Jessica uses her own in-game experience of horrible eye infections to compare to Rob’s “tiny cut.” And they discuss whether it was Patt’s fault that her five-person alliance became such an issue. They'll break down the rules and we'll show you how. You're playing yourself and got voted out. This is why Blank Lost. And this is Why Blank Lost.
Starting point is 00:00:51 Oh, baby, this is why Blank Lost. Welcome back to the Survivor edition of Why Blank Lost. Now the only edition of Why Blank Lost till next summer, since Big Brother has ended. Oh, that's true. You're down to one. You're down to one. That's right.
Starting point is 00:01:15 I'm David Bloomberg and, oh, no, I don't want to quit the podcast, but my right hand just started hurting. And it's the one I used to move the mouse. And I'm not sure I can go on. Whoa is me. David, wait, show it to me so I can look at it and see if it's okay. It's, it's, David, it looks fine. You're okay.
Starting point is 00:01:39 There's something wrong with that. You're okay. You're fine. It has pain shooting through all the fingers. No, I don't, I don't see any issue there, David, for you to continue the podcast. So I'm just going to have to say, you're good to go. You can keep, you can keep doing the podcast. It's great.
Starting point is 00:01:54 Okay. Well, then I'll do that. And thank you to my co-host, Jessica Lewis, for the diagnosis here. Unbelievable that you would even attempt such a thing, David Bloomberg. I know, I know. It's almost shocked. game. Yes. Yes. It's funny because last week, we did some Q&A. And listener Mike asked us how we would have dealt with Rob quitting in the rules if it had worked. Lo and behold, Rob gave up his dumb scheme
Starting point is 00:02:27 and his game to make it happen so Mike can get the answer to that question. Because, yes, even with a quit. It's the butterfly effect. Yes. Even with a quit, we will compare both players' gameplay to a set of guiding rules for winning, I originally wrote way back after season one and have been updating ever since. We use all the non-spoiler information available to us from what we saw on TV, interviews, social media, and secret scenes. The newest published version of the rules can be found at rob has a website.com slash yxloss feed where you can click on the link bubble for survivor rules. Now, as usual, we have some other topics to discuss first. And let's start with the guy. want to make something clear before I say what I'm about to say. So those of you who are on video
Starting point is 00:03:15 can see I am wearing the stupid is as stupid does shirt. Okay. This is not directed at Pat, obviously. And I'm sorry, Pat, that you have to be talked about on a podcast where I'm wearing this. Because I take this for special occasions. Okay. I already wore it once earlier this week when Paramount Plus accidentally spoiled the episode by posting videos too soon. Okay. Oh. So, yes. And so I wore this shirt for them.
Starting point is 00:03:45 I wore it once during Big Brother. I'm forced to bring it out again or Rob. Yeah. And we will talk more about that later. But there's also a guy, and this is not the shirt for him, who said he may be the dumbest survivor player ever, aka your winner pick, who may have accidentally turned
Starting point is 00:04:11 into one of the swing votes to save my winner pick. Now, which I might have included on my screen here. I did not see that. My winner pick saved his. So when he first made that statement, I was originally saying no.
Starting point is 00:04:32 We've had much. much dumber players, Carter, don't put yourself in that category, including, of course, one of the main subjects of the podcast, the one I'm wearing the shirt for. But then he went on to try to prove his statement correct with a series of, shall we say, not very smart moves in the episode before we got to the vote. So we're just going to bash my winner pick for a little bit. Is that what we're doing? Just a little.
Starting point is 00:04:58 Not nearly as much as we're going to bash Rob, trust me. that is that is true and listen i i have to give harder props because it is fascinating to see how almost like his bad luck turned into incredible luck and a great like ending result for him so it's it's it's it's almost like those those cartoons have ever seen the cartoons where like there's the dog walking around and all of these things are happening around him like things are almost falling on top of him and and things doors are almost smacking him but like he just just keeps walking and manages to walk away from everything. And that's what Carter did.
Starting point is 00:05:35 Nothing that was happening around him negatively affected him or hurt him and actually benefited him in the long run. That's true. That's true. But yes, it was funny to see, you know, as we just go through a few of the things Carter did. Lewis was like, well, Carter wouldn't be that stupid to leave something valuable just sitting there in front of us all.
Starting point is 00:05:57 But he did. That was his bag. It's right out in the open with the instructions about the advantage and mutiny right on top. Never occurred to him to do anything with that, which of course led to the others finding the advantage, specifically Maggie ending up with it, which also led to him searching for the oars that they had smashed and hidden, which may have led to him accidentally mutiny. Now, I say may have because Dalton Ross suggested, and so have others. that maybe the edit didn't tell the full story.
Starting point is 00:06:33 When I rewatched, it did look accidental, though perhaps not 100% because it's not like he ran after the boat as it was leaving. If he really wanted to get on there, he could have been like, wait, wait. So I think I saw in, I think it must have been the interview with Pat that she said something like, well, he said he was kind of 50, and once it started to leave, he was like, I guess my decisions made.
Starting point is 00:07:04 So, you know, it wasn't quite as accidental as it was made out to be. But you know what? I choose to believe it was completely an accident because it's a lot funnier that way. It is. It's very, very funny and entertaining. But I do have a question here for your survivor expertise. I was curious that they went into. his bag, which is fine.
Starting point is 00:07:30 You can do that on Survivor. You can go through people's things. However, if you go into someone's bag and you find an idol or an advantage in their bag, you're not allowed to take it. Right. So why are they allowed to take the clue to an advantage and then go and get the advantage, as opposed to, like, if you had already gotten the advantage? I don't know that they took the clue.
Starting point is 00:07:50 I can't remember if they took it or they just remembered what it said. But either way, if it's a clue, I mean, people have always been able to steal clues from one another. Remember that scene in, oh, God, was it All-Stars or Heroes versus Villains where Colby was in the room on the reward with, was it Danny and someone and they were literally fighting over a clue? Oh, yes, I do remember this. Wasn't it Amber? No, I don't think it was Amber. I feel like Amber was in there, too.
Starting point is 00:08:26 I don't think Amber's a fighter. but Jerry was it Jerry? No, I don't think so. So I'm sure someone will tell us in the comments. And this is something I should remember. I just, someone will tell us. I remember the scene.
Starting point is 00:08:40 I just can't remember who all was in it. And so, so yeah, there's different than being in someone's bag. Yeah. I mean, you're not, you can fight over a clue.
Starting point is 00:08:51 I mean, like, an idol is specific rules. And advantages are specific rules. If you wanted to go in and take his clothes and dump him in the ocean, you could do that. We've seen it happen. Your belongings are not synchronizing.
Starting point is 00:09:08 So, so yeah. I mean, he left the blue. There it was. Maybe that's what that is then. Yeah. Fascinating. So he didn't get the advantage, but he did get Rob's idol before Rob quit.
Starting point is 00:09:21 And I'm sure you were very happy about this. I was very happy about this. Yeah. And I know there have been times in the past when someone truly was getting Medevac. And we yelled at them through the TV screen to give their idol to an ally. But in this case, with it being a quit,
Starting point is 00:09:39 I feel like if you're going to quit the game and you make comments about how it could ruin the game if you quit, then you should do the least you can to interfere. Just leave. Don't try to change the game while you're headed out the door. But I also have to admit I might have had a different opinion
Starting point is 00:09:59 if it was, say, him giving it to Eric or Kilby or someone like that, who, you know, instead of to Carter. Maybe I would. I don't know. Well, and also he gave it to him off camera, not when production was aware that this was happening, which is also a big fat no-no. You're not allowed to do like game moves or game strategy when you're like on the boat. When you're coming back to camp, they're very, very clear about that because if it's on a camera, it didn't happen. So it is really kind of fascinating.
Starting point is 00:10:32 Yeah. Okay. Yeah. So. All right. Well, next I want to mention again how great it has been to see two tribes with lots of people on them. Even the reduced Savu tribe at seven players is still bigger than the new era tribes. And over at the 11 player tribe, there were multiple discussions at tribal council about how there are so many relationships and it's more complex and fun.
Starting point is 00:10:57 and they have to track down six votes, which is difficult and so on. Imagine having a five-person locked-in group and still not winning the vote. Meanwhile, if this were still the new era, each tribe would be at five or less by now. Right, right. Yeah, no, there is something to be said about someone like Carter and Lewis having as much power as they did in that particular vote because of what the numbers looked like. And that's where it becomes so much more fun to watch as opposed to a group of five where you have one person who's like potentially the swing boat between two and two. No, this is a whole crew of people.
Starting point is 00:11:40 And so you really have to work through the relationships with each person and the dynamics that are going to exist. And Carter and Lewis were so great at recognizing how strong that five was. And they were like, well, but if we go with that five, we're then immediately at the bottom of that five. giving away part of why Pat lost. I understand. But I do appreciate the fact that we got to see that type of discussion being had because we can.
Starting point is 00:12:08 There's 11 people that are on this tribe. And so it allows for much more movement and much more, is it, malleability? Is that the right kind of word? Yeah. So I very much enjoy that. And that was a good time. Plus, it was so fun to see. Lou, I would listen to Lewis and Carter have a conversation for days.
Starting point is 00:12:28 Like the two of them with their accents, so fun. They could talk about anything. I would just listen. It was great. Very entertained. Love it. Maybe they should do that afterwards. You know, they should.
Starting point is 00:12:37 They should do a podcast. And, no, we don't need any more survivors doing podcasts. We don't need that. It could just be, you know, random stuff they want to talk about. Yes. I would listen. Not survivor podcast. They could just talk about farming.
Starting point is 00:12:51 I mean, balls, whatever. So, all right, well, we're going to be talking about Rob, of course, in a few minutes. But before we get to the rules, I think it would be good for us to give our thoughts on his quit. Before we analyze what happened. Because he has been out doing interviews and in the social media streets, just pissing people off with his attitude and his BS. And I am one of those people. before seeing those, I was kind of just shaking my head at the stupidity of it all. Afterwards, I am like many of those people.
