This week on Survivor, the Survivor world was in unison, recoiling from what happened this week
where Rhode Island Rob walked away from the game, sparking outrage from east to west of the United States.
And so we thought, what are the most significant quits in Survivor history?
Who was legit? Who was acquit? Here to talk about it with me. It's not Kevin Smith. It's Brandon Donlin.
Brandon, how are you?
You know, I've been better because, you know what, Rob took my spot.
Yeah.
I could have been on that show if Rob didn't quit.
And he quit, and thus my spot was taken by a guy who didn't even want to be there.
That sucks.
He took your spot on Survivor 51.
He did.
He did.
I apply every year for this show.
And they didn't put me on it.
Yes.
And these are the guys they're taken for this show?
Yes.
That sucks.
Okay.
Well, we're going to do an exercise here.
today, you have compiled every person who has ever quit the show, and we are going to put them
into the tier list, and it could be T-E-A-R for these people who wanted to quit Survivor, and we're
going to rank them in three levels that you came up with. Tell us about this system.
You know, this was inspired by, I was in a, I was in a very long car ride with Survivor 47's
very own Andy over the weekend. And we, we, we,
We kind of mentally did this, going through each quitter of Survivor,
sorting them into, Rob and I thought of the name Too Legit to Quit.
I think you thought of it.
That's a great name.
Too legit.
Too legit, too quit.
Are you familiar with that song?
You're familiar with the works of Hammer?
I've held a hammer, but very minimally.
Unless he's gone back to MC Hammer.
I didn't know that was a song by MC Hammer.
Not MC from Survivor.
No, no. But she would make a great song, I'm sure if she tried.
Yeah.
Too Legit to Quit is a 1991 song by MC Hammer featuring the singer Saja, Saja, Saja.
Yes, yes.
Okay.
Soon to be an open-era tribe name, Saja.
It was from the follow-up album to the huge Please Hammer Don't Hurt them, I believe, was the original album that went,
mega platinum.
And that's the Can't Touch this album?
You can't touch this, right?
Sure, sure, sure.
Is he a one-hit wonder, or are we these songs?
No, no, there's a couple.
He has a couple of the songs.
Is he still with us, M.C. Hammer?
I believe so. I believe he still makes commercials.
He's not been on any of the celebrity reality shows that I love so much,
which he seems like a guy who would pop up as the,
as like the coat hanger on the mass singer or something.
You would think so. He would think so. He's too legit for that.
To quit.
Yeah.
We have three tiers.
of quitter here.
We have legit
as our top tier
a valid reason to want to have left
the television program
we know and love a survivor.
We have quit.
Nothing much to say about it.
It's a quit.
Could have been punched up,
but it's not the worst thing in the world.
Could have gone either way.
Yeah.
Either way.
And then we have bullshit
as the third tier,
which is, what are we doing?
What are we doing?
Put to, you know,
rub some dirt on it,
get back out in the game.
Right.
And those are sparing, but they're there in our list of, it's an interesting thing.
Survivor, if you Google any article this week, there are 16 canonical quitters in the show's history.
We have 18 on this list, and I will explain the two extra ones afterward.
Okay.
Wow, we've got about a season of quitters now.
We can make it.
Well, one of our quitters, spoiler, didn't ever play the season.
Okay.
Because she quit the day before.
Okay.
What a wild card.
Should we put the tier list on the stage?
Yeah, let's go ahead.
And, okay, let's take a look at what you have put together here for us.
And we'll start in order with our first ever canonical quitter of the show.
Now, people will remember, BB technically asks for a vote out.
We don't count that.
Roger Bingham, famously at the final five is like, take Elizabeth instead of me.
We're not counting it.
The first ever, I'm ready to get out of here, is Austin Taylor.
of Survivor Pearl Islands.
Okay.
So Austin, and it was a big deal.
Jeff threw his torch on the ground.
He said, Austin, get it.
What do you say?
Go home, get out of here.
And it was a big deal, but, yes?
No, no.
I'm like Santa, or a kid listening to Santa.
You know what I mean?
Sit down.
We're talking about O.T.
And he did want to go home.
Now, he had sold his clothing.
at the marooning and did not get much for it.
Nobody asked him to sell his clothes, but he did.
And then stayed out in the jungle for, I mean, I'm not sure at what point he quit.
I feel like it's like it would have been like the very end of the newer season.
I want to say it was like day 21 or something.
Yeah.
And he's been cold and wet that whole time.
Yeah.
He's been dealing with that pelican.
That pelican was giving him some smoke.
Right.
And so I think had the outcasts already come back into the game also?
Like, it could have been a little bit of like, really?
Well, this is the round where they have now come back in.
So they're doing the double tribal where Sean Cohen also leaves.
So, yeah, he could have been over it in that respect.
I think the outcast had come, like they had announced the outcast, like earlier in the day.
And they lost the challenge to the outcast.
And they had to vote somebody out.
And so it would have been like, you know what?
Get me out of here.
I'm an Austin Taylor, get me out of here.
There's some talk of a, and I don't remember this, and I didn't Google it because I wanted you to tell me,
there was some talk of a staff infection.
Did he say he had that, or did he happen?
I don't want to misrepresent it, but I'm going to look up his wiki real quick so I can get the official number of days that he ended up playing on the show.
Oh, listen, let's play a game.
Austin Taylor, older or younger than?
than Rob Cesternino.
Older or younger than your boy?
My guess would have been...
Okay, so it's 2003.
I say he's 30 in 2003.
So that's plus 2013.
He's 53, final answer.
He's not 53, but he is older than me.
What's the age?
He's the big 50.
Happy...
Yeah, and soon it'd be 51 in December.
What are we going to do for it?
Yeah.
He lasted until day 19.
Yeah, I mean, that's what?
That's, who's getting voted out on day 19?
Like, Bruce Peralt on 45?
Like, I think that's around that.
You go in the eighth place spot is probably day 19.
Yeah.
And so, in an interview, Austin revealed that he quit because he had multiple staff infections.
How do you know, now, I don't know you could, like, I feel like you have a staff infection or you don't.
I didn't know you got multiple.
But this is a quit.
This is, and you know what, bordering on legit.
Yeah, I think so.
I think, I mean, we'll talk about Purple Kelly, who is put out there with no clothes.
It is kind of Austin's fault that he had no clothes, but I get why you can't sustain this environment.
Yeah.
With no clothing.
Okay.
All right.
Now, he's Austin with an O.
Do you think that Carter would think that that's, does Carter have friends that are Austin with an O'ST?
I have never encountered another Austin with an O.
No.
And it really, when I read it, I have to physically try not to say OSTO.
Austin.
It looks like OSTIT.
Mm-hmm.
The way that Aric looks like Aric.
Yeah.
I mean, do you think that this should be legit?
This is the first one, so it's tough to find where our rubric is.
No, I think this is the first canonical quit.
And there is no legit, I think, and we'll get to it is medical.
But you know what?
That nobody had ever quit the show before.
So I think that there's like, there's some present, like, can somebody quit the show?
We hadn't, like, only Mike Scoopin had been pulled for medical reasons.
So we had not gotten to the point where,
survivor medical was like,
this is looking pretty bad.
