RHAP: We Know Survivor - Survivor 50 Ep 10 Exit Interview

Episode Date: April 30, 2026

Survivor 50 Ep 10 Exit Interview Stephenie LaGrossa Kendrick’s Survivor 50 journey comes to a close as Rob Cesternino sits down for a revealing exit interview packed with strategy, blindsides, and t...he fallout from a jam-packed double episode. Survivor 50 ramps up the stakes with the introduction of the MrBeast coin, a game-changing twist that sends Rick Devens to safety and upends the tribe’s careful calculations. Rob and Stephenie dive deep into the behind-the-scenes scrambling, what wasn’t shown at camp, and the shifting alliances that ultimately led to Stephenie’s torch being snuffed. Stephenie sheds light on just how much gameplay viewers missed, especially the intense scramble that still had Rick Devens as the original target before the immunity coin forced a new plan. She discusses her complicated relationships with Ozzy, Jonathan, and long-time frenemy Cirie, describing how moments of trust and betrayal played out far differently than the episode edit reveals. Stephenie also shares her take on Rizo’s unexpected alliance with Cirie, why she didn’t see it coming, and how Joe and Tiffany’s shifting loyalty influenced her position in the game. Key moments from this Survivor 50 exit interview include: – The MrBeast coin’s true impact on the tribal vote and why Rick Devens survived – Stephenie’s real-time scramble with Ozzy, Jonathan, and Cirie that never made it to air – Strategic doubts and botched moves as Joe leaks the plan to Cirie and upends alliances – The evolving perception of Rizo’s gameplay and hidden relationships at camp – Candid thoughts on Cirie’s social mastery and why Stephenie kept trusting her despite a rocky history As Stephenie reflects on her Survivor 50 experience, she unpacks whether deeper trust with Cirie ever had a chance—and what she’d do differently if there’s a next time. Who will seize control as alliances fracture and new threats emerge? Don’t miss this episode for a first-hand look at the strategic chaos and personal bonds shaping Survivor 50. Hey, everybody, what's going on? Rob Sistradino, back with you for a Survivor exit interview after the jam-packed Survivor from Wednesday night, two hours of Survivor that resulted in double the prize money. Rick Devons is safe and Stephanie LaGroso went home. She'll be with us here in just a moment to talk about her time on Survivor 50.
Starting point is 00:02:28 I talked to Stephen Fishback last night on a live edition of the know-it-all's. Very fun to get into everything with Stephen right after everything went down at that big tribal council. And you could check that out later on today. Jesse Lopez is going to be here with me in the studio. Now, Jordan Kalish normally talks to me after these exit interviews. There will not be twitch this week. I could not make it work with my schedule. I had a work trip earlier this week.
Starting point is 00:02:56 and then I am headed out of town to go and begin a book tour for the tribe. And I have spoken available everywhere this Tuesday. Head over to Rob Hasabook.com for the pre-order where you can get a bonus chapter, a digital download of 751 survivor players, a tribute to them in the ultimate rights of passage. You can get that and more. Rob has a book.com. So I've got Stephanie, no twitch, no twitch, this week. and let's go ahead and bring in Stephanie.
Starting point is 00:03:30 Hey, Steph, what's going on? Rob, sister, and I, how are you holding up today? Hey, Rob. You know what? I'm good. I'm good. It was a fun ride. It's okay. It's okay. Life goes on. Yeah, I know. Believe me, I know. Let me ask you about with the Mr. Beast coin of it all. Did that change what was going to happen?
Starting point is 00:03:51 If there was no coin, would you have still been voted out at that tribal council? You know what? No, there was so much not shown back at camp and there was so much scramble. If Devons was not safe, it really still was supposed to be Devons. We all came back together. We all communicated, even Surrey, even Ozzy, I fessed up to. Sure, somebody came up to me, brought up Ozzy's name because Ozzy supposedly you don't trust me. I told him that. And he owned it. He's like, you're right. I did say that. And I'm like, well, what the hell? Like, why don't you trust me? I've never given you a reason not to trust me. So he and I, like, made amends. You saw me talking to Surrey. I'm like, you were going to throw my name out there? Why would you throw my name out there? Like, are you serious? Like, we're supposed to be working together. Also, they haven't shown the whole season. And I'm like, we all kind of agreed to disagree. Let's just go back to the original plan. And it's going to be Devons. And if some reason, Devons is safe, it's supposed to be Albury. So I go into tribal.