Starting point is 00:13:32 I am super pissed at the way he's behaving. And now he's turning it into trolling. And which, you know, it makes it even worse. But something I had said back in our discussion of, in the why Hannah lost podcast. it was about three-ish years ago. I said I wanted to be understanding that this was not what Rob thought it would be, and it was much harder in real life than on TV. On the other hand, this was for Rob, not for Hannah.
Starting point is 00:14:10 He has been a complete effing liar in his interviews, and it was pathetic to see all his ridiculous excuses. Even without those, this is still Survivor 51. There is no excuse to not understand. understand how hard it is in terms of not sleeping and missing your family and, oh, maybe even getting a few boo-boos. And, you know, then again, there's also no excuse for not knowing the most basic rules of the game. Like you can't write your name down. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:14:41 And it's clear there are others that he didn't know as well, one you've already referenced. And we'll get to those later. Even the excuses he tried to make for quitting were feeble. Yeah. Yeah. Well, when you're talking about trolling people, I thought it was fascinating that he, in one of his interviews, actually referenced when he was complaining about another one of his castmates who was making posts about him quitting. He said, I hate fake people. I just hate them. I want everyone to be real with me and upfront with me. Isn't that what people are doing here, pal? Well, right, that's so like he's he's complaining that people are actually being real and upfront. People are not going to have. fake the fact that this is okay. And if I may, just for a moment, talk about myself and I don't know,
Starting point is 00:15:30 a particular infection that I actually did have when I was on the island. And it was a horrible eye infection that went into both of my eyes. I was basically shunned from my entire tribe. Whenever production had to touch me, they all wore gloves. I wasn't allowed to share food or water with anyone because they were they although I wasn't contagious they were like don't touch her it was and and I was literally like it was so gross like I'm gonna just gross listeners out like the goop that was coming out of my eyes and the and and you're on an island right I'm not real clean and I have this thing happening with my eyes but you know what I said I don't care like I was crying when they were considering pulling me from the game like they were
Starting point is 00:16:19 debating what to do. They were like, we don't know. We've never dealt with a situation like this before. Even though they have dealt with a lot of people being injured, I had this terrible eye infection and they're like, what the hell are we supposed to do with this? And I was like, you cannot pull me from the game. I don't care. You can. I'll go blind. Like, it's fine. Like, I'm not, you're not pulling me from the game. Like, I am staying in this game. And I was beside myself. And it took hours, it felt, of me being completely separated from my tribe when they were determining what to do with me and they had the doctor come and look at me and all of these things. It was a major, major moment for me. And so for someone like Rob, who has watched,
Starting point is 00:16:58 I'm sure, numerous survivors who have been pulled from the game. I'm not so sure of that anymore. And maybe he hasn't because we've, how many survivors have we seen get pulled from the game who have literally been told if we don't take you out of the game now, you could literally die from an infection. and they're still fighting to stay in the game. And this guy's like, ow, my foot. I think it hurts. And like we're supposed to give him grace. I'm sorry.
Starting point is 00:17:28 No, I've been out there. I know what it feels like to be out there. It's hard. It's difficult. It's painful. You don't sleep. You don't eat. All of those things are absolutely true.
Starting point is 00:17:38 Oh, my God, man, it's a game for a million dollars. And you got picked to play. You got picked to play. Thousands and thousands of people. apply all the time all year long and you got picked and then you're going to sit there and be mad when those people are mad at you for quitting and taking a potential spot away from someone else i don't think so you can't do that it's not fair and then you sit there and say be real with me okay let's be real that yeah and now i mean just before we just before we got on to record he posted on
Starting point is 00:18:08 instagram of him drinking a coffee or tea or something with a text on it that says the amount of people who are crying right now over someone leaving or, quote, quitting a show is alarming. You people are crying over a TV show, a game, laughing emoji, laughing emoji. Some weird ass energy right there, soft-ass society. Really? Who's the soft one? And Shaheen commented on it and said, really? You're calling people soft after you left because of a little cut?
Starting point is 00:18:38 And, you know, not even that. But he's posting this and saying, why are people? reacting this way when he went on all these interviews and he has been posting all this crap flat out lying making excuses yeah and it's like no no you don't get to do that you don't get to go out there and try to make yourself look like the big man and then complain when people point out that that you're just a little lying twit. So, you know, you post all you want there on Instagram. We know who you are.
Starting point is 00:19:22 Yeah. My God, Kristen has a broken foot for God's sakes and she's staying in the game. Oh, yeah. I mean, there's plenty of stuff. We'll talk about more here. Oh, my God. So something else that I noted in that podcast that I mentioned earlier was, you know, I have obviously been covering Survivor since the very beginning.
Starting point is 00:19:40 I remember Austin's quit. I remember Purple Kelly and Nianca and Johnny Fairplay and so on. When I was still running my websites, one of them was the reality TV Hall of Shame. We inducted people like that, as well as quitters from other shows, whether it's The Apprentice, America's Next Top Model, whatever. Some of them even got double inducted
Starting point is 00:20:01 because they were jerks in their exit interviews or in other future behavior. So if I were still running that website now, guess what? would be a double inductee. In my head, he is. Yes. First for his quit, then for his interviews where he has lied and tried to claim he didn't quit. Yeah. It's just so disappointing. Like it's so, it's just disheartening. It's really disheartening because this is, this is something that people dream about achieving
Starting point is 00:20:33 and dream about having a moment to be involved and to be part of and just, kind of. How, Gosh, his foot, which was fine. He was fine. It was all just, and that he's doing exactly, as you're indicating, and lying about it in the press. Like, we're not all going to see it on TV. Like, we didn't see what actually happened. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:20:54 It's a little suspicious. Yeah. A little suspicious. Visit BetMGM Casino and check out the newest exclusive. The Price is Right Fortune Pick. BetMGM and GameSense remind you to play responsibly. 19 plus to wager. Ontario only.
Starting point is 00:21:12 Please play responsibly. If you have questions or concerns about your gambling or someone close to you, peace contact connects Ontario at 1-866-531-2,600 to speak to an advisor. Free of charge. BetMGM operates pursuant to an operating agreement with Eye Gaming Ontario. But, you know, in a way, I'm glad Rob quit when he did. Because starting with 21 players, they were going to have to have multiple two-person boots along the way. And, you know, Kristen even joked about, you don't need to do Blood Moon now.
Starting point is 00:21:44 I think Jeff is too enamored of Blood Moon. I think they'll get rid of one of those split double tribal council later. Yeah. Hey, I'm happy to get rid of one of those, you know. So maybe that means someone who actually wants to be there will make it through. That's true. So if he had just been more open about it to begin with, Anna might still be in the game. Carter might not have felt the need to mutiny.
Starting point is 00:22:10 his actions caused consequences for others. Yeah, and Anna was actually commenting too on, like, why did he just not quit at my tribal council? I didn't have to actually get voted out. Mm-hmm. Yeah. Yeah. If I were her, I would not be a happy camper. No.
Starting point is 00:22:32 It's crazy. So we have talked already a lot about why Rob was wrong. But I didn't see anything of note for the why. for the Jeff Probst is wrong about blanks segment. There were, of course, other things going on in the episode, plus what we'll be talking about. And I'll be posting some of it on TikTok and YouTube at David Bloomberg TV. Now, before we get to how Rob and Pat did,
Starting point is 00:22:56 we do want to mention that the rules we're about to discuss. Come in a shorter and much more colorful version as a poster. Go to Robbhizwebside.com. Slash feed, scroll down to the poster and click on it. In addition, you can also get the poster on. a t-shirt. And you keep scrolling, you get the checklist on a t-shirt. So again, for all of these, you can go to rob has a website.com slash y-x lost fee. Buy it all. Yes. Well, when Rob was trying to vote himself out, he said, sometimes the greatest players have made a sacrifice for the better
Starting point is 00:23:33 good. No, they definitely have not. And there is no circumstance where anyone would consider Rob a great player. He gave up his game while Pat was blindsided and would have done anything to stay in. But we'll look at their very different situations to see how each played and where they went wrong. In Rob's case, very, very, very wrong. Because at RHAP, we know Survivor and we know why Rob and Pat lost. Now, the first and most important rule is, of course, to scheme and plot. And Rob did more scheming and plotting to get out of the game than he ever did in the game. And the problem is he was he was terrible at it in both situations, not just because he didn't know the most basic rule, but also because he made it so overly complicated by trying to get Eric to agree to a plan, cite unseen before tribal council. And they didn't tell him what his actual intent was at tribal council either.
Starting point is 00:24:33 And the funny thing about the plan was we could never figure out why he wanted Eric's shot in the dark when he asked for it before tribal counsel. He said in his RHAP interview something like Christian told him to get it because it shows trust. And I really feel like this was another situation of him completely not getting it. It shows trust if you give your shot in the dark to another person. Okay? Not if you demand it from them. That's the opposite of showing trust. So like I said,
Starting point is 00:25:13 this sounds like another complete lack of understanding of the game from him. And then when he couldn't vote himself out, he also failed to vote Eric out because he didn't even know what was actually going on with Eric and the other. Yeah, I mean, he really seemed very disconnected from everyone in the tribe. I mean, he did indicate at one point, too. And again, I question much of what he said in his exit interviews, but he wasn't really talking and communicating with people in the tribe, which makes it very difficult to even scheme and plot at that point. But it was almost like with the example that you provided there with Eric, like, he thought that he had the ability to like play this game himself without help.
Starting point is 00:25:55 which is quite shocking to me because you clearly can't do that. And just this idea that he was going to be this great player, which is how he has expressed himself and all of his exepress and the chaos he was going to create and the things that he was going to do, you can't do it as one person. And so if you're not communicating, if you're not talking to people,
Starting point is 00:26:20 which he's admitted to, which again, I question, I don't know, but he did do a lot of yelling. at people. So maybe he was communicating in that way. So yes, I do think that his scheming and plotting was, bad,
Starting point is 00:26:35 just straight up bad, just bad. Now, last week, we talked about Rob's ridiculous stunt and said if he wanted to quit without quitting, he could have just told other people to vote him out, much like you said Anna was posting.
