RHAP: We Know Survivor - Why ___ Lost Survivor 51 Ep 2

Episode Date: October 3, 2026

Why ___ Lost Survivor 51 Ep 2 Also available on YouTube. In her Survivor 51 final words, Ana tried to do her own mini version of the Why ___ Lost podcast, saying things like, “I definitely played a ...little too hard, too quickly,” and, “I will always be causing chaos and mischief.” She even yelled at herself on the show for throwing out names. All of those things were true, of course, but do they encompass everything that happened? And is she even thinking of the right places where she played too hard or talked about names? David Bloomberg and Jessica Lewis talk about all of this and more, because at RHAP, we know Survivor, and we know Why Ana Lost. 0:00 Why Ana Lost 0:33 Rob Misunderstands Survivor Rules 3:36 Production’s Role: Correcting the Players 6:21 Rob’s Plan to Vote Himself Out 9:32 Survivor History: Returning Home Rules 11:25 Overcomplicating Survivor Vote Plans 16:00 Season 51 Cast: Superfans Versus Casuals 20:11 Unusual Alliance and Voting Behavior 24:05 Anna’s Alliance Web Revealed 28:26 Scheming Too Much, Bad Cover-ups 32:05 Anna’s Name Dropping Backfires 40:24 Anna Loses Trust, Vote Shifts 42:04 Emotional Gameplay Impacts Anna 45:00 Social Strengths Don’t Save Anna 47:23 Alexis Turns Popcorn Into Majority 49:43 Crab Mix-Up Triggers Vote Flip 57:26 Final Thoughts: Why Anna Lost 1:01:13 Listener Questions and Survivor Stories To order Rob’s book, The Tribe and I Have Spoken, visit www.robhasabook.com LISTEN: Subscribe to the Survivor podcast feed WATCH: Watch and subscribe to the podcast on YouTube SUPPORT: Become a RHAP Patron for bonus content, access to Facebook and Discord groups plus more great perks!

This is why blank lost.
Starting point is 00:02:42 Oh, baby, this is why blank lost. Welcome back to the Survivor edition of Why Blank Lost. I'm David Bloomberg. And while I always encourage players to study my rules, apparently some players don't even bother to read the official rules of the game. But I know my co-host, Jessica Lewis, went through everything with a fine-tooth comb before heading out to play. I did.
Starting point is 00:03:18 And this is what I find so insanely shocking about this entire episode. Like, I feel like we went into, like, a world that never has really existed where people played this game appearing to have no clue what it actually consists of. Rather shocking. Rather shocking. Because I will say, they lay all of these rules out in a very, very, very long document for you to understand entirely what you are getting yourself into. So I'm shocked.
Starting point is 00:03:47 I'm shocked. I'm just shocked. Yes. And we will, of course, have some things to say about Rob in a moment. But of course, this podcast is primarily about Anna, which means we'll be talking about popcorn. Oh, wait. Sorry. No.
Starting point is 00:04:03 We'll compare her gameplay to a set of guiding rules for winning. I originally wrote way back after season one and have been updating ever since. We'll use all the non-spoiler information available. to us from what we saw on TV, interviews, social media, and secret scenes. The newest published version of the rules can be found by going to rob has website.com slash YX lost feed and clicking on the link bubble for the survivor rules. But as I said, we have to address Rob first. Maybe we'll call this section, why Rob attempted to lose.
Starting point is 00:04:37 Oh, it's so bad. It's so bad. And I'm wearing this shirt. Now I realize audio people can't see it at all, obviously. Video people can only see the arrow. So let me just move my camera a little bit so you understand. It says why you lost and it points upwards. And this is the shirt that both Anna and Rob should get.
Starting point is 00:05:04 So now, Rob didn't lose yet, but, you know, we could pencil in, you know, almost. It's a matter of time on that one. Yeah. Right. Yeah. Right. So I want to lay it all out because I know from comments on social media, some people are still confused as to what he was actually doing. We of course saw that he was in an emotional tailspin after they lost the challenge.
Starting point is 00:05:29 He was missing his wife and kids and so on. So he mentioned something about writing his own name down in a confessional. Now, when I first watched it, I either missed it or I shrugged. it off as a metaphor because obviously he can't do that. Right. No, he was, he was being literal. And I'm happy the producer didn't stop him then in that confessional. I'm glad they let him attempt it because it was much more ridiculous this way.
Starting point is 00:05:57 Yeah, but I'm also rather surprised that they didn't correct him in the confessional because if there is one thing that happens in the confessionals is there is a lot of back and forth that you don't see. You only see the individual actually talking. But there are questions being posed. There are things being said about other players. There are not necessarily suggestions, but ideas of things. Like, have you considered this?
Starting point is 00:06:22 Have you thought about that? And there are times that I can remember in confessionals that I had where they might have said things to me that maybe they shouldn't have in regards to like what can and cannot be happening in the game. and they weren't anything that was part of the rules. It was something that was like, well, I was posing a question like, well, Jeff wouldn't let that happen. Jeff wouldn't do that. And I was being corrected by production that, oh, no, he would.
Starting point is 00:06:54 And I was like, but you're not supposed to tell me those things. Like that. So, like, the fact that they didn't say, dude, you can't write your own name down. Like, is that really what you're thinking about doing? Like, you can't do. Like, that's literally. against the rules. And I'm, I'm very surprised considering how structured the game is and how significant the rules are that they didn't correct him there. It's not structured anymore.
Starting point is 00:07:21 It's the open era. You can do anything. Anything can happen. Yeah, except right. You're on. Yeah, except that. Still can't do that. Yeah. So I do wonder if the producer was like, well, he's obviously not going to do it. So I'm not going to bother saying anything. Or if they just shrugged it off and went, it'll be a funny moment. I was stunned as it was happening. Like, I knew he had said that, but then it was like,
Starting point is 00:07:50 he was standing there, like, explaining it. And then proceeded to make a very big R. And I was like, what is happening right now? Like, this is not, no. You've never been a survivor before? I mean, I like, because here's the thing. in his pregame press, he talked about how he was a survivor fan that he had considered applying when he was much younger. But he's like, but now the more mature me, the older guy, I understand things better.
Starting point is 00:08:19 I'm going to do better. I'm more controlled. So it's not like he is not, I wouldn't say he's a scholar of the game, but he's clearly watched it. He clearly has been a fan for quite some time. And everyone who is a fan of Survivor remembers the Christian Hubicki debaubis. debacle, right, that all of a sudden CBS was like, oh, hey, Christian, you have to vote for yourself. Well, they wouldn't have, according to the timeline, he wouldn't have seen that.
Starting point is 00:08:48 Unless, unless, yes, unless they were shown the rest of the season in pregame Ponderosa. Oh, that's fascinating. Thank you for clarifying that. Yeah, they were out there recording when that happened. Okay. My theory, my own personal theory, which I have unfortunately not been able to confirm, is that they were shown it. Because otherwise, like, how did they know about the coin flip?
Starting point is 00:09:20 Well, right. That's a very valid point, too. So I think, I think that the likelihood is in order to hype them up for playing that they showed them. Production showed them the end of 50 that they weren't able to see yet. Again, I have no confirmation of this. But that is a very interesting way to consider they must have because, yes, they knew exactly what the coin flip was all about. Interesting.
Starting point is 00:09:53 Well, all of this is really just incredible to me. It's absolutely incredible to me. And I know that we're still talking about it. And I just, and you were going to go through it. And I'm not trying to cut you off. So I will let you continue your going through it. and then I'll continue my commentary. Okay.
Starting point is 00:10:08 So, yeah, basically the rest of what he was thinking was that the vote was going to be unanimous against Eric. So he wanted Eric to play his shot in the dark, and if that didn't hint, give Eric his idol. And then when all the votes were canceled, Rob's vote against himself would be the only one left and he'd be voted out. At least that's what he was trying to do.
