Wendell Jack and I had to come back together
for Survivor News, CBS.
This Wednesday recently dropped the cast of Survivor 50.
Wendell Jack and I are giving our takes on what we think about the players,
the potential or the possible or who are going to be from 49.
Will we think about 48? Will we think about old school, new school?
We are breaking it all down. So let's get into this Survivor News. Survivor News. Survivor News. Survivor News. Survivor News.
Survivor News.
Survivor News.
Survivor News.
Survivor News.
Survivor News.
And we are back with your Survivor News.
The Survivor streets are rumbling from my bedroom of me and Ozzy.
But outside of that, Survivor 50 cast has officially dropped
and your baby boys are here to break it down.
You thought we would leave you?
Let's welcome back to the podcast,
the first merged boots of Winners at War
and the winners of Ghost Island
when DZ Holland was popping with you.
I am back.
I'm ready to go.
I'm excited to talk about 50.
The survivor streets are buzzing.
Oh, buzzing. They are.
And from the West Coast to the East Coast, we have the baby
boy, Jack, Emily Atkins from the Circle season to Jack was
popping.
I just got a call yesterday.
I got cut from 50.
So, okay.
Well, let's just jump right on into this
because I was, you know me,
I was on a phone window earlier.
How shocked were you to hear that penner
was cut last minute?
I don't know.
I don't know.
My shock levels, I don't know. I don't know.
My shock levels, I don't know.
But my disappointment levels, definitely high.
I wish we would have had Penner.
There's a lot of snubs, I think, for this cast that we'll get into.
But overall, you know, the cast can't be perfect in everybody's eyes.
You can't make everybody happy.
And overall, I'm optimistic.
I think there's a lot of people
that I'm really excited to see back.
I'm really excited to see certain people
interact with each other.
I think there's the foundation here for a good season.
And of course, there's a couple other favorites I had
that I wish were there, but you know,
you can't have it all, you can't have it all.
Okay. What was your guys' reaction? I was about to ask when DZ that, but you know, you can't have it all. You can't have it all. OK, what is you?
What was your guys reaction?
I was about to ask when Dizzy that because I
you want me to give my reaction first when Dizzy or what you want to go?
Well, I'll go ahead. I'll go.
My baseline is if I'm looking at this cast,
I'm happy. I think it's going to be a fun entertaining season.
I'm saying that off rip.
Like, yes, there are some favorites that we'd say got snubbed or some people we really wanted,
but just looking at this cast, I'm like, I'm excited to see this group of people play with
each other.
It spans the whole, you know,
the whole however many years Survivor's been going on.
But-
It's a big chunk though, but you know,
it does span the whole-
Yeah, yeah, they missed what?
Was it like from 18 to like 35,
they were like one person or something like that?
But overall, when I look at this group,
I'm like, wow, there are so many people that I wanna see
and see them interact with each other and stuff, so I'm like, wow, there are so many people that I want to see and see them interact
with each other and stuff, so I'm happy. But I'm sure we'll get into the other things that
we are so happy about.
Well, you're asking me, I think, again, looking at this cast, I'm excited as a survivor fan,
seeing these people. I'm excited. But I don't love or did not love,
I didn't love the rollout of this cast, right?
Like I didn't love the, it felt very forced.
Season 48 just ended.
Where's the hype around season 49?
It's like y'all just skipped 49 and jumped to 50.
And then with CBS releasing this image, if you're watching on YouTube,
I feel like Jack, did you make this image?
Like, I feel like it just seemed like.
Tricky on the image.
I'm going to use tricky.
Who made the logo for this season?
That's maybe the worst part. Apparently, this is the actual logo and not just some like,
you know, little teaser.
This is like the season logo and it looks like some I made on
clip are back in elementary school.
I mean, are these all the cast photos exactly or like what made them choose?
Right.
Yeah, you got Ozzy's high school graduation photo.
I think they put the graphic design for this season
in the hands of the fans.
Okay, but no, I wouldn't even say that
because in the hands of the fans,
the fans would have turned out something better
than this, right?
And so that is just my only gripe with this season
is I don't love the rollout.
Like y'all could have waited a week
until y'all had them out there
and like had them all wear tan.
And just, I don't know,
just the rollout for me could have been a lot better.
It just seemed rushed.
Like they were like, oh, we gotta get up.
We gotta get it out there.
I think they wanted to get ahead of things.
I think, I think like maybe a week ago,
as things were leaking, I think they were like, look,
these fools go out on Tuesday or Wednesday, whatever.
We're going to release it as soon as they're out,
as soon as we take their phones,
because we know that the lists are out there
and people are going to be speculating.
Let's get ahead of it, but yeah.
I guess by the time it rolls around,
come next February or whatever,
there's gonna be better press that we can bank on,
but yeah, for a monumental milestone,
it's a little bit like, yeah.
Right.
It's a minor complaint, but it was just kind of fun.
That's all because again, I am high for this cast.
Like I said, I'm hyped to see everyone interact.
I think, you know, I would have could have picked some other people.
But for the people that they have picked, I I I love it.
And I just I don't love the rushed feeling about it.
And again, I put myself on 49.
If I'm on 49, it's like, hello?
This isn't a high rise or a hotel.
You ever notice that high rise buildings are hotels?
They don't have the 13th floor.
It's like the 12th or the 14th floor.
They'll do the lobby as the first floor,
and then they'll have a floor one, two, three, four,
five, six, seven, eight, nine, 10, eleven, twelve, fourteen, you know, bad luck. It's given like what is season forty nine?
The 13th floor like. Hello. That's that's just my one complaint.
And then again, like, you know, as as you all crowd them in L.A., you could have an intern
snapping a photo like a passport photo
and then stitched it together for you.
I don't know if that would have been better though.
It was just them at the airport with like their TSA photo.
Like it would have been if they had a real ID.
Right. It would have been some uniform, some like it's just like again,
like it's like I feel like we got Saree's first work ID, okay?
We got Jonathan on the beach.
We got like, yeah, but-
We got Colby's modeling headshot back in the late 25.
But nevertheless, we do have a season and we are excited.
I mean, they are missing some notable things.
I still do have a work retreat in a couple of weeks.
So I am going on my work retreat, okay?
But let's dive into the cast and see what we got.
Or any more thoughts?
Yeah, so more recently, I've gotten some DMs like,
oh man, I wish you were on 50, oh, they snubbed.
First of all, I wasn't...
Wendell,
DMs from your mom and dad do not care.
I'm going to get into that one. We're working on it.
We're working on it, Bryce.
Wendell got a DM from his mom, so we're clear.
But what were the DMs saying?
No, she can't DM.
So I don't know, your mom DMs all the time.
OK, DMs you.
We got to just work on a profile photo, but we'll get there.
May I may I finish?
Tell us about your DMs for your mom.
No, I'm not going to show you receipts, Bryce.
But I've been getting messages like, yo, we wish you were on, yo, what have you
retired all this stuff? And in my head, I'm like, first of
all, I didn't think they were considering winners. Obviously,
they grabbed a couple, which is great to see it's going to make
the dynamic interesting. But from my perspective, I'm like, I
just played 50 with a 40 with a bunch of winners, just maybe a
few years back, whatever.
But I am of the school of thought where I'm like, I've now played twice.
I want to see more people play.
Like I have no problem not getting a call for 50 and I'm happy with that.
Of course, if ever they call me, I'll go back out there.
But I'm good and content.
I wasn't thinking I was going to get a call.
However, yesterday morning, the day of the drop from CBS,
when like, Probe's was on at whatever, 8.30 a.m. sharp,
I'm playing basketball in the morning.
I'm like, you know, get my workout in.
I get in the car, I'm driving to, I'm driving home,
and I get a phone call from my parents.
Not them together, they both are on the phone.
They're both on the phone.
When senior, son, we just want you to know
that we still love you.
I'm like, yo, is everyone okay?
Did someone like, is something happening?
What's?
They're like, we saw the list for survivor 50.
I'm like, what?
I was like, guys, I'm good.
I'm okay.
I, I, furthermore, I didn't think I was on or getting that call.
Okay.
So they would have known by that.
If they know it is not, but I guess it was a big shocker to them and whatever.
So I guess they didn't even know that they had already flown out or something.
But yeah, I guess if you think about it, you played and then the only returning
season since you were on that, too.
So they're like, our boy is going to be on every returning season.
That's what I think they think when it's really like there are so many factors
at play when
they make these returning seasons, but I can't explain that to Neats and when
senior I'm just like guys, I, I appreciate y'all.
Thank you guys.
It's just the fact that your dad calls your mom.
Okay.
They're at home.
He's home now, but it was the landline or they had you on speakerphone on the
speakerphone.
Oh, I think that's even worse.
That's even worse.
It's because you didn't tweet anything about getting cut last minute one day.
How are they supposed to know?
I should have been, I should have kept the people updating, the people being my parents.
That is hilarious.
Okay, you brought up another subject that I do want to talk about.
Again, I am very happy for this season, but some of my initial disappointments
was seeing two winners return, right?
And I love both the winners.
I think both of the winners that are on this returning season, I believe it's D and Kyle.
I think they played amazing games, but like, I also just feel like I don't want no winners.
That's why there's only two.
I mean, I know, but.
I think it adds a good little dynamic and threat level,
a good little dynamic and threat level.
Cause you have Dee and you also have Flippin, right?
And then you have Kyle and you have Camilla
and you have Joe.
So what I love about this is we're seeing like these little
duos, trios, whatever people from the same eras and stuff.
So I think it's just enough threat level to,
I guess, not allow for a winners at worst situation where all the whatever
older folks got picked off or something.
There's still some eyes on these two younger,
great, very recent players.
So I kind of like that there are just two.
Right.
And again, I'm not mad at the winners.
I think Dee played a hell of a game.
So it's like, I actually want to see her back in the fold
to see how she kind of maneuvers this.
And Kyle plays such a great game.
I almost have more of a gripe with Kyle being back.
And again, I love Kyle and I'm excited more of a gripe with Kyle being back.
And again, I love Kyle and I'm excited he's out there,
but he just won.
Like, you know, you just won.
So I get that, but that's the only like the internal me.
The external me is like, yes, we love Kyle.
Now, also, I guess if you host on fire podcast,
So I guess if you host On Fire podcast,
I guess that means you're eschewing for our returning season unless your name is Rachel.
The On Fire pipeline to season 50 is crazy, huh?
Because I mean, it's all of the hosts but Rachel.
And again, I could see maybe why not Rachel
in the sense of like not having winners.
And I can see like a most recent winner and heaven.
But I mean to see Rachel and Genevieve back on the island.
Ah, listen, listen, I'm saying if y'all are and again, if this is the fire and ice or fire, what's the name of Jep?
Fire on fire.
And this is the on fire pipeline.
Well, who was the first host?
What did that say? Evans.
And Charlie 45.
Yeah, we got Rick Evans.
Well, now, because the first season, they didn't have a special fan, whatever.
Then it was like the next season.
Then it was Rick Devins.
Well, they made Devins on the first one for 45, right?
And then Dean for 46, 47, then Rachel for 48.
Is that right?
Charlie.
And then Charlie.
Yeah, I said Charlie for 47.
And then Rachel for 48.
There's only four people to pick from,
but I know what you mean.
OK, so also, that's another, that could be another Lord Elias out there.
