RHAP: We Know Survivor - Why ___ Lost Survivor 51 Ep 4
Episode Date: October 17, 2026Why ___ Lost Survivor 51 Ep 4 Also available on YouTube. Survivor 51, episode 4 gets the “Why __ Lost” treatment from David Bloomberg and Jessica Lewis, as they break down Jenna’s elim...ination and the game mechanics behind it. The hosts dig deep into whether Jenna was truly “swap screwed” or if early missteps sealed her fate, sparking a wider look at alliance-building, production decisions, and the ripple effects of early-game strategy. With a swap shaking up the tribes and fresh alliances forming (and imploding), David and Jessica unpack every layer of social and emotional gameplay that led to Jenna’s downfall. This episode jumps headfirst into Survivor’s 3-tribe swap and the behind-the-scenes choices that triggered it, including debates about production flexibility and how twists like these can shape or stifle authentic gameplay. David and Jessica analyze player confessionals and post-episode interviews to dissect the origin of Jenna’s struggles, from her emotional withdrawal on day 1 to the powerful alliances that solidified without her. Discussion turns to the Vibe 5 alliance, the cold calculations of playing from a deficit, and the ways players adapt or get left behind. The hosts also touch on Survivor archetypes, provider vs. strategist roles, and the comic relief brought by players like Carter. Key moments explored: Jenna’s day 1 emotional breakdown creates distance from her tribe and shapes early perceptions of her game intent Formation of the “helicopter alliance” and how secret early bonds determine the outcome of the swap David and Jessica debate the impact of sticking to pre-set twists versus adapting to unpredictable game events, like a player quitting just before a swap Devin’s relentless focus on targeting Jenna, including social reactions and odd moments like naming a chicken after her The challenge of keeping social ties and strategic flexibility alive when numbers and twists are stacked against you With new game-altering twists and hidden alliances in play, Survivor 51’s fourth episode raises critical questions: Could Jenna have turned her game around with different early choices? Who’s truly driving the tribe dynamics, and are production decisions helping or hurting deeper gameplay? Listen for an in-depth Survivor strategy session and see where alliances — and obsessions — lead next. This is why Blank lost.
And this is why Blank Loss.
This is why Blank Blast.
Welcome back to Why Blank Lost.
I'm David Bloomberg and unlike on Survivor, we will not be having any sort of a swap.
So that means my co-host Jessica Lewis is right here with me as always.
Oh, thank gosh, because really, who would I swap with?
There's no one else here.
Your pickings would be slim, definitely very slim.
But I am happy to say there won't be a swap, but I'm sad to say that we will be discussing a swap on this particular.
by Blink last episode.
Yes.
Now, I know right from the top, let's address this here.
There have been some people saying, oh, Jenna was swap screwed.
So the reason she lost was obvious.
And as usual, no, it's not that simple at all.
In fact, Jenna herself said she wasn't swap screwed.
And I appreciated her take on that because it shut that down.
Like, you know, there were some interviews that started.
Well, you were obviously swap screwed.
And she was like, no, no, I wasn't.
So I appreciated the ones who asked her, do you feel you were and allowed her to give her opinion on that.
And, you know, because things are almost always more complex than they seem, we'll get to the answer the same way we always do by following our usual path.
Comparing Jenna's gameplay to a set of guiding rules for winning, I originally wrote way back after season one and have been an update.
dating ever since. We'll use all these non-spoiler information available to us from what we saw
on TV, interviews, social media, and secret scenes. And of course, the newest published version of
the rules can be found at rob has a website.com slash yX lost feed, where you can click on the link
bubble for the survivor rules. As usual, we have some other topics to discuss first.
And I want to switch up the order a bit of these pre-rules things to bring back our semi-referial
regular segment. Jeff Probst is wrong about blank.
One of your favorite segments. Yes. Because Jeff saw how much we hated the three small
tribe format of the new era. He saw how much more fun it was with two tribes. And he said,
we're done with that. Let's go back to the bad way of doing it. Yeah, which was interesting because
he's like, we're going to go old school. Well, old school is not the three.
small tribes. Like that's much more of a recent thing. Have they done it in the past? They did it on my
season. They split us into three tribes. But it was much, I think, at a different portion of the game.
Yeah. It's not old school. That's like new school. Yeah. Yeah. It was like when he said that,
I was like, no, that's not old school. That's new era. What are you talking about? You know,
it's literally a year ago. Right. I was very excited when he started out with the, wouldn't it be
interesting if we had all 17 of you, like on one beach.
I was like, oh, this is such a pressure.
He was bluffing.
I know, but I wanted to believe it for just a second, just a second.
That's what we were going to get.
But no, no, we were not.
Thanks, yeah.
Yeah, yeah, and we knew it was coming.
We talked about it in our predictions, you know,
but it was still frustrating to have him throw it in our faces like this.
As Hoggzilla said on blue sky,
guy. The part that angers me is Jeff dunking on the fans, taunting them, then going and doing the
three tribe thing that we fans have all hated for years. It's such, I know better than you,
arrogance. And yeah, I 100% agree. He's been doing that a lot this season. Yeah. Well, yeah. Yeah. Yeah. No, and I do
think that I, okay, two different things, right? Like, I understand that they want to do a swap. I get it.
But I also feel like perhaps CBS needs to start being more aware of what's happening in the game and say,
you know what?
Maybe a swap right now isn't a good idea.
Like we can always mix it up later.
Maybe we do a swap at a later point in time.
I know that they like to say everything is structured and that they've got everything planned out and they know what they're doing.
But here you had an unexpected event, right?
You had someone quit, which means you now, instead of going six, six and six, six, six.
So you're automatically putting one group at a disadvantage.
And it's just through luck because they're literally just picking out of a bag what buff they're going to be wearing.
So perhaps there should have been a recalculation like saying, you know what?
Maybe we don't do it now because it's not going to fall evenly.
And that's something else that we're going to have to deal with.
And I know Jeff likes all of these things because, oh, it's unexpected.
You never know what's going to happen.
And I get that.
but things were really like getting fun, right?
Like people were forming little groups
and you had you had really big votes happening.
You had a lot of interesting things.
There was a 6-5 vote on the last tribal.
It was like, let's keep doing that for a bit
and then see what happens instead.
Or just do a swap with two instead of three.
Like we can go to two tribes.
We'll do a swap.
All of those things need to be considered.
Because I do think this is what you end up with
when it becomes a little predictable with the swap being what it was.
Yeah, I mean, I would rather they stick to the format.
I don't want them making changes on the fly because that raises the possibility or,
sorry, it doesn't necessarily raise the possibility.
It raises the ability of the conspiracy nuts to say, oh, they only did it because this person
was in danger.
And they, you know, I don't want that subjectivity in there.
I want them to follow their board and do it when they're supposed to do it.
And that's fair.
And I can understand that.
Yeah.
I just didn't want them to ever do this.
Right.
You know, plus we know that like next week, there are going to be two tribes going to
tribal council.
Right.
So if you, you know, there's a butterfly effect.
If you don't swap to three tribes now, well, when do you get that extra?
person knocked out.
Well, and that is, and all of those are very valid points.
And, and I understand the need for the structure, but I also feel like, again, it just negatively
impacts the game that everyone is building upon, right?
And that's the part that I think is very frustrating.
And it's like, again, and I've said it multiple times, like, let the players play.
Yes.
And I understand, again, this idea that, well, they'll still play just in a smaller group.
Yeah, but it's different.
It's different.
It's not as.
exciting. It's not as like unknown. There's not as many configurations that you can come up with.
And then when you do have the swap turn out the way that it did in this particular episode,
it does, it does really, I think, impact the ability to people to play the game that they were playing
and what they were building and creating. So, yeah. Yeah. I understand the infrastructure.
Yeah. To be clear, I'm not saying I wanted them to do this. I'm just saying they needed to plan better to
start with. Like they should have known things would be more interesting. They've been doing this
long enough. They should have known, let's keep it at two tribes longer. Okay. We don't need to swap to
this three tribe thing. So that's the part, you know, like, yeah, you didn't need to do this
in order to, you know, just to mix things up for the sake of mixing things up. There are other ways
to do things.
