The Baby Boys have assembled and I'm super excited to be back when Deezy, winner of Ghost Island and first merged boot of Win at war when DZ was popping. I was just the first bird the first boot I wasn't the first merge boot but I'll take it. It's good to see you were the first boot. I thought that you know what, I was just the merge boot, not the first boot.
Starting point is 00:04:03 The first merge boot is your title. We'll take that. Good to see you. We've got Jackery Atkins from the circle season two was popping. It's good to be here excited to start another season. So very, very stoked. Wendy Z I'm not excited for this guest.

So I'm going to let on to you to introduce the guests cause I don't wanna start the podcast off with no smoke. So I'm gonna let you handle this one for me. All right, ladies and gentlemen, we would like to welcome to the podcast. Very good friend of mine, Bryce Isaiah. I don't know if he's such good friends of his. The one and only one of the leaders of the new school, one of the leaders of the new school, one of the leaders
Starting point is 00:04:47 of the new era, one of the sharpest players to ever come out of the new era, real estate, mogul, aces pop, football playing, billiards playing, started growing out his little yummy hair on top, Billiards playing, started growing out his little yummy hair on top, I'm fresh. The one and only Q Quittavius Burnett is in the building! Yeah, yeah, I'm here. And you get the smartest thing you could do. You got in the passenger seat, it's what you used to do. And you got somebody else to chop the intro.
Starting point is 00:05:24 Listen, Q, I'm not about to argue, okay, you know what? what you used to do. And you let somebody else drop your intro. Listen Q, I'm not about to argue. Okay, you know what? We're going to settle this debate real quick. Show your driver's license. Just show the back of it. Not the front, just show the back. Okay, driver's license. We can't say permit.
Starting point is 00:05:40 For whatever reason, Q don't think I know how to drive, but it doesn't matter, because we're out here driving survivor news. We're back, it's a new season. You know, with the new season comes a new BWP tour, 48. We kicked it off last night in New York City, which was absolutely epic.
Starting point is 00:06:00 We had a crowd of a million and one people, good vibes, good energy. Wendy, what would you say about last night's event? Oh, man, it was how you should kick off a tour, you know, like we back. It was New York was lit. They were in there having a good time. It was great to see everybody. We had an international crowd, Bryce Isaiah.
Starting point is 00:06:25 That's right. Yes, we did. A couple special guests from across the globe. Amanda from Survivor South Africa Season 2. Jack, you know Amanda. Nope. We had Kevin Jacobs from Big Brother Canada in the building. And we had a bunch of reality.
Starting point is 00:06:43 And what was really dope, Bryce, it's a survivor event. And I'll let you speak to this a little more. But our good friend Bryce has really been bridging the gap with other shows and amazing race premieres next week. And man, there were so many amazing race folks in the building. It was great to see. Yeah, it was definitely dope. It almost felt like an amazing race premiere.
Starting point is 00:07:05 We had three new castaways or contestants on Amazing Race Season 37 that airs next week. So make sure you tune in. But yeah, we had Squid Game, Survivor, Big Brother. It definitely was dope. And if you missed our New York premiere, no worries. We are headed to the West Coast next week. We'll be in Los Angeles March 5th. We'll be in Los Angeles March 5th.
Starting point is 00:07:26 We'll be in San Francisco March 12th. Tickets are available. You can go to BryceandWin.com and get your tickets and we'll see you at the next stop. Hugh, I heard you were, I saw you were in Milwaukee. You were at Andrea. I saw my guy, Sam. I saw Ben. how was that?
Starting point is 00:07:46 It was amazing. The crowd was awesome. Let me just tell you, Andrea, she knows how to put on an event. She knows how to entertain, bring everybody together in one place and just keep them there. And it was amazing, man. They had the taco truck,
Starting point is 00:08:02 they had some burger spot outside serving it up, drinks on the inside. I don't drink but I had enough water for me, I had enough tacos for me, so I was good. Now let's talk about just the lineup that she brought. She brought the winner of 47, Rachel. She brought the most popular, in my opinion, Genevieve, who would have won if she didn't get voted out. And she brought Sam, the one vote receiver at the end of their episode, but he was also popular. And she brought Genevieve.
Starting point is 00:08:36 The one vote receiver? Why you gotta do it like that? Hey man, we had a little rap battle last night. Y'all gotta check that out. Oh. We had Sam. I'm talking about Brooklyn style. I'm talking about Brooklyn style. I'm talking about city style on the streets,
Starting point is 00:08:47 back and forth, boy from far, jail for jail. Yeah. We had a jail. We had a jail. Yeah. Who won the rap battle, Q?
Starting point is 00:08:57 But you know what? But then he had Ben. He was rocking out, playing that loud ass guitar. Had to go in the back for that. Then they brought the boy Q out. And I had the Q skirt on. We had folks in the building with the Q skirt on. I came out throwing money out my pocket.
Starting point is 00:09:13 Ugh, ugh, making it rain. Yeah. Okay. Okay, the Q skirt on. Take that. You see what's happening? The Ringo's in his Q skirt. It's a movement, it's a movement.
Starting point is 00:09:26 You know I keep it on me. But the Rindo's amazing, man. We had an awesome time, awesome crowd. And then we did a panel, so I loved it. It looked dope. I wanna say, it was like 9.45, seven o'clock. I get a phone call, Q, Q says I never pick up. I pick up, mind you, Q's in mid conversation.
Starting point is 00:09:47 So Q calls me and I gotta wait for Q. I pick up, Q's like, Bryce, what's up? Q says, coming to Chicago, click. You know you coulda text that, right Q? Yeah, but you know how I get. When I'm on the phone in the car, I put it on speaker. And it still might have to tell you immediately. The first thing I'm gonna do is FaceTime you first, then call you,
Starting point is 00:10:14 then send you a nasty text like, I bet. You answer the FaceTime, no other call. I know you ain't driving, so you need to be asking me that too. I'm dead. Okay. I know you ain't driving, so you need to be asking for one too. I'm dead. Okay. Well, that was Q's event in Milwaukee. Jack, I heard you was at LA getting it popping and shaking.
Starting point is 00:10:33 What was your event like in LA? Yeah, there was a couple of cast members from the season that hosted a little watch party. I don't know if I'm supposed to specify. Uh so I'm I'm gonna I'm gonna leave that out but we had some other alumni a few forty-sixers. I'm talking Tiff. I'm talking Jack. So I'm talking and I'm talking the man, the myth, the legend, Jalinski. Uh you had all the stars for forty-six. Jack. Hey, let me just say one thing forty-six gonna do. We gonna show up, alright? We gonna show up, all right?
Starting point is 00:11:05 We gonna show up. We gonna make an appearance now. I'm not sure if you had any 46s in New York. I think you did. But just think about it. 46 was on the West Coast. 46 was in the East Coast. 46 was in the Midwest.
Starting point is 00:11:22 You know how they do, man. We the best. They might not always talk to each other, but they show up. Surprise! You're still here? Do y'all have people in Canada too? For sure.
Starting point is 00:11:36 The one and only Venus. You know? Are y'all beefing her? And look, and she ain't no fish either. She ain't on the menu. Okay. Hey Q, I got a question. What?
Starting point is 00:11:50 What I have on my head? You know what you got on your head. It gon' come to him. Just tell him to sit there and wait. Here it comes to you. He got the cute dad. And I got the cute cut. Oh.
Starting point is 00:12:00 Crispy, on the top with a little frizz. That's what they call it around here. It look like a cute frizz. The only thing you missing right now, man, in your whole fit is a cute skirt. You got the cute hat. You got the outwork. That's what we do.