The On Fire pod.
It's so many different connections.
Also, I do just want to take the time.
What you about to say?
I was just going to say shout out to the On Fire pod because Jay,
the producer was definitely at our finale event.
He definitely was at the Bryson win.
And the night before the cast leaked, Wendell and I were on the phone
and we were like just talking about the potential cast.
Because, you know, after we recorded our last Survivor News episode,
Jack immediately was like, Hey, guys, from a credible source,
this is a potential cast leak
and sent it to us.
And so we had the potential.
And so Wendell and I were on it.
It was I think it was right.
I think for the most part, it was right.
But what I loved, though, was like, while Wendell and I were on the phone,
he randomly sent me a photo of like three from our first watch party.
And then I sent him a photo of Jonathan. And then he sent me a photo of like, Sarif from our first watch party. And then I sent him a photo of Jonathan.
And then he sent me a photo of Coach.
Then I sent him my booty cheeks with Ozzy.
And I sent it three times cause he didn't acknowledge it.
But what I did love, pardon?
I said, and I'm still not gonna acknowledge it.
Who took the photo one time?
You got these Twitter streets in an uproar. Okay. I said, and I'm still not going to acknowledge it. Who took a photo one day?
You got these Twitter streets in an uproar.
Okay.
First of all, to not Twitter talk about, I didn't know Bryce and Ozzy was a thing.
Somebody was like, I'm disgusted.
Okay.
There's somebody up in the comments was like, I didn't know Bryce was so thick.
Okay.
I eat my rice and cabbage.
Anyway, okay, the DM's been off,
the DM's been on fire, okay?
But what I, ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha I was like, not to Britcher. You're really not. Posse, y'all are a mess, but no, back to the lore, right?
So then we're doing, I, not back to my lore,
because it's thick.
Half your DMs were like, why aren't you on 50?
The other half were like, why aren't you on Ozzy?
Okay, okay.
You know how sometimes you gotta,
before they leave out the house,
you gotta make sure the tank is, anyway.
What I would say was that after the conversation,
Wendell and I had about like 15 photos.
And we were like, you know what?
When they drop the cast of 50, we should post these photos.
And there was a couple of people,
shout out to our bestie, Natasha in LA.
She sent us like such a message,
just a heartfelt message like, wow,
like the impact of Bryce and Wynn even on 50.
It's so cool for you guys to post these photos
of these people at your event.
And so I don't know, I just love that.
And-
Maybe there'll be some Bryce and Wynn lore
that makes the episode like,
oh, they met at the Bryce and Wynn event
and they have to be in an alliance now.
It's like the poker alliance on Winners at War.
It won't take long to tell you Neutral's ingredients.
Vodka, soda, natural flavors.
So, what should we talk about?
No sugar added?
Neutral.
Refreshingly simple.
Here's my last little take. You know, Wendell and I still are tapped in with casting and stuff.
And I did get a message, a couple of messages from casting.
And essentially they were saying, like, we appreciate you and Wendell being so
hype and positive about season 50.
And obviously, I guess that some of the fans just aren't happy or like,
hey, fans, we not always get what we want, but
let's work with what we got, okay?
I think this will be a great season and also to cast in.
Good to know you still got my number.
Good to know you're still checking the Instagrams.
Okay, good to know. Got it. Okay.
Use it.
Now they wanna call you.
You keep that positivity up.
Bryce, you've been so positive.
We would love to get you on 52.
Season 100.
Bryce, you've been so positive.
Can you repost this for us?
Okay.
Bryce, I know we secretly got rid of the diversity.
Ah, and let's talk about Jack.
Let's talk about that because hey,
when I'm looking at this cast,
I'm trying to figure out where is my Latinos?
Where is the Asian community?
Where is the LGBTQ plus community?
Like there are some questions that I do have that.
Yes, you do got three.
Yes, you do got Q.
Yes, you do got Ozzy, but like that also was something that did come to my mind.
If I, if, if we're having an open and honest conversation,
I think there are a few Latinos, but I think I don't think that.
I don't think the 50% is met.
I think I don't want to.
I think we need to go back to the drawing board.
Right.
So I'm saying and my thinking on it, and I'm even working in casting,
I think diversity is incredibly important.
That's something I learn more about
from your guys' initiative.
I think with a season like this,
yeah, let me finish my point too.
I think with a season like this,
I understand them not necessarily.
Well, okay. I think it's even more important.
You better land.
It's going to land.
I understand like you on any any new player season, like keep it.
Keep the initiative up.
Give everybody, you know, a chance.
But this if you're picking the best of the best, not necessarily that this is that, then I don't want them to have to feel like
they have to shoehorn certain people in.
You don't want DEI on 50, is that what you're saying?
No, no, but here's where I'm gonna land,
is if you feel like that's not the best of the best,
but certain people that didn't make the cut
that I think absolutely should have
would have also fulfilled, boosted the diversity, like a Jesse Lopez.
And so that's my question.
He's not on it though.
Exactly. So that's why I question it is because it's not like we're thinking about like,
oh, who else could have made it like and we're not,
we're struggling to come up with potential people that would fulfill that.
That's why I'm like, that's where the diversity,
I question the lack of diversities
because we could have had a Jesse Lopez,
we could have had a Sydney Gillen from Co-Rom.
Like those options were out there.
So that's why I don't, like my point is
they don't have to do it just to do it,
but because there are those people that are available,
then I think that they should be sticking to that.
The whole thing with DEI is we're not just doing it just to do it.
Well, exactly. These are capable, amazing people.
And in the case like it's like a Jesse Lopez right now.
He's one of the greatest to come out in the last however many years.
He should be on this cast. It's not a, oh, we're doing it just to do it.
It's a, hey, these mofos have been historically looked over.
They are as capable.
Now sit in this position and take care of it.
Do you think there's a slight difference
between a new player season where you want everyone to?
No.
I do, I do.
I think diversity matters even more on a season like this.
I think diversity matters even more on a season like this.
I think it matters more on a season like this because it is such a monumental season.
You will have the eyes.
So let's show them what diversity can actually look like.
And I think, again, it levels the playing field
for the list of potential returning seasons.
Also, the first winner of Survivor was an openly gay man.
I mean, I agree.
We do have Mike White, we do have Mike White.
I do, I forgot about that.
But like, I'm just saying, like, I guess.
It's still pretty divert, like, again,
it doesn't hit the 50%.
And I think the reason I think it should
is because those options were there.
It's giving, you know, when you're back in school
and there are the Crayola boxes
and it's the one box with six colors,
then it's the 16, then it's the 32, We definitely are getting the six Crayola crayon.
I'm with you. I wish it was 50 percent.
But go to the cast photo.
I think if there's 24 people, I think 10 of them or 11 of them are like.
Suri, Ozzy, Q, Kyle, Camilla, Mike White.
Tiffany, D, I think Angelina, Joe.
I mean, how many did I, that's like 10, right?
So I wish it was 12.
I wish I had a...
What's Mike White?
Oh, he...
All GDC.
Gay, yeah.
But I mean, also assimilates in, but yeah, but yeah.
I know, I know the different conversations.
Is that BIPOC? I'm asking a real question. Well, no, I just meant in, but yeah, but yeah. I know, that was a different conversation. Is that pipe-ock?
I'm asking a real question.
Oh no, I just meant in terms of diversity,
like sexuality, diversity, you know.
And that is important.
But also-
How do those all need to combine into the same metrics?
I'm just saying, I can look here
and I'm counting one, two, three, four,
like I count one, two, three, four, like I count one, two, three,
four, five, six, seven, potentially eight white men.
That's all I'm saying.
I'm not, it could definitely be better.
That's all I'm saying.
And again, but we, yeah.
So I, me personally, again, I'm still happy with this cast,
but again, I think that diversity matters even more.
And I think as opposed to a new season,
I think a returning season like this,
I think it matters even more.
And it's our job to mention that.
Yeah.
That's right.
And I'm still seated.
I'm still online.
I'm doing it, but I'm just playing it.
My point was that it should have been better
because there are those qualified people
that did not make the list.
And then talking about a different split,
what do you guys think about this new era versus old era
because it's 12 and 12,
but you look at the new era and 11 of them are from 45 to 49,
one of them are from 41 to 44.
And then before that, we really don't have,
we have a couple from the 30s,
no new players from the 20s, and then a couple of really don't have we have a couple from the 30s No new players from the 20s and then a couple old old schoolers
Yeah, I definitely think it puts the old schoolers at a different disadvantage because I see people like a Mike White
I see people like an Angelina assimilating into the new school era, right?
like and so I feel like it makes me worry for my my people like
Jenna like, you know, like, it's just easier numbers wise, but again,
we'll have to see how they split the tribes up. We could be a two season tribe, could be a three
season tribe, but I mean, I think with the colors that we voted for, it was three, but it could have
been pre-merge and emerge, not just like the three colors, but again,
overall I'm excited.
I think looking at, I like how it's 12 and 12,
12 pre-40 and 12 after 40.
I think the imbalance with it skewing to the later seasons
in 40 is a little bit interesting,
but I like that it's 12 and 12 and I'm
interested, interested to see how it goes. Like again, in
winners at war, it wasn't a coordinated effort, but the
people from the older seasons got picked off first and um,
I'm interested to see how things go this time. I don't
think that that's gonna happen. I think that I think that there's a possibility that that can happen.
I think that we might be surprised though.
I think it might, I think that.
And then what do we think about the idea of, okay,
so 11 of the 24 from the last, from 45 through 49,
this idea of like recency bias in survivor casting.
We see it on a lot of all-star
seasons, right? Like second chances, we had a lot of people from 30, 29, 28. Winners at
war, we had a big strip like Nick, Wendell, Ben, Sarah, Adam, like all the winners. Do
we feel like the recency stuff is important with the casting in terms of keeping people engaged with newer people or do we wish it was just like recency out the window
best people from any time ever? I think go ahead Bryce I think and I feel like I get this from
Wendell a little bit but I definitely think they are trying to feed the franchise.
And I think the younger, the newer cast is what's bringing in the younger audience
or the younger audience might just be more familiar with them.
So from a standpoint like that, I understand it.
Right. I was going to say just that, like we have to like, you got to wear a few hats
when you're looking at this franchise.
And one is like the business hat and understand like the direction and whatnot and say, you
know what, there was a lot of noise just made in this in 48.
And who knows what's going to happen 49.
So they grabbed a couple of them.
And so like, we're going to make sure we keep whatever this momentum is and
move forward with that. And I think that's why it's skewed.
Yeah.
But I also feel like it hearing the discourse being on Reddit, being on Twitter and seeing
what the people are saying, it definitely gives a disconnect from Survivor and the fan
base. Right. Because again, like that's what I'm thinking.
I'm like, oh, they want to keep the younger fan base
and they're going to eventually get older.
And so like, I get that, but also it's like,
some of these young kids is talking old school heavy names.
And so that's why I feel like it's such a disconnect
at times and it's hard to please everybody.
But what you got, Jay?
That's a great point, Bryce.
I think there's another layer to the disconnect
of Survivor production.
You also consider like CBS's hand and everything.
That might be different.
There's the hardcore fans that are going to be on Reddit
that are rooting for those old school names.
But then you think about the fans, the casual fans,
the everyday American who's not on Reddit,
who just tunes in every season and watches.