We're going to pull this guy.
Yeah, and I wonder, I mean,
it was that, did that happen,
and they didn't air it that he had medical visits?
Did they know what a staff infection was in 2003?
I got to be honest.
Do I know what a staff infection is in 2020-6?
Yeah.
When the crew gets sick, that's what I call a staff infection.
Yeah.
It's a disease called by
a strafellacoccus bacteria,
a group of germs that live harmlessly on the skin,
or in the nose about 30% of people,
these bacteria turn into an infection
when they enter the body through a break in the skin.
Yeah, I think everybody on Survivor Co-Rong,
they were given it.
It was like the sea of money.
Everybody just got a staff infection.
They handed it out to the whole cast.
So, I mean, I don't know how dangerous they are.
I'm not a doctor.
Yeah. Okay.
But maybe it's not the worst infection.
that the severity of staff infection ranges from harmless,
completely harmless or minor to severe and life-threatening.
Oh, that doesn't help us very much at all.
So, okay, let's literally leave it as a quit.
And we need to set the rubric.
You know what I mean?
We have to have a leveling ground.
Right.
And people will be at the top of quit or the bottom.
I could see him being at the bottom of legit or at the top of quit.
So he's right in that area.
Sure.
Afterward, only about, what, nine episodes,
canonically of Survivor afterward, we have
your one-time good friend
Jenna Maraska who quits on the third
episode of Survivorovic. I think you still say
my good friend.
Well, then, I mean, then it's
2003. You got your good friends,
you know. People fade with time.
So Jenna Maraska, she left in Survivor
All-Stars, that she knew her mom was
in failing health. She
felt like that she had a feeling that things
were not going well. It turned
out to be a very
astute feeling. Her mom passed
away soon. She got home in time. Got to say this is legit. Legit. Can I ask you questions about
when you lived this? You were there? Sure. Did you meet Jenna Marasca's mom leading up to Survivor?
Yes. At the, oh, but at the finale and I had visited her one time in person.
Did you know going into Survivor All-Stars that her mom was sick? Yes. I mean, it was quite a big
plot point in Survivor All-Stars.
But close to the end, rather.
I mean, you would, like, what did I know at 24?
Like, oh, like, things are, like, you know, the whole time I knew her that her mom had had cancer,
so I did not know that necessarily the things were deteriorating.
And they really, and I haven't rewatched the episode in quite some time,
but I don't think they make, like, a big thing of, like, I think in, when Sue quits,
they're showing the people from, I guess they're showing Jenna, like, they're showing people
she had prior relationships with.
You really had no confessional.
You had no camera shot after Geniquets.
Yeah.
They, you know, that...
Nothing.
You know?
Did you say anything unremarkable when she left?
I mean, I'm sure I said goodbye to my friend.
Yeah, that's really interesting.
You were, you lived it.
You were there for that.
I was there.
And that's, this is legit.
I mean, you kind of,
hard thing to say is a, is a negligible quit.
That's a pretty legitimate reason to go.
We don't have Terry on this list.
Did Terry quit?
Terry Dietz?
Yeah, what are they, that they don't count Terry Dietz as a canonical quit?
Let's see what Survivor, Cambodia, the Wikipedia page, calls what Terry did.
A family ledevac.
So Terry withdrew.
With Drew?
Yeah.
Next, on the podcast this week, you're going to be withrew.
kind of in a couple days.
But Terhites withdrew to a family emergency is what the Wikipedia is.
Okay.
I mean, we'll call that legit also.
Honor and legit.
Yeah.
And then we have Sue Hawke.
Yeah, Sue Hawke.
Recent guests on the podcast, we're going to call this legit at all.
Here's what, like, are you going to make me rank Jenna and Sue?
They don't count.
Don't screenshot it.
They're tied for first.
Are we ranking this?
So, yeah, Jeff recently did an interviewer.
He talked about this, and he talked about how he actually had regrets about how he handled this,
that he really just didn't want Sue to leave the game.
And so he had some regret about how he had handled that situation.
Yeah, I think it's one of the clips that I think he said also that he has a hard time watching it whenever it pops up.
And I get it.
But that's also the passage of time.
You realize how you could have handled things better after.
20 years. But yeah. Both pretty legit. And those are really the only like lockdown legits of the whole list.
Yeah, I'm going to be honest. Podcasts kind of a downer so far.
Well, we're going to get into something super fun. Here's a, here's Genu from Survivor for Lowe.
Okay. So Janu was the one that quit. She quit at tribal council, if I recall, right? Where I think it was that the case was, and this was that,
A real talking point, I feel like, in the Survivor Sucks era, was that Stephanie was really on the ropes at tribal council.
And then people felt like that Jeff pressured Genu into walking away, correct?
That is what people think.
I don't remember if the edited show looks like that in my mind.
Where do people get that from?
I think that hasn't Genu said that?
I think that it was the edit gave you that impression.
Oh, interesting.
And what was he, I mean, your recollection, what is he saying to Genu?
Like, you're not going to win.
Why don't you let her stay?
Is that what he's saying?
I'd have to go and see if I can dig up my notes from TEOS of, let me see if I can do that.
Luckily, I think I can bring them up pretty quick and see what the issue was.
What I will say while you're doing that about Genu in particular is I think this is so interesting.
And I support my people don't remember.
Check the tape.
My bold prediction for season 45 of Survivor in Fiji a week before the game started with Dalton Ross was somebody is going to quit to save an ally, which I think is super compelling TV, ultimately ends up happening at the First Tribal Council of Survivor 45.
But I love when people do this.
I think like I watch Survivor for like the human psychology and the people interacting with each other in a unique way.
If you want to quit so your buddy can go further, do it.
I think that's awesome.
So I, it's again, like what was.
Was Janu going to win the season? No. Was
Genu going to be voted off shortly after that? If she didn't
quit? Yes.
Do you want to give Stephanie one more shot
to win immunity? Yes. Sure. Love it.
She went to Exile Island.
She comes back and she says it was great.
She says it came full circle.
She didn't want to come back
to the tribe from Exile Island.
And
this must be a tribal council.
Jeff asked Janu.
Genu, why keep you? She said, there's no reason.
And Stephanie said,
It kills me.
Somebody who could care less.
I'd kill to be here.
She said, I've already received what I wanted to receive from this experience.
Jeff said, do you feel like you're on the hot seat?
And Stephanie said, I know I am.
And so, Genu said there would be no difference in me throwing down my torch.
So Jeff says to her, as per your wishes, your game is over tonight.
So, you know, it's ironic because I kind of feel like a new era survivor.
Like, Genu's like, hey, I got what I needed to get out of the experience.
I think that they would have probably applauded her.
Yeah, it's all about the experience.
It's all about the experience.
So I'll say that to me, this is maybe the top of BS.
I get, I like it.
I like it for the television show, but that doesn't.
Is the BS tier, or if you're at the bottom of the BS tier, that means you are the worst
of the worst or you're at the top
but like this is the most BS
that you can imagine. No, if we put
Genu at the top of the BS tier
the bottom of the
BAS here is where Rob and
company will go. Yeah, okay. Yeah, okay.
