This episode of the Survivor 50 Files is brought to you by our friends over at Manta Sleep.
Summertime is officially here.
The days are longer, the sun is brighter, and while all of that extra daylight can feel
energizing, it can quickly sabotage your sleep.
Later sunsets disrupt your body's circadian rhythm, making it harder to fall asleep, stay
asleep, and wake up feeling refreshed.
That's where Manta Sleep comes in.
Whether you're blocking out daylight or tuning out the sounds of summer nights,
taking control of your sleep environment helps you get deep restorative rest.
No matter how long the sun stays up.
I love this sleep mask.
When we looked for a sponsor for this podcast, it was the first
company that I jumped to.
I bought one of these during COVID.
I was sleeping very poorly.
I had a lot of anxiety.
This doubled the quality of my sleep. I am loyal to it. And I've been influencing for this way longer than this podcast. Visit the Mantisleep website and use our discount

What is going on everybody?
We are back for another episode of the Survivor 50 Files.
My name is Brandon Donlan and we're talking Auburn Rocko today.
And we've got a great guest, one of my favorite Survivor contestants of all time.
The last thing that I voted for anything Survivor
was when she was on the second chance ballot.
I skipped out on all the 50 stuff.
It's Kelly Wentworth.
Kelly, how you doing?
Brandon, you don't have to lie.
You did not vote for me on Survivor second chance.
There's no way.
I voted for, I voted for everybody but Wu.
I had my ballot was 19 out of 20.
I had Shane Powers over Wu.
But then we got Wu and Wu was great.
You were there with Wu, right?
Yeah, I played a few days with Wu.
And how was that for you?
Fine, neutral.
Really no comment, good or bad.
Truly neutral.
Switzerland, nothing.
Switzerland.
Switzerland.
Exactly.
But you're not Switzerland on your good friend,
Aubrey Bracow, who we're here to talk about. I am so excited to talk about Aubrey. I. Exactly. But you're not Switzerland on your good friend, Aubrey Bracco, who we're here to talk about.
I am so excited to talk about Aubrey.
I really am.
I'm so glad that you asked me to do this
because I'm really excited for her.
I think she's in a different head space going in,
which we'll talk more about her entire journey
and why I think she will have a good time this time
versus season 38 and all this good stuff.
So I'm excited.
Can you tell me when you're now you're watching season 32 as a fan of the show, but also somebody
who's just now played two different times.
Tell me your perception.
What you remember of watching Aubrey from now you're like you're you're season vet at
this point.
You're too deep.
I'm too deep.
I'm just I'm too deep.
I'm just, I'm in the thick of it.
Okay. So I remember watching Aubrey
and being so fascinated by her journey
because I haven't rewatched that season by the way.
So all of my memories are from many years ago
watching it the first time.
So if I mess up anything,
that's why I have you here to help fill in the blanks.
But what I remember is that she had a really tough time in the beginning.
And she was almost like this outcast.
I remember this one scene with like a mango or something,
and it was just like on her face.
And and she was crying and really upset.
And I was like, oh, my gosh, what's going on with this this person?
And then we really see her emerge as someone that was very strategic
and a really great storyteller. And we really see her emerge as someone that was very strategic and a really great
storyteller. And we really saw her story. And so I was so fascinated by her. And like so many others,
I thought by the time we got to the end and the final votes, I truly thought that Aubrey was going
to win that season. I was one of those people that was almost outraged, not mad at Michelle or
anything, because she deserved to win. But I just was more so like I felt like the producers were lifting up Aubrey to show us her.
Yeah, are you still here? Are you hearing that? I'm hearing that. No, hearing what?
Something over there. Are you hearing the thing about Summerhouse?
I hear nothing about Summerhouse.
What is that?
Oh my gosh, do I have something playing on my screen?
No.
This episode of the podcast brought to you
by our friends over at Summerhouse.
What is that?
This is the most bizarre thing ever.
I'm literally, literally in my ears.
I'm not even lying to you.
I'm hearing someone talk about Summerhouse.
Okay.
I feel like this is like a ghost or something. What is going on? Hold on.
I'm here. It's not me.
Oh my gosh. You are not going to believe this. This is the strangest thing.
I had a different browser open and it was on Peacock and it started
playing Love Island.
And I think it was the after sun and they were talking to Paige probably about Summerhouse.
That was so bizarre.
I'm sorry to everyone listening.
They're probably going, what is happening?
Kelly's losing her mind.
Very possible.
Okay.
Listen, I love Summerhouse.
We've talked, we were talking a lot about Love Island before we started recording, which
is crazy that the gods are pulling you towards Love Island.
I thought you were clowning me.
I thought you were playing a trick on me.
Okay.
That would be a fun concept for a podcast where we try to have a conversation.
I just blast a commercial for a show that's not the one we're talking about.
It's like, what is happening?
Okay.
It's closed out now.
So I was one of the people that thought for sure Aubrey was going to win that season.
And I was so disappointed.
And I just really loved watching her.
I thought her story was really good. It shows just Aubrey is such a layered character.
I feel like there's so much and I say character, but just so much to her as a person. She's very
empathetic. She can bring people in. She's very strategic. She can see what's going on. I just,
I really enjoyed watching her the first time. And then when I had the opportunity to play with her,
that was cool too.
So.
In between that, she's back for Game Changers.
Are you involved at all in the Game Changers casting process?
Were you in the pregame or thinking that you were gonna go
play 34 as opposed to 38?
I was contacted about 34 and I just told them no. Most of the time, I will say yes,
and kind of get into the process and understand more about what's happening. Because I feel like,
if you're someone that receives a call, you should always take the call. And you should always
entertain it just to kind of see what's going on, unless you really don't want to do it. But I,
I always encourage people, yeah, take the call, you know, you never know. And so I took the call and I immediately said no. It was Penny. She's my casting person who I love
dearly. Penny is so wonderful. And I said no. And she said, well, Kelly, I can't just go tell them
that you said no. And I said, why? Just tell them I said no. She was like, that will offend them. I can't do that.
I said, oh, okay.
Well then just tell them I have some family stuff
or something.
So I think she did that.
And Penny really had my back on that
because looking back now, I understand why,
but I couldn't play,
that would have been three summers in a row
that I would have been playing survivor,
which really is almost what Aubrey did as well,
which we can talk about more,
but that is extremely difficult.
Even the two, I mean, you did back to back summers, no?
I did.
You did, you know, which that's hard.
I mean, I think about these people on this season
who were on 49, they got off the plane a week ago.
Got back on the, you know, I just said to somebody like,
they didn't clean it yet.
You know, they're vacuuming the Cheez-Its out of the seat in the, you know, I just said to somebody, like, they didn't clean it yet. You know, there's their vacuum in the cheese. It's out of the, out of the seat
cushions, you know, they're going to get on the same plane. Um, and that's tough. That's
really tough. It's really hard and not just playing the game itself, but everything that
goes into being on survivor. So you have your contact it, and then you have to go through
the process of sending in wardrobe and the
interviews and the medical and then you go and play and then
you come back and you have to process everything that happened.
And then a few months later, depending when your season
airs, you watch it and then you have to process that and see
people talking about you online. And it's just, it's not like,
oh, you go and you're gone for six weeks and that's it. It
takes over your life.
And you do you do 29.
Yes.
You get 29 is on.
You are now dealing with all the online whatever.
But then you're also now pre gaming for hypothetical all stars.
31.
For.
Well, 31 was so unique because we all knew eventually who we were basically fighting against.
But these were also people that we would eventually have to play with. So you're
fighting for a spot and you're having to campaign for yourself, which was
exhausting in itself. You don't know if you're going. You're sitting in that
audience. Probably one of the more diabolical things I've ever done. Mean. It's
a mean thing. So mean. I remember they said, because we were all sequestered in a hotel room
a few days before that announcement was made at the live finale of season 30. And I remember,
I don't remember if they put it on a piece of paper or if it was a phone call or just an in person with with one of the
our casting people, Caitlin or something.
But they it was they told us, now, if you aren't picked, it's OK, because we have planned an after party for you.
Like anybody is going to want to go to an after party and celebrate when you have just been told you're not going on this season
that everyone is so excited about.
It was so bad.