Starting point is 00:04:54 counsel thinking like that. So stuff, in the episode that we see Jonathan and Jonathan says that, well, he told you that Ozzy said he wasn't so sure about you, but in the episode, it makes it seem like he's making that up, like that Ozzy didn't say that. But you're saying that Ozzy confessed to you that he did say that. He, well, he said he exaggerated a little bit is what he said, Jonathan. He said Ozzy did say that, but of course I exaggerated it a little bit to Steph. you would really buy it. So I then did go over to Ozzie immediately. And Ozzie's like,
Starting point is 00:05:30 yeah, you're right. I did say that because I wanted to see if it would get back to me. And I'm like, why would you say that, though? Like last week, which they didn't show, he was very nervous at tribal council because his name was out there. And we were going to split the votes between Christian and Evans. And the whole time, I mean, I didn't even speak a tribal because I was talking to Ozzie the whole time. At one point, I think I was holding his hand. And he was like, do I play my advantage. Do I play my advantage? And I'm like, no, you're good. It's definitely between Ozzie and, or it's definitely between Devons and Christian. Like, you're cool. So that's why when Jonathan tells me that, I'm like, are you freaking kidding me? I thought we were like this. Because I did,
Starting point is 00:06:04 because last week, he was like leaning on me and then he kept saying to me weirdly, he kept going, like, I really trust you. Like, do you trust me? Yeah. Like back at camp before all this, after that night and before all this. And I'm like, yes, I trust you. Like, I'm working with you. I know. They'll show. Yeah. So much. of this. I know that you and Ozzy, I know, had had a good relationship going back from when you were on the Swap Tribe with him and telling him that you all sent him the boomerang idol and then also you were partners. So I know you and Ozzy had a good thing going. And I really felt like that you and Jonathan were in a good position after that Christian and Emily were going
Starting point is 00:06:41 after Ozzy. Why go after Ozzy this round? Because it felt like that he was starting to get with you all and was a good number with you. Well, and that was the thing. So, John, As soon as we had done family letters, Jonathan comes to me just on the beach, me and him, and he's like, we have to make a big move. It's time to make a big move. And I'm like, okay, what? And he's like, I think it needs to be Ozzy. And here's why. He's walking around telling me he doesn't trust you, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah.
Starting point is 00:07:08 And then there was a couple other reasons. And I'm like, I don't know, Jonathan. I'm like, I don't think we have the numbers for that. And him and Surrey are really tight. And if three finds out about that, like, that can easily get turned on any of us. I actually say this to Jonathan. So then Jonathan goes and finds Devons and Aubrey. Of course I go with, but I'm just listening.
Starting point is 00:07:28 Like I'm not trying to lead this charge. That is the truth. And they're like, okay. And then he's like, let me just make sure Joe's on board because Joe and him are supposed to be number ones. And then Joe immediately goes and tells Surrey. That's where the problem lies. This is now the second time that Joe screws up because supposedly he's with Jonathan, who's with me. So I'm thinking it's the three of us.
Starting point is 00:07:51 And I'm hopeful, Surrey's with us and Ozzy, right? Joe immediately goes and tells. The whole plan goes to shit. So you and Surrey have had this real storied history now across four these different reality shows. Yeah. And we didn't know how this was going to be coming in, but you were working together up until this point in the game.