There's a reason for this one, which I like
the reason because I like it for the TV show. I think it
makes it more interesting. How about
somebody that we've never seen
on the television show Survivor?
We know her name, not her story.
We know a little bit about her story. It's Melissa
McNulty who quits in the
the pregame of Survivor Fiji.
Yeah.
She didn't want to go.
She wanted to do it.
She was done.
Yeah.
Every time there's a quit, people say online, I wish you would have just quit so the alternate could go.
Yeah, she quit before the season started.
It's better to have quit than to never, than to play didn't quit.
You know, she knows what she wants.
I'd say I'll put her, just put her in quit.
Yeah, she quit.
She didn't do anything more or less.
She quit.
We don't know anything about her or why.
We don't know why.
I think the rumor is panic attack, which shout out.
She's not in our group chat with panic attack people, but we can add her in.
You know, she's somebody that T-Bird had had on the list for a long time.
I don't know if T-Bird gave up on that one.
But she could just be anybody.
Like, you could get anybody on the call.
Say, hey, this is Melissa McNulty.
Yeah.
My sister could do that.
But maybe listen.
I would love to talk to her and she'd be like, you know what, Rob, I would have won.
I watched the season and I knew I could tell that these were people that I would have, I would have outsmarted them.
I would have identified Earl day one was he was going home.
I had it.
Yow Man was going to be the second person that I got rid of.
She was going to the end.
with Erica and Sylvia, B.
Yes, yes. I had it.
And
that, so I need that.
Yeah. Well, why don't we...
Well, I'll bump Tiber.
Let's see if T-Bird...
Were they in correspondence?
I don't know.
I think that...
So I have given T-Bird
hundreds of names for people
for talking about T-Bird,
and I'm sure she was on the list.
Well, I'll resurface that ask,
because I...
Or we'll look together,
because I'm curious also.
Yeah.
How about another...
another friend of Melissa McNulty or somebody that it's like a misconnection.
She could have been really great friends with.
Papa Smurf.
Popa Smurf.
Yeah.
This is legit.
Like, he had a lot of like medical issues, correct?
Yeah, he got bit by those ants.
He got bit by the ants.
And did he also get hurt in the challenge or am I conflating him with maybe Mikey B?
Mara Rossi?
Yeah.
Yeah. A different Mikey B.
But spiritually the same.
Yeah, but he had some kind of like allergic reaction to the ants.
Yes. Yeah, there's a clip of Papa Smurf doing the slip and slide challenge where he falls hard.
Yeah.
I don't think that resulted in injury.
But yeah, those ants, they took to him.
They were at Thanksgiving with him.
They really took to him.
Yeah.
And, yeah, I mean, you got to leave.
I'm going to say not as legit as Jenna or Sue.
But right now he's number three.
on
legit
it is interesting
why would they not
have just pulled him
outright
why do you think
I forget
why they gave him
the option
to stay
in the old days
like I do think
that it's
as the show
has gotten
like further into
its evolution
I think the show
has gotten smarter
I think that
they also
have gotten
more okay
the lawyers and the network and the insurance are like, okay,
here are the things that you need to pull people for.
Let's be safe.
Let's not make, you know, let's be on the right side of history on these things.
But back then they would be like rub some dirt on it.
Yeah.
Like unless you were going to the hospital, we're not pulling you.
Yeah.
And Gary said, hey, can we go to the hospital?
Is the hospital an option?
and they airlifted him out.
They said, see ya.
Did he leave on an airlift?
No.
Didn't he?
I think he left on a boat.
In my head, he's in a helicopter.
Did my Ferrisi leave on a helicopter?
I also don't think so.
They call him the chopper.
You can't say it's a quit and they take you around on a chopper.
Yeah, that'd be a cool way to leave.
You get to ride in like,
the, like a PT cruiser if you quit.
That's what they should do.
You got to ride in like the loser guy car.
They should have a car that's called like the loser mobile.
I guess they need like a loser boat, like a clown boat.
Yeah.
Yeah, there's hundreds of clowns.
Yeah, and they like,
and they honk the clown but like, okay, bring in the clown boat if you want,
as for your wishes.
I really like this.
I think we should send this to somebody.
The as per your wishes is interesting
We've gotten away from that also
My thought
And we'll get to it for
For our friend from season 51
But I do think if you're going to quit
And you're not medically needing to quit
In the moment you should quit at tribal council
You should leave where everybody else sleeps
You shouldn't leave in the middle of the day
I think it messes everything up
Yeah bring it to tribal council
No but I like that we then
Because that is
This was perfect of like
This past episode of like
Okay we had the
quit in the first 10 minutes and then we still had a normal episode.
Like, don't build the episode around the quit.
Yeah, I hear that.
You know, and I think that that is one of the advantages here in the open era where, like,
that we kind of have like overstuffed the cast and so that somebody can just walk away
and it's like no big thing.
Yeah, it's like Australian Survivor where they can just, you know, it's episode
eight, and you're like, who's that?
And you just hear from a new guy.
I think that's interesting.
Yeah.
How about our friend, your very good friend, Kathy Slackman from...
Kathy Schleckman.
Indonesia.
Yeah.
So I think that there was some issues with, like, her, she was, like, she was taking some kind of medication.
And then, like, went off at Cold Turkey.
That was bad, they say.
And then she, I think she said she, the story she tells us that she told production she was going to cut her finger off.
Yes.
To get her out of there.
So nothing was wrong with her per se.
So it seemed like that she made a bad decision coming in to not wean off of the medication,
but I'm not a doctor.
I don't need, you know.
Yeah.
But maybe she should.
I think the thing that we can be, you know, totally keep it 100 is,
she should have told the survivor production about her medical situation.
Yeah.
The quit tier to me seems like this is something you, you, it's on you a little bit,
as opposed to the legit things happen to you.
You know what I mean?
So she feels quit.
Yeah.
So, yeah, so it feels quit.
I think Austin, he actually had staff infections.
then Melissa McNagnes.
So I'd say that she's between Austin and Melissa McNulty.
That feels safe to me.
We have our double header from Survivor Nicaragua.
Nicaragua.
Nicaragua, I have erodicism.
We've got our ninth and eighth place.
Is that right?
It's Kelly Shin and Neonka.
Yeah.
As much as I would love to, you know,
Neonka,
She could have been an all-timer from a TV category,
but this is pretty hard BS, right?
Well, I think Nianca, perhaps,
Kelly does have no clothes.
And that is, I think, the same Austin Taylor issue
is that they did not give Kelly any clothes to wear
for the television show.
And that is, that feels like,
I mean, with the rubric I just said is like,
it's not anything that she chose.
Like, it feels legit.
Or is it?
I think that, I don't think it's great to say that Niyanka's quit was BS and Purple Kelly's quit was
I don't want to say that.
God, God, I don't remember, I don't remember why Nianca quit.
And I was hoping that you could, I didn't move the board.
She wasn't feeling it.
it had been raining and you know people want to quit when it rains the same thing with rob
so i'm gonna say they're both it's both BS um yeah neck had an idol me too
me too and i you know what i'm gonna put the Anka first in this galley's last
was it more BS than genu um couldn't they uncle have one i don't know like i think this is possible
uh she was right there at the end she had a lot of friends on the jury
What did, why did Nyanca, what is the reason?