And I know they tried, but we have we have jalapeno poppers
a very cold metal serving tray for you, Shane Powers.
You know, that's a that's tough.
That's a really, you know. Yes.
And it was profoundly mean to do that.
It was so exciting for you and the other 19 people who got to go,
but really mean for everybody else.
Well, Brandon, all I could imagine, because when you see us go and get on that bus,
we were just looping around the streets of Los Angeles while they filmed us on that bus.
For, it felt
like a few hours and we couldn't talk so we're all excited and and during that
time though all I could really think about were the other people that did not
make it and wondering are they at the after party while we're just looping the
streets of Los Angeles filming and going into sequester
and going to Cambodia tomorrow.
The idea of like T-Bird walking to the after party
and then seeing the bus like roll around,
that's hard for me to think about.
I don't want to think about that at all.
I know.
Really sad.
Really sad.
I watched that finale at the Blue Man Group
on a school trip because I didn't want to miss the reveal.
So this is before Paramount Plus.
Like I found like some janky on safari, some live stream of somebody filming their TV and
all my class was watching the Blue Man Group and I just had headphones in and I watched
from there and then I was like, wow, look at that.
Everybody who I wanted to get in is in.
That was your Super Bowl.
You were the person at the family dinner
who had to be locked in and watching with the headphones.
And I've never done that with a football game,
but I have done that with this program many times.
I love that. I love that.
But but back to Aubrey.
We got Aubrey.
I'm sorry. No, no, don't be sorry.
This is Aubrey is, you know, I watched all of her confessionals today.
I watched Iran confessionals, game changers, confessionals
and education confessionals.
She's very gifted at the gas, which I forgot.
I think of her as more of like a and I don't say one dimensional
in like a derogatory sense, but I think of her very strategy heavy.
But she's so good at the narration,
which makes me like, is when the cast gets announced,
not to jump around, but when the cast gets announced,
Aubrey was the one person that I was,
I was, my reaction was confused because I thought,
like your show with Aubrey 38,
I didn't think Aubrey had fun that time. She did not have fun at all.
But I think it goes back to this idea of playing Survivor too many times in a short period of time,
because she really did give everything in Korea wrong.
And then she came back the next summer and did 34,
got very far in game changers.
I don't even really remember.
I don't remember Aubrey as much that season.
And I'm not, I can't recall why now.
I don't know if there were just other big personalities
or she wasn't involved in things,
but she played a lot of days of survivor
in those two summers.
Then she has a summer off.
And then she comes back again in this captain style season,
which is very difficult
very very difficult to be on a captain's style season some people might be like well why you
know what's going on yes but you are in a very small minority you're you're only one of two people
that could be a very easy target and i think she just got in her own head in season 38 and didn't
in her own head in season 38 and didn't play the game
the way she can play the game. Yeah, I mean, she's an early exit.
She's, I believe, the fifth person in total voted out,
stays at the edge the entire time, which is tough.
You hear from Reem, you hear from everybody.
It's a tough thing.
But coming back, it just seemed like it, I
don't think it felt too soon in the moment, but then you're watching it and you're seeing
her like, and they, they kind of like not to, you know, and this is, it's not, I'm not saying
anything that you can't go watch impairment plus it kind of like clown her a little bit
in terms of like, she's trying hard and the edit isn't super kind, which is such a departure from the first two times
where she is the hero, right?
And then, you know, I can understand how that,
the combination of everything there
would make her not wanna ever return to Survivor.
So I was so shocked when her name popped up
that she wants to go.
Do you have any insight into why this felt like
the right time for her to go for round
four?
This is a good question.
And I did know that Aubrey was going to play.
We had talked about it.
She didn't tell me until very, very late.
And I don't know when she was contacted.
I think probably later on in the process.
I'm not completely sure.
I did not know she was going to get the call. I thought she might go to play because we were
both contacted for Survivor AU, the world. Maybe I shouldn't have said that. Oops, I have a big mouth.
I won't talk about Aubrey's journey on that, but I do know that she was contacted, I was contacted,
and we were in the process. So I knew that she had interest in playing survivor again, but
I think that so much time has passed now and she has since had a child. She's with a serious
partner. She's moved. She's, you know, done a lot of stuff with her family. And so I think
that she has evolved a lot as a person. And so I think if I had to guess, I don't know,
she'll have to be able to explain this at some point as well
and much more eloquently than I am here.
But I think that she was just ready and felt like, okay,
this is something that I can do now
because it has been quite some time since season 38
and a lot has changed.
And so I hope that that translates into the game
that she plays because I think she has had these new life
experiences that will allow her to connect
with people in a different way.
She already, like I said, is a very empathetic person.
You really do connect with her.
Just even on a friend level outside of the game.
She's a great listener.
She gives great advice.
She's a really wonderful, loyal friend.
And so I think that she's going to bring that into the game.
So I'm not surprised she went to play, but I was actually surprised she was contacted.
But I think that people who say, Oh, we don't need to see Aubrey again. I think we might actually see
an evolution in her game. And I'm, I'm excited personally.
And it feels like to me, like I, I echo what you said about game changers is I don't remember
her. I know she, she gets fifth place. She goes as far as you get almost without being at the end.
But it was a quiet edit, I think.
I think it was muted.
And then she's there with Ty, who she played the whole first time with.
And that's like an interesting dynamic.
I don't think they fully explored.

Tell me about you're on the edge with Aubrey. Once you get voted out, Aubrey's been there for two weeks at that point.
What was that like to have her presence in like the worst thing that
Survivor has done for two people, I think in terms of the suffering component?
I have so much to say about Edge of Extinction.
So I want to answer this question.
But can we start by talking about the fact that I did not know
Aubrey was going to be there.
Even when we were sequestered, we were not sequestered together.
Yes.
So when I saw Aubrey on day one, I was shocked, but also very excited.
Had you met Aubrey previous to that, but after Korong, had you like hung out in person?
I met her at a charity event.
Yes. So that's the first time that I met her at a charity event. Yes.
So that's the first time that I met her.
Yes. And relationship was good. You guys, you're texting, you're chatting.
Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Oh yeah. Very good.
So we get to season 30 and I only traveled with David.
I didn't travel with Joe or Aubrey. They flew separately. They stayed separately.
I knew that Joe was going to be there because we had texted each other.
So I knew that he was going to be there because we had texted each other. So I knew that he was going to be there. So when I get to the airport, and it's
only David, I thought, this is so weird. Maybe do they do they do they replace Joe with David,
but I just talked to Joe and he said he's going to be here. Okay, well, yeah, I didn't know what
was going on. We're in the entire sequester. It's just me and David the whole time. Like, okay, well, whatever.
So then they load us up in a boat
and we go meet the other boat
and we get on a dock and that's when I see Aubrey and Joe
come off of this other boat.
And I'm thinking, oh, oh my gosh.
And I was so excited and we just looked at each other
and we smiled so big.
I was so looking forward to playing Survivor with Aubrey because I respect her that much
because I love the way she plays the game.
I think we have a lot of similarities and I was just excited.
So now moving forward into the game, we didn't obviously didn't play together.
We are on different tribes.
We get to Edge of Extinction.
And I was very grateful for her because she was very supportive.
We just were able to really, especially playing before,
it's really like getting voted out of Survivor
and being blindsided, it really is embarrassing.
And we both went out with idols in our pockets,
so we had that in common.
And so I just felt like we were able to really talk
through our experience and we really were almost each other's shoulder to cry on literally. And we just bonded a lot
through that experience. I became much closer to Aubrey and she was kind of in a way the mom
of the edge. You might think that that would be Reem, but Aubrey was just,
just listened to everyone, just as very calm going through
the experience after it was all over you were like oh we were the guinea pigs for
season 40 so we were upset about that which is one the only reason I would
think Aubrey would not go back to Survivor is because of how upset we both were after that season ended.
But, you know, time passes, things change.
The reason that you were both upset is because you didn't like that you were like the guinea pigs for this new thing that was happening two seasons later?
Yes, because we felt like they obviously cast people for captains they knew would never
quit, would never leave Edge of Extinction. So it just kind of felt like Edge of Extinction
truly is like hell. It's horrible. I'm sure you've heard from people, you didn't just
get rice, you had to walk to the top of this mountain, you were exhausted, you were miserable, you had nothing.