Starting point is 00:26:50 But he told Mike Bloom, I never mentioned to anyone, anybody that I was going to vote myself out. because Anna or Carter, who I was close to, would have been like, Rob, what the hell are you doing? You can't do that. Yeah. Okay. Maybe.
Starting point is 00:27:04 But you were the one who wanted to quit. So you tell them and then you give Carter your idol there to show how much he means to you. I bet they would have taken care of it, especially if you told about your horribly injured leg. Oh, wait, you hadn't made up that excuse yet, though you retroactively claimed it happened. before then. Sorry, I, it's a hard time.
Starting point is 00:27:28 It's hard to keep it all straight. Yeah. He did it on like day three and that was day five that he tried to bring himself out. So yeah, it's hard to keep it straight. Yes. And somehow he managed to never limp once until he wanted to talk about it. Then he did.
Starting point is 00:27:45 Yeah. Now, for his second attempt at quitting without actually calling it a quit, Robb tried strategizing a way to get a medevac by bringing up that supposed injury that we just talked about that nobody had heard about before. Oh, oh, it hurt so much. Shooting pain all the way up his leg. Look at that exaggerated limp I was just talking about.
Starting point is 00:28:08 It just magically started at tribal council. Apparently after he hopped up to talk to Eric and after he walked to and from the voting booth without a limp. And after he walked out of tribal council without a limp. After all of the times that we saw him walking everywhere without a limp, including in all of the competitions without a limp, it's amazing. It's amazing how such a devastating injury had no effect until that moment. Yes. And a little suss.
Starting point is 00:28:47 Yeah. Jeff pointed out in his interview with Dalton Ross, Rob, quote, never once asked for medical to check him out. That's unusual as we check in on the players quite. frequently. Now, Rob made all sorts of excuses in his interviews, claiming he had been hurt for a while and was just toughing it out. Bullshit. Yes, I'm saying it flat out. Bullshit. There was zero sign of it as compared to that super overblown limp when he was trying to get himself taken out of the game. In fact, he was so bad at strategizing, he couldn't even keep his own story straight about his leg.
Starting point is 00:29:21 On the show, he claimed, like I said, that it started hurting in tribal council. But he told Dalton Ross it was hurting through the challenges. And as you pointed out, we saw no sign of it. So what is it, dude? Keep your story straight. This is why I feel completely comfortable and just flat out saying, Rob, you're a liar. Well, and you want to know what else is interesting? Part of his explanation as to why he didn't say anything is he didn't want his tribe mates to think he was weak.
Starting point is 00:29:49 but that doesn't mean you can't say something in confessionals. You could certainly say something in a confessional and be like, wow, I've got this terrible thing on my foot and it's hurting my whole leg, but I don't want the tribe to know. So I'm just, I'm acting like it's fine. I'm just going to down. Like you can say all kinds of stuff in the confessions and they're not going to throw
Starting point is 00:30:08 you under the bus. So this idea that he didn't say anything because he didn't want the tribe to know is completely negated by the fact that you have a separate audience that you can share with that will gladly listen to the tales of woe that you might have relative to some pain or something that's happening, especially considering we've had one person in this season cut the tip of their thumb off. We've had another person break their foot. We have what you mentioned Pat's shoulder is all, was all like, so there's people that are suffering some very real injuries. And we have seen some people almost die on previous seasons, right, because of heat.
Starting point is 00:30:49 stroke and things that are happening. And so, of course they're going to listen if you've got something because, oh, this is juicy. Like, this is something. Like, maybe we're going to have an issue with this person. No, he never mentioned it. You know, what he should have said was when he stepped out into the ocean, he stepped on a secret. That would have gotten him taken out. Sure. You know. Yeah. Mm-hmm. Damn secrets. Now, even when Mike Bloom asked him if he had an infection, he danced around it and never answered. Instead, he claimed, oh, well, I know the signs of infections. I know what it's like.
Starting point is 00:31:24 And I was feeling that. Okay, but you never actually said that there was an infection. Why? Because there wasn't one. And he wasn't going to get one. Which is why the doctor didn't find anything except a, quote, tiny cut. You know, Rob latched on to that and asked if it could get infected. Well, of course, anything could.
Starting point is 00:31:46 get infected. But other players seem to be doing just fine. I mean, was Brady's thumb infected when he cut half of it off? No. He was still there. But inspections scare the hell out of Rob. Right. Hope you never get a paper cut, Rob.
Starting point is 00:32:07 It could get infected. Yeah, yeah. And he's a gate agent at an airport, you know. So I bet he hates it when people use paper boarding passes. That could threaten his life. I'm sorry, I will only take electronic. I will not take paper. Those things are dangerous.
Starting point is 00:32:27 I can get an infection. I have a family. How dare you give me a paper boarding pass? I do love that he pointed out to try to remind people, because we mentioned this at our last podcast about how even if you quit, like you don't get to go home and see your family. So he's like, you know, all these people think, you know, that I was just doing it because I want to see my family.
Starting point is 00:32:51 Well, you don't get to. Yeah, duh. We know that you don't get to. We know that. Did he know that? That's what I'm curious about. As I said last week, I think the answer is no. If he doesn't know, you can't vote yourself out.
Starting point is 00:33:09 Do you think he knows what happens when you get voted out? No. Yeah. He was talking very clearly and confessional about wanting to go home. Yes. I can almost guarantee he believed when he got taken off the island, he thought he'd be sent on a plane. Once he figured out, oh, that's not what happens.
Starting point is 00:33:30 He's trying to act like he did to backstop his own lie. I'm not buying it, Rob. I'm not either. Not fascinating. Now, I will say that many of Rob's tribe mates were wrong to associate his quit with having been on the outs in the vote. But that's only because they didn't know that he tried to quit during that vote when he thought he was solidly in the majority. However, hearing them, it was clear to them what he was doing.
Starting point is 00:34:01 And the looks from some of the players, especially Kristen, were freaking hilarious. Because again, Kristen's the one actually playing with a broken foot. Right. But, you know, Rob had a little boo-boo. Maybe he would have stayed if Dr. Barry had kissed it and made it all. better. Are we being real enough for you, Rob? Yeah. This is real. My website used to be called Reality News Online. This is some reality news right here. Oh my gosh. Rob did have some things to say about the way he played that are associated with this rule. As he claimed to Mike Bloom,
Starting point is 00:34:42 I felt like I was running a good game. I felt like I got an idol, which I knew nobody even had a clue that I had an idol. So I felt like I was running a vote one way or another. Even if after Anna was gone and they tried to vote my ass out, I would have just instigated it. Every single person would vote me out. Then I would have played the idol. And then I would have voted out whoever I wanted to out of that camp.
Starting point is 00:35:06 So they're all just lucky that I got injured and I got out. Oh, they're so lucky. Holy crap. So they're so lucky he got a tiny boo-boo. He was like the super player that no, Nobody saw coming. Yes, because he believed everyone in his tribe was as dumb as he is. And they would have all voted for him as he was trying to get them to do so.
Starting point is 00:35:29 They wouldn't have seen anything at all suspicious in that. And they wouldn't have ever thought to maybe split the vote just in case. Never. Oh, could you, wait, wait, splitting the vote, stop it. I know. It's another thing he probably never even heard of that. unaware. Yeah. Both of us, same, same line of thought right there.
Starting point is 00:35:54 Oh, my gosh. And then. All right, we're spending a lot of time on him. Oh, well, we got to. And, you know, I would have gone easier on him if he hadn't been such a jerk. No, and, you know, I will say, I was quite taken aback. He's given us more to talk. I mean, I literally had these notes written up last night.
Starting point is 00:36:18 for the podcast. And then with his interviews, I added approximately four pages of notes to it. Wow. Just because of his interviews. Well, and some of Pat's interviews, but mostly his.
Starting point is 00:36:31 Yeah. Yeah. So speaking of which, also talking to Mike, he had the nerve to claim, I was playing a hard game. I'm like, no, you weren't playing any game. You were too busy crying because of a paper cut.
Starting point is 00:36:44 Or rather pretending it was because of the paper cut when it was really that you just wanted out when you claim to be playing hard. Yeah, and what I think is he's, I wish I knew the best word to describe like he's so unaware of himself. It's very, very strange to me that he doesn't recognize
Starting point is 00:37:06 he's not the smartest guy in the room. He's not the best, most talented, strongest person in the room. And for him to just have this confidence about him is pretty astounding, considering what we actually saw versus what he's saying. It says a lot about his personality.
Starting point is 00:37:30 He was embarrassed on national television and now he's trying to change it. I mean, he reminds me of a politician who got caught doing something, said something stupid, whatever, and then just goes out and says the complete opposite of what happened in the hopes that people will ignore the actual occurrence and go what, you know, the politician is saying.
Starting point is 00:37:54 It's ridiculous. It's just this. It's just I'm going to deny reality with all of my might and make fun of people who are looking at that reality. Yeah. And yeah, it's just, it's, I mean, it's just pathetic behavior, quite frankly. Mm-hmm. All right. Well, you said you wanted to move on.
Starting point is 00:38:15 to Pat, so let's do that. You know, the actual person who was actually voted out. Because we know she was doing some scheming and plotting because we saw her working with Jelly and the two of them joining up with Devin, Brady, and Mike to form the strong five-person alliance that they all thought was controlling the tribe. We also know that she was very tight with Jelly within that group because Jelly told her about her idol. Yeah, which is interesting that those two ended up connecting the.