Starting point is 00:10:28 But there's so many things wrong with this plan. I mean, forget about what we already mentioned, that it's not allowed. Right. He seemed to imagine that if he was voted out, he'd be headed back to his family. Thank you. No. Yeah. Because no, you'd go on to Ponderosa. So I guess if he didn't read the rule about not voting for himself, he obviously didn't read the one about what happens when you get voted out. But again, this is something in all of the years of Survivor. And I wouldn't call myself a scholar of Survivor, but I have watched every season. And I know that there was only. one time. Oh,
Starting point is 00:11:06 you're a scholar of Survivor. You're on this podcast. Well, I couldn't name all the winners from start to finish. I'll say like as some people have. That's trivia. That's not. Okay.
Starting point is 00:11:17 All right. Yeah. Yeah. But I do believe that Jenna was the only player that was ever allowed to go home besides the one other individual, the snake fight. Didn't he get to go. Did he get to go back or something?
Starting point is 00:11:29 There have been a few. So it's not common. It's, but it usually is really. is related to something else. Like there's a baby being born. There's someone is actually potentially dying. You know,
Starting point is 00:11:40 there's an emergency. Like I know Adam was told by production. Like if you get voted out, we will send you home so that way you can see your mom. So like those things do exist. But just because you're missing your family and you're sad, no. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:11:53 No. You continue to miss them for the entirety of the seven weeks and it's not seven weeks anymore time that you're out there because you can't go home. Anyway. I think. Yeah, I don't know what they do with the pre-gamers. For a while, they were flying them home when the jury came into Ponderosa. I don't know, not the pre-gamers, the pre-jurers.
Starting point is 00:12:15 The pre-gamers was last season. The, I don't know if they send them on a trip or if they just send them all home now. I don't think they send them home because then that spoils everything, right? It would. It would if you knew. but the idea is you're not, you know, their names aren't supposed to be out there yet. So, yeah. I don't know.
Starting point is 00:12:38 I'm not, I'm not sure. And there have been a few non-emergency situations, usually with returning players who like either pre-negotiated it or through such a fit. Oh, yeah. That's true. That production was like, fine, whatever, we'll just send you home. So, but yeah, it's not going to be for this first time guy who voted himself out. Right.
Starting point is 00:13:01 Who's sad because he misses his fit? Which I understand you miss your family, but this is what you signed up for. Yeah. Mm-hmm. Right. Now, the thing is, this all would have been easy to do for him. If he had just, like, confided in someone like Eric, if you want to go just tell people to vote you out. Instead, he came up with this cockamamie complicated idea.
Starting point is 00:13:26 I'm still not sure why he originally told Eric he needed Eric's shot in the dark. dark for the plan to work. When he was still out in the jungle, he was like, you give me your shot in the dark, and then I'll give it back to you when we get to tribal council. And Eric's like, what? Because I had nothing to do with anything. I still don't know what that was about. Yeah, and I'm curious if that was one of those ideas where, oh, you're going to show me that
Starting point is 00:13:51 you're loyal and that you're going to hand me what you have. So I know that you're going to listen to me when I tell you to do these things. Yeah, but it made no sense. No, none of it made. I'm not trying to, listen, I'm not. I'm trying to work through this too because like none of this made any sense. And also to think for a second that Eric would be like, oh, okay. So you're not going to tell me the plan, but I have to have full trust and faith in you.
Starting point is 00:14:14 And I have to listen to you and everything you're telling me at the time in tribal council when it's happening. No, thank you. Like, no people don't do that in Survivor either. They don't just like go, sure, I'll just completely trust you and blindly walk into something. I don't understand what's going on. And there was also no point. Even when they got to tribal council and he told Eric, well, you play your shot in the dark. And if that doesn't work, then, oh, wait, no, I do know why he did that.
Starting point is 00:14:46 Never mind. Okay. I was going to say there was no point in having him play his shot in the dark. And literally, it just occurred to me now. The reason is that way Eric doesn't get a vote. If Eric plays his shot in the dark, then there's no other vote. So the only vote that's left is Rob's vote for himself. Right. And that makes sense.
Starting point is 00:15:03 But I think the reason. That finally just occurred to me right now. And I did have a question about that too, though, because, and this is one of those rules that if you play your shot in the dark and it doesn't hit, you still can have an idol played for you or play an idol. There's no, that doesn't stop. It's just your vote that's affected. See?
Starting point is 00:15:24 Rules, rules matter. Exactly. But again, okay. So he just overcomplicated it. He could have just told him, vote for me. And I'll give you an idol. Yeah. Yep.
Starting point is 00:15:40 Yeah. There was no, you know, but, but of course, Eric wasn't going to believe him because it was so weird. It sounded ridiculous. It was ridiculous. And the other main reason was that Rob was completely out of the loop with the real plan that was happening. And Eric's allies needed his vote to make it happen. So, of course, he wasn't going to do that. Right. Now, all of this was just a fascinating representation of someone who is completely clueless as to how the game of Survivor is actually played. And I'm stunned that, you know, here we are season 51 and that someone would be so clueless. That to me is just what doesn't make any sense. I can understand players being confused early on when the game was new and things are just being developed and they were figuring things.
Starting point is 00:16:31 out. But now, I just, I don't know. I don't know how you don't know that you can't do those things. I don't know. Now, I mentioned last week in our preview portion, or our prediction portion, that the CBS press release indicated a player would try something that's never been done before to save an ally. And I scoffed it.
Starting point is 00:16:55 I said, really, come on, they're overblowing something silly. Everything's been tried. But no, he really did try something that's never been done before because there's a reason it's never been done. Right. Can't do that. Can't. You know, um, craziness. So, uh, one other thing I want to mention before we get to Anna and the rules is that I love how Survivor is showing players like Jelly celebrating when she found an idol and didn't have to deal with the stupid crap survivor put into the game previously with the new era beware advantages.
Starting point is 00:17:28 Yes. like they're telling us, look what we did. Look how happy she is. We did that. And it's like, no, she's happy that you undid things. Yes. Yes. And Rob said the same thing. He was very happy that there was no beware on his idol when he found it. She was like, I was reading for looking for fine print to make sure that this was actually just a legitimate idol. So yes, all of those things. Like, thank you for giving us that back. That was, that was lovely to just have regular idols back in the game. That was great. Yes. I just think it's that Survivor is like patting themselves on the back
Starting point is 00:18:01 or taking away something that they never should have added. Oh, no, I agree. They do that often. They do. Now, the other, well, before we get, like I said, to Anna, I know that you had something else you wanted to mention as well. Well, I'm really in a very interesting place right now with this entire cast.
Starting point is 00:18:26 And it is because I don't know if we have, just been inundated these past, I don't know, so many seasons at this point where there are like super duper survivor fans, right? And and we are, we are hearing about the super duper fandom and we're hearing about their knowledge of the game and they're openly sharing it with their tribe mates and talking about what this advantage might mean or where we are in the game. And I mean, we've seen it on like this reoccurring thing. There's been like this, a lot of super duper fans. And I feel like this season, there's probably only two that really like jumped out at me as people that are like hardcore. Like I am, and you're one I pick. And, um, and the girl that has,
Starting point is 00:19:11 and Kristen, thank you. The girl has a broken foot now. Like, I, yeah, I think, I think there are probably a few other ones there. It's where you have the dividing line of what a, you know, super duper fan is. But yeah, I, I agree. Go ahead. Yeah. So I just, but I feel like, so maybe there might be more, right? But for some reason, we aren't seeing even the super duper fans this season are not thrusting that upon everybody. They're not making it appears that they are. They're not talking about it openly. It's almost like they've determined or figured out that that's not really beneficial. If I act like I know everything about Survivor, we heard one comment about Eric and someone did say, well, Eric's a big fan and he wants to have a move. And so I'm curious if perhaps the players
Starting point is 00:19:55 are starting to recognize that openly acknowledging that you are a huge fan of Survivor and that you know all of these things about Survivor and you know all the people who won and you know all of these, they're realizing that's not a benefit. And so I just thought that that was an interesting little like side note because this cast just seems kind of all over the place. Like it's very, like I was just, I was watching this going like you've got some people that They're screaming all the time. They're cutting their thumbs off.
