Starting point is 00:00:08 Everybody, what's going on? Rob Sesternernino, back with you. And I wanted to start to look ahead to Wednesday night. We have a big episode of Survivor. I think this is going to be the final free merge episode of Survivor 51. I also think that two players are going home. Jeff talked about in the trailer that two tribes are going to tribal council. And so what I started wondering was who is in the most trouble to miss. the merge on Wednesday night. But as I started thinking more about this, I wanted to really explore some of the possibilities that are out there. And I will get into a little bit of analysis from the preview that we got for this week's
Starting point is 00:00:57 episode coming up on Wednesday night. So if you really don't want to know anything about what's coming up, then maybe come back to this video after the episode aired and see if I got it. anything wrong, which is probably very likely to happen. But we are set up here with these three tribes going into this week's episode. And this week's episode is episode five of the season. And it's entitled, Not Here to Get a Petticure. And so I want to give you the description of this week's episode, not here to get a pedicure. All Winners Survivor on Instagram has this. This week's immunity challenge comes with double jeopardy when two tribes face tribal council.
Starting point is 00:01:44 The open era continues its promise when one player receives a never-before seen advantage. Then two tribal councils deliver high drama with tears and a shocking standoff on Survivor 51. So I think that that very plainly says we are getting two tribal councils, two players are going to be going home on Wednesday night. But there's a couple of other interesting things that happen in the trailer for this episode that I do want to highlight. One of them is the mention of something called a blood ring. Now, we know a blood moon was something that happened in Survivor 50. It's not something that I think too many people are fond of. But what is a blood ring?
Starting point is 00:02:29 And it seems like, based off of the trailer, it's something that it looks like, it looks at like Sharonda is giving the blood ring to Linnea. What is the power of the blood ring? I think we can only speculate. I am wondering if the blood ring is anything like the power broker that Jonathan was in season 50, where is it possible? Linnea could be going to multiple tribal councils. The Blood Moon was three tribal councils that were all in one day.
Starting point is 00:03:05 Does the blood ring have anything to do that? Is it just a word that is used in both advantages? I don't know, but I think that that does put into question, what is Linnea going to be doing? Is she immune from these tribal councils? Is she voting in multiple tribal councils? I think that that's one thing that we need to keep our eye on. And then also in the trailer,
Starting point is 00:03:26 it seems like that Maggie is going on some type of journey. She is at least on a boat. She's telling us that there is going to be chaos. and I do wonder if she is potentially going to a different tribe, tribal council, is she going to be immune from a tribal council? I think that her just being immune from a tribal council doesn't really speak to this idea of chaos. But I don't think that things are as cut and dry as we might have thought with all three tribes headed into tribal council. So what I'd like to do is with all that in mind, take a look at these three tribes as they stand right now before any sort of twists or, or tricks show up in this week's episode
Starting point is 00:04:08 and tell you who I think is on the hot seat and what might potentially go down. Let's start with Savu that I think is certainly from my vantage point, the place where things are the most clear cut. And if you're listening to the podcast version of this, what I've done is I've got a visual display of each of the tribes. And here we've got four people that are set up on the new Savu tribe.