And for better or for worse,
like I think that's why recency bias is important
because those fans might see a Joe Hunter and be like,
oh, I just saw him.
Like, I'm excited to watch him.
They might not see like a Shane Powers or a Sean Rector
and really know who that is.
Even though I think having a Shane Powers
or a Sean Rector would probably make for better season of Survivor than, I mean, not a Joe specifically, but maybe
someone who's recent who doesn't have as strong of a legacy or, you know, not to call it,
but just as a general recent person versus an old school sort of legend that might not
be getting the look.
But I guess in casting, that's sort of the reason. Because if you stack the cast with people from like the survivor, like teen era, like
the teens, as in like 11 through 19 or 20s, the casual viewer might not be as excited
to watch.
So it's kind of a balance of like, what's going to make the season better, but what's
going to get people to tune in.
If they're looking at viewership and they're,
if they're seeing viewership go up after a while or whatever,
and it's like starting to climb again, then yeah,
I think it makes sense.
And again, like they have to think of all those things,
Jack, especially like, and when you mentioned like
a Sean Rector and I don't want to like feed any gossip
or false narratives.
I thought I saw a tweet saying something like he said, he pulled out after hearing that
the sepia wasn't going or something like that.
That may or may not be true.
I might have seen that already or something like that.
And then I feel like when it came to Penner, I feel like I read something that it might
have been health related or something like that.
But again, I don't want to spread any, you know, because I've also seen him tweeting
that, you know, he's, well, yeah, who knows why certain people didn't make it or did make
it.
But I just mean that the sentiment of like, those old school players like a Sean, like
a Shane, like a Natalie Boland, like a, I mean, Rob Cessner is a little bit different
because of the empire he's built.
But obviously being an old school, it's like the average viewer who doesn't know what R-Hap is might not remember a Rob,
even though I think him being on the season
would make for great TV.
It's more about how do we hook the people,
the audience to come watch,
but then how do we have the great characters
to keep them watching?
But also remember that in some of these seasons,
like a Sean Rector season,
that's when Survivor had 20 million viewers, right?
And so Sean Rector is not my favorite person in the world,
but what I will say is, is that the amount of discourse
that I saw of people being excited for him
to potentially be on the season,
it lends to the fact of like, maybe some of,
during the bigger seasons,
they had, like, it could pull in. It lends to the fact of like maybe some of during the bigger seasons.
They had like it could pull in. And so how much if how much if you're a company, do you look to gain new followers?
Keep your old keep the base in.
Why isn't a marketing tactic to maybe go back a little like, you know,
go back and tap some of the old fans
on the shoulders and say, Hey, hey, hey, hey, hey.
I'm sure these are conversations they're having at CBS, like every day leading up to this.
You know what I mean? But the last thing I'll say, and I don't want that. Sorry. Remember
when we compared a survivor to the challenge, Bryce, I think you and I spoke candidly with
one each other. And essentially I said, like, when I've been to like the challenge, Bryce, I think you and I spoke candidly with one each other. And essentially I said, like,
when I've been to like the challenge events,
it looks like, it just looks older.
And I think CBS was survivor.
I think they're trying their best
to like continue to pour in and grab the younger audience
and cultivate that.
And I think that's what's one of these reasons
why Survivor has been so successful.
So, yeah, I think they're doing their best to keep on, like, to try to gain more and
pour into the young people especially.
And it's obviously a balancing act.
And speaking of season one, we have Jenna Lewis
from season one, she placed eighth place
and on Survivor All-Stars, she placed third place.
I know a lot of people, I'm excited for her.
I know a lot of people, when it came to this conversation,
they're like, where's Jerry?
And it's like, mind you, I love me some Jerry too,
but I don't necessarily remember Jenna from season one as I wasn't
born yet, but I definitely remember her in all stars and
I'm excited to have her back.
Yeah.
I mean, it's fun to have some Borneo representation.
Uh, Jenna, I think is a, is a strong game player.
I think she'll adapt pretty well to the new era
and be ready to go.
Season one, I mean, there's a couple other great season one
people that would have been awesome,
like a Greg Weiss or a Colleen Haskell,
but who even knows?
A Ramona?
A Ramona, I mean, but who even knows?
Well, Jervis was on Blood First Water, you know what I mean?
But yeah, yeah.
But yeah, I think Jenna's gonna be a lot of fun.
It's cool to have someone from the original
25 years later and just kind of see how it shakes out.
It's someone who hasn't played obviously since season eight.
So I kind of love those old school people
because it's a whole, it's like,
what have they been up to the last 15, 20 years?
Like they might come into the game as like,
basically a whole new player.
And that's something that's exciting.
Right.
Rather than seeing someone who played, you know, a year ago where it's like, all right,
it's going to, I mean, they can be a fan favorite, but it's going to be a pretty similar style.
It's pretty similar story.
So.
Okay.
Okay. Well, we could go on to Goldie Donaldson from the Outback second place from All Stars 12 place.
Good to know that him and Jenna have played together.
Again, I also do love the connections that at least everyone has with at least two people,
which is interesting.
And then Heroes versus Villains is where I remember him the most
from season or he plays fifth place.
So I don't really remember that much about Colby,
but I'm interested to find out what he looked like now.
And yeah, I think Colby is an interesting one for me because.
Kind of universally considered considered, you know,
was the American hero sort of his first few seasons.
Heroes vs. Villains was kind of a dud.
I think he would even like, he kind of lost his will to compete on that season.
Like he, there was that quote he had that he felt like Superman in a fat suit.
He wasn't the same old Colby that he had once been.
And now it'll be interesting 15 years later, pretty much.
Is it like what version of Colby are we gonna get?
That to me is what's intriguing.
And I hope we get that.
I mean, it's been so long since he's played now
that I'm hoping he comes in with a new revitalized perspective
of the game.
I know he's not necessarily the most, at least on Heroes vs Villains, there's that conversation
he had with Candace where he was trying to figure out who people even were.
So it's like he's sending on a journey and he gets to acknowledge his power.
I'm curious.
He's going to go to Jenna and going to go to Jenna Jenna. What is this like?
Colby going to have some problems on his season with Q.
Three tribes.
Right. But what also is interesting that you just said though, Jack, you said like he was
one of the original like golden boys. And so how interesting is it to have a him,
a Jonathan, and now a Joe, right?
A similar evolved archetype to see how they will play together.
Like, again, some of these like themes that as we talk with different people
and seeing the other people on the season with them,
that is as theor fan in me,
that's what makes it so interesting.
On Heroes, Villains, didn't Coach have a wrestling
challenge with Kobe?
And I feel like Coach got the best of him,
if I'm not mistaken.
Oh, again, I wasn't born, I got the best of him if I'm not mistaken. Ooh.
I don't, again, I wasn't born, or I wasn't like able to cognitively remember
at that point in time.
Maybe I don't remember fully, but I feel like Colby.
I think you might be right.
I talked to him and he dog walked him.
I feel like-
Definitely, or Colby definitely was not
on his same challenge game.
And that's a great point though,
because now we're thinking about a couple of these old scores were all on Heroes vs. Villains together, and that's a great point though, because now you're thinking about a
couple of these old scores were all on Heroes vs. Villains together and that's an iconic season.
It'll be interesting to see what's the dynamic between like a Colby, a Saree, a coach going to be like out here.
Then we got Stephanie Kendrick who played on Panama, 7th place, Guatemala, second place, and Heroes vs. Villains, 19th place.
I'm excited. I think that she looks, I think she looked better than she did back then. And
she's a player. And she's one of the older school players that I'm excited about, where I feel like
there's going to be a resurgence of her in some way, shape,
or form that's going to be able to assimilate into this new, like, again, I think of, could
you imagine Stephanie and Adi together? Right? Like I just, it's the way that I could see
people working together excites me. And I just, I feel like Stephanie still has the
will, the knack. I feel like Stephanie still has the will,
the knack.
I've recently seen her.
She looks, Stephanie looks great.
Yeah, she's a strong, she's strong.
She's still, I feel like we saw it.
Hearts recently or something.
And didn't she do the traders with Suri?
Come on, Connection, come on.
I don't know if she was on the same traders as Serena.
Still.
Or was she?
But so yeah.
What?
Because Serena won season one of the traders, right?
Stephanie was on.
Okay so.
Well yeah, well regardless like.
I might be wrong.
I don't know.
In the game, like she's, you know, playing the traders.
It's a different game than Survivor,
but it gets you back in the game.
And so I think it'll be, I think she'll be strong out there. It'll a different game of survivor, but it gets you back in the game. And so
I think it'll be I think she'll be strong out there. It'll be great to see her. Yeah
Initially, I wasn't like crazy
Thrilled but I do think as an old school like she's got game
She's not afraid of you know, a little confrontation or to stir the pot So I think she'll be good good representation for the old school to adapt to the new era.
I mean, the traders showed that,
but also thinking about like, okay,
she was just on the traders.
So we kind of saw, like if you were missing Stephanie,
well, you just saw a little bit.
So now it's like, you know,
hopefully she comes out though and plays hard.
And you know, she's strategist, she's physical,
she's social.
So yeah, I think she can do well.
And before we go to the next person,
let me just be clear.
That sometimes I do be like, okay, oversaturated,
we've seen this somebody multiple times.
Normally I'm like, I don't need to see them anymore.
Okay, but let me just be clear.
Gotta be sorry.
This person could be on the Price is Right.
This person could be on Judge Judy.
This person could be on Survival 1 through 45.
This person could have played the challenge.
This person could have been on the Traders.
This person could be knocking at my door right now,
trying to sell me solar panels on my roof.
There will never be a time that I will say
it is too much of mother.
Mother, Sarif feels, okay?
You got it right, CBS.
You got this one right, okay?
Period, and that's all I got to say.
And I will take no slander.
So Jack and Wendell tread lightly.
And Wendell.
Yeah, because everything is family.
Saree is family.
Period.
We know.
We'll be on the people's court.
We know Jared as poo.
Exactly.
We are family. So there will be no slander over here. Jack. We are family.
So there will be no slander over here.
Jack, watch your word.
Yeah.
Now, I love I love Serene.
Honest opinion.
Oh, well, if you want the honest, I love Serene.
And like you said, you can kind of have her on anything.
And you're always going to enjoy it.
I'm getting there.
You say no slander and you can't even let me like, like she's never
she never misses. But just my one thing is her to buy. All right. Okay. We don't need
you. He out of here like window and winners at war.
The thing I'm interested in seeing is that she's done a lot of shows recently.
Traders, Big Brother, she did Australian Survivor, which I think is coming out before this.
I'm curious to see what Suri is going to bring to this season that we haven't seen before.
Now Suri could just be there and be Saree and it's gonna be great.
So you can never go wrong by having her on the cast.
But she's played survivor,
if you include Australian survivors.
He said butt!
He said butt again!
He said or not, man?
He said he permanently did!
Only butts?
We need to be seeing this on my Instagram with Ozzy.
Okay.
I'm trying to tell you. I won't say anything.
I just think that, I think a lot of people would agree.
Like it's been a lot of, like I love Saree,
but it's just a lot of Saree, so I'm hoping.
You said but again.
You said but.
Jack, this could be a whole new band.
Jack, do I have to go say it for you
because you always loud and wrong.
You're right, that was three strikes on the butt.