Starting point is 00:20:28 They're like, no one's voting together, but they're like, but we're still together. Even though we're not vote. We don't have to vote together to be together. And I'm just going to do a one and a half. You can't do a full thumbs up. That now. It has to be a one and a half. Like when I heard them say that, like we don't have to vote together to be together.
Starting point is 00:20:45 I was like, what is going on? Like, and no one is upset that like that person didn't vote with them, but they're still like, we could still play together. Like, I know we voted differently. but we're still going to play together. And I'm going to tell you about my idol, even though we voted differently. I was just like, what is going on?
Starting point is 00:21:02 Like, it just seems so unprecedented, I guess as far as like this idea of, maybe this is new era. I don't know. But I just feel like people are. Open era. Open era. Excuse me.
Starting point is 00:21:15 Open era. And they really are open. Because that's the excuse for everything. That's the excuse for everything now. I mean, Devin said that to Brady, too. Devin said, said, it's the open era. we could do this.
Starting point is 00:21:25 It's like, I don't care what Jeff names the era. It doesn't change how alliances work. Now, yes, they were on opposite ends of the first vote. They still seem to think they want to work together. I'm just waiting because that's obviously going to give us something. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:21:46 You know, it will either give us that, okay, it's true. They did stick together after that. great for them. Or it'll give us that, no, they're going to keep bumping up against each other. And something is going to happen. I feel like it's going to be that.
Starting point is 00:22:03 It's that. Yes, me too. Because you have very, like, strong personalities that are coming at the game from completely different perspectives and ways. And I don't know how that's going to necessarily mesh. So I just thought that that was a fascinating idea that this just seems to be just such a just and I know we're going to talk about Anna, but like just the things that are happening,
Starting point is 00:22:29 oh my gosh, I have to mention this too. Like this to me is hysterical. Like when Carter was talking about the crabs and it was like, they're on to us. Oh, we'll get to that.
Starting point is 00:22:40 We'll get to that. Yes. That was incredible. Yes, I believe I have that in appendix A because I didn't know where else to put it. All right. Good. I love that you've included that.
Starting point is 00:22:52 Oh, yes. Yeah, you can't do it without the crabs. But the part that you mentioned about people not acknowledging that they're super fans. I don't know if we know that or not. I mean, they could be talking about it and we just aren't hearing it. Maybe. And that's very, that's very possible for sure. You know, I used to have in the rules in Rule 2 something that said, don't tell people you're a super fan.
Starting point is 00:23:20 But over recent years, I changed it because nobody cared. Everybody was a super fan of some type or another. So it will be interesting to see if the open era swings back the other direction. We'll have to keep an eye on that. We will. Our fantasy commission says for him it's all about the friendships. Cute, Kevin, but I disagree.
Starting point is 00:23:48 Like with about 365, I get paid the second my team goes up big with early payout and can cash out at any time before the game ends. No hard feelings, Kevin. Just faster payouts from Bet365. The home of winning early. Must be 19 and older. Ontario only. Please play responsibly.

So the next segment that we would normally do here is that Jeff Probes is wrong about blank. But I didn't see anything of note for that, in part because Jeff isn't doing his podcast anymore. So it just kind of quietly disappeared. You know, for 50, he was like, oh, we don't need it for 50.
Starting point is 00:25:33 And then nothing was said about 51. Yeah. But there were, of course, other things going on. And I'll be posting some of it on TikTok and YouTube at David Bloomberg TV. I do want to mention before we get to Anna that the rules were about to discuss, come in and shorter and much more color. full version and poster form. Go to rob has a website.com slash yx lost feed, scroll down to the poster
Starting point is 00:25:55 and click on it. In addition to the poster, you can also get the poster on a t-shirt. Or you can get the checklist on a t-shirt, which I believe you're wearing. I am. That's what I'm Moroccan today. Yes. So again, go to rob has a website.com slash yX lost feed
Starting point is 00:26:14 for all of your rules need. because clearly some people need it. Yes, Rob. I don't say, I don't include that in my rules because it seems so obvious. Unfortunately, you can't get the why you lost T-shirt.
Starting point is 00:26:34 That is a Jessica original. Which was based off of a cartoon version of me that was made for a R-HAP podcaster wrestling match years ago. Which was incredible. You were great. Yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:26:56 It was deep in the lore. Deep in the lore. It was very deep. But also you might have ended up with a wrestling doll as well. Yes. I do have. I should have taken that out. Where is that?
Starting point is 00:27:09 Maybe next time. Yes. You could show everyone your wrestling doll. Yes. I have to find it. I know I still have it. I just don't know where. All right. Well, in her final words, Anna tried to do her own mini version of this podcast,
Starting point is 00:27:27 saying things like, I definitely played a little too hard too quickly, and I will always be causing chaos and mischief. And she even yelled at herself earlier for throwing out names. All of those things were true, of course. But do they encompass everything that happened? And is she even thinking about the right places where she played too hard or talked about names? Let's get into it because at RHAP, we know Survivor and we know why Anna lost. Now, the first and most important rule is, of course, the scheme and plot. And I think Anna certainly knew this.
Starting point is 00:28:00 We know she was in a tight alliance with Carter and Rob. What we didn't know until she told Mike Bloom was that she actually had a lot of alliances due to so many people coming up to her. She was also approached by Kristen and Charonda by Linnea and Alexis and so on. she said, I felt like I had ins everywhere, which is why I felt so comfortable. Now, in her preseason interview, she said, who doesn't want to lie and deceive in a setting where it's totally acceptable to do so? She even said she'd play like Richard Hatch. I don't think she quite managed that.
Starting point is 00:28:36 But it seems like she might have enjoyed the idea of lying and deceiving. and she wasn't very good at it. Like, I'm pretty sure Richard Hatch wouldn't have just yelled, popcorn when busted having a conversation about someone. I'll have more to say about the result of Alexis walking in on that discussion. But in Survivor, you need to be prepared to immediately change a subject when someone else walks in, especially since the way their camp is set up, it seems like anyone sitting in the shelter can ease.
Starting point is 00:29:13 be taken by surprise. Oh, yes, because it's like, yeah, it's right. It's very centered for sure. And I think we saw a really good example of this when Chondrea was talking on the beach and they were talking about Sharanda, excuse me. I'm still learning names. This is terrible. I have my, I do have a cheat sheet here with names because I can't remember anybody's names
Starting point is 00:29:34 at this point. I think you just combined. You did a ship name, Sharonda and Linnea. You know, you just put them together. It's not Sharanda? Yeah, it is. Okay. It is Sharonda.
Starting point is 00:29:45 Okay. See, now you're confusing me. Anyway, so when Sharonda was on the beach talking and they were talking about Anna, and then all of a sudden Anna was coming over, she quickly was like Anna's coming. And then just started talking about Eric. And it was like it was a very smooth transition. There wasn't anything like weird. And they even more like, you know, Anna come over.
Starting point is 00:30:06 So it is one of those ideas that you have to always be ready to like shift gears immediately and not make it seem weird. and also don't talk about popcorn, which has nothing to do with anything. But yes, I think, you know, it's one of those circumstances where, like, you have to be ready to come up with a cover story immediately because all you're going to do is do exactly what Anna did and, hmm, make some spiny senses go up when you mentioned popcorn. Yes. Now, Anna said in interviews that while Eric was annoying people quite a bit, she didn't actively want him out.