Starting point is 00:12:14 Put a cute skirt on underneath that thing, man. Is a cute skirt one of them? Oh, I'll work, I'll play, I'll hustle. Uh-oh. What's that? That's the beat of DZ. What'd you know about the beat of DZ? Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh. Now, I out hustle. Oh, what's that? What'd you know about the P. I respect it.
Starting point is 00:12:28 I respect when you rock your own merch. Unlike Bryce, what the hell is hockey Fiji? Listen, you know, I like to support the cast. I think this is Eva's merch from this season. And after this episode, the first episode, I'm for sure Eva Stan. I don't play hockey, but I can play some mean air hockey. Ooh, okay.
Starting point is 00:12:54 Score. I like that. That was a good sound. Yeah, that's me scoring one to nothing. So I like the cute club Eva's shirt. I'm going to go get me one of those, you know, I support the family. But listen, we're here for an episode.
Starting point is 00:13:14 We plugged our shirt to. Yeah, you did. And I said, I got to get me one of those. Oh, OK, OK. All right. Come on, man. You got you got to keep going. You, okay, okay. All right. Come on now. You gotta keep going. You gotta keep going. I just heard it. All right, I just heard it.
Starting point is 00:13:30 So slow. But listen. Know about that Philly education. You know how we spell eagles. Did you see our mayor spell eagles? E-G-L-E-S, Ego. He didn't he didn't retire today. She. She.
Starting point is 00:13:48 Oh my goodness. Okay. Let me just say this. Let me just say this. I didn't know that Phyllis Mayer was a woman. So let me backtrack. She need to retire today. I didn't know that Phyllis Mayer was a woman. So let me backtrack. She need to retire today.
Starting point is 00:14:09 We see. I am deceased. But we got episode one of season 48. I love before we turn it over to Jack to narrate us everyone's thoughts on the first episode the start to the new season. I'll go, I thought it was great. I thought we are in for a treat.
Starting point is 00:14:30 I think we have a lot of amazing characters. I thought this was a great episode. I thought the ending was fantastic. I know which way it was gonna go, but I love the dynamics of the new cast. I love the unexpected linkups. I like the fact that there was some foreshadowing of some true alliances.
Starting point is 00:14:48 There's some foreshadowing of some maybe problematic or some places that might be in trouble, but I thought it was a really good start. What y'all think? I mean, I'll go next. I guess I thought it was awesome. You know, I love it when you get off the boat, walk in the sand and you boom, start in the mud. But this challenge right here, in my opinion, was probably the best that I've seen yet
Starting point is 00:15:15 when you're talking about getting off the boat, going through the mud, having to get every single member to the top before you can move forward. And then we have an injury. Counting number one, going under the note, the shoulder pop out of place. When the last time that happened? Stephanie? Yeah, long ago. So it's just like this group, they're going all out.
Starting point is 00:15:40 They don't care about the consequences. They're here to play. And we saw that within that first 30 seconds of the episode when they got back to try to their camp, she wanted to talk. We're gonna talk about her in a minute. We're gonna, I don't wanna say everything just yet. What you think about the episode? Get ready for Las Vegas style action at BedMGM, the king of online casinos.

I think we see the connections or we see things starting to happen that I can't wait to see how they play out. I want to see the like Eva Joe Alliance.
Starting point is 00:17:16 I want to see how that plays out because now it seems like it seems like he's tied to this person because she opened up with him. But we're playing a game for a million dollars. I don't know, I just want to see. So I'm excited to just see how things shake out. But he did say, Wendell, that he's willing to lose the game to her.
Starting point is 00:17:37 Yeah, that was a strong statement. And that's when Joe took my heart in that moment. Yeah, I was a big fan of the episode too. And that's when Joe took my heart in that moment. Yeah. Yeah, I was a big fan of the episode too. I thought it was a great start. I love the opening challenge. I love that they opened up with clips of everybody finding out they were on the cast.
Starting point is 00:17:56 That was really fun. And I think there's a lot of good characters so far. And I also think there's a lot of like, rootable characters, people that I'm really excited to watch and to support. So, yeah, and then to top it all off, the tribal was a really exciting one, too, for a first episode, so no complaints at all. It's always good to get Survivor back, too,
Starting point is 00:18:15 and get those goosebumps going when things open up, so it was a great start to the season. Do you remember in the beginning of Survivor, I think it might have been, been like maybe season one through six when they used to do it where you would be at work and the camera crew would come and it would be like you're leaving from work to go right on the island.
Starting point is 00:18:35 I kind of got that feel a little bit from seeing their live reactions of finding out that they were on the cast. So I like that editing and where they're going. It's like giving us behind the scene in this new era. It's one of those things. It's like you're basically seeing footage of someone someone's dream coming true. And I think that immediately, even if it's a five second clip, immediately makes people more sympathetic. You know, like seeing Joe have like top it all off with his
Starting point is 00:19:02 reaction about his family. Five seconds in, you don't even know him, but you're like, I'm rooting for Joe. You know, so I think it was really exciting and showed them, like you said, Bryce, that kind of slice of their life back home before they head out to the island. I feel like the editors are playing with us already in the sense of we saw everyone's clip, like we saw Mitch, we saw Star, you know, five seconds. But we see 32 minutes of Joe. And so it's like, don't play with me, you are building me up.
Starting point is 00:19:37 I already love this man. And like, I just I get worried because I know that the editors back in the day, you know, we used to get a winners edit, right? So from episode one, you could be like, I saw a winner. I didn't see one on season 36, it was hard to tell, but in other eras, you could just see a winner. So I get nervous because they like to play with our emotions,
Starting point is 00:19:57 but listen, I'm gonna start the petition and I'm a Joe stan right out there. I mean, Joe is probably, this first episode was the first one that I've ever watched. And I'm not an emotional guy. And I got, I was like, dang, this guy here, he's awesome. Like he's everything that I would love to have on the island with me. Let me just tell you.
Starting point is 00:20:21 So it's just one of those things where this was the first episode that got me kind of, okay, stuffed up a little bit to say, man, this cast here is gonna be something else to watch unless they're gonna do something Q-like and crazy next week. I'm cheering man. I will say that my last thought is, and we can kind of get into it
Starting point is 00:20:42 because my thought process develops as the episode goes on. However, I will say this. The one thing that I was a little disappointed in right out the bat, because I feel like season 46 and 47, we've had characters like a Q, we've had characters like a Rome. And so I'm like, where's Z? Like, you know, where's L? Where's the new? And I don't think that I discovered that character or that character wasn't what I thought it was going to be. But by the end of the episode, I
Starting point is 00:21:16 think I have discovered who I feel like could potentially be be the new Q. Who is it? I don't wanna say. That's fair. You have to say here in a minute. Yeah, yeah, I think we'll definitely I'm on the same page as you Bryce. We can get into that a little bit later. Yeah, we talked a little bit about that opening challenge and then we get into the journey. But apparently, this is per Mike Bloom, who was out on the island.
Starting point is 00:21:53 Kevin, they covered a little bit of his shoulder injury. Apparently he fully dislocated it and they had to pop it back into place. Pretty wild. What do you guys think about his decision to then volunteer for the journey? Because I feel like you already hurt your shoulder, you might not be 100%.
Starting point is 00:22:11 He kind of explained it, it's like, I mean, I'm doubling down, it's double or nothing for me. Is that a good idea or should he have just steered clear? Not thinking about the results because he obviously ended up winning that challenge. I just think it's his way to say, look, guys, I'm fine. I'm a fighter. I want to continue. I'm going to do everything that I can for this try. And with him coming back with the pop machete and everything, it solidifies. They know, regardless if the guy's shoulder's on the ground, he's gonna show up at least and try.