Yeah, for sure.
And, you know, if you needed to get rid of two people,
well, you know what, there have been times before where both try,
if you have two tribes, up, you're both going.
Right.
Mm-hmm.
Yeah.
So you could have done that too.
And yeah, you mentioned it.
As soon as the swap happened, the reasons we disliked it,
reared their ugly head.
Literally the moment, so I'm sitting here watching at home.
The moment.
we saw how the tribes were divided up a full 70 minutes before the votes were read,
I was like, Jenna is going if her tribe loses.
Just based on the tribe makeup.
You could check my blue sky posts to verify this.
You know, I'm so then he's got receipts, ladies and gentlemen.
He has receipts.
And then once they did lose, still a half hour before her torch was snuffed.
I again said, bye, Jenna.
Someone thought I spoiled it.
Someone wasn't paying attention.
And they're like, how are you spoiling this?
Why?
You know, it's like, no.
No, that's so funny.
It was a prediction.
I mean, it was dead on, but it was a prediction, you know.
Right.
And it should not be that easy to see what's coming.
Yeah.
Now, we'll, of course, discuss the reasons why it happened in a little while.
But even aside from that, the how it was going to happen with the tribe,
up of only five players was more than obvious.
Yeah. Agreed.
I didn't like any of it.
Yeah. Now, compare this to last week with a big tribe, a super solid alliance of 45% of the
players, but 45% is not 51% and they could not make it work.
Right. The math wasn't mathing on that one.
Right. There was opportunity for movement. It was opportunity for discussion.
you know, trying to figure out debating who the target should be.
Two people acting as a swing.
Right.
Two people were like, we really get to decide what's going to happen here.
Right.
We didn't know.
It was so much more fun than it was this.
Yeah.
Yeah.
I wholeheartedly agree with all of that.
Yeah.
Now, this does lead to another topic that doesn't have to do with Jeff, but is about the big
alliance.
because the way various people were talking about the so-called Vibe 5,
which I guess was their alliance name,
although Pat said she didn't even know that until after the game was over.
You know, they were taken down a peg when Pat was voted out last week,
but then people were talking about them in a way that made things seem so much worse
than we had been told previously.
Because, yeah, okay, when Kilby and Lewis,
talked about it later,
they were probably exaggerating
to their swap tribe because
we know Kilby had previously said
the best way to get in good with people is to talk
crap about others.
And he definitely piled it on here.
But even before the tribe swap
happened, we heard from Lewis
saying, I'm not going to do the accent.
They have been dictating since day one.
I can't wait to see the five crumble
to know how we felt.
Tinnon said, they're acting all pissed,
but you don't realize you hurt us too.
They're acting like they're the victims.
And we discussed last week
how the other six didn't want the vibe five controlling the tribe
or the game for them.
But we didn't realize there were some emotional components as well.
And really, we still don't because those comments
were just kind of plopped in there.
Like the part about Tanan saying that group hurt the others.
Yeah.
How did they hurt you?
We don't know.
Well, and I do, I, I am very curious about the, the Brady, Brody situation that's happening
because, like, Maggie said some things about Brady as well.
And he's more of the, the vocal component of that vibe, vibe, right?
And, and I just, I'm curious if there wasn't kind of, um, a wearing off kind of factor.
like Brady was acting a particular way
that might have been a little more like like Maggie said something
that was I don't remember exactly the the way she phrased it
but how upset he was and how and and but how he's been
I don't know bullying was a word that was used but it was it sounded very much
like like Brady has been a lot and then she didn't even want to
steamrolling what you say plowing through people or something yes and yes and so
and then she didn't even want to talk with him that night she was like
I'm just going to talk to you in the morning and so
So I feel like that probably was a very big emotional toll for someone who's, you know,
you're with this person 24-7, right?
And then if that person has other people that are like building him up and kind of supporting
that, I feel like that can also be very like tiring and can be a lot to have to deal with
because I don't know if you remember this, but we thought that Tanan was going to be like
very like lively and bubbly, right, based upon her pregame.
we were almost a little bit concerned that she, you know, depending on how she presents herself,
she might just be like a little too much. She has not been that way at all. And I'm very curious
if it wasn't because like there was this like Brady factor happening, right, where they were like,
oh, you know, he's like so much. I just can't. I can't be comfortable here. I can't just be myself.
Maggie too. Maggie has been a little more demure than I than I expected her to be. And so I am,
curious if that wasn't part of the like like that group was like their vibe like that
vibe by whatever they were calling themselves really did take over the the space that they were in
and made other people just feel uncomfortable because they couldn't necessarily be themselves
because that group I mean Devin too devon's very boisterous and was very was very kind of loud
and running around and screaming and things and so I'm wondering if that just wasn't what they were
kind of reflecting upon that like this is.
is just not a comfortable space for all of us to be in because of how those five might be acting.
It's the cool kids table, right? And I feel like if you weren't a cool kid in high school,
you know exactly how that feels, right? You know what that feeling can be. And I think that's
probably what we were seeing happen. Yeah. Yeah, I mean, hopefully we'll get some clarity later
when someone from the six gets voted out. You know, whenever that is, maybe if it's fairly soon,
we can find out what was happening with that vibe five.
You know,
and we also have to find out if what Lewis and Kilby said on their new tribe was based in truth,
or indeed just talking crap so they could show they weren't connected to their old tribe.
You know, things like Lewis saying it was like being in high school.
We were being undermined.
We were being bullied.
And Kilby saying they treated him like garbage.
I think they were exaggerating for effect.
but was it based in something?
We don't know.
Yeah.
Yeah.
No, I mean, I'm curious about it as well.
But I think it was probably based in something,
just based on what we did see,
what we did actually see.
Yeah.
I don't know.
But hey, we did get to see Kilby and Eric come together as allies.
Oh, gosh.
Can I really, like, I was almost embarrassed for them.
Like, this idea of like, don't be an obvious duo.
Like, don't let anybody.
know and Eric is like literally Gaga over Kilby and and was like bro hugging him every chance
he could and what did they name themselves?
I don't remember they should have named themselves the Y Blank Lost Alliance.
They were like it was like it was like love brothers or love bro.
I don't know there was like it, but it was like take it down about 10 notches because
everyone is going to know that.
And it was very obvious.
And even Kilby was like, you know, I like Eric.
But like he clearly really like wants to be my buddy and like wants to like work with me.
And it's becoming very, very obvious.
And it's just I was I was like really, okay, like this is too much.
This is just too much.
And I was feeling for your Kilby because I'm like Eric has got a both of them.
But it was more Eric than Kilby.
Like just take it easy.
You're fine.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
I mean, they have so much in common.
You know, and they talked about all those things, but we didn't see them talking about podcasts, you know, to see if they, you know, if they compared notes on on the fact that, oh, I don't know, maybe they both listen to ours, for example.
Maybe they do.
Now, listen, if you might be listening, Eric, you might be violating, you know, rule number two there, just a smitch, just a smidge.
Yeah, yeah, just a smidge.
what did they call themselves?
Now I'm mad that I've forgotten what their,
what their name was,
but they gave themselves a nickname.
Yeah, I don't know.
Like they should have called themselves like stepbrothers.
Like that would have been funny, right?
If they would have been like, we're going to call ourselves because it's like,
do we just become best friends?
Like that was what they were like.
You know, that's who they were out there.
It was like immediate like, oh my gosh,
everything with each other was just amazing.
But yes, they should have gone with stepbrothers.
I think that would have been good.
Yeah. Well, over at the other tribe, Kristen immediately showed her value by providing food for everyone.
You know, they'd been living at that camp for days and she was able to show them new fruits and vegetables they could eat that were right under their noses the whole time.
Now, is it going to actually help her stick around? Who knows?
I've mentioned before, I used to have a rule that said providing food wins allies.
but I tossed that like literally decades ago because it stopped being true despite what some players in the Aussie mold still think.
Yeah.
You could be a provider.
Yeah.
Oh, go ahead.
I'm so sorry.
You could be a provider, but your tribe will still throw you out if that's, you know, not what they're thinking about.
So.