What was the reason that she said?
I don't remember.
I, I'd have to go look it up.
I think that she just, um, it was, like, it had been, like, really lousy weather.
But, but is Kelly Shin not having clothes?
Is that canon in the show?
Again, it's been so long since I've seen Nicaragua.
You've watched it more recently than I have.
I want to say, I can, in my mind, I could see her with a jacket,
but I'm not sure she had somebody else's jacket at some point.
I think you're picturing Fabio's yellow, like, cool guy jacket.
What's that called?
I don't remember what that's called.
French coat?
No, definitely not that.
What's the name of the cool guy jacket that guys wear?
It's the members-only jacket.
Members-only jacket?
Yeah.
I'm going back to my evolution of strategy notes
to see if I have the reason why Niyanka quit.
But I don't know if that I had.
I don't remember.
Yes.
Naanka wants to say something.
She gave 110%.
This will be Naianca's, I guess, last tribal council.
Anybody else here want to quit?
Kelly is quitting, too.
Jeff tells Naanka that she doesn't seem like a quitter.
Yeah.
Purple Kelly's who are, you're going to walk away?
And she said, I can't believe I lasted this long.
Yeah, that sounds like bullshit to me.
Yeah.
Jeff said, I'm not good.
Jeff gives them the afternoon to think about it.
And then fine.
And then she went to go to the movies.
She went to Gulliver's Travels.
And then after Gulliver's Travels,
then she, Niyanka is going to quit and Purple Kelly is going to quit.
Yeah.
And I get that.
If I saw Gulliver's Trivals, I think I'd be done also.
They should have showed them like a more, a movie that's like, you, you know,
you pump yourself up.
Like, remember the Titans.
Like, I can do anything after this.
You know, I said there's a lot of people who are worse off who aren't playing Survivor, and we are.
Yeah, I guess that's true, right?
Yeah.
That's interesting.
She just didn't want to do it anymore.
I thought the Purple Kelly not having clothes was part of the show, which I think that that would make me feel different.
I don't think that it was talked about in the show.
I mean, there might be one of these things like the Austin staff infection after the fact.
Yeah, well, I'm glad to.
know that now, and
Nianca, I am sorry.
Yeah.
How about
this is, look who's in her suspenders.
It's Dana Lamber,
who quits after having a stomach
thing in the Philippines.
Yeah.
Hmm.
Purple Kelly, she did
win the award for
hottest female in the reality
awards category in August
of 2014, according to
2014? Yes.
Four years after the television?
Yes.
I don't know.
The reality awards is an annual award ceremony held on reality dash shows.
Dot EU.
So they did not penalize her.
The most coveted award in Hollywood,
that sounds like.
I wish I could see who else was nominated.
I said,
probably probably is also 21, you know.
Yeah, don't put 21-year-olds in Survivor.
That's what I always said.
Yes.
All right.
Do you want to know, no.
Is that, you want to know the other nominees?
I did find it.
The other nominees, no, let's leave it to history.
Who, who do you think won hottest male in 2014?
Hottest male of 2014?
Let's see.
So,
but here's the thing.
Survivor Nicaragua took place in 2010.
So I'm trying to figure out,
how she won the 2014
Right.
I'm just as shocked as you are.
Did you need to appear on a show?
Was it some other...
No, no, this is...
I mean, this person, the hottest male of 2014,
according to the reality awards of reality dash EU, whatever,
this is the person who was on Survivor
between 2010 and 2014.
Yeah, then I'm going to say,
Matt Elrod.
It's a phenomenal guess.
It's Malcolm.
Malcolm, okay.
But also, this is 2014.
Burton Roberts nominated for this award.
Okay, so this is an all-timer.
It's all-time.
All-timer.
Yeah.
Get back to the subject matter here.
All right.
Dana Lambert?
Yeah, to me, this is like when we start talking about, like, the non-quit quits that, like, are they actual, like, this is legit to me?
It's legit.
Is this more, is stomach thing more legit or less than fire ants?
It's more legit.
I mean, she looked like she could not continue in the game.
I think I'm not going to put anybody here ahead of Jenna Marasco or Sue Hawke, okay?
I'm not going to do that.
But put her ahead of Papa Smurf.
Sure, sure, sure, sure.
And that makes sense.
That makes sense.
Get Dana some medical attention.
And they got her some.
I wonder, again, they left that up for ambiguity also, where they didn't make
Dana say, like, I'd like to leave, which I guess is, that was just the era of the show back
that. Yeah, they were like, we don't really see anything wrong with you. So you have to say
that you're, that you want to go.
How about, and that was really a part of Denise's story of like, Denise got
swapped to the tribe that was like fully constituted calable.
And, yeah, Dana wouldn't have gone home. Like, Denise would have gone home instead of Dana.
Yeah, I mean, that's like, that's Survivor is, uh, it's a lot about luck and it's a lot about what you do with the luck.
But that is, uh, that's one of those things you can control. It just happens to you.
Yeah.
Um, this person, however, um, they, they just wanted to leave. They just wanted to get out of there.
It's a Colton of blood versus water fit. Which time?
The set. So it's interesting. Number one, not on anybody's lists. But really number one, to me is an, like, I think Jeff said that in what, a fit of rage at that.
at the Redemption Island Arena.
That wasn't acquit.
Right?
Well,
I think that they could not verify
what was going on.
And so I think it was technically acquit them.
But nobody at that point in time,
I don't think anybody was saying like,
oh, like, what a baby, Colton,
like is quitting the game.
But the second time was just a straight-up,
just, like, walked off.
Yeah. The second time to me is obviously behind Purple Kelly,
but what I do believe to be the worst quit in the history of the television show.
Yeah, it's definitely BS. I think it's the question of where do we put it on BS?
But I think that there's no, you can, like, Naanka and Purple Kelly make it two thirds of the way in.
Like, Colton's, he's day five.
You think it's less BS?
it's more BS.
This is the worst of them all of the quits.
It's day five and he's just not having fun.
So he left.
Well, yeah, he's sort of like, things are going against him.
He's being, like, called out for his BS.
Yeah.
Tyson has a really good confessional.
Yeah.
This episode where he says about Rachel.
I guess Survivor's supposed to be fun.
So I hope she had fun.
And a good person, a good example of somebody who's not having fun.
It's cool.
Yeah.
I'm trying to find the back and forth.
Colton doesn't want to be here anymore.
He's quitting again.
Jeff calls out Colton.
Admittedly, a selfish move.
Maybe it's the best one for me, said Colton.
And then Jeff says,
the first time you feigned an appendicitis.
When his back is against the wall,
this is who he turned into.
Colton knows he can't win.
Is that how it goes if things don't go away?
What does he say to that?
Yes?
You know,
sometimes my short hand is not like, you know,
I, like, you know,
when I am doing a podcast about it,
like a day after I watch it,
I know what they actually said.
And I'm just jogging my memory.
You don't remember an episode
from this week of 2013?
Yeah.
And so, yeah,
the Colton one is BS.
And you know what?
It's also like with Neonka and Purple Kelly,
there was like,
The weather was bad.
