Starting point is 00:00:08 Hey, everybody, what's going on? Rob Sestrino, we're back. Co-Rong, episode 13, co-effing wrong. And we are revisiting a tough night for Joe Del Campo. And now a guy who's never backed up. It's Chappelle. Chappelle, how are you? I'm good.
Starting point is 00:00:30 I try to remain regular. Regular. Yeah, you know, for lack of a better word there. But no, I'm ready. I'm ready to talk. Maybe I'm a little backed up. I'm excited to talk about this episode. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:00:41 Okay. A lot to unpack here. And I'm struggling myself now as I was 10 years ago when I was doing the know-it-alls. And it's hard just to not go into all bathroom humor. Yeah, but I think now that I've watched it again, I can respect how painful it looked like this whole situation was. You know, Joe is putting on a good face. I think Michelle says it more than one time. I'm like, I don't, I think it's more painful than he's letting on.
Starting point is 00:01:10 Yeah. There's multiple times where he's doubled over. I think we'd catch him mid-acquidump at one point, too, where he's just like sitting in the water. He's sitting in the water, yeah. Yeah, but like, why is he sitting in the water, Rob? You know? I don't know. How often do we get a solo shot?
Starting point is 00:01:24 Very non-tanned rear end at any point in this episode. Well, I wouldn't look for it, but it's hard to miss as well with it being so white. And so, yeah, I was like, Joe looks like he's, like, he's in pain. I think if they didn't want to medevac him, I think he probably would have tapped somebody on the shoulder and be like, just take me out. Yeah, they do say that the formula for comedy is tragedy plus time. And I do feel it has been 10 years.
Starting point is 00:01:49 So it was maybe more insensitive in the moment to talk about this in jest. But I think Joe's doing great. I think Survivor is one a season of Survivor. If not now, then when. Yeah, I mean, that's good for her. Yeah. I think Survivor really ages the other way around. I think in the moment, a lot of shit is so funny on Survivor.
Starting point is 00:02:09 And then years later, you're like, ha, that was crazy that we felt that way. This time, I don't really feel like we're being insensitive laughing at Joe and his bowels. I think he was trying to make light of it in the moment as well. You know, I think he said, can you make my boo-boo go away? I don't really think he was talking about, like, you know, a cut when he said that. So, yeah, there's some comedy laced in there. But this really is a Survivor tragedy, right? we lose Joe and everybody's sad about it.
Starting point is 00:02:37 I rarely, at this point in the game, would you find somebody getting Medevac and everybody be like, dang, this sucks. I mean, Aubrey is sad probably for a number of reasons, but everybody else just seems genuinely upset because Joe just seemed like a very nice guy. Yeah, and it's hard because it's just so much of the episode where it happens at an inopportune time
Starting point is 00:02:57 where we don't even get the immunity challenge in this episode, so we don't even know who would have been immune. We get the reward challenge, then we get the reward and then we get a lot of talking about what's going on after. Yeah. And we, you know, I think, I think Aubrey did, she recently responded, you know, to people commenting on her win. I think Boston Rob was the one who kind of prompted this comment where she was talking about how a lot of her win in Survivor 50 was luck. Well, I think with Survivor you have to take the good and the bad, not to reference too much your, your conversation with Lisa Welchell.
Starting point is 00:03:33 But, you know, you got good luck and you got bad luck sometime. We saw Aubrey run into a lot of bad luck this season. And so it doesn't really bother me when someone like Aubrey runs into a lot of good luck in Survivor 50 because there were so many things that had to happen exactly like this for Aubrey to be in this situation and for Joe to be getting out of the game. When we look at the immunity challenge, very simple challenge, run, go get the beanbags, toss the beanbags. If you land them all in the little spots, you win the challenge.
Starting point is 00:04:00 It's very simple. It's not that strenuous. There's a little bit of a run. It's very hot. You can tell. But everybody runs out of their beanbags. Every single person runs out of them, except for Joe. And he sinks these last two, these final two beanbags on his last two throws.