Starting point is 00:30:40 she just wasn't willing to fight to keep him in. It was, in the words of Ori, seemingly a layup to just go along with everyone. And I would agree that it made sense from her point of view, especially since she went around to different people to ensure everyone was on the same page and people weren't mad at her. And they all assured her that they were still with her. Yeah. Of course.
Starting point is 00:31:04 Yeah. We're all with you. Yeah. It's fine. Everything's fine. I'm not sure what she expected them. say like no we hate you we want you out yeah well but i think that this is this is one of those circumstantism and i don't know whether or not this is true i mean she's indicating that she had
Starting point is 00:31:22 relationships with a lot of people and that she felt like she was in good with a lot of people that might be also a combination of a bad read like you're just you're not aware of when people are potentially just blowing smoke in your direction to like make you feel better uh but then she also might have just been like overplaying, right? Because it's this idea of talking to too many people, not that you shouldn't have conversations, but if everyone sees you talking to everyone, your conversations are going to have less meaning to the person
Starting point is 00:31:55 that like you might want to actually have a meaningful conversation with. It's good to know what's happening. But at the same time, if you think that you are in good with everyone, to the point that you are fully trusting them so much, so you're like, oh, just make me the deco. it's fine.
Starting point is 00:32:12 No, don't. You can't put that much faith into a group of people you've spent like five days with. Yeah, and that takes us to the second rule, which says not to scheme and plot too much and to keep your scheming secret. And yeah, oof, we have a problem here. It's not necessarily the problem Anna thought when she was voted out. Some of it was because, you know, she of course said in her final words, I definitely played a little too hard too quickly.
Starting point is 00:32:36 And like I said, I will always be causing chaos and mischief. did those things hurt her? Hell yes. And we'll talk about those in a moment. But she also said, I think I made a lot of promises early on in the game and things caught up to me. Now, this is, I think, related to
Starting point is 00:32:54 what you were just talking about, the different alliances that she thought she had. Yeah. I don't, it's hard to say if that played a specific particular role. I, it wasn't the fact that she was in these alliances. that caused the problem.
Starting point is 00:33:14 It's that some of the people in those alliances found out she'd been talking about them. Like the people that I named. And that's part of the issue. Yes. Right. When you are, when you're claiming, I'm with you. Like, you're like you and I are close and we're going to play this game together. And then you turn around and you're talking about that person and you're overheard talking about that person.
Starting point is 00:33:35 And then when that person comes into the fold and you talk about popcorn, you are immediately going to make that person think, oh, no, I guess I'm not as close to her as I thought it was. So it's, you have to like almost, it's like a hierarchy, right? Like if you want to have those conversations with other people, that other half needs to know, like, listen, I'm going to go talk to these guys over here. Like, I want to figure out what's going on with them. So there's an understanding that you aren't just running around plotting with everyone, about everyone that you're supposed to be close to. like what she should have been doing in that moment if she was really close with her name is going to be escaping me not lenaa the other one Alexis Alexis thank you i saw an a in my head um like then then that should be like a moment where you're not
Starting point is 00:34:26 discussing alexis in that way it should be a different well but but Alexis is fine like when she brought up Alexis right and then Carter was like yeah i don't really trust Alexis why are you even bringing up Alexis I know Carter from what we've seen was her number one, but then have that conversation with Carter off, you know, on the trail somewhere, away from everybody to be like, hey, I'm checking in with you about other people that we can bring into the fold. It's just, it's messy. It's too messy and you're putting yourself in a situation that you then have to try to dig yourself out of, which is exactly what we saw Anna do. Yeah, I don't think she expected that from Carter. I think She was just informing him, but you're right because a lot of the stuff that related to her mentioning those players was blown up a bit more than she actually did.
Starting point is 00:35:16 She pointed this out in interviews. You know, she did not bring up Sharanda's name. Alexis did. And Anna just said, oh, she's really smart. And then she said Linnea was strategic when Alexis asked for Anna's opinion about her. and, you know, so she was defending herself in interviews by pointing that out. However, there was also a confessional that I did not see her bring up in interviews, where she said, to be honest, it wasn't exactly a plan to target Sharanda and Lanaya.
Starting point is 00:35:48 I wanted to just have other names out there just to start causing a little bit of a rift in our tribe and cause a little chaos. Yeah. And also the face that she made, too, when she was having that conversation about Sharonda, where she was like, but, mm-hmm. Like, yeah, that's not, you're not just putting out feelers. You're giving a suggestion at that point. Right.
Starting point is 00:36:10 Right. And like I said, I understand she was defending herself and saying, well, I didn't bring it up. I didn't bring up. But you did later in your own confessional and said you were purposely putting their names out there. So it can't be both ways. I'm sorry. Right. And then, you know, so then she went to Carter and had.
Starting point is 00:36:31 that conversation. And again, I can't give her a pass because clearly there was more to those conversations or she said things that encouraged Alexis to believe that. Yes. And so, yeah. And then like I said, when she was talking to Carter and Christian about that Alexis conversation, obviously we know Alexis walked up to them and busted them talking about her.
Starting point is 00:36:58 Or at least that's what it was from Alexis's point. of view. Anna told Mike Bloom the same thing that we were just talking about. I did not throw Alexis under the bus. Carter throws her under the bus. Carter is the one that says, I don't trust her. I want her gone. She doesn't know how to play the game. She walks in after Carter says that. Carter goes quiet. I'm looking at Carter. I'm looking Christian. They're not talking. Alexis is looking at me. So I just say popcorn. Like we discussed in Rule 1, you need to be better prepared. Because alex is Alexis clearly either overheard part of the conversation or presumed Anna was the guilty one because of her terrible reaction. Sure.
Starting point is 00:37:42 One way or the other, it really looked bad. So again, Anna's defending herself in interviews saying, I didn't say Alexis's name. Yeah, that doesn't matter. Right. It really doesn't. Right. And especially when you're playing this type of game because everyone is going to be paranoid and nervous and worried. and if they hear their name, it makes it that much worse.
Starting point is 00:38:03 And you start questioning everything. And not that I necessarily want to give Rob a whole lot of credit, but he did mention in tribal council how when you see two people walk off together, how you start to feel and you become a little bit paranoid because you're noticing these things. Your brain works differently when you're out there. And you have to always be prepared for those moments where you might actually get busted, which is, again, why I say if you want to have conversations about other people, you can't do it in the middle or the center of a space where everyone can like walk up behind you and hear everything you're saying.
Starting point is 00:38:40 Yes, the whole tribe clearly needs to learn that because we'll talk more about that later like when it comes to crabs. But the other thing is, the other thing is Anna could have tried to fix the situation. like she knew she was busted. She knew what she had done was an incredibly poor cover. She should have gone to Alexis and said, look, I mean, she might have needed to blame Carter. Okay, you just say, look, sorry about that. I mentioned to Carter that I've been talking to you and he was sharing his thoughts. Honestly, he isn't sure about you, but I want to work with both of you.
Starting point is 00:39:20 So we need to find a way to show him that you should be. in our alliance. Like turn it into something where you were fighting for her and you really want to work with her. But as far as we know, she never tried that. Yeah. Yeah. And that is that is the other half of I think what Anna did wrong was, you know, scheming too much, but then like also not trying to clean up when she did. And that's, you know, the second half of what you need to do when you are busted, you better be ready to come up with a cover story of some sort to fix it. Because she did claim she was talking to everybody and trying to fix it with everybody. But I don't know what she actually did to try to fix it with everybody.
