Wendyzy, what is poppin' with you?
We out here, it's good to be back.
It's good to have this guest in the building.
We are fresh off of LA.
We were all in the building.
I'm sure we'll get to that.
Thank you for having me.
Yes.
Jackery, I felt like I seen you last night.
Then you ghosted me and now you're here again.
What's poppin' with you, Jack?
What's up?
No ghosting occurred last night,
just a little bit tired, had to get home,
had to wake up bright and early for work today.
But yeah, last night was a great time.
Excited to be here to recap the episode
that we all got to sort of watch together last night.
We got a great guest for it too, so great, great, great pop.
Yes, Wendyzy, I'm gonna need your help
introducing this guest,
because I was with this guest last night,
and this guest had to cuss me out a little bit, okay?
This guest had to let me know.
He was standing on business,
so I don't want no smoke on the pod.
So Wendyzy, can you do the honors?
Oh, ladies and gentlemen,
we would like to welcome to Survivor News,
one of the most memorable players the game has ever seen.
He might be not the largest in stature,
but he's the largest in effort and in gameplay and in
hypeness. He is from Survivor 47, the one and only Rome is in the building.
Thank you.
Thank you.
Thank you.
It's good to be here.
You know, I appreciate you guys having me on.
It's awesome.
I enjoyed listening to you guys all my season. And so now it's cool to be here. I appreciate you guys having me on. It's awesome. I enjoyed listening to you guys all my season.
And so now it's cool to be a part of one.
So it's gonna be great.
Yes.
Now, Ron, we got some things to discuss real quick
before we discuss other discussing.
Now, anything you wanna say to anybody
about the brand Tmoo?
Hey, listen, listen, man.
I seen that shot, man.
I seen that shot, okay.
I seen Wendell, Wendell, I seen it, man.
They said that I'm the Tmoo version.
They said I'm the Tmoo Q.
They said I'm the Tmoo Q.
Y'all said that, Wendell said that.
I seen you say that, man.
I seen you say that.
But listen, let me just say, let me just say.
Me and Q definitely both had big impacts on our seasons.
I lasted half the episodes.
I never asked to quit.
I, you know, I'm saying like, let's we really talk about it.
You know what I'm saying? I didn't ask to leave.
And people was like, no, we're keeping you around.
No, if I asked to leave ever, I was gone.
I was out of there. That wouldn't happen. Let's let's let's're keeping you around. No, if I asked to leave ever, I was gone. I was outta there.
That wouldn't happen.
Let's just get that straight, okay?
So, and we talk about the T-MU,
we talk about the T-MU Q,
but we had Q on last week, we seen those numbers.
So I know why y'all called me
because y'all had to boost it up a little bit.
You know what I'm saying?
We had to boost up a little bit.
Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait.
Now, Rome, the Purple Pants podcast
ain't gon' be taking no shots.
Listen, the YouTube numbers might not be high,
but Bae Bae, check them podcasts down, though.
Oh, ho, ho, ho, ho, ho.
Hey, listen, listen, man.
I'm just saying, I'ma bring it up for season 48.
I got y'all, for episode two, I got y up for season 48. I got y'all for episode two.
I got y'all, man, I got y'all.
Wow.
Everybody was all blast there, but he wasn't lying.
That was the podcast stimulus package.
Hey, blow my socks off.
Listen, man, I'm having fun, man.
I'm having fun out here.
And you know, it's time to have fun.
It's after my season, man.
I'm on a podcast.
I'm gonna have fun.
I'm gonna speak my mind, you know?
It's a hot spot.
Like, we've had two guests this season
and there's already beef between the guests.
I'm like, what are you gonna do?
I'm gonna have to keep my roll of it.
Crazy.
I gotta call James Chow.
Featuring Brandon Antz.
There's gonna be some real smoke.
Oh my gosh.
I mean, we had a lot of time
and we've done a lot of talking about Rome.
So he's finally here, he can represent himself
and I know he can hold his own.
So here we are, you know?
We gotta look the man in his eyes now, you know?
See, this is my home right here.
See, I'm an e-sports commentator.
I'm used to the mic in front of me,
the webcam talking right into the webcam.
You know what I'm saying?
I'm used to this, you know what I'm saying?
I was made for this.
So this is a little bit of my domain
that y'all walking into right now.
That's all I'm saying.
Oh, okay, listen. where in Rome's home?
Well, I am super excited now.
We are getting off super hot and I'm ready to get into this episode.
But last night, the BWP 48 pulled on into L.A.
in L.A. definitely did its thing.
The rain doesn't stop a Bryce and Wynn present event.
Okay, we still move, we still shake.
It was amazing, so much fun.
Rome was there, it was little, some puddles outside.
Rome had to jump over the puddles.
All right, we just go be roasted all night.
We just go be roasted all night.
It was a drop of water and Roman had to get a run in the star.
And Roman's like, I had to jump over that.
Jack and I just went.
It was like, whoop.
It's hard stuff.
But how did everyone enjoy the event?
What was it like for the event for everyone?
For me, seeing Philip Shepard in the building was just like the legend himself was crazy.
But love to hear what you, Roam, Jack, what y'all thought.
I mean, so my thoughts, like, honestly, last night was awesome, even though, like, you know,
it was a little a little bit loud in the building, loud in the building. That's what happens when you get
so many passionate Survivor fans,
is that with also so many alumni,
and there was amazing race people there,
and just so many people in the CBS family,
big brother people there.
And anytime you get that many people together,
it's gonna be rowdy.
And it was fun, man, it was great.
We got to see a couple of the 48ers
that were in the building too, they popped out. You never know who's gonna show And it was fun, man. It was great. We got to got to see a couple of 48ers that were in the building to
they popped out. You never know who's going to show up to to
these events, man. And that's a that's the great thing about
these Bryson Wendell is like you said, Philip Shepard came out
like I was like, what in the world? Philip Shepard, I got to
take a picture immediately, man. Like that dude is an absolute
legend. You know what I'm saying? People forget that he
got second place, man. He got set by people forget that man,
the dude was a character, but guess what?
He was still able to make it to the end.
So, you know, big props to him, him for coming out and showing love.
There was there was Caleb out there.
There was there was there was Tiffany to showed up.
There was there's so many people that just just popped out.
That's that's exactly what you want to see.
So I appreciate you guys and what you guys do for the community,
because it's honestly it's honestly amazing all these events.
If you haven't went to one yet,
telling you it's worth going to,
I don't care if you got to book a flight to go there,
if you like, okay, one's one city over,
look for the cheapest flight out of all of the ones left
and be like, look, I'm gonna go to that one
because trust me, if you haven't been,
they're worth going.
It's an incredible thing and it's something you're gonna have,
it's a memory you're gonna have
for the rest of your life, I promise.
Okay, when do we clip in that?
That's how I do promo, tour 49, okay.
Yeah.
I mean, I had a great time too.
Rome said it all, but it's great.
You always see some old friends,
but you also make some new friends.
And obviously seeing everyone from the community
was excellent.
So many interesting characters popping up.
And it was a new venue, some technical difficulties.
But here's the thing I like about a Bryce and when sometimes you might not catch
the whole you might get caught up.
You might be grabbing a drink with somebody you might.
But then the episode is like a little teaser.
You go home the next day.
It's like you get to watch it again.
Fresh perspective.
So it's really like a two for one, if you think about it.
So it was really the best way to clean that one up.
Jackery, we will use the room. We will.
Yes, we will take we will take the room.
But nevertheless, L.A.
definitely deliver and the BWP Tour 48 continues next week.
We will be in San Francisco continuing our tour on the West Coast.
And let's be clear, the sound, the everything will be right in San Francisco.
And then the following week, we will be in Nashville.
We've got some amazing people coming out to all of the cities.
You know, my man, my man, Austin said you want to West Coast.
I'm popping out with you. We got the queen of traders. Diego, Jalinski, Franny is going to be amazing.
And oh, if you did not know Rome and Nashville,
Quinn, Quinn, Quinn, Quinn, Quinn,
Quintavious will be there.
So, you know, I'm just.
Okay.
Okay.
And we have so many more stops.
And if you don't want to miss out, go to BryceandWin.com
and get your tickets and we will see you on the road.
Listen, we have such an interesting episode.
We've got the commentator himself, Rome here.
Jack, this episode, I text you earlier.
No spoilers because we're on the same coast and it was Thursday.
So I text Jack and I said, Jack,
I cannot wait to hear what you have to say.
Also want to shout out to the Jack Shack
that was in the building yesterday.
Someone came up to me and was like,
I'm a part of the posse.
Look around, he said, I am the Jack Shack.
I don't even.
You told me that.
Some people came up to me and showed love,
but whoever said that to you didn't announce that they,
you know, going forward, guys, if you're in the Jack Jack,
you got an honorary VIP meet and greet, whatever.
You say, I'll buy you a drink,
when it just, just say you're in the Jack Jack,
you're gonna make my day, all right?
So just know that, but thank you guys for showing up.
Nice sight, didn't mean that.
No, no.