Starting point is 00:08:18 Yeah. Do you have any? I just would love to know like how are you feeling about Surrey at this moment? It's just super disheartening because we spoke before the game and we solidified like
Starting point is 00:08:32 our trust in one another and we have like a very sisterly she's always treated me like a younger sister and I respect her as like a reality game player and I know her game and I know you're only as good to Surrey until she's kind of
Starting point is 00:08:50 done with you, but like we agreed to let's just get there first. Like, let's stick together. Like, and when I give you my word and she knows it, like, I mean it. And I'm not good at lying to people that know me. And Seri knows me. So I couldn't lie to her out there. And I had no intention of ever coming after her. Maybe like if we're at the final, like close to the end, maybe I don't want to sit with her in the final three because she might win. Like everybody loves three. But I had every intention. I never planned on going against her. And even when there were rumors before the game even started,
Starting point is 00:09:26 Stephanie's gunning for Surrey said, that was never the case. And I called Surrey and we spoke about it. And she said she believed me. I think she went into this game having no intention of working with me. And it's super disheartening because you see her take all of my allies out every chance she gets and she's already making other side alliances. And I don't know she's doing it because she's every chance she gets saying,
Starting point is 00:09:50 me, oh my gosh, Stephanie, I'm with you. I'm 100% with you. You're like family to me. I'm not, unless it's for the million dollars, I'm not writing your name down. I mean, she's saying these things to me. And I have no proof that she's the one taking them out because people like Joe, who know it, don't tell me who's supposed to be with me. So how would I know? Right? I don't even know she's with Rizzo. I know she's tight with Ozzie. Yeah. But I don't even know she's with Rizzo. So good on her. Like, you know what I mean? Let me ask you about Rizzo. Because I, for us at home, it seems so obvious. Okay, well, Surrey has Ozzie and Rizzo and nobody sees all this. But where did you all think Rizzo was in this group of 10 people?
Starting point is 00:10:29 We thought Rizzo was just kind of like floating. We saw, we rarely ever saw Surrey and Rizzo talk. We knew Ozzy and Sree were together. We had no idea how tight Rizzo was. In fact, we just thought Rizzo has this idol. He's the number. We'll get him out later. And we know his game from 49.
Starting point is 00:10:47 We knew he hid behind an idol. We knew he lost fire at Final Four. We're like, oh, we'll worry about Rizzo later. Now, we did try to get Rizzo out, like, early because he is, he really does not do much around camp. He did annoy a lot of people for being lazy or whatever. I actually had a soft spot for Rizzo. He reminds me of my son in a weird way that I never wanted to admit. And all my friends watching are like, oh, my God, Rizzo is like an older Kyle Jr.
Starting point is 00:11:13 Like his mannerisms, there's just something about him. He's super smart student of the game. and like my son's really smart. So like there's just something about him that reminded me of Kyle. So I kind of had this weird soft spot for him. But we did not know how close he and Surrey really were. We had no idea. And I certainly didn't know.
Starting point is 00:11:32 Surrey told him about my advantage. What about this Joe and Tiffany relationship? Is that anything that, you know, that did become more of a thing? So I worried when they became a team and won that reward that they became a thing. Tiffany, I never got close. I tried to get talked to her. I actually told her, listen, I was assigned to vote for you. I didn't want to vote for you. I wanted to vote for D. I'm just letting you know right now. I'm a very honest open book player. I really am. It's just who I am. And it's why a lot of people feel they can trust me. That's why I stuck around for a long time, because I was very honest with everybody, including Emily, including Christian, even Devin's. So I I told Tiff, flat out. And I think when I told her that, she was like, you did. And that kind of pissed her off.
Starting point is 00:12:22 But I see where she sleeps, and she's sleeping next to three at night. And I'm sleeping next to Joe in the shelter. But I see the three of them talking a lot. But then Joe would come over and kind of like tell me what they were saying. So, like, I think Joe is playing both sides. I knew Tiffany was a lost cause. But I think Joe is playing both sides is the problem. And he doesn't want to admit that.
Starting point is 00:12:42 And I don't know. It could bite him in the end. The auction, I know there's. so much that goes on that we don't all see in the show. Were there any moments from the auction that we didn't see that we're interesting? Rizzo gets this chicken and this broccoli and a protein shake, and he could barely eat it. And we're like, what are you doing? Like Jonathan's like foaming at the mouth dying to get the protein shake. You know what I mean? And I'm like, Rizzo like trying to be his mother, because first of all, I'm older than both of his parents. That was another situation.