And I get it, it's survivor to game, but they knew we would never quit.
And so I feel like they just, yes, they wanted us to be the captains, but I feel like they
chose people that again, they knew would never leave and that they could test how this concept
worked for whatever the next season was going to be.
Not that they owed us anything.
They didn't have to tell us that was the concept.
They didn't have to tell us,
oh, you're going to be here to the end no matter what.
Like you will be here to the end no matter what.
Which in a way is cool
because you get to see the whole game play out.
But it's also, I don't know, it's hard to explain.
Because now I'm so far removed from it
that I don't have those feelings any longer.
But I just remember at the time when we got out of the game, they wanted us to fill out
this survey about the edge of extinction.
It was literally a paper printed out survey.
They wanted us to fill out and I didn't.
I said, no, I'm not going to do that.
That feels like I have no good things to say. You get like the iPad with like the tip and it's like a 50 20.
You know, I don't know about right now.
I feel like this is a weird time for me to fill out the form.
I'm not feeling good about this.
Did other people fill out the form?
Most people did.
But like, what is the form?
What does the form say?
Because the edge of extinction is bad. Right.
Like, what's the what's the. I wonder what they edge of extinction is bad, right? Like what's the, what's the,
I wonder what they're looking for in answers to like,
was this fun for you?
Like I'm interested in what modifications they made
to then do it on 40.
It's a great question.
I'm not sure.
Well, you know, you heard the thing
about how they were potentially going to have Rick Devens
as like shopkeeper or something of some mini CVS or whatever they were doing there.
A little Rite Aid.
Do you have those where you live?
You got Rite Aid, yeah.
Okay.
You got Rite Aid over here.
Like a little food pharmacy.
Sure.
Would you have liked to work at the Survivor Rite Aid
if they asked you, would you go to the Rite Aid?
100%.
Yeah, you gotta go to the Rite Aid.
You gotta go to the Rite Aid.
I'm the one handing out the tokens.
Heck yeah. I do think, I'm the one handing out the tokens. Heck yeah.
I do think I'm not getting invited back to Survivor.
But if you're listening to this, Survivor casting,
if you ever do this again, I would love.
I don't even need to be the main guy.
I'll be the stock boy.
Like if Rick Evans is the main guy,
I can be in the back just filling shelves.
I think that's magnificent.
And you know why?
The new era is fun.
Like I think shopkeepers fun. I think people would magnificent. And you know why? The new era is fun. Like I think shopkeeper's fun.
I think people would universally hate it.
I think that's fun.
I feel like at this point,
they do whatever they want anyway,
so why not throw in shopkeeper?
Why not throw in bartender?
You know, while we're at it.
I talked to Alec Merlino today.
Great bartender, you know.
That's fun.
Throw him in there.
Yeah, he was great. I can't wait for, if you're listening to this, it'll come out Friday. You bartender, you know. That's fun. Throw him in there. Yeah, he was great.
I can't wait for it. If you're listening to this, it'll come out Friday.
You'll love it. OK.
I'll I'm sorry, Aubrey in a confessional on the edge of extinction.
Yes. While she's still in the game, there's a scene.
The Kama tribe is like dancing.
Ron Clark's leading a dance.
And Aubrey says, I don't like this Kumbaya survivor.
And my question to Aubrey says, I don't like this kumbaya survivor. And my question to Aubrey is, has she seen the new era?
The survivor?
Does she know?
Has she seen Kelly the chicken and waffle song
from three months ago?
You lived through that.
I was there.
It was painful.
Yeah.
It was truly painful.
Can I tell you why that was painful for me?
Tell me. Tell me why.
It's not.
The idea is not the scene itself,
it's the way Jeff pushes these moments to happen
and they don't feel organic.
Like, this is not the behavior the castaways would be doing
without you shouting at them to chant fried chicken.
Why are we doing that?
Sure.
That's what I didn't like about it.
Do you think Aubrey, cause they're playing right now.
Hopefully she's still in the game.
Hopefully she's still in the game.
If Jeff comes out and he has a different food, fettuccine alfredo.
There's a chant. Is Aubrey not going to do the chant?
Aubrey's going to do it. You gotta do the chant.
She's going to do it and then we're going to hear a confessional about how awful that was.
Yeah.
Listen, I chant for fettuccine alfredo in my hometown of where I live.
If I get fettuccine al Alfredo, it's worth a song.
Fried chicken waffles, I don't know, worth a song for me.
I don't think that's, you know.
But I guess I wasn't there long enough to be that hungry.
So maybe it would be worth a song.
I much prefer stabbing the bag of rice, Jeff.
I feel like that was still fun.
Pretty baller.
Thinking, making castaways think on their feet.
Those are fun moments.
I enjoyed, I'm trying to think of what else did I enjoy
that Jeff has done recently.
It's just this season, there was a lot of pushing.
Like he kept saying the thing about the dancing,
a boot scoot boogie or what was it that he was saying?
Oh, club condo?
Club condo.
It's like, Jeff, no, we're not buying into it.
Sure, sure.
We don't want it.
But would Aubrey dance? Sure.
Aubrey's going to do what she has to do.
She's going to do what she has to. And she has.
And she has. And she has.
And she has. You have any indication
what personality type rubs Aubrey the wrong way
that she may encounter on season 50 of Survivor?
Oh, oh, oh, that is such a good question.
Because there's a lot of egos going into survivor 15.
Yeah, I think someone like Q,
which seems like an obvious call out
because he said something about her
in a confession on his season,
but that type of personality,
that big over the top in your face,
she can work with that,
but I don't think that's her preferred personality type.
It is nuts. The queue says four seasons ago, this person reminds me of Aubrey.
Aubrey, who at that point is not like she played survivor three times, but isn't it
isn't Boston Robert Parvati. It's like it's a it's a more niche call out.
And then Aubrey's there. They're together.
She's there. They've got to be on the same tribe, right?
They would not put them on the same tribe.
One would think so.
You'd have to you'd have to imagine.
And that's going to be interesting because Aubrey's
Aubrey definitely got in a few tweets.
If she wasn't watching live, she she knows about it.
She has to know. I know she at least.
Caught up on some seasons of New Era before going,
which is what anyone should have done if they didn't.
So I don't know how tapped in she was prior,
but I know that she is at least aware of everyone that's there
and how New Era works and all of that.
We talked a lot about season 48 and this strong people thing and that's also just not,
that is not her style. I mean, she's going to get along with anybody, but like, if you're talking
about this, if we look at season 48 and the strong person, you wouldn't put Aubrey in,
she's in the opposite. She's in the Camilla camp. Sure. Did she have any observations on a Camilla?
Sure. Did she have any observations on a Camilla?
She loved Camilla.
Yeah, which I did. I did, too.
Obviously, that is one person as much as I have come out and complain. I've been a little brat about the cast, not because of the cast individually,
not because of the people, but because of the way that it was pitched to us.
I have no issue. I think these are all great people excited to see them all play again. But I take that back. Most of them play
again. Some people I think were I'm a little I'm a little fatigued, but it just didn't mesh for me,
the cast. I didn't understand it. But Camilla was one person that I am excited to see again,
regardless of what season she's on,
because I feel like her story was so linked to Kyle.
And she had so many really good moments
and good confessionals,
and you could see the type of game that she would play,
but she was so handcuffed, I feel like, for most of it.
She just do what she could to get where she got,
that I'm excited to see what she
does. Although wait, Kyle's there again. Kyle's there again. Why do we do that? That's a production
thing. That's a, why are you doing that to a good player? That irritates me. That is tough. I mean,
you have like on my season, you have Dee and Emily who like worked against each other during the
season. They're going in, they're friends, but they can play separately.
But if Kyle and Camilla are on two different tribes
and they go to tribal council one,
it's like, oh, well, he's got over here.
And that sucks.
When you're gonna invite somebody
who's now doing almost a return flight,
like you wanna give them more of a fighting shot.
And I do think one of them is probably out really early.
I hope not but
I you'd have to assume. But in that situation as much as I like Kyle I'm
saying Kyle because Kyle just won and I feel like we really saw his game. I feel
the same way about Joe to be honest with you. I have no issues with Joe but I just
I don't know what else Joe is giving us as a player.