Starting point is 00:22:48 Yeah Q, but what if he didn't come back with that? Well, we don't have to worry about that because he did. That made me nervous though Q, because for me watching it, and I love Kevin, it made me feel like I hurt my shoulder. I need to go on this journey to get something to come like to protect myself. And so I was worried that if he had not come back with something that the tribe will automatically like the speculations will be
Starting point is 00:23:16 mounting for him. So I was a little nervous, but I was glad that he went out there. And I loved the new challenge. I've in my own mind, I felt like it's the new version of sweat versus savvy, right? Like I like the adaptation to it. I do think, I do want to ask you Q, if this was on season 46, would Jalinsky have completed this? Or do you think- Jalinsky wouldn't have been there.
Starting point is 00:23:38 Q would have went. What you mean? Oh, yeah, oh, that's right, okay, I was gonna say. You said that one person to go do something like that, when you talk about facing, no, I would have volunteered to make sure that I win. But let's go back to season, I think it's 20, where James hurt his knee in a challenge.
Starting point is 00:23:55 Think about those moments and what the, they don't wanna get rid of James, but they feel like, okay, you tried to run and you couldn't run, I would have to get rid of you. So with Cal, maybe that's in the back of his mind, like, okay, if I don't do something now, I'm going home first, potentially. So I liked his move to say, you know what,
Starting point is 00:24:16 put me in, let me show you guys, this shoulder's not bothering me. It popped out, but it ain't gonna stop me. It was definitely a risk, but it worked out for him. Partly thanks to the fact that Kyle accidentally broke his container. But then what do we think of Kyle's move to help Kevin out?
Starting point is 00:24:37 I think my draft and my take on Kyle from first look is that Kyle is a stand up good guy. And I like Kyle. However, I mean, let's also be real. If Kyle stays in the game and we do a tribe swap, you know, he happens to somehow get back with Kevin, like Kevin going to remember that. So I thought that was like a really smart move, but also I felt like it was like a standup move
Starting point is 00:25:05 because I've been liable to just break Kevin's glass. My bad. It's just, I mean, well, if you look at it, it was more so of a thing. There was no coming back for him with that challenge. He broke it, it was done for him. So would you rather just sit there and watch the guy feel up the pot, would you say, you know what,
Starting point is 00:25:28 let me get back to camp as quickly as I can, let me help, but also maybe build a relationship in the bun and get an ally out of the deal. So my try don't think we was out here doing something else crazy, because this guy's gonna take forever to fill it up. Is there a world where this move backfires on him? I think so, but I think that,
Starting point is 00:25:50 I don't know exactly what he shared, but I was just thinking, I like the move. I wouldn't go tell my tribe that I started helping him. Because obviously, we know the scenario, he wasn't coming back, it was raps for him. But I think just hearing like, Oh, you helped someone on the other tribe would send up alarms. And that's where it could backfire a little bit. Even it's like, not only are you helping their tribe, helping
Starting point is 00:26:13 like he was going to get it done regardless, but you're also you know, making those inroads with other players that I haven't even had access to. And that's a little bit dangerous. But I'm a Kyle fan. I love what he's done so far. Bryce, I do gotta say, you were talking about your draft. Didn't you pick him as a third boot? And now you're gassing him up. I'm just saying. No, I said that he would likely go out early
Starting point is 00:26:36 because he is so likable. And this demonstrating how likable and a standup guy he is, like it speaks to his character. Now I will tell you one thing that was bothering the hell out of me about a Kyle during this challenge. I wish he would have just wet his hand and just wiped his face a little bit.
Starting point is 00:26:56 It was so distracting how muddy his face was. Yeah, they were muddy. Yeah. But that challenge right there forced you to get really muddy. Cause typically, you know, it's a little higher, your net is a little flexible. I mean, the earth seemed like it was tight. They had to put their face in it to get through.
Starting point is 00:27:16 So just thinking about that and then saying it was a mess. But something Kyle did do that I liked when he got back, it felt like folks wanted to bring him in and catch him up on what was going on and what was being said about him in particular. So I think maybe he has some allies who are going to protect him for a vote or two until something like what happened in the first challenge happens again. And they realized, oh man, this guy here, he's too nice, he's too likable. Let's go and get rid of him. I did love his intro when he got back to camp
Starting point is 00:27:50 as he'd get off the boat. He's like, I'm Kyle, I'm 29, I'm from wherever, and I do not get the supplies. Like, it's just straight up. I also liked just a small thing about that challenge too. I love the idea of just get this pot or whatever down by any means necessary. It's up on the bamboo. There's no rules.
Starting point is 00:28:11 But going into that challenge, you might be thinking, oh, do I? It kind of shows a little bit into the players headspace of like, do I have to like, is there some trick to this? Or you could just brute force take that thing down. And I think it shows those different perspectives that that was kind of fun and just sort of it was cool to see what creative means that these players adopt. You know, yeah. Can we talk about the coconut, though?
Starting point is 00:28:35 Like Kyle having the coconut and not realizing that, like, you don't got to do nothing else. Just crack the coconut open. I love the nuances and the new things that Survivor is incorporating. Cause I thought that that was great because I probably would be like a Kyle and I still would have my coconut and not know that I need to crack it open.
Starting point is 00:28:58 Yeah, that was great. They've been more creative in the last couple of seasons, even with like Rachel's journey puzzle last season. I feel like they found some fresh life in these challenges and it's definitely been appreciated. So. And also the Beware advantage that they had. That was crazy, man.
Starting point is 00:29:17 He's in the dolphins and the frogs and the turtles. That was insane. Cause anybody could have seen him. I was like, that's never here. What the hell is this? Yeah. When I heard the by any means necessary take down of the pot, I was like, man,
Starting point is 00:29:37 what if they applied that to the beware advantage? And you can like crack it open or something like that. I wanna see that latitude in more things. I wanna see people like, yo, figure it out. How about this? Can we talk about in this first challenge, the physical strengths of the tribe? I think that in our draft and in the first look,
Starting point is 00:30:01 we were saying how the tribes kind of looked equally comparable, but it seemed that in this first look, we were saying how the tribes kind of looked equally comparable, but it seemed that in this first episode, we got to see that maybe physical strength on some of the tribes, like they still kind of figuring it out because I think it is a, was it the Orange tribe? That the Orange's were counties. So is it orange? I would say that purple tribe is probably the strongest tribe. And I think the green tribe's looking maybe the weakest. I mean, orange and purple, they got David and Joe.
Starting point is 00:30:36 They got some athletic women. Green, it's like, I'd say their most athletic guy is probably Kevin. And then he already messes up his shoulder. Is that kind of what you were thinking, Bryce? Yeah, because I was thinking how they didn't even I'd say their most athletic guy is probably Kevin. And then he already messes up his shoulder. Is that kind of what you were thinking, Brycer? Do you think? Yeah, because I was thinking how they, they didn't even complete the challenge.
Starting point is 00:30:49 Like Dr. Cedric was having a hard time getting up the board, like they just couldn't do it. And that was like a struggle to watch, but I don't think. Good, knock it smart. Doc got those letters, wrote them but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but,
Starting point is 00:31:22 but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, that ends in like a puzzle that where he has to put his thinking cap through. I like Cedric. What do we think about this green shot? Cause we talked about the Bewear advantage, which was obviously in the hands of Say, and Say came in hot. Immediately grabs all the guys, makes a squad, also doing some chatting with the girls. Say came to play.
Starting point is 00:31:42 And as she says down the line, I'm not wasting time looking at the stars. I'm here to like- Hey, that's down like somebody. That's down like somebody, I know. I didn't wanna say earlier, but Say killed it and crushed it. I absolutely, at first when I watched the episode,
Starting point is 00:32:02 I kinda was like, oh, what are you doing? You're like, but I have to episode, I kind of was like, oh, what are you doing? You're like, but I have to be remiss that I feel like in past seasons, we've seen a Say in the male version, right? And people rally around this person and they love it. And so I love that Say is out there. This black woman is like, I come to frown, like, yo, you, you, you, we together, what's up, like,
Starting point is 00:32:27 I like that take charge energy, because if you don't take charge, then you're gonna be following. However, I know enough of enough of enough that when you do take charge, you do become a target, and you have to maintain that leadership in order to stay on top. And it's like, it's easier for people to kind of come for you. But I have to say, say, impress the hell out of me.