So I'll leave it be.
I love to hear it.
Random though.
My scrolling through TikTok, what I say is a post.
All I see is the comment of Jack saying loud and right.
That took me out, Jack.
Okay.
Yeah, it was with Mitch.
I had to show love.
So, but again, I think Serise interesting
because any game she plays or any season she's on,
taking her out is always a challenge.
Like if you're able to successfully do it,
it's always like an interesting tribal.
It's always a scramble.
It's always a hustle.
So just her being there is going to add that dynamic. And also I'm curious to see with like the newer players, they might have look at Saree with a lot of reverence. I'm like, that's Saree.
Like she's a legend. I'm curious to see are they are they she's a legend and we need to
take her out or is she a legend? We all want to work with Saree because she's a legend.
But then you might have some old schoolers that play with her like heroes with villains
that voted her out like a Colby
that are just like, I don't care about Saree.
So it'll be interesting to see.
She's just got like her name carries so much weight
that it's sort of like, how is that going to send
ripple effects through Survivor 50?
She's not the only person that's going to be on this season
that name carries weight.
Okay, some of y'all know him as Ozzy.
I know him as Oscar.
Excited to see Ozzy back on the island.
I know he left in good spirits.
I know he left feeling loved.
I know he left feeling warm. And I know he left feeling loved. I know he left feeling warm and I know he left on empty.
So I'm excited to see an Ozzy out there.
Again, thinking about some of our connections, right?
I remember at Bryce and Wynn when Wynn was out filming The Goat
and you know, Baby Boy was out here holding down BWP.
Jonathan came to Pittsburgh and Jonathan and Ozzy like met. was out filming The Goat and you know, Baby Boy was out here holding down BWP,
Jonathan came to Pittsburgh and Jonathan and Ozzy like met.
And when I tell you, Jonathan was so excited
to meet an Ozzy.
And so again, it's these connections that partly,
you know, price to win, but like,
but just these connections that I know Jonathan, in
his preparation of Survivor, watched Ozzy Seasons. And so it'll be interesting to see
like how Ozzy and Jonathan will work. Also Ozzy is, his name might not hold as much weight
in the Survivor community as Saree, but let's be clear, Ozzy's name holds some weight.
He is a challenge beast.
And so it'll be interesting to see
how my man does out there, okay?
Sorry, Austin.
You know, okay.
Ozzy came before you, but Austin,
Mama Eve Austin is still there.
But listen, my man, my man, my man, Ozzy.
So y'all best to get ready for the bucket on season 50
because between Colby, between Ozzy,
I keep it cute with Jonathan, okay?
I'm just, Jonathan's just there,
but we still got Daddy Joe, okay?
And shoot, I mean, we got Christian Yvicki too.
Okay, so something about the smart guys go.
Okay, something about somebody who can do your taxes.
He's doing more than taxes, Christian, but okay, Bryce.
When the whole place back for a second.
You can tread like I you.
This is okay.
I'll say I think of all the whole cast.
I think I'm the least excited to see Ozzy.
I don't know.
Okay.
All right.
We not doing no Jack.
Gotta let him talk.
I don't know if you hung out with him before Game Changers,
because it looked like someone sucked the life out of him
on Game Changers, and that's what you do.
This felt like a very much like CBS was like,
we need our classic big name golden boy, Ozzy.
But from what we saw on Game Changers,
it just doesn't seem like he has that go in him anymore.
Like he was pretty dry on Game Changers.
He's not really that competitive,
whether it's the strategy or even as much the challenges anymore.
He's always going to be that golden boy who's who's crushing it in the wild.
You could get an 80 year old Ozzy.
He's probably still going to countries and get coconuts.
But from what we saw on Game Changers is like,
do you guys remember anything Ozzy did on Game Changers?
Not really.
And I'm hoping, for me being the least excited to see Ozzy,
I'm hoping he shatters those, like right,
it can only go up for me
and I'm hoping that he breaks those expectations.
I know he's your man, your man, your man.
But yeah, that was just sort of my thing is like,
we just saw him on game changers somewhat recently.
And it maybe things have changed.
I don't know him like that, but it just wasn't what,
what's Ozzy gonna give us now that he didn't give us
on game change.
Things have changed with Ozzy.
Yeah.
A different post game changers.
A lot has changed in Ozzy's world.
And I'm actually, I'm interested to see what he does out there.
What are the main things,
and then they don't have to be personal
because I don't want to air in business,
but what do you think has changed?
As people that know him,
what do you think can be different?
I think that maybe the million dollars right now
could be a little more appetizing.
I mean, there's always going to be appetizing,
but again, I definitely think Ozzy will, I think he'll deliver,
but you're right.
It was a little something, something.
I want to tell the story about the conversation Ozzy had,
me and Ozzy had in the bathroom.
You think it's appropriate to say, Wendell?
I don't remember this conversation.
So funny story, Jay.
That Ozzy in a bathroom is dangerous.
Well, we were in the bathroom together.
But anyway, Ozzy, again, this is during the time
that like the internet was really heavy on like Bryce,
like, you know, when people were putting out
those fictitious lists that I was on the list.
And so I was in the bathroom with Ozzy and like it was funny, because Ozzy was like, you know, when people were putting out those fictitious lists that I was on the list. And so, uh, I was in the bathroom with Ozzy and like, it was funny
cause Ozzy was like, I've been hearing a lot. I've been hearing your name a lot.
And my, my dumb behind is thinking like,
Ozzy is not true. Like, you know, but like in reality,
I feel like Ozzy essentially was saying like,
you know, I'm gonna be the big spoon out there.
Like, so I just, in retrospect of the conversation,
it's just interesting to think that like,
a great guy.
And the only support,
the most support I would have for Ozzy
is that if you were out there too,
we could get a show mass, get some representation.
So if you were out there too, we could get a show mass, get some representation. So if you were out there, Bryce,
I would have been really excited for you
to be able to hang out with Ozzy, just for your sake.
Don't post it.
So let's also talk to another great Benjamin coach, Wade.
I'm excited for the Dragon Slayer to return.
I also feel like, in my personal opinion
of watching the Dragon Slayer's social media,
there was a point in time that the Dragon Slayer
was putting out videos, this is again,
when the 50 was big, the Dragon Slayer was putting out
videos essentially saying, don't, you won't see him on 50.
He's gonna say no because he has retired.
And so I think maybe the dragon slave
was feeling some type of way,
because then a month later, all of a sudden,
and I think some of these photos are still up,
you go to Coach's Instagram and there's photos of him
doing the coach thing with survivor,
hashtag survivor 50, CBS eyes, right?
And so-
Yeah, he has a, in social media,
he does not give a shit about it.
Yeah, but what I love about it is,
is I think that he successfully put himself on CBS's radar.
And so sometimes you do be, you see people all the time,
Wendell, like, you know, at CBS, like, hi.
I don't at CBS.
It's not a CBS comment that I do not see Jack
or Wendell in, okay?
No.
Yes.
Even now with Coach, it's funny
because even the last few days,
like when the cast got teased he was just posting
like something has changed in my heart like I think I don't have a deal with
in about a week we're gonna see coach just like vlogging on the beach in Fiji like mid-game like how do you have your phone coach? No one has a phone out here but but you coach. Yeah. Wrote something like even on like his story.
It said I received a call.
I love coach.
I'm really excited to see coach.
The reason why first of all coaches is great TV period.
But the reason why I am even more excited as to why I am aesthetic about single coach.
Think about the original integrity alliance.
Think about where we get the strong at the end.
I wanna sit next to the strongest person.
Like think about that and think about having a Joe out there.
Like that's crazy.
That will agree.
That's there's definitely a lot of a couple of guys with that mindset
coming this season, but I'm hoping that's not what we get this season.
I mean, yeah, if we do not want 50 to be like 48, let's make that very clear.
It is funny, though.
I wonder if Coach was watching 48 and saw Joe
would be like, are we are we back? Like should I go on survive? But he posted that thing
like Survivor 50 I might be down if this is our play.
Yeah, you already know that like Joe coach Ozzy and Colby and Jonathan are gonna have
a mean alliance going out there.
I pray to God it doesn't work. It will be interesting.
Can I share with you a text message I received from Coach?
Wait, wait, wait.
Only if you say when.
When?
This week?
Tuesday.
Ah!
Not he texted you at the airport!
7.43 a.m.
Okay, wait, wait, wait.
I need for you to read coaches in your voice and yours in your voice.
Please set the scene.
What were you doing at the time?
The only thing I can say is what he wrote right here.
But time out. Where were you? Were you driving? Were you see a king? The only thing I can say is what he wrote right here. But time out, where were you?
Were you driving?
Were you in your bed?
I don't know where I was.
OK.
I told him it's 7 AM on Tuesday.
And mind you, isn't he on the West Coast?
Yes.
So what time is that, Jay?
It would have been like 4.45.
He was probably flying over to LAX to go to the.
He was packing. He's packing. Okay. Read it coach.
Wait, is it a photo? I just I just screenshot it so y'all wouldn't see our whole conversation.
It says what's your biggest party you want me to at 2026?
Hold up the bridges. The bridges. Hold up. Now time out. Ooh, ooh, ooh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, ohQ are on the island like, yo, which ones are we pulling up to?
What?
Why?
Why not?
She's like, you think they can do one in Buffalo?
Can you imagine?
Can I bring my tongue ready?
Jack, can you imagine getting ready to go on Survivor
and you packing your clothes and you like...
Hold on a second.
I'm going and you're going like,
how does March 27th in Buffalo have 26 for a party?
Got to go.
I'm going in my flight to Fiji.
I'll catch you in 14 hours.
I was just packing my feather and I thought. Ha ha ha ha.
Ha ha ha ha.
Ha ha ha ha.
He's going to roll up to the VIP section of the party.
They're like, where's your land yard?
And he just, he points to the feather.
He's like, that's the VIP right there.
You see this?
Oh my god. Not the VIP right there. You see this? Oh my God.
Not the best of y'all.
Coach, Q might have to take a bad seat.
Why is Coach already delivering?
Now, I do love this from Coach,
because I'm glad, I mean, he's at the forefront of this,
of the fact that the Bright Key One presents
season 50 parties.
Those are going to be especially with or without coach, but especially with coach.
I mean, those these characters getting together at a price.
And I just already know he say Wendell's name. I just know he say Wendell.
I just know.
He doesn't call him. He calls him my brother.
With the heads.
He calls him like the like the creep, the creeping gecko or something like crazy.
Oh, that's that just took me out.
I am screaming.
So listen, I better get ready for season 50.
Okay, Coach is already.
Hey, Wendell.
Wendell, Wendell, what are you doing?
April, 2026? Okay.
And from coach, we did have.
Can I play the trumpet party?
He's gonna walk us in playing the trumpet.
We have Aubrey. We first seen her on Koran second place.
Game changers fifth place in Age of Extinction.
Sixteen plates.
I love Aubrey.
I'm excited to see her back.
I, I, yeah, I'm excited. see her back. I, I, yeah, I'm excited.
I think her I feel like her gameplay is almost similar to like a racial of season 47.
So it's like just interesting to see some of like we see these evolved archetypes
and now kind of like the original or the originator, because at the time of her season
of like the original or the originator because at the time of her season in Koran, right, it was so sparsely different than like a Michelle's game. And so I always love Aubrey, so I'm
excited to see her back.
