And that's unfortunate for me. But I guess the good news is, get the chance to talk to John about everything that we saw from the Survivor premiere. So that's what's coming up here in this podcast. John is going to call in. We have the video for this up on our YouTube page at robinswebsite.com slash YouTube. First of a busy day of podcasts for me as we get into the Survivor Know-It-Alls
Starting point is 00:01:48 with Stephen Fishback. And of course, you can hear that when you're subscribed to the podcast. Go to weknowsurvivor.com to subscribe for our Survivor podcast feed. Also in this podcast, Jordan Kalish is going to be back with another season of This Week in Survivor History.
Starting point is 00:02:03 Little bit of a twist. You heard John Lovett talk about Jeff. So I was like, apply to be on Survivor. Well, we did that with our patrons this season, and I am going to be taking on patrons who, of course, applied to take me on in This Week in Survivor History. You can hear the audio here. We're going to post the video of Twish up on our Patreon page for free. All you have to do is go there and you can become a free patron. You get access to all of our free posts there at robhasawebsite.com slash patron. So you can check that out. But we have John Lovett here on the line. Let's go ahead and bring in John. Hey, John. Good morning. Rob Sestranino. I am so bummed out
Starting point is 00:02:55 to have you only in our survivor world for one exciting day, but gone too soon. exciting day, but gone too soon. Gone but not forgotten. One day so far. One day so far. One day so far. Okay. John, I watched the episode last night. I felt like you're doing great. I really thought that you had so much going your way. I was not feeling like that you were in danger. And then we get to the vote and then they're all for you. Well, what happened? So what such an important question. Yeah. So I've thought about this and I, so there's after the, the, the immunity challenges before the immunity challenge after the immunity challenge, you think through all the different ways, a challenge could go, a vote could go, relationships could go,
Starting point is 00:03:55 strategy could go. I, I did not think enough about maybe Maybe I couldn't have thought that much about what happens if somebody really loses it. But, you know, you used we've all seen people kind of lose it and we've all seen people turn on their alliances. It's rare to put them together, rare to put them together. Maybe never before have anyone seen anything like that. rare to put them together. Maybe never before have anyone seen anything like that. And so if Andy doesn't flip out, I think there's a lot of different paths. It could have gone and I would have, I think, been okay. What would have happened had you just lost the challenge in a regular fashion? So obviously it's hypothetical, but my, what I had expected and hoped for is I had actually had a good relationship with Annika.
Starting point is 00:04:52 The reason the book ends up on her is complicated. And there's a lot of pieces you don't see, but I had hoped and expected that Annika would have pulled in Rachel. I would have pulled in Andy and I would have pulled in Andy, and that would have been a four. There were a few reasons for that, but there's just a natural affinity there. Now, I did not see just how much there had been a moment where Andy had alienated Rachel a bit, but I still think there was some connection with me and Anika. We could have pulled in Rachel. That was a natural group. But once Andy does that, it really narrows the possibilities. We get back and the conversation is pretty
Starting point is 00:05:39 neat and clean, which is we got to get rid of Andy. Yeah. But I just didn't believe it at all. Like this is what's, what was frustrating about all of this is like, it's not like I went in the, into this with any kind of unawareness. Like I really was, I felt like I understood what was going on. We got that. We get that. You know, very seriously and you did a ton of research to get to this point. So when you have that conversation with the three women and they're telling you, okay, it's Andy and you're not buying it, do you feel like that knowing what you know now, that they were being straight with you? Or do you feel like that you putting the Anika name out there ultimately got it back to you? No, I feel very confident
Starting point is 00:06:31 that what I was sensing was true. Yeah. That I feel very confident that what I was sensing was true, that the vote was on me and it was to tell Andy, it was me. Tell me it was Andy tried to get me to not play the shot in the dark. I was a threat and he was not. And the challenge I had. Right. And the reason I ultimately tried to pull in really was Andy, because I do think he actually was uncertain, even though it was obvious to me that he was safe. it was obvious to me that he was safe. That that because Anika's name had been floated before to try to get the vote on Anika, because basically, how do you persuade a group of people to vote for Andy when they're already telling you the vote is Andy?