Starting point is 00:32:53 It's that filly of her. It's her facial expressions. It's her being like, speak of her mind. Like I, I love to say this episode. She was the one that reminded me the most of a cue. Like she wasn't playing. she was the one that reminded me the most of a cue. Like she wasn't playing. I gotta, I gotta, I gotta push back a little bit.
Starting point is 00:33:11 Now I love what says bringing. Right here. Really? Hold on. I mean, okay. Say great character wise, bringing a lot to the table, set a record for confessionals in one episode last night with 22. You got to be doing something right. But I just think coming in way too hot. Like, you know, like I said, immediately making
Starting point is 00:33:37 all these alliances, literally at tribal saying, I don't want to, I'm not here. Like I like that mentality, but to be like, Oh, y'all shouldn't be looking at stars. Y'all should go to the water while we deal. It's like, well, now I know what type of player you are. And that's kind of a hard player to trust. I just think say is going a little too hard. To me, it reminds me a lot of Rome, where Rome in last season found an idol early on immediately makes these bonds without really, I think, feeling people out as much as he should have. And it works early on because especially in a tribe of six, when you go to travel early,
Starting point is 00:34:11 people are going to be scared to rock the boat. So you're the one who's guiding the boat. People might jump on board. But as soon as you're the captain sailing the ship and then you get to emerge with two other tribes, I think there's a clear target on Say's back, whether it's on this tribe or down the line. It's just this position she's put herself in is gonna be impossible to maintain for an entire season,
Starting point is 00:34:30 I think in the new era. And that's why I'm a little bit worried for Say, but I love that she's coming in hot, ready to battle, because it's either gonna be incredible and she's gonna win and it's like, holy smokes, or I think most of the time she's gonna go down in flames, but it's gonna be good TV. So I'm not mad at it. I didn't think that I do,
Starting point is 00:34:49 I wanna push back a little bit more, right? Like I do, I agree with your take, right? Like I don't love to take charge of it, but I do love it. And I don't feel like she was a dictator though, right? I feel like throughout the episode, we saw her holding council, convening, seeing what other people had to say. So like, I feel like there's a world where, yes, she might just be getting the ball started, but I feel like she has Dr. Cedric, she has Balinski. I feel like
Starting point is 00:35:18 she was taking advice, listening to people. It wasn't like she was like, this is what we're doing and we done. Yeah. I mean, I like the fact that she asked for help early on with her beware advantage. So that shows that when she is in need, she will listen to someone else. But at the same time, Sadie, it was she felt like she needed to do to get herself established on day one.
Starting point is 00:35:44 Like she found to be aware of that on day one. Like she found the big word band on day one. She was not going to stop until she finished it. So I like that about her. But you know, to your point, she has to know when to dial it back. And that was some of my mistakes early on. Dialing it back some. Dialing it back. And but she did a great job. I feel like looping folks in to say, you know what? I trust you. I trust you. And this is my way of showing it.
Starting point is 00:36:08 This is what I have is for us. Let's make something happen. That is your you. I feel like there's a balance of to me. She's actually a really good ally because she locks in right away and you could tell she wants to my with her squad. You know, she's awesome. She's pushing back on Stephanie a lot publicly. But to me, if that's my ally, then I know
Starting point is 00:36:29 you guys are at odds. You're with me. That's cool. I'm worried. It's like I said, very similar to Rome, where especially with the idol in the pocket, I think say could run this tribe. But I'm worried she gets to the merge goes in with that same mentality where she pulls eight people to the water well and starts wheeling and dealing. Everyone's going to be like, whoa, let's go now. And I honestly think this first vote, I mean, it was kind of straightforward with, OK, everybody's on board with Stephanie.
Starting point is 00:36:58 What if they lose again and now they have to make this tough decision to get rid of somebody they really like and wanna keep around for whatever reason and say is now that art personnel. And they could lose again. Oh, for sure. Well, 100% can and probably will.
Starting point is 00:37:18 They're the yarn-o. No cap, they the yarn-o. They're gonna probably lose a bunch. Although it's safe. And doing that, and doing it, I think, No, no, no cap. They the honor. They're gonna probably lose a bunch. And doing it, I think if she can survive, you know, this next tribal, it gives her some experience and maybe now it puts her in a place to say, you know what, it could be me next, actually now, because we're down to our strongest in this category, especially if they vote out another female on their tribe.
Starting point is 00:37:45 Now she's have to look at it like, okay, with these four guys, these three guys that I came together to bond with, would they just band together and get rid of me next? Yeah. But Jade, having that idol in a tribe of five early on, I feel like people are gonna steer clear. And so that opens up a lot of avenues for say,
Starting point is 00:38:05 but you know, looking last night, it did seem like she was pretty confident going into tribal, which I was nervous because I'm like, if you, for me, first tribal, if I know it's me or Bryce, I'm just gonna play my idol and make sure I'm good. But like you said, Q, I think maybe this alliance was a little bit stronger than the edit gave credit for, but I just to, I hope for say that she's not a little too overconfident because it's a long road ahead with that idol.
Starting point is 00:38:32 And if you're, if you're worried about playing it perfect, there's going to be a lot of opportunities to not play it and mess up. So I just hope. You know, can I give kudls to, uh, Balinski and Kevin, right? Because throughout this Psy edit, I feel like we got to see glimpses of those two kind of teetering along a little bit, like, I don't know. But, and so I feel like,
Starting point is 00:39:00 I like the fact that they're forward thinking, even though Psy, my girl, and I want her to go far, I'm also just peeping them being like, if the boat starts to sink, it's time to jump. And I like the fact that they kind of already, and at one point in time, the way the edit was going, I thought they made it already. So I like the fact that they are kind of like,
Starting point is 00:39:22 sure, we in now, but wherever it goes. And Kevin with his alliances that he's got like, who did he lock in? Was it Mary? Mary. Yeah. And that's what I'm saying. If it's, hey, let's get rid of Mary next.
Starting point is 00:39:35 And Kevin is like, absolutely not. Can't do that, won't do that. And he can get, is it Balensky? Yeah. If he can get him, say he's in trouble. Right. Bryce, I'm curious, Belinsky was your winner pick. How do you feel after seeing him this episode?
Starting point is 00:39:53 I feel like it was a bit of a mixed bag for Belinsky. I feel like he, well, one, wasn't exactly what I expected from the photos, but he was still chill. Like he linked up with Psy. Like I felt like he's playing the position really well. I didn't see enough, but I felt like I saw enough that like, okay, he can go far and he knows what he's doing.
Starting point is 00:40:14 So I wasn't mad at Balinski real quick. He was very chill. He was also very unassuming. Like I saw people joking online that he looked like he might have like a weed pen out there. Hey listen, I was just gonna say, Bal he looked like he might have like a weed pen out there. Hey, listen, I was just gonna say, Balinski looked like he ride skateboards and smoke weed all day long.
Starting point is 00:40:30 His shirt just says pizza, you know, but he sounds chill like, yeah, it wasn't like a lot of Justin Balinski content. Like it was like, I feel like his first confession, he's like, you know how back at the pizza shop we do it. Like, and I'm like, we don't know anything about you, but I didn't even know you worked at a pizza shop. Like.