Starting point is 00:04:19 We don't even know what would have happened had he missed one. Do they start over? Yeah. So it was a weirdly constructed challenge. I think that this might be the last time they did this challenge. You had to go into the woods and go into the forest and then, pull down your bean bag, like a bag full of bean bags, and then come back, and then you got to throw. And you had basically, like, three bags of ammo.
Starting point is 00:04:41 But then once you were out, instead of going and go to go pick, I don't know if they were worried, like, that you would throw them and people would hit you. For whatever reason, you couldn't go pick up the ones you already threw. You had to wait for everybody to go into the jungle and be done with their bags. And so Michelle, Aubrey, Sydney, and Ty are all done. And they're sitting there. And it's like, well, okay, Joe's still got one more bag to go. And they're all just like milling about, like waiting for it. It was like the least exciting thing going on.
Starting point is 00:05:18 And then Joe comes back and he has basically he needs two more. And he misses on the first three shots. And as you said, he has two bags left. and he hits the furthest one and he hits the other one and he wins it and if Sydney wins the challenge none of this happens
Starting point is 00:05:39 Joe might not be there if anybody else wins the challenge there's a good chance Joe is not there so that's the weirdest part about it is that Joe had so many times he could have lost they all have thrown everybody has thrown the maximum amount of chances
Starting point is 00:05:53 this is the only scenario where Joe Del Campo wins this challenge is exactly the way it happens. There's no way he edges out tie in the last second. We've seen it. He's so slow in all the challenges. Right. And this one is the one where if he, like, had he just missed,
Starting point is 00:06:10 he might have survived to make it to the final tribal council. It's crazy that him winning this challenge is the death blow in his game because he will go to that reward challenge with Sydney and with Aubrey and eat until he can't eat no more. You know, he's going to talk about how, you know, he really eat. meat like that. And he's down there eating beef kebabs and chicken kebabs until he just ran out of space. So yeah, it's wild that one little thing changes here. And Joe Del Capo makes it to the finale.
Starting point is 00:06:40 Yeah. It's wild. It really is. It's crazy. He wins the reward. He's not even competitive in so many of these challenges. And this is the one that he wins. I think if Aubrey wins, she does bring him anyway. But I don't think that he goes if Sidney or Michelle or Ty wins. I don't even know if, I don't even know if Aubrey brings him. So think about it like this. If I'm Aubrey and I want to leave somebody back at camp, who's the least likely person for me to like worry about coming up against me? It's Joe.
Starting point is 00:07:17 Leave Joe there. He wouldn't even take it too personally probably because again, he don't really even eat meat like that. So you say, Joe, I know you don't like me, you know, Jeff made sure the highlight that the reward was beef and it was chicken and it was cheesecake you know it's like Joe I didn't think you really wanted any of that you know you go back and hold the fort down for me while I take these people you know leave Joe with Michelle you're fine leave Joe with Ty you're fine Joe with Sydney you're fine he could have got left behind the only thing is I don't know if he had been on any rewards and so that it might just be like one of these things where it's his turn Joe I know you haven't eaten you haven't been on any of these
Starting point is 00:07:56 rewards so it's possible he could have gone then but it is It's just one of these things where just one thing changes and it changes the whole outcome of the season. Yeah, Joe wins the challenge. He picks Aubrey, of course. And Aubrey immediately tells him, pick Sidney, you know, because she thinks leaving Ty and Michelle back at camp is perfect. They've been together since the beginning of the game and they seemingly are not on the same page. After last night, tribal council, it's clear that they probably won't create any type of bond that will be over to overtake. Because we know Ty has an idol, right?
Starting point is 00:08:27 So we don't need Ty working with Michelle to pull off some blind side on Aubrey. So it's the perfect person to leave behind. But it would be nice to leave Joe behind,
Starting point is 00:08:38 you know, especially for his own health. It's just, who could have foresaw something like this happening? Yep. And so they go on the reward and Joe is really
Starting point is 00:08:48 hyping up Aubrey. He's like, wow, you know, Aubrey is really the person to beat. No, we're all just passengers. It's really Aubrey's game. She's the only threat.