Yeah, what I'm excited for is she's real smart. And if you recall on season 46, our main man Q,
he said something to the effect of,
I think it might've been Kenzie said that Aubrey's her
favorite character.
It was Moe, right.
That was what he used to go against Moe, like,
she said she likes Aubrey, so that means she's smart.
So that means I gotta get her outta here.
Yeah, you already know that point, Q and Aubrey
probably have been in the same spot. Hey, of here. Yeah, you already know they're putting Q and Aubrey. Aubrey said, get there. You already know.
And Aubrey's legacy stands on its own.
But it's funny to imagine Survivor when they think about who would Q have fun with.
It's like, let's call up Aubrey.
Aubrey is interesting to me because her last two outings,
even when she got fifth on Game game changes, definitely have kind of gone
a lot of time compared to a really strong game in Koran.
So I could see her struggling on the season, but I could also see those recent struggles
reducing her threat level and then opening the game kind of, and I could see her doing
really well.
So that's a sort of level of intrigue that I'm really excited about with Aubrey.
So I'm very curious to see how she does,
especially coming off of like 38
where they made her look kind of bad.
So it's like, we'll see how she can recover.

Wendell, you got your glasses?
Jack, you got a pair of glasses?
Sorta, yeah.
Why?
Are these glasses for me or are these general glasses?
No, I'm about to...
Oh.
I'm about to make another blanket statement.
Oh, we won the Purple Pants Survivor News podcast.
This next person.
Is the true definition of a survivor,
and people could whittle and pittle about all this person, this person,
but survivor definitely got it right when they gave our girl Chrissy
Hoffback a callback. She's only played once. Heroes, hustlers, villas. She came a second
heroes, hustlers, village. Okay. On that village, the Heroes Hustlers Village, okay? Cause she wasn't a villain, but again.
What was the name of the season, Bryce?
Heroes, Healers, and Hustlers.
There you go.
She got second place, okay?
She was dynamic that season.
I also feel like she kind of ushered in,
and although Chrissy is not an older woman by any means,
because Wendell is older than her,
however, in these later seasons,
like I think of season 45, right?
With Dee and Mama Tina, that is Julie, right?
And their connection.
So I, again, I think of that and I think of like, wow,
I wonder how a Dee would work with a Chrissy.
However, we know in Chrissy's life with breast cancer,
like she was so open and transparent and changing lives
and speaking about that,
like she's been to one of our Boston party,
like she is just amazing.
And I am excited to see what our girl Chrissy is gonna do.
So again, we ain't taking no Chrissy slander over here.
Yeah, I thought the glasses were going on
because you were about to like throw some shade or expecting some shade, but now I'm very excited for Chrissy slander over here. Yeah, I thought the glasses were going on because you were about to like throw some shade
or expecting some shade, but now I'm very excited
for Chrissy.
Heroes, Heroes, Hustlers was really fun.
Wish my boy Devin was out there too,
but Chrissy was great.
I mean, she's strategic.
He loved Devin.
He crushed it in the challenges,
but she's also not afraid to stir the pot a little bit,
create a little bit of conflict,
which I think is really exciting.
I could see her fitting in with a lot of different groups
in the season and doing quite well.
And also, you know, hearing about her story with,
you know, after, since season 35 is incredible.
Yeah, and I, she just seems like a great person
to have out there.
And yeah, we know her in real life
and she's a great person in real life.
She's so strong, She's so brilliant.
She has an incredible smile.
It's very welcoming.
Like she's going to meet people and connect with people.
I have high hopes for Chrissy.
We love her.
She, like you said, Bryce is a true survivor.
I think she's I think she can do very well out there.
Pen grad.
OK, and then we got Christian Hubecky. Hube Ubicki, okay, from the David first Goliath. He plays seventh place. I think that Christian is going to be in his Cochrane era this season.
And y'all hoes better watch out. Okay. And listen, I love Christian, but the one thing I love more is Christian's,
I believe now, wife, Emily!
And so for the potential,
having an Emily back on our screen,
and again, Christian is, he's interesting,
and he's funny, and he's smart, and he's witty,
and he's like all of these things
that I think are going to make great TV. And again, I'm calling it now, he's in his he's witty and he's like all of these things that I think are going
to make great TV. And again, I'm calling it now. He's in his Cochrane era, second time
Cochrane plea.
We're going to get family business this season too. I'm calling it.
Christian is kicking off my favorite little run of returnees here.
Like Christian is one of my all time favorites.
Surprise, surprise.
What does that even have to do with anything?
I can't like David Guest go live.
Christian's one of my favorites at all times.
Oh, you mean like,
you got my usual, not my usual archetype.
I mean, he fits two, he fits two of the three descriptions my usual archetype. I mean, he fits to he fits two or three descriptions of your archetype.
It's fair, but, um, no, I love Christian.
Very excited to see him back.
What are the all time survivor character that's been, you know,
having only been on one season, it's been long enough.
Can't wait to see him again.
Yeah, there's. So many good things to say about Christian.
He's just dynamic TV, really fun player.
So I'm really, really thrilled.
Awesome.
Close your eyes.
Picture this.
Maybe like four people voted out.
It's a tribe swap.
You got Quintavious.
And you got Christian. Maybe like four people voted out. It's a tribe swap.
You got Quintavious and you got Christian.
And Quintavious is trying to go to Christian
to make a move.
Can you imagine what that conversation is going to be like?
We can say that with Q and anyone this season,
but him and Christian is gonna be.
Oh my God.
Oh my God.
Oh my God.
Oh my God.
And imagine if Q thinks Christian is a snake.
Okay, like, can you all like.
That little smart man.
That smart little strong man.
Big mistake.
He came out here and used the big words.
Big mistake.
Well, I'm sorry, Quintavious.
I just, I had an apothecy
that you were not going to wanna make the move
because you said you wanted to quit four times
before the game even started.
So I just used my obtuse angle to figure out that it
would be less than worthy of me to why Christmas is canceled. Okay.
Do we think when Q goes to is talking to Aubrey, do you think he's going to go to other places
and be like, she reminds me of an Aubrey. She's dangerous. I feel like the producers are like,
we're going to, that clip is going to play itself again.
Oh, a thousand percent.
Oh yeah. Oh yeah.
Another. Yeah, very excited.
Yeah.
The only thing we skipped over
in going from season 35 to 37
was season 36.
And there was a little snub from 36. No, no.
Why not say Dom?
Dom, Dom.
Oh, oh, okay.
Now, oh.
Yeah, yeah.
All right.
Where'd you think he was going?
Himself?
I was gonna say, no, I think CBS made the right call.
But no, we missed out on Dom.
We missed out on my, who am I?
It's Brendan Shapiro, Bradley.
Why do you laugh at him?
Why do you laugh at Aaron Shapiro?
Laurel.
Was Brendan in the season for season 50 you think?
He was.
Not too much on Brendan.
Yeah, Brendan was fine.
I think, yeah, I thought he was going to do really well.
Bradley.
Wasn't Brendan like the fourth person out?
I'm going to be nice.
Well, this season, the worst placement of any player
on their first go was Tiffany eighth place.
So everyone is, you know.
Pretty stacked the solid.
Now I could have used a couple pre-merges,
notably a couple Cagayan pre-merges,
but I'm just saying, I don't know if Brendan Shapiro
landed on his calves.
I think people would have had a lot of-
Not too much on the dance.
Is that the producer?
Is he on the All Fire podcast?
Get out of the frame.
Somebody get the Dream Team guy out.
Is that Matt Baywack?
Someone who I am very excited for,
who placed third on her season,
Miss Angelina, before she left,
she posted a reel or a montage of her in different coats.
I think that Angelina was an interesting archetype
when we seen her.
I think a lot of people were 50-50 on her gameplay, right?
But I thought that Angelina was interesting.
She spoke up, she advocated for herselfina was interesting. She spoke up.
She advocated for herself.
She did all the things.
I think that she is an amazing woman.
I think since playing, she's a mother now of two.
And so I think a lot changes.
And so I'm excited for my girl Angelina to return.
Yeah, she's a strong, brilliant woman.
And on survivor 37, she was a little, um, I don't,
I maybe if her self awareness wasn't locked in or something,
but something about her made her so hilarious to watch and everything she did
out there. And so to have her come back selfishly,
I want her to be not as self-aware. But I think that seeing herself on TV, being a mother,
and having some time away might change her game a little bit,
though I hope she is as entertaining as she was.
I mean, she's fantastic.
Like, very excited for her.
She's one of a kind.
Like, David versus Goliath,
one of the greatest new, one of the greatest seasons period,
one of the greatest new player seasons up there
with Kage on, but obviously-
I think David versus Goliath might surpass us.
I don't know, that's probably, you know,
but David Goliath, yet to have any returnees, obviously,
aside from Nick on Winners at War,
but so many good characters on there so
I'm excited that we get three of them you know Christian Angelina and our next one. Yeah and then
we go to our next Mike White uh second place on David versus Goliath. I love it I was so excited
to see him with his fame and success now.
It's like, did we think Mike White was going to be able to like, he's the writer director
of one of the most popular shows on TV.
Like, was he going to be able to take time off?
But I love that he is so dedicated to Survivor that he's making it happen.
And like, it's I think it's just gonna be so he was a great character on David versus Goliath period like the scene
with him roaming around with like a wine glass looking
around in the sand for like the clue hilarious so funny and
then also just the whole component of him now being like
he was famous on David versus Goliath but he's like another
level right now. And so I'm very curious to see like,
how does that play into other players' approaches
to working with Mike?
Is he gonna be a target or is he gonna be someone
that they want to appeal to because they're like,
damn, I could get on Wai Lotus, you know?
That's it.
They're all gonna be sucking up to him
because they wanna be on the show.
And he is a great character. He's hilarious to watch. He's fun to watch.
So I'm very excited to see Mike White back out there.
Not only will everyone be sucking up to him, you got he's probes his buddy.
So like now I'm worried. Is he going to get some preferential treatment out there or something like that?
But Mike White makes for a fun cast and a fun show.
So I'm excited to see Mike White out there.
And there's that component of like, if you're if you're worried,
everyone's going to be sucking up to him, then are you like,
well, if everyone's sucking up to him, like, do we have to take him out?
You know what I mean? So I think that's a it's an interesting.
That too. I feel like we should have prepped Q and told Q to really suck up to him.
Now, the only thing I'll say
About this cast if we're gonna move off of Mike White is we have another
extremely notable snub
from
David Goliath
Yes, Davey should have been out there. Davey was an
extraordinary player. He has stayed active in the community.
He is great and sad that Davey is not out there.
And if we think about it, Davey could have won that season.
I think it was down to him and Nick,
and whoever was going to win immunity at that one point,
the other one was going to get picked off by the Goliaths or whatever.
And that would have put him, I think, in Final Four or
something like that.
Like,
Davey could have won that season.
He's hilarious. He's a great character.
He's great for TV.
And, yeah, it sucks to not see him.
I think Davey will get another go at some point.
So I'm excited for whenever that rolls around.
I hope so. But Davey kind of he made a big
announcement yesterday that hey kind of, he made a big announcement yesterday
that he was kind of like,
he's kind of like really stepping back
from all survivor things
and pursuing something different
and creating his own space.