I think the weather was lovely,
if I can recall this.
He looked like a vacation.
He was at sandals in Jamaica.
Look nice.
Yeah, this is a tough one.
It's hard to picture any defense for this, for this quick.
This might be the worst one in Survivor history.
I believe it is.
I believe it is.
Okay.
I mean, there's debate whether, again, our friend,
a different rod that we know is maybe worse than us.
Well, we'll see. We'll get there.
Stay tuned.
How about, well, you know what?
this one is interesting.
Lindsay Ogle of Survivor Cagayan leaves in the middle of the night as she fears she's going to hit Trish.
Hmm.
That's the story, right?
Yeah.
She did not like Trish and called her names.
She loved Cliff Robinson, the late great Cliff Robinson.
Didn't we all?
And then they blindside Cliff and Wu was really, his mouth was wide open.
and then Tony gets like a two for one
because then also Lindsay ends up leaving.
She was so angry with Trish.
So, I mean, I guess it's BS, but did we care?
Nobody care.
I mean, I guess they cared the production of the show.
But I don't, I think this is bullshit.
And I, like, at this point, like, don't you just want to leave?
Is I think I'm going to get violent an excuse for I'm just kind of done now?
Yeah, I'm, I'm...
So I feel like that at least Junu, there was like an ending to the story.
This was just sort of like, we yada yotted it.
So I'll say it's BS, but not as bad as Nayaanka and Purple Kelly.
Or is it worse?
I was...
I think it's worse.
I think this is before Colton.
I think this is just the I want to quit and I don't have a reason.
I just have no feeling.
about this. So it's hard for me to
feel like it's the second worst
in the history of the show, but
I'll, sure, let's go with it.
Right, I mean,
like they had reasons.
Like, what's the reason?
And does Lindsay quit if
Cliff does not leave that night? Is Lindsay
there for a while longer? No, she was good, they loves Cliff.
Yeah, and again, didn't we all.
All right. Here's another one.
Not great.
Julie McGee
quits Survivor
Yeah, she didn't want John Rocker to go off on the pre-jury trip without her.
So this really is some BS.
Yeah, I mean, is it a legit reason?
Certainly.
We've all been there.
But I think that it's a, yeah, this is a pretty tough one.
This might be worse than the Lindsay one.
This is worse than the Lindsay.
Yeah, I mean, it's a, is no reason worse than a bad reason?
Maybe.
Lindsay quits for no reason.
This is a very sad reason.
At least the reason I might physically hurt Trish.
Okay, I'll give you that more than I need to be you with John Rocker.
I don't want John Rocker to go on the pre-jury trip.
I'm worried he's going to be hanging out with Nadia and...
Val?
Kelly Wentworth?
Kelly Wentworth.
Dale?
Dale?
I don't trust him
I need to keep an eye
You need to keep an eye on him
Listen
When you got something that good
You don't want to like a player
F around
Yeah you gotta
If you find your loved ones
You gotta hold them tight
I don't uh
I think maybe it was Kelly Wentworth
Who said this somewhere
That's like they just argued
The whole time on the trip
John and Julie
And even if she didn't say that
I think we could infer it
Yeah they're not together anymore
How long did they make it after this?
I don't know
a couple of years,
but,
you know,
they've gone
their separate ways.
But it's one of these
instances of
of Julie McGee,
if you love something,
let it go.
If it comes back to you,
it's meant to be forever.
Yeah,
that's true.
If it's,
if it's meant to be,
let it be.
It's a song by
BB Rexa
and I think Florida
Georgia line.
Famously.
Speaking of the Mason Dixon line,
here's somebody
from Dave versus Goliath.
It's B-W-W-W-W-W-W-W.
So she had something,
something in her knee, she was a
MMA fighter. She's still an
MMA fighter? That's really the test of where she goes
in this, because if she is now the best in the world,
it was worth quitting for. Yes. They call her the killer B.
Pretty good. That's what they call me. When I do News A.F. occasionally.
Yeah. And
she, I mean, she's killing it on Instagram. She's got over 200
followers.
200?000? Over 200,000.
I was going to say.
Then I'm killing him on Instagram.
They refer to her as undefeated boxer.
Is what it says in her bio.
Well, then I think this is legit.
If she's undefeated, she could have lost if she stayed in a couple more rounds.
Yes.
One of her recent posts, though, on Instagram is daydreaming about rice while stranded on an island during a cyclone.
That's only like, it's not that far back on her Instagram.
So she doesn't use Instagram?
I guess she doesn't post that much.
Yeah.
How many weeks?
That's three years-ish?
177 weeks?
Three and a half years?
I guess so.
Post-COVID?
Yeah.
That's interesting.
Well, bring her back.
All right.
I think this is better than Dana's quip.
I think this is right behind Sue.
Right behind Sue?
Oh, you think it's the top of, like,
like, I think she could have,
she didn't want to worsen her
you know she could have like sat out of challenges
I don't know to me
I don't think that this is like
I wouldn't put this in legit
I know she could kick my ass
but to me I feel like
she might
like between like Austin and Kathy Selectman
oh that's it
I'm thinking that she had a medical thing
and then she didn't want to worsen her career
and now she is excelling at the career
so I feel like this is a medical thing where
that like she's playing in
this she wasn't on surveillance
She was on Survivor 37.
Like, we have reached a point where, you know,
she's in a, you know, 20-person season.
I think if there was real damage there,
like that was, like, noticeable.
Medical would have pulled her.
Yeah, I, listen, I concede.
Above, above Austin?
I think she's below Austin.
I think, I don't know.
I'm stuck on that she has a career
that she now, she preserved.
Austin didn't have a,
Austin didn't have to leave
because he couldn't be a lawyer
for the staff infection.
I guess so.
I'm going, listen,
I think about,
I'm going to boss.
So every athlete that goes on Survivor
if they feel like the first, like,
twinge of something should quit?
I think, but they have to be a really good athlete
afterward. If you told me
that B. Wynn was a
defeated fighter, then I would say,
put her under Colton.
Yeah.
Yeah, I'll go here.
I concede.
I concede.
B stated her injury
may have been a factor
in her loss
in her first MMA match
following her appearance
on Survivor held
July 21st,
2018,
only two months after filming.
She said,
it took three and a half months
for her injury to heal.
That's about what Rob said
his is at right now.
Yeah.
All right,
we'll put her where
you think that she belongs.
But justice for B.
Win.
Let me,
I'm,
I'm going to be Win Train
Yeah
Here's somebody who
I didn't have a good transition
He climbed up that rock
And kind of did it to himself
Yeah
Matthew Brin said Maley
Yeah
Now I think his injury
Was super legit
But the fact that he climbed the rock
For no reason
was BS
Yeah
Yeah I'm pretty low
This one
I think that sucks
I think that's such a
You know
I think I debated Steve
Even like, I was like, why did they let him climb the rock?
And he was like, what?
You have to let people do things.
So, I would say, get it down from there.
Yeah, there's no reason to have climbed that.
Why do you doing that?
You have one job to not to get hurt and be on this show.
Yeah, and it was so, like, all of the, all of his confessionals were so good.
Mm-hmm.
He was very nice.