Starting point is 00:38:45 the way that they did, considering they, again, didn't vote together on the first vote. And yet they still reconnected. And we talked about this a little bit last week where I feel like Jelly really needed to connect with someone again. And so this was her like olive branch, if you will, like this is how much I trust you. See what I have. I have this idol. So I do think that it was, I would have loved to have seen that relationship like develop
Starting point is 00:39:07 more. I really feel like we've missed out on what could have been a really strong duo right there because they really did connect genuinely, but also I think it was a lot of strategy involved in it as well. So yeah, it's unfortunate that we didn't get to see more of that. Yeah. Now, speaking of what happened in that first vote, a funny thing to me is that Pat was the one who alerted Jenna in episode one
Starting point is 00:39:31 that she was the target because she didn't want Jenna to go yet, which allowed Jenna to mount her counterattack and, of course, get rid of Alia instead. Now, one reason Pat didn't want Jenna to go was how well she did at the puzzle. Then in this episode, Jenna failed miserably in the puzzle, causing the tribe to lose, and then participated in the vote that got rid of her previous savior, Pat. They say no good deed goes unpunished. And boy, this was a lesson in that regard.
Starting point is 00:40:02 Yeah. And this is one of those survivor times where you really have to decide who do you put your neck out for and who do you decide to try to save? And I almost feel like it's too early in the season to be doing that at this point. I can understand the idea. Well, you're making a face. When did David Wright save you? I know. I know. We were three episodes in. I was going to address that as well. But the difference between David, David didn't have a core group. He needed people, right? And that's why he ended up picking me. Like, I'm going to save her because I need, same thing as like jelly saying, hey, I've got this idol, right?
Starting point is 00:40:43 And telling Pat, because you're trying to bring people in. And so he knew if I save her, then she's going to be loyal to me and I'm going to build a group and I'm going to utilize her. And he was completely correct in that, right? And so, but for Pat, I feel like her reason for keeping Jenna wasn't strategic so much as, well, then she can help in puzzles and we can win. those are two very different things. You don't have a close relationship with Jenna. You're not trying to develop a close relationship with Jenna because you already have four other people that you're close to.
Starting point is 00:41:16 So it's almost like you're wasting energy on someone who, yes, Jenna's great at puzzles, sure, but that's not enough to save her. And so that's where the difference is there, I think. Yeah, was graded a puzzle. Yes, a puzzle. We'll have to see what happens in the future. But, yeah, I mean, Pat did say she wanted to work with strong women and, you know, of course, the puzzle thing. And that's why she helped her.
Starting point is 00:41:41 But then she said in her RHAP interview that her tightest allies, Jellie and Devin, still wanted to target Devin and absolutely didn't. Sorry, Jenna and absolutely didn't want to work with her. So I think she did want to work with Jenna. But because she had that group that you were talking about was anti-Gena, she pulled back, which was probably. one reason Jenna didn't stick her own deck out to switch the target away from her. Why would she? And that's a fair point too, because I do wonder in what order that that decision necessarily came because it is, it is a determination that when you do have a core group of people that you're close with and you're working with, it's almost like you need their permission to like bring someone
Starting point is 00:42:23 else into the group, right? Like, hey, what do we think about this person? Do we want to try them out a little bit too? And if they were like, no, then you're like, okay, never mind. yes, you might want to keep Jenna in your back pocket, but she's not going to be part of the core group. And so, yeah, that's a tough one to have to deal with because you might see benefit in keeping her, but then other people don't. And you have to decide loyalties at that point, right?
Starting point is 00:42:48 And unfortunately, Pat decided the loyalty, and Jenna decided Pat had to go home. So it's, yeah, unfortunately. I don't know that she decided Pat had to go home. I think she just decided she was going along with this. group and they wanted Pat to go home. Sure. And that's different.
Starting point is 00:43:06 Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Now, as for those two tight allies that Pat mentioned, we've already said she was super close with Jelly and talked in interviews about how they were fully strategic partners and trying to guide things in the direction they wanted. So, you know, that part was good. It was just the kind of losing that connection with Jenna that somewhat came back to bite

We could arguably say that Rob did this because he literally plotted his own demise.
Starting point is 00:44:19 But since that was his actual intended outcome, I guess it would be difficult to parse that out. So unless you can think of anything else for him, we could just move straight on to Pat. Well, if anything, keeping your scheming a secret, he really did that with Eric, right? didn't even tell him what I was going to do. That is true. That is true. He excelled at that part. He's like,
Starting point is 00:44:44 you just wait. He also prepped his injury very secret, if you believe him. Of course, we don't. So I can't give him credit for that. No, we can't. But Pat did have an issue with this rule. We heard various people,
Starting point is 00:44:59 Lewis and Carter especially, discussing just how tight the group of Devin, Brady, Jelly, Pat and Mike were. and, you know, how they were unbreakable. There was no opportunity for others to get in. They would, you know, if they joined up with that group, they would just be used as votes on the bottom and so on.
Starting point is 00:45:19 Now, we often talk about how players should not be an obvious duos. So imagine being in an obvious quintet. Yeah. And it was so widespread that as we were watching, it seemed that it didn't occur to anyone in that group to try to hide it. However, Pat puts the blame squarely on one person. As she told Dalton Ross, Brady could not keep his mouth shut about what he called the Vibe Five, a name I didn't know existed until after the end of the game.
Starting point is 00:45:54 He was telling people who were not in our alliance about the five-person alliance on an 11-person tribe. Once we got an 11th person, it was even more imperative. no one can know about this. But no, they knew. Them talking about the five was literally straight from my own ally. Which is fascinating. Ouch. But this is what makes him so entertaining, just because he is like.
Starting point is 00:46:22 Yes, he is. entertaining to watch, frustrating as hell to work with. Because it's funny that he was the one causing all these issues. Pat also commented in interviews about how she was a little confused why Brady vouched so hard for Carter and knew he was trustworthy because he lied to Brady about the advantage. Yeah, yeah. That was a big head scratcher as we watched it and apparently to Pat as well. And I'm just beginning to think Kilby was absolutely right when he compared Brady to a kid playing with the controller unplugged. I do think that Brady is kind of like this.
Starting point is 00:47:05 He's the like shoot first, ask questions later kind of response to things. Like even with the or, right? Chop, chop first ask questions. Do we, do we really think that? Why did I chop off my thumb? Well, right, but do we really think the advantage is going to be inside of the like the or like in the middle? I mean, like, come on.
Starting point is 00:47:24 Like, really? Let's just look at it for more than a second and kind of work out. what we think would make sense here. Oh, maybe it's under the rope. I don't know. Crazy talk. Crazy. So I just feel like he's just the, he's that kind of person where he's like,
Starting point is 00:47:45 oh, I'm just going to do this thing. And then you're like, oh, wait, that wasn't right. But it's not going to matter because then he's going to be like, it's fine. I'm running the show anyway. So who cares? All is right in the world. Yeah. Right.
Starting point is 00:47:59 And that was what he. thought. You know, we even saw him sarcastically talking about Tianan, how she didn't have the pull to make a move happen. He just thought the five had things on lockdown. And yes, five is a big number for an alliance. But here's a little math lesson for Brady. It's not a majority of 11. And so while Pat was not the one spreading things around, she acknowledged that she did pick Brady is an ally. And, you know, I also want to address something that Dalton Ross asked her, because he wondered if the five did not do a good enough job of socializing with the other members of the tribe. And Pat said they did socialize pretty intentionally. But that question wasn't quite the right one to think about. Because socializing wasn't the issue. You could be social with people. You could hang out with them. You can like them. But you can also realize that the person, socializing with you is busy plotting your demise because they're in a tight strategic alliance that is separate from socializing.
Starting point is 00:49:06 Right. And you're not strategizing with them. Right. And, you know, Pat told Dalton that if she could change one thing about her game, she would have made more strategic alliances and spread out her loyalty a bit more. Yeah. That was the key because it just was so obvious she was locked in with that five. Yeah. Sorry, Pat.
Starting point is 00:49:31 Yeah. Now, I do also want to note that she said in interviews, she was trying to bring everyone in the tribe together because they felt there would be a swap soon. But she saw Kilby as an impediment. I have to turn that around. And again, note that the obvious quintet was the impediment, not Kilby. why would people want to plan to work with you in a swap when they know your true intent is not to stay with them? Well, and I wonder if the idea here was we come with numbers because we've heard that argument before, right? Where if you swap and you have a better chance of swapping with people you're close with if you have five, right?
Starting point is 00:50:18 But then also if you do swap, you can say to whoever you've swapped with, by the way, I've got these people on lock over here too. So there are two more numbers for us if we end up working together. She was talking about bringing together all 11 of them. Yeah, that's, that's too much. I'm sorry. That's too much.
Starting point is 00:50:39 Yes, because again, okay, let's say I end up on a swap tribe with Pat and Jelly. Why would I want to work with them? I know if we make it to the merge together, they're not going to work with me? They weren't working with me before. Why would they suddenly change their minds now? Right. Yeah. Yeah. Well, she had an idea. At least you're trying. Yes. Yes. All right. Well, the third rule tells. Without any pants. Yeah. We haven't even mentioned that yet. I mean, it's not really a strategic issue. Oh, we can talk about it in the next rule. Being flexible? Being flexible. Playing without pants. Yes.
Starting point is 00:51:27 I mean, she didn't have a choice. That was not her option to play without pants. It was, you know, just a bad decision to let her pants get away. Those were some crazy pants, too. You know, it's funny that we had this discussion pregame about pants and how everybody had all these crazy pants. And I'm pretty sure we mentioned her pants too. And then her pants went missing immediately.
Starting point is 00:51:49 They're out floating in the ocean somewhere still to this day. Somebody, it's good. You know what's going to happen? They are. Like Survivor 53. is going to show up and pants are going to wash up on the beach and they're going to be like, what the hell are these? They're going to find the pants.
Starting point is 00:52:06 Yeah, that was the story of the traveling pants. Yes. That would be very funny. They could form a sisterhood. All right. I'm sorry. I jumped to pants. Yes, let's go back to being flexible because it's pretty obvious that Rob was not.