Starting point is 00:07:19 Right. Like, that's such a strange like, hey, like, it's I think pretty clear to all of us. We need to vote Andy. We all agree. Shit. Like, I don't, I like, and there was moments I like had a pretty direct conversation with Rachel about this, which is like, Rachel, I understand you're telling me that it's Andy. And I understand why you're doing that.
Starting point is 00:07:39 I'm asking, can we please get a group together right now and have a serious conversation about why it actually should be right like I was there was a there's a bunch of different things I was trying it was basically as we headed into tribal I was like do I play the shot in the dark if I don't have a regret about it but I do think it would have been really funny and I thought about doing this of like before I went up and voted dumping my bag out and taking out the shot in the dark in front of everybody and going and playing it. But that is how sure I basically felt like it wasn't whether or not the vote was on me. It was what do I think is more likely a one in six chance with a shot in the dark or the chances that I've
Starting point is 00:08:18 actually pulled off getting the vote off of me. And I really felt like it was a wash, like a one in six in both directions. Like I had a small chance in both directions and I decided I'd rather go out voting than not voting. Sure. So we saw you doing your best to try to connect with the group. Do you feel like that you made strides in connecting with them? connecting with them? Yes. Like, uh, uh, you know, it's such a short period of time and like, you're, you're thinking like, have I built enough with this group of people? Have I not? Like, I obviously would have liked more time, but like, uh, I don't think this was like a social.
Starting point is 00:09:09 And I, and I'm really trying to be honest about it. Like this wasn't a social issue that played out. Right. Like I think everybody like, and you saw Andy kind of basically flip out and be like, Oh, people like John, they don't like me. People, everyone likes each other. Like that really was the feeling. And so I really do think it was much more of, well, John's clearly a threat. Andy no longer is.
Starting point is 00:09:32 Maybe he's a little stronger in challenges, maybe not. But this guy needs us now. He's just imploded in front of everybody. Can you size up the rest of this group? I think we got a pretty clear picture about Andy and where he's at from the episode. But could you tell us your perception
Starting point is 00:09:49 of the rest of this group? No. No, I can't. No, I don't. I don't. I don't. Look, I, you know, I've got to be,
Starting point is 00:09:58 I'm going to be good. Rob, there's so much I could tell you. Yeah. There's so much to come. No doubt. Yeah. Okay, we'll keep watching. We were you. Yeah. There's so much to come. No doubt. Yeah. Okay. We'll keep watching.
Starting point is 00:10:06 We were on the fence. Listen, if people feel so brokenhearted about my absence that they're going to, no, I'm kidding. No, everybody should keep watching. It's a great, there's a lot to come. You said your friends and family are going to let you have it over this. What's been the response to you being the first out? I'll tell you.
Starting point is 00:10:31 Like, I was bummed about being the first out. And there was, I think, the real reason and the kind of shallow reason. The real reason is I wanted to play more. And I felt like I had a lot more to, like, I just, this was an unusual, unprecedented situation. And so like, I feel bummed about that. The shallow reason was like, oh, everybody's going to see this. Like, you know, I've, you know, you've been through this.
Starting point is 00:10:53 You're basically putting on my Google calendar. Everyone's going to make fun of you on this day. Like, that's a strange thing to see coming up. But actually, like, I thought people would be a little bit meaner. But wait, what were you gonna say that's every day for me john oh that's every day that's every day uh but so i actually like i both like publicly and like from friends and family everybody's pretty mad i like i've been genuinely surprised by just how much the reaction is sort of like this is bullshit uh like
Starting point is 00:11:23 what this that we wanted more and And also like, this was such a strange situation. You sort of didn't get the full experience. So I look, I get the right balance of people mad on my behalf and mocking me for my friends and family. Yeah. There was a lot of interest from people who are fans of your work. Uh, and I would like to add that Love It or Leave It, very fun listen for me on the weekend to the live show. And I think people are really bummed out that we don't get to get your Survivor takes anymore. You watch the whole show in private, didn't tell anybody. We get you for one night and then that's it. Are you done talking about Survivor?