Starting point is 00:08:57 here and he's not trying to do anything strategically. I think he's just, that's how he looks at the game board. And Sydney is just like, yep, you're right. You're right. Mr. Joe. Absolutely. And she's like trying to mind her own business. I think that Aubrey clocks like, you know what, actually, now that I think of it, it's a bad idea to go to the end with Sydney. Right. And it's crazy that, again, Sydney, it doesn't seem like. Sydney is doing anything to put this highlight on her. It's Joe talking up Aubrey. Aubrey's listening to Joe being like,
Starting point is 00:09:33 I'm such a big threat. I'm such a big threat that that Sydney wants to go to the end with me? Like she hears you saying this and she wants to go to the end with it? That doesn't make sense. Now, what we get from Sydney is that, yeah, Sydney does not mind going to the end with Aubrey. Sydney looks like she's just all tapped in and go to the final three
Starting point is 00:09:49 and she wants to speak her case. That might be hubris on her part or maybe just she hasn't watched a lot of the show and so she doesn't really know how tough that can be. Maybe she's broken down the votes and thought like, all right, if I get there with Joe and Aubrey, maybe in her mind she is going to win. But she doesn't really see an issue with this. It's Aubrey who's like, yeah, maybe I shield to name with Ty. You know, Ty's really pissing people off. We were talking on the last time.
Starting point is 00:10:12 Maybe does Aubrey want to go to the end with Joe and Sydney? And I don't know if she toyed with that, but she's 100% in this episode. I want to go to the end with Joe and Ty. And I think that Ty started off very likable. but I think these last couple of tribal council performances really have made it clear. Ty is a jury goat at this point. Nobody likes Ty.
Starting point is 00:10:36 When Ty gets back from tribal council, he is very confused because he's like, all right, I was clearly left out of this vote. I'm the only one who voted for Michelle, but I don't understand why y'all just didn't tell me. Why didn't you just let me know? I was like, well, you weren't taking the most diplomatic approach and people felt like they weren't being heard from you.
Starting point is 00:10:55 she's hitting him with the therapy speech. And he goes, I get all of that. But you still could have told me that you weren't coming with me. You know, like, it's very simple. And I was like, well, you know, but she's trying to him and her like, well, Ty, you were being unreasonable. He's like, do you think I was being unreasonable? Because if you had just said, we're not voting you with you. Do you think I waste my advantage, you know, on Michelle at that point?
Starting point is 00:11:17 And Aubrey's gaslighting him. She really is like, no, I mean, you really love is no choice. It's kind of your fault that has happened. Aubrey tells us in confessional, no, I need you to take control away from Ty. And I'm so happy that we're doing this watch like this because I don't remember Koh-Rong well enough to know that that's what Aubrey was getting at. But last episode, I definitely thought that must be what it is, right? Ties can't be making the decisions and having the advantages and having the idol.
Starting point is 00:11:41 You got to take something from him. And so she did this as a way to defang him a little bit. And he's just confused because she won't admit it. And he hasn't picked up that that's what she's trying to do. Yeah, and he's really hurt. He said that he feels like she pulled a fast one on him. And she did. She did.
Starting point is 00:11:59 Yeah. She did. But he trusts her. And she's the one he trusts the most in the game. You know, these are the type of allies that we've seen in Survivor history that you don't want them on the jury because they have taken things way too personally, you know, just like the little blind sides are getting to him. I don't know if Aubrey could even trust Ty to vote for her.