Well, and also listen, I'll be reading it.
I wanna check.
What's up?
I wanna check.
A check?
Oh yeah.
You're not familiar with that on your shelf, Wendell.
It's the Wendell.
No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no,
no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, You had a name, I forget this.
It's all good.
We all forget it too, Wendell.
It's all good.
We all forget.
It's okay.
Whoever you can fit under the.
Whoa!
Oh my bad, Rome, that's right.
It was a bunch of millionaires on that island.
You're right, you're right, you're right.
I'm sure it was a great time.
I'm sure it was a great time. I had to throw it in.
My bad.
It's all.
I know what it's called.
I know what it's called.
A one for a one for whoever wants to get in under the one for the one.
The winds.
It's not what it is.
A funny story, though, real quick.
Bradley from Ghost Island was in the building yesterday.
Shout out to Bradley.
You know, I love Bradley and the venue that we were at
wanted to play some survivor seasons on different TVs before the episode came on.
And Bradley walks in.
before the episode came on and Bradley walks in. It's literally his vote out episode.
He's like, what type of welcoming surprise is this?
But then I walk away.
I come back 15 minutes later,
Bradley has set up shop at the bar and is like,
you know, I've never actually seen this episode in its entirety.
And he's watching his boot out of Ghost Island.
So that was kind of crazy.
And so I heard him telling fans that he was on the new season.
That's what that's what it was.
Not the talent of badly.
I like badly. But it was funny.
I walked in and saw like what the Stephanie boot or whatever.
I was like,
so what year is it?
Did we go through a time machine?
I was like, this season sucks.
And listen, listen, as much as much flack as Ghost Island may have gotten.
In all seriousness, when I did my binge, like my super binge of all the seasons,
Ghost Island was one that stuck out to me.
Like I really thought that that was a really good season.
Like, so I was kind of surprised once like, you know,
after I started getting into the reddits
and things like that, that people were like,
oh, they didn't have the season that high ranking.
And I was like, I don't know why.
Like I thought it was,
I thought it was really cool through and through.
I thought it had a cool duo that made it all the way
to the end.
It had the first ever straight up tie at the end.
I'm like, how did y'all not like it?
Personally, that's just my thought, but you know.
You know what?
Well, thank you, Rome.
All right, so y'all let me make some.
Okay, cause.
You are the Louis Vuitton version of Q.
Okay, thank you very much.
You are the Gucci version of Q.
Okay, you are.
Thank you. Thank you, Rome. You know what? version of Q. OK, you are. Thank you.
Now, you know, all right. Now, let me.
Q is gone. We we got to give Rome a nickname
because this room right here, this is like this.
This is Jerome. OK, we got to jump home with us.
Well, can I ask Jerome a question real quick
since we talk about Zyler?
Oh yeah, yeah.
Who you thought should have won?
In the moment, I thought Dom was gonna win.
In the moment, I thought Dom was gonna win.
I didn't really know who I thought should have won
because I felt like they did everything together.
So like, also I thought the Windows fire making
kind of put him like a little bit more even like because at first I was like, okay
I think Dom's gonna get it with the wind then once window one fire make and I was like
Okay, it could go either way now because they like the way window wanted when he was putting them sticks down
I still remember he just looking over while putting them sticks down with the straight face. I'm like nah, this dude got it
I was like window my windows thing and it ended up being a tie
So and you know, that early game connection
that he was able to make early on in the game
ended up being the vote that he needed to win the million.
So yeah, props to the props to Wendell, you know?
Jack, don't the fans, for season 50,
didn't Jeff say like, we'd be able to vote for the fire?
Don't the fans not like the fire making challenge?
I would say the fans that kind of are, you know, the super fans, I would say, I think
they're against the fire making.
But you know, the casual fan out in, you know, wherever the middle of nowhere, I like the
fire.
I like it. I vote to keep fire making.
Like it makes sense.
I think that the only reason why the quote unquote diehard fans
don't like fire making is because of the season it was introduced
and like at the time and it wasn't announced to the players beforehand.
So when like everyone thought Ben was going home when he had the letter upside down,
everyone was like, oh, my goodness, yeah, Ben's going home
because they were rooting against him.
And then, boom, it's actually
firemaking that night instead. So I think a lot of people were
more just upset as how it was introduced, rather than upset at
what firemaking actually is. So that's, that's my thing.
I do think that's a knock against it. I do have other
gripes with the firemaking challenge. I don't know if we
want to get into all that right now. Maybe that's something we
save for later. But I think there's other flaws with the
firemaking challenge, but it's not as bad
as... I could go either way, but I prefer no firemaking. Because the nice thing is, when there's
no firemaking challenge, but then there's a tie, it feels like the firemaking challenge, the drama
is so much more intense because there was a tie, it's unexpected. And I also think just to quickly
make... If you have an idol or whatever, you can play an idol at five, you can make fire at four.
There's no opportunity for you to actually get voted out.
There's no there's no need to play survivor after six if you have an idol.
So I think it would be nice to see people like maneuver a little bit more.
And I also think it was introduced to help bigger threats make it to the end.
But now it's more important to take bigger threats out it to the end, but now it's more important
to take bigger threats out earlier, I think, which is actually a little bit counterproductive.
So anyways, yeah, my suggestion that I have is that at the final four, the final four
immunity, the immunity necklace can be used as an immunity idol for that night.
So essentially, you can play it on somebody after the votes are cast.
So essentially it makes it where
that last immunity matters a ton.
Because if you know everyone's voting for one person,
you can say, nope, after the votes are cast
and put that necklace around them
and be like, they're actually safe tonight.
And you voted somewhere else
and that person's actually going home now
and you just set up your final three how you want.
I think that that would be interesting
if they are gonna remove fire making, I think that they need to replace something want. I think that that would be interesting if they are going to remove fire making.
I think that they need to replace something else.
And I think that would be a good replacement.
I'm not mad at that, Rom.
I'm not mad at that.
Neither am I.
I agree with that, Rom, because I always feel as though you should be able to play that
individual immunity like an idol.
But now listen, we're here for season 48.
Okay.
And listen, our fans are very active in the comments.
They will be like, y'all talking too much,
because listen, they tell me to shut up, okay?
I know it's Bryce's podcast,
but he talked too much, I read the comment.
Okay, I agree.
Jack, what's up?
That's a loud minority that's speaking.
That's not the majority belief, Bryce.
People like you will lead in the way.
Majority see a super long podcast and are hyped, okay Bryce?
You good to go, you good.
I'm a silent majority.

But you're right, Bryce,
but I hope people can appreciate the survivor 58,
you know, vote talk a little bit,
but Bryce talking survivor 48,
before we get into the actual episode,
I see about half of your shirt
and I'm very curious as to what's going on.
We got the Mary merch.
Can you walk us through it a little bit?
I believe it is Mother Mary.
And you know, I support my Mother Mary's mission.
And so I support the cast.
I love to buy the shirts.
And Mary is currently living in Philly
and Philadelphia equals one
and Saquon we trust. So listen, I'm with mother Mary. Okay. What does Saquon have to do with
Mary? What does it say on your shirt, Bryce? I support Mary. What does it say? And I am
here because I love Mary and I support the merch. Now let's keep the podcast rolling.
So Bryce, I'm curious.
We'll let the Mother Mary's missionaries slide for now.
But you did text me that there was a specific moment
that you really wanted to talk about.
And so I feel like what better way to kick things off
than whatever really stuck out to you.
I, okay.
And we got Rome here.
So this is great.
So I was getting flashbacks of Kageon and I'm going to be honest, seeing star this episode,
I felt for star a lot.
It seemed like from the edit in which we got,
seemed like nobody was bonding with Star.
Star sees people going off and Star is left by themselves.
And so like, if you left by themselves,
what you supposed to do, Rome?
Look for items.
Right, and so Star does that
because she needs to defend herself.
And then it just I felt like it was just things happening to Star.
I felt like in that situation, I've been there.
And then I also just then kind of felt like some mismanaging of the game
kind of sort of happened with Star in telling everybody and everybody telling everybody.
And so I just I don't know that star moment just really stuck out for me
because I really kind of empathize with her
in the sense of like, you're cool with people,
clearly people are talking,
but it just seems like stars being othered a little bit
and not by anyone's fault or anything.
It just kind of is happening that way,
but I just felt for star.
Yeah, I mean, I feel the same way watching it.
Like it was, it was tough.
Like even, even at the start, like first thing,
obviously when you're out there, you wake up,
you're pretty much just waiting for Tremail.
You know what I'm saying?
You're always checking it.
So like, I'm sure they check Tremail.
Then that's, that's when they started talking
about the challenge.
Cause the Tremail said it was going to be water,
like running, like diving in whatever.
So, so when Eva, Eva started saying, we need Joe and she and me for strength like we
need Thomas and Bianca for a puzzle and star you can sit out which I thought was
a wild thing to to do is throw out someone's name like directly like and be
like you should sit out because that's essentially saying we think you're weak
at puzzles we think that you're weak at puzzles. We think
that you're weak physically. We also think that like yeah,
that's just like we think that we're also better at those
things than you not just that you're bad, but we're better
even if we're not great at it. We think like so that whole
thing threw me off. So that was that was what what threw me off
and so star had every right to be upset upset and had every right to tell every single person
about her advantage except for Eva.