Starting point is 00:40:51 But he's got that fire though. You could see the fire though. Like is. And it's masked by that little chill stoner. So that could be, that could be dangerous. Yeah. I'm curious. I'm sorry, but just not to bring it to another show. And I'm not caught up on traders,
Starting point is 00:41:11 but like kind of like how you got Carolyn, a lot of people over there think that they're like, all right, she's just doing whatever over there, but no, she's a trader and she locked in. But over here you have this guy, Justin, who was like, all right, he looks like he's, you know, chilling or whatever, but not the man is somebody we want.
Starting point is 00:41:27 He's thinking, man. He's thinking about it. He's making this move. He's choosing. And he could have chosen to say, you know what? Let's go this way. But I think maybe he saw something in Say's game versus Stephanie that he feels like is gonna better him.
Starting point is 00:41:44 But now at least until now it's like okay you truly in the middle but do you want to rock with Kevin or do you want to rock with Tate? Right yeah I'm curious I feel like we might as well touch on this now since we're here at the Green Tribe you know let's consider there to be three duos, right? There's Stephanie and Mary, there's Justin and Kevin, and then there's Say and Cedric. Justin and Kevin are the swing votes. Do we think they made the right move here?
Starting point is 00:42:15 And what could have their other options been at tribal council? I think they made the right move in my opinion, because say they went with a Stephanie, right? And if they go with a Stephanie, who then becomes the illuminating star? It's going to be Malinsky or Kevin. If they went with Stephanie and voted,
Starting point is 00:42:39 if they worked with them right, I feel like it raises their threat level, right? However, keeping a say, getting rid of a Stephanie, say is still the front runner, still the person with the eye like that you could get out at any time and people are looking at and you right where you need to be and you have the numbers. So I feel like they made a good decision from my perspective. Yep. Same here.
Starting point is 00:43:04 Yeah. Yeah, my thinking on it, I was seeing a lot of different options, right? I felt like if you wanted to target Sey, you'd probably want to split the vote on Sey and Cedric because of the idol. And then it seems like they have a decent relationship with Cedric. So then there's a chance Cedric goes home and it's like, maybe I don't want maybe I'd rather Stephanie goes home than Cedric. I do think flushing the idol or blindsiding stay with it would have been nice. You know, you now with five people and one person as an idol, it's a little bit scary. Like that say Cedric duo, she could play for herself,
Starting point is 00:43:43 she could just play it for Cedric. And then you're like, now I don't really know. What I do like going with say, like you said, Bryce, I mean, for all the reasons you said, Bryce, plus I kind of like Kevin has this good relationship with Mary, a lot of times in a tribe of sticks, when that first person goes, their duo becomes that free agent swing vote. And so now it's like, Kevin could just pull in Mary and be like, look, I didn't really have a choice. Belinsky was with them, but Belinsky is gonna work with us now and we can get out like a say or a Cedric, which I think-
Starting point is 00:44:12 So remind me, did Mary also vote for say? She voted for, yeah, she did vote for say. Okay. She was the only vote because Stephanie played her shot in the dark. Yes. But yeah, I think there's a chance to pull in Mary here. And I think that's a really good position for Belinsky and Kevin, because it's more likely that Mary's going to go with them,
Starting point is 00:44:29 I think. And so the only complication out is that idol. But to me, there was so much, it would have been difficult to really like blindside say or get that idol out that I can, I understood that being like, let's just go with the chill move here and save that for another day and just kind of see the shape of it. But in reality though, it probably sets it up because the four of them all voted together. So Say in her mind may be thinking, okay, we're all gonna vote for Mary
Starting point is 00:44:58 and those other two switch and go with Mary. She's going home with that idea. That's so very possible. And especially with say seeming very confident, like they might think our force tight. And I guess if you try to pull a fast one and say is worried, she'd probably just idle and still vote for Mary. And then you know, you get to four and it's a two to split and then you figure it out. But yeah, I think Kevin and Balinski are on a good spot.
Starting point is 00:45:29 Watching the episode and watching how I say moves, I don't think she's thinking like, oh, they're gonna get me. I'm thinking she's more so thinking I'm in control, I'm calling the shots, I want Mary gone, they telling me yes, they telling me everything they told me last week and they voted with me. And she won't see the switch.
Starting point is 00:45:49 The only thing I'm going to say, I agree with that, but my girl from Philly. Philly, we a little different. We got street smarts. We deal with a lot of things growing up in the city of Philadelphia. So I think my girl's say is going to have a little more wherewithal if something were to come up. That's how I'm gonna do it. It's a Philly thing. And real quick, can we shout out Mary real quick? I feel like people go on this show and making fire is a big F and deal. We see people with their videos making fire. Q couldn't make fire if we were in hell. And Mary.
Starting point is 00:46:26 Hold on, whoa, whoa, whoa. Q didn't have no flint. I could make fire. Okay. When's the last time you used your fireplace out in your backyard? Due to the fact that it's getting warm in Mississippi. Not, not, it's been a while.
Starting point is 00:46:42 Okay. I mean, it was just winter you were the last time you back down to your driveway today. I said, window. You got out of windows vehicle. Uber out taxi. Taxi. Yeah, but shout out to Mary though, because for her to get fire
Starting point is 00:47:06 and then casually go up in your confessional and be like, it's the first time I made fire. Like what? The way she was like, Mary, I think Mary's going to be funny, good, she's going to bring some good TV if she can make it past this. But something just tells me either they gonna flip on say, cause Mary is very, very like, it seems fun to be around out there,
Starting point is 00:47:37 especially for somebody like Kyle, I mean Kevin, right? Especially for him. So to wanna get rid of that energy, I don't know. Yeah. She's funny. She's got some funny pre-season tweets. Yeah. Yes.
Starting point is 00:47:54 Oh, yeah. Sure. A couple of things I wanted to bring up from, sorry, go ahead, Bryce. No, I was gonna say, can we switch tribes real quick? Cause I want to give you some credit, Jack. Yeah, I actually wanted to bounce. I mean, since we talked about tribal, I just wanted to touch on a couple of things and then we could cover the other tribes real quick because I want to give you some credit Jack. Yeah, I actually wanted to bounce. I mean, since we talked about tribal, I just wanted to touch on a couple of things and then we could cover the other tribes real quick.
Starting point is 00:48:10 Um, something I thought was interesting. Now the way it was edited, it looked close. And so Stephanie playing the shot in the dark, she probably knew she was in more danger than we realized, but it's smart move Jack though, I was going to say, I think it is because in that situation, you know, you either have four votes or you have two in either way. Like if you have four votes, you play the shot in the dark, you still have the majority. You might as well be sure. Like, if you know, I've said this in the past, if you're if you're worried and you know, your vote is not pivotal,
Starting point is 00:48:41 might as well just play the shot in the dark. Like, why not? Now, you always got to remind me each season, Jack, is this the most ideal time? Is this where playing your shot in the dark is the most maximized? When is it the most maximized, numbers wise? Is it this or when you're down one more person? I mean, it's always one in six. So I would say it's less about the number of people and more about just like how many, how likely is it that you are catching votes, right? Like if I'm one of two targets, there could be 30 people or there could be six people and I'm still one of two.
Starting point is 00:49:20 But I guess what I will say is the fewer the people there are, that vote could your vote is going to matter more theoretically. Right. So if it's 30 and it's me versus 29 people, like I definitely got to play it. My vote's not going to matter. But if it's six, your vote, but to me, like I said, it's four versus two, one way or the other might as well make it three versus two or four versus one because it doesn't matter.
Starting point is 00:49:44 So you might as well just play it. I think it did. It seemed like she knew she was in danger. So I don't know if that was her thought process. Maybe she was just like, I'm screwed. I got to play it. But the other thing I wanted to bring up was just the conversation, the argument between Say and Stephanie about like, are you here to look at the stars or are you here to go talk the water well? Like what as y'all played, like what's that balance like? I don't know. What did you, I thought it was a weird argument to have, but what did you guys think about that? I mean, I think you got to have a little bit of both. Just a little bit. I agree. But I, I agree because I feel like you need to get to know people. But I don't know, because it didn't really work out that well for me.