Starting point is 00:12:19 Like, don't get me wrong. She will win him back over in this episode. but if Ty had gone home last night, I don't know if he's coming in immediately after thinking like, okay, Aubrey played a great game. I should vote for her. I think he's too emotionally invested in their connection right now. So he ends up spending a lot of time with Michelle in this episode
Starting point is 00:12:37 as everybody else is on the reward challenge and they're going to talk and they have a heart to heart. And he says that his guard was up with Michelle as she's a beautiful girl. And ultimately, though, they get back. on the same page. Look at Michelle. Yeah, well, Michelle's open for business. She's like, my door has always been open, Ty, but he's kind of like, I don't really know what it is about you, that we never really clicked. You know, we talked about how the beauty
Starting point is 00:13:06 tribe was kind of picking up Ty, like the girls in the beauty tribe were trying to pick up tie as a fourth. But we never see a one-on-more relationship between Michelle and Ty. Right? We get Ty and Julia at points. We definitely get Ty and Anna. Rarely do we see the two of the mesh. And so of all the people in the beauty tribe for a tie to fall out with, this one makes a lot of sense. But Michelle is still like, I'm still willing to talk to you. Ty's just like, it's just not how he's been playing the game. Like the people he has the most chemistry with is the people he wants to work with. That's how he ended up working with Scott and Jason until they pissed him off. And then he flips over to Aubrey and now she has his heart. Michelle is trying desperately to get,
Starting point is 00:13:43 like to get Ty to be willing to work with him. And he's a little burned. Right now he is upset with Aubrey. And so if you're going to get him to flip, this is the time to do so. And it does feel like Michelle makes some progress with Ty. She's getting a massage from Ty. He's saying like, hey, we could work together. Let's do this. I have my idol. Who should we vote for? I do think, though, that when Aubrey comes back from reward, I think that Aubrey fixes it. She pieces him up so quick. She's so good. This is, we, you know, the episode 10, Aubrey Masterstroke, fine. But then, is really, really good work from Aubrey. Because she tells Ty exactly what she needs to tell him to get him back on the same page.
Starting point is 00:14:26 She also believes it, right? Like she's gone from being like, okay, Ty needs to go. No, Ty, you're my goat. And so she's saying, I got Joe. That's an extra vote. And now I got you. And it's me and you to the end. We're each other's best chance of making it to the end because these other people think
Starting point is 00:14:42 you're a threat. I no longer think you're a threat. I think you're the person that I want to sit by because it'll make me happy. And I don't think she's wrong about that. I think she'll be happy to sit next to Ty and she thinks she can beat him. And for him, he was able to kind of exhale and release some of the animosity he had toward her because he was plotting on her downfall. But you could tell it was just, it's taking a toll on him.
Starting point is 00:15:02 The emotional toll that Survivor takes on Ty, he talks about how this is the hardest thing he's ever had to do. This man will go and do this again in less than a year. He's going to do it again right after the season airs, basically. With Aubrey. And Aubrey is armed with, she has like the Thai cheat coat. Yeah, she knows. She knows exactly what she got him the first time. And she was like, oh, I speak Thai.
Starting point is 00:15:26 And since she's fluent in Thai, she goes and talks, she speaks to him in his language. And he's like, oh, okay, cool, I get it. And so this time around, she gets him again. And Ty is completely back on board. So it looks like there's really nothing the duo of Michelle and Sydney can do because Aubrey Joe and Ty are locked in. So we're armed with the knowledge of we know what will happen. in these next couple of votes.
Starting point is 00:15:52 What would have happened if Joe made it through? Well, this is either the exit for Sydney or Michelle. I think Michelle goes here. Aubrey is closer to Sydney. That's basically, that's the best way I can put it. I don't really understand.
Starting point is 00:16:12 Like, you know, they both have to go. I think she would rather keep Sydney around because there's a non-zero chance that Sydney will pick her over Thai. You know, and she can count on that. She can probably count on Sidney just taking her to the end if she wins or, like, allow, you know, her and Joe getting to the end with Sydney versus her. You know, we know Sydney kind of has tie as her final three. I mean, has Aubrey and her final three.
Starting point is 00:16:33 So I think this is the end of Michelle if Joe doesn't go. Well, barring an immunity challenge wins. Yeah, that's what I was going to say about the immunity challenges. Do you think that maybe if Sydney doesn't win immunity that they're looking at her as, Sydney has already won at least one individual immunity. She was right there to the end on another one. And I wonder if there's a worry. Is Sydney heating up?