Starting point is 00:40:04 I think she just talked to them. I mean, because what happened after that was Alexis ran with it. And it really reminded me quite a bit of what happened last week with Jenna. Because Jenna also didn't have much to go on, but she had enough to turn it into a big deal for the person, or in this case, people whose names were mentioned. I said last week, I'm already quoting myself from just a week ago. Look at you. What she said gave Jenna plenty to bring to him.
Starting point is 00:40:31 As Alia put it, she took a very minute comment that I said, not even thinking twice about it in my ignorance and she turned the tides in my favor. And I noted that Alia had given Jenna that, quote, minute comment to use as a seed. The same thing happened here. Anna had made a couple of minor comments about Sharanda and Linnea, and Alexis blew them up in the retelling, which is good gameplay on her part. Sure, absolutely.
Starting point is 00:41:02 Every little seed. Yes. And plus, of course, Anna threw out other names in a much more public fashion. When they were trying to figure out what to tell Eric in terms of the fake target to cover for him being the real one. Anna just started mentioning names, and we've talked about that this year before. Nobody, nobody,
Starting point is 00:41:25 never wants to be the decoy vote name. Do not name someone else. What's interesting, too, is that when she ended up mentioning, Kristen, yes, she said she went and told Kristen that she had actually dropped her name. And Kristen understood.
Starting point is 00:41:44 Because she realized it was bad. Right. But it's, but in that situation, like, I wouldn't be too happy with someone who's supposed to be like working with me being like, oh, hey, just so you know, I dropped your name as a potential option that we could tell Eric. And she made it sound like Kristen was fine with it. I don't think I would be fine with it. Well, that's what I'm saying. I don't think Kristen really was fine with it. I think she was just like, oh, okay. And then was like, yeah, no, peace out, Anna. Like, I'm done with this because she's all over the. place. She's just dropping all of these names with different people depending who she's talking to. That's someone
Starting point is 00:42:22 that you can't really trust. Yeah, because Anna realized it. As she was doing it, that's when she was like, why am I throwing out names? And that must have been when she ran to Kristen and whoever else she named. But the problem is the damage was done. She said in the behind the buff video,
Starting point is 00:42:38 that's where, yeah, that's where you must have seen that unless it was interviews that she told Kristen and Krista was okay with it. Yeah. And then, of course, we should also mention that she put forth her own name. Now, doing that, she was trying to cover. She was like, oh, look, I'll just put my own name. That's how little it means.
Starting point is 00:42:58 It really didn't have an impact. It's not like that was the reason anyone voted her out. You know, the key was that she noticed the way people responded to it and tried to figure out what was happening. Because I think that's when she ran to Kristen, actually, was. and to other people. Because people weren't like, oh, no, we wouldn't ever do that to you, Anna. They were just like, okay. And she was like, oh, crap.
Starting point is 00:43:25 I just screwed up here. Well, and I think even if that wasn't like the cause of her being voted out, I think you enable all of the people that you've just said that to to then go to other people and say, well, she said put her name down. so you just make it easier for people to make that determination if they're waffling in some way as to like well who should I vote for well Anna actually said she would be the decoy like she put her own name out there so you don't have to worry about there being any like ramifications because you're like oh well Anna said she was the decoy so I put her name down because she was the decoy and oh my god she got voted out isn't that crazy but yeah so I you know I do think that that's you're just making it much easier for people to to put your name down. Yes. All right.
Starting point is 00:44:15 Well, the third rule tells players to be flexible. And on the one hand, my first thought was Anna was being flexible and trying to work with the various alliances we discussed in Rule 1. On the other hand, the idea of that type of flexibility is to give yourself options,
Starting point is 00:44:31 not make all those people mad at you. Yeah, I mean, her flexibility stemmed from her need to try to, like, fix the problems that she had created. That's not being flexible. That's trying to fix your own mess. Yeah. Well, and it was her mess because like you had said earlier,
Starting point is 00:44:49 she was allies with these people, but then also throwing their names out and then going back to them. And that, yeah, I, the, the other thing about those alliances is that she acknowledged in interviews that while her alliance with car, was supposed to be a secret one, it was anything but they were together all the time and everybody knew it. So if I were one of the people who was supposedly aligned with her and my name was not Carter or Rob, I wouldn't have thought she was being flexible. I would have thought she was leading me on. Oh, well, there you go. That makes sense. So yeah, yeah. I don't know if
Starting point is 00:45:35 you had anything else on her flexibility there. No, I think. it was just more of a willingness to say anyone's name until it came back and bitter in the ass kind of thing. Starting point is 00:47:49 All right. Well, then the fourth rule tells players not to let their emotions control them. Did you see any issues with Anna here? Well, I feel like this is one of those times where perhaps yes, because she was responding to her own bad gameplay by then, like, I don't know if it was like an emotional response or she was like, oh, I have to go fix things with this person over here that I just wrecked things with because I told this person something about them over here. And if that wasn't, because she even said to herself why at one point in one of the
Starting point is 00:48:24 confessional's like, I'm a good player. What am I doing? Why am I doing this? And I just wonder if it wasn't more of this like knee jerk reaction of like having an emotional response. Like, oh no, I really like Kristen, I wanted to play with her. Why am I saying her name? So I better go talk to Kristen. And so I don't know if it necessarily stemmed from an emotional response, but there was certainly something that I think was outside of the game that was affecting her ability to understand that there were ramifications for what she was doing. And then she was having to try to fix it, but she was fixing it in a way that you would fix it in like a high school when someone's been gossiping, you know, where you like run over to the person like, no, they were talking about you, but it wasn't me.
Starting point is 00:49:03 Like, I didn't do it, you know, kind of, where it wasn't, it's not strategic. It's just more of like, I want to try to save our friendship kind of response. I don't know if that makes any sense, but that was kind of like the sense that I got from it, that it was, it wasn't from a game perspective.
Starting point is 00:49:18 It was more of like, I need to fix the relationship I have with them. And I'm doing that because this is the way that I'm feeling in the moment about this situation. Yeah, I was thinking the same thing. It's really hard to judge. We don't know. if she did it for strategic reasons or emotional ones.
Starting point is 00:49:38 I tend to lean with you that she did somewhat, you know, suddenly realize, oh, heck, things are going badly for me here and then just run around more as an emotional response. But yeah, we can't say for sure. Sure. Well, the fifth rule reminds players they need to pretend to be nice and play the social game. How do you think she did here? I was feeling like she was doing well at first because she did seem to connect with people quickly. She said that she and Carter connected very quickly.
Starting point is 00:50:11 She connected with Alexis very quickly. There was something about her that people were responding to. So I do think that she was playing the social game, but I think she kind of let it get away from her because that's where we fall into that. Well, I was forming relationships and talking to so many people. and trying to work with so many people, that it was a social game, but it wasn't being played strategically correct. So I think she was certainly someone who I think was liked
Starting point is 00:50:43 and was getting along with people well, but those relationships were affecting her ability to actually play strategically. Yeah, yeah. I do think she's the same as you. She seemed to be doing well socially. She was friendly with everyone. you know, in contrast with poor Eric who was really trying.
Starting point is 00:51:06 He's still trying. You know, people didn't decide to come after her because they were annoyed with her or anything. Right, right. Annoid with her because of that behavior. I think annoyed with her for throwing names around, sure, but not for this, you know, for social types of reasons. Okay. So the sixth rule warns against being too much of a threat.