Because like, are you kidding me?
Like, if you just tell me I'm the one that can sit out
and I find an advantage,
you think I'm gonna tell you first?
Like, no, she told literally everyone but her.
So like, it made sense as to why Star
tried to get these alliances that way.
I also just want to comment,
I know Eva has shared with us that
sometimes social cues are hard for her to read.
And here's the thing, Eva,
I mean, it made for great TV, right?
It was interesting enough telling somebody to they face
because it's not like shade, but it's like
you can't say she's running behind her back. So it's interesting how that kind of plays
itself because Headstar said something to Eva, then maybe they could have worked it
out. But like watching it is just like, oh, but that's the thing. There's never a need to talk about who's
sitting out before you even see the challenge. Like who cares
about a description? Like if you haven't seen the challenge, you
don't know what's at the end. They talked about puzzles.
There was no puzzle there. It was basketball at the end. And
guess what star plays basketball. So why are we sitting
here talking about like, who should be sitting out and doing
what and things like that now has star conveyed that she's
not comfortable in the water. I know that star just learned how
to swim recently. So that she might have conveyed that to her
tribe, and we didn't see that. So that might be why Eva's like,
oh, if it's a water challenge, you've already let us know that
you're not comfortable in the water, you just learned to swim.
So you can sit out, you know what I'm saying? Like, and so it
might have been a lighthearted thing on Eva's end, but it could
easily be taken the wrong way,
taken out of context.
It could easily, yeah, it could easily go the wrong way.
And for Star to at least just take it as like,
don't tell me what to do.
I think that that was about as good as Star
could have probably taken it, so yeah.
Well, I feel like that's what we've picked up on.
Eva is probably the person that's most aware of how this might be a detriment to her because I think it's a clear example of,
you know, didn't phrase it the right way. Didn't really read the room, of course. And
that's something she called out as being a struggle for her. And so, I mean, I'm with
you. I think Star had the right interpretation too. And I think that this is going to be
something we're going to have to watch, you know, the highs and lows of what Eva is going to be doing in the game. And it's, I mean,
it's good for Eva. She's got some close people too now, but Bryce, I hear you like, Star hasn't
really done anything wrong. I'm glad she went out and got the beware advantage. It just feels like
it was, it's sort of, and I, people talked about this last week, just sort of by merit of these immediately like weirdly close duos that form between Joe and Eva, between Bianca
and Thomas.
I mean, to be fair, Joe and Eva, that's a pretty unexpected duo.
That's not just like two people that are super similar, just being like,
I mean, but I mean, a father daughter, I mean, yeah, I was about to say it's the youngest
person, the youngest girl in the tribe and the oldest guy on the tribe. So it's the easy father daughter. I mean, yeah, I was about to say it's the youngest person,
the youngest girl in the tribe and the oldest guy on the tribe.
So it's the easy father daughter dynamic.
Like so it's that's definitely something that you'd look for out there.
Like that definitely makes sense.
I suppose that doesn't always happen, but it doesn't always.
Yeah, I hear you.
I've obviously Bianca and Thomas, pretty similar individuals.
And it starts. I really like Shaheen talking through this dilemma of
helping Star with the beware advantage here because now it's sort of like Shaheen's like could Star be
my sneaky duo and I don't want to, you know, Star is coming to me with information. I don't want to
necessarily just hand her the clue to it, like the secret to unlocking this. I don't want to sabotage her necessarily. So I like that Shaheen's like,
let me leave the option open, but not lock it in for her.
Right.
Now, can we talk real quick about Killa Thomas?
Now, listen, I have a dilemma because it's like,
why you wanna do my girl like that?
Don't do Star like that. And the other part because it's like, why you wanna do my girl like that? Don't do, don't do star like that.
And the other part of me is like,
oh, you like, you's a killer and I like it.
That like, oh, like I, sorry, I just, sorry,
because I feel like sometimes as a gay man,
they think like that gays don't wanna come out there and play, but Thomas said,
or maybe we can just make it disappear.
I was like, oh.
Mafia shit.
Like that scared the hell out of me.
And I loved every second of it, even though I hated it.
But I was like, yo, Thomas is, he playing.
But I'm like, Thomas was playing so much,
he scared Shaheen.
Thomas was like, just get rid of it, nobody would know.
Shaheen was like, oh, wait, okay.
I don't, like, and I am nervous now because it's like,
Like, and I am nervous now because it's like,
Shaheen now knows that Thomas is a killer. And, but like, that was just so unexpected though.
Like, what did y'all think when that happened?
Like, I thought Thomas was going to be like,
we can just not, we don't have to help her.
We can pretend like, Thomas was like, get rid of that.
I was like.
I was like.
I was like.
I was like.
I was like.
I was like.
So listen, I understand both sides of the coin, right?
I understand Thomas's point of view.
I didn't know any of this.
Now I'm getting all this information within the hour
and you telling me the star doesn't have a vote.
She's not in our alliance
and she can't play her shot in the dark.
Okay, cool.
Lose it.
What?
We're good.
What we need to help her for.
Like I finished her.
I get in the moment thought process.
Right.
But Shaheen, he's sitting there thinking, I don't want to fight against the power.
I'd rather work with the power because guess what?
The game just started.
Why do people have a need all of a sudden in this new era to just go against the power instead of wanting
to work with it?
I don't understand it.
If somebody has the power,
why do people instantly try to fight it
instead of work with it when the person in power
wants to work with them?
Why do people try to turn on the-
Are you speaking from personal experience, bro?
I don't get, I'm speaking from recent seasons.
That's what I'm saying.
That's what I'm saying.
It just happens too often.
People do it so early in the game and I don't understand it. Like I don't get it.
But sometimes I feel like it like I feel that wrong. But I also feel like there is the sense
of if you go with if you go with the power for too long, then it's too powerful. And in this new era,
who's to say what is too long? Like, I don't know. It's day five.
Listen, they say in the all 26 seasons, day five is like week three.
Not true. No, no, no.
It ain't like that. It ain't like that.
And somebody that won zero food rewards and and didn't eat anything
my entire time out there except for the fish that I caught.
Yeah, it was,
it's definitely not as,
I'll say in my opinion,
is not as bad as some people complain it to be the starving.
So yeah, I lost 28 pounds in 12 days.
So-
How much fish did you catch, bro?
Caught 13 fish.
13.
They may have been small, but guess what?
The smaller they are, the harder it is to hit them, right?
So that's almost more impressive.
You know what I'm saying?
So you call it goldfish.
I've never heard that.
Wait, what?
The smaller they are, what?
I've never heard that before, Rome.
I know.
The smaller they are.
They're the Rewind today.
They're the Rewind today.
No, my hotel wifi is like spotty, spotty.
What did you say?
The smaller the fish are in the sea,
you know what I'm saying?
The harder it is to catch them,
especially with the Hawaiian Sling, you know.
Whoa.
Okay.
Well, let me, let me, let me.
Why is the television screen to all the fish in the sea?
Speaking of fish in the sea,
I don't know if y'all saw the secret scene from this week.
Were you guys able to see that yet or no?
I haven't.
So the secret scene was a certain someone
with fishing gear fishing.
So I don't know if y'all have seen that,
but y'all can go check that out.
Did somebody say fishing gear?
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
I was so silly.
Yo, I had something to say, but I forgot it.
I'll say that I love this killer.
This is the type of villain, Thomas is the type of like
villain that I love, cause he's hilarious.
He's super nice, but like he will clearly cut throats.
I'm a little nervous cause obviously he shows that killer
instinct episode too.
Now I think Shaheen might similarly have that in him though.
So it could lead to a very devious duo.
But I am a little nervous, like Thomas did that.
He also ultimately lies about getting an advantage
at the journey, which I don't think is a bad move.
I love Thomas' mindset of keep the advantage to yourself,
but I think eventually that's gonna come to light,
because there's gonna be other people that were on the
journey that were like, oh, we had to play.
So Thomas, and then it's like, oh, things might catch up to Thomas, but I like the, the, the
diabolical way that he's playing the game. It's so funny. So
funny too. And then I agree, like it's easy for Thomas to be
like, let's get rid of the advantage. But if you're Shaheen
and you lose the advantage, the best case scenarios is stars
gonna be like, what the hell are you just lost lost your home. That's the best case like stars
at best is just pissed that you lost it. At worst, never trust
you again. So I think Shaheen played everything the right way,
which was really nice.
I agree. I was really impressed with Shaheen this episode, you
know, the fact that he didn't just immediately be like, yeah,
let's, let's get rid of it. Like, let's do it. Like he thought about it.
And he was like, no, that's, that's, that's, that's a little
too devious, even even for like, you know, for I guess he, you
know, he thought that, you know, from what it sounded like in the
confessional, he thought that he was gonna, you know, be able to
make, make these devious moves and things like that. But he
already realized, like, this is a little bit too devious for me
is for me. So I can respect that from gene.