I met him in person, but I do think that this is, this is bullshit.
I think he, he, again, the quit tier.
that I assess was like this is something that you did to you in a different way.
But you know what else is BS though?
And about this is that I believe, so this happens in, I think it's episode five of Survivor
44 and that there is a point where, okay, Josh Wilder has been swapped to the tribe with
Jam Jam and Carolyn.
And then that Jam Jam, Jam and Carolyn have completely figured.
figured out, okay, that Josh Wilder made up that he had an idol, and it's the beads from
Tremel, and they're like laughing. And then we see Matthew after the challenge, and Jeff's like,
hey, Matthew, stick around, medical's going to take a look at you. And then the next thing we see
is Jeff show up at the tribe with Carolyn and Jam Jam and Josh Wilder. He's like, hey,
just so you know, Matthew, he quit. Medical didn't pull him. We don't even see when he
walked away from the show.
So, and it always
had seemed like that there was,
maybe he was not on the same page
as production.
Who wasn't? Matthew or Jeff?
Or at least in the vacuum of
information, I think Matthew
has sort of, I felt like has sort of implied, like
I think this was worse than
like, I don't know if Matthew, if Matthew,
I don't remember if Matthew's take was like,
no, they should have pulled me.
Yeah, I mean, he was in a, what, a sling for like most of the game, no?
Like, I think that that concept was.
I remember him talking about how painful it was, we needed to have surgery, but they did not, they did not pull.
And again, this is the modern era of Survivor where they're ultra cautious.
Yeah.
Is this to you?
Is this the end of quit or the beginning of the BS tier?
The people that nobody in the BS tier should have an actual injury.
I hear that
But it's an injury that he did himself
He did do it himself
But I think that like
He gave himself the injury
Right
But if I accidentally like
Drop an anvil on my head
Like I still have to go to the hospital
Like
Sure but why would you pick
You wouldn't pick the handle
Sure and I could be a dummy for picking up an anvil
Or trying to
You know move a couch down the stairs by myself
but, which I did do the other day.
But I think that he's, I think it was like a legit quit.
Like, let's see.
In the actual quit tier, we have Austin B, Kathy Slackman, and Melissa McDonulty.
I think this is, to me, I think he's even like,
I might have him at the top of the quit.
The top of quit?
he had like an actual injuries in a lot of pain
but the other two the other two had that
I guess we don't see awesome
like B's injury
B's injury was
I think was like hey I think I feel something I don't want it to get worse
Austin you know
um
had a sickness that was not really explored on the show
sure
yeah I feel like I'm getting mocked
Why? I see the
By me? I'm out voting you?
You're not out voting me, but I do
I think I'm sticking up for B. I'm the biggest
B-Win fan. I had no idea.
But I see the-
Why do you care so much about B-N-A-W-N-Win?
What's good for you?
He's a world athlete.
Are you afraid, blink,
do you know her? Is she a friend in real life?
Jimmy Kimmel's going to be so pissed at me
if I disparage another friend of his.
Touched Gabby and ask him.
or if Bina Wynne? How serious was Bina Wins injury?
All right. I will do that right now.
I can do it for my laptop. I have that. I have a laptop that can do that.
How serious is bad podcasting was B. Nguyen injury.
Is it a legit quit? I'm going to read this on the podcast.
You got to, if you're going to check somebody.
That's the podcast or code.
Yeah, you got to tell them.
All right. Yeah.
So I'm just looking up Matthew.
So this is Matthew Greenstead male.
He says he has no memory of his scary fall.
And I'm looking at Dalton Ross's interview.
Did the pain get progressively worse over the nine days?
Or did you tweak it again at some point?
He said after the initial fall on day two,
the extent at that point was I had just dislocated in my shoulder.
It was feeling a little loose,
but that's why you could see me in and out of the sling.
and then
they asked him
in the third episode
we're digging in the sand
you hear me say
ow guys my shoulder
my shoulder had popped
out of the socket
again during the challenge
so I gripped my arm
and put it back in the socket
and the challenges
climbed underneath the wooden log
and then Kane
helped me complete the challenge
yeah
and that's why we love Kane
but I again
I think that's a
It's so self-inflit.
But I'm getting in the weeds
and the self-infliction of it.
But I do see the logic.
Yeah.
Okay.
If only we were going to talk to
Josh Wilder at any point soon.
We could ask him.
About the foot injuries?
We could do that too.
That's a great idea.
Yeah.
So I don't know.
Where would you put Matthew?
I don't...
You have talked me into putting it
on this tier, I think this is high.
I think he's, I think he's here.
Yeah.
What do you think the comments are going to be like for this?
I feel like we're getting roasted, but I'm not sure exactly for what yet.
Yeah, I think people are, people stop watching after my Nianca thing.
They're going to be so mad at me.
I've lost all the goodwill that I've built since October 2020.
Yeah.
This is from Mike Bloom's interview with Matthew.
And he asked him about, from your, Mike Bloom asked, from our perspective,
We saw you chat, you chat with Jeff and Dr. Will right after the challenge,
and then we don't see you again after you left the game.
Did you have to make a decision right there after the medical examination
and whether or not yet to leave?
And he said, I had to make a decision right then and there.
And we went through a medical examination, which they didn't really,
I don't know why he has to make a decision right there.
He's like, if he quits tomorrow, like, what is it?
It's like, hey, you quit now or...
You're staying.
When we went through the medical examination, which they didn't really show,
I could not raise my arm more than in my shoulder level.
They were very generous in showing my journey,
but they don't show the extensiveness of my injuries.
Obviously, it dislocated my shoulder on day two,
and I was getting better, but I wasn't listening to the doctor's orders.
So you saw me in the third episode in the challenge,
crying about my shoulder.
It dislocated during the challenge.
And then I put it back in the socket,
and then helped Kane finish the challenge,
not knowing I had severely damaged my shoulder.
In that time frame, that last injury,
I fractured my humorous.
A piece of that broke off and had to be
removed. I fractured my scalpela, which had to be reattached. I tore my rotator cuff. I tore my labrum,
which is the lining of your shoulder. I shifted the cartilage within the joint. And my
sub-sus muscle had to be reattached. So the amount of pain that I was in. So I wonder if there's like
a reading between the lines of like, you know, you had like Jam, Jam and Carolyn, and this is like
a good story. I don't think they know necessarily what's going to happen with Josh
Wilder.
Like, they don't know necessarily that
Jam Jam and Carolyn are going to
figure out that he has,
he made a fake idol.
And then they're like, look, look,
this guy's not going to make it 26 days.
It's like, just like, let's, let's, come on.
Yeah.
You're not going to, let's be honest here.
Well, what people said in exit press
during season 50 also is that Colby's injury
on his, what, toe was bad enough
to where there was suspect that they were going to pull him
if they didn't vote him out.
So maybe it's the same kind of thing.
Yeah, and it sounds like he didn't.
listen to the doctor's advice
that they gave him early on.
So I think he did have
I think he did have
like legit injuries here.
And maybe he could have
made it a little bit further, but I don't think he
was making it to date 26.
No, I don't think so.
I think we have him in the perfect spot.
Okay.
I can't believe he's behind Bina Wynn.