Starting point is 00:17:03 And are we more concerned? Now, Michelle will win some immunity challenges here down the stretch. But is there maybe more of a concern that Sydney is that immunity threat? If Sydney goes on, if you look at Sydney and think from Aubrey's perspective, I guess that, because that's the person I guess I have to. look at it from Joe's perspective. We'll never know what Joe would like to do because they don't ever tell us. We just know he wants to be there with Aubrey.
Starting point is 00:17:25 But from Aubrey's perspective, maybe she thinks, okay, Sydney winning isn't awful because Sydney still likes her in our final three. I don't know where Michelle stands. I don't know if Aubrey knows where Michelle stands at this point. Does Michelle want Aubrey in her final three? Mm-hmm. Does Michelle want Aubrey in her final three? Like, is Michelle good with Sidney and Ty?
Starting point is 00:17:46 Yeah. Yeah. I think Michelle's like, I just think she's thinking. Sydney and Ty. It would be her final three. It would be wild for Michelle to want Joe out. She doesn't really have a relationship with him. I mean, they seem like they lived together long enough to have some type of relationship.
Starting point is 00:18:04 But I mean, Joe's not going to vote for you if you don't have a relationship. You might as well sit next to him. Yeah. Well, I think Michelle's just trying to get to the end. I don't think she's super, you know, concerned with who she's going to sit next to because she was willing to, well, I guess that she did get of Julia instead of Jason. I was going to say that she voted out Jason, but the alternative was
Starting point is 00:18:27 her get voted out. So she was open to voting out Jason. So, but I think she's just in a position where she can't really be too picky about who she goes to the end with. Right. Well, the reason I ask is because if I'm Aubrey, that's what I want to determine, right? Like, I got to vote out the person who's more likely
Starting point is 00:18:43 to keep me around. And although it's probably harder to beat Sydney, if you think, like, oh, she's won a couple challenges, X, Y, Z. Does she want you in the game at the end? I feel like Michelle does not, at least based on what we saw, you know, her and Ty cook up that plan to get Aubrey out. Did they ever explicitly say that they were going to get Aubrey out or did they just say they were going to work together? I think they said they're going to work together. I don't think that they looked at. They did say that could Michelle and Ty do something together. They could sway Sydney and Ty says that Aubrey would never see that coming.
Starting point is 00:19:14 So I guess there is a world where if Aubrey doesn't fix this, she could go out at the final five. Oh yeah, I think Aubrey's gone if she loses tie here. I think there's nothing. What can she do to say? Well, obviously there's this immunity challenge that we don't even get to see. It would be cool if we saw the immunity challenge, Rob, because then we could probably like ascertain who you thought might win it. I wonder if when we get to the challenges, because they didn't, you know, like throw away challenges.
Starting point is 00:19:40 I think, like, the challenge to kick off a juror, I'm not sure necessarily what challenge that would have been. So we're going to get a challenge in the next episode. I wonder if that would have been the final five challenge. It's hard to tell. Okay, well, I'm pretty sure Michelle wins that. Because there's still three, I think there's going to be three challenges in the finale. Yeah, so maybe there's, maybe Michelle wins, because I think she's about to win all three, right? So maybe Michelle wins out at this point.
Starting point is 00:20:14 She wins that. So I think, yeah, I think, I think Sidney's going here probably. If Joe doesn't go home, there's probably an alternate time. line where Sydney's gone, but then that still leaves the juggernaut of Aubrey, Joe, and Ty up against Michelle, and then, you know, we find herself in the same position. Michelle's going to win all the way to the end, or at least close enough to where she can get to the jury, and that's going to be a death sentence for everybody. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:20:38 So there's going to be a reward challenge at the start of the next episode, and Aubrey is going to win the reward challenge on day 36. Okay. Oh. Okay. Yeah. So, which is, I think, weird that we start a finale with a reward challenge. So maybe that might have been the immunity challenge. Hey, I don't know. Your guess is as good as mine. I think what we're looking at here, though, is that the show lets us know that Aubrey got Ty back on her side. So I think for the most part, like, again, barring any natural disaster or something like that, Aubrey, Ty and Joe, they got three votes.