I liked Joe a lot as a survivor character.
I think Joe is very similar to some of the old era people
that we already have.
And that makes me like it less as a pick.
My only complaint with the cast is I just,
I want it more of the old guard
because Rob has said this before
and I'm quoting what he's already said,
but like this was the last chance to see some people
that aren't gonna come back anymore.
And that sucks for the person who like,
grew up and loved the show.
And also like, you know,
you've never had more people streaming the show.
You've never had more people who are now revolving door
watching season one through 40, you know,
like people remember that.
And like the casual folks who watched, like, people remember that. And like the casual
folks who watched the first 10 seasons remember that. So I would have liked to have seen more of
that. And a little bit less of the people in my cohort, because they can go in two years,
they can do a full thing in two years. But this was, this seemed like the time to, you know,
but whatever I all in all, I think the group is good. The more that I've done these, the more that I'm excited about seeing each person.
I'm just I hope it doesn't go the way of winners at war, where all the older folks.
See, and that's my fear.
That's my fear, because it is a lot.
Of new era, and I would imagine they're probably going to stick together.
And then you get these people like, like, what is Colby going to do?
He doesn't even know how this works right now.
Probably Tina on the on this podcast told me that he's watched everything.
He's schooled up. Oh, he's talking about the journeys.
He's talking about where advantages he's seen everything,
which makes me extremely excited.
I stand by I'm in on seeing what Colby can do this time.
But but but to your point and Rob's point, and now it's kind of circulated
and I feel like everyone feels this way.
So I'm glad you brought it up.
This really would have been like that 50 is such a big
number, it's such a milestone for the show.
And and you're right, a lot of these players, these new era people,
we're going to if the show continues on, one would imagine
we're going to do another returning season fairly soon,
I would think in the next five or six seasons.
So now was the time, like you said, to bring back
like a gerrymanity or who.
But other people, Amanda, which I heard that was a scheduling conflict.
And there's other things probably going on behind the scenes.
Kelly Wentworth, what's the scheduling conflict?
What do you have to do instead of fifth?
You know what I mean?
That's just, what are you doing?
I said it on, I forget,
which if you're hearing me repeat a joke
I already made, then sorry.
But like, what do you got, an appointment?
Move the appointment, come play that survivor.
I agree with you, but I'm just saying that
I do have to take a step back and say
there are maybe some people we wanted that could not do it,
but the names I heard that could do it were ready, willing.
Let's just off the top of my head a few,
which I know I've said this, so if I'm repeating,
I'm sorry, but Jonathan Penner.
That's my one.
He's not coming back after this.
And then here's the thing.
Okay, now I'm getting worked up.
Now I'm getting worked up.
Okay, here's the thing.
Because if you're using some of these people
for this season,
let's say you did want to use a Penner or a Jerry eventually.
With who?
Like this was the opportunity to have them all together
representing the entire series. And so it's like, okay, so now Penners pretty much
were done with him. Great character, great character. Jerry Manthe. I grew up watching Jerry. I
remember her. I remember how much hate she got. And she was just seen as this like very villainous,
devious woman. And like, I love Jerry, I love Jerry.
Abbi Maria, a close friend of mine.
I know some people maybe don't wanna see Abbi,
but a wonderful, crazy, chaotic villain.
I do.
Okay, that's what I'm saying.
I mean, Rob, who now, I'm so glad Rob went to Traders.
Like that is, oh my gosh,
that is the most delightful news I received
when I saw Rob, because the Traders is a better opportunity
than Survivor 50.
Given what Survivor 50 is right now,
better opportunity for exposure, new audience,
a pay, time away from home, everything,
everything, way better experience.
So to think that Rob could have gone 50, they said no,
and he probably, I'm assuming probably simultaneously was talking to the traders. They probably
called him while this 50 stuff was going on, which is why he probably wasn't that upset.
I heard that he was like, yeah, it's okay to call. Yeah, because he's going on the traders.
He probably got paid for that. I've heard people that have gone as alternates got paid
six, five figures, like he's doing fine.
He's doing fine.
Can I sign up to be an alternate on the trade?
Is that, I'm not going to name names.
I don't want to say anybody, but, um, yeah.
So now that we've gone on that rant, can I, can I pitch you on a season
theme that I just thought of?
Pitch it.
Let's do survivor 50 is like evolution.
All right.
Ooh.
And you've got people like Penner. Penner
lost his wife in the time since he's played last time. He's a new person. Right. Aubrey
has had a child, a new person, Angelina, same thing. People let's let's cap it to people
who have had a Rob Cestronino has this business. You know what I mean? Like we have we have
people who have transformed their entire life.
I'm knocking my microphone down, I'm so excited.
You're so excited.
That's a good idea.
Yeah, that's great.
That's a good idea.
Why didn't we do that, Kelly Wentworth?
Why didn't we do that?
Why didn't we do that?
I mean, you could probably say the same for Jenna Colby,
any of these people.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
And the people- Now what would Ozzy's be? Only fans?
Um well, sure. Sure. Career change. Career change. Yeah.
And they can say that. I mean, evolution. Evolution. They can
say, yeah, I'm in a new line of work. I was in restaurants.
Now, I'm not in restaurants. Nope. Nope. Nope. Not doing that. No. Yeah. So, I like it. Can I show you? I'm not in restaurants. Nope, nope, nope, not doing that.
No.
Yeah.
So I like it.
Can I show you?
I'm just looking at this.
I went to a viewing party of Kyle's for one of the episodes
and I have this next to me and this has been here.
I've done every podcast looking at this and here he is.
It's the first time I've shown this, but this is just on my
desk.
Here he is. Wow. Okay.
That's it.
That's odd, but also kind of cute.
Yeah, I might put it away now that I now that I've touched it.
I think maybe it's good to not be looking at me anymore.
Now that I've drawn attention to it, I can put it away now that you've exposed yourself to everyone.
That's fine.
Sure.
Yeah.
Yeah. Sure. Yeah.
Yeah.
OK, that's Aubrey.
We once again strayed so far.
Yeah, but we're having so much fun.
From our girl.
We're having fun.
How do you think she's going to do on this season?
I'm glad you asked, because that was going to be my next topic.
How is she going to do?
Because I'm thinking, who was first boot?
I'm wondering.
It really comes down to tribe breakdowns.
You know how much luck is involved in initial tribes, so starting tribes.
And so I think she's going to do pretty well.
I really do.
Because I think she can adapt to a lot of different personalities.
We saw that in Korong.
Yes.
Yeah, she starts at the bottom and kind of works her way up and is now part of the voting
structures that ultimately run, excuse me, run that game.
Exactly.
And she can do that again.
I think what serves her very well.
You know, we did a first boot draft on the Rob is a podcast patron show, which you can listen to that.
It's not outdated till February, 2026.
Um, I don't remember when she went in that, but I feel like I feel very good.
I guess she could be an easy first out, but there's, there's a, there's a,
like, she doesn't know anybody.
She she's a little bit less connected.
I can see a group of like, let's just get rid of all of you.
However, she's never gonna be the biggest name to get out.
Right.
And I think this is like a hungry group.
You know what I mean?
They're ready.
They want blood.
And I don't think Aubrey's blood is that enticing
as a first.
I think people are gonna go hard.
Especially for how long it's been since she's played and all these changes in her life that we've talked about.
I feel like, like if I'm looking at the board, I'm thinking uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh board. I mean, Suri, I would love to play with Suri. I would wanna keep Suri just because I'm in awe of Suri
and she's on my Mount Rushmore, I love her.
Have you met her before?
Yes.
Yeah, how was that experience for you?
Good, yeah, it was during the Price is Right filming.
Very sweet.
You went to the Price is Right filming.
Yeah, I did.
Did you get on the stage?
Yeah.
What did you, what did you?
My person won. No shit. Yeah. Did you get on the stage? Yeah. What did you? My person won. No shit.
Yeah. Yeah. Did you reap any benefits of that?
Zero.
Not even like a T-shirt.
They don't send you home with like a button.
Nothing. I got to meet Drew Carey.
Wonderful. Which can you put a price on that?
I well, you know, it wasn't Bob Barker, but that's OK.
So I know Bob spanned your pets.
OK, so sorry.
That's that's how he would end his shows.