Starting point is 00:12:02 No, now I'm in it. Now I'm in it, Rob. that's it are you done talking about survivor no now i'm in it now i'm in it rom and uh like i i feel like so i had watched and not told everybody that i was catching up because i didn't want to be spoiled but now i'm now i'm in it now i'm caught up now i can talk about it and like i love talking about survivor i love getting to do survivor like i don't have any regrets about it it was like a fascinating, rewarding experience. And by the way, like, and I obviously can't go into it, but like Ponderosa, like when people get voted off survivor, myself included, you figure out the story you tell, not just the world, but the one you tell yourself about what happened.
Starting point is 00:12:39 Right. And you start figuring out the little pieces of the narrative you like that make you feel better and the ones you kind of cast aside. But when people get voted off for that first couple of hours, they are so raw and they have so much information and they're just spilling about what happened. Yeah. And I learn more about Survivor from each player as they were voted off than I did in watching or even being a part of it. I sincerely like you learn so much in those moments before people have figured out how they're going to talk about it. They just lay it all out there. And so that did leave me, did leave me wanting more, I will say. Now, would you do it again?
Starting point is 00:13:23 Would you do it again, Rob? The answer is yes. Okay. All right. You could answer for both of us. You could answer for both of us. I would. Listen, but how many 40-something white podcasters can they have, John?
Starting point is 00:13:40 Well, they can have, I think, two. Okay. All right. Fine. Fair enough. No, I love getting to do it. I've been my, I don't care that like, oh, I have a first boot, obviously not ideal. Like I wanted to play more. I had more that I could do.
Starting point is 00:13:56 And I was excited about all the different parts of it. So like, obviously I went to play survivor. I would like to play more. Um, yeah. Okay. went to play survivor i would like to play more um yeah okay john what could you tell us about uh the whole situation with andy watching it play out in real time and we get a version on television but what was it like in the real time for you it was confusing it was it was confusing was just confusing. Like in the moment,
Starting point is 00:14:26 while we're standing there on the mat, it's like, you're like, is this real? Is this maneuvering? Is it a, is it a paranoia? Is it a combination of both? It's hard to know what to believe. Like you can't, and like, you you were like is this it first of all like I you I could vaguely you see it in the thing I say something like is he I think he's all right like I like because I was I could hear a little bit of the conversation that was happening around to him and I was hearing like Dr. Joe being like you're okay you're just hot or overheating you're fine like you know you just just just like take them out. Like, so it was very clear pretty quickly that he's like, fine. And so then you're thinking like, is he just trying to stop the challenge? Is he trying to,
Starting point is 00:15:14 like, is this, is this like what's happening? Right. And then he throws my name out there and it's like, like, again, like, is this a move? I guess he says it isn't okay. And like, you know, you're watching something unfold. Like, like, oh, someone's like really breaking down in front of you. Like how do you react to that? I don't know. I don't know. I thought you handled that incredibly well when he threw your name out there. I thought you, your answer in the moment was, was really, really great. Well, all I was trying to do, all I was trying to do is get out of this with some optionality, right? Like, cause what there's, I thought about, I was like, I could hit him back or be angry at him or deny it. I could make this more of a thing,
Starting point is 00:16:02 but really all I was thinking is like, I need to get out of this with Andy not thinking he's lost me. Right. So that if I need to go back to him, I can still do that while at the same time trying to like keep myself aligned with the rest of the group. Right. Like it was a very delicate and confusing thing. Yeah. Now, John, your appeal to swing voters on the Gada tribe may have fallen on deaf ears, but is there anything that you would want to direct the attention to of any potential American swing voters? Yes. Hey, listen, you see what happens when a vote doesn't go your way. I will be doing an insurrection in episode two, which you can all look forward to. We have less than seven weeks until the election.
