear Mariah not only bring it up, but Q being like, that's a reason while you're gone. I was like, you gotta be kidding me, dude. Like, I flopped hard.

Like, you think that much of me? Thank you. I'll take it. Like, I flopped hard. You think that much of me? I'll take it. I know he has a wanted poster of me in his kitchen.

Q is so. interesting to me. Like I'm definitely a big red flag, but I'm also so intrigued. I just want to talk to him because I think we might have like more in common than he thinks. Like I have a kid who's under two. He just had a baby. He's a hustling real estate agent. I'm like building my own business. I Q, oh, but Q's so chaotic. I'm like that control freak thing is going to come out. I'm more apt to let Q kind of blow himself up, but we'll see. Maybe we'll Yeah, you put on like the detonator gloves, like, all right, I'm going to handle this explosion. Q feels like someone that you need to be untangling the wires and the bomb, like the movie's speed.

How about Tiffany? Friend, I like Tiffany, but I'm also getting some weird vibes of I don't know where she's going to fall. There's also the Q of it all. So I know that she had a tempestuous relationship with Q, so I feel like Tiffany's a friend. But proceed with caution because it depends on what tribe she's on. I really love how Tiffany played the game. I think that she was underrated. How about Genevieve?

Oh, my gosh. Another proceed with caution. She does give me Gone Girl vibes. Like, like, from the actress, like the actual character from Gone Girl? I just feel like Genevide would commit a murder and then clean up so expertly that you wouldn't, you wouldn't like even ever say she was a suspect. Genovese are proceed with caution I want to be friends of her but I'm like be careful

can you tell I have the same answer for everybody pretty much Well let's get into 48 Let's see if that answer holds Let's talk about another Joe Friend I haven't had much time to vibe with him There's something about Joe Where I can tell that he wears his heart on his sleeve

Oh yeah He's a very emotional guy I also like I'm genuinely curious Even more so than Charlie about how he's doing I mean, same position of we're a week out from watching a finale, where we lost. We may have known we were going to lose, but now we're grappling with the public's perception of it, how we saw it on TV, and it's got to be so raw and fresh for him. Oh, yeah.

I like him. How about Camilla? Oh, my gosh, I love her. She scares me. I'm like, friend, friend, friend, scary in the woods, but I know she'll kill me off at some point, but I like her. The 48s have a nice five to them. Is Kyle included in that?

Yeah, Kyle's a pursuit of caution. I mean, he's a master at being engaged, but like not too much. I like Kyle. Let's talk about the 49ers because you face it. 49ers. Ooh, yeah, the 49ers. It's so funny. Because you faced a situation in game changers, right, where you had McAiland Z.

You didn't know about what they did previously. You just knew they did enough to be a game changer. So what are you perceiving from the two of them right now? Savannah has some harbitty vibes. Hmm, interesting. And Rizzo could go anywhere. Okay. I'm not sure, but I like them.

And so does that preclude you to want to work with them, or are you like these are unknown factors I can recruit to my side? I would love to work with the 49ers. They are probably a little scared coming in, but I actually think they're in a good position. I think everybody's going to be kind of going for them. I'm open to it. I'm getting into this game.

I'm so receptive. Um, not in a, like I, there's a softer side to me, I think, having a kid and going through what I have with Survivor, like I want the players to be okay. Yeah. But it's also good in that I feel like my Spitey sense is back online and I'm very receptive to the vibes. Yeah, you're ready to swing through these jungles again. I am. Who is one person from a previous season that you wish was on Survivor 50? I wish, I wish that Kelly Wentworth was on Survivor 50 because she's a friend.

And I wish Omar was on Survivor, 50. How the two of you connected before? Omar and I have briefly connected, more on a human level about kind of sometimes the fallout after this game and how hard it can be. Yeah, that's amazing. Let me present a very odd scenario to you to finish things off. Oh, Lord, let's do it.

It's the loved ones visit, but you can only bring a celebrity or a fictional character out as your loved one. Who would you pick and why? What a question? A celebrity or a fiction? fictional character on my loved ones visit. And this is so this could be, you know, someone you've always wanted to meet or someone who could help you, give you advice.

I would ask Don Draper to join me to hear about all the things that I shouldn't do to mess at my life. I love that too. Don't be like me, Aubrey. Or to be like, all right, here's a perfect final travel council pitch. Like, this game is a wheel. Exactly. This game is a carousel.

with people that have spoken with her in the days before her variety of Survivor seasons, it really does seem like night and day between her last stint in Fiji and this one. Aubrey really does seem cool, calm, and collected. And I think she feels both at peace and incredibly confident in the way that she is approaching the game, in a way that she really hasn't before. It really goes to show, I think, how a break from Survivor and myriad life changes can truly fundamentally modify the way you approach a massive game like this, as much as you thought you knew everything before it.

Now, of course, the full circle aspect is Aubrey feeling like she can truly embrace the game in the way she did during Kowong. And considering what she was able to do, then, that can mean a lot of really fun things. And hopefully you experienced a lot of really fun things today in my kickoff to the VATU tribe.