No, it is. I this is so fun for me.
Kelly, we're really we have we have we're on the same page.
OK, he was very passionate about that.
He was. And I think Drew Carey does the same. Ah, you know, I haven't really watched since Bob departed.
You don't like the new era of Price is Right?
No, because that was my childhood. In the summers, I would watch the Price is Right,
and you had Bob, and he had that just beautiful hair, and he was just, you know, it just, it was Bob. Yeah. Yeah. I hope he and uh, hope he and Betty White are having fun up there.
You know, two of the greats. Yeah, both died at 99, I believe. Insane. Insane.
Yeah, Betty White was like, I'm out. No, I'm done here. Okay. So back to the board.
I also think you look at winners
are obvious targets right away.
I hope not, but I do see that.
I see how that could be.
You look at people that have played together before
that are pairs.
So you would look at even a Camilla, Joe and Kyle.
You look at folks that are on the same season
because they have an immediate connection.
Like who is Aubrey connected to?
Aubrey? She's a free agent. I guess. Saree, I guess. Saree and I guess Ozzy, she played with both of them. I mean, but you don't think of that immediately. Yeah.
Yeah. I don't know who she's like, and this is, you know, speaking as a survivor fan who has like
kind of been tapped in, like I've always been on
like Twitter. I've gone to like survivor events pre going on survivor. I've never met Aubrey. I've
never run into Aubrey. I don't know who Aubrey like runs with, if you will. Like, I don't know who her
like friend group is in this space. So I don't even know like if Aubrey's trying to pregame,
I don't know who she's contacted. You know what I mean? I don't know how she'd get in touch with
these folks. I don't know. I don't know who she'd get in touch with these folks. I don't know.
I don't know who she was pre-gaming with or not.
I would imagine probably not much if I had to guess.
It's just not really her style, I don't think.
Which I do think can be good.
I don't think that's an inherently bad thing, especially if you're on a tribe with like
three people who pre-game super hard and then five people who are just kind of standing around like it's an easy
let's vote out whoever right you know what I just looked at the board and I
thought oh I forgot that she was on Edge of Extinction with Rick but again I
don't think people really put that to there's a difference of playing on a
season with someone versus playing with them yeah I mean her and Rick spent what
like he was the fourth boot. She's fifth.
They spent what? Four days together on the edge of extinction.
Right. Maybe. And then he goes to the game.
Right. Exactly.
And you can bond a lot in four days, but probably not four days, eight years ago.
That seems different. No, no.
So I think I think.
Potential early boot or run deep in the game.
That's how it feels to me.
One of the things.
Do you have any indication on how Rick will do
on season 50?
Spade and new to your pets.
I hear a summer house.
Do you hear a summer house?
Do you hear that? I hear nothing summer house. Do you hear summer house? Do you hear that?
I hear nothing but that.
Kelly is in a hand in stone massage place with the sounds happening
in the background, I think.
Is that on my TV?
It's a it's a it's a black screen.
Yeah. Are you in a haunted house, Kelly?
Is it are you sure that this is a good house
for you to be in?
I'm getting concerned.
My husband actually does think that our house is haunted.
Because he claims that he can hear people
walking up the stairs sometimes.
Can you hear people walking up the stairs?
Well, I sometimes hear noises,
but I think, like, I think I just tell myself
that it's just houses make noises. Houses make noises, but I think like I think I just tell myself that it's just houses make noises.
Houses make noises. Yes. I am going to I think the TV I am going to turn off the TV. I think but
but when I tell you there's nothing on the screen. Yeah, I believe it. I want you to like if this is
if we're going to go to talk to an exorcist or something, I will, I'm on the team that I think something's wrong.
Okay.
Hold on.
I'll be here.
Hold on.
I'll filibuster.
This is my audience.
Now these are, Hey everybody.
I hope you're enjoying this episode of the survive 50 files.
Remember if you haven't bought a Manta sleep mask or any of the
Manta sleep products, please do so.
I will show you mine, but it's in my bedroom where I use it.
Kelly, do you, do you sleep with a sleep mask?
No.
Have you ever tried something with a sleep mask?
Let me see.
It literally was playing Love Island.
It was playing Love Island.
We should talk about Love Island, I think.
We should talk about Love Island.
Well, and this is where we lose people, but that's okay.
Let's talk about Love Island.
Okay. Wait, hold on.
Why did you ask about the sleep mask?
We are, we're sponsored by Mantis sleep,
which you can see down in the thing.
They are my favorite sleep mask creator.
And then we reached out for a sponsorship
and they said yes.
So you can buy a sleep mask
or any of their sleep products using code 50 files.
It's five zero F-I-L-E-S, 50 files.
I was doing an ad while you were turning off the TV.
No, I'm glad you did
because I do think actually this is relevant
because on Love Island, they get sleep masks.
You know who need sleep masks?
Who's that?
Survivor players.
Was your buff not a good enough sleep mask?
That's not me asking like, I think you're ungrateful.
That's just, did it not work for you there?
Well, it was fine.
It was fine, yeah.
Yeah, but the thing with the buff
is that you have to put it over your whole face.
And it's a little bit weird to have something
restricting your mouth like that.
I never liked it.
I slept on a tribe with people who did that
and I did not take to it.
Yeah, it's a little bit, it doesn't feel good.
It's a little odd.
No.
But bugs will crawl around all over.
So it probably good to cover your mouth.
Do you know you're one of the last survivor players
that's played in three unique locations.
Yes, I feel very grateful for that.
And three very different seasons.
Three very different seasons.
Loved ones, second time all returning players and a fan vote and a captain's.
Yeah. Do you still keep in contact with anybody from your first season regularly?
Jeremy and Bell.
Lovely. Love them.
The best. The best.
People, if they live closer to us, we would hang out with them all the time.
Yeah, because Arlen loves them too.
They're great. That's my husband.
Yes.
I talk to Natalie occasionally.
Occasionally through DMs.
Also on the Traders.
Also on the Traders.
Happy for her.
Yeah, I think she'll be great.
She will be great.
And...
That's it.
That's it. That's it.
What one of your seasons was the most fun like during and after watching, partying?
What was like the most fun group to hang with?
Oh, well, season 31.
Yeah.
Yeah.
It's a big personalities.
Yeah.
A lot of personalities sometimes equals not fun, but this was a fun for you.
They were fun. Yeah. I also think it wasn't there was a as hard as everyone played that season.
There was a playfulness to it. Like I don't think anyone was came out of that season really
like hating each other. You know, we had rivalries and there were, but I think everyone played so hard.
There was just so much respect for everyone that played.
But not in a way where we were like lovey-dovey,
like, oh, I love my cast.
But we also didn't hate each other.
If that makes sense.
Yeah, no, that makes sense.
A lot of the groups now,
like the new era groups, they love each other,
but some of them hate each other.
Ooh, well, we don't really see that.
Season 46, I think they went at it.
The Venus Q thing.
The Venus Q, yeah, Maria and Charlie
had a little bit of a situation.
Correction, old woman.
Crazy, crazy.
It got a big reaction at the viewing party.
I watched that old woman.
That was wild. Yeah. Yeah.
By those standards, I'm an old woman.
Send help. I just turned 39, Brandon.
Yeah, your birthday. We both just had birthdays.
We did. we did.
Are you a week after, you're June 9th?
Seventh.
Seventh, wow.
Do you feel like you adhere with the Gemini qualities?
Oh, 100%.
And what are those qualities to you?
Because I don't know enough to know
which ones I identify with,
but what do you identify with?
Kind of like, to the twins, like good on one shoulder, bad on the other shoulder, which one is going to present on any given day.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Who knows?
Who knows?
Nobody's seen my bad, my bad twin.
I got to bring out my bad twin.
You know what I mean?
But that twin doesn't mean like mean.
It can just be a little like thriving in chaos.
I don't think I ever thrived in chaos.
Really?
I think I thrive in order.
You know what I mean?
I love all.
Well, no, I do, too.
I like lists.
I like being organized.
I like having a plan.

You were saying something, who else is our week of June?
Is that what you're saying?
John Carroll.
John Carroll.
Love John.
You did the sequester game with John Carroll,
is that right?
Back in the day?
I believe so, yes.
That was fun.