Leave it. Leave it. Leave it. Leave it.
I'm going to buy a Binaw in Jersey.
Leave it.
Okay.
How about here's somebody that I also ride for.
Maybe not as hard as Bean.
It's Hannah Rose, my dear friend.
Okay.
This is bullshit.
But, I mean, you were there.
You tell me.
I understand why it would be put on that tier, certainly.
But I do think it is, how is it in any way?
I guess it's different because it happened three days in as opposed to,
like, to lose, what, 21 or 24?
is at the top of BS.
I think it's perfect, like, the bookends for her and Melissa McNulty.
Of, like, one decided to quit before the game started, the other decided to quit right
when the bell started.
But I have always said about the Hannah-Rove's quit, that I think it was like the quit.
I did not mind.
I thought it was perfect.
I thought it was such a great illustration to the people at home that she came into
the show and she was like, oh, I did not know it was this.
hard. I did not know it was like this. Okay. I'm actually going to leave. I did.
This was not what I thought it was. I have to be. I have to be honest.
Well, and people get so like you, you know, it is hard. It's a hard. She said famously we can do
hard thing. She's the episode title. But like it's better for the show. Yeah.
Advertise that it is hard. Survivor's real. It's happening. And I am leaving. This is not what I want.
And so I'm good.
Yeah.
I came, I checked it out.
I saw it's not for me.
God bless.
Good night.
And I love that.
And I feel like that she didn't get, like the thing about a quit that is frustrating,
it's like when we have gotten very far into the game and then you quit.
It's like, what the why?
You ruined the game for everybody.
She didn't ruin anything.
If anything, she gave Emily Flippin a second life.
She gave Emily Flippen doesn't make it.
to survive for 50 if it's not for Hannah Rose.
Yeah.
And nobody wants to hear me say it, but I did lose a number one ally in Hannah Rose.
And I think the only person that really hurt was your boy.
But I'm here now.
And I'm doing everything worked out so great for me.
Right.
If I'm not upset about it, you shouldn't be either.
And that's why Hannah Rose, I think, is in the perfect spot.
Okay.
Sean Edwards.
Yeah, okay.
It's going to be a little bit less.
But I don't think, I don't think much less.
Now, right?
Okay, so this is interesting because that, I feel like that canonically, this is not a quit.
It's, so, it's great.
I'm thrilled the U.S.
Yes.
Is that it's not in the 60?
You also, you do not have Johnny Fairplay from Survivor Micronesia here, which Jeff would call a quit,
but canonically was a person voted out.
Where did you put Johnny Fairplay on this list?
I think he's...
Because Johnny Piffway has an injury.
Yeah.
He goes out first, so I feel like that he's sort of like in the like Hannah Rose, Melissa
McNulty category.
The guy was waited for years to come back.
He has his opportunity and only but like two weeks beforehand gets back body dropped by
Danny Bonaducci.
And it's like, well, I can't not go.
I have to go give this the time.
You're doing the thing.
And so, I feel like maybe it's, I put him like at the end of quit.
Yeah, I think he takes the, I think he's behind Melissa McNulty.
And I don't know, like, in the articles about the quits, Johnny Fairplay is not in any of them.
But Sean is.
Sean is not an official survivor quitter, but Sean is in the article.
Why do you think that is?
Why has Sean been retcon, the official.
quit, but Johnny Fairplay is not.
Well, I think, I do have
a legitimate answer for this. I think that
Hannah and Sean both quitting
twice in the four weeks of the
survivor. I think that hurts both
of them reputational. I think
that they are grouped together much like
Purple Kelly and Aonka. Yeah.
Are grouped together. I think that would be
my only reason. Do you have a better reason?
No. I think that...
Jeff made a real point about
this when it happened also. Yes. Yes.
That also. Okay.
And this move, I think, is, is it a better reason than Lindsay?
I think so.
Lindsey Ogle?
What is his reasoning, Ann?
His reason seems to be the same as Janu.
It's the same as Janu, but he's not really giving up his spot for somebody,
which I like canonically for the TV show.
In a way, he's giving a spot up for Sefu,
because Sefu is going to be the person voted out that night.
But it's not for that.
Whereas Hannah's and Janu's was for that.
I feel like it's less of a tangible reason that I like.
But I think before, I think like the Lindsay, Julie Colton,
Holy Trinity of like, what are we doing here?
I don't think that Sean's in that.
I think Sean's right before that.
Yeah, to me, I feel like that maybe is he in between Junu and Purple Kelly?
I said, Junu and Nayaka.
I like that better.
I was selling low, but I think that's something.
Why before Genu?
Or not before Genu.
You're putting him right after Genu.
Right behind Genu.
Right before, yes, right behind Janu.
Yeah, I like that.
Mm-hmm.
I think just bottom three are pre-locked.
I think that Genu could kind of see.
Like, Junu was like, I hate these people.
I don't like them.
I'm not going to win.
What does it matter?
I'm getting, if I'm not getting voted out tonight,
I'm getting voted out in three days.
Like, I'm coming.
I'm feeling good.
I went to Exile Island.
I feel good at the end of my story.
Just like, like, I don't care.
I'm leaving.
Let me out.
Yeah, I agree.
Did Sean feel like, hey, you know, I lost my allies from Lulu,
and so, like, I don't have a shot here.
I think also, and people don't, like, quantify this,
talking about how hard survivor is.
I think Sean won one reward challenge, which is the day after I leave.
But he's there for 12 days, just loss after loss after blindside,
after Hannah leaves, and Sean did won Hannah to leave.
Like, I think that...
He didn't feel like a Sabaya went home, so what chance do I have?
No, but I think that the Sabaya, like, being blindsided, I think added, like, a little bit of, like, insult to injury.
I think people underestimate.
Seldom have there been people in Survivor history who go that long without any...
I mean, Stephanie LaGrosa, right?
And Bobby John go that long without a win.
Not a B-win.
But I think Sean just didn't...
He was just uninterested.
But that is, like, the ethos of...
Stephanie of like the thing behind her popularity was like, I will never quit, I will never say die.
And that was like, Genu served as a way to prop up, Stephanie.
I don't feel like, I mean, I guess a little bit from the edit of the show of like, look at this person who's quitting, who's walking away.
Stephanie would never quit.
Yeah.
And I remember, I can't remember if it's the Sean episode of right after.
I know like Jake and Dee both get backstories about why they're there, which I think.
think it was like contrasted with somebody who wanted to leave or I guess multiple people that
wanted to leave that I felt like was done with intention.
So I think it served a story purpose element, but I think that I think this is in a great
in a great spot.
Okay.
All right.
We've got one more.
We got one more.
Here he is the man of the hour.
Yeah.
All right.
Where is this on the scale of survivor quits?
Well, and I'm so glad we're ending with him.
Yes.
Because, and I want you to tell me, is it worse than Colton or better than, I think it's bottom two, if not bottom one?
Is this the worse than Colton?
I would say, to me, the thing is that Colton came in already.
They already hated him.
And, hmm.
What I will say on the pro-rob front is, well, I guess I can't even say that.
I was going to say he does he?
I don't know that he does.
You know what?
Yeah.
So I would say, you know what, if this was Colton 1.0, I'd say that Rob is worse.
