That is Tuesday night's episode to the penultimate episode. Click away. This is not where you're meant to be. Please leave. All right.
Starting point is 00:02:53 Now that those people are gone, we can talk about it. The person who went home was, of course, the iconic, Shawnee. So upsetting, but has to get to the bottom of the fact of is she actually retired, because no, we refuse. And her game and some of the questions we had when it was kind of lost in the edit, and I thought all of Shawnee's answers made a lot of sense. She has such an instinct for the game, obviously played four times, broken many, many records, and it was great to get a little bit of time with her today.
Starting point is 00:03:17 So hope that you enjoy that. All of the recaps are out. we also have ex-interviews up with Tommy and Lisa. The ex-interview with Cass is actually coming next week now. So that's been pushed next week, but we will get that next week. But we have the recaps with Chappelle and Pua and Mike, and we will have a reaction podcast with Rob coming up as well. So Weena Global Survivor.com to check all of that out.
Starting point is 00:03:38 Follow me, Ashtan Gays, get your donations in for the chizzy raffle. You have until midnight, Friday night in Australia time, or like Friday morning, ET, basically America time, to get that in. Check out the time zones yourself for that, but we passed $2,000 on that, which I'm really proud of, looking to get more for this amazing cause for the Forever After Rescue and to really help cats on the street and also to, you know, not the people on the street, the cats on the street. And also the even chizzy points because what's more important than the finale chizzy points of this historic season. So hope you're enjoying all of the coverage and
Starting point is 00:04:14 the season and hope you enjoy this next interview. Bye. Australian Survivor is saved. Survivor is saved in New Zealand. Survivor. Survivor. Survivor. 21 South African. 12 ordinary Australians.
Starting point is 00:04:33 Susie New Zealand. One million pounds. One million pounds. Million euro. Million. Shkali. A million. Rubble.
Starting point is 00:04:45 Try. Try. Try. for the adventure of a lifetime. The adventure of a lifetime. Shawnee, how are you so lovely to chat to you? I want to wish you a huge congratulations. You have a second child coming, so huge congrats.
Starting point is 00:05:02 Thank you. Very exciting. You haven't spoken to you for years. I know. I didn't speak to you since before the first child, I think. Yeah. Johnny, when you said you were hanging up the red dress, don't do that to us.
Starting point is 00:05:17 Are you lying, please? Well, I don't know, maybe I'll take a 10-year hiatus, have some kids, relax, and then, you know, when I'm 45, I'll still be trying to taste that cash. Yeah, I mean, look, you've played four times in like seven years, right? So you can take like a three-year break, but you can't say you're done forever, I don't think. No, okay, fine. I take it back. Since JLP's job has now been fulfilled, I guess I will take back my comment about retiring the red dress and maybe I would in like eight years or something but I don't know like what if I
Starting point is 00:05:54 embarrassed my children but then that they'll be very very proud I'm sure and also it's gone from 10 years to eight years in the last minute so I think we're making good progress we're making progress yeah I wanted to ask you I know you went out shortly after Valley was born and maybe maybe the shortest postpartum kind of playing that anyone has had globally off the top of my head how do you feel like that affected you out there it was definitely very sad because I just missed him so much but also the format of 16 days I would never do like a full season because having like a rest day a reality day where obviously like the crew were having a rest and then even just like reward challenges like it was exciting that it was tribal tribal tribal so like Like, whilst I did miss him, we were so busy and there was not really any downtime because, you know, there was only 16 days to play a game that we normally play in 47 days. Yeah, you're like, I don't need to be here having a rest day or winning reward when I could be with my son.
Starting point is 00:07:05 So let's get the tribal council. So it was just like tribal, tribal, tribal, tribal, tribal, very fast pace, which did help a lot. Yeah, so I was really surprised that you turned immediately on this four you had with poverty, Surrey and Kirby. Yeah, what was the thought process behind that? Because we didn't get a lot of your thought process. I'd love to know what your kind of plans were and what helped you make that decision. So with Sarah, Sarah was someone who I just felt like I couldn't work with. So being able to blindside her was like perfect for my plan.
Starting point is 00:07:41 But I also didn't see myself long term with three in poverty because why would I do that? They're the two biggest threats in the game. And then they also have this friendship that they've had for 17 odd years. I don't think anyone's coming between that. So for me, it made sense to do the Sarah vote with them and then move on and, you know, break up three and poverty. And my plan was to move forward with the internationals. Tommy, Sarah, no, Tommy, Lisa.
Starting point is 00:08:16 end, Cass, and then just hope that, you know, they will want to break and turn on each other because who wants to get to the end and have the exact same story three times. So that was kind of my thought process. I wasn't like, oh my God, poverty and Surrey want to work with me. Let's keep this going. It was really just that suited me. And then I wanted to break them up. And then long term, I wanted to stick with the International Three. Honestly, I respect it because not a lot of people seem to have had a similar thought process. What about this Kirby? What was like the relationship like and were you also turning on Kirby in that moment or you were
Starting point is 00:08:52 trying to protect her as well there? I was blindsided by Kirby's blindside. I definitely would have given her the heads up had I known. Yeah, I really get along with Kirby and, you know, I thought that for my game it would be best for me to break up three in poverty. I didn't necessarily think that she would be on the same page. That's why I didn't tell her what I was planning on voting because I also came in this wanting to do what was best for me.
Starting point is 00:09:22 Like if someone's doing something else, that's cool. If I just didn't want to be sitting there thinking like, oh, how is this going to affect their game? I just wanted to go in 16 days. This is, I'm doing what's best for me. Yeah, that makes a lot of sense. What about Luke and Janine? Obviously, you go with Luke when you're making a move like that.