Starting point is 00:16:50 Everybody go to Vote Save. This is a show about voting. It's a show about how important your vote is. Go to votesaveamerica.com, sign up, make sure you're registered, make sure your friends and family are registered, and then do one more thing than you otherwise would have done.
Starting point is 00:17:04 One volunteer shift, one small donation. Vote Save America will show you the best ways to help, the most effective ways to help. Please, please, please do me a favor and go. Shouldn't they have put you on the blue tribe? Wouldn't that have made sense? Yeah, sure. Anywhere but where I was. It couldn't have got, hey, Rob, couldn't have gone worse. Yeah. Uh, John, I, I'm, I'm very bummed out, uh, to, to lose you this soon, but, uh, with, we'll be following for, uh, more survivor takes and please, uh, more Alison Reese. Okay. Absolutely. Absolutely.
Starting point is 00:17:39 Okay. Yeah. If you, by the way, if you, if you, if you wish you had more of me, you can get plenty of me at pod save America and love it or leave it. Yep. Okay. All right. I think that you must have had like a huge, you being on Survivor was a huge bump for the show because it seems like it's doing great.
Starting point is 00:17:55 A lot of interest this summer. Yeah. I agree, Rob. I agree. And you know what? I think that's something that everybody should keep in mind over there. All right. Jeff, you hear that? You hear what Rob said?
Starting point is 00:18:06 Yeah. OK. I know you need to run. All right. Thanks so much, John. Take care. Thanks, Rob. All right, everybody. There you have it. There's John Lovett on the podcast. You know, boy, John seems like he's more into Survivor after all this. You definitely could have, you know, seen a scenario where he's like like what the hell i didn't need this aggravation i come out here to do this show they get rid of me like uh to hell with survivor but that does not seem like uh that is where uh john's head is at moving forward so uh we'll see what else uh he may have to say. Very interesting. He was conducting exit interviews
Starting point is 00:18:45 with the players who come out. Promises a lot more excitement along the way. We didn't get that much more about the dynamic of the Gada tribe, but I guess we'll have to just keep watching. I won't keep watching. I'm not going to quit the show. I'm going to keep going. And we're going to keep going with a little this week in Survivor history. We've got a new twist on the old game coming up when we come back right after this. So it's a new year. You know what that means, setting big goals. Maybe you promised yourself you're going to hit the gym every day, or maybe you said you're going to learn to make fire with a flint for once, or the classic save more money. Starting point is 00:21:30 Travel moves us. All right, we're back with another season of Twish this week in Survivor history. Now entering what feels like its 400th season of being a part of Robbitt's podcast. And back with us, the man who writes all of the Twitch questions every week. It's Jordan Kalish. Jordan, how are you? I'm doing great, Robb. Yes, it has. It has been a long time. I feel like when we started this podcast, I was I was just a guy on the Internet writing poorly worded trivia questions
Starting point is 00:22:04 and teaching and coaching in his free time. So look, look where I've come. Look how far you've come. I've gotten so far. Nice to hear your voice, Jordan. How was your summer? Summer was fantastic. I would say Rob, the best, best summer of my life. I had a great time. Why? Yes. I, cause I stayed inside and watched a big brother live feeds the whole time. No, stop it. You never watched a second of Big Brother Live Feeds in your life. So I went to Europe, Rob. I've had this idea in my head for a long time where I wanted to do a long trip to Europe. I'm a teacher, so I'm off during the summer.
Starting point is 00:22:36 Sabatical. Yep, sabatical. Yeah. So I took five weeks and I went all over Europe. I had a great time, went with some friends, and it was really incredible. I think if you ever have the opportunity to do something like this, you're never going to get the time back. Leave the country for five weeks, you say. That's a good, let me make a note of that.