I do, I do very much appreciate, though, that she didn't come across as trying too hard.
Like she was obviously in a very tough spot, but she was like, okay, I'm going to do what I need to do.
Like she had a plan how she was going to get there.
But it wasn't overly complicated and it wasn't too much.
It was like just enough.
So I'm feeling good about how she's inserting herself and trying to connect with people.
So maybe now that she's become a bit of a provider, it's giving her an opportunity to also like get to know people and an engagement.
graceyed herself with the group a little bit.
So I'm feeling good about where she's at right now.
Yeah, I mean, whether or not it works,
it's still a good idea to try it,
especially when you're in as bad a position as she seemed to be.
I think there will be other reasons to keep her.
I don't think it'll be the deciding factor.
Right.
But I did think it was funny when someone was like,
how do you know this?
And she's like, I studied, you know?
It was like, like it never occurred to them.
You know you're going to Fiji.
you could look up the local, you know, the local flora.
Right.
It is crazy because I will say that when, when I went out to Survivor,
I had no idea where we were going.
Like you, you are literally in the dark, at least back then.
And that was when they started going to Fiji.
Yeah.
So, you know, I didn't have a chance to really look anything up because I had no idea
where I was going to be.
They did provide a little bit of a manual, if you will, that was like,
oh, don't eat this fish because you're going to die.
don't eat that plant because it's the same.
One time I ate a fish that looked very similar to the one that I was like,
I might die, but I was very hungry.
And so it was like, well, we'll see what happens.
We're going to take a chance here.
But there was a book, at least, that gave us some indication of what we could
and could not eat.
But yes, I think it is a very fair and valid point to make that you can look things up.
Considering people are now making puzzles and practicing puzzles,
which drives me insane.
Yeah, look up what you can eat
because that's really important
that you have food.
So that's okay.
We know the book still exists
because that's where they saw the secret,
you know, after it.
Yes.
Yes.
That's true.
That is true.
At least, you know,
they may not have what you can eat,
but at least they show you what eats you.
Yeah.
Yes, those damn secrets.
All right.
Do you have anything or anyone else
you want to talk about
before we get to Jenna
and the.
rules. I just want to say I love Carter. I'm so happy I picked him this way. Whatever I mean,
come on. Carter wants to go after Kristen. So I don't. Well, but here's the thing. The way in which he
talks about going after her with the pig analogy was really hysterical. I mean, you put the foo
on him. I don't know what the foo is, but I'm very curious. I don't know, but he apparently thinks you
can tan a pig. And I don't think you can do that. Well, we need to ask Carter all of these things.
I mean, I grew up on a farm.
We didn't have, we had some pigs, but we didn't like put the foo-foo on them, whatever that means.
They were just, you know, they were just pot-bellied pigs and they were super duper cute.
But I'm fascinated.
I would love to know what this means.
So yes, I just very much appreciate Carter.
He's just very entertaining.
That's about it.
Yeah, there were, of course, other things going on.
And I'll be posting some of it already have posted some of it on my TikTok and YouTube at David Bloomberg TV.
But we also want to mention.
before we get to the rules, that they are available in a shorter and much more colorful version in poster form.
Go to rob has a website.com slash YXLast feed, scroll down to the poster, click on it, order it, buy it, get it.
Love it.
Put it up somewhere, take a picture of it, send it to us, whatever you want to do.
Send it to a friend, all of these things.
Yeah.
Great plan.
In addition, you can also, of course, get the poster on a T-shirt.
if you scroll down and you can get the checklist on a t-shirt if you keep scrolling.
So again, all of this can be found at rob has a website.com slash y-X lost feed and just, you know,
click away to your heart's content.
Excellent.
Great plan.
Love that.

Well, despite what some people said as soon as Jenna was voted out of Survivor 51,
as I mentioned, Jenna herself came forward and said she was not swap screwed.
but yes, the result was predictable.
How could it be one and not the other?
What could Jenna have done differently and when did she need to do it?
Plus, why the heck did Devin have such a weird obsession with her?
Let's get into all of this because at RHAP, we know Survivor and we know why Jenna lost.
Now, we're going to do something a little different this week and start with the fourth rule,
which tells players not to let their emotions control them.
And the main reason for this is that a lot of what will just,
discussed later in places like rules one and five stem from what happened to Jenna in relation to
rule four. And, you know, it just gets awkward if we start saying, well, we'll get to it.
We'll get to it. We'll get to it. No, let's just get to it right off the bat. Yeah, it's okay when
when Bloomberg was the jimba head. That's right. And, you know, it's simply that Jenna got caught up
in her emotions right at the start of the game. It wasn't immediately.
obvious to us what was happening, but she described it to Rob in her RJP interview as an emotional
breakdown on day one. And it caused her to withdraw from, or at least not open up to the other
players a bit, both on the beach initially and then at her initial tribe. She would later explain
that she, you know, we all now now, she had recently divorced and this was affecting her more
than she expected.
As she said in interviews, she thought she was past all this and the important people in
her life knew, but being back on Survivor was kind of like the formal announcement to
the whole world.
And I think that just hit her more than she was ever expecting.
Yeah, there's a lot of processing that you do before you go out with different components
of yourself in your life.
And what do I care for the entire world to learn about me on, you know, national
television and whether or not it's going to negatively impact me personally when I come home.
These are very real conversations that you have to have with yourself, with your family,
to decide, like, is this worth it?
Because we have seen people's lives really get destroyed by reality TV, unfortunately,
because things happen and things come out.
And there's different responses.
And so I really feel for her because these were conversations like I had with my family,
my kids and my husband before I went out like how is this going to affect all of these components
of ourselves and for her to like realize well she's living what's supposed to be her dream of
being on this show and then oh I'm making this announcement to the world really and you and I and I can
understand why that had a negative impact on her but unfortunately it read wrong to the people
she was with so it you know it certainly did not help her at all in any way she
shape or form. Like perhaps if she had just come clean immediately with everyone on her tribe and say,
listen, this is what's going on because you're probably noticing or wondering, but she didn't want to.
And this is where she finds herself. Yeah. I mean, we've, of course, heard of survivor players having
emotional breakdowns they didn't expect. But usually those come at least a few days in when the lack
of sleep and food and the like takes their toll. Jenna was just hit by it right out of the gate. And
you know, it would be easy to sit here and say, well, she should have planned for that and done more to reel it in.
But from what she said in her mind, till that point, it was behind her.
Yeah.
Sometimes you just don't know how things will hit you differently in a new situation.
She's been wanting to play Survivor forever.
So if I had to guess, I suspect the emotions of finally got getting to do that brought with it the surge of those other emotions as well.
With that said, and, you know, saying that we look at this from a game perspective,
it was difficult, but she needed to find a way to compartmentalize things and put those emotions away
while she reached out to make new bonds.
I mean, she could have even tried to use those emotions to connect to people,
like talking about how this was an adventure to start her new post-divorce life.
it might have even made people see her as being there for more personal reasons.
And so they wouldn't have been worried about her being a strategic threat, things like that.
Yeah.
And that's why you really have to have those conversations with yourself and plan for everything.
Because you, again, do not know how you're going to respond to things.
You do not know what you're going to be impacted by.
And so, unfortunately, when you are hit with something that might be
unexpected, you also have to be able to think on your feet and you've got to think quickly.
But again, there's a lot of things that are kind of working against you because, yes,
you're out on an island. It's hot. It's rainy. You're not eating. You're not sleeping. But you did
indicate and it's true. I mean, this happened to her like almost immediately. And so I do wonder if it
really just was like too much, too quick, too fast. Like all of a sudden everything hit her all at once
because you are like living your dream, but you're also like living one of the more awful.
parts of your life, but it's coming out on national television. And so it's like, how do you,
how do you put those two things together and make it make sense? And in that moment, when your brain is
kind of all over the place, because yeah, you're also playing a game for a million dollars,
I think it can be really, really scary and hard to process. And unfortunately, it made her
appear like she was sneaky and can I be in hiding something, which she kind of was hiding something,
but it wasn't getting related at all. Right. Right. Right. So yeah.
So, yeah, this leads us back to Rule 1, which is, of course, to scheme and plot.