Starting point is 00:50:29 But I'm saying, right, like you got to hit the iron hot, you got to hit while it's hot. And it's like, hey, you with me? What's up? Let's go. Because oftentimes I feel like from my experience, we're on Survivor and you're, hey, what's your son's name is? A, school. You went to Morehouse? Cool.
Starting point is 00:50:49 I find the more talk you have like that with people, it really lets you know they not working with you. Yeah. So- Oh, I thought you were saying- No. I thought I was going the other way. No, well, from my experience,
Starting point is 00:51:02 because listen, I'm day and night being- Maybe what Bryce, the way he's saying is, if they're not talking strategy with you, then who are they talking that talk with? If they're talking small talk with you. Yeah, right. But day one, to me, look, I haven't been out there, but I feel like day one, let me get to know you
Starting point is 00:51:19 and really feel out your vibe and see if we're actually simpatico. And then maybe we're one-on-one talking, we get really get along. I'll be like, Hey, Bryce, I'd love to work with you. Like, let's figure something out. And then feel but to be like, yo, you know, y'all build a shelter, I'm going to the water well with three people, let's lock it in. I'm like, I don't even know your name. Like, we got to like, We gotta like, that's not gonna last very long. To her defense, with 26 days, I mean, it moves quick. You don't have two days in between before.
Starting point is 00:51:50 You're going to travel tomorrow. But I'm with you, I think it's a balance, right? Because you don't wanna be doing the, where are you from for four days? Cause you might go to travel, but I'm like, let me have a little one-on-one, catch a vibe with everybody. That'd be like, oh, I feel good about this person.
Starting point is 00:52:04 I wanna know that we're compatible as people before I would commit to an alliance. And that could happen within an hour, right? You have the right conversation. But I just got to feel someone out. And I think that's why Stephanie was on kind of one extreme end and Say was kind of on the other. And I feel like that argument about watching the stars sort of epitomize that difference. But I think in reality, the right place to be is right in the middle, sort of like that. If Segold is home next week, then we do understand and know that there has to be a behind the middle.
Starting point is 00:52:39 Doesn't it make you appreciate Kyle a lot better coming back from losing the thing like boom. Hey, my name's Kyle. I'm a Sagittarius. I went to a boar house. I didn't win, right? Like I kind of like how Kyle kinda, he ain't wasting no time, but like, let me introduce you.
Starting point is 00:52:55 But to that thing with the stars and say, right, I tend to, I agree with y'all, right? Like you need to warm me up a little bit, take me on a date. But in this new era, you don't know the pace of other people's game or like, so it's like, you could be behind. So I definitely think you need to be.
Starting point is 00:53:15 Right, right. And I think to sort of sum up, right, if I'm going out there, I think maybe to me and you correct me if I'm wrong, the lesson here would be, for me it's more about those one-on-one bonds right away. I could have a good conversation with someone an hour in and be like, yo, I'm a look out for you. Let's figure something out. And then you do that with a couple of people, be like, how do you feel, Bryce? How do you feel about Q? Wendell? How do you feel about Bryce? Oh, everybody likes each other? Alliance.
Starting point is 00:53:43 But I just think it needs a little more finesse than just being like, oh, you, you, you and you, let's, let's get it going. Like, you know what I mean? What if you're that one person that she's coming to saying, Hey, one, two, three, want to talk to you as a fourth and it's the tribe of six. You can't be like, Oh, I'm a man. If I'm like a Kevin, that's the one getting approached, I'm saying yes, but I'm gonna keep my options up. Yeah, for sure. Which I think he's done.
Starting point is 00:54:12 I think he's done a great job of doing that. I think he's got the right balance right now, right? Like he made that connection with Mary. He got himself in this alliance. He's the one with the options right now. So. Also, real quick, before we leave this drive, I love seeing the connection of a Mary and a Kevin.
Starting point is 00:54:30 And on the same tribe, we have a connection with a Cedric and a Si. I don't think we've ever seen anything like that before. And I love it. And I just love it. But can we go to another tribe real quick, Jack? Because I just want to say, I want to give you that phrases cause I do love to argue with you and I do love to pick apart everything that you do and say, however, I'm on the mother Thomas train.
Starting point is 00:54:59 Okay? Thomas the train. I, Thomas's energy was not what I expected from his photos. However, I liked Thomas's quirkiness. I liked the fact that he was like open about like, okay, I don't know if I'm gonna fit in here, but put himself out there. I feel like he linked up with my girl in my head,
Starting point is 00:55:23 Bianca Rose, love that connection. Then we got the California Girlies Alliance. Like I just love the fact that Thomas, he's finding his way. He doesn't quite fit in, but he's like making those roles and he's funny, he's queer. Like I just, I'm on the Thomas, call me Thomas the train, I'm on the Thomas, call me Thomas the train.
Starting point is 00:55:46 I'm on it. I love that. I knew, I thought he was going to be good and I was really blown away. Like some hilarious, just one-liners, so funny, playing a great strategic game, just like self-deprecating, but vulnerable, but funny, but strategic. Like it's so many layers.
Starting point is 00:56:04 Very excited. He's so many layers. Very excited. He's my winner pick. I'm glad he's bringing in Bianca. And I feel like he's trying to bring her in in a way that's subtle with the California girls. And I just love this purple tribe. I love this purple tribe.
Starting point is 00:56:17 Everyone. Right. They might not lose their stacks. Even like the person on the outs right now is star, which I'm sad to see, because I love Star's energy. But at the same time, I'm like, well, I don't want to lose Joe and Eva. I don't want to lose Thomas, Bianca and Shaheen. There's so many, I hope they don't lose,
Starting point is 00:56:35 because I don't want to lose any of them. So I love this tribe. Yeah, it's a great, I want to see this tribe 24 seven. It's a great group. Yeah. Eva, Joe, can we talk about that a little bit? Because that was so emotional, so raw, so real. And just first we stay in Eva, right? Like Eva is such a hard worker.
Starting point is 00:57:00 Eva tells Joe that she is autistic and that sometimes like her perception of things is different. And she's worried and she's coming to Joe to say like, Hey, I don't want to tell everybody because if I tell everybody, they can use it against me and want to vote me out. But I just need my one person to hold me down. And Joe said, hold you down. I got you. I'm going to be your number one. I'm gonna protect you. And it's like, it's the weirdest thing ever
Starting point is 00:57:29 because I was, Wendell, we were talking about this in the car where it's like, it's almost as if Joe is so locked in that he's willing to give up his million dollars because of this connection. And that's so deep. And that's like, and that's what people don't understand about Survivor, I think, from a former player is that you're out there for a million dollars,
Starting point is 00:57:49 but the people that you meet out there are real people. It is a real connection and you can't just turn off your human side. Yeah, I agree. Is she the first Survivor player with autism? She said she was. Is she the first survivor player with autism? She says she was. That's like openly, yeah, yeah, I think so. Wow, yeah.
Starting point is 00:58:12 And game wise, I was thinking like, all right, with a story like this, do you save something like this for your final jury speech? Are you giving, are you save something like this for your final jury speech? Are you giving, are you telling too much to someone? But in this case, regarding Joe specifically, like, first of all, we saw Joe in the opening, how when he got the news, he broke down and like that, that got everyone's emotions, right? So you already know that this firefighter with a family, just like a leader of a family, emotional dude, right?