Starting point is 00:22:55 I'll try that sometime. Leave for five weeks, come back, and you won't be a whole different person. I'm the same person. I don't think I grew in any way, but I did have a good time. Okay. I heard it could be life-changing.
Starting point is 00:23:11 Okay. Anyway, Jordanordan we have something big planned this season because last season i took on the survivors it you know what i i don't remember how it went i'm sure it was fine but this season i said what if we got to hear from our amazing Rob as a Podcast patrons, and we asked them to make a video, apply today, if you're up for the challenge of taking me on in this week in Survivor history. And so each week we will hear from one of our patrons who, of course, patrons, the heartbeat of Rob as a Podcast, amazing supporters of all patrons the heartbeat of robinson podcast uh amazing supporters of all of the nonsense and each week we ask them to make a video application and they have done so
Starting point is 00:23:53 we will share the video and then hear from our combatant here to take me on this weekend survivor history it's lila lila how are you i'm doing so good how I'm so excited to be here I'm so excited to have you here we saw your video and thought you'd be great for twish but if anybody missed it uh could you tell us a little bit about yourself yeah so I'm Lila I'm 21 years old, so I think I might be your youngest trivia opponent. You're younger than Survivor. Yes. I think I was born in between the Amazon and Pearl Islands. Oh my God. You weren't even alive when I was on Survivor? No, I was not.
Starting point is 00:24:40 Oh, this will be embarrassing. Do you know about Butch? Do you know about Butch? I've seen it. It was just not at the time of airing you know about Butch? I've seen it. It was just not at the time of airing. You love Butch. All right. You would go to University of Michigan, which has some storied survivor fan history.
Starting point is 00:25:04 Has it? That's what I've heard. Okay. Okay. Well, it's great. Great school. I know we've had a
Starting point is 00:25:12 big brother alumni in Claire. Yes. Yeah, it's great school. I'm not from Michigan, though. I'm from Cleveland, Ohio. Oh, okay. All right.
Starting point is 00:25:23 I get a lot of hate from my fellow Ohioans for being a traitor and going to Michigan. Okay. All right. Well, do you know the rules of Twitch? Because I was hoping you could tell me what they are. Do I know the rules of Twitch? My understanding is Jordan's going to ask us some questions and hopefully I get them right.
Starting point is 00:25:47 All right. We hope so. Okay. Jordan, explainordan explain what are the rules because they're always changing so twitch this season here's the good news this might be the first time ever in the history of this podcast where we're using the same rules in back-to-back seasons so i have six questions uh lila as the guest that i will give you i will give you the seasons that the questions are from. Lila, as the guest, will get to choose her season first. She will get to answer the question. If she's right, she gets two points.
Starting point is 00:26:12 If she's wrong, Rob, you would get to steal from one point. And then Rob, you would choose the second season and we would alternate throughout the quiz. If there's a tie at the end, we would have a tiebreaker. And I do actually, this is rare,
Starting point is 00:26:23 I have a tiebreaker prepared just in case. Okay. All right. So let's hear the seasons you've written questions about. Okay. We have Survivor Africa, Palau, Cagayan, 44, 46, making its Twitch debut. And then we have a mystery box question,
Starting point is 00:26:41 which I can't tell you the season because it would give it away. There's one question for each season? There's one question for each season. There's one question for each season. So once a category is chosen, it can't be chosen again. All right. You just give us those seasons
Starting point is 00:26:53 one more time. Africa, Africa, Palau, Cagayan, 44, 46 and mystery box. 44, 46 and mystery box. OK, yes. So Lila, as the guest, you get to choose first and you'll get the the first crack of the question for two points okay well Kageyan was the first season I ever watched so I'm gonna go with that one and now these are all questions about the premiere
Starting point is 00:27:16 these are yes these that that is another part of the rules these are all about the premiere we we used to do the calendar we used to to worry only about the calendar. Yes. No, we're not doing the calendar. It doesn't matter if it's a fall or a spring season. Yes, it is. I make my own rules on this podcast and this is one of them. We're on Kalish time. And so it does not matter when it aired, but it does matter that it's a premiere. These are all premieres. Okay. Got it. So you chose Kageyan. So here's the Kageyan question. In the opening of Survivor Kageyan, the two out of the three players designated as the weakest member of their tribe chose an idol clue over an extra bag of rice.