Starting point is 00:52:24 Once he decided that he was going, that was it. Even after he got a reprieve due to not knowing the rules, I had hoped last week that it would jolt him back into the game. But no, he had clearly made his decision and he was going to make it happen come hell or high water. And now he's continuing to act the same way, insisting that he didn't quit. He would never quit. It was all medical. And because of his family, and blah, la la la, none of it made sense. It still does not. make sense. Like seriously, if you're so afraid of infection, why would you even go out there? Even if he had watched a lot of the show, anyone who's watched a couple episodes
Starting point is 00:53:09 knows you're going to get tiny boo-boos. If he had any flexibility, he would have accepted that possibility and thought about how to handle it before even apply. Yeah, for sure. And even pointed out his wife as a nurse. So he's very aware of these things and how things can become infected.
Starting point is 00:53:32 But yes, I would think that if that is truly one of your greatest concerns, you should probably try to go on Big Brother instead. Because this is not for you. This is not the cleanliness, most hygienic situation that you're going to find yourself in, living on an island, wearing the same clothes, being dirty and gross. and being surrounded by bugs and things and creatures, you know, things like that. It's just not going to vote well for someone. Where you get beat up and bang.
Starting point is 00:54:04 Right. And get broken limbs and things. Yeah. Yeah. Real concern. Yeah. Now, Pat showed some good flexibility early when she told Jenna about being the target so she could try to fight for herself, even knowing that Devin and Jelly wanted Jenna out.
Starting point is 00:54:22 but once Pat got locked in with that fivesome, it seemed to have gone away as far as we could tell. Again, we could only judge by what other players said, and Lewis seemed 100% certain those five were never going against each other and just wanted to control everything. Plus, I mentioned in Rule 1 how Pat said in her RHAP interview that Jelly and Devin were still hampering her ability to work with Jenna. So that lack of flexibility, again, meant she pulled back a bit, which, like we said, would have, you know, probably contributed to Jenna not defending her and saying they should keep her. Yeah. It was almost like the cool kids table, right? You know, those five, they're like, you can't wear a pony. You can only wear a ponytail once a week and you can't wear sweatpants.
Starting point is 00:55:17 And it's the mean girls. It's the mean girls. But yes, I do feel like there was. There was some circumstances there that did not allow her to play the game she wanted to play because she was trying to stay in line with the other four, which is interesting because what did we see Brady doing? Brady's running around acting like he's, he'll be's number one, right?
Starting point is 00:55:41 So he's still working the other players and making them think that he's with them, but she wasn't allowed to. So that's a little bit fascinating to me. Yes, and he's still there and she's not. Right, right. So. All right, well, the fourth rule tells players not to let their emotions control them. In response to listener Mike's question last week, I remembered that this rule is often where we find the most problems for players who quit.
Starting point is 00:56:12 And indeed, that's the case, Rob, because he had a big issue here. We, of course, saw last week. He was in an emotional tailspin after they lost the challenge. He was missing his wife and kids and so on. And we weren't the only ones to notice. As Alexis even said, he couldn't handle his emotions and it sent him into a mental spiral. And Rob himself said at tribal council,
Starting point is 00:56:38 this game makes you go nuts. Myself, I just go crazy in the head. No argument there. Once Rob's emotional breakdown began, he just couldn't stop. Like I said, it was a spiral. He tried to quit the game in the most complicated and not allowed way possible. And then when that didn't work, he moved on to other options.
Starting point is 00:57:02 Yeah. Yeah, I mean, his entire game was centered on his emotions as opposed to any type of strategy or understanding of how to play survivor, period. It was literally, how do I feel right now? And I'm going to tell you how I feel right now. I mean, the fact that he was yelling at people after the challenge and demanding to know why one person was blindfolded as opposed to another person. And I thought it was interesting when he was like talking about how big Eric was compared to is it Lanaya? She's she's not a small girl.
Starting point is 00:57:37 Like she's strong and she's like tall and like what is he talking about? And so it was it was really. Well, in case she needed to drag him. which they weren't going to do anyway. No. So I just feel like he would, it was just a reactionary. He was very reactionary, right? Anything that was happening kind of around him,
Starting point is 00:57:59 that's what he was going to react to as opposed to trying to work through it and have a conversation. It was just very accusatory. And why would you do that and explain yourself to me? But he wasn't willing to listen to anyone explain anything to him or explain what he. he was going to do or anything of the sort.
Starting point is 00:58:18 It was Rob's way and that was that. Like the Eric thing, right? Where he was like, Eric's got to go. He's the worst. And then he was like, I'm going to save Eric and I'm going to sacrifice myself. What just happened? What just happened? That's just completely emotional.
Starting point is 00:58:33 That's what that is. Because he was talking about another Rhode Island guy, right? It's another roadie. I'm going to save him. What is that based on? Literally how you feel. And that's it. Right.
Starting point is 00:58:43 Right. Yeah. And, you know, despite Jeff clearly showing in the episode that he and Dr. Barry thought Rob was full of crap, he was nicer to Rob in his interview with Dalton Ross. As he said, Rob looked and sounded emotionally exhausted, which can happen to the strongest of humans. Survivor humbles you very quickly and can get you in a variety of ways.
Starting point is 00:59:08 Days four, five, and six are often very tough for players. This is a threshold point that you have to get past. if you could find a way through the desire to give up, you almost always find that second win. Yeah, Rob obviously could not find a way to get through his desire to give up. What were days four, five, and six like for you? Did you feel like quitting in days four, five, and six? I think that's when we were being evacuated because the weather was so horrific.
Starting point is 00:59:35 And they thought we were going to die if we stayed out there. So, yeah, there was a lot of stuff happening. Okay, see, Rob thought he was going to die too from his little bit. Boo-boo. Yeah, that was crazy because I will say that we had just constant days of rain. It did not stop. I mean, it was all day long, all night long. And I just remember thinking to myself, my God, I'm never going to be dry again.
Starting point is 00:59:59 Like there was no place you could go to not be rained on. And there was no place you could go to not be just cold and saturated and wet. And so, you know, that I would say that they were really crappy days. So it was kind of nice when we were like, Oh, brought somewhere else. So we weren't getting right to look. But our shelter did get crushed by a tree. So thank you not we weren't there anymore because that could have been really bad.
Starting point is 01:00:28 So, yeah. That would have been a valid reason for a medevac. If someone had been, if, you know, someone had been in a shelter that was crushed by a tree. Yes, I would agree wholeheartedly with that. But, you know, those damn cuts on your feet. It can be rough. Yeah. Cut.
Starting point is 01:00:46 Cut. You know, you can get an infection. Did you know that? Yeah. I mean, if you don't put a little dab of neosporin on it, especially, you know, because. So, all right. Well, for Pat, I did not see any problems, you know, in terms of her emotions controlling her. Did you?
Starting point is 01:01:08 No, I think she seemed very even keel. And I really think she worked through, like we talked about with Jenna, right, where, like, She wanted to work with Jenna, but she was utilizing the strategic component of the game as opposed to the emotional course where she was like, well, I really want to work with her. And maybe there was a strategic element to that. But yeah, I don't I don't see any issue here at all where she was she was really like working through the game mode side of herself as opposed to someone that she just feels like an emotional connection to. Yeah. Even though she did have a connection to jelly. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:01:46 I mean, I think she seemed pretty solid, which I would expect from a Navy vet and federal prosecutor, you know. You can't let your emotions interfere in either of those jobs as you know better than I do for the latter. Mm-hmm. Yeah, 100%. Like you are very straightforward regimented and like you are looking at the facts and determining what's going to be the outcome with these particular facts as it applies to this over here. And so I think that's the way she was very analytical and the way she was playing. the game. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:02:19 All right. Well, the fifth rule reminds players they need to pretend to be nice and play the social game. Now,
Starting point is 01:02:25 you've already talked about one topic with Rob with him not pretending to be nice for sure. So how do you think he did overall
Starting point is 01:02:35 in this one? No, he was terrible. I mean, because nothing he did made sense. I don't know who he wanted to align with. I don't know
Starting point is 01:02:45 who he actually wanted to play the game with because if we saw again, I mentioned before the whole Eric thing where he was telling everybody Eric is the worst and Eric needs to go. But then he wants to sacrifice himself to save Eric. And then when he has an opportunity to quit the game, which is what he did, he then gives the idol to Carter that we didn't even know he had any type of a relationship with. And he says it's because he thought Carter was on the bottom. So he thought he was going to like, that's what he was saying in his exit press anyway. So none of it made any sense.
Starting point is 01:03:16 And so I don't think that he understood the necessity of that social capital that you create when you have those relationships and those bonds. He really was, I'm going to play this game completely by myself with the way I want to do it, thinking that somehow that was going to work. And yeah, not how you make it to the end. You don't make it to the end by yourself. You have to have people that are willing to fight for you and work with you. And I don't even know who he thought was working with him at that point. I really don't. He did.
Starting point is 01:03:48 He was working with Carter and Anna. I mean, those were the three that were caught off guard by this whole change in plan because everybody thought that those three were the ones switching the vote, you know, when they misheard the crab conversation. So. Yeah. I mean, but it also, it didn't, it didn't seem as as like, I guess, because of the Eric thing. That's the part that really throws me off so much. Like if, if Carter and Anna really are the people that you're close with and those are the people that you're working with, he's not sacrificing himself for them. He, you know, Anna went home for God's
Starting point is 01:04:29 sakes. Yes. He could have, but he didn't, you know. I mean, so like, so the mere fact that he was completely unaware of anything that was happening around him, I think speaks volumes and him not understanding the ramifications of his own actions to the people that he's allegedly playing this game with, you don't even know that the person you're supposed to be playing with is the target. You don't even know enough to want to try to save that person. If Eric is not playing with you, why are you trying to save Eric? So it was all just very, just haphazard and didn't make any sense. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:05:03 No, it didn't. I mean, and that speaks to both his strategic and for this rule, social game. because, yeah, you talked about how he was angrily lecturing people for no reason, multiple times. He thought he should be in charge of all decisions, even the ones that had already happened. And the thing is, there's no point in reliving the choices that were already made. Like, do you think there's going to be another blindfold challenge? No, there's probably not going to be. Right.