Starting point is 00:58:46 And then you see this younger woman come to him and say, hey, look, sharing this aspect of her life that she might, she shouldn't share with everyone, of course, on the island, because for whatever reason, she's sharing it with him because she trusts him. And now we're like, all right, he's locked in with her and he's going to protect her and I just think he had daughters right yeah that means a whole lot more to him than I'm telling you anything he ain't letting nobody or nothing manipulate that no it was a great show he moved her but Joe was like man now now your game is kind of contingent on her. You're going to protect her at any cost, right? Yeah. What do you do in a moment like that? That, that of like,
Starting point is 00:59:33 you know, someone like it is. Yeah. What do you do? Or what do you do if everyone's like, all right, we got to vote her out. You gotta step up, you gotta. But, and I loved how Eva described it, how like, you know, she's different. But in my mind, I'm like, Eva, that's your superpower, girl. Like, and as quiet as it's kept, everybody out there on that island, Eva, is a little different, right?
Starting point is 01:00:02 And so I loved that, but I just, also that scene where Eva, in the beginning, where Eva was like, I wasn't sure like if I was fitting in and they said, we need bamboo. And Eva went and got the, I was like, yes, Eva. That just reminded me of myself in so many other situations. So it's like, I just love seeing that.
Starting point is 01:00:22 And I love Eva and I hope she goes far, but it will be interesting to see how things unfold with her relationship with Joe. And she said like, she will eventually tell people, but it's not the first thing that she wants to tell people, right? Like, you know, I want people to get to know me, see me for me. So I really respected that.
Starting point is 01:00:40 And I thought that I'm looking forward to watching this. I mean, a good thing for her, like I say, she's on a tribe that might not lose ever. So now she gets to a murder situation and there's bigger personalities, bigger fish to fry. She can fly through a couple of boats. Here we go. Yeah, I think she came in with the perfect, uh, the perfect mentality here, right? Like, uh, she knows it's going to be a double-edged
Starting point is 01:01:06 sword. Some positives and some negatives. She doesn't want to tell anybody. I think that's smart. But to lock in with one person, I don't think there's a better person in the whole game than Joe to lock in with. He's going to look out for you. He's going to help you when you're struggling. And then also, I feel like I feel like something like sharing something like that kind of transcends the game. And so if someone comes to you with that information, it's gonna lock you in. And not that she's using it to make an ally. But I think that in doing so it locks her in with Joe as we as we can see, and helps her out.
Starting point is 01:01:39 And it's gonna I think it's just a win out for her on so many levels. Because it's gonna I think she took the right approach. It's gonna help her personally, it's gonna, I think it's just a win out for her on so many levels, because it's gonna, I think she took the right approach. It's gonna help her personally, it's gonna help her game, working with Joe. And so, yeah, I think she's in a great, and I love, you know, she talked about how she hyper fixates, like you said, Bryce,
Starting point is 01:01:56 if there's one thing to hyper fix it on, it's go get a ton of bamboo, like people are gonna love you for that. You know, she's using that superpower in a way that's gonna help her. And I just hope she continues to do that. And if she does, it's gonna set her apart above the rest. But it shows you how much awareness she has.
Starting point is 01:02:16 Like she's aware, she's thinking days ahead because she knows herself so well that she knows she's gonna need somebody to help her. And go out and reach out on day one and say, hey, listen, this is what's going to happen. This is who I am as a person. I need your help. It just shows, man, she's locked in.
Starting point is 01:02:37 Yeah, she's planted. And I think one of the moments that I knew I loved her and I think was like after she established with Joe, and I think it might've been, I don't know who, Joe was talking with someone else and they were essentially gaming. And Eva came up and they stopped talking and was like, what's up, what's going on?
Starting point is 01:02:55 Like, Eva was like, oh, y'all want some coconut? Like, I loved how, I loved that moment because it was so innocent, but it also made me feel like, I feel like, again, this is Eva's superpower, right? I think that this is gonna propel her, right? Like, I think that this, in that moment where it's like, they're coming, they're talking, and she's just like,
Starting point is 01:03:17 I'm just offering y'all coconuts, what's up? Like, I think people are going to trust her. People are going, it's going to, I think what she perceives or what she believes is gonna make her different, I think it's really gonna pull more people in. It's gonna make her more trustworthy. And I think she's gonna go really far in this game. I have questions.
Starting point is 01:03:37 First of all, do you see her opening up and sharing this with other people before the end of the game? Before the end of the game, yeah. I think so. Do you see that helping or hurting her game? Hurting, for sure. I don't think people want her to go for like once she starts
Starting point is 01:03:56 opening up and sharing it like bro. I remember what was the what was the season with Noelle when people were like, yo, we need to get her out. You know, like these. Yeah, like I'm scared for her if she shares. Yeah. More than with this person. She has so much trust in, first of all. And and that's why I'm so interested to see how this relationship with her and Joe develops, because she may come to Joe and say like,
Starting point is 01:04:25 hey, I'm thinking about telling Q about this. And Joe actually might be like, maybe you shouldn't, right? Like, so I'm curious to see that now that she has this outside perspective in the game. I'm thinking how that might play out. Is there a world that we can think of right now that Joe flips the script and spill the beans? I don't think Joe's that type.
Starting point is 01:04:54 Is there a world we think that might happen? If it does happen, does that change our world? Yeah, I think so. I think maybe, yeah, that's the only way if even if they are trying to vote her out, right? What were you saying? What you like that's maybe to say, hey, hey, maybe if Joe finds someone that is like how she found Joe, a real connection. If Joe finds someone and that person is talking to him, hey, we think this, maybe if he shares this information gently to protect her, maybe there's a word with Josh. But I don't see him sharing it with any
Starting point is 01:05:31 malice. Right. Yeah. I don't see him like pushing on her either. Yeah. He don't seem like a creeper at all. Yeah, no. Unless he's the biggest villain they've ever cast and and we really don't know who he is after that first episode. Yeah that's sort of the yeah that's the balance with her is I am worried about if she shares with everybody everyone has that knowledge in mind like she's admits that she can't really tell when people are lying to her right and so you tell everybody that in the game with survivor they might not even do it maliciously, but people are going to be lying to you. And if you know that people know that they can lie to you, you won't know that would be a lot to
Starting point is 01:06:10 handle. But at the same time, like you said, with the like a noel situation, she has this element to her that if she gets the end, it would be an incredible story, people might be worried about that. But at the same time, I worry, you know, there could be a point where people might not know. And maybe they're like, well, Eve was not really, like, socially doing this or that. And then for her to be like, well, you know, here's the reason why that might help, you know, get people back on on side with her because obviously, if she's doing anything that's rubbing anyone the wrong way, it's not intentional. But then that opens up a whole can of worms. So I am worried. I hope she
Starting point is 01:06:48 can keep this with Joe for as long as possible, basically. Yeah. A dang on tribe swap. Well, I almost think a tribe swap could because I imagine what if she got with Mitch, right? Like, and I could see her and a Mitch winking up and maybe sharing something. And that could bond them together. Because also Mitch, if we could switch to that tribe, that tribe's hilarious. And I love Mitch. I think Mitch has like the right type of energy.
Starting point is 01:07:23 I want Mitch to, in my preseason, I want Mitch to cause chaos out there. And from what we've gotten in this first episode, I feel like Mitch could be stirring the pot. But I think one of my favorite characters over there is who's the big guy? David. Yeah. You can have this. David's personality is hilarious. And I think that we are just in for such a treat. Like I feel like when he filled out his application, he lied about nothing. When David said he liked compliments, he likes it was given like do y'all see me?
Starting point is 01:08:04 So I really like that tribe. I like Chrissy. I think Chrissy I had Chrissy pretty high as my winter pick and I feel like she is delivering what I thought that she would deliver. But she might be in trouble now. Says who? I think Charity is probably the most troubled. Charity. Okay. Okay. Okay. I'm sorry.