Because of the situation that we just discussed, Jenna wasn't doing much of it in the very
beginning until Pat kind of kicked her into gear by letting her know that people like Devin
and Jelly were gunning for her.
And I know a lot of people tend to focus on what Jenna could or couldn't have done
once she got to the new swap tribe.
Like lots of people were asking her in interviews,
what could you have done differently when you got there?
But Jenna herself understands it's not that simple
and she talked about it in interviews.
Because when she was asked about that,
for example, she told Mike Bloom,
I'm never going to be someone who says that you get swap screwed,
even if that's somewhat true.
As a player of the game, you do everything you can.
you have to deal with bad hands.
Sometimes you can't get out of it,
but you have to deal with bad hands.
But I'm like, I should have been on that mutiny.
I should have given myself some leverage.
I should have made an idol.
I should have done something.
And then she added to Rob,
really good players figure out how to make their bad hands work.
So again, in other words, as I mentioned earlier,
Jenna is a woman after my own heart
because those were the same things I say
whenever I hear, oh, they were swap screwed.
It is a rare occasion when there was truly nothing the person could have done at some point leading up to or in the swap.
You're muted.
Thank you.
That's what makes Survivor such a fantastic game because it isn't about one moment individually.
It certainly can have a huge impact on someone's game, that one moment.
but there are all of those things that lead up to it.
You know, I picked a rock not because in that moment,
I was like, this is a great idea.
I was like, well, looking at everything that has already transpired
and happened in my game,
this is the best decision for me right now.
It's terrible and I hate it,
but I know where the cards are going to fall
if I flip right now and how this is going to look,
and I'm never going to win.
And so those are the types of conversations you have with yourself
with every part of your game because it really is,
like it really is almost like a house of cards, right?
you're continuing to build it and it's become a little topsy-turvy because you're like,
oh gosh, you know, this is a lot of things that I'm putting together.
But you have to be mindful of everything that has happened before you've gotten to this moment because,
yeah, sometimes somebody actually said it.
I think it was Ori.
He said, you know, this vote might matter 12 days from now.
Yeah.
And that is absolutely true.
This is why Survivor is so fascinating because it really is not about one.
thing. It is about a ripple effect and how is this going to affect that and how is this person
going to affect that person? So yeah, I mean, it's, I think that she was, she was spot on with
talking about what she should have done earlier because then she wouldn't have found herself
in the situation because really she was in the majority. There was three from her tribe
on a group of five. Simple math right there means she should have been fine. Yeah, in theory,
right. If you, in theory, in theory, if you're just looking at the numbers, but she didn't have the
she needed with the people that were part of those numbers with her.
Weren't you swapped into a minority situation?
I was.
I was.
And you survived.
I did.
I did.
It is weird, right?
Yes.
I knew immediately who I needed to, like, grab onto, and that was Adam.
And I made Ken and Adam make nice because Ken and Adam did not get along.
So there was a whole, there was a lot of work involved there.
But yes.
And it ended up working out until it didn't.
Until it didn't.
Yeah.
We won't talk about that part.
Yeah.
Yeah.
And, you know, there were things that Jenna could have done at the start, which again,
goes back to the reason I'm very happy to see her saying outright, she wasn't swap screwed.
So, but, I mean, she didn't realize it at the time, looking back,
but there were some things that she should have been able to say looking forward.
So let me quote from part of this rule of rule one.
From the very beginning, you have to start making alliances and cementing relationships.
And I do mean the very beginning.
Yes, it can be difficult to know whom you can trust after just a couple days.
But either you do it or you're gone.
Early on, you should make use of whatever relationships present themselves.
Find any way to connect with people you've just met.
You're both cops or firemen or one of each.
You're from the same state?
Great.
Find a way to bond over that.
And indeed, in this very season,
and we saw one alliance start right away on the beach and a few other relationships as well.
Heck, even quitter Rob and Eric at least seem to find commonality at first over being from
Rhode Island like the rule says, the same state. It can do it.
Yeah. No, I agree. If there's anything that's going to connect you with someone, yeah,
as long as I'm not lying about what they do for a living. Yeah, well, you know, but she didn't do that.
make those early bonds.
And in fact, when Rob Sesternerino asked her what she could have done, she listed some
things, including a line I quoted part of earlier, she said, I could have not had an emotional
breakdown on day one and made better relationships on the beach.
She referred right to that because that is key, making those relationships right off the bat.
Yeah.
And, you know, we talked about it a little bit already, but the beach is where the helicopter.
alliance formed. And that alliance is what truly doomed her. She came into the swap thinking she was
the swing vote. She could go after her fellow Tokas, Devin and Jelly, or she could flip to Ori and
Alexis. That was the information she was working with. So when Jenna honestly told her about Devin
saying so many bad things about her, but Ory was telling her, no, Devin and Jelly hadn't said your
name at all as she discussed in her interviews.
She concluded, Alexis must be overplaying and trying to con me.
And again, based on the information she had, that made sense.
The problem was she was looking at things through a lens that was partially blocked,
and she had no way of knowing that.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Agreed.
So now, I mentioned a few minutes.
ago that she should have made better relationships right off the bat.
And, you know, as she said herself, someone might say, well, there's no way to know if such a
person would have been on their swap tribe.
And that is true.
But if she had made those relationships, we would have had a butterfly effect situation.
Even when we saw them introducing themselves, not on the beach, but in the initial tribe,
the first few moments of that initial tribe,
they were in the water and they were going around,
hi, my name is this, here's what I do.
Jenna just didn't have much to say,
which immediately seemed odd to the others.
Yes.
If she had been able to let go in that moment,
make better relationships from the start,
not just on the beach,
but in her initial tribe,
maybe Devin and others wouldn't have gotten so suspicious of her,
which would have meant that,
that he wouldn't have then gotten so freaking obsessed with her.
Yes.
I mean,
it was so immediate that he was like,
what's up with this Jenna girl and just,
just trash talking her to anyone who would listen.
And I,
it was,
it was very aggressive.
It was a lot.
It was a lot.
So,
yeah,
I mean,
she certainly had an impact on,
on Devin and,
and how he felt about her.
And maybe he really was thinking,
well,
if she's,
if she's willing to lie to us about,
like what she does for a living, then she'll lie to us about anything.
And he just turned it into much more than it actually was.
But yes, he really did become obsessed with her.
It was a little, it's a lot.
It's a lot, yes.
And so if she had made, you know, been open and made those relationships,
then even if she ended up with the exact same people on her swap tribe,
she might not have been Devin's sworn enemy,
which would have made him and jelly much more likely to go with her and against Alexis.
He named the chicken after her, for God's sakes.
Yeah.
That's a lot.
Yes.
Yes.
It's a very lot.
Very lot.
Yeah.
Now, I already mentioned a quote from Jenna about other things that she could have tried strategically
to get her out of this spot.
Making a fake idol,
trying to be the one
who went to the other tribe
instead of Devin going.
Things like that.
You just never know
what will be that one thing
that changes your fate.
Like you talked about,
or he's saying this will reverberate
12 days from now.
Right.
Mm-hmm.
Which is interesting
that they included it.
Yes.
Yes, it is.
Mm-hmm.
Now, since she hadn't done
those things previously,
once she got to this swap,
yeah, she was in big trouble.
It's like I said earlier
when we were discussing the three tribes setup.
I knew she was toast
if she didn't win immunity
or if the tribe didn't win immunity
from the moment that tribe was picked
and standing there on the beach.
Jenna lobbied hard for herself
and against Alexis.
In her mind,
staying tribe strong was better
for all of their games.
The problem was she didn't.
didn't know about the Helicopter Alliance.
So it wasn't better for all of their games because those two wanted to keep Ori happy as
well and he didn't want Alexis gone.
Now on the flip side, Alexis didn't have the ability to bring Jenna over to vote out
Devon or Jelly because Ori wasn't going to turn on them.
So even if she'd given her shoes to Alexis, it would not have changed the outcome one bit.
Yeah, and correct me if I'm wrong, but Alexis has no idea about the helicopter alliance either.
Nope. Nope.
So they've done.
So you're not wrong.
I'm not wrong.