Starting point is 01:05:32 So why get into such a tizzy about it and start arguing with people? and then arguing with Eric about how much he weighs. And then he even complained that they hadn't done well enough on the puzzle that they actually won that challenge. It's we just kept seeing you do stuff like that. And it just, you know, it plays into the whole social game. Like I know strategically he didn't know what was going on. Maybe if he had actually gotten along with some of these people,
Starting point is 01:06:06 who could have gotten some new. Right. And that's where that issue really like formulates, right? Where if you are completely disconnected from everyone in your tribe, you are then completely unaware of what's actually going on around you, which is why he had no idea that Anna was the target, which is why he had no idea what was happening in that particular tribal council. And that's because, I mean,
Starting point is 01:06:32 they showed that clip of him like sitting in the, in their little whatever it's called, you know, their homemade little, the thing the tree fell on for me. I'm so sorry, my brain's broken right now. The shelter, thank you. I couldn't see the word in my head. But like he was sitting there all by himself.
Starting point is 01:06:51 And it was a very important time to be talking to people because they were about to go to tribal council. So the fact that you're sitting there just kind of mulling over your own existence and feeling sorry for yourself, that really shows just how disconnected you are from those people around you. So and the other fact, too,
Starting point is 01:07:09 that he didn't even talk to Anna and Carter, again, if he was supposed to be so connected to them and playing with them about his crazy plan to try to vote himself out. Like, how do you not go and have a conversation with those people?
Starting point is 01:07:22 Even if you don't want to tell them you're thinking about voting yourself out, how about just say, God, I'm really having a hard time here. Like, I'm trying to figure out what to do. Try to get some,
Starting point is 01:07:33 like, soulless from people or like comfort or some like reassurance that you're okay and this is going to be fine and we're going to get through this together but no he was like he was like a pity party for himself in the shelter and so again it's just there there was no social game being played there he was really like a man on his own and then oh there's people that are kind of around me and i'll talk to them when i need to and the mere fact that he didn't want to share with eric his plan again it was like he he he thought if I speak, people will listen, period, done, and do as I say, without asking questions. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:08:09 All right. I don't think we saw anything at all similar out of Pat. Any problems in this rule in terms of pretending to be nice and playing the social game. Do you? If anything, she was too good. Right. I think that's part of her problem is that she was, people looked at her and were like, that was why Mike wasn't the target.
Starting point is 01:08:31 And she was because, boy, she really. is likable. And wow, look at her. She's got the ability to like, she could charm people. She could connect with people. And that was almost like her Achilles heel, right? Where they're like, you know, this is, this is going to be the issue for her. She's too good at being sociable and too good at like being liked. And because that's just who she is, it appears. So yeah, I think if anything, this was her, it was a detriment to her to just be too likable and too nice. Yeah. Yeah. All right. Well, we can go to the Sixth rule, which warns against being too much of a threat. I think we can blow past Rob for this one because the only person he posed a threat to was
Starting point is 01:09:10 himself. So, sure. You were just talking about, you know, Pat being too likable, too nice. Was that part of why she was a threat? I would say yes. I think that's why she was the one targeted as opposed to Mike. Because, again, people looked at her like if we swap, if we merge, whatever ends up happening, there were some real concerns about what she. was going to be able to do relative to other people, kind of bringing them in to her space,
Starting point is 01:09:38 as opposed to the space of the other six that were contemplating where they would fall within that five. And so I do think that not only is she a social threat. My, did you see this woman's abs? My gosh. I did not. Just like she is. Listen, that's also not where I thought you were going when you started to say, did you
Starting point is 01:09:58 see this woman's a? So, and also I did not. Even though she wasn't wearing pants. I didn't see that either. She is, I mean, you've already mentioned her military background. I mean, she is someone who is very fit, very strong, great in the challenges, and willing to perform, even when she has a very serious injury with the thing going on with her shoulder, not an issue for her. She's going to move forward and do what she's got to do.
Starting point is 01:10:25 So, I mean, she really was a huge threat in this game because she's got all of the things that you need to be successful in Survivor, but it's also very hard to like, you got to keep that on the down low a little bit, right? I mean, however strong you are is going to be very obvious by your physique, right? But her social game, I think, was really something that was shining through
Starting point is 01:10:50 and people were seeing that for what it was. Yeah. Yeah, I would say there were multiple layers here. A group of five as a whole was a massive threat to everyone else the Trump. Yes. If you let them win this vote, you put yourself in a very difficult situation going forward. They didn't know if there would be swaps or anything like that to shake things up. This is the open era or anything could happen. Yes, they were thinking they would swap,
Starting point is 01:11:17 but they could have left them this way. So they had to make decisions based on that presumption. And so you can't leave yourself in a situation where, you're, you know, you can't leave yourself in a situation where you're going to purposely put yourself in the minority. Right. You know, and that's what Carter and Lewis were discussing. Yeah. Right.
Starting point is 01:11:39 Exactly. So you know, that's the group thing. Now, as far as who should go out of that group of five, you know, like you said, we heard Mike and Pat's names floated.
Starting point is 01:11:51 Tinnan brought up that Mike is not, is so not charming that he won't make any connection on the other tribe if there's a swap. No one will want to want to, work with him, which I just think is hilarious. Poor Mike sitting at home watching this going, what do I do? And then she also thought Mike would be an easy target down the line because he's such a non-entity to her. But Pat would give her puppy dog eyes to people on another tribe and use her charm and sweetness and could integrate into other groups. And as to not said,
Starting point is 01:12:29 to me that's a liability. And I think it's a very genuine concern to have because you can see how quickly she integrated herself with those other four. How quickly is she going to be able to do that with a new group should they end up merging or swapping or whatever's going to come next? Yeah.

So, of course, a big question is why they didn't just take out Devin or Brady as the leaders of the pack. It seems like within this other group, each of them has some relationship to one or both of Devin and Brady. I mean, we know, he'll be on believed they were working with Brady. We saw that. Even told him, we want you to be on the right side. go with Pat. You know, but then, of course, egotistical Brady told us that she didn't have the
Starting point is 01:14:02 poll to do that. Well, guess what, Brady? Mm-hmm. She did the math, Brady. Yeah, yeah. She got more Brodies than you. Yes. I mean, we've certainly seen before.
Starting point is 01:14:19 If you can't get the generals or you don't want to for whatever reason, a lieutenant goes instead to weaken their overall position, which is certainly. what happened here as their group was cut down to four overall. Yeah. Well, and I think, too, there's an interesting thing about Devin that I'm curious if other people almost feel like he's trying too hard because if he's trying too hard, then maybe you're less inclined to focus your energy on him right now because she's more someone who I could see kind of sneaking through because she's not appearing to try too hard, whereas
Starting point is 01:14:58 seven is clearly trying very hard. Oh, yes, yes. Yeah. All right. Well, we could go to Rule 7, which covers idols and advantages in game mechanics. And I suppose we could talk about Rob's failed attempt to quit last week due to his not understanding the rules and game mechanics.
Starting point is 01:15:15 But we actually went into that quite a bit already in last week's podcast. But please. Yeah. Anyone who is planning to go on Survivor in the future, you need to read all. the rules, mine and the shows. Yes. And that huge contract that they send you,
Starting point is 01:15:38 that lays everything out for you, that tells you what you can and can't do, read that. Why would you sign it? Why would you want to read that? I'm not just giving you legal advice. I'm not giving you legal advice. I'm just suggesting that perhaps it's a good idea.
Starting point is 01:15:51 Yeah. But there was another rule that Rob had a problem with, and you already brought this up earlier. he told Mike Bloom that when he gave his idol to Carter, it was, quote, back on the boat. That's when the exchange happened. Off camera. So I didn't do production any favors with that one.
Starting point is 01:16:10 Yeah, I'm pretty sure that breaking the rules again by doing it off camera. This guy has zero effing clue. So can you speak to what you know about this sort of situation since you actually do know the rules, unlike him? Yeah, so I will say they spend a very significant amount of time letting you know when you kind of can't talk with each other. And when you were on the boat, he just kind of put it in his hand and said, well, okay, right. But I will say that. Which is a loophole. You know that that's not what the rule means.
Starting point is 01:16:46 No, that is not what it means. But when they're in the, when you're in the boats, you're not just sitting in the boat all by yourself. we used to call them like one guy we called them tracker jacker because he was like our keeper and he would he would hover and watch us at every that was his job his job was to have eyes on us at all times to make sure that nobody did anything they weren't supposed to do and that was on the boat and when you got off of the boat and when you stood there waiting in line for them to tell you to start walking you're not allowed to talk you're not allowed to do anything he can't interact with people there was a lot of quiet time that i don't think people really understand when you're playing this game because they literally tell you you're not allowed to talk anymore so you can't do anything and there are people watching you and that's why there are so many people involved in production because that's again their whole job is to just watch you all the time every second and so the fact that he somehow missed that shocks me because it almost pisses you off when you're out there because you're like, I just, I can't, I literally can't do anything.
Starting point is 01:17:57 But it also becomes almost scary, right? Because you're like, I don't know what I'm allowed to do. Like I remember asking Jeff, and I might have mentioned this on the podcast before, am I allowed to drink water during the tribal council? Because I had like my canteen with me. And he was like, yeah, you can do whatever you want. That's fine. But you are so locked into this mindset of what you can.
Starting point is 01:18:20 can and cannot do, which is why the season after hours, when people started getting up during tribal council and talking, I was like, you can do that? Because you are not allowed to move seats. Like, it was like, this is your, like, they literally had a drawing. Like, this is where you're sitting. And you're like, okay. And like, that's, I'm glued to that spot, right? But that's how production makes it all work and gets it all, like, set and put together, right? So I just, I cannot fathom how he, I mean, he must have known still decided to do it anyway. I don't know that we can say he must have known. I mean, this doofus didn't know any of the rules.