Starting point is 00:13:15 I'm like, Rizzo, you have to eat that. He didn't like it? I'm like, come on, that's protein. He's like, he couldn't eat it, but he wouldn't eat the coconut in the shelter. He did eat the rice. We would crack coconuts open. He wouldn't drink the coconut. I mean, he was sick as a dog the whole time out there.
Starting point is 00:13:31 He laid it around. He couldn't do much. Now, I know he did back-to-back seasons. And I know he, like, didn't gain his weight back. But I'm like, Rizzo, you're having the opportunity to eat. And then he would, like, complain about it and cry and say his stomach ache. And I'm like, oh. okay, well, you just won like all this food and you're barely eating it.
Starting point is 00:13:49 So you didn't see that. And we all, it wasn't just me. It was like a lot of people, like Aubrey was like, are you going to eat that? Like, you know, and then Surrey throws up eating the platter. Can I buy that off of you? Like, I'm serious. Like I, after Applebee's, after Chinese, after the auction, I don't throw up. I don't run to the aqua dump.
Starting point is 00:14:10 Like, I'm good. My body's absorbing it. You want to give me food. Yeah. Did you get anything at the auction? Yes, I got a grill cheese and a lemonade. I licked the place. I mean, it was like, yeah, but they didn't even.
Starting point is 00:14:23 Jeff did talk to these like, what's this grill cheese like? And I was like, oh my gosh, this is like making a grill cheese for my kids at home. But like they don't show that. You didn't get that. Okay. No. Tell me, do you feel like there was a turning point in your game where you felt like that things were going good and there was one specific moment?
Starting point is 00:14:40 You felt like that things started to go downhill after that? Once coach and Chrissy went, I was like, okay, something's going on, something's not right. And now I'm going to have to play more of a cutthroat game. And that's when I got more serious. And that's why when Jonathan comes to me, like, we need to make a move. I'm like, lay it on me. What do you got kind of thing?
Starting point is 00:15:06 Doesn't mean I definitely want to go with it. And I did give them pushback. But I'm like, I'll hear you out. Yeah. I know I've heard you say a couple times with me, I watch you on the early show this morning. You know, we don't get to see everything that happens in the show. Is there one thing that you wish that they would have shown that you did?
Starting point is 00:15:26 I mean, I wish they would have shown all of the talks, Sarii and I had, truly, because people are like, how the hell are you trusting her? This is the fourth show now. She's taking all your people out. And I'm like, you're not seeing what she's saying to me. She is a master at what she does. And that's why in my pre-press, I said Thoree's deadly. and I meant it in a very good and in the most highly complimentary way.
Starting point is 00:15:51 Yeah. Not in a negative way because she is deadly. This is what she does and she did it to me. And I know she's able to do this and I still allowed her to do it. Do you know what I mean? Call me dumb. Whatever. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:16:03 Sticks and stones break my bones. Names will never hurt me. Whatever. I don't care. But I wish they would have shown a lot of that. Yeah. Truly. But, Seth, I do think that the next time you two are on a show, I think it's,
Starting point is 00:16:15 going to work out. I think you guys will be able to work together. I think it's going to be good. Let me say it here. Rob, the fifth time we're on a show together, I'm definitely going to trust Surrey. You have to. You have to. Okay. All right. I have to.
Starting point is 00:16:31 All right. Steph, thank you so much for making the time to do this. All the best. Okay. Thanks, love. All right. Thank you. Good to talk to you. Bye. Bye. We all love Survivor.
Starting point is 00:16:52 And in my first ever book, The Tribe and I have spoken, I'll tell you how this little show evolved from that juggernaut first season on the beaches of Borneo all the way into its landmark 50th season. I'm like a storyteller. That's what I do. What role did the greatest players, the unforgettable moments, and Jeff Probst himself have in shaping what Survivor has become today?