Starting point is 00:51:26 I don't think at this point in the game, Anna was particularly seen as a huge, threat in general. However, after Alexis spread all that information, it obviously made the people whose names were brought up feel like she was a direct threat to them in particular. Yes. As well happened. You know, anyone who would go around throwing out names both publicly and privately, as it appeared she had done, could cause one of those names to catch on. And nobody wants that. Right. Yeah. And then what I think is this was almost like a game of telephone when you watched it because every time it got mentioned to the next person, there was a little bit more information that was added that wasn't there at the original like
Starting point is 00:52:12 discussion when like Alexis told Linnea what had been said. And then when Linnea went to Sharonda and told her what was said, it like they just kept adding like one more extra block. Like oh, and she said, you have to get voted out. Like she didn't say that, but it got added. You know, and so this is the worst part of Survivor, right? Where you give someone. a little bit of information. And depending on how they relay what you've said, they can add. They can kind of focus on particular parts. They can play coy. Well, I'm not really sure what she met by that, but she did say this. And she said it in this particular way that that was a little strange. You know, it's like, so you can, you can certainly toy with people's words in a way that
Starting point is 00:52:55 you could never actually do in real life because it's survivor. And so they're not going to turn around and run back to her and said, did you really say this? Because she's going to say, of course I didn't, right? So you, so it festers. And so I do think that that's, uh, it's an interesting little thing that I was like the game of telephone that happened in this episode. Yes. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:53:17 All right. Well, rule seven covers idols and advantages and game mechanics. And I didn't have any dealings with idols or advantages. The only thing is if she had realized where she stood, she could have played her shot in the dark, but she kept asking for and getting reassurances. So in her mind, even though she says it wasn't a total surprise, which sure looked like a total surprise on her face, you know, when it was happening. But even if it wasn't, she would have had no reason to play her shot in the dark, which is,
Starting point is 00:53:50 of course, exactly why other players reassure you in this situation or think you swear with you or do all of that because they don't want you playing your shot in the dark. Right. They don't want you playing an idol if you have one. So yeah, that's why nobody's going to tell you. Oh, yeah. No, I know. I'm pissed at you and I'm never talking to you again and I'm writing your name down.
Starting point is 00:54:12 Right. Yeah. So. All right. We could go to Appendix A, which of course, I know you have been waiting for. It discusses players keeping their end goals in mind when voting. We talk about voting out the week. the strong than the weak than the strong. Now, Anna initially seems tough to pin down here.
Starting point is 00:54:34 I think she was fairly strong in terms of her alliances, at least at first. She didn't have a problem in the challenges that we saw. She got along well with people. And those are the usual reasons for being seen as weak. However, she weakened her own position through the situation that we've been talking about, throwing around some names being perceived as doing it even more. And that took many of those alliances she had made and struck them out the window. She no longer had their support because they were worried about her turning on them. Yeah. I think that all of those things that you've just said are very accurate and fair. So, yeah, I have nothing to add. So then something else happened. Causing a very interesting
Starting point is 00:55:23 situation. Did the vote flip because of a misunderstood, overheard, conversation. I love that. It might have. Yeah. I put this discussion here because it deals with how the other players handled this vote and whether it benefits them in the long run. But the answer is at least in part, yes.
Starting point is 00:55:46 Because we saw Linnea overhearing Carter talking to Ori about how, quote, they're on to us. And she immediately leaped into action. Now, even funnier than. her changing everything that had been planned because of taking something out of context and getting it wrong is that shortly before this happened Carter said almost those exact same words to Lanaya on the beach when they were discussing crabs. How did she forget those words in such a short time? Well, because it's survivor, right?
Starting point is 00:56:26 And so your brain is almost mush at that point because there's so much information coming at you. You have so many things to consider. Linnea is feeling like she's on the outs because she's been named. She's been almost targeted. Right. So she's very concerned. And Carter's walking around talking about crabs. So you're just like, whatever.
Starting point is 00:56:46 Like I'm not interested in what this guy is talking about right now because I'm thinking game. Like I have to be on. And this guy's talking about crabs. So it was such a funny transition to then see that conversation be spun and turned into something else, which was literally just about crass. But yes, I thought that was fantastic. And what you said is why I mentioned that the vote flip, quote, in part because of this. It was or may have been, probably was the trigger. clearly the players involved were already worried like you just said.
Starting point is 00:57:28 She assumed Carter was talking to Ori and Anna and others about a secret plan to turn on them because her mind was already primed for that to happen from the previous discussion with Alexa and Chiranda and others. They already didn't trust that group. They figured that group would be coming for one of them sooner or later. This just made it seem like it was sooner, as in right, not. right now. It is possible that the group would have decided to make this move now, even without
Starting point is 00:58:00 this out of context misunderstanding because, like, they needed Eric. They needed Eric's vote here. Yeah. And if they didn't make this move now, they would have lost Eric. Yes. And so then it would have been, you know, they wouldn't have been able to necessarily make the same move. And so it's just we don't know if they were, you know, until some people start coming out who were part of this plan, we don't know if they were actually going to do it anyway.
Starting point is 00:58:36 Right. But the way it looked was this was what sparked it into action. Yeah. If it wasn't this. She went right to Eric with this information. Yeah. Right. Right.
Starting point is 00:58:46 I mean, it could have been something else if it wasn't this since there was. were already on their toes and just waiting for it. It could have been, oh, did you see when Carter looked at Anna that way? Oh, did you, you know, even though it was triggered by this amusing occurrence, it was still the right move for them to make to take control of the tribe away from that group. Yes. And I love Carter. He is my winner.
Starting point is 00:59:11 Oh, that's right. He is. He's just so like dopey. I love it. love it because he's he is well and and i will say anna was like that guy's winning she did indicate that as well that that's who she thinks is going to be the sole survivor and thinks that he's going to win because he's just so likable and he's just so the mere fact that he wrote eric's name with an a and this was a topic of discussion where they were they were like you're eric with an a
Starting point is 00:59:43 oh yeah i know a lot of erics is about their name of an a and then it comes out in tribal council eric with an a which eric responds to And you see Carter's like, this heavy nod. Like, of course it's with an A. Because why wouldn't it be with an A? He's just great. I love him. He's just awesome.
Starting point is 01:00:02 Thank you, Carter. Let's just say we have differing opinions on him at this point in time. We'll leave it at that for now. I will still allow him to prove himself to me. He's being very JT. I'm just saying being very JT. Yeah, that's not a compliment in my book. But JT won the first time he was the JT.
Starting point is 01:00:24 But he had a Stephen. He doesn't have a Stephen. Carter was trying to have a Stephen. He thought Anna could be his Stephen, but that didn't work out. So now he needs to find someone else. And he's in trouble. Yeah, he's in trouble. If Anna was his Stephen, then he's in serious trouble going forward.
Starting point is 01:00:39 But you know what? He's got opportunities now to make a new Stephen. It'll happen. We will just wait. Yes. Now, what will be interesting to me, is whether this group that voted out Anna will stay cohesive or if it was a one-time thing. And part of the problem in determining that is, I mean, we don't know about all the alliances.
Starting point is 01:01:09 Like half of the ones Anna mentioned, we never saw. If Anna hadn't mentioned them in interviews, we never would have known about them. Yeah. I know you have no familiarity with an entire alliance being hidden from the camera. But I suspect, for example, that it was fairly easy to get Kristen in on the vote because Anna had tried to use her name as the decoy vote first. It's not exactly clear why others like Christian joined in. Again, I still think it was the right move. So they didn't set a precedent that Carter and Rob, and by the way, Rob is no Stephen.
Starting point is 01:01:48 That Carter and Rob, you know, were controlled. No, we're, as you pick up your Rob has a podcast mug, you know, different Rob, different Rob. Completely different Rob. Yes, yes. That guy doesn't need his own Stephen. Yeah. Well, he has his own Stephen. Well, he has his own Stephen, but he doesn't need a Stephen.
Starting point is 01:02:08 That's true. Well, yeah, don't tell Stephen that. It'll make him upset. Okay. He needs Stephen for podcast purposes, not for playing, Survivor. Yes. That's the difference. So, so, yeah, I think it was the right move.