In that case, all the blood is on his hands.
Not necessarily,
because it could be a little bit of Joe as well,
because it like don't put it.
But he loses his head.
Oh, yeah, well, yeah.
It's a piece of paper, yeah, if he loses that.
I also feel like a good,
because you know, Thomas is gay, I'm gay, so we think alike.
I was thinking like Shaheen could say that
he put it in his pocket and went swimming
and like it deteriorated, but you know.
That's not how to add.
I'm gonna be like,
pull that soggy piece of paper out of your pouch.
Come get it.
That's a better idea than just coming straight for it.
Yeah.
Right.
And another thing-
Because then you pull it out in shorts, you're like.
Ugh.
Ugh.
Right.
Another interesting thing though,
it was interesting when Star went to Joe, and then we see Joe
kind of like having this reflection moment about like all of these relationships and
what it's weighing on him like with like having Eva, then meeting with Star, then he's got
these other people, and he's like, he says what a lot of alums say that you go in the
survivor wanting to play, but then you make these relationships and then it complicates it
because you're dealing with real people.
But ultimately I feel like in that montage,
Joe was like, he's riding for Eva, period.
So, not really much.
And it's like, it's going to put Joe in a tough position,
but it's the classic, like if anyone else is in Joe's shoes
and people come to you with info or like deals,
you're not going to be like, no, you know what I mean?
But you play so well, you play yourself into a position that you have to have to stab someone
in the back.
So like how I see it is Joe played himself into a corner.
Like that's how I see the situation by him telling Eva and also being aligned with everyone
else, including Star, who told him about the Beware advantage.
Now, if Star, from what it sounds like,
Shaheen's gonna help or he's not trying to sabotage it.
So eventually, like he said, she will get it open, right?
He said, like, it's not that difficult
based on how Shaheen was saying it.
So if Star gets that idol, if they gotta go to tribal,
guess what?
Star's not going home.
Based off how she's feeling right now,
she's probably gonna play it on herself.
And then now Joe either has to
get rid of somebody he's trying to work with like immediately.
Like Joe has zero outs right here.
If Star is Star gets that idol and plays it as the first tribal,
he's going to lose somebody he wants to work with.
So right now, I think.
I mean, does he want to work with Bianca?
That's really we haven't seen anything.
I'm not an option, but like, look, it makes it rocky when right away.
Here's the thing.
I also don't think Loggies really do for a tribal anytime soon.
It obviously makes it rocky when you got to cut someone you want to work with.
But at the same time, I think that's a really good problem to have in Survivor if you want
to work with everybody so much in your group that it's difficult to have to get rid of
someone right.
You'd rather have to get rid of someone right you'd rather have to get rid
of a potential ally than just have a bunch of enemies but i agree with you joe's in a tough
spot it's going to be interesting to see how he navigates it yeah uh can we talk about something
very i missed on the watch but i caught on the rewatch. What is it?
It's not one, it's not dos, it's not tres,
but it's cinco. Uno, dos, tres, hold on wait.
Uno, dos, tres, cinco.
Six.
No.
It's anyway.
Uno, dos, tres.
Quatro? There you go. Oh, okay, two, three. Quattro?
There you go.
Okay, quattro.
I mean, the good Lord has blessed David
with not only height, not only hair,
not only muscles, okay?
And allegedly in my mind, I was dreaming
that I was walking into a venue and my feet got light
from being in a puddle and I was carried in
to a watch party, but that was in my dreams.
But not only is David have one nipple,
he's got two nipples, he's got three nipples.
I mean, it's just a party on David's chest.
It is my quinceeta, okay?
Everything about what you just said was just terrible.
I'm sorry.
Yeah, also, I don't know if you should be talking about nipples at the Kitsun Yara.
I'll be asking you to talk about you got puddles in your dreams like Bryce, you got to chill.
The GACO show before, you know what I mean?
Now, so why is that?
That's something that these are supposed to be humble traits,
Bryce.
You, you're a, I don't even want to ask.
You're a fan of a couple extra nipples.
Like, that's a little bit weird.
More to the party.
Okay.
Shame on his parents for having him removed.
Not only does he have one, but he has single.
I think you can take that.
Did you count a belly bunny?
I mean, he has two.
Now, Chrissy.
I've never seen a belly bunny that I like.
Now, okay, off topic, random.
Now, by show, be honest, by show of hands,
have you ever like clinked your belly button
with like your hand and then be like, like what?
No, Bryce.
I've cleaned it, but I haven't sniffed it. That's such a Bryce Isaiah thing. No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no,
no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no,
no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no,
no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no,
no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, What does the back of your ear smell like? I don't know. It kind of almost smells similar to like your belly button.
So you've compared the two within a time frame
to recognize the difference between the belly button smell
and back of the ear smell.
Okay, Mike.
Right, so we'll hit both at once and then.
Boom.
Boom, I am a little weird in the sense that like,
I have to know what things smell like.
I know it's like very weird, but like,
I have to like categorize stuff.
Okay.
All right.
So what do we think about these humble traits?
Like overall, like, so we had,
we had David with the four nipples.
We had Charity with the feet.
We had Chrissy with the deep belly button.
We had Kyle with the war nipples, we had Charity with the feet, we had Chrissy with
the deep belly button, we had Kyle with the wart on his finger, with the, well, I guess, what'd he
say? He said it was, what'd he say? Kyle is a callous. And then I like Mitch just being like,
I like Mitch just being like, well, it's pretty obvious.
I thought that was fun.
Some were more humble than others.
Also, I felt it was kind of weird that Cherry was like, one of my feet is nice, but the other looks,
I'm like, they're usually pretty identical.
But yeah, I don't know.
I don't really need the foot cam on Survivors.
They've been working that into the edit a lot.
Did Camilla have a humble trait?
I forgot if she mentioned one.
Or if it kind of just ended with Kyle talking about.
I don't remember hers.
Yeah, I don't remember it either.
I don't know if she mentioned one.
But what are your guys's humble traits?
Let's talk about it.
Bryce, go first.
Oh, my humble traits, like I have,
I have a really big birthmark.
Okay, what is it?
It's like the shape of Africa on my back.
Okay.
Got it.
Have we, did we see it on Survivor?
Is it ever like, was it ever visible on Survivor?
I mean, I, they only showed me twice.
Wasn't a lot of footage to go over, right?
Wasn't a lot of footage.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah. Not a lot. Okay, what about you, Wendell? What about you, man? I'm not gonna lie. I'm not gonna lie. I'm not gonna lie. I'm not gonna lie. I'm not gonna lie. I'm not gonna lie.
I'm not gonna lie.
I'm not gonna lie.
Okay, what about you, Wendell?
What about you, Wendell?
The beauty chaps saw and they were like,
where's Africa?
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Um, I don't know what mine is yet.
Okay.
I'll say my height.
I'll say my height. I'll say my height.
You know?
What is your height?
I like five, nine on a good day, you know?
What about on a bad day?
On a bad day, we were talking about those days.
On a normal day.
Is that why you wore the lightning hoodie?
Cause it like extended the body? It like makes you look longer.
Oh yeah, yeah.
Gotta avoid wearing all black so I don't look tiny.
You know what I'm saying?
Like I gotta avoid.
I'm saying.
They picked one but they thought he was a pencil.
It's like that one.
I'm sorry.
I'm sorry.
I'm sorry.
I'm sorry.
I'm sorry.
I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm sorry.
I'm sorry.
I'm sorry.
I'm sorry.
I'm sorry.
I'm sorry.
I'm sorry.
I'm sorry.
I'm sorry.
I'm sorry.
I'm sorry.
I'm sorry.
I'm sorry.
I'm sorry.
I'm sorry.
I'm sorry.
I'm sorry.
I'm sorry.
I'm sorry.
I'm sorry.
I'm sorry.
I'm sorry.
I'm sorry.
I'm sorry.
I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm sorry up my facial hair. I'll say, and that that limits my options.
Very specific.
They say you need to eat more watermelon.
All right.
Yes, that's like a remedy.
For just for patchiness. Because I could grow it like a remedy. For just, for patchiness.
Cause I could grow it like,
and then I could grow it. The thing is I can grow it here too.
And it's just like, why is there a little?
You need to grow it and rock the comb over.
The comb over beard.
I've done that before.
Okay, I had a hole in my beard somewhere
and I had to like,
roam the commentator, do your thing.
Wendell, is that your humble trait?
Yeah, yeah, now that you're telling me that,
I just don't remember where it was,
but I had a hole in my beard.
So Wendell's humble trait is he one time had a hole
in his beard 10 years ago. Wendell's humble tray is he one time had a hole in his beard. 10 years ago.
When you win a million dollars, there ain't a lot of humble traits. You know what I'm
saying? It's a telltale sign when you ask and someone's like, I can't think of one.
Right, right. Oh man. But yeah, back to the episode because you know what I'm saying,
the viewers, the few and far between
that want us to move this thing along.