Starting point is 00:04:35 It's Devin. It's Jelly. It's Ori and it's Alexis. They voted out Jenna at the last tribal council. And here they are. This one's real clear cut. I think that Alexis, I'm sorry to say, is in so much trouble. I think that she's looking at it where, okay, we just got Devin and Jelly to vote out the person from their own tribe. This is set up as 2-2. It's not 2-2, Alexis. I'm sorry that I think that we think that. when push comes to shove, ORI is going to vote with his friends from the Helicopter Alliance. I think that Alexis, her best bet might be to play the shot in the dark. Alexis needs to avoid tribal counsel here at all costs, even in a scenario where if, say, a Lenaia, a Maggie shows up and there's another vote coming her way, that's still not
Starting point is 00:05:30 going to be enough if Ory is voting with Devin and Jelly. In the preview, also, you had Jelly talking about, I don't know if Devin is good for my game, but I think it would be one of the all-time upsets if Jelly chose to go. Like, I don't know what Devin would have to do for Jelly to vote with Ori and Alexis and vote Devin out of the game. I think that that would just be really, really wild. And maybe down the road, Jelly and Devin aren't going to work. together, but on a vote as straightforward as this, I anticipate that we will see them stick it out. And so I think that Alexis's best bet is to avoid tribal council. But I think that if I was going to be doing any sort of betting odds, I think that Alexis would be the odds on favor to be one of
Starting point is 00:06:22 the two people to go home at this next tribal council, or in this next episode, I should say. But the other two tribes have a lot more intrigue. And let's talk about the Toka tribe. And this is a group of six, just like Dina is a group of six. I've been talking about this this week where I do think that the Survivor producers got unlucky last week where the tribe of five went to tribal council. We know in the new era they wanted to do three tribes of six. They loved this idea. I think that somebody mentioned this to me that in Survivor 50, maybe it was Omer,
Starting point is 00:06:59 that they had the idea for the blood moon would have been three. tribes of six if it wasn't for Kyle getting medically evacuated where it could have been an 18 person merge and we would have three tribes of six and I do think that after a swap a group of six is far more interesting than a group of five where because once you have three there's nothing that the two can do but in six that we know it's a race to four and it may not necessarily be easy for a group of four to form especially when we are swapping from two tribes. So in this situation here, at Toka, this is actually an especially interesting race to four that we have here. So the group of three that I feel pretty good about here is that Tanan, she in the last episode revealed to us that she has a great relationship with Maggie. Her and Maggie, they're actually number ones. But here is Carter, who had swathe. to this tribe in the mutiny, and then he and Tanan also have this great relationship. We have not seen Carter and Maggie talk, but I think that we can assume that these three
Starting point is 00:08:18 should vote together in this next tribal council. So it comes down to what does this group of three potentially want to do? I think that the cleanest thing that they should have wanted to do is, here is Kristen, who's now in with this group. If they end up working with Kristen, they could have their shot to vote out either Brady or Mike. Now, all three of these people voted against the alliance that Brady and Mike were in on the vote where Pat went home. We know Tannan does not love Mike, and we saw Brady very upset with this group. I will also add that Maggie does have an extra vote. So in this unlikely scenario where Kristen ends up going off to go and work with Brady and Mike potentially to try to force a 3-3 tie, Maggie does have an extra vote in this scenario, but I do think that this is a pretty unlikely scenario that one, Kristen would do.
Starting point is 00:09:27 this and that too, that Maggie would play her extra vote. But we know that from this episode, Carter does not love the idea of working with Kristen. Kristen did not vote with Carter on the vote where they ended up sending out Anna. He feels blindsided. And so that he's not going to want to work with Kristen. So this is now an interesting position. Could potentially Carter get Maggie and Tanaan to reunite with Mike and Brady, who there's not great vibes with everybody working here together. Is it possible that all five of the, I think that this is the original toca, the five people from the original toca, could they vote together and vote out? Kristen in that spot. I guess it's a clean vote.
Starting point is 00:10:22 I do wonder if that maybe that all five of these people could be united against, hey, well, we know that Kristen is from the old Savu. None of us have any ties to people working on the old Savu. And so Kristen, at least, look, maybe we're not all going to work together long term, but none of us have this relationship with Kristen. And it hurts the people as we're looking ahead to the merge. I do think that that is a decent. I think that the most likely scenario is that Carter and Kristen end up patching up their differences. I'd say I think the second most likely scenario is that the five end up voting together against Kristen, and that could be a bad situation for Kristen in that spot.