Whoa.
That's a throwback right there.
Wow. Did you know people were pregaming for that?
Surprised me.
Did you not get into pregaming for that?
Oh, no, no, I was deep in it. Yeah.
Phone calls, Zoom calls.
Who won? Did you? You didn't win.
Who won? No.
Kellan won. Kellan.
Kellan won because Kellan and Abby are doing the final thing.
Abby says social.
You remember how Abby's answer was so good.
Oh, how could I forget?
She said one other word, too.
She said social and then she said.
What does she say? There was something else.
There were two funny things
because she was she was deep in the cocktails.
Sure. And it got late. Got late late people who weren't there will never understand never how much fun that was for seven hours
Well, it was also kovat. It was deep. So it was it was
Kind of the entertainment no, no one was doing anything
I mean it was well, you know other than all that horrible stuff that was happening, but people were at home.
Sure.
You know, sure, sure.
So yeah, it was fun.
That was fun.
Wow.
If you had to text Aubrey like advice right before she like got off the plane, what would
you have said right before she started this journey?
I think I did text her.
Oh, you did read that?
This is the first text reading on the 50 files. So let's see. Let's see. Let's see what did text her. Oh, you did. Oh, read that. This is the first text reading on the 50 files.
So let's see.
Let's see.
Let's see what I text her.
I text Angelina too.
Oh, I want to hear that.
Do you have a friendship with Angelina?
Yeah.
Oh, lovely.
Okay.
Let me see if there's anything in here I can't say.
Sure.
Okay.
This is what I said.
It's kind of long.
I said, good luck on your journey, babe.
You are strong.
You are smart.
You're socially aware.
You're good with people you know to do and you know how to do it.
Find others weaknesses and strengths and use them to your advantage.
Anybody but you.
Sandra Diaz trying.
I'm sending my positivity, strength and survivor.
You can do this attitude your way.
I believe in you and can't wait to hear all about it when you're back.
I'll hold down these social media streets and keep a log so we can giggle together when you return with the Millie.
Love you and never forget you're a boss ass bitch.
Oh my God, that's so nice.
Yeah.
Did she answer?
Well, yeah.
She said, thank you so much.
You're the best.
I love you.
That's so nice.
Yeah.
And then what did I say to Angelina?
You said Angelina, you said good luck.
I said good luck.
Bring a jacket.
Let me look.
It wasn't like that, but maybe similar.
This is so much fun.
I didn't think we'd get text readings on this episode.
This is thrilling.
Yeah, let me see.
Where is Angelina?
Oh, there she is.
Let's see what I said to her.
Okay. I said, go get them sister.
I use language sometimes. I said, you're a strong, smart, boss ass bitch. Don't ever forget it one single day.
Relationships from the start. Be social. Have fun.
Throw any how under the bus you have to if it means you stay.
Tomorrow is always a new day and a new opportunity, sending you so much love and strength.
Wow, that's so nice. What a great friend. You know what I mean? That's so nice.
You need a little pep talk before you go. It's stressful.
I texted Dean Emily. I think they were my only friends.
What did you say? You're like, good luck. I don't listen. I don't know if mine was that good.
I'm searching.
OK, well, tell me what you said. I'm so excited.
Do I still have my
tax to you know, it's so funny.
OK, so I'm looking at my text from D.
I sent D a really long thing when she left for the challenge.
Oh, right. So my text on May 26th at 56 p.m.
was I wasted my good long text for the fucking challenge.
And that was it.
That was my text to my text to my text to Emily, I think is very long.
But that was my text to Dee was, OK, I already sent the law.
Like, you got it. You know, it's the same stuff.
Yeah, it's the same thing. Same. That being said about D, I already sent the law, like you got it. You know, it's the same stuff.
Yeah, it's the same thing.
Same, same, same.
That being said about Dee, I said to her during the
challenge, and I say this all the time about Dee,
nobody is better at locking in the way that Dee can lock in.
You know what I mean?
Like, Dee came in as a survivor, wanted to win,
and she won.
Before she left for, you know, the challenge,
I said the same thing.
I said, like, you can lock it.
Like, if you want something, it's yours. And I think everything in her life has gone that way. So I'm excited to
see it happen. You need to relax. How cool am I going to sound if it seems like it's impossible,
and then it happens. That's what I'm excited about. You know what I mean? How will you feel if she's first boot?
Um, I will be sad because I know that she like wants it really bad, but everybody wants it bad. So I think it but I also like and again I don't I don't want that by any means. Um, she she will
come home to a lot of support if that's the case and I think really I think she will take it better
than other people would take it if they were the first out. I think that the first out on the All-Star
season is like, you know, Natalie Anderson sands her because she comes back, you know,
from edge, whatever. But I think it is like, for some people, like ego crushing and like,
you know, life defining. And I think that she has enough humor about like how she goes
about things that she could she she'd make her way out of it. Whereas I think that she has enough humor about like how she goes about things that she could she'd make her way out of it.
Whereas I think some people that we just looked at on that graphic, I think it would be game
over for them.
Yeah.
And here's the thing about that.
Someone has to be first.
Somebody's got to be someone has to be second, someone has to be third.
And I do think sometimes fans can be very brutal in saying things like, see, they're
not actually that good of a survivor player
or see, and it's like, that's not true
because survivor is one of the hardest games.
There's so much to it.
And you know, you've been out there.
It is, it looks so much easier on TV
than when you get out there
and you are navigating new people, personalities, new
relationships, you're trying to play your own game, you have to think about everybody
else, you have to lie, that's not natural. Lying to people's faces is not natural. Making
friends with someone within a few hours, not natural. Not eating, not going to the bathroom,
all these things contribute to this very unique, difficult,
kind of strange experience. And so, I hope that people understand that, that whoever
goes first, whoever even goes the first couple, doesn't mean they're bad survivor players.
And the luck, you know what I mean? That immunity challenge is a block being put on a thing
a millisecond before somebody else puts the block on a thing.
And you think about like survivor is a game of rounds of like, Oh, 17 people
can go home, six people can go and whatever, but like it really is your tribe.
Right.
You lose.
That's when the game, the voting portion of the game starts.
So you're in a tribe of eight.
It's one of the eight of you, you know what I mean?
And then if you lose a couple more times, it's a, it's a hard thing, but I, I
hope that, you know, I talked to Kellan today. Spoiler alert for tomorrow when
I talked to Chrissy, I talked to Kellan. And Kellan's like, I
just you know, we want everybody to come home. Okay. You know,
anybody's gonna come home, you know, maybe four people come
home happy. But we want everybody to come home. Okay. Um,
is the goal. Kelly Wentworth, what is Love Island doing
that's better than what Survivor's doing on TV?
Everybody's so jazzed about Love Island.
Like what's the lesson that Survivor can take away
from something from Love Island?
Okay.
So here's what makes Love Island juicy.
So here's what makes Love Island juicy. Now it is dating, which is very different from a survival competition show in the game
for a million dollars.
Very different concepts.
But what makes it juicy is that they bring these people together and they start forming
relationships,
much like survivor, but in this case,
romantic relationships.
Love.
And then they start to get them comfortable.
They're sleeping in the same beds.
They're together every day.
And then they bring in bombshells, new blood, new hotties.
Hotties.
Hot men, gorgeous woman.
Sure.
And then as I say, in the UK version, heads start turning.
Exactly.
For the audio listeners, I turned my head just then.
Exactly.
Someone could have come through the door.
And so then it starts getting very messy
because they have these existing relationships.
It's almost like the
merge or tribe swap on Survivor. And now you've got to maybe make new relationships. But again,
feelings are involved and these are relationships and some people are getting physical. So that's
kind of fun to like bring in new blood. And then the other thing they do is that they
let the audience vote on their favorite people.
Not what immunity necklace do you want us to have next season,
but who are your favorite people or your favorite couple
or who do you not like?
And then the Islanders sometimes have to choose
to vote them out publicly.
So that's kind of like Survivor.
Would you like it if you can picture your Hunapu tribe from season 29? Well, I can picture it well. And your
your day six, nobody's gone home yet. And they a bombshell. You
get this new guy. We'll make them up. You know, Todd, that
shows up. Devin Pinto. Okay, throw in Devin Pinto. Fuck Todd.