Starting point is 01:19:02 He thought he could write his own name. How could you not? I know, I know. I mean, right there. Like if you don't know the most basic rule, how can we expect you to know any of the rules? He clearly didn't pay any attention whatsoever. Yeah, I mean, he had to have been, he, he, I mean, there has to be something like an inability of, of him must exist in some way because it's almost like you can't miss it because it's so apparent and it's so obvious of what they're like, people were getting in trouble. I mean, it was like, it's that, it's like that serious where they're like they're yelling at people or they're pulling people out.
Starting point is 01:19:42 They're pointing things out that you're doing. Production makes it very clear. Like when you have crossed. a line or almost crossed a line. And I think, again, they do that because they have to because Jeff said in one of our tribal councils, after the cameras were off, because he got upset with something someone did, he's like, this is a game for a million dollars. And you're not fucking with my game for a million dollars. Excuse my language. But that was literally what Jeff said.
Starting point is 01:20:09 But it's true, right? I mean, like, if you really think about it, that's a huge amount of money that someone is going to walk away with. And the last thing that production wants is anybody questioning their integrity, questioning how they do things, questioning how things were done. And an idol is a huge component of this game. Huge. It can literally make or break someone's game moving forward. It could cause someone to even potentially get to the end and maybe win, right, if they have an idol.
Starting point is 01:20:39 So the fact that you would utilize a moment that's not a game moment, it's an out-of-game moment, to then, and give Carter something as much as I love Carter because he's my winner pick that could affect the game moving forward. It's just kind of, it's just crappy for the season because nobody saw it happen. Nobody knows why it happened. We have to kind of take him for what he said, but we can't believe half of what he said anyway. So all of it is really just, it's very frustrating. It's very frustrating as a player having gone through that to know what production goes
Starting point is 01:21:16 through to make this game possible, that he would just kind of be, yeah, whatever, I'm going to do what I want anyway, right? Yeah. Yeah. I mean, that's, his whole schick is doing whatever he wants anyway. Mm-hmm. Yeah. Now, someone asked me why production allowed it if it was against the rules.
Starting point is 01:21:34 Like, why didn't they take it from court? My guess is they didn't want to penalize Carter because of Rob screwing up. You know, I mean, Rob, Rob likely took. told them about it afterwards or Carter did. So they confirmed it that, you know, Carter didn't just like steal it out of his bag or anything. But what were they going to do at that point? Like, okay, they could have yelled at Rob.
Starting point is 01:22:00 What good would that have done? Rob was in the midst of quitting at that point. Right. Yeah. No, and that's probably a very valid point as to why they didn't. Because I do think, again, there are certain things you can control and things that you can't, even though you tell people they're not allowed to talk, that doesn't mean they can't look at each other. It doesn't mean they can't make eyes at each other. It doesn't mean they can
Starting point is 01:22:19 kind of gesture over towards somebody. And so those things can certainly happen, which is why production is watching them at all times. But something that like an idol, yes, I think it would be, it would be very unfair to Carter to be penalized for someone else acting outside of the rules of the game and taking that away from him. Yeah. All right, for Pat, we talked earlier about how Jelly told her about the idol she found. But nothing came of that other than, you know, bonding them more closely together. It's not like they made a plan to use it. Now, she did say in at least one interview, I saw that if Brady had told them about his
Starting point is 01:22:59 conversation with Kilby and Tanan, where they said Pat was the target, Jelly might have used the idol on her. Yes. But, of course, Brady didn't tell them because he was so sure of himself. So once again, Brady causes more problems. for poor Pat. Come on, Brady. Yeah, like, Brady is, again, fascinating.
Starting point is 01:23:23 Just fascinating. Where is his true loyalty? Is it to Pat or is it to Kilby? I think it's true. Who did they think they had? Did they think they had Lewis? Is that what it was in Carter? Did they believe them?
Starting point is 01:23:35 Yeah, they thought they had at least Carter. Because Brady vouched for him. Remember, Brady said, oh, I trust him. I trust him. Oh, yes, that's true. That's true. Mm-hmm. Okay.
Starting point is 01:23:44 So, that was. Now, other than that, I can't think of anything else for her in this rule. Can you? No, I don't think so. Okay. And we can move on to Appendix A, which discusses players keeping their end goals in mind when voting. And we talk about voting out the weak, then the strong, then the weak, then the strong. Nothing to talk about here for Rob, since his end goals were getting out of there.
Starting point is 01:24:05 So he met them. Congratulations. Excellent. For the other tribe, clearly the outsiders group took out a strong contender. in path. Now, it's a little early under normal circumstances to switch to this, but they really didn't have a choice. It had to be done now, which circles back to them, you know, keeping those end goals in mind because they knew that if they wanted to get to the end, they had to break up that five. Lewis and Carter discussed it and saw that Devin was running the show, but they weren't part of
Starting point is 01:24:43 is type five, meaning they had this end game problem sitting in front of them. Meanwhile, both also said that the other four were not as locked in with one another as the five. So those two would have more opportunities with them to kind of shift things around. They were not just numbers six and seven on a list. They were, you know, at least more or less equals among this group. It could even take the lead potentially. Yeah, I love that we're seeing this type. of calculation being done because we've seen it so many times where there's a core strong group
Starting point is 01:25:18 that continues to just kind of move their way through the game and there are the outliers who don't try to necessarily take down that group and I think part of the issue might be related to the small-sized tribes that we've seen it changes it greatly when you have more people to utilize and to actually right it's it's kind of insane right we're like wow we have 11 players to play with instead of only six or five. Yeah. So I think that's, it's really nice to see this type of gameplay happening because the numbers are so much more expansive.
Starting point is 01:25:55 Yeah. Don't get used to it. All right. We'll get to that in a bit. It is about time to wrap things up for Rob and Pat. So what are your final thoughts on them? Rob, you don't deserve my final thoughts, okay? I know that you're going to get a lot from David Bloomberg,
Starting point is 01:26:14 but as someone who did play this game and someone who did actually have an infection that could have actually taken her out of the game, I have very little respect for what you did and how you treated this game, someone who loves Survivor and who was still, to this day, very grateful I had an opportunity to play, and I wouldn't have allowed myself any
Starting point is 01:26:40 any semblance of quitting in any way, shape, or form, as I indicated at the beginning of this podcast, if I thought I was going to go blind, that would have been terrible. But like, listen, I'm here to fight and win a million dollars. And that's what it boiled down to for me. So sorry, Rob. I'm going to be real with you. And that's my real feelings. No, that's my real feelings towards it.
Starting point is 01:27:04 As for Pat, gosh, another prosecutor, although a federal prosecutor, nothing wrong with that very impressive for sure. I was very intrigued by Pat and I was super like excited to see how she was going to play this game because being an attorney is always a little bit as you know scary because people sometimes make some determinations about attorneys. It does appear that somebody called her out on it and we're like called her like, oh, you're an attorney. Well, she said something. Yeah. She talked about going to a. a group called, she said Lambda, which is a LGBTQ plus legal association or something like that. Apparently, yeah.
Starting point is 01:27:49 Yeah. Yeah. So she mentioned this. And then someone was like, oh, wait a second. But it doesn't appear to have hurt her in any way. But I, so I was, I was really excited just to see what she was going to bring to the game. Because I do think, as I indicated, she was kind of that like triple threat that we, that we rarely see where you have someone who has the social ability, has the strategic,
Starting point is 01:28:10 ability and the strength to actually get through this game and to fight through an infection and not care about it. Thank you, Pat, for being that way. It's such a rather fresh air when you're opposite someone like Rob. But yeah, so it's just unfortunate that Pat found herself in a circumstance that you would think would be a really great one on Survivor, like, wow, I have four other people who are in my corner and are playing the game with me. But what she didn't plan for was that some people within that group were playing for themselves, which is what I think we saw Brady doing because Brady was, he was playing with the other people, right? He was testing the waters over there to see what was going on.
Starting point is 01:28:53 And she wasn't allowed to do that, as we talked about, where she wanted to with Jenna and was unfortunately, that was tapped down a little bit, so she wasn't allowed to. So it's too bad that she wasn't able to flourish as much as I was hoping she would. I do think that unfortunately that group became her demise instead of giving her an ability to really like control things in the game because she limited herself to those five or to the four, I guess, and she being the fifth. So overall, Pat, sorry to see you go. I was very excited to watch play the game.
Starting point is 01:29:27 I hope your pants do arrive somewhere. I maybe you'll get some. I'm hoping people are sending you pants. That would be really lovely. If like all of a sudden they're like, hey, you wanted to represent a small designer on the island? Here's some more pants for you. That would be lovely. So people send Pat pants.
Starting point is 01:29:43 So she doesn't have to be pantless Pat anymore. So those are my thoughts on Pat. I've heard of a GoFund me. I've never heard of a go pant me. God, that's such a good phrase. Go pant pat. I love it. It's a good thing.
Starting point is 01:30:02 All right. Well, I mentioned earlier that Rob said in the voting booth, sometimes the greatest players have made a sacrifice for the better good. Again, no, they definitely have not. Because if you're doing that, by definition, you're not a great player. And there is nobody in this entire survivor universe who would believe that Rob himself is a great player, or even a good player, or for that matter, even a player. Because Rob came up with excuses to make it look like he wasn't quitting when he very,
Starting point is 01:30:34 clearly was. We found out in Pat's interview with Dalton Ross and RHAP, something that you've mentioned, you've referenced this already, but to go into the details, she rugburned her back in the first challenge. It got actually infected. And then when she had a jacket on and took it off, she ripped skin off of it. Did we hear her complain or try to quit? No. Instead, she was so mad about being voted out that when she came up to Jeff, she slammed her torch down. But Rob, he had a sad and tried to snuff his own torch. I remember that Rob stood out to me in his pregame press because he said he'd never been in the wilderness, you don't say, but felt being a gate agent prepared him for survivor. Now, I made fun of that comparison at the time. Oh, that's right. Yes. Boy, oh boy, was I right.