Let's talk about the journey.
Now, now, now, now, now, now, now, now, now, now, now,
No, we were talking about the small group, the small,
hold on, hold on, I was referring to the small group
that wants us to skip ahead and keep it pushing
and things like that. I'm saying that's what I'm talking about. We're talking about the loud commenters, that's what I was referring to the small group that wants us to skip ahead and keep it pushing and things like that.
I'm saying that's what I'm talking about.
We're talking about the loud commenters.
That's what I was referring to.
That's what we were talking about earlier.
On that note, I remember on our draft,
I'm gonna say this.
Someone was like, someone with a weird ass,
with a name that was like a thousand different letters
and numbers was like, Bryce, you suck.
Your takes are total.
Basically, but I gotta say,
the Kevin third boot call, not far off.
So, Bryce, I gotta give you some credit there.
Wow.
Thank you.
Gotta give him credit.
Okay. Appreciate it.
You weren't too high on Kevin coming in?
No, I was, but I felt like Kevin, like he was so likable
and I didn't know if it would last.
And unfortunately I was right, but being a early boot
is a badge of honor.
So no, he wasn't too high on him coming in.
Yeah, yeah.
No, that-
Well, he predicted he would be,
we all chose two options for a potential third boot,
two people that might be a potential merge boot
and one potential winner.
And Bryce had Kevin and Kyle as third boots,
which in the moment was a little bit shocking,
but I mean, so far Kevin's the closest one.
None of us had picked Stephanie for anything.
So we'll see next week though, cause that's the real third boot. And maybe one of us will picked Stephanie for anything. So we'll see next week though,
cause that's the real third boot.
And maybe one of us will hit that one too.
Can we talk about the journey, the journey real quick
and how they were told the game to play
to decide who goes out there.
I thought that that was really, really interesting
how they got told, all right, everyone on the count of three
everyone holds out fingers one through five.
And I thought that the reason this was so interesting
was because, do you guys own the Survivor board game?
No.
I do.
You do?
Okay, okay, have you guys played it yet?
Have you guys been able to play it?
I played a little bit with James Jones,
but like, it was James Jones,
so like he was arguing with, it was.
This is one of the games.
This is one of the games in the board game.
So I thought it was cool.
I thought it was cool that they have you do something
that's in the board game, in the survivor board game,
in the actual game of survivor.
That way it like, it brings a little more validity to it.
Also right after they got Jeff with the promo holding the board game up,
I was like, wow, this was that was so well planned like to do that.
Here we go.
Okay, that's that's incredible, because with us, it was just figure out who's going.
And we just rock, paper, scissors it up a bunch of times.
So, yeah, I thought that was that was really cool.
I was going to say, tell me your thoughts on this little
finger throwing challenge.
What if you if you guys were out there, what you you probably have a minute
to think through a little strategy.
What do you Rome started us off?
OK, so I was listen when I saw this, when I saw this, I was like,
this is the this is the easiest game to rig in the world,
like the easiest one in the world.
You have an alliance of four.
Everyone just throw numbers one through four.
Guaranteed one of your people in the alliance is going no matter what.
Literally, no matter what Mary throws, you just throw one through four,
which are lions and one of y'all is going.
It's that simple.
Had the opportunity to like conspire about that.
I mean, I was thinking the same thing, but you don't need to conspire.
You can tell Mary to her face.
We're all throwing one through four.
It don't matter what you throw. You're not going.
You see, though, and don't matter what you throw. You're not going. You're she throwing one.
Rome, Rome, you were, you were known to. Yeah, you strong arms. Why you're telling them to
strong arm Mary. Listen, the same way that say was it tribal council saying, look, if
you go home, why do we got to be around the bush? Why do we got to act like we ain't an
alliance? If you about to leave us, it's the same thing.
We're in the same.
You're not a good survivor strategy.
But they tried to do it, though.
They tried to do it and they didn't allow it because I also kind of felt like
even though they're with say, I don't think they wanted say to go.
Say tried to roam her way there.
Now, I she did. Now, I, she did.
Hey, hey, I made my way to my journey.
Okay, I won.
I won my rock paper scissors tournament.
Okay.
What do you mean that was a practice round?
Right, right.
My two things though.
I also thought the way the cards read,
I thought that maybe each tribe could determine,
could decipher what it meant, right?
Because like me, I would be up there like,
let's all do it.
One, everyone, okay?
One, two, three, then put your number out.
One, two, three.
That's a...
Okay, then I'd be like, this is zero.
You gotta do one through five.
Yeah, you gotta do one through five.
Oh, I wait.
No, I won.
Yeah, so it's a window on.
That was the practice one.
Okay.
I thought Bryce was gonna try to be like, and then just wait until he would be like,
no, I didn't, right?
So I just, I didn't write.
So I just, I thought there might've been
different interpretations, but I want to do it again
one more time.
All right.
One, two, three.
Y'all, you're delaying.
You did so jack with a one.
There we go.
Here's the thing.
Here's the thing about this challenge is,
well, so there's a couple of people where, here's the thing. It's the thing about this challenge is, well, so there's a couple of
people where here's the thing, if it's a tribe of five or six, no number above three can
ever win.
And so anyone who's throwing above three either doesn't want to go or you didn't realize how
the challenge exactly works, which granted it was a quick turnaround. But just numbers wise,
if there's six of you and say two people throw one, two people throw two, but then if one person
throws three, then the one person wins. And obviously that different combinations of that.
But I don't mind if you just don't want to go be like, all right, four it is, like I'm going to
stay home and chill. But that was interesting too. I do think the strategy is usually just to throw
one because I think everyone's going to be like do think the strategy is usually just to throw one
because I think everyone's going to be like, well, obviously someone's going to throw one,
like I'm going to throw two or three and then a lot of people are going to throw two or three.
Shaheen threw a five.
Yeah, I think Cedric and like Justin threw like a four. So yeah, I don't again, Shaheen,
maybe it's like he feels good. He doesn't like obviously you're not really going to win with a
he probably knows especially with a five,'re not gonna win it's a battle one play and it's safe
you know so um but anyways i thought that was a dream i thought i liked it i thought it was a fun
little game it's funny too like they laid out the rules but theoretically if you and your tribe want
to talk it out you can just be like oh we all agree that right you know Bryce you can throw one and
the rest of us will throw it too and then you get to pick, but nobody really thought about it like that.
But I guess I like this over.
And then what did you guys think about the journey itself
with the challenge and the steal of O and the block?
Is my service okay, by the way?
Yeah, you're good.
You're good.
I like that puzzle.
Now, would you consider that a slide puzzle though?
No. It's a slide puzzle though? No.
It's a puzzle to slide, so.
No, I would write.
I wouldn't consider that a slide puzzle.
I wouldn't consider that a slide puzzle.
That's not even a shot because I agree with him though.
Yeah, yeah.
And this puzzle actually, someone on Reddit made this puzzle online.
And so I went and tried it.
I tried to try this exact puzzle.
I got it got in three and a half minutes.
So I don't know how long the the the timer is the sand timer is out there for them.
But it didn't seem it didn't seem too too difficult.
Like it was a pretty pretty straightforward puzzle.
So yeah, that was pretty cool.
So if anyone wants to go try it, you can go find it somewhere on Reddit.
It looked a little confusing to me, but I did realize you, I think you could put numbers
in from either side, right?
So I think that helped.
No, no, you can only put it in from the right side, but you just keep sliding one out.
So you just like constantly slide.
Like if you need one out of a row, you just keep sliding that same row until you slide
out the one you need to go to a different row and then how do
you go about it because obviously once you finish one row then the others are
kind of stuck how do you just get them yeah you just you just do one through
five and then you work on you make sure one through fives in the right place and
then you make sure the next rows in right place and the last row will be a
little bit jumbled you pretty much like rearrange the last two slide out the one
that's out of order and just put it in the other one
until you can make it right.
So yeah, but it's, you can go try it yourself.
It's pretty, it's pretty straightforward.
But I like the challenge, like between this one
and the one that Rachel had on the barge
with the balls and things last season.
I think those are two very unique styles of puzzles.
And I really like what Survivor's doing with those.
So yeah.
And the advantage is, I mean, it seems like they were random
because they all picked the path but a steal of vote at this phase of the game
much stronger than a block about you could be you and one person and
you're about you're good to go.
Mm hmm. Exactly.
And that I was just going to say I thought that that was interesting
because the steal of vote for Thomas is huge on this tribe specifically because, you know, Star,
if she has an idol, now, okay, if Star and Thomas,
that's three votes right there.
Like, you know what I'm saying?
Like, and so-
Thomas will have Bianca too is the thing, so.
Exactly, so that's four votes.
So right there, they would control the first vote.
So like that's scary too.
Like a steal vote is very, very strong,
especially in groups of six and five.
Like, so yeah, it's tough.
What did you think of Mary going back
and telling the tribe that she lost her vote?
So I think that that's your only option.