Starting point is 01:02:22 For all of them, I just, it'll be interesting to see if they stay together at this point. Yeah. Now, this is, I am fascinated by this idea of we don't have to vote together to be together to see if this is going to be a continuing concept this season. I'm very intrigued by this. All right. Well, it is about time to wrap things up for Anna. I know this has been a quick one, but hey, I mean, Anna had laid out a lot of it for
Starting point is 01:02:54 for us anyway. And, you know, like I said, why, why you're lost? But also, when we are done with our conclusions, stick around. We do have a few listener questions that I had asked for on blue skies. So we have a few of those once we're done with our conclusions plus, of course, predictions. But what are your final thoughts on Anna? So I think it's fascinating that when Anna introduced herself to the world. She said that she wanted to trick people. She wanted to be manipulative and do it deviously, but no one would see it coming because I'm cutesy was what she ended up saying. And so I think it's really interesting that that's not what happened, Anna. Like everybody saw it coming because you were talking to everybody about what you were doing and then you were going back to those same people
Starting point is 01:03:44 to try to fix the things that you would just said about those same people to other people. everybody saw it coming. And so unfortunately, Anna's idea of how she wanted to play this game didn't really come to fruition. And I think we see that a lot when people come into this game with an idea of how they want to play. And then they realize, oh, this is different than I expected. And this is not what I expected. And you don't know necessarily how to deal with what survivor deals you, right? And so I think Anna was really kind of in too deep, too quickly too soon, because the last thing you want to do in a game like this is give anybody a reason to look at you, to vote you out, or to put your name on a piece of parchment.
Starting point is 01:04:29 And she gave everybody all of those reasons. And unfortunately for Anna, being the decoy turned into being the actual person voted out. And it's sad that she kind of made her bed, but she did. and she couldn't fix it. And so unfortunately, Anna, cutesy didn't work, and everybody knew what you were doing. And so, yeah, she found herself voted out because of it. Our fantasy commission says for him it's all about the friendships.
Starting point is 01:04:58 Cute, Kevin, but I disagree. Like with Bet365. I get paid the second my team goes up big with early payout and can cash out at any time before the game ends. Yeah, we've discussed how Anna said some accurate things in her final words. Like, I definitely played a little too hard too quickly, and I will always be causing chaos and mischief. But, of course, that wasn't the whole story.
Starting point is 01:07:31 There are many ways to cause chaos. There are many ways to play too hard. Anna chose some that would point directly to her as the cause. Throwing out names when there's no need to is generally a bad idea. Talking about people to someone who you are then going to get busted talking about is a really, really bad idea. I guess in voice acting, you don't have to do improv so you aren't prepared for a situation when someone walks up on you and you're talking about them.
Starting point is 01:08:07 And look, I know, I understand. Anna wasn't the one slamming Alexis. That was Carter. But she was the one who blatantly failed to cover it up. And she also didn't do anything that we saw to try to fix the situation, allowing Alexis free reign to run with it from there. Alexis turned a couple of popcorn kernels of truth about what Anna had said into a full bucket of salty goodness that she could feed to the rest of the tribe. Anna didn't say all those things that Alexis claimed. But as we discussed last week with Jenna and Alia, it doesn't matter.
Starting point is 01:08:46 Alexis simply outplayed Anna. She brought in the people whose names had been mentioned at one time or another by Anna, from Eric to Linnea to Sharanda to Christian and turned it into a majority. And that is why Anna lost. So, yes, I wish I could do funny voices like she does. you know, so I could have done parts of that in a voice, but it wouldn't have been good. It wouldn't have.
Starting point is 01:09:14 You could have wrapped it. No, I couldn't have. She doesn't wrap anyway, so. No, but there was that one time. No, it wasn't. You can't prove it. I've had it erased from the internet. I don't think so.
Starting point is 01:09:31 It's on a podcast. Yeah, you know, it's probably gone. So before we get to our predictions, we want to remind everyone that the rules we just discussed are, of course, as I mentioned, in poster form and in poster on a T-shirt form and in checklist form. Go to Rob has a website.com slash YX lost feed and you can order away. Yes, you should definitely order vital, good stuff. So where else can people find us, Jessica?
Starting point is 01:10:08 Oh, yes, of course. You do this little transition and I forget about it. all the time and I apologize. So I am at Jessica Lewis 89 on Blue Sky and Twitter or X, whatever it is called now. I, we post occasionally not as much. I'm at Jessica Lewis 6-789 on Instagram. I usually just steal the content from the guy that's sitting next to me because he posts an insane amount of material all over the place so much so that he has a link tree in order for you to find all of the social media platforms in which he does content. And so, David Bloomberg, please speak to them about your link tree.
Starting point is 01:10:46 Yes, so you could find that at Linktree slash David Bloomberg. You could find me directly on Blue Sky is at David Bloomberg. And on the video sites, YouTube, TikTok, and Instagram is at David Bloomberg TV. I've been posting generally two or three reality TV short videos every day with a mix of Big Brother 28, which just ended, Survivor 51, which of course we all know just began, the trader's new blood and more. So you can find all of that there. Speaking of The Traders, I've been podcasting about numerous versions of it over at the Trader. It's T-R-A-I-D-A-R. The Traders Ireland just finished up.
Starting point is 01:11:21 I'll be, well, I was on the special Q&A episode earlier this week. The Traders U.S. has also started. We, of course, talked about the premiere and episodes three and four. And there will also be a special Q&A episode that posts right around when this one posts. maybe a little bit later, sometime early, early Saturday morning. The Traders Canada season four has also begun. And so I talked about the second episode of that earlier this week. Plus, of course, Chappelle and I have been doing the Big Brother 28 version of Wyblank Lost all summer long.
Starting point is 01:11:58 We have exactly one podcast left, which we will be recording in less than one hour. And so that should be posted sometime shortly after they may want to, you know, separate those, but sometimes shortly after this one is available. And, you know, we'll be talking about the winner and the second and third place there. All right. We should talk about predictions. And again, like I said, after the predictions, we have a few listener questions, depending on how much we have time for. So next week, the preview showed us that each tribe sends someone to visit the opposing tribe.
Starting point is 01:12:38 there is some dissension in the ranks at one tribe as Kilby says Devin thinks he's in control while Devin tells us Kilby is a liar and someone finds a note in a bag and runs around while we hear a scream of mutiny. Now, I don't think it's that mutiny twist. I mean, I suppose it could be. This is the open era. Anything could come back. Sure.
Starting point is 01:13:01 If it is that mutiny twist, anyone would be a fool to do it. but really that whole preview was just a confusing mess. I have no idea how to use it to predict anything. So instead I'm going to focus on what will happen at the tribe we just saw. And Rob obviously is not going to go back and tell his tribe what he attempted to do. I think it's going to give him a jolt of energy and he's going to attempt to stick around. Kind of like people have already been comparing it to how Q sort of, tried to quit in tribal council, but then decided he wanted to stay type of thing.
Starting point is 01:13:43 However, if that tribe loses again, he may be in trouble or I guess get what he wants, depending on how you look at it. Because, yeah, he's one of the strong guys. But he's also been a pain in the ass with all his complaining about how they do it, challenges and, oh, we didn't do this correct. There's a lot of Monday morning quarterbacking going on with him. And you're muted. Go ahead.
Starting point is 01:14:12 The mutiny thing, that was... See, the mutiny. Mutiny. That was a purple player's bag. So, and they found something in the bag. And he has something because he has an idol. So I'm curious if it wasn't players deciding what the hell. is up with Rob. Let's go through his bag and then they find since he doesn't know enough that he can't
Starting point is 01:14:39 vote for himself, he wouldn't know enough to hide the damn thing and just leave it in his bag for anyone to find. Anyway, that could be. That could be. Yeah. And plus on top of that, I'm sure, I mean, and they may, if you're right, they may be looking in there because of his weird stunt at tribal council, which they still don't understand. And who knows what Eric said to them. Right. And now he appears to be in the minority on that tribe. So I'm going to predict that Rob gets his wish one episode later. I tend to agree with that because I do think that he's put himself in a terrible situation. I do think that it's probably his bag that is being gone through.