I hate Todd. Devin Pinto is a better riff. Throw in Devin Pinto. Fuck Todd. I hate Todd. Devin Pinto is a better riff.
Throw in Devin Pinto.
And then you guys all get to vote
if we take Devin Pinto and put him in the game
over one of the people on your tribe.
Is that fine?
Right.
And that person is then voted out?
That person is voted out.
Yeah, let's go.
Take Devin Pinto.
Who are you voting out over Devin Pinto?
Who gets the Devin Pintos?
Who's spot does Devin Pinto get?
Is that, are you joking?
I want you to say it.
It's funnier if I tee you up, right?
Drew Kesty.
Icon.
Icon.
I look forward to aligning with him on the future pre-jury season of Survivor. Drew Christie. Icon. Icon.
I look forward to aligning with him on the future pre-jury season of Survivor.
Yes.
That goes straight to Paramount Plus.
Perfect.
Or just plays on Delta flights.
We don't even have to put it on Paramount Plus.
You can just play it on Delta.
I think we'd be great.
You'd be great.
Yeah. I'd be great. You'd be great. Yeah, I'd be great.
You'd be great.
So did you know that you're Christy?
He got bit by a Chihuahua in the pregame, the, uh, the, the, the trip, the pre-jury trip.
Like a bad bite on his leg, but like, like seeking medical attention.
He didn't seek it out, but maybe could have used it.
I think it healed.
Sure, because that's a small dog to get bit by.
It was in Costa Rica.
Did he did he engage with the dog?
Like, was he trying to taunt the dog?
Because I don't know, Drew Christie, but it seems like he's the kind of guy
who would taunt a dog.
I don't think so. Oh, unprovoked.
Did you send the dog to bite Drew Christie?
I will do a lot of things,
but that was not one of them, no.
You went on the pre-drew,
now how was that for you?
Was that fun?
It had its moments, indeed.
I will tell you the one thing
that made the experience actually fun is that it was the
World Cup.
And Costa Rica was doing very well.
So we will go to bars, we went to four different town cities.
And we will go to bars and watch the games with the locals. And I remember one place we went, we got trashed
because they drink beer there.
And at one of the bars,
I mean, the handlers were with us,
like we were having a great time.
They were just out, like we were all,
ah, ah, go Zerika, like the flag, let's go.
And one time they won,
and if they won, they gave you a bucket of beers equal to how many you
had already ordered so they won and all of a sudden we're done we've dusted the buckets we
don't need anymore okay we're about to go to the food truck outside we don't need anymore and they
just bring out like four buckets of beer and we're all looking at it like sideways.
Eyes, yeah.
I don't think we drank them.
I don't know what we did.
I don't remember, but that was fun.
That was fun.
And all the while you're with your dad too.
Oh yeah.
Which is fun.
Cause how often do you get to go
on a couple of week trip with your dad?
You know, it was fun.
And looking back, I wish, I wish I had taken it in more at the time
because there were such big feelings
after being voted out of Survivor.
And you really just rehash it over and over.
You know how this works.
And I stayed in a room with him.
We slept in the same hotel room.
And at one point I remember we were at breakfast
and I just like lost it.
And I was like, I just need to be by myself today.
Like I can't be around you anymore.
And I do feel really bad about that because I wish I had like,
we had a really great time.
We had so many fun memories, but there were some moments where I was definitely being bratty.
And I feel, I feel badly for that because I was just still so in my emotions about
getting out of survivor.
And so yeah, there's some things I would take back.
But overall, we had a good time.
We went surfing.
We did, they had a, they try to keep you busy
on these trips.
They would try to plan things
because they don't want you sitting around moping.
They want, you know, horseback riding
and then go climb this thing and do zip lining
and do you want to go get a massage?
And they like, they try and keep you
busy with stuff. So yeah. You know, they just send you home. I know. I know our entertainment
in the pre jury was I've I've heard podcasts. I've read blog posts about this this DVD box
that is the Ponderosa and I get there and I say I want to see the DVD box that is the Ponderosa. And I get there and I say,
I want to see the DVD box.
So they brought me the DVD box.
And it's like it's a big tub of the newest movie in there.
I categorize them all by year because I was bored.
And I love lists, Kelly Wentworth.
Yes. And the newest movie in there.
I played Survivor in 2023.
The newest movie was Argo, which came out in 2012.
So there's no new movies.
Oh, I know the box.
I've seen it.
I know what you're talking about.
You have seen the box.
Three times.
Three times.
Wow.
What did you watch?
Yeah.
What did you watch?
I love, this is so much fun for me.
We watched, so the DVD of dodgeball did not work.
And we would not take no for an answer.
So we watched the first 15 minutes of dodgeball, hoping it would work four times.
We watched me, Sabaya and Hannah Rose watched the day after tomorrow with Dennis Quaid,
which is a movie that I really like a lot.
I watched Willy Wonka, was in the DVD box. That's my all time favorite movie.
So I watched that, I believe by myself.
I love-
The original Willy Wonka.
The original.
Okay, yeah, you gotta do, okay.
And then we watched, I mean, The Hangover.
Like we all-
Oh, classic.
We had a Hangover night where we all,
and like, it's so funny, we have The Hangover night
and the first four of us did not drink.
So we all watched the hangover sober, which was very fun.
What did you watch in the movie box?
So in Nicaragua, John Rocker would always put on Seinfeld.
Okay.
Yeah, that was always on.
And then in 31, I was only there a day. Sure. So nothing
happened. And then 38, I was sick. I was sick, sick. So I didn't really watch anything. Yeah.
The hack is you pick a movie that somebody's going to watch, you leave a note in it. Ah,
and you say, Hey, it's like a time capsule. It won't help anybody.
It says, hey, this is Brandon from season 45.
I don't know you, but good luck.
Not good luck.
You're already out of the game.
I don't know you, but sorry that this happened to you.
Can I ask you a question?
So I want to I'm now I love talking
swapping ponderosa stories.
Did they give you a menu with food that you could choose from?
Or how did you food work? On the boat ride home, I had a menu that they they I believe the boat ride
home I don't think I was presented a menu as much as they told me like what
do you want to eat? I got a burger it was not good. This the resort that we were at
they are great at everything except a burger. They do not make a good burger.
I wonder if we were at the same resort? Probably not. I don't I think they have
since left that one.
I think this was a well, you know what?
The one that you do at the resort is the Love Island Resort.
You know what? What's the resort that seasons 43 to I believe 46
were at is the Love Island Resort.
Write it down.
A content idea.
You're joking. Yeah.
What? No, no, no, no, no, no.
I swear to God that doc that that Leah and Rob were on.
No, I cried on that doc.
You're lying to me right now.
Yes, I didn't know that.
Like, I didn't I don't know who Leah and Robert Kelly.
No, Bandia just told me that. Shut up.
But yeah, so if you pause it, I can like I can circle the places where we stood.
Like, that's my pool. You know what I mean?
I love that pool. You actually use the pool where we stood like that's my pool. You know what I mean? I love that pool.
You actually use the pool because nobody on the violin uses the pool.
They just sit and stare at it.
No, I jumped in that pool.
Oh, my God. You wouldn't believe how much I was in that pool.
I pictures from it.
Yes. So that's the that was our resort.
Yeah. Write it down. Content.
I'm going to tag you if I make this video.
Unbelievable. Okay.
So, wow.
Okay.
So not the same, not the same location then.
So they did have a restaurant that you can order at.
But I was very like, I really liked the routine of Ponderosa.
I liked that I could have my same breakfast every morning, my same lunch, and then my
dinner we would switch up.
But I really liked that part of it.
I would get chicken and rice for lunch.
I would get eggs and bacon for breakfast.
And then the dinner, anybody's guess.
You know what I mean?
Wow. I'd go wild.
I tried so many new foods over there.
I tried fish for the first time.
Delicious.
Delicious.
Are you Sam from season 47 or what's going on?
You know what's so funny?
Yes.
Like I have that too,
but I'm trying to get out of my box.
I'm trying to have new stuff.
So a lot of the stuff that I'm trying,
I'm trying for the first time.
Oh my gosh.
I don't love fried fish.
I actually, I was with a couple of people
who were making this and I tried red snapper,
which was delicious.