Starting point is 01:31:32 he was completely unprepared for any of this. Oh my God. As I said earlier, if he was so scared of getting even the most minor cut, he never should have applied to play. And look, I'm sure there will be some people who believe I've been too hard on Rob. But everything I've said has been objectively true. I may have said it in a louder voice, perhaps, but it's been objectively true. And if Rob had come out in his interviews and taken the bull,
Starting point is 01:32:02 blame, admitted what actually happened, been a little tiny bit accepting of reality, shown a little bit of remorse for it happening, or even if not remorse, even if he wasn't sorry it happened, just acknowledged that it happened. I would have cut him some slack. But he did the opposite. I mentioned earlier, he's like a politician who gets caught in a lie or a compromising situation, it just doubles and triples down rather than admitting what the video evidence clearly showed. He even had the nerve to tell Dalton Ross, I don't feel like I quit Survivor. Yeah, I don't care what you feel.
Starting point is 01:32:37 You did quit Survivor, and it was incredibly blatant. And now you're embarrassed and trying to pretend otherwise. No, screw that. Rob even tried to puff himself up by saying in many of his interviews that he's become a reality TV villain, and he seems happy with that role. And he claimed to Mike Bloom, I felt like I was the main character in the game.
Starting point is 01:33:00 But no, again, to both. Rob, you're not even a villain. You're certainly not a main character. You're just a quitter. You're barely a side character. You will hopefully be forgotten in the dustbin of survivor history. You are a footnote. And I, that is with pun intended.
Starting point is 01:33:20 Pat had the unfortunate situation of getting voted out in the same episode as Rob quit. Again, I'm sorry, Pat that you had to be kind of, you know, know, a party to all of this at the same time, even though it had nothing to do with you. And, you know, because, yes, we spent a lot of time talking about Rob and also because of how much time was spent on the show for, you know, showing all of the crap Rob was pulling, meaning we probably got to see less of her story and how things were happening from her point to view because they had to show Rob. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:33:58 seemed to be... That's true. Yeah. She seemed to be in a solid position in her tribe. And Alliance of five is nothing to be sneezed at, even with 11 people. It's not quite the majority, but you'd think certainly you could pull in one more person, right? No. Because everyone else, even the two new guys, fully knew how tight that quintet was. While she was trying to rally everyone to work together in case of a swap, the others were more worried about what was happening in the here and not.
Starting point is 01:34:28 and perhaps even the possibility that there would not be a swap, just a steam rule. And they certainly didn't want that. Heck, even in the case of a swap, again, what if one of them ended up on a tribe with a couple from that alliance? They knew it would not end up being good for them. So either way, they had to do something to at least reduce that alliance's numbers. When they looked at the possible options, Devin and Brady seemed to be off the table. plus why would you bother with them now considering Devin's radical honesty and Kilby's assessment of Brady?
Starting point is 01:35:02 Pat was the most threatening player left there and all her talk of a potential swap may have planted in the other's minds how easily she could have switched sides. Rob and Pat. Oh, interesting. Rob and Pat left for very different reasons. Rob whined about a, quote, tiny cut and was upset. couldn't vote himself out. So he moped around, made up a story and quit. Pat cut it out an injury. We really didn't even see on the show and was angry to be blindsided. And that is why Rob and Pat lost.
Starting point is 01:35:39 Hmm. Terrible. Sorry, Pat. Had to be dragged in with that one. Yes, yes. All right, well, before we get to our predictions, we want to remind everyone that the rules we just discussed here are available in a poster form and of course poster on a t-shirt form and checklist on a t-shirt form. So again, go to rob his website.com slash y-x lost feed to order everything. Yes. And if you have any interest in finding either of us on social media, I am at Jessica Lewis 89 on both, I know they should, right, on both Blue Sky and X or Twitter, whatever the hell it's called at this point. And I am at Jessica Lewis, 6789 on Instagram. But I unfortunately have fallen a little bit by the wayside when it comes to social media content. I'm a little busy in other
Starting point is 01:36:39 parts of my life. However, David Bloomberg provides so much content that sometimes I just steal his stuff because it's so damn good. So you should definitely check out everything. that David Bloomberg is doing so much content. He has what's called a link tree to allow you to find all of the locations where he is posting his various clips, videos, things about himself in addition to things about reality TV. So check him out. Where's your link tree at? David, what's all that about?
Starting point is 01:37:07 It's at link tree slash David Bloomberg. Or you can find me directly on blue skies at David Bloomberg. I think you mentioned that. I don't remember now. And on the video sites, TikTok, YouTube and Instagram is at David Bloomberg TV. I've been posting two or three reality TV short videos every day. Now, Big Brother, pretty much tailed off. So it's a mix of Survivor 51, of course.
Starting point is 01:37:30 The Traders U.S. New Blood, Celebrity Traders, UK, and more. And then speaking of the traders, I've been podcasting about numerous versions of it over on the Trader. That's T-R-A-I-D-A-R. I talked about the Traders Canada episode three earlier in the week. I'll be talking about the Traders' U.S. New Blood, episode five on Friday, and I'll hop on to a Celebrity Traders UK podcast next week as well. Excellent. Look at you.
Starting point is 01:38:02 Yes. All right. So predictions. Next time, bribe swap with 17 players. So this was likely intended to be three tribes of six, but now it'll be six, six, and five. you know, here we were talking about how much we were enjoying all the different complex ways. Bloomberg, David. What?
Starting point is 01:38:29 Really? Is it going to be three? Do we know this? I mean, are you guessing. Are you guessing? So, yes. Oh, God, I hate my life right now.
Starting point is 01:38:39 I loved the large tribes. I know. I know. I know. All right. Well, I'm going to make my prediction then. Okay. Go for it.
Starting point is 01:38:50 you're not going to like it well you're going to be wrong so I'll like it just fine but go ahead oh okay so I'm going to say Kilby and I'm going to say Kilby because here's what's happening we've seen a lot of Devin throwing Kilby under the bus we've seen a lot of Devin period I don't think Devon is long for this game but I still think he's got a likable characteristic about him that people are going to let him stick around because it's a whole like they'll just be truthful and I'll tell you what's going on
Starting point is 01:39:19 right He hasn't been on the right side of the vote yet. So, but he told everybody on the other tribe how much of a snake your little Kilby winner pick is. And so there might be some people who are feeling a little suss about Kilby. And if they end up on a tribe with him and he's not with many people from his group, which we know is not that tight and not that close, I feel like he's going to be on a tough. spot. So that's my prediction. Well, which won't matter because I'll be wrong because I'm always wrong about them. So you'll be fine. I mean, we do know that Eric and Kilby will be together. We saw that in the preview.
Starting point is 01:40:02 Okay. I'm calling that the Y Blank Lost Alliance. I think it'll be fun. Um, Ori and jelly. Okay. Are going to be back together. Um, maybe they'll talk more about lasagna, which is definitely not talking about lasagna. You know what I mean. Mike and Maggie are still together. Lots of layers in that lasagna. Oh, yes, lots of layers. Mike and Maggie are still together. And we hear him saying he's trying to turn on the charm while she appears to make a face in response to that. And based on what we heard about Mike's charm level in this past episode, I have doubts it'll be successful. So I am not really worried about my winner pick Kilby.
Starting point is 01:40:52 I think he will be fine. Okay. He has Eric. If Eric has any of his people there, I, you know, Kilby has any of his. I think, but does Eric really have people? I mean, he thinks he does.
Starting point is 01:41:06 Does Eric really have people? He thinks he does. But that's the problem. He thinks he does. I thought she had people too. People reached, people reached out to him. So, you know,
Starting point is 01:41:19 and brought him in. Now, are they super tight? Probably not. And is he still with those same people? We don't know. As far as we know, they are, you know,
Starting point is 01:41:29 they were all anti-Carter and Robb. So, we'll have to see. No, but with the swap, we don't know who's going to end up. Oh, you mean literally with,
Starting point is 01:41:41 not a lion-wise with. Literally, literally in the same tribe. I think it's a good chance that there's at least one. or two of them there. I mean, it was, it was six other people. Like literally every other person left on the tribe was in that group that voted out Anna.
Starting point is 01:42:03 Now, Ori did not technically vote out Anna, but he knew about it. And he was okay with it. But here's the other thing, too, though. And not that I want to rain on your parade or anything. But it's not that they necessarily liked, I mean, I kind of do. it's not like they necessarily wanted to work with Eric. They were utilizing Eric for that vote because they were like, well, we know that we can get Eric on our side with this particular vote. So it's a different type of loyalty when it's not about like based on a trust relationship.
Starting point is 01:42:34 It's more like a need base. Like, well, we need him right now. He's a number so he can use him. So I don't know. It'll be interesting to see how that shakes out. I mean, who knows? Maybe maybe what did they refer to themselves though? they gave themselves a name, didn't they?
Starting point is 01:42:47 Kilby and Eric. I don't remember. I gave them a name. I know, but they gave themselves a name and it was weird, but I don't remember what it was. I don't remember what it was. I have to go back and look. Yeah. I feel like they did.
Starting point is 01:43:01 All right. So we don't have much to go on. Since we got that little shot of Mike and he was mentioned this week, I know it's going against Hubecky's law to say, well, because we saw one person. Uh-oh. But it's literally other way.
Starting point is 01:43:15 It's just randomly picking. I think Mike will be the next one voted out. All right. Okay. I mean, and plus he works for the Yankees. So that's another reason. Moneyball. Moneyball guy.
Starting point is 01:43:28 Yeah. And how are the Yankees doing right about now? I have no idea. Once the Cubs were knocked out, I stopped paying attention to the white socks. But other than that, I'm not at all paying attention. Doesn't sound like they're doing too hot. So I don't know much about them, but.
Starting point is 01:43:44 Oh, they did have a home run. taken away because of a fan. I know that. I saw that. Yes. That's insane. But it happens, I guess. Yeah. That fan is going to be ostracized, almost like Rob. Maybe his foot hurt too. All right.