Starting point is 01:15:24 And I think that his response to like when he's called out, he'll probably just be like, you know what, I want to go home. so I'm not you know you can have my idol or whatever like I think he's just going to kind of roll over and be like I want to go home I don't think it's going to give him like the toll that that that that that you were talking about I think it's going to just be like yeah no this is what I want so the question is whether they believe him because if they know he has an idol he could be pretending so he can get all the votes on himself and then throw an idol in there sure I mean you know it's easy to overthink that if you're in the other player's position, not knowing what the heck is going on in that head. Well, all right. Well, we're both still predicting Rob. Yep. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:16:11 Yeah. So on to listener questions. We do have a few of them here. And we, you know, we knew this might be a slightly shorter podcast. So, Mike, who had submitted a question to us last week, submitted another one. If everything had worked out the way Rob wanted and his Kakamami scheme got him, sent home. It's funny that Mike used the word cockamamie because I used it too. So I like that. How would that have fit into the rules? I don't know, Jessica, you want to take a shot at this or
Starting point is 01:16:43 you want me to start it because it's about the rule? I think we talked about it. It's not, it's against all of the rules. Like you can't, you know, you can't do this. Yeah. But okay. So if his cockamamie plan would have worked and he would have saved Eric and gotten himself voted out, it would have not had too much of an effect necessarily because we would still be losing someone who was on what now appears to be the minority, right? Because we would be losing Rob instead of my rules, my rules, how it would have, how it would have fit into my rules, how we would have explained it with Rob. It doesn't.
Starting point is 01:17:20 It doesn't. Period. Done. I mean, I think rule too, you know, I'm trying to remember what we've done with other people who quit. Generally, we just talk about their prior game to that point. I mean, this is episode two. That's a little ridiculous. You know, I mean, we've had in the new era a couple of early quits. I'm not going to call out anyone. They know who they are. So, you know. Yes, yes. They know who they are and what they did. But I think we could look back at those. And if I had had more time, I probably would have tried to find
Starting point is 01:17:57 those. So sorry about that, Mike. But I think it would have mostly been rule too. It would be plotting and scheming too much because you're scheming your own demise. Yeah. Yeah. So that would have been the main thing in all likelihood. Yeah. All right. Lil Norrie asked, is the Jelly and Pat connection already a lethal weapon at this stage in the game? What do you think about those two? I love these two together. I was so happy that they came back together, despite the fact that they voted separately, right? But I am very intrigued by Pat, and I'm curious, does she ever find her pants? Because this poor girl doesn't have pants, and that really, that's a shitty thing to not have on that island.
Starting point is 01:18:45 At night, you're cold, you need your pants. So, Pat, I feel for you. But I am, yes, I am very excited about the jelly and Pat combo. I do think that you have two very strong individuals who also are not overplaying their hands. It's like jelly. I love that in one of her confessional, she talked about how she was working with Devin, but she's like, I got to be a little bit leery of Devin because he's really playing kind of emotionally. And so I love that she's kind of clocking people, but she's not making it.
Starting point is 01:19:23 like overly obvious and Pat is in a similar in a similar vein right she's she's present she's there but she's also not like making her it not like devon like devon like devon is like everybody pay attention to what i'm doing and brodie is the same way or brady whatever his name is i he calls people brodies it's confusing me you're brady why are they brodies somebody explain that to me but anyway that's my thoughts on the jelly and pat thing i love it i think it's great i love each of them also I'm a little worried at why I mean, we mentioned it, you know,
Starting point is 01:20:01 jelly telling Pat already about the idol. Mm-hmm. I, but I'm okay with it here. Oh. I know. Since when are we okay with it?
Starting point is 01:20:11 When are we okay with that? I'm only okay with it because she realized, and when I say she, jelly realized that she's now like in the minority and she's like, I need to ingratiate myself with someone who is not in the minority.
Starting point is 01:20:29 And so she chose Pat. And so I can understand that moment because I had a very similar moment with Ken. When I told Ken about my legacy advantage, I didn't want to tell anybody. But I knew I needed somebody who was going to help me, who was going to get me back in. And so you choose that person at that moment to say, okay, I'm going to share this with you. Because I want you to know, I'm with you and I'm loyal to you. and we're going to play this game together. So I'm okay with it in this particular circumstance
Starting point is 01:20:56 because, again, she was reading the room, she was seeing what was happening, knew she was in the minority, and needed to get back on track. So I'm okay with it. Okay. All right. Well, there we have it. All right.
Starting point is 01:21:08 And our final question comes from Sarah Cupcakes, who I finally got to meet at RehabCon. She's great. And she asks a great question. Now, I'm going to need you to put your thinking cap on for this one. Okay. Was the severed thumb technically the second boot? That's incredible.
Starting point is 01:21:35 That's incredible. I would say I don't think they saved it. I mean, they put it in a baggie, but it certainly didn't get reattached. They showed it to Jeff. Jeff said he saw it. Oh, when did he say that? It was in some interview. He must have done an interview with Dalton.
Starting point is 01:21:55 Listen, that was gross, okay? Oh, yeah, no, that was my whole timeline was, ah, why are you showing us that? Ah, stop it. We don't want to see that. Nope. And my rewatch, I walked away. I'm like, okay, I know what's happening. I don't need to see any of that.
Starting point is 01:22:12 I fast forwarded. I fast forwarded. During it, I was like, ah, I don't want to see part of his thumb. No, yuck. Funny little aside when I was in, I think junior high, I had, I was in. technology class. Okay. And we had a project that we were working on. We were making something. So we were using tools. And the teacher that we had was this lovely gentleman. He was great. And in the middle of him helping one of the other students, he actually cut off the tip of a sun.
Starting point is 01:22:46 And all he did was take some paper towel, wrapped that shit up, and walked around for the rest of class just holding, nobody knew except the girl that had been, he had been helping. And she didn't say anything. And then after he was done, he went to the nurse and was like, I just cut out the tip of my thumb in class, but nobody knew what had happened. And then so for the rest of the year, he had a very flat, some, because he had cut the tip off. So, I mean, I guess it happens, but oh, God, no, I had not have handled it. I had a coworker who's finger here, ring finger. I think it was his ring finger.
Starting point is 01:23:26 It may have been his pointer. Was missing the top joint because he was a Boy Scout leader. Okay? And he had a machete. And he was teaching the kids safety with the machete. And while teaching them safety with the machete, he cut off the top half of his joint of his finger. Yes.
Starting point is 01:23:48 I bet you they learned how to use a machete after that. They learned how not to use a machete. They were like, damn, we don't do it like that guy. Right. Oh, my God, that's awful. Oh. So I only knew him after. I only really knew him after he had lost it.
Starting point is 01:24:06 So I just got the story about it. Fascinating. But, you know, listen, I did look. A lot of props. Go ahead. A lot of props. Yeah. I did look back at, at, at, uh,
Starting point is 01:24:21 someone who quit in the new era. Again, I won't call them out. I looked at my notes just now. And I forgot. No, I did not do plotting and scheming too much. It was don't let your emotions control them. That is it because clearly, I don't know why it didn't occur to me,
Starting point is 01:24:37 because Rob clearly got overly emotional and that's why he wanted to quit. So that would be where the main chunk would have come from would have been that. See, it's a good thing you have notes because you can go back and look. That's right. Oh, I could go back and look at all sorts of stuff. So, yes.
Starting point is 01:24:57 Fascinating. So, all right. Well, thank you to everyone who sent in questions. Sorry, again, for anyone whose question didn't make it in this week.