Starting point is 00:21:27 The other side has two. Yeah. You know, they both can't be immune. Todd doesn't seem like anybody else can whisper that idol out of his hand either. So I think Aubrey's safe this round. I think either Sydney or Michelle is out. In Toronto, every arrival is a statement, and nothing says it better than this. What do you think about Jeff's bedside manner here with the Joe medical situation?
Starting point is 00:22:19 I was trying to make sense of it, honestly, because it looks like Jeff, Jeff is like, hey, this is because you're old. You're old. You're 71. So this is a 71 year-old problem. Getting it done. Yeah, you're getting it done.
Starting point is 00:22:36 But not all the way. There are some things that he can't get done, and it's this thing specifically. Like, Joe seems to be taking a more, medical approach to the way he's talking about this. Like, he's like, yeah, I can feel like, you know, my kidneys. And then, like, maybe he's like talking about it. But Jeff keeps going, but you're old.
Starting point is 00:22:53 Like, you know, like, there's nothing you could have done differently except not be old. And he's like, well, I could have just not ate my body weight in me. And Jeff's like, yeah, but you're, you're older, you know? You're an old guy, you know, and people are going to be inspired by you. And Joe's like, yeah, but I just really wish I could use the restroom. You know what I'm saying? So I think Jeff was trying to make this a bigger moment. And Joe was just kind of like, I just want to use the restroom.
Starting point is 00:23:16 Like, I don't really care. I'm in a lot of pain. Could we not do the, you know, contextualizing right now? I'm really, I'm not in the mood for it. Right, right. And they're like, hey, do you want to get medication and stay? Joe's like, no, I don't. I don't want to stay here in pain.
Starting point is 00:23:34 And they said, well, if he stays, it could end in kidney failure. And Joe, and Jeff, again, it's like, dang, if you weren't 71, this wouldn't happen. It's like, you don't know. that. There was one thing that happened that I thought was a little weird was that Jeff comes to the beach. It's nighttime. And Jeff asks the first thing, he comes in with Dr. Joe. And he asks Dr. Joe, all right, is it visible? Could we pick up his shirt and like a snake that's like eaten a person? Could we see a large abscess in his stomach where all the meat was? And apparently you could. Because he lifts his shirt.
Starting point is 00:24:13 And Jeff's like, yep, there it is. There's, she's a beauty. This man is dying. This man is, he is not happy. He's ready to go and he hurts. And you can see it. It looks like it's painful. Mm-hmm.
Starting point is 00:24:29 Yeah. And, yeah, Joe claims that he ate three feet of steak kebabs. Not smart. Not smart. I do like that it was Sidney on the reward with him because Sidney's like, I'm a bodybuilder. I know nutrition. and I can tell you right now that Joe Joe is eating too much. And they even like, even if that's a confessional that's done after the fact,
Starting point is 00:24:50 like let's say she does that confessional after she knows he's gone or whatever, fine. But we also get her back at camp where they say, oh, tell us about the reward. And he's like, I must have ate, eight of those cabal. Like I was just tearing them up. How many did you eat sitting? I had one. Yeah. It's like, oh, oh, oh, Joe.
Starting point is 00:25:08 Joe, this is not good. This is like, no, I had good sense. I knew better than to just take it slow. It was an overnight reward. There was no rush. It was a spa. There was a bath. There was chicken.