So they've done a very good job at keeping that under wraps.
So good job to Ori for not giving her that information because it's not necessary that
she has it because it's beneficial to him and not to her.
Yeah.
Right.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah, or he likes his multiple options here, I think.
Yes.
Mm-hmm.
Now, I've also seen some people saying, well, Alexis warned Jenna about Devin and Jelly.
Okay.
But so what?
It's not like there was anything more she could have done at that point because of the helicopter alliance we were just talking about.
Three people in a tribe that small has full control of the vote.
this is one major reason we don't like tribes this small.
Right.
You know, we talked about it beforehand.
This is why we cheered the bigger tribe being so much more fun last week.
Yes.
Those three were locked in.
There wasn't a thing Jenna could do about it at that point.
She was out-schemed not only by her tribe mates Devon and Jelly,
but by the overall helicopter alliance that came together so quickly
while she was still feeling withdrawn at the start of the game.
Yes.
Yeah.
And that really did formulate like super fast.
And I think it's interesting because of the way in which that happened, right?
Because it's not like they all ended up on the same tribe together.
That was everyone's on the same beach together.
And they utilize that moment to create an alliance that then, bye.
Like now we're going over here.
You're going over there.
But they've managed to still like keep that together.
So I appreciate.
the fact that Survivor did something a little bit different
and gave people the opportunity
to create a bond with other people
before they necessarily broke them into tribes.
But yes, it certainly had a huge impact
on this part of the game
because of how the swap ended up for sure.
Yeah, yeah.

So looking back to when Jenna did have opportunities to make moves, she did a great job.
It looked like she was a goner in that first tribal council until Pat alerted her to the situation.
And then Jenna went to work.
First by getting that key piece of information from Alia mentioning Brady's name.
and then defending herself when it came to the job allegations.
You know, we saw just a small part of it, according to what Jenna said.
As she told Mike Bloom, I go to everyone.
And I'm like, I heard this rumor.
I'm not a wedding photographer.
I'm literally talking to everyone.
And I'm doing the whole ISO aperture shutter speed thing.
And I'm doing it to everyone on the beach.
So it was just constant conversation all day long.
And I'm sure you know what all those things.
as a fellow photographer who played Survivor.
Listen, I might actually know what they all are
because I did actually do photography.
It just didn't do that for a living.
So, yeah, some of it I might know.
But yes.
I think you're the cause here.
I think you're the cross.
I think Devin watched your season.
I had another butterfly effect.
Oh, my God.
Just before.
coming out there.
And so he sees a photographer and he's like,
aha,
she's trying to be Jessica Lewis.
That's what it was.
Yeah.
And I have to get rid of her because she's such a big threat, clearly.
Oh, yes,
because everyone mentions Jessica Lewis
and all of their pregame press too.
So they,
yeah, it was all about me being a photographer for sure.
Yes.
It's almost like the sales,
remember when being a salesperson was like,
the most like concerning career you could have for a time on Survivor.
It was like, oh, he's a salesperson.
He's got to go.
You know, it's like, yeah.
So now it's photographer.
We've switched.
It's fake photographer.
Very scary stuff, yes.
Those weddings, you know, damn.
It's cutthroat.
Yeah.
Wedding photographers.
It was, I was going to say kind of, but really silly.
for Devin and others to focus on the whole suspicion of lying about her job to begin with.
But okay, fine.
For the first vote, when you barely know someone, if they're already lying to you, then yeah, I get it.
But after that person has proven to the majority that they are who they say they are and they make better bonds with them, that should have gone away.
But for Devin and Jelly, it never did.
It just like got stuck in Devon's head.
And no matter what the facts on the ground were, it would not leave his brain.
Yeah.
And I really wonder if it wasn't like a, well, I've kind of locked myself into this story.
Because he went to the other tribe and he told them all how Jenna was lying.
I mean, he he did everything he could to destroy her image and her name.
with the other group.
And so it's like, well, now I've got to stick to it because this is what I've created.
It seems, it does seem very odd.
I'm very curious why this happened.
Extremely odd.
And, you know, I was looking forward to Jenna's interview responses about it.
And unfortunately, well, I'm not going to say, you know, unfortunately for us, you know,
who want to know, she just said, look, I've talked to Devin since then.
We get, you know, I really like him outside the game.
Inside the game is a different thing.
And that's all she said.
So we still don't know why he was obsessed with her.
I don't know.
It's weird.
It's extremely weird.
It's, yeah.
Yeah.
But what an interesting concept if he did it simply because he was like, you know what?
I'm just going to go in there and pick one person and destroy them immediately and just see what I can do.
wouldn't they be fascinating if that was just what it comes out?
He was like, yeah, we were at Ponderosa and I don't know, she took the last piece of cake.
So I decided, that's her.
I'm just going after her.
I don't know.
Maybe that's what it was.
Maybe that was the plan.
It's possible, I suppose, but man, what horrible gameplay if that's what he was doing.
Yeah.
You know, we'll find out how it turns out.
But, yeah, getting that dedicated to destroying someone else's game.
Yeah.
not smart you know and he posted something on social media where he had like a little checkbox
and one of them was getting revenge for alia and pat you didn't owe alia and pat anything you
should not be playing to get revenge now it's social media he's probably making a joke out of it
but if that was in his mind at all poor gameplay well but maybe that's what it is because
yeah what else is there i don't
Maybe he's maybe he just really doesn't like wedding photographers, period.
I,
but he didn't think she was one.
Maybe,
maybe the cover.
He was like,
she just,
she can't be one because I actually don't dislike her.
So she must be lying because I hate wedding photographers.
I don't know.
I'm trying to come up with some creative work around here.
Like what was going on?
She looked like some,
she looked like some girl that had,
you know,
mistreated him in high school or something.
Maybe that's it.
Yes.
She reminded him of someone.
Yeah.
Well, maybe when he gets voted out, we'll find out.
Maybe.
Or he'll just say, nope, I talked to her about it and we're fine now.
Look at the same thing.
Yeah.
Well, it'll be fascinating.
All right.
Well, the second rule says not to scheme and plot too much and to keep your scheming secret.
And it does seem like Jenna got tagged with this label early on as part of the situation
where she was withdrawn and thought to be lying about her job.
I'm not sure how being withdrawn equates to play.
playing too hard as that would seem to be the opposite.
But that's the way people described it.
Again, going back to what you said,
maybe they thought because she was lying about her job,
that she'd lie about anything,
it's still weird because she clearly wasn't playing hard enough
at this point in the game.
So why would you think she was playing too hard?
Yeah, well, and it is,
what's interesting too is you have an individual who doesn't appear to be playing too hard because
she's withdrawn as you indicated but then she's forced to have to play hard to correct the narrative
that's been created about her which then i'm wondering if that kind of snowballed and to like see
see what she's doing how hard she's playing because we know she's lying and she's trying to like
fix you know what we've what we've figured out about her it's it is a
very interesting concept of what world was created for Janet to have to respond to
based upon the belief that people had that she was somehow scheming too much even though
she wasn't scheming at all. Yeah. Yeah, I don't get it. I still don't get it. I've had a few
people when I posted a video about what is he so obsessed over. I've had a few people comment like,
well of course he was against her she you know she took out a member of his alliance at the last vote
yeah because he went after her from the minute that she was there yeah they run this around
yeah yeah you can't blame this on her when he's the one who literally was saying in tribal council
i don't care what everyone else is doing i am voting against jena you know it's like how is this her fault
she he's the one who made them ops she didn't oh look at you yeah dropping the ops ops so all right well
the third rule tells players to be flexible so how do you think jenna did or attempted to do here
well i think she attempted to be very flexible because she kind of had to be right where she's
presented with this information that devon has it out for her thinks that she's launching
to everybody about what she does for a living.
And so she really did have to respond and react to what was going on around her.
But even in her attempt to be flexible and to continue to work with people who had shown that they didn't trust her,
shown that they voted for her, she was still willing to say, you know what, let's put that past us.
We're the majority.
Let's figure out how we can work together.
She had a lot of conversations with them.
So she really was attempting to be flexible and game, you know, trying to just focus on game.