In a situation where there's five people voting, I don't think that there's anything that Mary
could have came back and said other than she lost her vote that would have been beneficial
for her.
Because if she comes back and people think she has a vote, then people might need to
depend on her for a vote tonight with five people, which is such a, like five is such
a dangerous number to vote with that if she's like, yeah, I'm a number
you can depend on tonight, and ends up not being,
that might be, like she might end up going home
because of it, so like, it's better to just say,
I don't have any agency tonight,
I'm not a threat to any of you guys technically,
let me just chill back, and when Kevin told Mary,
just chill tonight, just chill and let me work,
let me work, like Kevin said, right?
Like let me chill back and let me work.
She did that, she chilled back,
she didn't have anything to do
and then Kevin went to work and went home.
So it was really, now I will say.
Oh, so what you're saying is,
if she would have said she had a vote,
then maybe he, Kevin,
wouldn't be.
I don't know, like, yeah, maybe he would,
I don't know, like, that's the thing is like,
if she doesn't have a vote, I don't even get why Kevin didn't,. Like, that's the thing is like, if she doesn't have a vote, I don't even get why Kevin didn't wasn't just cool with going with Mary. Like, she doesn't have a vote. She can't play her shot in the dark. Why? Like, it's the easiest vote in the world. So why do you are? Are you like, Oh, let me get this bright idea to go against my alliance that also has the idol and like, even if like, let's like, hear me out. Right. Even if that happens, right? Then Cedric and Justin are immediately on the bottom,
right?
Why would Cedric and Justin ever do that, right?
Why would they vote out, say,
and put themselves on the bottom and things like that?
Like it doesn't, it doesn't make any sense.
So do you mean it was Kevin trying to be greedy
with like getting rid of, say,
then keeping his situation with Mary
and working with the gentleman
and kind of like putting himself in the power position?
Yep, 100%, 100%.
I know we're all over the place,
but can we talk about Justin,
who I call Balinski real quick?
I just like the way Balinski moves, right?
Like, it's like, he like, what's up?
You wanna go this way?
I really like how people talk to him.
And when I be watching, I be like,
why are you going with them?
And then the next person he's with is like,
no, that makes sense.
Because the way where him and Cedric was talking
and Cedric brought up Kevin's name
and the way Balinski, he didn't put up,
it's the way he doesn't put up any resistance.
And it's the way that he feeds into what you're saying.
That's like, it hikes you up.
I'm trying to tell you, Balinski, he on my radar
and not because I'm hungry for some pizza.
He is straightforward, but he's also like,
seems very adaptable.
Like, I feel like he, like, he'll just say what's on,
like he'll find his moment, say what he thinks.
It's trustworthy. But also if you give him an idea, I feel like he'll just say what's on, like he'll find his moment, say what he thinks,
it's trustworthy, but also if you give him an idea,
he's very quick to be like, that's a good idea.
And you're like, all right, he's rocking with me.
It's like no pushback.
Yeah, I like, so a couple of things.
Taking it back to Mary, getting back to Cam, just quick.
I agree to not share that,
or to say that you don't have a vote.
I actually think it's a little bit meta, but I think you give a really bad story as to why you don't have a vote in her position.
So that people might be like, you know, she's lying.
Like she's got something and that might be like putting the sus off of you and people might be like, Oh, she might have an idol at an advantage in reality, you're telling the truth.
So ultimately people are going to be like, Oh, she was telling the truth.
But I think it's better if you're so earnestly, like, I don't have a vote.
Like I'm done.
Like, and everyone's like, Oh, say less.
Like we can just vote out Mary.
Um, but yeah, I mean, I like getting into this Kevin vote.
I actually, so I think in principle, strategically, it's not actually a bad mindset to have.
Ironically, Rome, it reminds me a lot of when Keishon tried to take you out, is that for
Keishon's game, especially in this tribe specifically that's losing a lot, in this Vula tribe, they're
going to lose more.
And so you've got to sort of set the dominoes up to fall so that where you can be one of those last two or three people. But similar
to when Keyshawn did it, if Mary has no vote and Say has an idol, and your entire plan
revolves around not only Say not playing her idol, but also Cedric coming with you, Justin
coming with you, then you essentially are thinking like
okay everybody is with me but like everybody's with me more than there was there was say and it's just
such a complicated plan that hinges on a lot of different relationships coming your way that it's
just like it's the right idea but in this moment it's doing too much and I think that's where Kevin really chucked himself up. I agree. Yeah. Like he had the right idea and maybe if Mary had a
vote and say didn't have an idol then you just be like yo Justin like could we
flip this? Cool. Yeah. To be like alright I need everybody who has a vote other
than say to vote her out and her not to play her idol. And so like just to
just to talk about it,
because you said it reminds you of my season situation.
So I thought that it definitely did.
Like Mary is essentially in the Saul position.
Say was in my position.
Kevin was in Keyshawn's position.
Cedric was in Genevieve's position.
Teeny was in Justin's position.
So it's like everyone was pretty much
kind of in the same situation. And it was one of those things where with me, I tried to get Saul to give up his shot in the dark because he could play a shot in the dark.
He had a vote, right?
This is a situation where the the Saul in this situation, Mary, she doesn't have a vote.
She can't play her shot in the dark.
So it's like there wasn't even a need to do anything extra.
Like there was no need to do that. You knew she couldn't vote. She can't play her shot in the dark. So it's like there wasn't even a need to do anything extra. Like there was
no need to do that. You knew she couldn't vote. She couldn't
save herself like she was gonna she was gonna be out of there.
And Kevin decided to go for the person that he thought was more
quote unquote dangerous. Which I mean, if someone's putting if
you feel like someone's that dangerous early on, are they
really about to win? So it's like what like, they'll get themselves out, you they really about to win? So it's like, they'll get themselves out.
You know what I'm saying?
So it's like, that's how he should be thinking.
He shouldn't be thinking like,
yeah, this person's dangerous at 17.
Let me get them out now.
Like, let them get themselves out.
I do see him being like, okay, if we vote out Mary
and we go back to tribal and say,
and Cedric are together and have an idol,
and Justin might be with them too,
that's a bad position to be in. But obviously if Cedric are together and have an idol and Justin might be with them too.
That's a bad position to be in.
But obviously if Cedric would say at that point that he's probably would say at this
point and then you're just trying to do too much.
I mean, that's really like the thing too is I think Kevin was really unlucky just generally
like being on this tribe where he's probably the best challenge asset against some other
tribes that are completely loaded.
Like you go to try three or four times before the merge,
you're going to lose some decent players like.
So I don't really think like Kevin was like, is it unlucky though?
Like, is it is it unlucky or did like Kevin try to strike too soon?
It's both. I mean, I don't think it was the best strategic move,
but I just think the fact of the matter is even if they vote out Mary,
Kevin's probably next and they probably do go back to tribal. So maybe then Kevin's the third
boot instead of the second boot, but you kind of have to play to like extend your longevity in the
game, which is why I don't mind Kevin sort of shooting a shot, but obviously it would take
everything to go 100% perfect. That's really difficult to pull off. So I think you just
rain it back, hope for a win, hope for a swap. But obviously, like what I mean by it being unlucky is like, say you switch Kevin and Kyle, then this Vula
tribe still probably goes to tribal a lot. And then you're just lucky that you were on the right
tribe, which is, I think is like a really underrated thing about, and then obviously I think for this
tribe, of course, Kevin is a challenge asset generally. I mean, maybe not with his bum
shoulder right now, but it's sort of, I feel like they've accepted that they're such a mess that
even if they have Kevin, it doesn't really matter. So you got to stick with your,
you got to find your person and just try to ride to that final two of the tribe and just do what
you got to do to get there. Who is the weakest member? Like I guess physically, if we're talking
physically, who is the weakest member on that tribe? I mean, Mary, but Cedric also had a bad performance
this challenge too.
Yeah, I'd say Cedric.
Even on the marooning challenge when he was covered in mud,
he couldn't get up that wall or whatever.
Yeah, I'd probably say Cedric.
Mary kind of smoked the water port part of the challenge,
and she even said,
this is why one of the reasons I applied
was for these water challenges. So, and she was almost keeping up with Shaheen and David,
you know what I'm saying? So yeah, I do like, you know, you have a big physical challenge.
Mary's probably the smallest person out there. So not that she's not athletic, but like,
that's that's it. I don't want to harp on it too much. We said it last episode. I really
would like to see what the tribe division discussion looked like because this division just doesn't
really make any sense to me.
Like, Stephanie, Sey, and Mary don't stack up against Eva Starr and Bianca.
Yeah, an basketball player, a hockey player.
And Cedric, Kevin, and Justin don't stack up against
David, Kyle and Mitch.
I mean, Mitch was looking like prime Kobe Bryant
in that challenge.
Like, so I don't know.
And then even, I think Kevin was like,
or maybe Justin's, I think Kevin looking at him
standing next to Jeff when his torch got snuffed,
just not that tall.
Kevin must be like five, eight.
Like he was almost as tall as well.
On a good or bad day.
But yeah, no, it's just it's just really like this tribe was sort of
bested in for failure.