Starting point is 00:25:23 There was beef. There was cheesecake. We saw so little of what they talked about at the reward. Also, Joe came back. He's like, oh, my God, we took a bath and a big wooden tub. I was like, well, we wouldn't know. Not that, yeah, not that I'm looking to see his pasty white ass again, but, but Rob, we used to get that. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:25:42 We've seen plenty of pasty asses on Survivor in the past. Big bathtubs. Think way back to poverty on Cook Islands with Yule and Ozzy. They had an overnight spa day. We've seen so many people have overnight spas and we see them shower. We get to see them the next morning where they're all coming together, solidifying alliances. We spent the entire time with Ty and Michelle having a Thai massage. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:26:06 We don't show any of it. Nope. It was just kind of like they yada yada that for real. Yeah. So I didn't listen to the exit interview with Joe. Did he have to go to the hospital? What do you think? So I tried to listen to it.
Starting point is 00:26:21 But I was like multitasking. So what I did catch was him talking about how apparently he knew Rudy in real life. Yeah, I didn't know that. I think they're both from the same area. I think they're both like from Virginia Beach. Yeah, he was talking about how they were hanging out at some point and all this other stuff. Like that was really cool where he's like, yeah, you got to keep looking. living. And so, yeah, it was, it was an interesting conversation. I told him that go easy,
Starting point is 00:26:49 go easy on the, on the rewards. Rudy invented those survivor latrine. Yeah. Yeah. Rudy, I think, would only eat dark meat chicken. I don't know. I'm sure he was a big steak guy. Oh, yeah, no, it was the beef that did Joe in for sure. He was talking about it. That's from dining with Rudy. yeah he was uh he would he did not want white meat gotcha yeah no he um he should have given joe the heads up i mean i don't know i'm pretty sure rudy was uh laughing at joe's expense i can't see a world where he was like yeah that makes sense i think
Starting point is 00:27:31 rudy probably saw him was like what's wrong with you why did you do that yeah yeah did you not want to win you know it's kind of bookends for all here in the post merge where for the second time this season she's lost her closest ally I do think that the Neil Medevac does help her on that night and then ultimately this is the one that does
Starting point is 00:27:50 ultimately doom her in the game the medevac give it and it take it the way yeah you know I that's probably true you know and I'm sure that there's other situations in Survivor history where you know someone is saved by the medevac but then later on it will come back to haunt them
Starting point is 00:28:06 you know and this is definitely that occasion because she could have been gone. Yeah. Right? We don't know 100%, but she could have been gone. She lived to fight another day. But at some point, like you said, Final Destination, it came back around to get her. You know what? And I don't think anybody's talked about this too much, but in terms of the Medivac and it all coming around, Survivor 50, Kyle blows out his Achilles. They're putting him in the boat. And he says, hey, somebody on this beach win this game, okay? that she lived by the Medivac again.
Starting point is 00:28:43 He blessed her. And he wasn't even talking to her. He was talking about anybody but, he was not talking to her directly. Somebody on this beach, not you. But she heard it. She said like, what? I'll take it.
Starting point is 00:28:54 Yeah, she's not going to be too picky. She'll take whatever encouragement she can get. Yeah. So that was good. Anything else from this episode? I really enjoy Aubrey watching Joe leave because you can tell, then her brain is just like, not again.
Starting point is 00:29:13 Not again. Not like this. You know, she's watching her meal ticket walk out the door. She talks about Joe, the way Boston Rob talks about Philip Sheppard. You know, like, no, this is my second vote. This is my extra piece. I need this in order to win the game. And he's just like, yeah, my stomach hurt.
Starting point is 00:29:29 She's like, well, can you suck it up? Like, I know she's just like praying. Like, I wish this man could just go take a dump. Please let him pee. Let the man pee. and nothing, nothing. So it's like, although they're all in a situation where they would hate to see Joe go, there's a tiny part of each of them that's praying on his downfall.
Starting point is 00:29:49 Well, Michelle especially. Right, Michelle's like, yeah, this is great for me. One more spot. And again, that's that luck thing again, you know. Michelle ends up catching a lucky break here right when she needed it. Yeah. It is funny when Joe is on the reward. the way that he's talking about the food.