Let's put the rest of it aside.
But I do think that she just found herself continuously kind of like hitting against a wall because there was Devin.
And it was like, oh, shucks, there's not much I can do.
And she even tried to work with Ori and she tried to work with Alexis.
So she was trying to keep all of her options open.
But as we've already discussed, she was in such a bad way at the store.
I think it really caused an inability for her to actually be as flexible as she wanted to be
because there was this like aura around Jenna and people not thinking that they can necessarily
trust her. So yeah, unfortunately it didn't work. Yeah, I agree with everything you said. And I also
think that she showed flexibility earlier. You know, despite Pat having helped her in the first vote,
she saw what was happening with Pat and the rest of the Vibe 5 and knew she couldn't count on her again
and needed to work with her own people, which was exactly what she did.
She wasn't acting like, well, I'm indebted to you and now I'm going to have to, you know,
roll with my whole game for you or something like that.
No, she saw what was happening as Pat admitted last week that she had pulled back.
So, okay, you pull back.
Bye-bye.
Right.
Yeah, absolutely.
All right. Well, we already talked about the fourth rule so we can go to the fifth, which reminds players they need to pretend to be nice and play the social game.
Once again, we can look back to Rule 4 to see how it impacted her here because she was feeling all of her emotions.
And that was affecting her ability to be social.
O'Leah told Mike Bloom in her exit interview, I think she was closed off in those days.
you kind of didn't really know where she was.
She wasn't really opening up, at least to me, strategy-wise or hyper-emotional-wise.
Mm-hmm.
Yeah.
And I think if you are, like, again, as you indicated, caught up in your emotions,
it is going to make it very difficult for you to, like, pretend to be nice if you're
feeling a particular way inside, you know?
And that just seemed to be coming through so much so that we even saw it as, as viewers,
when, as you indicated, they were.
all sitting in the water introducing themselves.
And it was like she just didn't seem comfortable.
Like something just didn't seem right in the moment for her.
So yeah, I mean, it is a very complicated thing to do when you feel not so great in that
moment.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
And again, this goes back to some of the reasons people were worried about her.
If someone on the tribe is not socializing with you and they aren't.
talking strategy with you, the natural assumption, which we talk about, you know, fairly often,
is they don't want to work with you, which makes them a potential danger.
So maybe that was Devin's issue.
I, yeah, but again, it didn't change even after she changed.
So.
Yeah.
I can see how she found herself in trouble quickly in her original tribe.
Mm-hmm.
But even Alia noted in the continuation of that Mike Bloom interview.
view that after the challenge where where Jenna did well at the puzzle, people started taking
another look at her and they weren't so down.
And then of course, when she got the jolt of reality from Pat and started playing hard,
she also socialized more.
It's clear that while we didn't see the full social situation on the tribe, something was happening
where the vibe five was making everyone else feel like outsiders.
We talked about this earlier.
And Jenna was among them.
So even if she was good with the people who flipped the vote against Pat, that still didn't include Devin and Jelly.
And even though she told Dalton Ross that she had heart-to-heart talks with Devin, such as, quote, moments where I'm crying about my divorce and sharing poems with him, which was also one reason, you know, she didn't necessarily feel like she was DOA at the time.
the swap tribe with him. But through it all, he remains steadfast in his obsession with getting her
out no matter what. So even as other people change their views on her, he refused to. Right. Yeah. And he has
such a personality and he has such a group, which she unfortunately does not have and their safety
in numbers. And so if you know that you have people behind you, there might just be that,
well, that's what Devin wants. And so that will support, we'll support the way Devin feels.
Yeah. Well, the sixth rule warns against being too much of a threat. And I know Devin saw Jenna
as someone he had to get out for reasons. But there was, or was there actually caused for him to
have been worried about her as a threat.
Well, you know, it was interesting.
Ori, I think it was again.
Ori keeps dropping these little nuggets.
And I thought maybe it meant something when he said it.
But he said something in that, like in one of the first tribal counts,
like, we don't get rid of this person now.
They're going to be sitting in the final three.
And he was talking about Jenna.
And I thought.
I thought Devin was the one who said that.
Maybe I'm wrong.
I thought he, I thought Devin was the one who said if we don't get rid of her house.
Yeah, I thought it was Ori.
But, but maybe it was.
I thought it was ori, but you could, you could, you could be right.
You could certainly be right.
We, you know, that's happened before.
But needless to say, somebody said it.
Yes.
Which made me go, oh, well, isn't that an interesting little nugget of information?
Are, is she going to be in the final three?
And so, you know, maybe there was something that they saw about her that they were like,
ooh, she's got to go.
Because again, it is this idea.
and we've talked about this a lot.
When there's a narrative created about somebody,
it can gain momentum, even if it's not true.
And we've seen this on previous season.
Oh, yeah.
Somebody says something about someone,
and it's the ripple effect, and then it snowballs,
and it's the game of telephone and five things get added.
And all of a sudden, like, Jenna is the most scary player possible,
and she cannot stay on this island because she will beat us all.
And it takes on a life of its own.
And in Survivor, you're looking for any reason to vote people out and you don't want you to be that person.
So you're like, yes, I'm going to grab on to that because this has something.
There's momentum here.
So anything that's going to keep it off of me and it's going to be on somebody else, great, I'm in full support.
And so it's almost like she was like a victim to just this narrative that was created.
and then it just kind of took over.
And she was like, I'm just a wedding photographer.
What are we doing?
You know, we're going to find out she's really like Jason Bourne, right?
Where all of a sudden you're like, whoa, wait a second.
Like she's like some super undercover agent who does like all of these crazy things.
And we'll find that out later.
That was actually Jenna.
It turns out what happened was that she hit quitter rob with a poison dart in his foot.
and and that was what really happened there.
You know, she had one of those like, like one of the, you know,
like the Russians have these umbrella guns, you know, in the spy movies.
You know, she, she had some special weapon that she shot him.
And that's what happened.
That's what did it.
That's what did it.
See?
And Devin was on to her.
He's like, I see.
I see you're sharpening in a darts.
I know what's going on.
Nobody else sees it.
I mean, Jason Boren, like, killed someone with the pen.
for God's sakes.
I'm not saying that Jenna would do that,
but,
you know,
it's something to think about.
If she's never know.
That much of a threat,
you got to watch out for those secret wedding photographers.
It's the real reason that she wouldn't have,
she wouldn't give up her shoes because they were the type where you hit them a certain
way and a blade,
a poison.
Oh,
that's a weapon.
Yeah.
Yeah,
I can't,
yeah,
I can't get rid of these.
See,
we have created a new narrative about Jim right now in this podcast.
and we'll see if it gains traction.
Jenna,
007.
Devin will be like,
I told you so.
Yeah.
Everyone thought it was wrong.
They saw it too.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
So clearly,
obviously,
you know,
Jenna and Devin
had been on opposite sides,
getting back to,
you know,
more reality in the threats here.
And yes,
no,
you know,
she had been,
part of the vote against Pat.
So it was reasonable for Devin and Jelly to assume that she was against them as well.
But that was then.
This is now who was more of a threat to them at that point?
Right.
Jenna, who they might be able to win back or Alexis, a completely unknown quality.
They obviously made their choice.
But of course, even if Jenna was a threat to them, again, she was one of their own making.
I mean, it doesn't change anything in terms of how to deal with it.
The origin story doesn't matter.
But I just want to point that out again.
They caused this divide.
She did not.
Yes.
Right.
But it also is interesting that Ori wanted Alexis to stay because he had been working with Alexis.
So it is also this idea of, well, we want to support Ori and what he wants.
And Devin just can't stand Jenna for.
whatever reason he can't stand Jenna for. So it's like, okay, well, we're going to keep them both happy.
So we'll, we'll deal with Alexis later. We can deal with Jenna now. I can't wait to see what Devin
is going to do when we're introduced to the next episode because Jenna's gone. And is he going
to pick a new target or is he just going to celebrate dance around a fire because he managed to
take out Jenna? Like, it's, it's, uh, it's rather, it's rather fascinating.
Yeah, yeah.
All right, well, Rule 7 covers idols and advantages in game mechanics.