Starting point is 00:27:56 Who was the only player to choose the rice instead of the idol clue? clue okay i know some people are like out loud thinkers but i feel like i need to like internalize my just to reset the rules okay so lila can uh get the question and jump in for two points uh or ask you for the multiple choices and answer for one point no there's no no multiple choice there's no there's no yeah we're doing what we did last year. No, there's no multiple choice. There's no multiple choice. Yeah, we're doing what we did last year. There's no multiple choice option if you get it wrong. I could have sworn there was multiple choice last season. I was looking at my questions.
Starting point is 00:28:34 I don't think there were, maybe. But there's no multiple choice. Maybe that wasn't a thing. Let us know if there's multiple choice. Who knows? Who could remember that far back? Yeah, okay. So if she gets it
Starting point is 00:28:46 it's two points or one if if Lila gets it it's two points if Rob if she were to get it wrong and you were to get it right for one you could steal it for one and it would still be your turn for the next question and it's the person who took rice it's the person who took who took the extra bag of rice and did not get the idol clue okay i'm gonna say trish that's my final answer trish hegarty is correct uh lj and morgan uh took the idol clue lj did find the idol morgan did not uh and trish stole that lila so it's good you got it right i got it good thing that's a three-point swing right there the fact that you knew the answers to that question. So very good start. Lila clearly knows her stuff,
Starting point is 00:29:29 even though when you were watching the season, who knows how old you were when you were watching the season. But Rob, it is time. Lila, what are you studying at the University of Michigan? Okay, it has a fun name. It's biopsychology, cognition, and neuroscience. Okay. A has a fun name. It's biopsychology, cognition, and neuroscience. Okay. And what does somebody with that degree, like what is a job that you might have in that field? A lot of people might go to med school and be like a psychologist or neuroscientist.
Starting point is 00:30:03 I'm kind of thinking going into research. Honestly, I would consider it, but I think I'm going to go into research specifically. This is so unique, but dog cognition. Okay. So like studying the behavior in the podcast at the crib, dogs in the crib. Yep. Okay. Um, but yeah, that But yeah, we'll see what happens. You could go to the Eddie Fox dog bar and figure out what all these dogs are thinking at the bar and know which ones are hanging out with the other dogs. Get all the social dynamics of these dogs at the Eddie Fox bar. Okay.
Starting point is 00:30:38 Let's test my memory. Let's go to Survivor 46. Okay, we are going to 46. Last season, Jelinski famously lost his vote at the Journey during the premiere. Which other two players were with Jelinski and gained an extra vote due to their performance in the card game? Okay, well, I'm old enough to remember last season
Starting point is 00:30:57 and it was Tevin and Maria. Tevin and Maria are correct. Had to get a Jelinski question because unfortunately it was the only opportunity of the season to get Jelinski in here. So, uh, Rob, you get two points. That is correct. Maria and Tevin won the card game. We are tied two to two and Lila, you get to choose the next category. Okay. So what's left We have Africa, Palau, 44, and Mystery Box. I want to go Mystery Box. Ooh, okay.
Starting point is 00:31:30 So this one, you'll see why I couldn't tell you the season. What are the only two seasons in Survivor history to begin the game via a schoolyard pick in which the captains were selected due to being the oldest two players in the game? Okay. I know that Gabon is one of them. And, okay, wait.