Like a, like a, he's doing a GoFundMe
or one of those fundraisers
for this cosplay games or something like that
where, and that's right up his wheelhouse.
Yeah.
Right.
But you never, it's like people say, I can't speak for Davey, but whenever that phone ends
up ringing, it's like, I feel like they hook you back.
It's toxic.
The Coach effect.
Right, right.
Exactly. Right, right, exactly. Well, we also have someone from Edge of Extinction,
who was very interesting, dynamic, crazy, funny,
cut toes, outplayed, like, I almost feel like his game
almost reminded me, or the evolution of his game.
I could almost see it in a Charlie.
He was one of the first survivor players to host
with Jeff Probst on on fire.
So it is cousin Ricky, Rick Devins.
He's just a great person, funny, and he's a player.
So I'm excited to see what cousin Ricky does out there.
Rick is great TV.
He he's like, he's entertaining.
He's funny.
He's a dad.
So he's, he's quirky.
He's also strangely athletic and he can like, and, and, and, um, skilled.
So like, he's a Hooper, you know, like he, he can, he can do these
things and play these games.
So.
And in a, in a, in a show where you got these like circus style games
or whatever, I think we'd be surprised with Rick Devens,
which he surprised us before.
We'll be surprised.
Good friend, love him, love his family.
Yeah, I'm really excited for Rick.
I've met him a few times at hearts
and he was always just like the nicest dude
but also phenomenal television. Kind of like one of a kind in like the role that he fills and also
just like plays so hard. Not afraid to be flashy, not afraid to be a little bombastic which you know
given the tempo of the new era lately I need a Rick Devens to come shake the game up and go hard no matter how that shakes out.
But yeah, very excited for Rick. You know Rick, even if it's for the best, I feel like Rick's
never just gonna be sitting on the sidelines. He's gonna be moving and shaking and that's gonna help
really, I think, propel the season to a really nice level. Yeah, exciting. And then we move kind of sort of into the new era and we have Jonathan Young from Survivor 42 placed fourth.
Challenge Beast. Beast. He can put his whole team on his tribe and swim them out of waters. This man is, yeah, he's gonna be interesting to watch.
Yeah, I'm not like shocked to see a Jonathan,
obviously challenge wise,
probably the most dominant, one of the most dominant ever,
definitely one of the most dominant of the new era.
My thing is like, you look at 41 through 44,
and he's the one person representing that period of survivor.
To me, there's people from his own season. I would rather see, not to mention people
from 41, 43, 44. So it's not like a personal Jonathan thing. Maybe it's more of a casting
thing, but it's like, how do we get a Jonathan, but we don't get an Omer or a Jesse Lopez
or a Carolyn or a Xander or a Ricard or a Deshaun.
Danny, Danny McCray.
I don't know.
Hey, hey, hey.
Danny's great, but like, I don't think we were expecting to see Danny on 50.
But like an Omer, a Jesse, a Carolyn.
We were expecting to see a Mike White on 50?
Like, yeah, I mean, he's one of the most,
he's probably the most famous survivor player ever.
Okay, but outside of fame?
Oh, okay.
But I don't know if you,
like that narrative is immediately compelling.
Like the Mike White who's renowned,
he's won an Emmy for the show. like to get him on the island that's immediately interesting TV but
but anyway I mean independent of that I'm talking new era right like 41 but
again you named Danny we could go on I think other players that we would have
loved to see in that mix and so to just get Jonathan independent of Jonathan
himself it's like why one guy versus
the 11 that we get from 45 to 49?
That's more like my thing.
It really flabbergasts me.
You know, when Jesse, like, and not to harp on the Jesse, but when he got cut out, I think
that's when there was rumors like, oh, there's only like three new era people or whatever.
And you were like, even still, I was like, what is your source?
No, those were like the rumors.
They weren't true.
I have those rumors and people are mad at that.
And even still with three, you were like,
how does Jesse not, but then now we have 12?
I think if you picked one new era,
if there was only one new era person,
I think there's a great case it should be.
James Jones.
It should be James Jones has. But no, I think that's more. But that's more of a
question to like the snubs and less about Jonathan. It'll be interesting to
see. But I agree. I think it says a lot but do we think
Jonathan's gonna bring something new than what you brought 42 though like you
know he's he's a challenge beast he's pretty loyal that's what we're gonna
get yeah that's what we're gonna get put him Joe and coach together this feels
like yeah this feels like another CBS of like, well, the people in rural Missouri love challenge beats.
So we need you to get a new era challenge piece.
I'll tell you what, and this could have been like
recency bias, but like,
I remember when Jonathan walked into our New York event.
And this was when we had lots of surprises and stuff
and people were like,
so like, yeah, there's a Jonathan effect. And so, for sure. Yeah. And out there, I'm
interesting to see what round two is for him. True. I mean, I'm mad. I like him a lot. So
I wasn't trying to, yeah, like it's just, it's hard because you're comparing him versus
the whole pool, like 41 to 44, but Jonathan himself, like not mad at it. I also, I grew
up as a fan of Endurance, which was like kid survivor and he was on that show. And I talked
to him a little bit about that. And he like lit up what he was talking. He has like tattoos
from his like things like referencing his time on Endurance. And he was more excited
to talk about that than I think like anything I've seen him chatting about.
So that was really cool to me.
So I'm gonna get some endurance representation
on Survivor Fish.
Yeah.
Well, then we are moving to the new, new, new era.
And our first player from season 45 is Emily Flippen.
I think that Emily is outspoken.
She's spunky and she is not afraid
with her back against the wall, like, you know,
to make moves.
So I think Emily Flippen is a fan favorite
amongst the survivor community.
So I am excited to see what Miss Flippin
won't be doing. Yeah. She was great. Oh, go ahead, Jack. I was gonna say I'm
stoked. Like Emily's so fun, good TV, strategic, but also again, doesn't shy
away from some conflict. And I think it's gonna be interesting with her too
because her arc on 45 was so, it started so tough for her and then she became a fan favorite. And
she got to experience not only playing sort of in both those ways, but also being perceived
in both those ways. So I wonder like what her, I mean, she's always, every time I've
met her, she always has great energy. So I'm sure she's gonna be a fun person to have on
the island. But I wonder in her mind, it's like she knows what it's like to be a villain and a hero.
And so I'm kind of like, how is that going to affect how she plays and how she approaches the
game? Is she going to have the confidence to just throw things at the wall and just like say whatever?
And is that going to get her in trouble? I think there's a lot of interesting dynamics with Emily.
And we saw her cut like, what made her so cool was this arc.
Like, when she was on,
when she was on the, I guess, the mat for the first time,
and I think she might have spoke out against Bruce or something.
We were so upset.
We were like, this old care, like, this, what is she doing?
You know, and then, and then, and then you watch it,
it's like the things that come out of her mouth,
you're just like, man.
And then she has the conversation
and connection with Caleb.
Caleb kind of like brings her down to earth,
gives her some game.
Caleb's out there.
Now it's like people are rooting for Emily in this game.
So we've seen so much that it's like, where does she go now?
I think in one, in one season,
it was the enjoyment of watching her go from like this extreme
to the next. So now she's already over here. She she's
got the game. Where does she go? Yeah. Yeah. Be interesting to
see. But she won't be alone. She'll be joined by her 45
winner.
by her 45 winner. G is going to be on this season.
And I was, be honest, I was a little posed to like,
I don't want winners,
but you think of a winner like G, right?
And you see how much she dominated the game.
And again, it's season 45, we're up to season 50.
It's five seasons later.
I'm not that mad at it.
And so I think that,
I think she's gonna be really well out there.
And I think she'll be well equipped with
the variety of people that we know that she can work with.
And she's a challenge beast as well.
So I think that she'll do well.
I can also see her linking up with Jonathan,
like the Florida connection.
Like there's just so many ways that,
where and which D could go.
She's a great social player.
She's a great strategic player.
I think that in the new era also,
there might be that component of,
is this a shield I could use?
Like that might be, I don't think it's as obvious
of a target as it used to be.
Like we just got to get out the winners.
I think for me, it's going to be interesting with her
and with Kyle, because again, I wasn't sure about winners,
but I think it does add an interesting little flavor
to things, and if they're a good character like Dee is,
then it's going to add to the season.
It'll be interesting with her and Kyle to sort of immediately,
because of this winner target,
maybe have their back against the wall a little bit.
And Kyle and Dee are both people that we saw
kind of play in control for most of the game.
They had a really strong alliance and they sort of.
But not a flashy game though, right?
Not a flashy game necessarily, but they were a dominant one.
Now they may have their back against the wall
and have to get flashy.
And even Dee's not afraid to like stab some people
in the back, so it's gonna be interesting
if she's back in a corner right away
because she is a winner to see how she responds to that. I think she'd get
real scrappy and I think that would be a lot of fun to watch. Even if she fizzles out early just
because of that target, like she's going to go down swinging. So absolutely. So I am excited to see
what she is going to bring on the season and then we get even newer, newer and we go to season 46 and we have Quinn.
Quinn, Quinn, Quinn, Quinn, Quinn, Quinn, Quavius is on the season and I am like,
I am like Wendyzy, very excited for a Q return.
I have to say that watching Q season, I'm like, I'm not gonna have nothing to comment
with this man.
He could do it.
I mean, but when I tell you Q is probably
one of my favorite people on this world,
there's a few survivor people that are in my Rolodex
that the only way we communicate with each other
is just by insults.
Like nothing but insults.
Like Q will call me, I'll answer, he be like,
you look ugly today and just hang up the phone.
Like that's like, you know, Q says I can't drive, you know, like it's like, and there are multiple people in this Rolodex and it is Q, it's Joe
Menna, it's Aaron Meredith, and it is Jeremy Collins where it's like, there is no normal
conversation. It's always just like, you ugly, your breath stinks. Or like if you ever see
me under any of their comments on social media, it's all negative.
But that is the way that we show love.
And I think that Q is, I think they based the season around Q.
Truly.
This is Q's season.
But here's, I got a lot to say, but I'll start off by saying this.
Bryce, remember when we were just getting to know Q.
And Q was coming to our watch parties.
You would look over and see Q, what would he be doing?
He'd be by himself, mean face, watching the TV.
And we're like, what the hell is wrong with this guy?
What's up with Buddy?
And he's like, it's a watch party.
I'm like, but Q, you on the TV.
But yeah, I'm gonna see what they gonna do.
Brice, y'all gonna, it's just,
also he had two phones,
he's texting himself on his other phone.
It's like, what are you doing, sir?
Is he getting booted this episode?
What's up with him?
No, he's trying to boot himself, quitting.
Kidding, they're not letting him quit.
That's Quintavious.
I had someone say that they, I know someone,
I think I was talking about the cast
and someone said they weren't that excited for Q
because he tried to like quit.
And I was like, you do not understand the essence of Q.
I mean, you are on the other side of the alphabet
in the wrong place.
I mean, yeah, we love Q.
Like every moment is just golden TV with Q.
Even outside of the end of the pod is just,
I mean, it's just golden moments back to back to back.
And you put them in a cast like this
with all these characters, it is going to be,
just get the Q cam on, get your Q skirt on.
Grass is a walk-in, don't play hide and seek,
come out and let him find you and find you a little
cue because it's going to be a great time.
I worry though.
I feel like Q's edit was a lot fun.