But when that's the case, you got to just find your duo and ride with them
and just try to get to that.
I don't know. It's hard.
That's so real quick.
Can we talk about the vote?
Because tribal, I thought, was extremely interesting.
Say it was extremely open to everyone about the vote? Because Tribal, I thought, was extremely interesting. Say was extremely open to everyone about the vote,
about it's gonna be Mary, things like that.
And I thought it was interesting.
Jeff asked a question.
He said, what happens if you guys are both here?
And Mary essentially said,
if we're both still here after the vote,
we can't work together because we can't trust each other
and we need to eliminate each other.
And Say's face was like, oh, word.
And I thought it was very interesting
because also Say, when she played her idol,
she said she didn't feel confident in the vote.
I thought that was really interesting
because in my head, I thought Say would be confident
in the vote, knowing where things are going.
But at the same time, you gotta think,
Say thought that Justin and Cedric
were gonna vote for Mary that night because that's what they said say thought that Justin and Cedric were going to vote for Mary that night, because that's
what they said. And also Justin and Cedric thought say was going
to be voting for Mary because that's who they told her to vote
for. But little did each other know, both parties voted for
Kevin. So I thought it was crazy coming into the into the vote.
The plan was tell the other person to vote for Mary. And
then both parties ended up voting for Kevin instead. I
thought that was that was incredible.
Like say did it to teach Kevin a lesson and they did it because they had a talk
and figured out that Kevin was a bigger threat.
So I felt like there was too, I felt like we just did,
they edited that way. They left a lot for us not to see,
because I felt like that was too
co-edient.
Was this, I think voting Kevin was the right move.
Assuming Cedric and Seyar, the powerful duo here,
then I think leaving Mary and Justin,
it's like they're not gonna tie it up against you.
So they're in a great spot.
Whereas you leave Kevin with a Justin.
I mean, again, I don't think Kevin and Justin are gonna take a stand and go to two to two but
It's I always like if you're in that sweet like that power position
Just leave people in that are not gonna get together and it's just the game's gonna flow through you
would it would have made sense for I
guess a Justin to have tried to swing it on to on to Mary though or
What about his position?
I mean, do you think he's just the three in that group and he's kind of
happy with it and just hoping they don't?
I think I think that Cedric has the most influence in this in this game.
Cedric went to say and said, can you what do you say?
Like, can you keep your emotions in check or something like that?
Like and then she was like, yeah.
And he told her, like, look, we're going to be putting votes on you tonight.
But we were and she and she was able to say, OK, all right.
Who was it, by the way? It was Kevin. OK, good to know.
OK, got it. Noted. Noted for later.
I will be read his name down. Yep.
Yeah, I thought that was that was pretty funny.
I thought you think that Justin, because Justin, I feel like was the one
that changed Cedric's mind into voting for Kevin.
But would it have been better for Justin to vote for Mary or what?
No, because didn't we just say we need to like if we're a tribe that is more than likely
going to be going again, we need to line the dominoes up.
And I really think Balinski is peeping that if Kevin is trying to get say out, like who's
to say it won't be me next?
And so I think it is brilliant for Balinski to be like, let's get Kevin and
then boom, if we go again, boom, it's Mary.
And so like, I think that's the most, I think he did the most logical thing for
his game.
I will, I will, I don't necessarily disagree.
I will counter that argument.
And I will say that I think Blinsky played really well this episode.
I think in his mind, if I'm him,
I think that I'm the number three in this tribe,
whoever goes home, right?
It seems like Cedric and Sarah really tie it.
Like Cedric just told Say this plan.
So I'm thinking, okay, whether it's Mary or Kevin now,
it'll probably be the other one next.
And obviously Kevin's not the most trustworthy,
but like he did come to you with some information.
I think maybe just the argument for Justin to vote
for Mary is like, if I'm going out, you know,
if I'm gonna be the three in this,
I do not wanna get to a place where I'm going to tribal
with that three.
And so maybe just keep Kevin to give you a better shot
in the challenges with your four.
I mean, they might be screwed either way.
But he still has that three because he still has Mary.
And now it could be Mary, him, this century.
But with Mary, don't you think that there's a higher chance
they lose the next challenge?
And then that obviously means there's a more likely chance
they go to tribal again, in which case it would be him.
You heard Cedric's reaction to when Justin said, yeah, but getting rid of Kevin, I'm a little bit
worried about the challenges. Cedric said, challenges, challenges. We're talking about
challenges. They know they're winning. Well, yeah, Cedric and Cedric and Say should
care because they know they might not, they're probably not going to win any, but I'm just
thinking if I'm Justin, well, they said that they know they're not not gonna win any, but I'm just thinking if I'm Justin, if I'm, they're not, well, they said that,
they know they're not gonna win any.
So, but if I'm Justin and I know we're not gonna win any,
and we might go to four tribals,
and I'm gonna be the person out at that fourth tribal,
then to me it makes sense that you would try to keep Kevin,
just, I mean, having Kevin, you're more likely to win
than having Mary, I think is a reasonable.
I mean, that, hey, hey. likely to win than having Mary, I think is a reasonable. I mean, hey, hey.
No, it depends on the challenge.
I wouldn't make that assumption.
I'm not saying.
Look, if you're in the game, I would feel like,
I'm not saying, it depends on the challenge,
there's other factors.
Mary's no slouch, but Kevin's pretty athletic.
Like I would think we're better off with Kevin.
And so. Did you see how he goes?
With a lump shoulder.
He did die, the die was terrible. The die was terrible.
I don't know. I mean, look, we might see them go to four
tribals either way, in which case I think Justin would be
the one out fourth after Mary goes next if that's the case.
But again, I think Justin played his cards fine because
also I don't mind, look,
if this is the hand you're dealt,
and you think you're gonna go to a bunch of travels,
you gotta just try to get down to that three
and maybe win a challenge and then you're good.
And then you're a free agent.
Like what else can you do?
If Justin tried to do what Kevin was doing,
we see what happens.
So, very small point that I just wanted to like
weigh a little bit, but I think Justin,
given his situation, did a great job.
Can we give, Uncle said, a round of applause for,
I like the way he handled coming back from the challenge
after he kind of knew he messed up.
And he kind of like, this is where,
why I like having older players like a Cedric.
Like I like when you have these like I don't I don't want to use the term
respectable, but like when you have like this older guy, you know what?
Like he gives right.
He's like a little wiser.
Right. Like, you know, you can listen.
I like how he's like, come here, young people.
Come come sit down. Listen to me.
What happened today?
We should not we should all be upset.
We lost as a team.
But when we gonna win, we're gonna win as a team.
I don't know why I'm crying y'all
because I love y'all, I wanna be here.
Like, you know, and then it's just like,
and then in the midst of everybody crying,
he's like, but listen up everybody.
Uncle said he's gonna take this one.
I'm gonna take full responsibility.
And listen, I want everybody to come and talk to me.
We gonna have one on ones and we gonna figure this out.
Like, do y'all see what he did there?
Like I was like, said, you are not fooling anybody.
I loved how he used his age and wisdom to kind of like really
take the heat off of him and I don't feel like I see enough
people talking about that.
It's like he owned up to it and then also said hey, I'm gonna
be politicking with y'all.
But like I'm gonna be coming to talk to every one of y'all.
But it was so smooth how he did it.
Yeah.
Hey Mary, you're busy.
Come talk to me.
Like it's like, hello, he's doing it right in front of y'all.
Hey Mary.
Say gotta go, girl.
Okay, like, but I just, I like when you see stuff like that,
that it kind of goes over people's head,
but it's like, that was a great deflection.
And it's like, you can say anything to people,
it's just how you say it.
Cause like, someone else could have been like,
yo man, my bad.
I lost the challenge.
Now I gotta talk to you real quick
and then I'm gonna walk with you to the water real quick.
And we'll, nah, but he was just like,
but you know, we'll have conversations.
We'll figure it out.
The water is with you.
We're gonna figure it out together.
We're unity, okay.
Rome, it doesn't matter your height, okay?
You are tall in words.
Wendell, you didn't go far in the winners at war,
but the war is in the winner.
Hey Jack, when that floor was lava, the lava wasn't floor.
I'm gonna talk individually to each of y'all
and we gonna figure this out together, okay?
Uncle Cedric.
And then Justin go hit Cedric with the,
hey, so Bryce, you know what I'm saying?
You was on a great season,
but you didn't have a great season though on it.
You know what I'm saying?
Like.
You didn't have a great season.
Okay.
Okay.
Okay.
Justin,
worry about your pizza crust, okay?
The legendary status is already legendary.
Now come on and talk to Uncle Seth
and see what we can figure out today.
Hey, we can talk about my pizzas all day,
but you know what I'm saying,
those x-rays that you gotta look at
when you get back home, you know what I'm saying?
Every day at work, that's a little bit tough, ain't it?
That's like...
The x-rays provided lineage for the family
for three generations.
Okay.
Like, all right, all right.
So can we talk real quick about SEVA?