Starting point is 00:31:56 You need to get two for a correct answer. Okay. So maybe I shouldn't have said that one in case I don't get the other one, then Raph can steal it. Okay. so maybe I shouldn't have said that one in case I don't get the other one then Raph can steal it okay I'm going to say Palau. So Palau and Gabon, you are incorrect. Rob, for one point, you can steal. I'm going to say Gabon and Thailand.
Starting point is 00:32:38 Gabon and Thailand is correct. Rob, you get to steal the point there. You're up three to two in Survivor Thailand, famously Jan and Jake, Jake the Snake got to draft those seasons. And you were, you were, of course, Lila, correct about Gabon. It was Bob and it was a friend, a friend of the podcast. Wait, what's her name again? British lady. Jillian. Jillian. Jillian. I couldn't think of it.
Starting point is 00:33:09 Not remembering me. My brain has turned to elephant tongue. All right. Josh Wiggler just watched season 44 this past week. I will follow suit. All right. so 44.
Starting point is 00:33:26 We're going with Wiggler here. Which player received the bank your vote advantage at the journey, allowing them to not vote at a tribal in order to earn an extra vote at a future tribal? Bank your vote.
Starting point is 00:33:39 Who got the bank your vote? Bank your vote. Okay, so. I know she had an extra vote. Is that how she got it? I think I forgot the part that she had to bank it to get it. I'm going to say Lauren. Lauren Harp is correct.
Starting point is 00:34:06 So she did end up giving this, the extra vote to Jamie, who played it when Kane went home, but did not play it correctly. I forgot the part that she had to bank her vote. I knew she had an extra vote for quite some time. She banks her vote on the first vote of the game when Maddie, unfortunately, went home. Friend of the podcast. So it is, Lila, your turn. You have either Africa or Palau.
Starting point is 00:34:27 I'm going to go Palau. Okay. We're going to Palau. You did bring up the season before. Now it's three to one right now that Lila needs to... It's five to two. Five to two. That was some Kalish math.
Starting point is 00:34:42 I mean, you got the difference. Actually, no, the difference is three. So it is five to two. That was some Kalish math. I mean, you got the difference. Actually, no, the difference is three. So it is five to two, and you're going to Palau. Which two players won individual immunity necklaces on day one, which allowed them to be immune from the schoolyard pick style elimination? I'm going to be honest. I don't know this one. All right. So this is so upsetting. I'm going to be honest. I don't know this one.
Starting point is 00:35:07 All right. So this is so upsetting. I think you do need to, to have a chance. You do need two points on. So I would guess even like, because if you don't get this right, Rob is going to win the quiz. So I would guess it's two players. The, the actual schoolyard pick was, was on day two, but the, the first challenge, which I gave, which the immunity necklaces were one were on day one. the uh the first challenge which uh gate which the immunity necklaces were one were on day one who were the two people that got to those immunity necklaces all right we're just gonna throw out some names here and say tom and ian i don't know i know that's not right incorrect good guesses very good two players that are very
Starting point is 00:35:50 good at challenges rob you get to steal um i don't know this for sure i feel like that uh jolanda was one of them and i'll say ian was the other it was jolanda and ian so rob you get to steal a point there i think uh maybe the only player in Survivor history who won the first individual immunity challenge, but still got voted out in the premiere. So Jolanda and Ian are correct. They got to be the captains of those tribes. So we do have one more question. It's unfortunately, Lila, you are out of contention, but we're going to go to Africa. And this is going to be, I guess it's actually Rob's question. So Rob, you could pile on the score here. On the hike to the
Starting point is 00:36:29 Buran camp at the beginning of the game, who took the map and led their tribe in the wrong direction? Lylee, I know you weren't even born when this happened. Do you know what the answer is? I do not, honestly. So yeah, you go for it.