I also think that he worked off of the chaoticness, right?
I think that Q's method was cause chaos.
Like it would be break the glass and be a part of putting the glass together how you want it.
I worry with this season of veteran players
that are sharks as well.
I wonder what that looks like.
Then I also worry that like what if Q is aware of that
and then we go out and we don't get a Q,
but we get a Quintavius.
And like, I just like, it's, I don't know.
I'm nervous for our boy.
The other thing I'm nervous for, Bryce, is,
yo, homeboy's doing too much.
Let's not even let him get any traction.
Like, he's out of here.
I'm worried about that.
I'm worried about that.
I'm worried about the Tony in Game Changers effect.
You have this superhuman person and now it's like,
he's doing the most to get him out of here as soon as we can.
That's what petrifies me with R-Boy Q.
Another thing that petrified me was
in seeing Q in the last three months.
I mean, he is our boy, but they, they, the britches,
and mind you, he posted three, four times a day
of him working out, of him running,
and like, Q has physically gotten bigger.
Like, he, I mean, Q looks, he big.
Maybe he'll win a pre-match challenge this time.
Well, yeah, what all that muscle's gonna do?
So yeah, Q's been locked in.
I hit Q like, I'm like, hey Q,
all of these workout videos, like,
people know that you're strong
and you're just showing them that you're,
well, what they don't see, let me tell you,
what they don't see is that I'm studying
all of their seasons.
So he said he studied up all their seasons.
So I'm hoping that he's got something to go with it.
He also said, I work out four times a day, Wendell.
I'm only posting the two workouts.
They don't know how much I'm in the gym.
I took Wendell's phone and I hung it up.
I say, this Q, what?
Yes, so.
So yeah, Q is, nevertheless.
But we can't Q and coach on the same tribe,
baby.
Cue's connections are gonna be interesting.
A cue and a Jonathan, I think they can hit it off.
I think you'll be surprised how many people
Cue can connect with.
I even think that Tiffany,
despite how they felt on the season,
I think that they piece things up and they can be cool.
So.
It's not a matter of,
I feel like Cue can work with anybody,
but when the flip switches, that's what I worry about.
And so it's like, I need Q to control the switch.
You need to make the switch, but like, I don't know,
but I'll be tuned in, tuned in.
And then we have someone from on fire podcast from Q season.
We've got Charlie making a return and I am excited.
Well, we know this is a Jack's archetype, but I am excited for Charlie.
I think Charlie is going to kill it.
He is smart.
He takes calculated risk.
I also feel like,
love these little inside stories.
When we were in Boston, Charlie and his girlfriend Judy,
love Judy, shout out to Judy.
The night before we went to Justin,
shout out to my third boo brother, Justin.
We went to Luigi's pizza store.
And you know, we like to support our family.
Charlie and I get there at the same time
and they're like, what do you want to order?
What do you want to order?
What do you want to order?
I'm like, I don't know.
Charlie's like, I just ordered a cheese,
a large cheese pizza, Bryce.
Do you want to split it?
So yeah, let's split it, Charlie.
The cheese pizza comes.
We're talking to family and friends.
I'm noticing Charlie one slice down.
I go up to take a picture with Wendell,
come back three slices gone.
Justice family's like, you guys want cannolis?
I turn around, I say, well damn Charlie,
I mean, as we splitting the pizza
because he ate the whole pizza. And so in my mind, I, Charlie, I mean, as we split into pizza, because he ate the whole pizza.
And so in my mind, I'm like,
Charlie is a little, little, little guy.
But I'm like, are you bulking up?
He's on the queue schedule.
He's on the queue, but like, he's bulking up.
But again, Charlie knows the game.
Again, he has the On Fire podcast connection.
He's got connections with Q, with Tiffany. He's well-lik Again, he has the On Fire podcast connection.
He's got connections with Q, with Tiffany.
He's well liked.
He's smart.
I'm excited for Charlie.
Yeah, I'm really thrilled.
I mean, no surprise to Bryson, winning probably a lot of you, but Charlie and I have become,
I mean, I was rooting for Charlie during his season.
We've become buddies since then.
We played four nights together.
And Charlie's just like, just the homie. And I think he plays the game
how I would wanna play the game.
So watching him play is just,
I feel like I live vicariously through him.
And he's a great dude.
I'm really excited to see him.
I think that, Bryce, you made a great point.
I think he's got a lot of good relationships.
I think that after his season,
I feel like a lot of people
had a very sympathetic viewpoint of him
thinking he should have won
and that he was a good dude who got,
I don't wanna say Rob because Kenzie earned it as well,
but that maybe a good guy who deserved a little bit better.
So having that be the perception of you going out there
and him being a good ally to Maria
throughout the season, maybe not vice versa.
But I think people are angry
because they really wanna work with Charlie.
And Charlie's a very level-headed, good strategist,
but not anything crazy flashy,
which I think is a good ally to have,
someone who's like, okay, they're smart,
but they're not gonna start switching up
and playing crazy.
But see, that's what I am curious about, right?
Because of what the outcome of that season, I wonder like, has that changed Charlie?
Will that change how he plays?
Will that change how he aligns?
Will that change his trust level?
And so that for me is what I am most interested to see in Charlie.
How that kind of, you know.
And similar to what I said about like Dee and Kyle, Charlie was an almost winner, right?
People know he like almost won and he had a really strong hold on his season.
So it'll be interesting if there is a target on his back to see him play from like from
the bottom potentially.
Like what is Charlie?
Charlie's game was very methodical in 46 and really strategic and smart, but
always sort of had his finger on the pulse.
I'm curious if Charlie gets put in a tough spot.
I'm really curious to see what comes out of him.
Like in terms of his game plan.
I think I hope he doesn't get put in a tough spot, but I mean, that's
survivor most people end up. You know, scrappy at some point. of his game plan. I hope he doesn't get put on top spot, but I mean, that's survivor.
Most people end up, you know, scrappy at some point.
Charlie's awesome. Like, he got as close as you can get pretty much like he was right
there. Like that one other vote, I think would have tied him and then Ben said that he would
have voted for Charlie or something crazy or something crazy like that. He was as close as almost as close as Dom.
And then when Bryce, when you said Bradley,
I'm thinking Charlie's kind of like a Bradley through, you know, like Charlie's.
Charlie's that kind of guy.
So, yeah, excited to see Charlie.
Good, good, good human being. Great
person. Yeah. Great survivor player and someone who I don't think he'll have the biggest target
put on him because he's like he to the eye, he just looks middle of the road. He just
looks like the average guy, but he's got a lot going on up here. He gets along well with
all sorts of people. Yeah, exactly. and when you're on an island with Jonathan
and Q and Ozzy, it's good to look like a Charlie
or a Devons in this case.
Yeah.
Yes, and then to my surprise, a very happy surprise,
we've got another 46er, we've got eighth place,
our girl Tiffany Irvin, and bae-bae.
I am so excited they gave our queen another shot.
I think that she, being as all, she had to deal with Q.
And for her to be able to navigate that,
to still be loyal, to be making moves,
and again, I almost, it's interesting because
I see parallels in Tiffany's game and a Camilla's game,
right, where I am interested to see
what Tiffany has learned from that
and also who Tiffany can link up with.
I'm just excited for our queen.
I think that, I don't think she was on a lot
of people's radar.
She was definitely on my radar.
And I'm excited to see her out there.
I think that she is in just starting off in a great position.
I don't think she's going to be playing from the bottom.
I don't think that like her threat level is pretty neutral.
And so I think it gives her the opportunity to go anywhere she wants.
And I'm excited to see where Tiff goes.
We love Tiffany over here.
Tip like she is.
She's awesome.
She's one of my faves inside outside the community.
Like she is great.
And yeah, she had she had to contend with a
first season contiguous.
OK.
Now, now she could play, now she, yeah.
I'm excited to see where Tiff goes with this.
Yeah, I'm really excited for Tiff.
I mean, she's part of the LA crew out here.
I feel like every returning season,
sometimes there's people that you didn't quite expect
to maybe make the season.
And a lot of times, like you think about a Wentworth
in Second Chances, like people were surprised
she made the cut and she goes out and crushes it.
I think I could see something really similar
for Tiffany here where we maybe didn't expect her,
but I'm really excited we got her.
She's really entertaining, really funny, super witty.
And she was able, if you're able to handle her cue,
you're gonna be able to work with a lot of different types
of people and I don't think her threat level is gonna be uber high, but we know she's a player.
So I'm really optimistic for Tiffany and just excited to see her being her hilarious self on our screens.
And I think it came across on her season, but she's such a people person.
And like she is bubbly, but she's real and she can connect.
And so I think that that is going to be
such a strength of hers.
Another person, well, not another person,
but from season 47, who I am not surprised at all,
Genevieve, baby, mother.
Okay, we got a couple of mothers on this season,
but like, I don't know why I feel like,
I guess stepmom from Genevieve, like the kids don't know why I feel like, I guess step mom from Genevieve.
Like the kids don't really like her, but she, the dad love her.
She put the, you know, she, I don't know.
It's just something like that, that Genevieve got that like, rawr, that like
Genevieve don't play, she's smart.
She's willing to make moves.
I love Genevieve.
I'm excited for a Genevieve return.
Yeah. I mean, she's another person, especially new era.
We've seen a lot of, like, the gameplay slow down a little bit,
but she's not afraid to play fast.
I was very, during her season, I was pretty open about it.
I remember arguing with James Jones about the fact that I thought she made her move too early, but her making that move was great television. So I do hope that
I hope that she can combine that willingness to make moves and play hard, but also, you know, play,
time things up really well. But I'd rather have someone like a Genevieve who's not afraid to make
those moves and take those shots.
And we need that to drive the narrative
and drive the strategy of the season.
So yeah, I'm excited to have Genevieve back too.
She's definitely an icon of the new era.
And in Genevieve, we have this player
who I think learned a lot from her season.
I remember some of her confessionals
had dealt with her saying,
I'm not gonna get so close to these people because I want to be able to cut
them in the, in the, in the throat or behind their back or whatever.
And I think she learned so much because she is such a great player.
And now she's like, all right, it, I think she's going to go into this,
knowing it's a game, knowing she can get close to these people,
but knowing it's a game.
So you can make these relationships or you have the freedom
to play like that and still make these these moves. And so I think I'm excited for her to come back.
Yeah, very much so. And then we have from the most recent, our most recent winner,
we've got Kyle Frazier, the winner of season 48. Super excited for him because I think that he's great.
Not necessarily excited for him because he just won the season.
And I think he is, like you and Jack and I were saying,
like, players like Kyle and Adi, they didn't make flashy moves,
but they had control of the game, right?
I feel like Kyle, like we said before,
Kyle was out there shaking ass.
Kyle better be on a twerk master 6000 because there's just no way that his name will not
come up because he is the most recent winner.
So roll them balls.
30 inch rise, 30 inch rise coming to the side.
It's Kyle Frazier throwing the, like Kyle rise, 30 inch rise, coming to the side is Kyle Frazier,
throw them, like Kyle, no, no, Kyle needs to be,
move, get out the way, get out the way,
get out the way, move.
Okay, like Kyle needs to, he just, that, I just,
I hate that he's in this predicament.
And so it's like, I don't love that he's out there,
being as though he's the most recent winner.