Starting point is 00:11:14 I don't really see an option where Kristen ends up voting with. Mike and Brady, other than if they wanted to force a rock draw, where if Carter really gives bad vibes to Kristen and she knows that that's not going to happen, we saw Kristen and Mike have some good conversations in the last episode, and Mike said that he's in the market for a new number one. I don't really see Brady and Kristen being a duo together that are going to be a really strong partnership. So I think this would be really unlikely. I can't imagine who they could peel away
Starting point is 00:11:54 from the other group to potentially go the other way. So I really only see two scenarios where either Kristen joins up with this existing three and they vote out Mike or they vote out Brady or the five original toka come together and Kristen could be in trouble in a scenario where if Linnea gets to show up and vote with this group, I do think that there is some possibility where, okay, now if these three are out on Kristen
Starting point is 00:12:30 and then Linnea shows up from the original tribe that Kristen was on, from Savu, I guess it is possible that it could be some sort of four, three advantage. And I think that there's also a possibility that we know that Maggie is going to be, off on a boat if it's possible that Maggie misses this tribal council. Now all of a sudden, I think that there is a possibility where Kristen is now the swing vote and in a very powerful position. And if Carter is going to be totally out on Chris, I think that's the scenario that you can see Kristen voting with Mike and Brady. I think there's also a possibility where in this scenario where Maggie is gone, but also has the extra vote, that maybe Kristen could swing back over
Starting point is 00:13:15 and vote out Mike and Brady. But I think that's the only scenario where you could see Carter or Tanan go home at this next tribal council. So if Maggie is here, I think that Kristen is in more trouble. If Maggie is gone for this tribal council, I think that does open things up for Kristen. Let's talk about the new Dina tribe. And I've put this tribe together in a group of three, a group of three. two and the group of one.
Starting point is 00:13:47 The group of three is easy. This is the old Savu people. Here's Sharanda. Here's Linnea. And here is Christian. They seem like that they are locked in those three. It feels like that they want to keep Savu
Starting point is 00:14:02 strong and they want to continue to work together. Eric is also from the original Savu. That they feel like that coming into this swap, this was going to be a four, versus two situation. But we have seen where Eric has started to sing or hear the siren song of Kilby and is getting closer and closer and closer to Kilby to the point where he is spending
Starting point is 00:14:31 a ton of time with Kilby and Sharonda and Linnea. They're getting nervous. Why is Eric hanging out with Kilby so much? Is he potentially disloyal? Now, Kilby, to his credit has done a lot to try to make himself to be an endearing figure and talked about how he's not working with his original tribe anymore and he has also gone to great lengths to try to spend more time having this bromance with Eric. And so Kilby seems like that he is in a better position than poor Lewis, who Lewis started off this game. He went off to Exile Island. he was able to find a way to get into the majority on his original tribe. But now here he is.
Starting point is 00:15:23 He is once again the odd person out. He wasn't feeling well. And he needed to go and rest and really missed out on a lot of the relationship building that happened once he got to the new Dina tribe. So if I was just going to say that what is the most straightforward thing that could happen. I do think that Lewis is the person who could potentially be the player who gets voted out. Now, maybe is there some concern? Did Lewis get something when he was on Exile Island? And we know that he certainly had the opportunity to get something. Does it make it cleaner
Starting point is 00:16:02 to go after Kilby? But is Eric going to be okay with that? If they end up telling Lewis, hey, Lewis, we are going to vote out. Kilby. Do they leave Eric out of the vote? And then ultimately, Eric and Kilby are voting for Lewis, and then Lewis votes with them. I think that there is some kind of a possibility there that Kilby could be in danger. But Linnea, she has the blood ring. What does it mean? Is she voting at multiple tribal councils?
Starting point is 00:16:34 If that's the case, I think that it does not matter to what happens in this tribal council, if she does go vote in another tribal council. If Maggie ends up coming here, I feel like that she is allies with Lewis and Kilby. But I think in that situation, even Maggie's vote, I think that Eric really comes home. I think he is more loyal to being Sabu strong.
Starting point is 00:17:00 I don't think he would vote against his old tribe just to vote with Kilby and Lewis and Maggie in that scenario. So I'm curious. I don't see how it ends up being anybody other than Kilby or Lewis if this tribe ends up going to the tribal council. Obviously, a lack of change in the episode and new information comes to light. But in this world, I think that they could blindside Eric and vote out Kilby because Kilby and Eric are getting too close. But outside of that, I don't see the scenario where any of the three go. end up getting voted out.