Starting point is 00:36:47 I believe this was Diane. First boot, Diane Ogden. Yes, that is correct. Rob, you're going to get two points there. You're going to finish with an eight to two win. So Diane Ogden, I will say, was my Survivor Africa winner pick. So I was kind of disappointed
Starting point is 00:37:03 when she had such a rough first episode. What was it. Um, I mean, I, I was 11, so I probably wasn't really paying that much attention. And I, I think, uh, I don't, I think I remember that she was like the first, the only player from Nebraska. And I thought that was interesting. I think that's what, that was my, uh, my reasoning there. It was not a great winner pick, but she seems like a nice lady. All right. Well, speaking of a neat lady, Lila, thank you for coming in and becoming a pioneer to be the first person to make a video to apply to be on Twitch. And now you get the chance to also, just like on Survivor, when you get voted out, you can give us your final words, okay? on Survivor when you get voted out. You can give us your final words, okay?
Starting point is 00:37:48 Well, I did not come in expecting to win, honestly, but I'm glad I got this one right. And, you know, last, I did watch your trivias last year and, you know, a lot of the Survivor players were kind of kicking your ass. Oh, oh, shots fired.
Starting point is 00:38:03 So I guess it's good that you got a lower opponent today. Not lower. Not lower. Okay? Just different. Yeah. There's room for growth for sure, but that's what life is about.
Starting point is 00:38:16 Yes. And you know what, Lila? We're not done here because Rob, I forgot about this. Your favorite segment on, not just on Twitch, your favorite segment. Verbal Rebus. Not just on Twitch, your favorite segment on Rob Has a Podcast. We have the Verbal Rebus.
Starting point is 00:38:31 So let's see if we can get this one. Gotta get my pen. Okay, yeah. You gotta get your notes ready for this. Gotta prepare. All right. This mayo jar. Get it together, man. Yeah, I just had lunch.
Starting point is 00:38:44 We're on my school lunch break right now. I'm in a school office. Oh, my God. Will Levis gave us too much of a scare to talk about the mayo jar this soon. Yeah, not that kind of mayo, but this mayo jar was the first player voted out after the Korong merge.
Starting point is 00:39:00 Voted out. Plus, Beast Mode Cowboy and JT were placed by Angie Kahn cons into the good blank archetype the good blank boy archetype sorry okay okay so we have uh we have that i i actually had to contact uh uh uh angie to see if she could give me some examples of this category so i was correct okay um you know they have recordings of all those podcasts. Yeah, but they're like, they're like an hour and a half. And I tried to find a list.
Starting point is 00:39:27 I thought there was a spreadsheet somewhere. I couldn't find it. Plus Missy and Baylor just showed up on this season, on the season of San Juan blank, sir. Plus the last name of South Pacific's seventh placer. So they're all pluses. Okay.
Starting point is 00:39:44 So who's, who's the mayo jar that got voted out? Nick. It is Nick. Beastmo Cowboy and JT were in the good blank boy archetype. What is the archetype? Yes, good old boy. Plus, Missy and Baylor just showed up on San Juan blank, sir. Del.
Starting point is 00:40:00 Del. So we have Nick Goldel, and then plus the last name of South Pacific's seventh placer. So I think Nicole Dell and then plus the last name of South Pacific seventh placer. So I think it's Cochran. Technically, because of Redemption Island, it's it's it's not Cochran. I was thinking Cochran, too. I don't know. Nicole Dell Cochran. Nicole Dell Cochran. Yes, she was.
Starting point is 00:40:22 Edna Ma and Nicole Delma. It is. It is. It is Edna. Yes. Because Ozzy came back into the game. She, she technically becomes seventh place. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:40:30 So yeah. So Nicole Delma, Rob, your wife, the first food of survivor of survivor Pearl islands. We've done it again. Lila. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:40:40 All right. What should we keep the verbal rebus going? I've tried to cancel it. People like protests when I don't put one in. Have you seen any campus protests about the verbal rebus? Not about the verbal rebus. It hasn't spread up north to Michigan yet. Keep you posted.
Starting point is 00:40:58 Okay. All right. We'll let you know when that happens. I don't know if we've hit it that big yet. Yes. All right.