Starting point is 00:09:39 You had work with them on and off through the pre-emerge as well. then they kind of drop you when it gets later down the road. So what was kind of the evolution of that relationship? So Luke and Janine, obviously I know that they played together in Heroes, no, sorry, Champions vs Contenders Season 2 of that one. Yeah. So they have a long history together. So yeah, I just knew that I wasn't, you know, breaking into that either.
Starting point is 00:10:06 But once again, it wasn't my goal to have like a one ride or die when I'm there for 16 days, going to tribal council most days. So honestly, like, really no hard feelings because there was, yeah, like, I don't know, it's, I can't be annoyed at that because I didn't want, I didn't want to be like in a solid, solid, solid thing anyway. I just wanted to do what I wanted to do. Yeah. So what about the international?
Starting point is 00:10:34 So you want to work with them. They don't work with you there. They vote out Kirby. And then later they come and they might want to vote out poverty. did you have much of a connection with them at that point? Was there a lot of trust going forward or was like there were ideal to sit next to, but there were fractures in the trust and the working relationship there? So I thought that I had a pretty good pitch with them because I said,
Starting point is 00:10:57 you know, the Aussies tribe wanted to vote you off, Kat. I didn't want that because I wanted to work with you. So I went behind their back and voted off Sarah. And then now I want to work with you and I'm doing three. and I did what I said I was going to do. I voted for three. And then the following one was when they were going to vote me. And I'm like, guys, I am proving time and time again that I want to work with you.
Starting point is 00:11:25 I don't want to vote you off. And Surrey and poverty are huge threats. Let's break them up. But basically on that episode, we, Tommy, Lisa, Cass, hardly spoken. to us at all and then literally as the scramble is closing we get a message from Lisa that's like vote poverty and it's like this is my fourth season like you're not going to tell me who to vote for last minute without even giving me a conversation because obviously I want to speak to Tommy and Cass and I want to get my own vibe whether or not I think this is legit or
Starting point is 00:12:05 why are you just sending me a messenger like wouldn't you just come? and like chat to me yourself and because obviously that would have been so good and I actually to this day because once I left I was um I didn't really talk about the game with anyone but I actually just messaged Tommy before and was like what are you actually going to vote poverty or like why didn't you talk to me? So he's going to get back to me on that one because I truly don't even know if they were just like trying to trick us or whether Cass and Tommy actually went into that tribal, thinking that we would vote for poverty without a conversation, which is just ludicrous.
Starting point is 00:12:46 He told me that he was, like, he was really pushing to vote out poverty, but Cass and Lisa were less on board. So I think that they had talked him down and to actually vote for you. But like, if he had it his way, he really did want to vote for poverty. So they were like, they weren't agreeing on it. But that was the issue. Really interesting choice when they're like, I feel like at that point we had like five days left. Like, if you're not going to take out the biggest threat at five days left, when are you?
Starting point is 00:13:14 Yeah. Well, was there anything to take out like a poverty or a surrey when Tommy's coming to you in that second half of that tribal council? Cass is gone. Tommy gets targeted. But Tommy has like nothing. Was there anything at any point? Because we see Luke and, like, mostly Janine is like, let's vote. Tommy. I think Luke is like, let's vote Lisa. Were you a voice of reason in the room in that very chaotic night being like, poverty and seri? Have you met them? They're kind of a big target. deals around here um so jeanine obviously i needed jeanine and luke to make a three to make anything happen that evening and jeanine was really like working poverty and three and was really set i think you know she'd put in the groundwork um and look she all credit to her because
Starting point is 00:14:01 you know she's really made poverty and three believe that she would go with them over Luke and like who knows what's going to happen in Sunday's episode but you know he had put down the groundwork and I guess for some reason she didn't want to go to the end with three in poverty which is not something that I would personally recommend to anyone but yeah like I think Luke would have been on board to vote poverty next but like it just yeah wouldn't have worked because then he would be breaking his trust with Janine. Janine would then be losing her trust and yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:14:45 Well, last question. You know, you're a relationship with George. It's such an interesting relationship. You do take him out right before, you know, these big milestones, which you have so many milestones. What was the state of that relationship coming back from that? It seemed actually really warm until like the blind side that he also did seem to respect. Yeah, George and I, like, George is such a fun.
Starting point is 00:15:08 guy and it was honestly like quite boring after he left because george and i just like i don't know we just laugh and make the most of a situation and just like be a bit silly um so whilst like i was having a great time with him i knew like you know trick me once shame on you trick me to i shame on me so i just feel like i could not get voted off him by him voted off by him twice like my parents He'd be like, oh, my gosh. Oh, yeah. Remember that. I'd never live it down.
Starting point is 00:15:45 But, yeah. Love George. He's obviously such a fan of the game. He plays hard. He loves it. And, yeah, even though I got out last night, I feel like I literally did not leave a stone unturned. You know, I was like, Luke, do you have an idol?
Starting point is 00:16:01 Yeah. Surin poverty, Luke, and June is so tight. They will make you go to fire. No. and everywhere was just like dead ends so in the end there was only two people that didn't have immunity well you were making a lot of sense I also thought George accidentally like
Starting point is 00:16:18 I don't know if you remember during New Year's he meant to send us all New Year's text but he sent it as one big group text by accident and I saw that you were in that group text and I thought okay like it seems like it went okay with Johnny but I'm like it's a little bit of a spoiler so I'm glad you guys were able to patch things up you were making a lot of sense on your way out the door but people are not maybe playing with as much as end. So great to watch you, as always, Shawnee.
Starting point is 00:16:42 Excited for your return in three years from now. Yes. Three, I don't know about that. I'll probably have baby number three or four on the way. I'm sure. In five years. Five. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:16:52 All right. It's a deal. Thank you. Bye. 21 South African 12 ordinary Australians 1 million pounds 1 million pounds 1 million euros