Starting point is 01:08:23 Chrissy is the older woman. Yeah, yeah, yeah. You got you got no Charity might be most trouble. Charity, charity, okay, okay, okay. The older woman. Yeah, yeah, yeah, you got it, you got it. No, the older woman might be in trouble. Agreed, agreed. I really like what we're seeing from, and the charity thing is surprising because even looking at fan polls preseason, she was a very common favorite to win or favorite to go far. But to that point, I love what Camila is doing. I wasn't the highest number going in the season. We were a little bit worried about her. But yeah,
Starting point is 01:08:55 she's starting the pot. She's running the bus over, reversing it, running it over again. And she's making those good connections with like a Kyle. You know, it seems like they just have so much in common. It's crazy that they have to kind of stick together. But she did that. She got the groundwork going. And then now she's using that art scheming and plotting a little bit. So I think Camila definitely had a great episode
Starting point is 01:09:22 this episode. Camila was my other second. Is that our cue of the season? Because- She's funny, man. Yeah, she had the energy. And I love the connection she made with Kyle, but I also love the fact that, again, Kyle seems,
Starting point is 01:09:41 he just comes off so genuine. And seeing the connections that he's making and how people are willing to protect him, for me just goes to show like he's very genuine. And again, reminds me of Caleb a little bit, kind of the same, a little different. Caleb is just like likable. You're just drawn to Caleb.
Starting point is 01:10:00 But I also think with Kyle, you're drawn to him and just his like genuine, his own like, he just seems like a good guy. And I think that's what differentiates him from Caleb. Caleb's not a good guy? No, I think Caleb came off as like, I'm super likable to everyone, almost as if it's almost a little secret.
Starting point is 01:10:21 Like, he's army, yeah. He was still being strategic. Yeah, yeah, yeah. And so when you say it like that though, like if Kyle could get it in shift like that, then he, I could see a way for Kyle. I'm just hoping that he performs, he starts performing a little better.
Starting point is 01:10:45 I'm not too worried about that. I'm not too worried about that. I'm not like the glass breaking that was just kind of an anomaly. That first challenge, that opening challenge was really tough. I mean, that Purple Tribe is stacked, but for like the other teams, like getting up that wall and you're all muddy and just like slippery that look really difficult. So I think Kyle will be good to go and he's athletic, but he also looks really sharp. So I think in these tribe challenges, he's going to be great with the agility, but also
Starting point is 01:11:17 maybe helpful when it comes to the more cerebral elements of the challenge. So I'm super high on Kyle. Yeah. I don't think you need to be too standoutish or too great at any challenges this early anyway. So I mean, yeah. Yes. Yeah. It's tough. The charity thing is so interesting to me
Starting point is 01:11:36 because I felt like this tribe had so many characters going in and that charity was going to be like a solid presence, an asset in the challenges. And to me, what she said to Camilla wasn't even that crazy. Like she just kind of threw out a little teaser about Kyle, obviously not knowing that Kyle and Camilla had become close, but do we think there was other stuff going on behind the scenes with charity?
Starting point is 01:11:58 Like why is she finding herself in such hot water so early on? I think this is the dilemma of a lot of new games, is that you don't throw a name out. Like you let the name come to you because you never know how connected someone is. And I also feel like I'm not mad at charity because it's like, well, let me just test the waters
Starting point is 01:12:20 and see if I could just flow the name out so it's not my name. And then you have now Camilla is connected to Kyle. We see they're like related. Their origin is connected. We haven't seen that on Survivor before. And so it's like now Camilla could be feeling the same way in the sense of like, I don't want it to be me and I don't want you to target one of my people. So now I got to go like, so is that sense of I feel like it's looking at the stars or like side go all in right? Because I feel like charity in this case is not looking at the stars, but making talk.
Starting point is 01:13:01 I don't know. I just feel like stars. Right. And Camila is at the water well. She's at the well. She drive. Yeah. Telling that you ain't doing.
Starting point is 01:13:23 Any standout players, anyone else that we didn't talk about that feel like worth mentioning? I just think episode one was more of that one that's like emotional, grab the attention. I think next week is when we'll start to see like, okay, this person can really go and stand out and make moves. I just think it's so early right now to even because I mean, you got to think when you don't lose, you're not shown as much. So we saw a lot of green, not enough
Starting point is 01:13:58 of the other two in my opinion. And losing, although it is bad, however, it builds your tribal council stamina up and for me makes you potentially a better choice to be a winner because you know what it's like to be in that heat. And so even though the purple pride might look so fat, if they never go to a tribal for a long time, they're not equipped with some skills that other people might have that have been there. So it is really interesting. Shaheen is exactly what I thought. I love his energy, love his personality. He's just another person that I feel like radiates on the screen. And
Starting point is 01:14:38 I'm excited to see how he connects. And again, I love the LA girlies. I think that Alliance is amazing. And I want to see how that is going to transcend because I almost want to say, I feel like the winner of this season could be a member of the California girlies. Yeah, I'm excited. I think it was a great start to this season. Yeah, I am. I'm worried for this green tribe though. I think they could be going to a lot of tribes. It's giving me yawn-oo too.
Starting point is 01:15:13 I'm telling you. Yeah. Well, we will have to tune in next week to see what episode two is given. I can't thank y'all enough for tuning in. Quinn Quinn Quintavious is always a pleasure to have you on our podcast screen. And hopefully you come back this season. Oh, we'll definitely see you in Chicago. Jack, you're first, all right. Oh, yeah. Nashville. Yes.
Starting point is 01:15:39 To me, Nashville first. The Chicago thing, you know, is I'm still working it out. OK, we're about to put you on a flyer, Q. Don't put me on that yet. Give me a week. You know, I got the baby boy at home. I got a wife situated to make sure she's cool with me leaving two times back and forth. You know how it go. I'm excited about it too.
Starting point is 01:16:00 I mean, we got Los Angeles coming up next week. You know, I'm going to be there. And we got to talk about that San Francisco too. And then I go. I'm excited that too. I mean, we got Los Angeles coming up next week. You know, I'm going to be there and we got to talk about that San Francisco too. And then I got my eyes on Austin too. And then who knows what the New York City finale like there's a lot of ones that might be popping out to so definitely. Baby boys next week. So very, very excited.
Starting point is 01:16:21 Super excited before we leave, though, I do Wendell and Q. We were together in New York City for the premiere with Jeff Probst. And it was so fun to see everybody and Jeff. But I think one of the most powerful moments for me was seeing Ace and Q and Wendell together. I thought that was a super dope, super fun. What's up?
Starting point is 01:16:46 That's BFFs in the making, okay? Me and Wendell gonna make sure them boys grow up doing something together. I thought it was really cool, man. I thought it was really special. I didn't know how special it would be until I started looking at those photos. I'm like, man, like they are gonna be friends.
Starting point is 01:17:03 They're gonna be like cousins, man. So yeah, that was great for Winnie to meet Ace, man. So I do have a question. If the phone rings, Blood versus Water, season 71, y'all up for the call, Ace and Q, Winnie a window? Hey, anything for Ace. Ace, you know, they call and it's about Ace wanting to go
Starting point is 01:17:26 and he just needs daddy to show up, I'm there. But also, maybe I just throw Emily in the mix and say, hey, you and Ace go do it. Because Emily, she's the survivor fan. So I won't hurt you. It's such a cute answer. Trust y'all. I'm gonna throw Emily in the mix.
Starting point is 01:17:43 Is Q scared of the Wendy's-y smoke? Oh. No, I'm not. But you know, you gotta spread the mix. Is Q scared of the Wendy's smoke? Oh, no, I'm not. But you know, you got to spread the love. But at that time, your window gonna be 99 years old. You were I like those. I like those BWP hats. I like that. Anyone? Well, all right. Well, listen, this been your survivor news for season forty-eight episode one. We'll see you next week. Thanks for listening. Peace. It's the purple pants. It's the purple