Oh wow. Was it the full fish which was delicious. Oh, wow.
Was it the full fish?
Full fish.
Oh, wow.
Okay.
Delicious.
I mean, we had it for the table, so I took a couple bites.
Sure.
But I really, my New Year's resolution was to get in on seafood.
You go out to dinner and you're, you know, everybody wants to go to get sushi.
Everybody wants to go to get seafood.
And then I have to be the guy who's like, well, I don't want that, you know, and that sucks.
Nobody wants to be that guy.
So wow, try my best to get out of my box.
And how do you feel about that?
Because sushi is not for everyone.
I don't know about you, but it's a texture thing.
I'm pretty good with sushi now.
Some things I can't do, but I do think raw fish,
the texture can be a little bit disturbing or something.
I have not given it the chance it deserves. I did have like a steak tartare, beef tartare,
a meat tartare.
No, no, no, no, no, no.
But I liked it.
No, I won't do that. And I liked it enough to want to try a sushi-esque thing
because I feel like texture-wise similar.
Tuna tartar I do love
because I like stuff that's very citrusy.
Like when it has a citrus, it kind of covers the flavor.
Is tuna tartar citrus?
Because that talks me into wanting to try it.
You might be, maybe I'm thinking of OK, there's.
There's tartar and then there's
what's the other one called is tartar where it's cubed.
Tartar is where it's cubed. Yeah. Yeah.
I'm also thinking of ceviche, which is not tuna.
Yeah, tartar. Yeah, maybe I'll try that.
And ceviche can be good. That's very citrusy too.
Yes, that looks daunting to somebody who does not.
No, no, no.
It's actually good.
I promise you.
There's a place in Astoria, Queens that opened up around the corner for me that is a ceviche
restaurant that people are raving about.
Oh, okay.
You can do that because you could do shrimp or you could do usually it's a white fish,
which I think is what I like.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Okay.
Well, look at us.
I'm proud of you.
I'm proud of you, too.
I'm proud of you.
This was this was fun.
I feel like poor Aubrey, like.
Okay.
I feel like only half of it was about Aubrey, but this is the thing with
Survivor players.
We have so many fun little things that we are not the same
but are the same.
So it's really fun to talk about it.
I think this is great.
And I think that we covered Aubrey.
We know Aubrey, we love Aubrey.
We hope Aubrey is gonna do really well.
Yes.
And we can't wait for confessionals.
Aubrey's gonna get good confessionals.
Yes, can I say one thing?
I looked up the confessional stats for Korong.
Yes, please.
Aubrey had the second highest.
Ty had 74, Aubrey had 70, and the next was Michelle at 57.
They give her airtime every time she's on the show.
Actually, that's not true at all.
Because notably, she did not get airtime the second time.
As much.
As much. But much. Yeah.
But she's gonna deliver.
It's her second time playing
with an all returning group of people.
Yes.
Yeah.
I have high hopes.
And you know what Aubrey does well?
Aubrey makes a pop culture reference.
Which not enough people are doing in their confessionals.
Aubrey referenced Oregon Trail, I believe.
Yes.
Like let's do more of that.
If you can do a pop culture reference, I'm in.
Yes.
Yes.
Bring me back to, well, yeah, you probably never played Oregon Trail.
I got in on the tail end.
You did?
I, that was more of what I would call a lie.
I think that was a lie what I would call a lie.
I think that was a lie.
I've seen it.
I know what it is.
You never actually been on a PC with a very long back.
With a little.
No, I've been on a PC with a very long.
Roller coaster Tycoon was on that.
Ah, okay, yep.
Yeah, yeah.
The Sims, were you playing OG Sims?
Yes, of course. Yeah, okay. So. Yeah, yeah. The Sims? Were you playing OG Sims? Yes, of course.
Okay, so you get the reference.
I've never died of dysentery.
It's not fun.
No.
It's not fun.
People DM me after the Survivor 45 episode one
and they thought that was dysentery.
And I said, no, that was a panic attack.
That wasn't anything that had to do with dysentery.
I know.
Can I ask you one quick question? Ask me everything.
You know the account, the AI, the editing account with the AI with the voiceover?
Yes.
I tagged you in that because I find those humorous.
I feel like if you could, like you have to be able to laugh for yourself.
Yes.
To make other people laugh with you, not at you.
Yes.
That's how I feel.
That's why I try to make funny content because I feel like we're just all like, we got to all just be in on the joke together. Yes. That's how I feel. And that's why I try to make funny content. Cause I feel like we're just all like, we got to all just be in on the joke together. Yes. Like if I would ever go on a show,
if someone doesn't do funny content about the dumb shit I do, then I'm going to be mad. Of course.
I'll have that covered. You will. Okay. Yes. So the question I had, did you find that funny or did
that upset you? I found that funny. I found the content of the video funny. And you have there are, I would say 75% of the comments
are funny. Yeah, 25% of them. I my face. Yeah, my favorite hate
comment that I got was like, he is why like America won't win
another war or something like it was, which is really funny. You
know, if you can be creative, I like it.
But you get the 25% who is like, is mean.
But I like, I commented on it.
I said like, oh, I haven't talked to my therapist recently.
I should check in or something.
And that's, I like to, I'm doing PR, you know,
I want everybody to know like I'm in on,
listen, would I pick that to happen?
No, of course not.
Are we 20 seconds away from watching it at any given time on Paramount Plus?
Because we all have a phone in our pocket.
Of course we are.
So you got to just you got to just like it.
You know what I mean? You have to embrace it.
You got to embrace it. And like Kevin's dive last season,
I was like, just embrace it.
You got to laugh at yourself.
Was really cool. You know what I mean? He had his whole cast dive into a pool and they filmed. That's what I mean. He just embrace it. You gotta laugh at yourself. Was really cool. You know what I mean?
He had his whole cast dive into a pool and they filmed it.
That's what I mean.
He's embracing it.
You just gotta, we're all just people.
We do silly things unintentionally or intentionally.
If you look at the thumbnail for this podcast,
all the thumbnails are the same.
It's like a crime dossier, whatever.
There's a hidden ladder on there somewhere
that nobody's called out yet, but it's on it.
I'm gonna have to look.
Okay, this is fun.
Kelly Wentworth.
Okay, yes, we should wrap up.
Do you have people to check out?
You know, I'm on social media if you wanna join me.
I feel like we've created a fun little community.
I do, you know, talking about TV shows,
doing kind of humor and little skits or reenactments.
It's my name, Kelly Wentworth on Instagram.
Kelly Wentworth underscore on TikTok
because somebody has my handle
and they won't let me claim it, Kelly Wentworth.
Is it another Kelly Wentworth?
Is it a fellow person named Kelly Wentworth?
No.
Okay.
It's fake.
There should be like a Judge Judy-esque show
that deals with that.
You know what I mean?
I know, I agree.
I'd love to. I mean, I have my name on. I'm over-prepared. I have my name on.
But if I didn't, you know.
Okay. Well, no need to rub that in my face.
I don't want to end on a bad note.
Thank you, everybody, for joining us for this episode of The Survivor 50 Files.
Excuse me. We will be back next time with a new episode. Thank you so much, everybody. Take care. Bye.
Thank you to our friends at Manta Sleep for sponsoring this episode of the survivor 50
files. You've made it to the end of the podcast. You've been here long enough. Let me show
you my sleep mask, the one that I use and I use every night. Here it is. This is I've worn this every night for the past couple of years,
minus the four nights that I spent on Survivor, the television show.
And it sucks to get buttered out of Survivor, but a little bit better
when you know you're going back home to this.
This is 100 percent light blackout for deeper sleep.
You put this on, can't see anything.
When I watched the first two episodes of Survivor 45, I put this
guy on. I don't have to relive it, which is great. It's adjustable for a personalized
fit. You can see I've quite a big head. I don't want to show you the details of I've
kind of worn out the elastic, but it's durable. This guy hasn't broke. I've worn it every
night for the past couple of years and it's zero pressure on your eyelids or eyelashes.
I've converted so many people to getting this sleep mask when I wasn't
doing this and I want to convert you. Use promo code 50 files. That's five zero F I
L E S on a Mantis sleep website to get 10% off your order. That's 50 files, five zero
F I L E S. We'll see you soon.