Starting point is 00:17:41 I think that also Linnea having the blood ring, I think that that's only going to be a benefit. I don't see that this is where Linnea ends up getting screwed over in any part of this or if the blood ring would cause her to miss this tribal council. I guess just for argument's sake, if the blood ring twist ended up with Linnea leaving this tribal council, I do feel like that that only makes it even more strong
Starting point is 00:18:09 that Lewis ends up going home, we have no reason to believe that Lewis is going to all of a sudden befriend Charonda and Christian to want to do anything against Eric or Kilby. But I guess if his back is against the wall, anything's on the table,
Starting point is 00:18:25 but it just seems like we're grasping its draws. So ultimately, a lot of scenarios are in play going into this Wednesday night. And I hope we get a fun episode. It seems like this is going to be a lot of moving parts between two tribal councils and some new open era twists. We have not seen any new twist pop up. I think that the appeal of the open era, the thing that people really like so far is, oh, they're doing a lot of classic things. Okay, great. That's been a success. But now, when they start also mixing in with classic
Starting point is 00:19:07 things. Also, we're also going to do never before seen things that you haven't seen before. Well, I know that those were not things that necessarily were always received well in the new era, specifically in Survivor 50. I think it was kind of a mixed bag with some of the things that they ended up trying out in Survivors, New Era and in Survivor 50. And I think it's going to, I hate to say it, like we're a little results oriented. If it ends up being an exciting vote because of what happened, then I think we're a little bit more open-minded about it, or if somebody who the audience doesn't necessarily love goes home,
Starting point is 00:19:47 I think they're a little bit more open-minded, but if it's somebody who's a huge fan favorite, who kind of gets screwed over by what they end up trying, I think that people are saying like, hey, why are you meddling with this? So we'll see what ultimately ends up happening. I guess I should make a prediction of what could happen. and the other part of this that I haven't really mentioned is that we've had four tribal council so far.
Starting point is 00:20:13 Four women have gone home. And I also feel like that in what I predict, I think Alexis is also likely to get voted out at this tribal council. So I can't imagine that we have a season where we have six tribal councils before the merge and six women end up getting voted out. and I think it'll depend on which tribal council happens first. I think it's interesting also because I feel like that where you would think that if I told you there was a season where the first four people voted out of the game were all going to be women, you would think, oh, this is a season the men are going to be dominating. It's going to be a guy's alliance.
Starting point is 00:20:53 They're voting out all the women. That's not really what's happening. I would say maybe outside of Devin, I feel like that most of the real power players on the season have been the women. And maybe with the exception of Anna, I don't really feel like that the women who have been targeted have been women who were really running things. So you have some of the really strong women who are still left in the game, like Charonda, like a Linnea, like jelly.
Starting point is 00:21:25 Also, I feel like that they are a little bit more of the shot callers than some of the men who are left. I think obviously Devin is somebody who I would put in that. category of being somebody who's calling the shots. So it's a long way of saying, I think that the, I'll say Alexis is going to be a person who goes home, but I do wonder if we could see the other person be another woman. And so I'm going to say that it comes down to, we've seen a lot of how Tanan isn't feeling Mike.
Starting point is 00:21:56 And so I'll say that Dina avoids the tribal council. I'll say maybe that's how Linnea ends up getting. the blood ring is that maybe that's the tribe that wins immunity. And then with immunity comes the blood ring, which maybe sends Linnea to the other tribe's tribal councils for some reason, perhaps also getting to give somebody an advantage or picking somebody to go on a journey, which ends up being Maggie. And so in that, I'll say, Alexis, I think, is the next person to go home from the Sabu tribe. And then I think that Mike ends up being the person who goes home from the Toka tribe. Let's see how close I get. And of course, we will have so much more for you coming
Starting point is 00:22:44 up this week. They talked about how the tribes is going to be double jeopardy. Well, it is going to be double jeopardy for us when Drew Baciel joins us on the podcast on Thursday. And of course, we'll have our Survivor No-It-alls on Wednesday night. And then exit interviews with both the players who get voted out. Thank you so much for joining us. I love to get your feedback on these types of videos. And we've got everything set up to be able to do many more videos like this after the merge. Looking forward to seeing where we go here.