And Jenna didn't have any.
And when I say any, I mean even her shot in the dark because she already played that.
I guess we could look back and say, well, she didn't need it when she played it in the first tribal council.
So it could have come in handy this time.
But I can't criticize her for playing it when she did because that was an incredibly risky situation.
Oh, yeah.
Well, and at least she knew enough that she.
needed to play it, right? So we've got to give her props for that. And the fact that she had to share
with Alexis when she was like, well, would you give me your shot in the dark? She's like, I don't have it.
I'm playing in the first. Like, I already did that. That's gone. Yeah. So, yeah.
Yes. And then it went to shoes. And it was just like shoes. I know. Shoes are important.
Yeah. Well, they have two pairs now. So. Yeah. Listen, I'm going to, you know, don't.
don't set me off.
I'm going to go on the tangent
with how much more clothes they all have.
Oh, yeah.
Little insane, just going to say.
They pack better.
You only have one pair of pants, apparently.
Apparently, yes.
And it's still out there floating.
All right, well, Appendix A discusses players
keeping their end goals in mind when voting.
And we talk about voting out the weak,
then the strong, then the weak, then the strong.
And this is another situation where it's,
it's really all about the first part, players and their end goals.
The problem is we don't really know what Devin's end goal is.
We know that his starting goal was to vote out Jenna.
And he never got that out of his head.
Again, why?
Why was he so obsessed?
No idea.
And Jenna, like I said, she wasn't going to, you know, talk about that in her interviews.
So, okay, but I still want to know.
Come on, come on.
I want to know what the hell pissed him off so much about her.
So that's what should matter here, right?
Yes, David Bloomberg wants to know, period.
That's it.
Come on.
We need, yeah, we need to let him, let him know what happened.
Jenna, if you're listening, just send me a message.
My DMs are open.
Ooh, DMM, yeah.
Yes.
for that.
Now, Devin said things that didn't even make sense when he was talking about her on the show.
Like he said they had an on again, off again relationship.
We never saw the on again part at all, ever.
Right.
He claimed that he was happy to be rid of the toxicity.
We never saw anything remotely like toxicity from her while he, as you pointed out, was naming the chicken they slaughtered after her.
Yeah, that's very aggressive.
That's toxic.
Yeah.
That's toxicity.
But, I mean, the whole situation is weird.
What was he seeing that there was toxicity coming from her?
as I thought about and several other people posted.
Devin, the call is coming from inside the house.
That's good.
I like that.
That's good.
You know, I don't, again, that's what makes this obsession so weird
is he's ascribing things to her that I don't think ever happened.
Yeah.
Yeah.
It is very, it is very strange.
And I feel like I would, I would.
be a little upset if I came to find out that he named the slaughtered chicken after me.
I think it troubled me a bit.
Yeah.
And they'd be a little bit troubled.
Also, on that note, we don't need to watch them slaughtering the chicken.
Yeah.
So can we not do that next time, please?
Like, it's unnecessary.
No, we don't need to see the literal blood on their hands.
You know, we really don't.
Yeah.
We get it.
There was a chicken.
Now it's food.
Yeah.
Right.
Right.
That's all we need.
That's all we need.
Mm-hmm.
Yeah.
Well, anyway, getting back to, you know, shaking off that image and getting back to Devin,
I have seen a few people making excuses for him.
And you brought this up, not as an excuse, but, you know, just brought this up earlier.
Like, well, he needed to target.
And, of course, he was going, you know, to go for her or something like that.
But again, this fails to explain his behavior.
from the first episode and continuing to now and the tunnel vision and the comments,
even in confessional, none of that is explained by any strategic reason.
Right.
Yeah.
I mean, he just got fixated on her for some reason.
And I, again, not only am I curious to see how he's going to react that now that he's
voted her out, is he going to fixate on somebody else?
I guess when you're playing Survivor,
that's not a bad thing to necessarily do
because you can feel some sense of accomplishment
because you got the person voted out
that you want to vote out.
But usually there's more of a reason for the tunnel vision
and it's not just, oh, I thought she was lying about her job
and come to find out, I don't think she is anymore.
But he, yes, it was, yeah, the toxicity, all of that.
We didn't see any of it.
Again, I know we don't see everything.
But I also feel like if it really was genuinely an issue,
we would have heard more people talking about it and not just Devin's like little inner circle referencing it, right?
And they would have shown it to give us reasons why Devin was acting this way.
Right.
Yeah.
You know, instead, it basically makes everyone cringe at Devin.
Mm-hmm.
You know, I mean, I know there are people who like him.
I liked him other than this weird fascination he had.
But it's, yeah, just showing him saying these things without anything to back it up makes him look delulu.
Yeah.
It's questionable for sure.
Yeah.
Now, as for the others, since we're still in this appendix A, it obviously made sense for Alexis to vote this way.
Lori too, since he's closer to Alexis and it keeps her around as another possible ally.
We talked about that earlier.
So with the information that we have, I would say everyone in the tribe did vote the correct way.
We, again, just don't know why Devin was like that.
But they all voted the correct way with this in mind, I guess, is a way to say it.
Yeah.

All right. Well, with that, it is about time to wrap things up for Jenna. So what are your final thoughts on her?
When we were first introduced to Jenna, I had concerns for her for reasons that were not centered on her wedding photography.
I thought her pant choice was interesting. We did discuss a lot of the pants that people chose to wear this season.
But I did think her entire outfit was an interesting choice. A denim top, not a great.
going to do when you're going to be in the water. But regardless, I thought that Jenna was going to be
too much when she was finally like brought with her tribe. She was very excited about playing Survivor,
so excited that she had it in her contracts for her wedding photography, which I think is really
funny that that was what her demise stemmed from, right? We're like, she was so interested in Survivor
and so wanting to play the game that there's a clause. If she gets on too bad, so sad I'm not
responsible for your wedding. Very smart move, by the way. But also, the fact that that then became
the focal point for Jenna was like, really? It's about wedding photography? I mean, come on.
So fascinating existence for Jenna in the game of Survivor because it is not at all what I
expected. I thought we were going to get the Jenna that we saw in the exit interviews, like that
Jenna, where she was very, she was very bubbly and she was very, like, excited and, and
and wanted to talk and used her hands and did all of the things that, you know, would really, like,
kind of make people notice you. And instead, she was withdrawn. And she kind of separated herself and
didn't share and wasn't that person that I expected to see, the exuberant person that I expected to see.
So it's fascinating to see her now in her exit press being that person. And so I really do feel for her
because this was something she wanted to do so badly she put it in these contracts of the jobs that she was taking.
And I'm certain that many people who hired her looked at the contract and that, well, isn't that cute?
And then they were like, oh, my God, look, there's our wedding photographer.
She was actually on Survivor.
So overall, Jenna was not what I expected.
I thought that she was going to be much more of a person that you would not necessarily want to grab.
towards and survivor because she would be a lot.
And instead, people didn't gravitate towards her because she wasn't much of anything at the
beginning.
Not, again, what I expected.
She tried to fix it.
She tried to come back.
She tried to like, and I thought she was going to have some momentum, like finally, like,
okay, she's, she got past it.
She's correcting it.
She's getting people to vote a different way.
Like, she's working the room.
Okay.
Jenna has a real shot here.
But, excuse me.
unfortunately there's devon and we've talked a lot about devon and how devon just really tunnel vision
had his sights on her for reasons unknown reasons that perhaps we will learn at some point in time
maybe he had a bad babysitter sometime named jenna i don't know but there's certainly something
about jenna that troubles him and it troubles him so deeply that he could not move past it
and he named a murdered chicken after jenna which is really a great thing that's really a great thing
So Devin, I hope whatever issue you have with Jenna, you've been able to move past, gotten some therapy, something.
Because you really like, you were a little obsessed with her.
And I'm curious.
And David deserves to know.
So Jenna, please provide the information to David so then he can tell me so that I know what happened.
Because I don't tell anyone.
No.
No.
I won't tell him.
Okay.
He won't tell me.
He won't.
It's fine.
Send it to David.
But Jenna.
I'm so sorry that your game was short-lived.