Starting point is 00:30:11 He says at one point he's like, Joe, Joe's all beef, Joe's all beef. The camera people could not have known the gold they had. Yeah, they had no clue that he was giving them so much. And when they had to go back and they're like, damn, did he know? Did he know this? Do y'all know he gave us this?
Starting point is 00:30:31 It's exactly what we need. When people go out, we got to have supporting evidence about why. And there's no misunderstanding here about why Joe Del Campo lost. Yeah. It was almost like that he stopped eating me. And then it was like for a reason that he was like, he gave it up. And then he fell off the wagon. I think he can't handle it.
Starting point is 00:30:56 Well, when you become a man of a certain age, you have dietary restrictions. I think that, you know, you start to grow up and you be like, hey, there are certain things I can't eat anymore. And if you are married or have loved ones close to you, they will hold. you accountable for this. They will say, hey, don't eat that. It's going to make your gout act up or something like that, right? You got high blood pressure. You have high cholesterol, you know, and Joe's probably been getting that speech for about a while now, but he's free. He made it to the final five. He said, Yolo, why not? Let me have a little beef. But like you said, it's a gateway drug. That one kebab just let him downhill. I mean, he just lost control. He couldn't
Starting point is 00:31:30 stop. He got beef and chicken wasted. And then the hangover was not worse. the journey, and I know a little something about hangover, so I could tell you. Yeah. I would have wanted out. Is there anything from the finale that you're going into especially looking for? I don't, I guess, no. Besides Neil getting voted out of the jury.
Starting point is 00:31:55 No, because that is so, like, I think that I really want to see that. I think that is my highlight of the finale already. I can already feel myself getting to that mode because I think that we were not kind enough to that episode in the real time. It's so cartoonishly weird that I think it needs to be ranked higher amongst the crazy things people have said on jury speeches and stuff like that. Like it needs to be higher. So I'm definitely looking for that. I'm looking to see the Michelle Challenge wins.
Starting point is 00:32:22 Of course, we know we have a Judy kick, you know, coming soon. And, you know, paying amish to Caleb, I guess. He's a cop boy, yeah. Yeah, and then, yeah, I want to see the final tribal council, right? I want to see, like, if all things considered, these people came in, open-minded, and Michelle just wowed them, or if they had already decided they weren't going to vote for Aubrey
Starting point is 00:32:45 and she was just fighting a losing battle here. I'm interested to watch Aubrey's speech also here at the Final Tribal Council and see how it holds up to the speech we just watched her give in Survivor 50. And, yeah, like, if the jurors, you know, how many points were there to have been won? Right, if any, right? And then with Michelle, I want to see the same thing. Look, as a person who has leaned into their social game, does she know that?
Starting point is 00:33:11 You know, is she going to get at the end and say, yeah, the reason why y'all didn't vote me out is because I'm social and I, and I'm likable and y'all like to keep me around. There were moments where you could have got me out. You should have got me out instead of Jason. You should have got me out. You should have got me out. There are multiple times where if I wasn't so damn adorable, I wouldn't be sitting here. And I think she needs to lean into that and I'll be very impressed.
Starting point is 00:33:32 Yeah. I want to see why is Sydney annoyed with Aubrey? ultimately, and then also we have a live reunion show also. In my mind, there is no indication that Sydney is annoyed with Aubrey. She just votes completely irrationally. And I really, I might be misremembering this. But in my mind, I did not know why Sydney voted for Michelle until she did her interview with you.
Starting point is 00:33:58 Until I heard her say the words to you, I had no clue why that lady did not vote for Aubrey. And so I'm very excited to see if there's some breadcrumbs that maybe she won't. Yep. Okay. All right, Chappelle, what else is coming up for you before we get to the big finale? The Big Brother is coming, Rob. You know, you and I will be behind the paywall for patrons only talking about the Big Brother content that's a little too not safe for work, I guess you would say. And so you got to pay to hear about it. It's the slop. And so that is for patrons only. Make sure you join the Patreon so that you can hear those shenanigans.