But Colton, of course.
Colton 2.0
to me
was like at least
a doctor looked
at Rob.
Like at least Rob has the decency
to say like
I would never quit.
I would never quit and I have an injury
and he should say I have an MMA fight coming up
and I really I can't risk making this any worse
and Brandon Donlin would say
like, oh, this is legit.
Legit.
Legit.
And he doesn't have to be, I have to, like, hey, I have a family.
I have to think about my health.
And so.
Is it worse to say that and lie?
Or, like, Colton is true.
He just doesn't like it.
Is it a lie if you believe it?
That's my favorite sign fuck quote.
Is it a lie if you believe it?
Does Rob believe?
I don't think Rob believes it.
I think Rob knows he lie.
Things would make a lot more sense if he believed a lie.
I think, and this is the right, I voice messages to you the other day, but there was a guy on the eighth season of Hell's Kitchen named Raj, R-A-J, and everybody on in the real time and on the message boards, I was very into Hell's Kitchen for a minute.
Everybody thought he was a production plant because he was so, like, so horrible at every day.
He was like rage-baiting everybody before rage-baiting was cool. He was, he was so bad at every conceivable task and so hard to be around that everybody thought, surely this is not a real guy. It's a production hack.
And I think Rob is the first person on Survivor
who's ever felt like that.
Like even Rome had like,
there are things about him that I can point to.
Like, okay.
Interesting.
But like there's nothing good here.
But he was,
I will say he was cooking for an episode.
You know,
that he,
in that premiere episode,
you know, Puyah got him last in the draft.
Like, oh, maybe this was,
Puyah got a steal, I think,
with the 18th pick in the draft
before it all,
the wheels fell off.
So,
I would say that
I think that this is
not as bad as Colton just quitting
and Colton's loved one
was in the game still
like you would think hey I'll stick it out
like this is blood versus water
I could be a number for
my loved one
yeah I agree
I really I think it's an interesting
interesting debate whether it's
do we like Rob's lie
or Colton's weaponized honesty more in this situation.
He had...
Colton had radical honesty.
He did.
He did.
He invented that.
And so I will say that for this reason,
I think that, like, hmm.
Like, Colton knew he was going to get voted out next.
He did not want to give the satisfaction to the people who wanted to vote him out.
Instead, he said, you know what?
I just don't want to be here.
here anymore. Rob was not going to get voted out.
Try to vote himself. He went out of his way to try to vote himself out.
And then, again, he would, he had an idol. He would not have been voted out on the next,
the next tribal council. So, I think you're talking me into that this is, that's worse.
Worse. I think that's a worse squid. Because he had, he had, he had headway.
Colton was going to leave. Like Rob was. But Colton said, I'm going to just take my ball and go home.
Rob to me was like one step towards Hannah Rose of like,
I can't do this.
This is not what I signed up for.
Whereas Colton could do it.
He's there for a second time.
And he's like,
yeah, he's like, hey, things are not going my way.
I'm taking, I'm just leaving because I don't want you to have the satisfaction of voting me out.
Yeah, I see it.
I like it.
So from a sportsmanship, I feel like that Colton is worse.
And Rob, I think, I'll say I think it's the second worst.
Yeah.
I went into this thinking that Colton was the worst.
And then I almost talked myself out of it, but I agree.
Yeah.
I mean, we're not, look, RHAP is not a monolith, okay?
Right?
That we don't have to agree on everything.
But we don't.
Yeah.
and we don't, but I think this is a phenomenal
ear list to yourself TVA.
But at the end of the day, yeah, I did throw my weight around here.
But look, when people screenshot this,
like the R is going to say,
they're going to say R-H-A-P says, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah.
Yeah.
Nothing we're saying is anything.
That was a Hannah Rose quote.
It doesn't matter who it was said about.
Nothing we're saying is anything.
Oh, somebody was talking an awful lot.
And then she whispered to me,
nothing they're saying is anything.
Meaning it's all, it's just noise.
This food for thought.
If you have your own tier list,
we'd love to read it in the comments.
Yeah, we're not, don't take our word.
We don't know anything about this show.
We're just a couple guys who've seen it.
Yeah.
But I think we did a great job.
And I endorse none of it.
Good job by us.
Okay.
All right.
Here, let's put up the full list here.
Just one more time to reset.
The legit, okay?
The legit quits were Jenna Maraska, Sue Hawke,
Dana Lambert, and Papa Smurf.
That was legit, okay?
Then we have the quit tier.
And I like the pyramid structure here, okay?
The quit tier is Austin,
Brandon's beloved B-Nuin,
Matthew from Survivor 44,
Kathy Slackman and Melissa McNulty.
And then the BS tier is in, from left to right,
Hannah Rose, Janu, Sean Edwards, Nianca,
then Purple Kelly, Lindsay Ogle,
Julie McGee, Julie McGee,
Rhode Island Rob and Colton.
The most BS of all the quitters.
Yeah. And hard, if it was ever going to be topped, it would have been last week and it's not topped.
Yeah. Colton probably has that spot. Your mileage may vary. We'd love to know what you have to say about this.
Of course. Yeah, please. You all. Unless it's not kind, in which case, don't, I don't want to hear it.
I mean, I guess I do. I want feedback. I can handle the constructive argument.
Of course. No, I want that. I think if it's like, hey, you suck.
Jimmy Kimmel was right.
Jimmy Kimmel was right.
You're a Timu, this person.
Yeah.
Kevin Smith?
Who knows who that is?
I do, but I don't think a lot of people do.
A lot of people text me and said, who is that?
I said, you have to Google him.
It's too long for me to explain.
But I think this list is great.
I think we cooked.
Yeah.
Did you all like this?
Should we do more stuff like this?
We're always looking forward in the back half of the Survivor Week,
fun stuff to do. And so if you like these types of antics, let us know. And tell us,
what else can we be doing in this type of space at the back half of the Survivor Week?
Brandon, what else is going on for you? Not a ton. I recently passed the milestone of 10,000
Instagram followers. Or normally I would promote my own Instagram. Congratulations. If you want to follow
a friend of mine, her Instagram is, I'll spell it. It's K-I-L-L-E-R.
B-E-E-M-A.
You can go ahead and follow my friend.
Yeah.
But I have nothing to promote.
Did Gabby ever respond to you?
She did not.
Gabby noted.
It blocked you.
Oh, she did.
She did.
I wish I could screenshot.
I screenshot it.
She said,
meh.
M-E-H.
Fuck.
We got to record this again.
We can't do this again.
Let's check the record on this.
Check the record.
Okay.
All right.
Thank you so much for joining us.
We'll be in D.C. this week, but I will have a special know-it-alls for you with Omer's here.
And we're going to do that one in person.
So look, I got the bug of doing these podcasts in person when I was in L.A. a couple of weeks ago.
And so Omer and I are going to record a Survivor No-It-alls for you.
And then we'll have a live show for you of our big event coming up in D.C.
And then also we will have the full-on Ramble Battle Royale
where we will have a plethora of reality stars
competing in a Survivor-style game.
You'll want to check that out on the Ramble app.
Take care, everybody.
Have a good one.
Bye.