And I will go on record and say, I'm happy we have these 40-8ers there.
We've got Joe, we've got Kyle, we've got Camilla.
But the fan in me, and I say this respectfully, right?
Like, I feel like from the most recent center season,
I would like to see somebody's game that I didn't really get
that was premature. Right?
I feel like we got to see how Camilla Jo and Kyle's game
ended. Right? Like I wouldn't be mad at a star.
I wouldn't be mad at a say, I wouldn't be mad at a
singer, David. Like, you know, like just,
but Kyle's out there well-des. Uh, and I'm excited.
Obviously I love Kyle.
Yeah.
I mean, I'm definitely a Kyle fan.
That's who I was rooting for this season and it worked out pretty good.
Um, I'm nervous though.
Like I think obviously they're flying out right now.
Last week they watched them win a million dollars.
That's going to be really difficult.
I'm going to be very impressed with Kyle if he makes it past a few votes.
That's a really hard position to be in, but he is a pretty loyal player.
Could be an enticing ally, could be a shield.
I think it's going to be interesting because I think inevitably he's going to have a target
on his back.
He was in control the whole game, except for that one pre-merge trouble where he had that
great idle play, which was really fun to watch.
I'm curious to see more of him with his back against the wall, making plays just like that.
And even if he fizzles out quickly just because of the target that's on his back,
I think it'll be really fun to watch if it shakes out like that. So, excited for Kyle.
Very excited for Kyle and very scared for Kyle.
Yeah.
But I respect him. I respect him just like it could tarnish his legacy per se of like
he could go out and go out early.
But I respect him just being like, oh, I just want a million dollars.
Eff it. I'm hungry.
I'm going back right now.
Like, let's let's go to work.
So yeah, I know.
Speaking of tarnishing legacies, how did winners at war fair?
Hold on. I got to run to the bathroom.
We good over here.
What?
How did winners at war?
How did that like sing?
Well, honestly, it's like that. Like, yeah, you're taking the risk when it's all winners.
Like inevitably one of the winners is gonna be the first boot.
Or the first merge boot.
But that's a risk you take.
But like, obviously I respect people taking that risk
more than being like, oh, well I played once
and I won once and I don't want to tarnish my legacy.
It's like, who cares? You already won once.
If you go home because you were a target because of that, then like it is what it is.
OK. Yeah.
Joe held you down.
I mean, when Jack had you down, Wendell.
Then we've got Daddy Joe making the return.
He's the only person that I just felt like
after the hype of this season
that I just knew would be on season 50.
Just from Probst's love for him,
I think Joe is a great player.
Be interesting to see how he does play.
I think that he has a lot of similar-minded,
strong integrity, bringing the strongest to the end.
So I think it'd be interesting to see Joe.
I would love Joe to say,
hey, I went out here this first time,
I played for my wife, my kids, my sister.
And now the second time, it's like,
I almost want Joe to come out here and play for yourself.
Yeah.
And get gritty, get nasty,
start lying to these people,
start like, stir the pot because like how Camilla and Kyle
kind of like duped you,
I think people will have this image of you.
And it's like, just start off from the back.
Just be like.
That would be an evolution of Joe that I would be really excited to see.
Now, I don't know how I said, because we saw a lot of Joe's game on 48,
and it was fairly straightforward.
Well, I don't I want to say shit because there was some complexity,
some nuance to it of like him wanting to have integrity,
but also needing to play the game.
But the thing was, he was kind of attached to Eva right from the jump.
I'm really interested to see this season how he's going to go in and navigate as like almost
a free agent now.
You know, what's his relationship like going to be with Kyle after having him on 48?
So I don't know.
But obviously he was, you know, for the for the he was a fan favorite in a lot of ways
on 48.
So I understand him being here and I hope he comes in a little bit more multi-dimensional
than the game he played on 48 and really embraces it and plays hard.
I think that would be really, really fun to watch.
He's also just a really funny guy.
He had funny moments.
He's a good character.
So I think he's got some stuff to add to 50.
And he's a challenge beast and it'll be interesting to see him out there with a few other challenge beasts.
Yeah.
Jonathan.
I hope they bring back some of those,
especially Primers, those physical.
Physical.
You know, they never do anymore,
but like I'm thinking about the one where they're on,
like their heads up on like a raft
and they're like trying to knock each other off.
Imagine like him versus Jonathan or Ozzy's up there
or Colby's up there.
Like that's-
Don't put Colby and Coach up there
because Coach don't get them.
Put them up there.
I mean, they don't do those anymore.
And I remember there was one on Bryce's season that I love
where someone was hanging onto a pole
and the other people were like rip them off
and drag them across.
Those are the best challenges.
No, I agree.
And I know Survivor maybe there's like budget thing,
whatever, but just set up a poll
and have people rip each other off.
That's easy, you know?
We had water slaughter both my seasons
where you gotta run out there, grab the pool.
Yeah.
A ring.
It's great.
Great to watch.
Yeah.
And I love on that, I love the people that take,
that don't run, right?
They let you run and go get it and wear you out
and they be waiting for you right when you,
ah, I love that, that, oh!
That's when I realized how strong Ben Dreberg was.
He was like, nope, we're going over here.
I was like, but, but wait.
I forgot about that. Oh, bad.
We was rude.
We were all ruined for Tony's four foot 11.
We were against.
Not too much.
Not too much. I'm, Rob. Not too much.
I'm just saying. Not too much on Mr.
Vlachos. OK.
Vlachos. Vlachos.
Vlachos.
And we got.
OK, and then we are rounding out our last known player as Camilla.
Will the Camilla meters and the Camilla Terry rise?
We will rise.
I am excited for Camilla.
I think that she's great.
Again, like a Joe, we have the option
of how will Camilla handle this?
What will she do?
Will she continue to be loyal?
I also think similarly to Charlie, right?
Camilla is not threatening in size, right?
And so I think that she can use that to her advantage.
I could see Camilla working with a Suri.
I could see a Camilla with a Stephanie.
I could see a Camilla with a Jonathan.
I could see a Camilla,
like that I think her options are open,
but I do worry that everybody will know you won't call or do well.
So you're going to have to work your best to deflect.
But also, again, the freedom of Camilla to play her own game.
And like we know in her season, she might have struggled with like, is she good enough?
We know that like in her head, like, oh, you suck.
And it's like now, you know, and your head knows that girl, you the ish.
Okay. And so her going in with that mindset,
that's a scary thing.
And that's why I serve in the Camilitary.
Yeah, I'm curious to see Camilla.
I mean, she's sneaky, she's crafty.
I think there's a lot of fun strategic components
to her game.
I am worried for her, right, with that duo with Kyle.
And then you also take into consideration
Now she is really good at puzzles, but physically speaking you said she's not the biggest
I could be worried pre-merge especially with a lot of those big guys being like we got to keep the tribe strong
Little nervous in that sense if you pair that with her duo with Kyle
But I know she's gonna bring bring some really good strategy to the
season. So excited to see. I will say, and this is not about Camilla, but this is more
about 48 as a total. This kind of takes on that recency bias conversation we had of like,
I think 48 was one of the weaker seasons of the new era. But we do have, and this isn't
about a Joe or a Kyle or Camilla, but just one of the weaker seasons and honestly to their credit because they kind of ran it so hard that we didn't see a lot
of interesting stuff happen. So for me, I'm like, now is there any of these three that I would
specifically remove? I don't think I have a good answer to that. But I don't really know like
having three of them and that all of their stories were pretty intertwined already
and pretty flushed out, I'm not that thrilled
about having three different 48 people.
And that's not against any specific one.
And that made, that were one, two, three, and four.
Pretty much, yeah.
So yeah, it's like their story,
we just saw their whole story unfold, you know?
And that's why I do these-
That's gonna put them in a pickle though. That's gonna put them in a pickle though.
That's gonna put them in a pickle, right?
Like being out there.
So it does, it will cause a lot of conversation.
So it'll be interesting to see.
I am a card carrying member of the Camilitary.
Thank you very much.
I'm rooting for everyone Guyanese again.
Thank you very much.
And the only thing I'm scared,
is there a world where Kyle and Camilla
just gun at each other?
Cause like, or like, they're like,
remember how candid they were towards the end of the season?
Like, hey, you know, one of us got to go.
I think they back won't be up against the wall.
So if anything, it's like they need to work together
for like the first two votes, Joe, Camilla and Kyle.
And then I'll also say to that,
with three tribes and we have quite a few seasons
or a few seasons with three people on it,
I feel like they're gonna spread everyone out.
I see Kyle by himself
and I see Camilla and Joe together.
I can see them all being by themselves.
All being by themselves.
Three tribes.
David, Goliath, three.
But I say it could be two and two.
But they put Tony and Sarah Lucina.
It would help them to be separate.
I think if they're together, I think that's an easy like, it's kind of like when Jeremy
and Natalie were together.
But Wendell just said a great point.
Tony and Sarah, they were able to repeat it.
However, we had Edge of Extinction. But also Tony and Sarah, prior to that season, had never really run the game together.
Like Game Changers, Tony was out second.
Kageyan, they kind of did, but then it kind of fell apart when Sarah got voted out.
But they had the most history.
And then, like, I'm just saying, like, they had history.
Their duo going into Winners of War was not as obvious as,
they had a lot of history, but it wasn't as obvious.
How about us?
I mean, Bryce, didn't Tony vote Sarah out in Winners?
I mean, yeah.
So that's good.
But that's coming from someone that was on the island.
It was, you're on Edge of Extinction.
Well, once you got to Winners at War,
of course, that's when the relationship
really came to fruition and blossom. But they play three, three, three, like Tony and Sarah ran the game. They only
got voted out second. The point is on a winners at war, the two of them were on the same starting
tribe and and my lawn cares outside there. So, and my grass need to mulch.
So we gotta get, we gotta go.
Uh, but also there'd be two people from 49.
Uh, the internet, the internets have already named them.
Well, I was going to say, like, I, obviously we were going to find out and I'm not mad
at it.
I do go knowing who those people are going into 49.
I don't want to get started on sport.
Obviously it's a thing, but it does kind of now there's this expectation and you also
kind of know they're going to do pretty well.
So I kind of wish we didn't know that.
Right.
Like if you look at this season and the worst placing player was eighth place
Now we kind of in assuming it's similar now
We know these two are already gonna make the top eight like that's it. I kind of take some time second boot
I love it also interesting now
I guess I'll give a spoiler warning because if yours if you're like me and you wish you didn't know who these people were
Maybe fast forward five minutes, right?
We can say that.
But apparently, well, I don't remember the girl's name,
but the guy in the trailer for 49,
they really built him up as kind of a goof, the Riz God,
which to me is funny because you know he's going on 50,
and then you make him look like really.
That's how they do.
That could be great because if he looks like a goof
in that clip, in actuality, he's a shark.
Yeah, but I mean, it could be good for him,
but I mean, obviously once you get to the island
if you're on 50, you're gonna feel it out a lot more
and get to know him.
But I'm just thinking even from a fan perspective,
it's like you guys are really sending the guy
who calls himself a Riz God out there.
I'd be like, come on.
Like, obviously there's so much more to unpack.
There's so much more to see.
But it's less about him and more about like,
they know he's going out there
and they paint him in this light.
It's kind of funny.
I don't know.
Yeah, I don't know.