You were certainly surprising to me, not what I expected,
but also I didn't expect Devin to take such a dislike to either.
So this is what happens to the game of Survivor.
Things happen we do not expect.
You have to be flexible and you have to respond.
She tried, but Devin kept the course and focused on Jenna, unfortunately, for her.
So those are my thoughts.
Yeah, Jenna had a rough start to the game because her emotions hit her right off the bat in a way she didn't expect.
And while she did recover from it when she was told she'd become the target, it turned out that was already too late because of one other player in particular.
Usually you can change hearts and minds.
And under most normal circumstances, I think that would have happened.
But Devin just got it in his head that she was public enemy.
number one and he wouldn't let it go, like ever.
It was nothing Jenna could have done to change his mind after the first couple days.
And by the time she got to the swap tribe, she would have needed a time machine to survive
because she had to go back to the very beginning of the game and tell herself to not get
emotionally overwhelmed and instead make those bonds and allies she needed, to not be withdrawn
to the point that Devin and others got suspicious of her.
and if she had accomplished that, her whole game would have been different as ripples in time spread out.
We don't know how things would have worked out for her if that had been the case,
but they likely would have been better than they ended up.
However, Jenna couldn't go back in time.
She was stuck with what happened, and that made this outcome very predictable to us as we watched,
even though it wasn't to her as she lived it.
because we had important information she didn't know about.
Once Devin, Jelly, and Ori came back together, they were a lock.
Nothing was going to change that.
This led to Devin and Jelly lying to her about wanting to work with her.
Ori, lying to her about what Jenna was, or about what Alexis was saying.
She was completely stuck in their world, and they just plain outplayed her.
Sure, they had the advantage of numbers, but that's what can happen when you scheme
and plot right from the start, and you keep that scheming secret.
By her own words, Jenna wasn't swap screwed, as she acknowledged she could have done some
things different earlier. But by the time her new tribe lost the challenge, her fate was sealed
by alliances she didn't even know about. And that is why Jenna lost.
There we are. There we are. All right. Well, before we get to our predictions,
I do want to remind everyone that you can get the rules that we just discussed in a poster
form or poster on a t-shirt form or a checklist on a t-shirt form. Again, go to rob has website.com
slash y-x lost feed and you know, click, click, click, click away, almost like you're a photographer.
Click, click, click, click. That's good. I like that little transition there. That was nice. And, you know,
you can also like, I don't know, maybe check us out on social media because I am at Jessica Lewis 89 on both Blue Sky and Twitter.
I'm also at Jessica Lewis 6, 789 on Instagram.
But I will admit that anything that I post on my stories, I steal from David Bloomberg.
Because he creates content just it's it's almost magical how much content he creates considering where he came from, not even wanting to do video.
And now he's constantly videotaping himself or.
recording himself, I guess I should say, making incredible content for your enjoyment and your
view and pleasure. So David Bloomberg, why don't you tell them all about your link tree so they can
find all of the areas in which you do provide content for them to enjoy? You could find that
at Linktree slash David Bloomberg or directly on Blue Sky is at David Bloomberg and on TikTok,
YouTube and Instagram is at David Bloomberg TV. I typically post two or three reality TV short
videos per day. Right now, the mix is Survivor 51, the Traders U.S. New Blood, Celebrity Traders,
UK, and then you never know what else I might throw in there. Now, speaking of the traders,
I've been podcasting about numerous versions of it on the Trader. That's T-R-A-I-D-A-R.
I talked about the Traders Canada, episode four earlier in the week. I talked about the Traders'
U.S. New Blood, episode six, a few hours before recording this podcast.
And they'll be discussing Celebrity Traders UK, episode six tomorrow.
So it's, yeah, the traders really has us doing a lot.
There's a lot of traders going on.
My goodness.
There are.
There are.
All right.
Well, it is time for predictions.
Next time, two tribes go to tribal council.
There's a new advantage called the Blood Ring.
Plus, Jelly says Devin is not good for her game and, quote, he'll be devastated.
I think that is a massively out of context quote.
For all we know, she's talking about her dating game with Ori and he's going to be devastated
because she's not getting together with Ori.
I have a feeling that is not anything like we're expecting.
Yeah, I agree.
And then Maggie ends up taking a trip to somewhere.
Yeah. I think that's really all we get.
Yeah. So here's what I'm going to guess. I'm going to go out on a huge limb here.
Ooh, I love limbs. I think Maggie for some reason gets traded to this four-person tribe.
So it's not 664. It's 655.
Oh, interesting.
Okay. Now, it would suck for her if that tribe ends up at tribal council.
How would she get traded?
I don't know.
Who knows?
Maybe the blood ring done.
It's the open era.
Anything can happen.
Anything can happen.
Even though we're going to go old school, but not.
Yeah.
I mean, maybe they win a challenge and they get to steal her or borrow her for tribal
counsel or something.
I don't know.
Interesting.
Interesting.
Okay.
Go ahead.
I apologize.
I distracted you there.
No.
fine. Now, if the other two tribes go, I am definitely worried for my winner pick Kilby on the
Dina tribe. But Robin Omer had a very good point on know-it-alls, then it would be better for the
tribe to get rid of Lewis so it wouldn't upset Eric. So this is one thing where, yes, they know
about the Eric and Kilby situation, as you pointed out.
But does that mean they just say, well, much like they didn't want to upset
Ori on the tribe this week, they say, well, we don't want to upset Eric by voting out Kilby.
So we'll just vote out the Irishman.
And, you know, plus we saw Lewis being sick.
And then we didn't hear any.
Yeah.
And then we didn't hear anything about it again.
Why even mention it if it plays zero role?
in the game. Like, seriously, those scenes did not need to come into play at all. So I think
that illness is going to return and that will be also a reason used to vote him out. So who's
your other pick? So for the other tribe, which is New Toka, as I sit here and try to remember who's
in it, I think Mike is in the most trouble. And it might seem to be Kristen.
but I think she definitely made some fast friends.
Yeah.
While we were shown, Mike, let's just say not doing that.
Yeah.
You know, Tinnan and Maggie are certainly against him.
Though, of course, if I'm right about Maggie taking a trip, she might not matter.
But still, it just shows the overall view.
Carter probably isn't on board with him.
So Tinnon would just have to convince Carter not to worry about Kristen this time.
And no one's going to care about Brady because his controller is unplugged.
So I just think that we were shown all of that stuff about Mike being so awkward and trying to make friends because it's going to come back to buy them.
I'm sorry.
That was incredible.
Jessica had to recover from my controller.
I did the controller comment.
I do love that Brady was so insulted by it too.
was like explaining to, I think it was a Tannan, he was explaining to.
He was like, it's like, I was a five-year-old.
Am I could talk?
And just a look at her face was like, what is he even talking about?
But it was a great analogy that Kilby came up with, I will say.
I did very much appreciate that.
All right.
So this is what I'm going to say.
I think Alexis is going to be in trouble.
Regardless of what I, that's an interesting theory about Maggie.
I do think that's very interesting.
If that tribe goes, yes.
If that tribe goes, I do think that Alexis is not going to be long for this world because they were very suspicious.
You're going to name a chicken after her too.
Right.
There's a little suss.
You know, they're like, well, it's like the W-N-O versus W-Don't kind of thing.
So I'm worried about Alexis.
So I think it's likely to be Alexis.
But I do very much appreciate the.
your theory on Mike because I'm not going to pick Lewis.
I think Lewis is fabulous.
I want Lewis to stay as long as he can.
I need he and Carter to get back together.
I didn't say he wasn't.
I'm just predicting, you know.
No, I understand.
So I'm, this is a survivor gods.
Can't allow that to happen.
No butterfly effect.
We're going to keep Lewis right where he is.
But I do, I do fear for Mike as well because Mike really, it was interesting that Mike was like
running around to everybody.
And he was like, I'm going to, you're my number one.
I want to work with you.
You're my number one.
And Maggie was like,
what is his deal?
Like, Keith wants to work with everybody with no plan.
I very much appreciate Maggie's just like,
really.
So I agree.
I think it's going to be Mike.
I'm going to go with Alexis.
Those are my choices.
All right.
All right.

It's been great.