Cause we didn't talk about the SEVA idol situation
at all yet.
And we're a few minutes into this podcast. I think we should talk about the the SEVA Idol situation at all yet. And we were, you know, a few minutes into this podcast, I think we
we should talk about this. So the SEVA4, they realized, let's
start looking for the Idol, right? They're like, they're
like, Okay, it's time to start looking, right? Kyle finds it
with David. Kyle shares it then with Camilla. And then Camilla,
having six letters was able to figure it out. And I thought it
was interesting that she got the first two letters from the
other cryptograms. She got the listen, she got the the the
whatever, and the last one was enlist and she was able to do
it by writing it on her leg and figure it out and, and she
opened it and now Kyle, Kyle has an idol. So now it's like,
okay, the the SEVA four has an idol in their possession in the
alliances possession. That's what you want. As far as I'm aware, somehow, some way,
what's his name, Mitch and Charity don't know,
somehow at all, I guess, at least from what we've seen.
Like, they saw the black string and things like that,
but they didn't see the idol yet.
Like, as far as we know, they don't know about it.
So, when it comes to this tribe,
I feel like the dynamics are pretty straightforward,
but also, you know, I don't know, man.
I feel like they're just the two on the bottom.
I don't know.
Like, I feel like this is a pretty straightforward tribe.
So now I love David.
The one thing that made me mad with David this episode was
when they're like, he's like, I like Mitch,
but I just can't trust him. But then I'm like, but Mitch isn't in your alliance. You don't
talk with Mitch. Why would you then trust him? And then it's like, you're like, and
I can't trust him at charity, but it's like that y'all have made this alliance. Like,
it's obviously it's clear to them to, So I don't know, sometimes I hate when
and not necessarily David or maybe somebody can explain this to me or just the psychology of it
is we're like when the alliance is running the tribe and obviously the two people on the bottom,
I hate when then the tribes like we can't trust them. Well, why do you think you can't trust them?
Yeah, yeah. Y'all have made this problem. Well, why do you think you can't trust them? Yeah, yeah.
Y'all have made this problem.
Well, I think especially with this alliance,
it sort of formed like charity said like one thing
and they all came together like,
we don't want to deal with this game
and let's just stick together.
And so it literally formed out of a desire
to not really strategize.
And then so they see Mitch and charity,
charity is like Mitch,
I'm so proud of you for overcoming your obstacles. And David and Nicole are like, nah, we can't
have that.
Too close to gameplay. Too close to gameplay.
Yeah, no, I mean, right. But I think the psychology is like, once you have your group, whether
it's in survivor in society, it's very easy to want to, you know, villainize the outsiders. And so, I mean, in survivor, I hate
to say it, like, it's sort of what you kind of have to, like,
to make sure that your alliance is solid, you kind of have to
separate those other people. Is it right? Probably not. But of
course, if he's running around being like, you know what, my
alliance, we should trust charity and Mitch.
I actually like those guys a lot.
And then everyone would be like, well, what's I thought we had something good going.
So I think that's the psychology of it.
I mean, sometimes it's a little tough to watch, because, like you said,
like Mitch and charity, they seem really nice.
Like they seem really fun and someone I'd be able to work with.
But it's just like the way that the cards got dealt.
And then my last thing is,
wouldn't we think in this new era, right,
that when we see a tribe like this
who is pretty strong, they're well,
like my mind wonders,
it actually is easier for someone in this alliance to
flip and having like the swing vote of a charity in a Mitch,
right? Like what David is thinking is right. But I'm
thinking like, I think what he should be thinking is, actually,
let me just plant some seeds with these people in the event
that like something in this forgoes a ride. I'd rather be
the first to these two than me being like, we like you know what I'm saying? Like it's like
kind of that issue.
Fine line though you don't want to be too well and Mitch with this block of vote now
it's just going to take one if they can flip one then they can get the majority but I know
what you mean you want to keep open communication but also you don't want to be the one that's
playing both sides and have your alliance turn on.
That's what what's your own thing?
I'm just thinking like that block of vote makes it where like you need, you need
two other people with you to vote.
And then the other three people are all going to be able to vote except so you
block one's vote, right?
And so then it's three on two.
So you need to be able to fully trust those two people.
They need to also fully trust
that you're gonna play your block of vote.
Like also, I don't know how a block of vote works
in terms to shot in the dark.
I don't know if you block someone's vote.
If a blocked vote is the same as not having a vote.
I don't know if like a blocked vote,
you can't play a shot in the dark.
If someone blocks your vote,
I'm assuming that that's how it works,
but we don't know for a fact.
So whoever Mitch blocks their vote on, they might end up being the target
because they can't play their shot in the dark.
And I think I don't know.
I think that that I don't know.
A block of vote is such an interesting and interesting one,
because it's not as straightforward to steal a vote, you know, steal a vote.
You know, they can't play their shot in the dark.
Now you get two votes like, you know what I'm saying?
Like, it's it's a lot, a lot more lethal to have a steal a vote
than a block a vote.
And because the block a vote, right?
You really don't know how actually it works
until you play it.
That makes it more lethal or does that make it more like,
less, like people aren't as scared?
I mean, the fact that Mitch came back and announced it to his tribe. I have a hot take that if you go on a journey, it's and you get something early in the game,
especially if your tribe still at six, you tell every single person about your advantage
that you get on the journey.
Like that's it's a hot take.
But like I said it because it's just worked so many times in the new era.
Like we saw a classic example is Drew with in 45.
Drew went on the journey.
I forgot what advantage he got, but he got an advantage.
He came back and it made everyone trust him.
Like everyone felt like they could trust Drew and wanted to work with him instead
of, oh, I found out about you having an advantage from someone else.
Now I want to go after you because you dangerous.
Like, you know what I'm saying?
So it's like it definitely, in my opinion, was a good move on Mitch to be open that I have a block of vote. Because now at the First Tribal, people can assume
he's going to be using that block of vote, right? So it's like, I think a lot more people are
probably going to be wanting to work with Mitch than not work with Mitch when it comes to the vote,
if they ever have to go. It's a good point. Yeah.
There's so many game and you sort of present like, oh, I have this asset.
It could be used for our group.
But if you try to go against me in these small numbers, it's just going to be a little bit
harder.
So my people off of that.
I don't mind that.
Yep.
Yeah.
But overall, I think I think this was a great, great episode.
I don't know if you guys saw the secret scenes at all.
Were you able to? Okay. One of them. One of them was David. I think this was a great, great episode. I don't know if you guys saw the secret scenes at all.
Were you able to? OK, one of them, one of them was David.
He with the fishing gear, because, you know, the both tribes that want immunity,
they want fishing gear.
And, you know, David, David went out there and tried to try to try to do some spear
fishing. You know what I'm saying?
He had to work out.
Well, he wasn't able to catch any, unfortunately.
You know, I was rooting for him, you know what I'm saying?
If somebody that caught 13 fish while I was out there,
I was rooting for him to get a couple,
but you know what I'm saying, he wasn't able to.
But that's the thing is that they've got fire,
so he's got a lot of days to try.
So it's like, I'm sure that he's gonna be able
to catch some fish at some point.
What advice could you give him, Rome?
What advice from the technique that you saw?
What could you get?
Let David know a little something.
Listen, listen, all right.
Like what I learned is like with your index finger,
like you pretty much point at the fish that you want,
you line it up, you know, you line the Hawaiian sling up
and you just kind of point at the fish, you let it go
and you know what I'm saying?
Sometimes you catch something, you know what I'm saying? Sometimes, sometimes you catch something, you know what I'm saying?
That is interesting to know. Well, David, I hope you're listening. Was that you being a fish for David to?
David, I hope you're listening.
David, I hope you're listening. David's only seen one season of Survivor, but I bet he listens to the pod.
And I don't care what season he's seen. I know he don't know who I am.
Oh, do we want to talk about that? Do we want wanna talk about that? Do we wanna talk about that?
He said, David said, David last night, he said,
oh, you played Survivor before talking to Bryce.
And he was like, and David said, oh, my bad, my bad.
I apologize.
I've only seen like the new era seasons
and only saw Kageyan as well.
Oh yeah.
Everybody said, David, Bryce was on Kageyan.
Everybody said, David, Bryce was all cocky.
Bryce just had to turn around. He just had to put his head down.
Well, I think David was rooting for Garrett probably.
And then he just stopped watching.
When someone's only seen eight scenes of the survivor
and they get one of the people that they just watch
right in front of their face.
It is quite all right.
It is something that I would expect from somebody
that had two nipples, but because he has four,
he gets a pass.
He gets a pass. But. He gets the pass.
But listen, Rome, I have to say before we go,
you've been absolutely fantastic.
Like it is truly, dare I say,
hold on, dare I say, because Rome, you know,
you see what you see on TV and in person, you know,
it's hard to find you.
I look left, I look right, I look left.
But when I looked down, I found you.
And I am pretty sure in that room of yours,
that chair is not down.
I know that that chair is all the way up and I am a little higher.
Come on, man.
Get up a little higher.
